MGD: Is God Your Consultant?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lay

not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him,

for he shall direct your past. Welcome, dearly beloved to

another episode of the Morning Glory Devotion coming to you

again privileged to be facilitating today's edition. God, richly bless

you for being with us. Please let's share a word

of prayer. A Heavenly Father, we thank you for the

gift of life and for this opportunity to know you

more through your word. There is a prayer, O God,

that you open our eyes to behold wondrous stance in

your law, and that you give us inspiration in Jesus' name.

Amen. Amen.

Please let's kindly take our confession from the Book of Joshua,

Chapter one, verse eight. This book of the Law shall

not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate

in it day and night, that I may observe to

do according to all that is ranging in it. For them,

I will make my way past us, and then I

would have good success. Amen, Amen, Beloved. The theme for

today's devotion. Is is God, You're consultant. Is God, You're consultant.

And we'll take a Bible reading from the Book of

Second Kings, Chapter one, verses one to eight. Please I

read from the Bible in basic English. After the death

of Ahab, Moab made itself free from the authority of Israel.

Now a hazier had fallen from the window of his

room in Samaria and was ill. And he sent men

and said to them, put a question to Boo Zibab,

the God of Kron, about the outcome of my disease,

to see if I will get well or not. But

the Angel of the Lord said to Elijah the go now, and,

meeting the men sent by the king of Samaria, say

to them, is it not because there's no god in

Israel that year going to get directions from Belzebub, the

God of Akron. Give here then to the worst of

the Lord. You will never again get down from the

bed on which you have gone up, but death would

definitely come to you. Then Elijah went away, and the

men he had sent came back to the king, and

he said to them, why have you come back? And

they said to him, on our way we had a

meeting with a man who said, go back to the

king who sent you, and say to him. The Lord says,

is it because there's no god in Israel? There you

sin to put a question before bow Zibub, the god

of Kron. For this reason, you will not come down

from the bed on which you have gone up, but

death will certainly come to you. And he said to them,

what sort of man was it who came and said

this to you? And they said in answer, he was

a man clothed in a coat of hair, with a

leather band about his body. And he said, it is

Elijah that tese bite, Beloved. This is the reading of

the word of God. Thanks be to God.

Is God your consultant, beloved. It is true that man

is very curious about the future, always desiring to know

what will happen next, particularly in our individual lives. Maybe

you've ever reasoned, if only I could have full knowledge

of how my career, my business, marriage, travel plans, and

so on and so forth are going to turn out.

And people have become so obsessed about knowing their future,

as though all their lives dependent on that knowledge. Sometimes

the unknown future makes us so anxious that if we

had the opportunity, we would have given up just anything,

so we will be sure tomorrow and ultimately our destinies.

Just liking a desiah. In Second King, Chapter one sent

his messengers to inquire from Belziba, the god of Akron,

whether he would recover from his disease. Anxiety about the

future has often driven the modern man into exploring ways

and means just to know what the future holds. The

masses are chasing one profit after another just so they

may know what next will become of their lives. Others

resort to all manner of mediums and practices which are

biblically unapproved, including the so called psychic sciences such as

reading of the palm, stars and tyrot carts. Others have

also engaged mediums such as handwriting, analysis, necromancy, and crystal gazing.

And it may not be surprising that some people are

already moving from one camp to another just to seek

information as to how the year is going to turn

out for them. Let's pause and thing for a moment

whether our knowledge of the future will necess just really

guarantee a desirable one. Unliking a desire of Israel, your

story as a follower of Jesus Christ must be different.

You don't need a fortune teller in your life to

be sure of what tomorrow holds for you. It's enough

that God willself knows everything, including that which man has

not conceived yet, nor can ever imagine. Like someone has said,

we may not know, but it's enough. We know the

one who knows. David understood this, and he said in

some chapter number twenty three, the verse four, even when

I am walking through the very dangerous dark ravens, where

I might be killed, I will not be afraid of

anything because you are with me. You protect me. Like

a shepherd protects his sheep. He uses his club and

his working stick to protect them from being attacked by

the wild animals. Believed, it is not a sheep that

should know the terran. To guarantee their own safety is

a shepherd's duty. And if God, who is all knowing,

is your shepherd, it doesn't matter how tomorrow may unfold.

God will see you through safely and gloriously. He is

a supreme one who allows, and this allows, He decreaes

and amen's decrease. He is our chief captain, the pilot

of our destinies. He alone holds the power to what

should or should not be. All power belongs to him.

And this is what David understood when he penned down

his heart in First Chronicles chapter twenty nine, the verse

eleven through twelve as a Bible. He rightly said in

Lamentation Chapter three, the verse thirty seven. Who is able

to say a thing and give effect to it if

it has not been ordered by the Lord? Beloved? Our

God doesn't just foretell the future, He commands it into being.

He is a one we should trust and consort regarding

our desires in life, our destinies, careers, marriages, businesses, jobs, health,

fruit of the womb, and so on and so forth.

Pressure us one, don't turn anywhere concerning your life or

anyone else's lead. The authoritative voice of God's word in

your spirit be the end of all controversies concerning how

your life will turn out. And let God be the

authority concerning your future. It will definitely end you well

in Jesus' mighty name. Amen and Amen beloved. Let's take

our memory verse together from Second King chapter one, the

verst three b. He says, is there no God in Israel?

Why are you going to belzebub the God of Akron

to ask whether the king will recover. Let's take it again,

Second Kings, Chapter one, verse three B. Is there no

God in Israel? Why are you going to Belzebub, the

God of Akron to ask whether the king will recover? Beloved,

let's share a word of prayer. Father, in the name

of Jesus, we thank you for our lives. Thank you

for exposing us to your word that we should consult you.

We pray for the grace to do so in every

area of our lives, no matter how little it may seem,

even concerning our future. We know you know all things,

and help us to entrust our future into your hands.

We know it would definitely end as well, all to

the praise of your glory and to the betterments of

our lives. In Jesus' mighty name, we have prayed. Amen

and Amen.

controversies concerning how your life will turn out. God richly
