  2. Glory Devotion brought to you by the Harvest Chapel International,

  4. is facilitated by a pastor and Missus Baffo. God richly

  5. bless you for always making it a date with us. Kindly,

  6. let us share a word of prayer. Further, in the

  7. name of Jesus, we thank you for this morning. We

  8. thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for

  9. this opportunity to learn from you. It's a prayer of

  10. God that you give us an obedient heart that will

  11. receive your word and practice it to the praise and

  12. glory of your name. Jesus name, have we prayed? Amen. Amen,

  13. dear one, let us kindly say a confession together from

  14. Joshua chapter one, verse eight.

  15. This book of the out.

  16. Of my mouth.

  17. But I shall day and night that I to do

  18. according to all that.

  19. But then I will make my way past us, and

  20. then I have good Amen. Today you are considering the topic,

  21. pay attention to instructions per three. Pay attention to instructions PA. Three.

  22. The passage for consideration is Luke chapter five, verses one

  23. to seven. Our kindly read from the new English translation. Now,

  24. Jesus was standing by the lake of Ghana Syrid, and

  25. the crowd was pressing around him to hear the word

  26. of God. He saw two boats by the lake, but

  27. the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing

  28. their nets. He got into one of the boats, which

  29. was Semon's, and asked him to put out a little

  30. away from the shore. Then Jesus sat and thought the

  31. crowd from the boats. When he had finished speaking, he

  32. said to Simon, put out into the deep water and

  33. lower your nets for a catch. Simon answered, Master, we

  34. worked hard all night and caught nothing, but as your word,

  35. I will lower the nets. When they had done this,

  36. they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear.

  37. So they motioned to their partners in the other boat

  38. to come and help them, and they came and filled

  39. both boats, so that they were about to sing, Beloved.

  40. This is the reading of the word of the Lord.

  41. Thans be used to God.

  42. Amen, pay attention to instructions past three. Over the two

  43. previous episodes, we realized that the breakthroughs with there in

  44. life don't usually arrive fully formed. God rarely drops a

  45. miracle out of the sky without requiring a human hand

  46. to move. Rather, he wraps at breakthroughs inside his instructions.

  47. We conclude that it's not always easy to follow those

  48. instructions because they don't always make sense to our natural

  49. way of thinking. Some of the instructions we receive from

  50. God may feel utterly confusion to the human mind because

  51. we save a God whose thoughts are vastly higher than ours,

  52. which means his instructions will often clash with our logic.

  53. But today we face an even tougher barrier.

  54. What happens when God's instructions challenges your personal expertise, your pride,

  55. your preference, or your share exhaustion, It is easy to

  56. disregard God when we think we know better. We often

  57. allow our past experiences, a professional training, or our comfort

  58. zones to dictate how and when we obey. Think about

  59. Simon Peter. He was not an amateur. He was a

  60. seasoned professional fisherman who knew the Sea of Galilee.

  61. Intimately.

  62. He knew that commercial fishing was done at night, when

  63. the fish came to the surface to feed. Yet after

  64. throwing his nerves for hours in the dark, he caught

  65. absolutely nothing. Imagine the scene at daybreak. Peter and his

  66. partners were on the shore, completely exult cleaning the ways

  67. out of their empty nets. Their bags were aching, their

  68. pockets were empty, and they were dreading the walk home

  69. to face their families. It is precisely in this moment

  70. of defeat that Jesus steps into the boat and says,

  71. lunch out into the deep and let down your nets

  72. for a drought. To a professional finisherman, this command was insulting.

  73. Jesus was a carpenter preaching on the shore during the

  74. west fishing hour of the day. Peter's initial response betrayed

  75. his frustration. He said, Master, we have told all the

  76. night and have taken nothing.

  77. He was leaning on his experience.

  78. But then faith to over and he appended a fate

  79. filled utterance. Nevertheless, at die world, I well let down

  80. the net. When he chose God's word over his own expertise,

  81. the sea exploded with life. His obedience yielded and overwhelming

  82. abundance of fishes, until the nets began to break and

  83. their boats began to sink under the weight of the blessing.

  84. Centuries before Peter, a Syrian army general named Neyman nearly

  85. missed his miracle for the exact same reason. He thought

  86. his state was an experience gave him a better perspective.

  87. Covered in leprosy, he stood outside the prophet elicious house,

  88. expecting a grand, dramatic display. Instead, a servant came out

  89. with a simple instruction, go and wash seven times in

  90. the Jordan, and your skin will be restored and you

  91. will be healed, as in Second King, chapter five, the

  92. first ten Nayan raged, he was furious that the prophet

  93. did not even come out to wave his hand. He said, look,

  94. I thought for sure he would come out, stand there,

  95. invoke the name of the Lord, his God, wave his

  96. hand over the area, and kill the skin disease. He

  97. complained that the clean rivers of the Mascos were far

  98. better than the muddy waters of Israel.

  99. His pride almost kept him in his disease.

  100. It was only when he humbled himself, cast aside his preferences,

  101. and dipped into the Jordan that his flesh was restored

  102. like that of a little child. Pleasures one, Where are

  103. you letting your own expertise, pride, or preferences block your breakthrough?

  104. Are you telling God how to fix your career instead

  105. of following his promptings. Are you refusing to forgive a spouse,

  106. a friend, or a colleague because your feelings tell you.

  107. That you are right and they are wrong.

  108. Do not let what you know luck you out of

  109. what God wants to do with your life. Cast aside

  110. your pride, your preferences, put away your exhaustion, and say, Lord, nevertheless,

  111. at your word, I will try again. God bless you

  112. belove it. Please let's affair our memory. Verse from Luke

  113. Cheptaen number five, the verse five Simon answer master, we

  114. worked hard all night and caught nothing, But at your word,

  115. I will lower the nets. Simon answer master, We worked

  116. hard all night and caught nothing.

  117. But at your word, I.

  118. Will lower the nets. We'll have a less share a

  119. word of prayer. Father, We are grateful for speaking to

  120. us this morning. We thank you for exposing us to

  121. your ways and your will. We genuinely confess that there

  122. are times we think we know better than you do.

  123. There are times that we let our pride and our

  124. preferences and our opinions take leadership of our lives beyond

  125. your will and ways.

  126. But we prayed at this.

  127. Time around Lord will help us to humble ourselves under

  128. our instructions, even if we are exhausted, even if we

  129. feel we have much experienced. Lord, help us to put

  130. all aside, that we may be obedient to your will.

  131. We may be obedient to your instructions and well see

  132. your mighty hand in our lives.

  133. Let your name.

  134. Alone be praised now and forever In Jesus Mighty name,

  135. we have prayed, Amen and Amen believed. God richly bless

  136. you for tuning in to listen to today's morning Globy devotion.
