And now to today's message.

Let's take our conversion before we take our seats from

Joshua one verse eight. The spoke of the Law shall

not depart out of my mouth. That I shall meditate

in it today at night, that I may observe to

do according to all that is written in it. But

then I will make my way prosperous, and then I

will have good success in Jesus' name. Amen, why don't

you take your seats in open your bibles with me

to the Gospel of Luke, chapter of My eleven, where

we find our uncle scripture for the month, the brand

new month, and we're going to examine another brand new

theme in our year of Divine order as we seek

the guiding hand of God to help us bring order

into our Christian life. Hallelujah, a man, and all the

thematic areas in our lives that constitutes our Christian work

or our faith work. We are seeing our best we

can bring order into d Hallelujah, last Man. We're looking

at order in our worship lives a man, and we

have previously examined order in love and in January, we're

seeking God, Halleluyer Amen. And order in our love, order

in our worship, order in our prayer lives. Halleluia Amen.

The fact that we are seeking order is in a

way admitting that perhaps, maybe, just perhaps there's a lot

of disorder and dysfunction in these thematic areas in our

lives and so and we don't want to just go

through the motions. And as God guides us in our

discourses and then throws light in the areas that we

need to get right, we must make every effort to

correct these deficiencies or defects in our lives or in

our work with God, so that we can have much

more healthy works with God. Because if we have a

very healthy work with God, we will find out that

we enjoy the Christian life. The Christian life mustn't be endured.

Halen Luia, Amen. Like I always say, we must not

find ourselves tiptoeing into heaven. Amen. God said. The promise

is that God said he will give us life and

give us abandant life, Halenluier, give us abandant life. And

that this is desire for us. Means that our work

with God should be enjoyable. And during the First Man

we looked at some of the heroes of faith who

are listed in the Hall of Fame in the Book

of Hebrews, and we find out that the longevity in

their work with God was simply because they understood what

they had been called. That is how Carmino could work

for over three hundred years with God. We looked at

the other patriarchs that were called by God. Abraham lived

to one hundred and seventy five years. He shows up

when he was seventy five years of age. He died

at one hundred and seventy five, and so for hundred

good years at least, we don't know anything. The Bible

doesn't tell us much about his first seventy five years,

but then we about the next hundred years of his life.

He worked with God. The Bible says that he died

full of age, have been served his generation. Hearn Luia.

And we said that when we start, we must finish.

And one of the key things that is going to

help us to be able to not just start, but

also to finish with God, it's our prayer life, say amen,

Helen Louier. And by talking about prayer, we are talking

about conversations with God, Helene Louier. Remember what we always say,

we can never have a very robust and effective prayer

life if you don't equally have a robust and effective

wed life. The men our ability to engage God in conversations.

That helps us to grow and too mature and to

take our positions as children of God, you know, taking

frontline positions in the things that concern our lives and

in kingdom life and activity. It's because of our understanding

of what this whole call by God is about. Haleedlu Yeah, Amen,

And so as we are talking about our prayer life.

On one hand is our prayer life. On the other hand,

it's our wed life. They go hand in that we

always see you as effective in your prayer discourses with

God as much as you understand the word of God.

Else most of your prayer engagements with God will be

off tangent Halle Lou. Yeah, we begin to pray for

frivolous things and all those things. And when those frivolous

things that sometimes we get ourselves engaged in, when they

are there, and then there is therefore no need to

pray at all. Most of us grew up, you know,

in our homes, wherever we were, if we were taught

anything in our prayer chambers, and as we recited the

Lord's Prayer and some twenty three and all that in

some way some are we we got deeply you know,

impressed or etched in our minds and soul. That prayer

is all about asking God for the necessities of life.

Prayer is about asking for food for Raymond, and for

you know, water and a good life. And now that

economic opportunities have improved in our lives, and we have

all those basic necessities of life and are more to spare.

