  2. to have a true encounter with God through his word?

  3. Then listen to Lorgus ramer I with Reverend Doctor Joseph Baubin,

  4. head Pastor of Harvest Chapel International Commercy. He's a seasoned

  5. man of God and the teacher of the Word. In

  6. this truth and simplicity. Make time with us each and

  7. every Monday to Friday at two pm on Spirit eighty

  8. eight twenty three FM us being encounter the Word of Truth.

  9. God richly loves you. Welcome to the logo streamer are

  10. with God savant Reverend Doctor Joseph b. Being, Head Pastor

  11. of Harvest Chapel International Commercy. And now to today's message.

  12. This Book of the Law shallow de bad out of

  13. my mouth. But I shall meditate in it today and night.

  14. I will observe to do according to all that is

  15. written in it. But then I will make my way prosperous,

  16. and then I will have good success. Amen, why don't

  17. you take your seats, Just come with me too. The

  18. Book of Polosians, chapter number one, and let's read through

  19. portions of the book. Some Bible teachers have said that

  20. the Book of Colosians or Pause Letters to the Colosian Church.

  21. It's a very short book. We can be able to

  22. read through on our own within fifteen or twenty minutes.

  23. It's a very short letter is to be able to

  24. read all. And so what I plan to do as

  25. we examine the theme for the month, which is how

  26. best we can bring order in our conversations? Hallelujah. And

  27. the text of the Ankle scripture for our discourses on

  28. how best we can bring order in our conversations is

  29. taken from Collosians for verse six, and it reads that

  30. let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so

  31. that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

  32. That's the year has been there amplified. Classic puts it

  33. this way. Lad your speech at all times be gracious

  34. that means pleasant and winsome, seasoned as it were, with salt,

  35. so that you may never be at a loss to

  36. know how you ought to answer anyone who puts a

  37. question to you. And then let me read the message. Finally,

  38. he says that use your heads as you live and

  39. work among outsiders, don't miss a trick, make the most

  40. of every opportunity. I'm reading five and six years from

  41. the But the best six is that be gracious in

  42. your speech. The goal is to bring out the best

  43. in others in a conversation and not to put them down,

  44. not to cut them out. Amen. And so we have

  45. a lot of work to do for the man our best.

  46. We can bring order into our conversations. But that's what

  47. I said. Sometimes when you pick the texts, you know,

  48. from the middle of polse entire discourse, then you miss

  49. a lot, you know. So that's why sometimes it's quite

  50. helpful to approach your Bible steady holistically or book by book.

  51. Then you are able to put whatever verse that speaks

  52. to you, you are able to put it in context,

  53. having a very broad panoramic view of what the author

  54. set out to communicating the letter. Remember, I always like

  55. to point this man out that most of the letters

  56. that were written in the books of the Bible, they

  57. didn't do any chapter and any versus. No, there was

  58. one long if you like, essay or letter or narrative.

  59. And Bible scholars are the ones who have done over

  60. the years, have you know, put it in chapters and

  61. then versus because of the importance of being able to

  62. not just read but also to steady. You know, we

  63. can't conveniently put these truths into practice if we don't

  64. understand the amay, and so compartmentalizing them in chapters and

  65. versus heals the reader to follow along with the discourses

  66. that the writers. We're doing a man, and so that

  67. is how come might was one long letter, And as

  68. I said, and that's all, try to read it. But

  69. tonight I just wander us to also just read some

  70. of the excerpts that will help us when we come

  71. to chapter four, verse six, where we have picked our

  72. theme from that we must bring all that into our

  73. conversations and we'll be able to put it in rightful context. Amen.

  74. You know, so that we have said a lot of things,

  75. not just about our conversation, but our entire conduct as

  76. believers in Christ. And so hopefully as we read the

  77. excerpts as I have said, we'll be able to understand

  78. and put our conversations in the right place in the

  79. entire way we are living our Christian lives or the

  80. expectations that God has for us. The book or this

  81. letter of Paul to the church in Colose, it's one

  82. of the letters that the apostle Paul is believed have

  83. writing whilst he was in and the house arrest. That

  84. was his first imprisonment. He read the last chapter of

  85. the Book of Acts, Apostle looked letters understand that when

  86. he appealed to Caesar, he was sent to Caesar in Rome.

