-
Bring you the third and final part of the message,
-
finding God helping others find Him. Finding God helping others
-
find Him our scripture reading sharp take him from John
-
chapter one the string to nine to forty six. John
-
Chapter one, the String nine to forty six. I'll be
-
reading from their new International versue John testifies about Jesus.
-
The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, look,
-
the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of
-
the world. This is the one I meant when I said,
-
a man who comes after me has surpassed me, because
-
he was before me. I myself did not know him.
-
But the reason I came baptizing with water was that
-
he might be revealed to Israel. Then John gave this testimony.
-
I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a
-
dog and remained on him, And I myself did not
-
know him. But the one who sent me to baptize
-
with water told me, the man on whom you see
-
the spirit come down and remain as the one who
-
will baptize with the Holy Spirit. I have seen and
-
testified that this is called choosing one. Jones's disciples follow Jesus.
-
The next day, John was there again of his disciples.
-
When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, look the
-
lamp of God. When the two disciples heard him say this,
-
they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked,
-
what do you want. They said, rabbi, which means teacher.
-
Where are you staying, Come, he replied, and you will see.
-
So they went and saw where he was staying, and
-
they spent that day with him. It was about four
-
in the afternoon. Andrew, Simon Peters's brother, was one of
-
the two who had what John had said and who
-
had followed Jesus. The first thing Anti date was to
-
find his brother Simon and tell him we have found
-
the Messiah, that is the Christ. And he brought him
-
to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, you are
-
Simon snel John. You will be called Sephas, which when
-
translated is Peter. Jesus calls Philip and Nathaniel. The next day,
-
Jesus decided to leave for Kalibi. Finding Philip, he said
-
to him, follow me. Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was
-
from the town of Bedsider. Philip found Nathaniel and told him,
-
we have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law,
-
and about whom the prophet also rootes, Jesus of Nazareth,
-
the son of Joseph Nazareth. Can anything good come from there?
-
Nathaniel asked, Come and see, said Philip. The Lord add
-
his blessings to the reading, and hearing of his word.
-
Thanks be to God.
-
Finding God Part three Helping Others find Him. Yesterday we
-
were reminded that finding God is not the end of
-
the journey. Having found him, we must continue to honor
-
Him with reverence, guarding our hearts against the danger of familiarity.
-
But there is yet another step. Once we have found
-
him and come to cherish his presence, God calls us
-
to help others find him too. This is exactly what
-
we see in the opening chapter of John's Gospel. John
-
the Baptist had spent time seeking God, listening to his voice,
-
and recognizing the signs he had given concerning the Messiah.
-
But when Jesus appeared, John did not keep that revelation
-
to himself. Pointing at GESI says, he boldly declared, behold
-
the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of
-
the world. John Chapter one, the verse twenty nine. He
-
became a witness to the light. In fact, he was
-
so committed to God's papers that he willingly pointed his
-
own disciples away from himself and toward Christ. John's greatest
-
joy was not in gathering followers, but in helping people
-
find Jesus. The same pattern continued. Andrew found Jesus and
-
immediately went looking for his brother Simon Peter saying, we
-
have found the Messiah. Philip found Jesus and went searching
-
for Nathaniel. One encounter led to another. One testimony opened
-
the door for another's soul to believe. Many people around
-
us are still searching. Some are looking for purpos, others
-
for peace, answers, hope, or direction. Like the Athenians pull
-
met in Act seventeen, they may not even realize that
-
the God they seek is already near them. Perhaps they
-
have seen traces of His hand in their lives, but
-
do not yet recognize them. This is where God calls
-
us to step in. We become witnesses, helping others see
-
the evidence of His presence, sharing what He has done
-
for us, and pointing them to the one we have found. Beloved,
-
God did not reveal himself to you merely for your benefits.
-
He revealed himself so that through your life others might
-
find him too. May we become faithful signs posts that
-
points men and women to Jesus. God, richly bless you.
-
Let us kind of take our memory verse for today.
-
Our memory verse for today is taken from John chapter one,
-
the verse forty one. John Chapter one, the verse forty one.
-
I will be reading from the New International version. The
-
first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon
-
and tell him we have found a mesire that is
-
the Christ. The first thing Andrew did was to find
-
his brother Simon and tell him we have found the
-
mesire that is the Christ. Amen, Amen, let us kind
-
of share a word of prayer. Our Heavenly Father, thank
-
you for revealing yourself to us. Help us to become
-
faithfulwardnesses of your goodness and grace. Our eyes to those
-
around us who worth section, and give us the courage
-
and wisdom to point them to Christ. Let our lives
-
help others find you in Jesus his name. Amen, Amen.
-
Beloved, thank you for being with us all through the series.
-
It is our prayer that you will find God, honor
-
him so dearly, and leave many others to find him too.
-
By Gosh grace, our morning, glory devotion will come your
-
way again tomorrow. At the same time, keep your dogs
