Hello, it's Sarah with the Romans Society Church of God.
-
I want to study city of refuge and the tent
-
of the body that we live in on the earth
-
numbers thirty five, verse nine to thirty. Then the Lord
-
said to Moses, speak to the Israelites, and say to them,
-
when you cross the Jordan into Canaan, select some towns
-
to be your cities of refuge to which a person
-
who has killed someone accidentally may flee. They will be
-
places of refuge from the avengers, that anyone accused the
-
murderer may not die before they stand trial before the assembly.
-
These six towns you give will be cities of refuge.
-
Give three on the side of the Jordan and three
-
in Canaan as cities of refuge. These six towns will
-
be a place of refuge for Israelites, for foreigners residing
-
among them, among them, so that anyone who has killed
-
another accidentally can flee there. If anyone, but it's life
-
for life. If anyone strikes someone a fatal blow with
-
an iron object, the person is the murder that the
-
murderer is to be put to death. But if anyone,
-
without malice, afterthoughts, shoves another or throws something at them
-
intentionally so that they die. Or if out of mitty
-
one person hits another with their fists and that the
-
other die, that person has to be put to death.
-
That person is a murderer.
-
But if without enmity, someone suddenly pushes another or throws
-
something at them unintentionally without seeing them, drops on them
-
a stone heavy enough to kill them and they die,
-
then since that person was not an enemy and no
-
harm was intended, the Assembly must judge between the accusing
-
the avenger of blood. According to these regulations, the Assembly
-
must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger
-
of bloods and they chuse back to the city of
-
Refuge which they fled. The accus must stay there until
-
the death of the high priest who was anointed with
-
holy oil. The accused must stay in the city of refuge.
-
In verse twenty eight, the accused must stay in the
-
city of Refuge till the death of the high Priest.
-
Only after the death of the high Priest may they
-
return to their own property. Then this is not just
-
the law of Moses. It's a past, which is a
-
history that repeats itself and shows the spiritual world.
-
In Romans, fifteen four.
-
It is written everything that was written in the past
-
was written to teach us that through the Endurance and
-
in the scriptures taught in the scriptures, we might have hope.
-
So everything, everything taught in the past and the scriptures,
-
meaning throughout the scriptures the past, meaning in the Old
-
Testament or New Testament, was written to teach us.
-
That are here today.
-
And Ecclesiastes one, verse nine, what has been will be again,
-
what has been done will be done again. There is
-
nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which
-
one can say, Look, there is something new. It was
-
already here long ago, was here before our time. So
-
the law of Moses is a is the shadow, and
-
the reality is found in the law of Christ. In
-
Deuteronomy twenty nine, verse nine. Carefully follow the terms of
-
this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do.
-
All of you are standing here, all of you standing today.
-
All of you are standing today in the presence of
-
the Lord, your God, your leaders and chief men, your
-
elders and officials, and all the other men of Israel,
-
together with your children and your wives, and the foreigners
-
living in the camps who chop your wedding carry your water.
-
You are standing here in order to enter into a
-
covenant with the Lord, your God, a covenant the Lord
-
is making with you this day and stealing with an
-
oath to confirm to you this day, as his people,
-
that He may be your God, as you promised and
-
as He swore to your forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
-
I am making this covenant with his oath, not only
-
with you who are standing here with us today in
-
the presence of the Lord or God, but also with
-
those who are not here today. That means the people
-
that weren't there when God gave the Old Covenant. He's
-
there for the ones that are here now that weren't
-
there at the time of the Old covenants. This was
-
made for us, not just our forefathers of faith. Unintentional
-
murders can escape their death penalty by the death of
-
the high priest who was anointed with holy oil.
-
It's not only a past.
-
What is written in the Bible in the past is
-
the history that repeats itself and teaches us who are
-
alive now. The reality is the spiritual world Hebrews ten
-
first one. The law is only a shadow of the
-
good things that are coming. Not the realities himself. For
-
this reason, it can never buy the same sacrifices, repeated
-
endlessly year after year, make.
-
Perfect those who draw in near to worship.
-
Otherwise would they not have stopped being offered for the worshippers,
-
but have been cleansed once.
-
For all, and they no longer felt guilty for their sins.
-
But those sacrifices, the animal sacrifices, are an animal reminder
-
of sins.
-
Is impossible for.
-
The blood of golds and bulls and goats to take
-
away sins. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said,
-
sacrificing offering he did not prepare, But a body you
-
prepared for me with for offerings and stan offerings. You
-
were not pleased, Then, I said, Christ said, here I am,
-
and it is written about me and this girl.
-
I have come to do your will, my God.
-
First, he said, sacrifices and offerings were offerings and ston offerings.
-
He did not desire nor you pleased with them, though
-
they were offered in accordance with the law.
-
Then he said, here I am. I have come to
-
your will.
-
He sets aside the first covenant to establish a second,
-
and by that will we have been made holy through
-
the sacrifice for the body of Jesus Christ, once and
-
for all. Day by day, every priest stands and performan
-
says religious duties. Again and again he offers the same sacrifices,
-
which can never take away sins. But when this priest
-
had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he said,
-
up down at the right hand of God, And since
-
that time waits where his eney has been made his footstool,
-
for by one sacrifice he had made perfect forever those
-
who are being made holy. The Holy Spirit also testifies
-
to us about this. First, he says, this is a
-
covenant I will make with them. After that time, says
-
the Lord, I'll put my law in their hearts and
-
write them on their minds. Then he adds the sins
-
and lawless, as I will remember no more, and whether
-
where there has been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no
-
longer necessary. So the old covenant. They continually offer animal sacrifices.
