MGD: Doing Good - 1

Let your light so shine before men that they may

see your good works and glorify your father in heaven. Beloved,

this is steady, you says, come in your way with

gracious Father, thank you for another privilege to be alive.

Thank you for surrounding our lives with your goodness. We

commit our time of steady into your hands, Leaders, and

guide us into your truth in Jesus mighty name. Amen. Amen,

let's kindly take a confession from Josh chapter one, verse eight.

Josh chapter one, verse eight. This book of the Law

shall not depart from my mouth, but I shall meditate

a next day and nights that I may observe to

do according to all that is written in it. For

then I will make my way across pross, and then

I will have good success. Amen. Our thing for study

today is doing good, doing good, And our scripture reading

shall be taken from Galicians chapter six, verse nine and ten.

Galicians chapter six, verse nine and ten. I would be

reading from the New King James version. And let us

not grow wary while doing good, for in due season

we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore,

as we have opportunity, let us do good to all,

especially to those who are of the household of faith.

The Lord add his blessings to the reading of his word.

Thanks lead to God, Amen, doing good. Doing good One

of the major hallmarks of the Christian faith is doing

good deeds. It is a characteristic that usually gives us

out as Christians as children of light. The Bible admonishes

us in Matthew chapter five, the verse sixteen, to let

our lights shine through our good works, that men may

glorify our Father, who is in heaven. Before I signed

up to be a Christian, I saw that to do

good list of the faith as something very simple to follow.

After all, how difficult is it to help the needing

in society or to treat others with dignity. It was

after signing up that I realized that doing good had

a lot more than what I anticipated. In the first

part of this series, we'll try to understand what it

means to do good from Jesus's perspective. While on ep

our Master Jesus, in a space of three years, taught

us more about what it really means to do good

than any philanthropists could ever do in a lifetime. It

was nothing to do with how miracle lost. These acts

of goodness were done by him. Yes, he healed the sick,

he claimed the lepers, he cast out demons, attended to

the knee of the poor father hungry, and raised the dead. However,

underlying all these good deeds was a heart deep seated

in love and having no selfish ambition, with no strengths attached.

These are their underlying factors that made him travel far

and wide, mostly on foot, passionately and willingly, doing good

in every corner, and not seeking a reward. It was

these same factors that often got him telling the people

he healed, and claims not to tell anyone, for he

sought neither fame, press nor applause. And so looking at

the examples of Jesus really calls some of the so

called good deeds we see and do on a regular

basis into question. Where they turned willingly and passionately out

of love with no strengths attached. The truth is man

after the four has been configured to be self seeking

by default. And this is how I know it is

true whenever I first received the shot of a group

picture taken with family or friends, the first person I

seek to see is me? Or do you do otherwise?

And so, how can.

We do good? Like Jesus? How can we meet the

heavily standard of doing good not just sometimes but all

the time? Acts Chapter ten, verse thirty eight holds the

answer to these questions. It tells us that Jesus went

about doing good because God anointed him with the Holy

Ghost and with power. Yes, there is power to do good,

and it comes from the Father. This power takes us

beyond just being morally good. It enables us to always

do good like Jesus, ever willing with love on thing,

seeking the good of others first by default. And so

how do we plug into this power? First? Is simply

by asking, sincerely, God anoints me with the Holy Ghost

and with power. Jesus's ministry began on this note, and

ours can be no different. Can you talk to your

pastors if you have trouble understanding what it means to

receive the Holy Ghost. Secondly, like Jesus, start each day

with the Father in prayer, spend some time communing with

the Father, and commits the events of the day into

his hand. It is right there in prayer that you

will draw strength for the day's good deeds in spite

of the challenges you may face. Finally, remember that no

good deed is done in the absence of the Father.

Like the scriptures told us, God was with Jesus as

it winds about. Doing good of the Father is needed

in order to do good. God is always actively present

with us as long as we obey his word. While

we obey his word, there is power to do good

like Jesus. While he is with us, he will make

us aware of the needs of others and teach just

how best to address them in love. Before you go

about today's activities, remember to plug into the power to

do good. Stay blessed. Let us kindly take our memory

share word of prayer. Good Father, we thank you for

veiling the truth to us. Receive grace to daily plug

into the power to do good, that our lights may

shine and glorify your holy name in Jesus's mighty name. Amen, Beloved,

with our strength we will feel at doing good. The

power to do good like Jesus only comes from the Father.

Let us seek this power. By God's grace. We will
