MGD: People Pleasing

Bless the Lord, oh my soul and all that is

within me. Bless this holy name. Charalam, lovely one, and

you're welcome to today's morning glory devotion. Privilege to be

facilitating today's morning glory devotion is Jessica ellenham A Hollo.

Let's pray. Father, in the name of Jesus.

We thank you for today, but thank you for another

opportunity to hear your word. We asked that you will

help us to understand your word in Jesus name. Amen,

Let's kindly take our confession Joshua one verse eight. This

book of the Law shall not depart out of my mouth,

but I shall meditate in it day and night that

I may have said to do according to all that

is written in it. For then I will make my reprosperous,

and then I.

Will have good success. Amen.

Our topic for today is people pleasing, and our first

scripture to be taken from Exodus thirty two is one

to five. When the people saw how long it was

taking Moses to come back from the mountain, they gathered

around Aaron. Come on, they said, make us some gods

who can lead us.

We don't know what's.

Happening to this fellow Moses who brought us here from

the land of Egypt. So Aaron said, take the gold

rings from the ears of your wives and sons and daughters,

and bring them to me. All the people took the

gold rings from their ears and brought them to Aeron.

Then Aaron took the gold, melted it and molded it

into the shape of a calf.

When the people saw.

It, they exclaimed, Oh, Israel, these are the goals who

brought you out of the land of Egypt. Aaron saw

how excited the people were, so he built an order

in front of the calf. Then he announced, tomorrow will

be a festival to the Lord.

Amen.

Our second scripture reading will be taken from Exodus thirty

two twenty one to twenty five. Finally, he turned to

Aaron and demanded, what did these people do to you

to make you bring such terrible sin upon them.

Don't get so upset.

My lord, Aaron replied, you yourself know how evil these

people are. They said to me, make us called who

will leaders? We don't know what's happened to the fellow

Moses who brought us here from the land of Egypt.

So I told them, whoever has gold drearied take it off.

When they brought it to me, I simply threw it

into the fire, and now it came the scuff mostly

so that Aaron had let the people get completely out

of control, so much.

To the amusement of their enemies, aim men. People pleasing.

One of the greatest struggles we face is a desire

to be accepted, approved of, and appreciated by others. Wanting

to be loved, appreciated, and accepted. It's not wrong in itself, However,

when that desire becomes excessive, it can begin to affect

us negatively. When we become overly concerned with whether people like, love,

or accept us, we may start doing things simply to

gain their approval, even when those things go against our values, convictions.

Or beliefs. We do whatever it takes to be noticed, appreciated,

or love. This is what we can or people pleasing.

People pleasing often causes us to ignore goose directions and

neglect our own well being. We become so focused on

meeting the expectation of others that we sacrifice our comfort, health, emotions, peace,

and even our relationship record. Some may think this is

only a struggle for young people, but that is far

from the truth. People pleasing follow us into adulthood if

it is not the alterate. It can show up in

the workplace when we compromise our values to gain favor

with a boss or secure promotion. It can show up

in our finances when we spend beyond our means just

to fit into a certain social cycle. It can also

show up in parenting when we enroll our children in

schools we cannot afford simply to maintain a certain image.

The need to be accepted can become so strong that

we begin making decisions b on what others think rather

than what God says.

The truth is, when we allow.

Other people's opinions to determine our choices, we gave them

contue over our lives. People pleasing ex costly. It drains

our time, energy, money, and emotional strength. More importantly, it

can cause us opportunities, peace, purpose, and intimacy. Record in Genesis,

when Moses went up to Mount Sinai, the Usuelizes pressured

Aaron to build them an idol because they hadn't heard

from God or Moses. Because of fear of the crowd

and wanting to keep everyone happy, Aaron gave in and

fashioned the Golden cuf by using the people's goal to

make a God for them to worship. When Moses finally

came down when saw what's happened, he confronted error, but

Aaron deflicted blame and made excuses that it was the

people that asked him to do it. His desire for

human approval damage his relationship record and ultimately cost him

his opportunity and purpose. We must remember that our word

is not determined by people's opinions. Our identity is found

in God as choice. Mayor once said, God likes me,

and I like me. If you don't like me, then

you've got a problem. If God likes me, who cares

that everybody doesn't approve of everything I do? The beautiful

truth is this, Nothing you ever do will make God

love you less. His love is secure, constant, and unconditional.

When we are confident in God's love for us, we

are free from the exhausting heed to and the approval

of others.

Amen.

Our memory verse is taken from Gallatians one, verse ten,

and it says, obviously I'm not trying to win the

approval of people, but of God. If pleasing p people

were my goal, I would not be christ servants. Ammen,

Let's pray, Lord, she says, We thank you for today.

We thank you for the opportunity to hear your word.

We asked that, Oh God, that you will give us

a great in strength to live our lives according to

your word and your will for us, but not based

on what other people have to say or what the

world says about.
