Shalon beloved, thank you for joining us right here on
-
Radio HCI today for today's morning Glory devotion. We are
-
the kill Sins from Harvest Chapel International, Daniemko Marsi, and
-
we deem it a great privilege to come your way
-
once again with today's message. Let us kindly share a
-
word of prayer. Dear Father, we thank you for gathering
-
us under your feet to hear your word. Please enlighten
-
us once again in Jesus his name. Amen, let us
-
kind of take our confession for today from Joshua, Chapter one,
-
verse eight. Joshua, Chapter one, the verse eight. This book
-
of the Law shall not depart from my mouth, but
-
I shall meditate in it day and night, that I
-
may observe to do according to all that is written
-
in it. For then I will make my way prosperous,
-
and then I will have good success. Amen. Today's message
-
is titled The Freedom of Letting Go. The Freedom of
-
Letting Go, written by Pastor and Missus Bruce Smith. Our
-
scripture reading shall be taken from Collusions, Chapter three, the
-
verse twelve to thirteen. Collusions Chapter three, the verse twelve
-
to thirteen. I will be reading from the New international version. Therefore,
-
as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clode yourselves
-
with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other,
-
and forgive one another. If any of you has a
-
grievance against someone, forgive as the Lord forgive you. The
-
Lord add his blessings to the reading and hearing of
-
his word. Thanks be to God Aimen the freedom of
-
letting go. It doesn't take one to live long enough
-
to know the quiet ache of being hurt by someone
-
you trusted. A sharp word spoken in anger, a betrayal
-
from a close friend, a promise broken without second thought.
-
When someone wounds us deeply, our natural response is to
-
tighten our grip. We replay the secondstance in our minds,
-
rehairs what we should have said or done, and without
-
realizing it, we carry out our fence like a heavy
-
stone everywhere we go. Before long, we ruin what was
-
once a beautiful relationship. As CS. Louise observed, everyone says
-
forgiveness is a lovely idea until they have something to forgive.
-
It is easy to tell people to forgive, but in
-
practice it often feels impossible. We worry that if we forgive,
-
we are saying that what happened to us did not matter,
-
or that we must immediately walk back into a situation
-
that broke our hearts. To forgive simply means to cancel
-
a debt. It is an active choice of the heart
-
to stop holding a person hostage in your mind. It
-
is deciding that you will no longer demand payment or
-
wait for them to make things right before you choose
-
to have peace. True forgiveness is not pretending that wrong
-
was right. It is not excusing the injury or playing
-
down your pain. It is looking the wound in the
-
eye and choosing to release the offender anyway, remembering that
-
we ourselves are beneficiaries of a greater demonstration of mercy
-
and continue to benefit from Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Beloved,
-
forgiveness does not mean you will automatically forget what happened.
-
You may still remember the event, but through the grace
-
of God, the memory slowly loses a sharp sting and
-
the bitter poison is drained away. When Jesus hang on
-
the cross, looking down at the very men who nailed
-
him there, he prayed, Father, forgive them, for they do
-
not know what they do. He did not wait for
-
them to apologize. He sounded the right to strike back.
-
Joseph chose to let go and forgive his brothers. Stephen
-
forgave his accusers when stoned to death, and the prodigal
-
son was accepted again by his father. It is now
-
our tend to let go that hurt. God is asking
-
us to unclench our fists. For holding onto resentment does
-
not change the person who has us. It only keeps
-
us bound to the memory. When you forgive, you are
-
not letting them off the hook. You are letting yourself
-
out of the prison. Amen, let us kindly take our
-
memory verse for today. Our memory verse is taken from
-
Ephician chapter four, the verse thirty two. Efficient chapter four,
-
the verse thirty two. And be kind to one another,
-
tender hearted forgiving one another, even ask God in Christ
-
forgive you. And be kind to one another, tender hearted
-
forgiving one another, even ask God in Christ forgive you. Amen,
-
let us kind of share a word of prayer, ever
-
loving and forgiving, Father, we thank you for the blessing
-
of today's word. We admit we have not been as
-
forgiven as you are. We receive grace to let go
-
of any pain or heads that was cast at the
-
hands of any offender. Lighten our hearts from bitterness and
-
give us the grace to forgive and surrender the right
-
to strike back, even without a qualified apology. We receive
-
strength to let go of that offense. Make us loving
-
and forgiving, just like you have always been in Jesus's name. Amen, God,
-
richly bless you for staying all through today's message. We
-
hope to have you here again at the same time
-
tomorrow morning, by God's grace. Keep listening to Radio HCI
-
today for more spread field content. Stay blessed shalom.
