Hello, This is Cireh Bria at two forty on March nineteenth,
-
twenty twenty four, recording a podcast a sermon. I want
-
to study about the law of the city of refuge
-
and how it relates to our life on this earth.
-
Every law on the Old Testament is a shadow. Then
-
the reality is in the spiritual world, and in the
-
New Testament we can see its fulfillment. And the Lord
-
said to Moses saying in number thirty five, verse nine.
-
And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, speak to the
-
people of Israel, and state to them, when you cross
-
the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then he shall
-
select cities to be cities of refuge for you. But
-
the man player who killed any person without intent may
-
flee there. The city shall be for you a refuge
-
from the avenger that the man slawyer may not die
-
in place stands before the Congregation for judgment. So the
-
cities of refuge were for people that did it without intent,
-
without unintentional criminals, and they need to stand before the
-
Congregation for judgment. So we need to know what this means.
-
And the cities that you shall give shall be for
-
you six cities of refuge, for anybody who kills without
-
intent may flee there. But if he struck him down
-
with an iron object so that he died, he is
-
a murderer.
-
That murders shall be put to death.
-
And he struck him down with a stone tool that
-
caused death and he died, he is a murderer.
-
The murderer should be put to death.
-
Or if he struck him down with a wooden tool
-
that caused death and he died, he is a murderer.
-
The murder should be put to death. The avenger of
-
luchlumsoft put the murderer to death. When he meets him,
-
he shall put him to death. And if he pushed
-
him out of hatred, or hurled something at him lying
-
in wait, so that he died, and m andy struck
-
him down with his hands so that he died, and
-
he who struck the blood shall be put to death,
-
either murderer. The avenger of Blood shall put the murder
-
to death when he meets him. But if he pushed
-
him with suddenly without enmity, or held anything on him
-
without lying and wait, or use the stone that could
-
cause death without seeing him, dropped it on him so
-
that he died though he was not his enemy and did.
-
Not seek his harm.
-
Then the Congregation shall judge between the manslayer and the
-
Avenger of Blood in accordance with these rules, And the
-
Congregation shall rescue the manslayer from the hands of the
-
Avenger of Blood, and the Congregation shall restore him to
-
the city of refuge to which he had fled, and
-
he shall live, and to the death of the High
-
Priest who was anointed with holy oil in.
-
Verse thirty two.
-
And you shall accept no ransom for him who has
-
fled to the city of refuge, that he may return
-
to dwell on the land.
-
Before the death of the high priests.
-
Then only the death of the high priest in the
-
law of Moses, which is a history that repeats itself
-
in the spiritual world, the death is the high priests
-
the only thing that can save an inmate that was
-
a murderer. So what does it mean standing in congregation
-
for judgment, no ransom for unintentional murderers, except that the
-
death of the high priest.
-
And what is the city? What are these cities of refuge?
-
So the reality of the high priest and the is
-
the order of malchisedec. It's the eternal order Romans three,
-
verse one H. What advantage then, is there being a Jew?
-
Or what value is there in a circumcision? Much in
-
every way? First of all, the Jews have been entrusted
-
with the very words of God.
-
What if some were unfaithful?
-
Will the unfaithfulness know if by God's faithfulness not at all?
-
Let God be true in every human being a liar,
-
as it is written, So you maybe proved right when
-
you speak, and prevail when you judge. So we we
-
have faith in the blood of Christ, that he redeemed
-
our sins.
-
By faith.
-
Abraham, when called to go to a place he would
-
later receive it as his inheritance, obeying when even though
-
he did not know where he was going, by faith,
-
he made it his home and the promised land. Like
-
a stranger in a foreign country. He lived in tents,
-
as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him
-
of the same promise, for he was looking forward to
-
the city with foundations whose architect and builder is God.
-
And by faith by faith, even Sarah, who was past
-
child bearing age, was enabled to bear children because she
-
considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so
-
from this one man, he came who, and he as
-
good as dead, came to descendants, as numerous as the
-
stars in the sky, and as countless as it stands
-
in the seashore. All these people are still living by faith.
-
When they died, they did not receive the things promised.