Many of us have stopped praying because we some way,

somehow practice by practice. From childhood, we pray to God

for the necessities of life. And now that we have

grown and matured, we have all those necessities. And therefore

why should we pray, especially people who are in our

parts of the world who because of economic impoverishment and

pray for some of these basic necessities. And so when

we get the opportunity to travel to go and seek

economic or greener pastures, to steady or God these locases

and takes us to the rich are western countries, a

lot of people just drift away from church. And you

drift away from churchwin like we always, you drift away

from your devotional life, where prayer and worship and reading

and steadying your your word is a very antigraphart of

that hallelujah. And so a lot of people have reduced

our prayer intercourses to asking God for things. And once

those things that would have asked God for we have

them in any case, why pray? So a lot of

us stop praying, and somewhere some once we stop praying,

gradually we drift away from God and then we get

back to our default sitting where we came presidents of

war in Satan's camp by default because of Adam's first

sing most of us, all of us, all Adam's offspring,

and that includes you and I. We were born in

Satan's camp. It takes the redemption exercise. It takes the

pain of the price on our head to get us

rescued and translated, like the Bible said, out of Satan's

domain of darkness into the Sun's kingdom of light. Halen Lujah,

and all these truths that we are talking about, and

it's all found in the Word. If you don't engage

God in the Word, you're not going to be able

to find purpose in praying. And when you don't have

purpose in praying, in invariably you don't have purpose in living.

And you live your life anywhere, just anyhow, and you'll

be very very very fortunate to make it to heaven.

Halen Lujiah a man, because there's no purpose for living

for God say, will entangle you, and you will just

drift away, Harley Louiah, a man. Prosperity in your life

as a child of God, it should rather lead to

greater depths of dedication. Look at Abraham he was so

rich God and down in with a lot of wealth.

And yet, Sir, when he died at one seventy five,

four hundred good years, the portrait of the scriptures is

that he lived for God. He stayed close to God,

he worked out his responsibilities in the covenant, and God

stayed with him till the end. All the people that

live for God in their age, Halen Louiah, they recognized

their purpose transcended about the wealth that God brought into

the allies. So why is it that in our age

a brother and sister guess and read guess a degree, guess,

a pd, married, guest children. Why should we drift away?

Is should draw us closer to God? Why should we

stop praying because we now have a good car? Halle?

It means that you never understood why we're praying in

going to be taken from look chapter eleven, the very

first verse. And what I'm going to do is we

let's read through, maybe from the best one to tear team,

and we'll come back to finding, you know, some of

the reasons for our prayer lessness or the lack of

effectiveness in our prayer engagements with God. And then we'll

look through the scriptures, hopefully and we'll be able to

get some of the solutions or the answers to prayer halleluier,

or the deficiencies that we recognize in our prayer, because

we are going to have no one else by the

author of prayer, Jesus Christ, God the Son himself teaching.

And that's what I like about the theme for the month,

or the verse from which our uncle scripture. Now look

at that. He says, Now it came to pass that

as he was praying, this one puts it very well.

He says, Now Jesus was praying in the second place,

and when they finished, one of the disciples said to him, Lord,

teach us to pray as John taught his disciples. Verse two.

Let's read till thirteen, and then we'll start at discover.

Verse two says that I'm reading now from the NKG.

So it said to them, when you pray, say our

Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom. Come.

Your will be done on earth as it ta is

in heaven. So we are taking note of the elements

that Jesus prescribed, or the thematic areas that Jesus prescribes

for us when we engage God in Christ, not just

our bread and butter, even though we are going to

come to that. Halle Luiah in man and write in

his opening verses as he teaches, teaches and instructs us

in the rudiments of prayer. Harlen Luier, it sets up

on high the kingdom a gender. So he said to them,

when you pray our Father in heaven, say our Father

in heaven, hallow it be your name, your kingdom. Can't

Then Verse three says, give us day by day our

daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we also

forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not

lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Look,

you know, I like sometimes look, Luke gives a lot

us a lot of death. Because as we know, Luke

was a physician. He was a doctor. He was very learned,

and he researched his gospel, and so he talked or

he spoke to the living people who were there before

he wrote his gospel at the time that he rob

It is believed that Mark's gospel was already there, from

which he draws extensively, probably Matthew Zona. I think Matthew

was also there. But most of the disciples who had

worked with Jesus, including Mary and all those people, they

were alive, and Luke took the pains to go and

talk to them with a disciple before he chronicled his gospel.

