MGD: Eternal Investments - 2

Shalom, wonderful family, and welcome to today's morning glory devotion.

My name is Joshua from Harvest Chapel International com Mercy,

and it is a privilege to be Fascibra dating today's

morning glory devotion. Please, let's pray, Father, thank you for

your goodness and kindness towards us. Lord, we pray and

commit all time your word this morning into your hands.

Please put over us, refresh us and empower us. Please

cause your light to shine on our and lives through

your way and transform us in the name of Jesus

super tanksgiving.

Amen.

Please let's take our confession from Joshua, chapter one, verse eight. Joshua,

Chapter one, verse eight. This book of the Law shall

not the part out of my mouth, but I shall

meditate in it day and night, that I may observe

to do according to all that is written in it.

For then I will make my way prosperus, and then

I will have good success. Amen. Today's discourse is.

The second part of a three part series titled Eternal Investments.

Eternal Investments, the series is focused on how we can

lay up treasures for ourselves in heaven, as admonished by

our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the first part of the series.

We looked at the qualification we need in order to

be able to lay up treasures for ourselves in heaven,

which is being born again into God's family. Our for

course today will be to lend some practical ways we

can lay up treasures for ourselves in heaven. Our scripture

reading will be from Matthew to the six Verse nineteen

to twenty one Matthew to six West nineteen to twenty one,

reading from the New King James version.

It says, do.

Not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, wear morth

and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal,

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither

moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break

in and steal. For where your treasure is there, your

heart will be also amen. Recently, my senior high school

classes year group was a page was suddenly revived after

years of dominancy when the group moderator pointed out that

next year, twenty twenty seven, would mark twenty years since

our year group graduated. This opened up talks about how

to commemorate the event and about what legacy to build for.

Our Alma matter.

People started coming out of the woodwork, and everyone seemed

excited about deciding on and planning what legacy to leave

behind as we marveled at how much time has passed. Beloved,

it is great to be legacy minded, to think about

future generations, and to leave something to posterity that would

make their lives better than ours was. But Beloved, we

must remember that every earthly legacy will be destroyed sooner

than later. In fact, there are very few things here

on earth that have the capacity to last forever, and

one of these things is the Word of God. Jesus,

speaking in My Future twenty four, verse thirty five, says

that heaven and earth will pass away, but my words

will by no means pass away, Beloved, What this means

is that any effort and investment we make in knowing

and studying God's Word is an investment with eternal benefits.

The Word of God never becomes obsolete, and it is

as external as God is, so any investment we make

in studying and imbibing the Word of God is never

in vain. In fact, it is impossible to overstate the

importance of the Word of God. To our ability to

lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven, because it is

in God's word that we find and learn how to

even lay have preasures for ourselves in heaven. And it's like

a rule book or a contract document that tells us

all we need to know and do in order to

maximize our eternal investments. This leads us to another of

the few things here on earth that have the capacity

to last forever, and that is the work we do

for God, or our service to Him, which the scriptures

also referred to as our labors of love. The writer

of the Book of Hebrews says in Hebrews Plus six,

verse ten that for God is not unjust to forget

your work and labor of love. Wus you have shown

towards His name in that you have ministered to the saints,

and do minister and invest. Be that chat of five,

verse three to four. It says, don't lord it over

the people assigned to your care, but lead them by

your good example, and when the Great Shepherd appears, you

will receive a crown of never ending globy and honor.

Amen.

Beloved, God has eternal rewards in store for those who

invest your time treasures and talents in his word and

his work, and he spells this out for us in

several instances in the scriptures. Beloved, it is great to

build and leave behind an ethnic legacy, but it is

even more important to build a heavenly legacy, which is eternal. Beloved,

know work we do for God is ever insignificant. Able

Suppose says in First Corinthians after fifteen, verse fifty eight B,

that we should always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for

we know that nothing we do for the Lord is

ever useless. So, Beloved, what are you doing for the Lord?

How much time and effort and treasure do you invest

in this world? How much have you invested in your

private expression of love to Him and your devotion and

obedience to its will? And how much have you invested

in the public demonstration of love to Him by ministring

to other believers and those around you. Beloved, you may

be a new believer, or you may be a mature believer. Nonetheless,

it will not be wrong to take some time to

review the distribution of your investment and consider if you

truly have been making eternal investments. As we think about

what ethy legacy to leave behind for generations that will

come after us. Let us also consider how to leave

behind an eternal legacy.

fifteen verse fifty eight, First Corinthians step of fifteen verse

fifty eight. So, my dear brothers and sisters be strong

and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you

know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

We thank you for your word that has come to

us today. We thank you for the gift of your

word and the privilege you have given us to save You. Lord,

please guide us by your holy Spirit to know and

understand your word, and help us to accurately apply the

principles that you make known to us in your word,

so that we may derive the maximum benefit from the

grace you have made available to us. In the name

of Jesus, you pray with thanksgiving.