-
They only saw them and welcome them from a distance,
-
admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. People
-
who say such things show that they are looking forward
-
to a country of their own. If they had been
-
thinking of the country they had left, they would have
-
opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country,
-
a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not a shame to
-
be called the God, for he has prepared a city
-
for them. So it is by faith that we enter
-
the heavenly country. The Kingdom of Heaven is our hometown.
-
Then, And what is the earth where we live first?
-
For we know that it's the earthly tent we live
-
and is destroyed. We have a building from God, an
-
eternal health, heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile, we've
-
grown longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,
-
because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
-
For we that are in this tabernacle do grown being burdened,
-
nor for that we would be unclothed, but clothed up,
-
that mortality might be swallowed up of life. He now that,
-
and now he that hath rowed us for the self
-
same thing. In God, we also have given us the earnest,
-
earnest of the spirit.
-
Therefore we are always.
-
Confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body,
-
we are absent from God. We walk by faith, not
-
by sight. We are confident, I say, and I'm willing
-
rather to be absent from the body and to be
-
present with the Lord. So the tent of the body
-
is our earthly tent, our flesh, our body, our earthly
-
but our earthly nature.
-
We live in this.
-
Earth and the body, which is a city of refuge
-
for our souls. All men are criminals on death row,
-
who were sentenced to death from having cast down and confined.
-
What is the secret hidden in the death of the
-
high priests which please death row prisoners? For you know
-
that one Peter one, verse eighteen. For you know that
-
it was not with perishable things such as silver gold
-
that you were redeemed from the empty way of life
-
handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the
-
precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish defect. He
-
was chosen before the creation of the world, but was
-
revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him,
-
you believe in God who raised him from the dead
-
and glorified him. And so your faith and hope are
-
in God. Now that you have purified yourself by obeying
-
the truth that you have sincere love for each other.
-
Love one another deeply from the heart.
-
If you have been born again, not of perishable see,
-
but of imperishable Be the living and enjoying Word of God.
-
For all people are like grass and all their glories
-
like the flowers of the field. The grass brothers, and
-
the flowers fall. But the word of the Lord endures forever.
-
And this is the word that was preached to you.
-
So with the precious blood of Christ we are redeemed.
-
That is the death of the high priests. Is the
-
precious blood of Christ. For I received from the Lord,
-
but I also delivered to you that the Lord Jesus,
-
on the night he was betrayed, shook bread. When he
-
had given things, he broke it and said, this is
-
my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance
-
of me. In the same way, also he took the
-
cup of after supper, saying, this cup is the new
-
covenant in my blood. Do this as often as you
-
drink it, and remembrance of me. So we know the
-
passover is the only way to celebrate the death of
-
the high priests, that we can go back to a
-
heavenly country. Consider the people of Israel. Do not those
-
who eat the sacrifices participate in the altered? Do I
-
mean that the food sacrifice to an idol is anything,
-
or then idols anything? No, but the sacrifices of pagans
-
are offered of demons, not to God. And I do
-
not want you to be participants with demons. You drink,
-
cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup
-
of demons too. You cannot have a part in both
-
the Lord's table and the table of demons. So we
-
can only we can only believe in the one God
-
that saves us from our sins, which we know in
-
this last dage is Christ on song home? And what
-
is the congregation for judgment that we have to that
-
we all have to face. Look on Zion, the city
-
of our festivals. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode,
-
a tent that will not be moved if staves will
-
never be pulled up there, any of its rope is broken.
-
There the Lord will be our mighty one. It will
-
be a place of broad rivers and streams. No galley
-
with oars will ride them, no lightyship will ship sail them.
-
For the Lord is our job. The Lord is our lawgiver,
-
The Lord is our king. It is he who will
-
save us. Then only if we come to Zion can
-
we receive and dwell there till the end. Can we
-
receive forgiveness of sins, and come and our sins and
-
all other gods will be judged, so that we can
-
enter the Kingdom of heaven. And heavenly mother is Jerusalem,
-
who is the immovable tent. She's in the body, waiting
-
for her children all to come home. Thank you for listening.
