MGD: Driving with God - 3

Shalom. Dear listeners, we are Oscar and glory Osa mention

of Harvest Chapelain International, Danyamico Mercy. We welcome you to

today's morning glory, devotion and our privilege to have you

with us. We bring you the final part of our series,

driving with God. Three Mirrors for the Journey. Part three

of the series is subtitled a windscreen keeping our eyes

on Jesus and the road ahead. Shall we pray, O,

Heavenly Father, thank you for once more bringing us together

at your feet this morning. Thank you for the gift

of life that you have given us. We pray, Oh God,

that your word will take seed in our heart and

grow to yield fruit thirtyfold, sixtyfold, and one hundredfold in us.

Thank you, O God. We pray that help us to

keep our eyes on Christ Jesus, and to walk steadfastling

your way in the name of Jesus. Pray with thanksgiving,

Amen beloved. Our main scripture is taken from Hebrews Chapter twelve,

verses one end two. Read Therefore, since we are surrounded

by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also

lay aside every weight and send which clings so closely,

and let us run with endurance the race that is

set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfector

of her faith, who for the joy that was set

before him, and deer the cross, the spice, and the shame,

and is seated at the right hand of the throne

of God a man. The windscreen is more than five

times bigger than all the other mirrors combined in your car.

Why because driving is ninety percent looking forward. Driving instructors teach,

look where you want to go. If you stare at

the gutter, you end up in the gatter. If you

concentrate on the wayside scenery, you will end up drifting

of the road and will crash. The Christian life, Beloved,

is the same. We look to Jesus, the founder and

perfector of our faith, and we keep our focus on him,

otherwise we will crash. Beloved, The windscreen calls us to

fix our eyes on Jesus. In Colossians Chapter three, Verse

one and two, I read, if then you have been

raised with Christ, seek the things that are above where

Christ is. Set your minds on things that are above.

The world is full of distractions competing for our attention.

Comparisons are all over on social media, other people's progress

becomes the focus of the crowd. There is the fear

of the future. There's the fear of failures, both past

and future. They are all like billboards on the side

of the road. But the windscreen says, keep looking ahead,

focus on Jesus. Jesus is gentle when you are tired.

He is wise when you are confused. He is enough

when you feel empty. The windscreen causes us to drive

with purpose on the highway to Heaven. Proverbs four twenty

five to twenty seven says, let your eyes look directly forward,

ponder the path of your feet. Then all your ways

will be sure. Do not swear to the right or

to the left. Turn your foot away from evil. Every

driver has a destination. Without one, you waste through. Our

destination is Heaven and our way markus our christ likeness,

and the fruits of God's Holy Spirit. Matthew chapter six,

first thirty three says seek first the Kingdom of God

and his righteousness. So before you say yes to that meeting,

that trip, or to that relationship, just ask yourself, does

this take me closer to Jesus or feather from him?

Is this part of God's rode for me or am

I taking a detail, Beloved, the windscreen requires both hands

on the steering wheel. You cannot drive forward with just

one hand. Every driving instractor says, keep both hands on

the steering wheel. We drive forward with two hands. These

are represented by the Word of God and prayer. In

Joshure chapter one, verse eight, we read this book of

the Law shall not depart from your mouth. This represents

the word and the focus on it. First. The Salonians

chapter five, verse seventeen reads pray without season. That represents

the call to prayer, and that is it. It's both

hands firmly on the wheel. Thirty minutes with Jesus in

the morning can clear your windscreen for the whole day, Beloved.

As we wrap up the series, let's keep being mindful

of being a safe driver on the narrow Way to Heaven.

A safe driver number one keeps looking at a rear

view mirror. In that way you remember God's faithfulness, you

learn from the past, but don't remain stuck there. The

safe driver number two uses the side mirrors. In this way,

you will invite the Holy Spirit and godly people to

show you your blind spots. And then in godly repentance,

you move away from them. The safe driver number three

keeps their eyes focused on the windscreen. In that way,

you keep your eyes on Jesus and drive straight on

towards His kingdom. You will never crash if you keep

checking all three of them. Let's meditate on today's memory verse,

which is Provabs, Chapter three, verse five and six, and

it reads, trust in the Lord with all your heart,

in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and he will make

straight your parts. Amen, beloved, thank you and God bless