  87. But for the first two years he was left alone,

  88. more like he was just under house arrest, and he

  89. was allowed to receive visitors and all that. And he

  90. believed that Paul wrote the letter to the Church in

  91. Colose together with the church the letter or the Book

  92. of Ephicians Philippians Colosians, and the letter to Filing Moon,

  93. or these four letters or epistles of all our group

  94. together of style pause prison letters, because he wrote them

  95. in prison whilst awaiting trial before Caesar. And if you

  96. read this for all these, particularly these three books, you

  97. realize that most of the things are similar. He was

  98. in the same spirit as he penned down these letters

  99. here too, and typical of pause letters. He devotes there

  100. all the way that the scholars have done it for us.

  101. The first half of most of these epistles are devoted

  102. to doctrine, knowledge, wisdom and understanding, and then the second

  103. half is devoted to practical Christian living our best. We

  104. can put these thoughts the theoretical pass into practice. Amen.

  105. Remember our knowledge of God what we see it too.

  106. It must be theoretical and experiential, and they must go

  107. hand in hand. If your theoretical knowledge outgrows your experiential

  108. knowledge in Christ, then your Christian life sul I say,

  109. your work with the Lord will be stunted. You know

  110. it's not going to be whole. You read your practice,

  111. put the truth, validate it. That is how we grow,

  112. and that is how we're mature in the Lord. If

  113. we read, really read, read, and most of it we

  114. just dump it. We say, quiet time, quiet time, devotional life,

  115. we read it, we just dump it. And so we

  116. are not changing, We are not maturing. We are not

  117. becoming more christ Like as the days roll by, and

  118. in particulars reference to what we are talking about sooner

  119. than later, like he's saying and admonishing, our conversation should

  120. always be seizing with salt. Messay says, don't cut people off,

  121. don't put them down, and don't make them feel that

  122. you are not wanted around me. You're not know ledgable,

  123. you are not wise, you know, And these are some

  124. of the things that hinders, you know, the unity in

  125. the church, and it ruins relationships. If every time in

  126. conversation you're putting people down, whether you're in church, at

  127. the workplace or the marketplace, wherever you go, your people

  128. are not able to draw close to you because they

  129. know that you are put offish person. You put them

  130. off and put them in the right place sooner than later,

  131. then you're not able to draw close to you. And

  132. then the whole if you like, and let's take aspect

  133. of our work with God is dumb and God, you know,

  134. of what use is he going to teach you toory? Theory?

  135. And then you're not putting into practice. So you realize

  136. that there's a visual cycle. You're not putting the truth

  137. of the world of God into practice. The only spirit

  138. shuts off the flow of grace. If you're not prepared

  139. to imitate Jesus and to be like him and you

  140. want to lead your own life, the only spirit will draw.

  141. And that's why we have a lot of stuntard growth

  142. in church. We are not mature, we are not growing

  143. amen and we are cutting each other. We are putting

  144. each other at bay, and cliches are raising up in church,

  145. and you know, h every category, every segment of the church.

  146. This one says that I'm an aposto. You are not

  147. an apostle. This one says that you know, I'm a prophet.

  148. You you know, you know my credentials, and you know

  149. the whole church, you know, community is so divided, so discordant,

  150. and we become a laughing stalk to the world because

  151. they look at us and they say, look, the things

  152. that you guys are teaching, you are not living them out.

  153. So why do we have to join you? Because you

  154. have shown us by the way you are living your

  155. life that it is inapplicable. You can't apply it in

  156. the twenty first century, so that faith, it doesn't work.

  157. And it is all because of you and I the

  158. way we have approached it. Our practical demonstration of Christian

  159. living must go and use a Latin way in pari

  160. pursuit with our knowledge handy do here, amen, they must

  161. go hand in hand, knowledge, doctrine, practice, theoretical, practical. You

  162. read it, you validated, and you see the thing about

  163. when you validated is that it gives you a lot

  164. of energy and strength to go on and apply those throuths.

