-
will thank you this morning for your goodness and your
-
sister was us. Thank you for the gift of life
-
and the privilege to gather around your word the way.
-
Welcome your presence even now, and we ask that you
-
nourish us with the truth of your word in Jesus'
-
minding him well. Pray with ends even Amen. Let's take
-
a confession from Joshua chapter one, verse eight. This book
-
of the Law shall not depart out of my mouth,
-
but I shall meditate in a day and night that
-
I may observe to do according to all that desirating
-
in it. For then I will make my way prosperous,
-
and then I will have good success. Amen. Our devotion
-
is titled in Whose Arms are You? We will take
-
our scripture reading from Deutronomy chapter thirty three, verse twenty seven.
-
The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are
-
the everlasting arms and he thrust out the enemy before
-
you and said destroyed. Made the Lord bless the reading
-
of his word, Amen.
-
In those arms are you. In twenty sixteen, what seemed
-
like an ordinary journey from my prier to Commaci and
-
a vip bus turned into a live chaining experience. I
-
was involved in a serious accident that left me with
-
a deep fear of traveling on big buses. From that
-
day forward, every trip became a struggle. The slighter tolt
-
of the bus would make my heart raise, and every
-
sudden break would bring the memories of that traumatic day
-
flatten back. Though I tried repeatedly to welcome the fear
-
on my own, nothing seemed to work. Years later, when
-
my husband and I got married, the effects of that
-
accident were still very much alive. Because I was working
-
in a car while at home was in Kumasi, I
-
traveled almost every weekend to be with him. What should
-
have been joyful journeys became weekly confrontations with a fear
-
I had carried for seven years. As a month turned
-
into years, I found myself asking the same question over
-
and over, will I ever be free from the sphere.
-
During one of the trips, I found myself on the
-
bus again, surrounded by all kinds of passengers, the elderly,
-
the young, mothers were toldless, and people of various backgrounds.
-
I sat in my seat, completely guarded, ready to nurse
-
my usual anxieties low and behold the bars tilted. By
-
this time it wasn't a small tilt. It was a heavy,
-
nerve racking lane. As the driver maneuvered through incredibly onto
-
latent terrain. I was terrified to death. Passengers around me panicked,
-
some even standing up in shock to see what was happening.
-
Right in the middle of my panic, the Holy Spirit
-
prompted me to look across the l at a toddler
-
resting in her mother's arms. She was completely unbothered by
-
the chaos around her, fall ad all to a trembling,
-
This little girl was calm and smiling. She had absolute
-
confidence that because she was held tightly in her mother's arms,
-
her safety was guaranteed. Then the Holy Spirit was spread
-
a question straight to my heart, in whose arms are you?
-
I fierce dissipated. With the speed of light, A profound
-
peace swept over me. Everything else came to a standstill,
-
and we continued our journey safety to commerci in that moment,
-
and under still that if a child can rest peacefully
-
in the arms of an elderly parent, how much more
-
and a child of God rest in the everlasting arms
-
of the heavenly Father. The circumstances had not changed. The
-
boss was told get in the same difficultary. The wood
-
was still rough. Yet my heart to transform because my
-
focus shifted from the danger around me to the God
-
who was carrying me through it. Many of us are
-
living as though as safety depends on our ability to
-
control level situation. We worry about our future, our finances,
-
our health, our families, and our careers. We scan every
-
circumstance for signs of danger and uncertainty. Yes, the Lord's
-
question remains the same, in whose arms are you? The
-
answer to fear is not always the removal of uncertainty.
-
Often it is the assurance of God's presence. Peace comes
-
when we recognize that our lives are not ultimately in the
-
hands of circumstances, as in the hands of a loving
-
father who neither slumbers nor sleeps. Scriptures remind us that
-
in the Turnamy three twenty seven A, that eternal God
-
is your refuge and underneath our everlasting arms, beloved. Those
-
arms have never failed the herod Us yesterday. They sustain
-
us today, and they will carry us safely into tomorrow.
-
Whatever journey you are on today, whatever fears threatening your peace,
-
remember this truth. You are not traveling alone. You are
-
held securely in the everlasting arms of God. And when
-
you know whose arms you are in, you can face
-
even the toughest roads with confidence and peace. Amen, beloved.
-
Let's take our memory of this as I had had
-
to forty three. Verse two I read from the ESV version.
-
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you,
-
and through the rivers, it shall not overwhelm you. When
-
you walk through the fire, it shall not be paid,
-
and the flame shall not consume you. Amen.
-
Let us pray. Father, We thank you this morning for
-
your word. Thank you for giving us insight into this
-
comforting truth that comes from your wed We ask for
-
grace to be doers of this wet you shared with
-
us this morning. We pray that the truths concerning we
-
resting in your arms will bear fruits in our lives
-
and bring glory to your holy name. In the minding
-
name of Jesus, we have prayed with all things given Amen,
-
we love it. God bless you for joining today's episode
-
of our Morning Glory Devotion. Join us again tomorrow at
-
six thirty am for another edition of the Morning Glory Devotion.
-
Until then, remain in cost presence and stabilist shalom.
