MGD: The Necessity of Order in Our Prayer Life

Shalom. Dear listeners, we are Oscar and Glory Menza of

Harvest Chapel International. Then you make a mercy. It is

our privilege this morning to welcome you to today's morning

glory devotion. It is titled the Necessity of Order in

our prayer life. I repeat, the necessity of Order in

our prayer life. Please, let's pray our dear Lord and

Master Jesus, thank you for the gift of life you

have given us this morning. Thank you for bringing us

together to learn at your feet. For where two or

three are gathered together in your name, you are there

in their midst. Thank you for your word which brings

to us light and understanding. Pay your word come to

be a lamp to our feet and to light her part,

so that we may steadfastly walk in your way in

the mighty name of Cheese as we pray. Amen. Our

main scripture is taken from Look, chapter eleven, verse nine.

And I read, and so I tell you. Keep on

asking and you will receive what you ask for. Keep

on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking and

the door will be open to you. Amen. Look. Chapter eleven,

verse one opens with a profound request from Jesus's disciples, Lord,

they said, teach us to pray. In his response, Jesus said,

this is how you should pray, meaning there was a

particular way and manner in which they and we are

supposed to pray. So he continued and taught them the

orderly prayer that we have come to know as the

Lord's prayer. We'll ask ourselves what led the disciples to

recognize the need to pray in this order. Perhaps they

observed for themselves that a master Jesus prayed in a

certain way that led to close intimacy with the Father

and delivered wondrous signs from heaven. Most importantly, Jesus heeded

to their request and taught them not only to pray,

but to pray in the right and god prescribed other

It evokes an image of a loving parent holding a

desirable gift out to their young child and teaching the

child to claim the gift in an orderly manner by saying,

please Mummy or please Daddy, can I have it? When

we accept God's instituted order in our prayer as outlined

by the Lord Jesus in look chapter eleven, verses two

to five, we begin to have and to enjoy a

very purposeful and intentional communication with God. God never intended

for us to have to rigidly recite a formula as

a prayer, but rather gave us an orderly script that

honers Him and also ceases yielding to his will. We

begin to pray by acknowledging God as our heavenly father,

and then continue by honoring and praising his name Automatically.

This moves our focus from me to Him. The prayer

and the activity becomes about God and not about us.

By praying for His kingdom to come and for his

will to be done, we yield our will and desires

to his will. Then we can proceed to ask for

our daily needs and for his messy for our trespasses.

As we continue to pray in disorder, it builds a

discipline of devotion in us, and we develop an orderly

life of prayer that is instant, and it's not only

at a time when we have a crisis or an

emergency hits us. In that lifestyle that we develop, we

become men and women who always pray and not faint

after God's own will. This orderly life of prayer leads

us to discover God's Holy Spirit and to have a

close relationship with Him. As we continue in this let

us trust God that his order in our prayer has

purposed to build our faith, and are trust in Him

for our own good. Amen. Let's meditate on our memory

verse for today, which is in Look chapter eleven, verse ten,

and it goes for everyone who receives, everyone who seeks finds,

and to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