  165. Then God is it. God is looking for people who

  166. stand up and say, yeah, I am use me, I

  167. want to be your image bearer. And he has promised

  168. that he will bless us. Amen, he will bless us.

  169. God is the biggest fan base of the community of

  170. the Saints, and that is why he has gone out

  171. of his way. He didn't only die for us. It

  172. didn't only come to give us power to disable the

  173. charm and the power of saying over our lives. But

  174. it comes up also to be our biggest fan base

  175. by depositing his only spirit in us to help us

  176. be the people that he has called us to be. Amen.

  177. And it's all here. The mind transformation is doable. I

  178. can't do it. I want to do it, and I

  179. will do it, and it will help you do it.

  180. But if you still want to be your own self

  181. and say that, hey, and all that I need is

  182. the badge of salvation and born again. And you read

  183. the scriptures, and sometimes it just dawns on you that

  184. we are not reading the scriptures. Even you're born against something,

  185. the Bible says that it will be put to test.

  186. It's not about you saying it on that day, on

  187. judgment Day, it will be put to test whether it

  188. will stand. Harley Louis, I'm sure as we read through

  189. this book with So let's go. Let's start off from

  190. Colose on chapter one. I'm going to read through these

  191. three to twenty two. Can we do guess New King James, So,

  192. as I said, is the one of the prison letters

  193. Paul wrote it? Or write this letter or epistol to

  194. the church in Colose. It is not known that p

  195. Paul is not the one you read through the Book

  196. of Arts, and he didn't go to Colose to plan

  197. the church. But it is rather believed by Bible scholars

  198. that one of his disciples, a path us, is the

  199. one close was I think about hundred meters or so

  200. from episodes where Paul spend a lot of time and

  201. believe that one of the converts that's a path for

  202. us is the one who went there and then set

  203. up the church. So let's pick it up from there.

  204. Let's read through some of the and then he says,

  205. we give thanks to God and to the God and

  206. Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Praying always for you,

  207. and there's always for leaders. We must be prayer for

  208. the work that we are doing is a spiritual our way,

  209. it will always face or attract a position. And as

  210. a Christian leader, you are not praying when we call

  211. for the prayer times, you are not coming. You will

  212. disarm your leadership. You're not going to be effective. But

  213. sometimes we forget that we are accountable. Amen. I don't

  214. know about you, but the assignment that God has entrusted

  215. into our care, it's fearful. And God says that for

  216. you and I in leadership, he will judge us much

  217. more severely than those who are not. He says, to

  218. whom much is giving, much is required. And you can't

  219. do this in your kind our self. It's impossible because

  220. we are not against flesh and black, against principalities and

  221. powers spirit to our forces of darkness. Who doesn't want

  222. to see change in the children of God? Who also

  223. wants that the Christian faith will be ridiculed and God

  224. is ridiculed, the Church is ridiculed. When you and I

  225. we are not able to demonstrate living faith, that's no change.

  226. So as far as they are concerned, the church is dead,

  227. So why should they be attracted to a dead faith? Amen,

  228. we're not seeing proofs. You're not seeing signs. You're not

  229. seeing wonders because their conditionality is attached to God moving

  230. on our behalf and rewarding us for being imade baried.

  231. So he says that our Lord Jesus cribe praying always

  232. for you. That's for we're going to twenty two. Since

  233. we head of your faith. So now you can see,

  234. since we head of your faith in Christ Jesus, and

  235. of your love for all the saints, laugh for all

  236. the saints, not for some, laugh for all. Be here,

  237. we mu'st laugh or say amen, Halleluiah. I don't think

  238. that will come there. But I was reading The Poor

  239. and Say on Love in First Confidence thirty, and as

  240. I was reading through, it just tracked me that, look,

  241. we can put love and then our conversations on the

  242. parallel footing. Amen. And then it just jaels. Love is

  243. patient conversation. You should be patient. Some of that we

  244. don't know how to make conversations are thought. Oh that's

  245. why we cut people off and put them off. Hallelujah.