And so sometimes for some of the areas where Mark

does in elaborate, he tries to elaborate. So that's why

we have this elaboration from whoever he got his I mean,

the source of this teaching from me. So he goes

on and tells us in bespite that Jesus continued and

said to them, which of you shall have a friend,

and go to him at midnight he's not teaching on prayer,

and say to him, friend, lend me three loaves. Where

a friend of mine has come to me on his journey,

and have nothing to say before him. And he will

answer from within and say, do not trouble me. The

door is now shut, and my children now with me

in bed. I cannot rise and give to you, I

say to you, though he will not rise and give

to him, because he is his friend. Yet because of

his persistence, he will rise and giving as many as

in a lot of people quit the habit of praying

because they say that when they pray, God has in

answer no show. And after all, me, now I'm medicated,

I end a big pay packet, So why should I say, Jesus?

And when you pray, pray that God give us this

day daily break. The daily bread is there. All I

need is my check book or my credit card, and

then the daily bread is there. So why do I

go on my knees and say, God give me this

day my daily bread? And some that were rushingly say, yeah,

he has paid me, He has given me a good job,

So no need to bother him with you know, give

me this day daily bread. Just go to the grocery shop,

go to the supermarket wherever it is now online marketain

is now the one that is trending. Shop everything that

you need, and then go about your business. Why pray

some of us to when we pray it like we say,

nothing happens. So I pray one to the thing that

they happen. Why should I persist in prayer? So there

are people not yea, and there are people in check

these day. They are not desirous of seeing the hand

of God in all the enterprise. And students go to

is cheating. Then he also cheats, and then he passes.

Why should he pray? And first when the exams comes again,

they have taught us. Then the people in the kingdom,

for a wife? Why I pray for a husband? Now

the people in church are saying that they are looking

around and they are looking at all the litany of

marriages that I failed. So now they don't even see

why they should marry. And so why should they pray

for a married pattern because most of the marriages that

they know that they see it is ending on the rocks.

So by ally stated, when they look at it, it

will end on the rock. So why pray come anybody

who comes. It's for short term purposes. It's not a

lifetime something anyway, you're the first person who comes. Okay,

let's do it first season. When we get tired, we

go separate with It's all because, like I said, the information,

the knowledge might who perish for lack of knowledge one hand,

prayer the other hand the word of God. Read the

word of God. You understand the place of prayer. You

are not reading the word of God, so the prayer

less in the church. It's all because people are being God.

In the world they don't say of God. And in

the world, God has given us a personal revelation of him,

stuff his identity that is only putent, his only share

and only pressient. And he has a gender. He created

this world, not just in futility. He has a purpose

in mind, and that a gender is working. You come

in the reading of the way that God is sobbing

and what is happening is like a movie that is unfolding.

But God has never let his answer off his world.

And most of all, you will learn that this life,

it is not just about this life. There is another

life to live. There's part two of chapter number two

that is yet to unfold, and that how we get

to enjoy Chapter Nama two of our lives is dependent

on what happens to us in chapter nama one of

our lives. And so when you are living chapter one

of your life, you are careful to examine the book

to make sure that you will be able to be

a part of chapter number two when God says that

He's going to bring this current experiment of this world

or chapter number one to an end. And allsha the

faith food men and women who are faith who held

on to God like the men of old, Helen Lawyer,

so that even when the church is not calling for

a prayer a meeting. Look, when you understand these things,

even your your your devotional life, you will regularize it.

You regularize it. I am always because that is the

parting that we find in the life of the saints

and Jesus Christ and Master. I am for that endly

morning engagement with God in prayer before we step out, Amen,

Helen Louier. And many of them, you will hear more

of things that no. You hear people say that these

days fast, that I don't get that enough time to pray,

You don't have enough time to pray most of them.

