MGD: Driving with God - 1

Shalom. Dear listeners, we are Oscar and Glory Osai Manza

of Host Chapel International Dayam Coumancy. It's our privilege this

morning to welcome you to today's morning glory devotion. We'll

bring you a three part series title Driving with God.

Pat one of the series subtitle The Rearview Mirror, Remembering

so we don't forget the good or repeat our mistakes. Please,

let's pray our dear Lord and Master Christ, Jesus, thank

you for the gift of life you have given us

this morning. Thank you for bringing us together to learn

at your feet. For very two or three are gathered

together in your name, you are there in their midst.

Thank you for your word, whose entrance brings us light,

life and understanding. May your word come to be a

lamp to her feet and to light her parts, so

that we may constantly walk in your way. In the

Mighty name of Jesus. Pray, Amen, belved and scriptire references.

This morning, I take him from You've drawn on me

chapter eighth, verse two, which reads, remember how the Lord

your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years,

humbling you and testing you to prove your character and

to find out whether or not you don't bear his commands.

The next scripture reference is taken from Psalm seventy seven,

verse eleven, and it reads, but then I recall all

you have done, Oh Lord, I remember your wonderful deeds

of long ago. Amen. The next scripture reference is taken

from Isaac forty three, verse nineteen, and it reads, for

I'm about to do something new. See I've already begun.

Do you not see it? I will make a pathway

through the worldness, I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Amen, beloved,

Picture yourself driving in traffic. You don't keep staring into

the rearview mirror, but every minute or so you'll go

and sup at it to see what is happening behind

you or what is coming up behind you. A driver

who never checks the rearview mirror might get hit. But

then a driver too who only stares into the rear

view mirror or crash into a vegl or a pedestrian

a head. In the same way, God has given us

a rear view mirror espiritu our one or remembrance. God's

review mirror shows us his past faithfulness, so we can

trust him today. David put it this way in Psalm

seventy seven, verse eleven to twelve. I'll remember the deeds

of the Lord. Yes, I'll remember your wonders of old.

I'll ponder all your work and meditate on your mighty deeds.

God told the people of Israel in U draw me

a to remember the whole way that he the Lord,

led them through out the wilderness for forty good years.

How he fed them with manner, clothed them such that

their clothing never wore out, nor did they are fits well.

He also called to their remembrance how he took them

through the entire forty years and through other wilderness, to

humble and test what was in their heart, whether they

would keep His commandments or not. Remembering the goodness of

the Lord causes us to be thankful, and so usurpraises

in our heart to God. The Psalmist nailed it when

he wrote in Psalms one O three, verses one to four,

Bless the Lord, or my soul and all that is

within me, Bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, oh

my soul, and forget not all his benefits. He forgives

all my sins and heals my diseases, he redeems my

life and crowns me with tendernesses. Amen. When the cares

of life and perplexities come, we become fearful and then

forget that God is with us. When the rent is deal,

when your child is sick, or when business is slow,

the only thing the enemy wants you to do is

to think and to act as if God has never

come true for you before. In such situations, the rearview mirror,

which brings remembrance of the goodness of the Lord in

times past, should be our testimony. A testimony perhaps that

God healed me a year ago and gave me that

job when I had no prospects and no connections. A

testimony perhaps that God saved my marriage and bless my home.

Let's be mindful that the same God who did this

is in the past, who do the same now. Checking

the rear view in these times build's faith, for whatever

was written in fourer days was written for our instruction,

says Romance, Chapter fifteen, verse four. The rear view also

shows us our mistakes, so we can learn from God's

past faithfulness, redemption and pardon, but not remain stack and fixated.

On the past. The Tronome chapter eighth, verse two says

that God led them, that is, the people of Israel,

to know what was in their hearts. Looking back, we

can see where pride caused us to four, where we

reacted in anger, and where we compromise to sin in

the same way. There are some things that God allowed

us to pass through so that we might know what

is in our heads. We learn our lessons and then repent.

First John chapter one, verse nine says, if we've confessed

our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us

and cleanse us from all long righteousness. However, if we

constantly fix our gaze on the rearview mirror whiles driving forward,

or have an accident, in other words, we'll miss the

new things that God is doing. Therefore, we need to

keep moving forward whilst keeping in remembrance all that the

Lord has done for us in the past. Isaah forty three,

verse nineteen says, Behold, I'm doing a new thing. Now

it springs forth. Do you not perceive it? I will

make a way in the wilderness and raverse in the

desert as we go through the second half of the year.

Let's take a glance at our re humrus and reflect

on the goodness of the Lord. It will build faith

in us and give us course to be thankful. Also,

it will help us identify our mistakes and shortcomings. By

the help of the Holy Spirit. We will then be

able to make amends and more importantly, move forward in

faith and not remain stack a man. Today's memory verse

is taken from Philippians Chatter three, verse fourteen, and it reads,

I press on towards the goal for the price of

the upward core of God in Christ Jesus. I repeat,

I press on toward the goal for the price of

the upward call of God in Christ, Jesus Belaved. Thank