  246. When you are kinder and you are talking to somebody,

  247. the kindness comes out, doesn't it. We can talk kindly, Amen.

  248. He said, Love is not rude. Some of us are

  249. conversation you don't say, oh, I'm not rue, but the conversation,

  250. the way you are talking, immediately everybody knows that you're

  251. a rude guy. Halle me wi say, I have not

  252. demonstrated any but the way you are talking, your choice

  253. of words they're putting down, you make people feel are

  254. no important. You're nobody. Do you know me? You have

  255. not said it is so much worse conversation. Your conversation

  256. will betrayed whether indeed you are a person of love

  257. or not. Halen Louiah, Amen, we are not there yet,

  258. but we are still reading through Halened Louiah, Amen. And

  259. when we get there, we will read and well draw

  260. the parallels and then you see. But let's read through proportions.

  261. As I said, since we heard of your faith in Christ, Jesus,

  262. and of your love all the saints, that's five. Because

  263. of the hoop which is laid up for you in heaven,

  264. of which you had before, in the word of the

  265. truth of the God. We are going to heaven, and

  266. that is a holy place. Amen. Heaven is a holy

  267. place where God dwells. So what's your conversations? Are you

  268. demonstrating holiness? There's some word as a believers, some words

  269. you not come out of you. And we are not

  270. just talking about the ordinarily, but the spirit that backs

  271. the words, the spirit that backs the way, that is

  272. what brings the cutting. Amen. Somebody who used one word,

  273. you also use the same way. And then the spirit behind, Oh,

  274. foolish gallicians. Then you say, I want to call people

  275. by you, you're foolish. The way you say it, everybody

  276. will know that you are not caughting Paul. But there's

  277. another spirit putting people down. My poor uses that we

  278. read it and we laugh at it, old, foolish, gallicious,

  279. But you you take it up. And then the foolishness

  280. everybody coming and trapping woman the spirit. That's something. Hallelujah. Amen.

  281. So because of the hope which is later for you

  282. in heaven, of which you had before in the word

  283. of the truth of the Gospel verse six, which has

  284. come to you, as it does also in all the world,

  285. and it's bringing for fruit as it is also among

  286. you since the day you head and knew the grace

  287. of God in truth saven, as you also learn from me.

  288. Pafers to us, I said, Heparferus is the one who

  289. is believed to have set up the church in qoloity,

  290. our dear fellow Savern, who is a faithful minister of

  291. Christ on your behalf, who also declared to usk your

  292. love in the spirit. For this reason, we also, since

  293. the day we head it, do not cease to pray

  294. for you and to act that you may be filled

  295. with the knowledge of His will. In all wisdom and

  296. spiritual understanding, God has not just saved us for saving sake.

  297. He has a mindset, he has a will, He has

  298. a reason why he saved us. He has a vision

  299. to get us into Heaven. But Heaven is a holy

  300. place where God dwells. And he says that all the

  301. preparation that is needed to be a citizen of that

  302. kingdom begins here, begins here on hearth. Harlen Louiah, Amen.

  303. And God has saved us, and He's doing everything by

  304. depositing his spirit, his Holy Spirit in us to prepare

  305. us for that transition. And yes, still a lot of

  306. believers say, no, I still want to be my own

  307. self like I always says, Oh leave me, leave me

  308. and take me just as I am. No, it's on

  309. script up. There's no way in the Bible where God

  310. says that Yes, God receives us just as we are.

  311. But he applies the medicine as the doctors when you

  312. come in and then you are sick, and we apply

  313. the medicine and say you can take you are discharged,

  314. and then to cover you. You right there, he says that

  315. this patient has refused his medication, So I discharge against

  316. medical advice. So nobody holds you. Amen, we have come,

  317. but we are receiving. We are refusing the mets that

  318. God has prescribed that will bring wholeness and healing to

  319. our body, souls and spirit. And we are in church

  320. and says that leave me alone, me do what I want,

  321. and this is our take me out. You are judging me.