That is not it, Helen Louier. Amen, you become self

dependent and you always become self dependent when you are

drifting away. If we are very very very honest to admit,

most often, when we can't pray, we don't enjoy pray,

we drift away from the prayer. It's most often they

are symptoms of backsliding Helen Louier. We will come to

that in the because you realize that contrarily contrally, the

more you get the answers to prayer, the more it

governizes you and then moves you to pray more more.

Prayer answers doesn't let you drift away from the prayer altar.

It rather has a way of gluing you to the

prayer altar, because sooner than later you learn that in

Him will live and move and have our being. I

dare not drift away from the prayer all. So any

time you tell me that these days I don't get

time to pray, I don't have time to pray, I

know you are drifting up. You don't have to say it.

You don't have time to pray. In Him, you live

and move and have your bee. So how are you breathing? Amen? Prayer?

Prayer is like the breath of life in a in

a Christian life, you can't pray. You are dying. You

are suffocating yourself and strangle it in the life of

God in you. So here you talked about the persistence

on ansaid prayers. We have a lot, each one of us,

the people who pray, You have a lot. You have

when you come to the shelf where anset prayer. There's

a lot. When you look at your the shelf ware

on unsert prayer to the air lotch hallelujah. Some of

them label wait, some of them know. Doesn't make us

stop to pray. No, because that's the experience of all.

Because your reading is in the Bible. Will let you

people that dare to pray. There's a self answer, pray

another one no, another one waits. But we don't stop

praying hallelujah. We'd rather persist. And then let's go on

nine to teteen. So I say to you ask, talking

still trying to answer and telling us about the perplexity

of delayed answers to prayers. And he said, so I

say to you, ask, and it will be given to

you sick, and you will find knock and it will

be open to you for everyone who asks receives, and

he who seeks finds, And to him who knocks, it

will be open. If a son asks for prayer from

any father among you, will he give him a stone?

Or if he asks for a fish, will he give

him a serpent instead of a fish. Or if he

asks for one egg, will he offer him a scorpio?

Then he goes on investating our last verse for our

discusses on prayer. If you, then, being evil, know how

to give good gifts to your children, how much more

will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those

who asks for him? And in this last verse, and

the apostle look or doctor Luke tells us, And if

you like helps us to connect with this is Jesus

resource that makes for effective prayer, the Holy Spirit of God.

And you and I, who know that the Holy Spirit

of God is a necessity in every believer's life, is

the chief race of that God gives to all his children.

Like once we say, who genuinely sincerely gets born again,

And that without the Holy Spirit, indeed we cannot have

the Christian life. We can have no fellowship with God.

We are not recognized in the courts of heaven as

a bona fide child of God without the Holy Spirit.

Because Paul makes us understand that the Holy Spirit is

the chief seal the authenticity of the Christian life or

the or a child of God. When you get born

again and God judges you has been sincere and authentic,

he seals us with his Holy Spirit. He stamps us.

So now all the heavens can see and recognize us

that we are the children of God. Then John one

twelve comes into being, says all who believed in him

and received him, he gave them power to become the

children of God. How bored anointed Jesus of Nazer with

the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went

about doing good? Because God, what's with him? Bringing healing

and deliverance to the sick and your press? Simply because

God what's with him? The Holy Spirit? And Jesus makes

sure that he lets us understand in this teaching about

the necessity of the Holy Spirit and the preparedness of

God to give the Holy Spirit to they that asked,

how do you ask about it? When you get born again?

If you ask the Holy Spirit, all that is telling

is that coming to a covenant relationship, renowncin repent, turn around,

stop doing what you are doing. You can't stop it

on your own. That's why you come into a covenant

relationship with you and let your desire for a brand

new like the genuine nbcince here. When God, who reads

our house, That's why I mentioned his quality is his

only paid omnicient. He knows all things, is only potent,

all powerful. He's only present is everywhere. At the same time,

his o minitians will let him know whether your professional

faith is genuine and sincere. When he adjudges that indeed

it is, he will seeing you with your Holy Spirit,

then he will give you the pressure's gift of the

Holy Spirit, and then your Christian life will start. Halen Lujah, Amen.

And when the Holy Spirit comes in, He's going to

bring order Halen Lujah into our lives, our man.