-
But once we're cleaned with the blood of Christ, that
-
we don't need him to sacrifice again, because his one
-
time sacrificing on the cross cleaned our sins once and
-
for all. He's not going to remember our sins anymore
-
faith in action Hebrews eleven, verse one to forty. Now
-
faith is confidence and what we hope for in assurance
-
about we about what we do not see. This is
-
what the ancients were commended for. By faith, we understand
-
that the universe was formed at God's commands, that what
-
is seen was not made out of what it was visible.
-
By faith, Able brought God a better offering than Cain did.
-
By faith, he was commended as righteous when God spoke
-
well of his offerings. By faith, Able still speaks even
-
though he is dead. By faith, Enoch was taken from
-
this life so that he did not experienced death. He
-
could not be found because God had taken him away,
-
for before he was taken he was commended as one
-
who pleased God. And without faith is impossible to please God,
-
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he
-
exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him
-
by faith. Noah, when warned about things not yet seen
-
and holy fear, built an arch to save his family.
-
By his faith, he condemned the world and became heir
-
of the righteousness.
-
That is keeping with faith by faith.
-
Abraham when he called to go to a place he
-
would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even
-
though he did not know where he was going. By faith,
-
he made his home in the promise land, like strangers
-
in a foreign country. He lived in tents, as at
-
Isaac and Jacob, who were errors with him at the
-
same promise. For he was looking forward to the city
-
with foundations whose architect and build her as God. And
-
by faith even Saa, who his past child bearing age,
-
was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful
-
who had made the promise. And so from this one man,
-
as good as as he, as good as dead, Abraham
-
came to send us as numerous as the stars of
-
the sky, and as callous as a stand on the
-
sea shirt. All these people were so living by faith.
-
When they died, they did not receive the things promise.
-
They only saw them and welcomed them from a distance
-
of anything, that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.
-
People who say such things show that they are looking
-
for a country of their own. If they have been
-
thinking of the country they had left, they would have
-
opportunity to return, and said they were longing for a
-
better country, a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not a
-
shame to be called their god, for He has prepared a.
-
City for them.
-
Hometown of mankind is the heavenly country the earth where
-
we live in the body is the tent, is the
-
city of refuge. The tent of the body is a
-
city of refuge for our souls. All men are criminals
-
on death row, who are sentenced to death from heaven
-
to the earth and confined to the body. What is
-
the secret hidden in the death of the high priest
-
who flees death row prisoners. Let's see before we see
-
the secret of the death of the high priest which
-
flees the death row prisoners, Let's confirm that this body
-
we are living in is is the city. This is
-
a prison, is a city of refuge for our souls.
-
Roman seven twenty four Apostle Paul wrote, what a wretched
-
man I am, who will rent asking me from this
-
body that is subject to death. He was a slave
-
to the law of sin and death until he learned
-
about Christ. Then he became a slave to God's law.
-
But if we follow our sinful nature, we are slaves
-
to the law of sin in our body. The law
-
of sin and death two Corinthians five, Verse one to ten,
-
awaiting the new body.
-
For we know of that this earthly tent we live
-
in it is destroyed.
-
We have a building from God and an eternal house
-
in heaven, not built by human hands. So this tent,
-
that this earthly tent that means the body we live in,
-
is when it's destroyed. We have a building from God
-
in an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile,
-
we grown when we're in the body, be grown longing
-
to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when
-
we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For
-
while we are in this tent, we've grown in our burden,
-
because we do not wish to be unclothed, but to
-
be clothed and stead we our heavenly dwelling, so that
-
what is mortal may be swallowed.
-
Up by life.
-
So the tent of the body is mortal. In verse six.
-
Therefore we are always confident. We know that it as
-
long as we are at home in the body, we
-
are away from the Lord.
-
We live by faith, not by sight.
-
So we make it our goal to pleating whether we
-
are at home in the body or away from it.
-
We must all appear before the judgment seat of price,
-
that each of us may receive what is due for
-
the things done in the body, whether good or bad.
-
So we can see the tent of the body. Apostle
-
Paul was describing it, and Second Corinthians five, verse one
-
to ten. Yeah, we just read that. And then one
-
Peter one, verse eighteen to twenty five. First Peter one,
-
verse eighteen to twenty five. For we know, for you
-
know that it was not with perishable things such as silver,
-
gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of
-
life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with
-
the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
-
So it was not with physical golds on this earth
-
that we were redeemed from the empty way of life
-
hand downs from our ancestors.
-
The people who keep.
-
The Law of Moses, the earthly Israelites, receive physical blessings
-
for keeping the physical law of Moses, but we receive
-
heavenly blessings for receiving for following the law of Christ.
-
He was chosen before the creation of the world, but
-
was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through Him,
-
you believe in God who was raised from the dead
-
and glorified Him. So your faith and hope are in God.
-
Now that you have purified yourself selves by obeying the truth,
-
do you have sincere love for each other, Love going
-
another deeply from the heart. For you have been born again,
-
not a perishable steed, but the imperishable.
-
Through the living and enduring Word of God.
-
All people are like grass and their glories, like the
-
flowers of the fields. The grass brothers, and the flowers fall.
-
But the word of the Lord endures forever. And this
-
is the word that was preach to you. So only
-
through the precious blood of Christ can we be redeemed
-
from the body of sin and death and return to
-
our home, the city of refuge, our home, the heavenly country.
-
This earth is the city of refuge, where we dwell
-
in a prison in the body, because we sinned in heaven,
-
and we're driven out of heaven as murderers to this earth.
-
But if we are forgiven through the past over by
-
the death of the High Priests, and receive his blood,
-
we can return to our heavenly country and escape that.
-
Thank you,