  322. You are judging me, and that's for me. I'm judging you.

  323. And so because of that, a lot of persons continue

  324. women and Mama, I have always said, I'm just standing

  325. on the authority of God's word and what he has

  326. taught me. It's tough being in the school of the spirit. Amen,

  327. But the fruits, the fruit, the outcome is glorious. It's

  328. beautiful when you allow him to mentor to coach you

  329. and to fashion you into the new man that he desires.

  330. To build. He said that old is gone. All things

  331. are knew. That's crucifying the old man. You don't lose anything.

  332. It's all game gain is all win win for us.

  333. And he has promised us not just for this life,

  334. but the life hereafter. He will reward us for cooperating. Amen.

  335. The challenge is two men your us. We are not

  336. cooperative with the Holy Spirit. We are not cooperating with him.

  337. You're not reading our word. If he read it, he said,

  338. this is not for me. So we step out of

  339. the the community in the marketplace, nobody recognizes as as

  340. children of God. Hey, conversation that is, he will ship

  341. your mouth sha share He said, yes, sir, he said

  342. something back. You know, for my old life. I have

  343. one word bit that if I give him that word,

  344. it will settle he said, Shah, and let him go, Papa.

  345. He will think that I'm a FOOLO. I need to

  346. say something. I need to I said, he has, he has.

  347. He has trampled on myself esteem. I should. Now he's

  348. pointing out to you. Look at the cross. Look at

  349. the cross. Look at before pilot. Look at what they

  350. did to him. They spat on him, this hitting and

  351. Peter will reference it. When he was admonishing the church

  352. in his pistol, he said, look at Jesus, I was there.

  353. He was there, and the courtier and went away beating him,

  354. slapping him and doing all kinds of thing, and said

  355. he was looking at the wonder working man that he

  356. had he had worked with, was working on the water.

  357. And then was ah and Jesus nothing nothing, nothing, nothing.

  358. Even Pilot was exasperated. He said, God, you know me,

  359. just open your mouth, make a defense. I'll let you go.

  360. And he told him that look, you never have had

  361. power over me, except that they had been given to

  362. you from heaven. And Pilot was confused. And then he

  363. would go back. And then the people were saying no, no, crucifying.

  364. He said, I see nothing in him. And now after everything,

  365. then the whole explanation unraveled. He had to take our

  366. punishment for us. He died for us. He took the pain,

  367. he took the shame on us, and he says we

  368. should be just like him. He never hit back, He

  369. never spoke back or talked back to people who cut him.

  370. The man. They gave him all kinds of names, but

  371. he never defended himself. And he says, with you be

  372. like him. So it's a tough call. And then he says,

  373. I will help you. Amen. So he said, for this

  374. reason we also since the day we head it, do

  375. not cease to pray for you and to ask that

  376. you may be filled with the knowledge of His will

  377. in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. That is what the

  378. Holy Spray brings. As you you commit yourself to diligent

  379. and faithful reading, steady meditated and application of the Word

  380. of God in your life, and the Holy Spay will

  381. push you, will set He will set up the scenarios

  382. for you. He will set up the scenarios for where

  383. the truth that you have learned it will call for application,

  384. and see what choices you are going to make. He

  385. is responsible for the whole Christian life. That's why we

  386. say it is not our life, by His life. So

  387. all that you and I need to do is to cooperate.

  388. But you that diligent Bible, steady devotional life is going

  389. to help you to be a go to descend the

  390. voice of the Spirit. So now when everybody are being

  391. insulted and deep within he's saying shut up, chat up

  392. chat up, chat up chat up. Shall up. It is

  393. when you start boiling, then you hear that the voice

  394. if then you is going up. Yes, But once soon

  395. after you cooperate, you realize that everything is cool. You

  396. overcome one person insults you, you overcome the second. But

  397. now everybody can insult you, and then you will smile

  398. it Harry here, But the first one now is going

  399. to test how cooperative you are. Amen. For this reason,

  400. we also since the day we heard it, do not

  401. cease to pray for you and to ask that you

  402. may be failed with the knowledge of His will in

  403. all wisdom and spiritual understanding. This then that you may

  404. walk now listen to that that you may work worthy

  405. of the Lord, fully pleasing him, being fruitful in every

  406. good way, and increasing in the knowledge of God. We
