-
Our heavenly Father. We thank you for the precious gift
-
of life and the privilege to hear your voice today.
-
Please pour out your grace upon us and soften our
-
hearts to see if your transforming truth in Jesus' is
-
nineteen name. Amen. Let us kind of take our confession
-
for today from Joshua Chapter one, the verse eight. Joshua
-
Chapter one, the verse eight. This book of the Law
-
shall not depart from my mouth, but I shall meditate
-
in it day and night, that I may observe to
-
do according to all that is written in it. For
-
then I will make my way prosperous, and then I
-
will have good success. Amen. Today we bring you part
-
two of the message, the freedom of letting go sap
-
thinged when the Head comes back. When the head comes back,
-
Written by Pastor and Missus Bruce Smith. Our scripture reading
-
shall be taken from Matthew Chapter eighteen, the verse twenty
-
one to twenty two. Matthew Chapter eighteen, the verse twenty
-
one to twenty two. I will be reading from the
-
New Living Translation. Then Peter came to him and asked, Lord,
-
how often should I forgive someone who sins against me?
-
Seven times? No, not seven times, Jesus replied, but seventy times. Seven.
-
The Lord add his blessings to the reading and hearing
-
of his word. Thanks be to God, Amen. The freedom
-
of letting go? Pat. Two. When the head comes back.
-
Yesterday we spoke about forgiveness and the freedom of letting go.
-
We saw that forgiving someone is simply deciding to stop
-
holding them hostage in our minds. We agreed that to
-
forgive someone does not automatically make us forget what happened. Rather,
-
through the grace of God, the memory slowly loses its
-
sharp sting and the bitter poison is strained away. Today
-
we attempt to answer the following questions, what do you
-
do between the times the offense keeps popping up until
-
it finally loses its sting of bitterness? What do you
-
do when you hear the peasant's name again? Or pass
-
by that familiar place, and the sharp stink returns to
-
your chest. Whey, Still, what do you do if the
-
offender keeps repeating the same action without any remorse or apology.
-
Is there a limit where we can conclude that we
-
have had enough? Peter may have felt the same and
-
concluded that forgiveness had a reasonable limit. He asked Jesus, Lord,
-
how often shall my brother sin against me? And I
-
forgive him? Up to seven times? In Peter's mind, forgiving
-
someone seven times was already generous, But Jesus answered, I
-
do not say to you up to seven times, but
-
up to seventy times seven. Jesus was not asking us
-
to keep a calculator or notebook for record keeping. He
-
was teaching that forgiveness is to become our lifestyle. Releasing
-
others is not a one off events. It is a
-
way of living. The heads may knock on the door
-
of your mind again tomorrow and the next week. When
-
it does, it does not mean you failed to forgive yesterday.
-
It simply means you must choose to release them again today.
-
You tell your heart, Lord, by your strength, I choose
-
peace of a vengeance, beloved. Forgiveness requires wisdom, patience, and
-
the continual work of the Holy Spirit. It is not
-
accomplished by mere will power. Some wounds run too deep
-
for human strength alone. The grace of God enables us
-
to do what our emotions resist. The Holy Spirit softens
-
hardened hearts, heals hidden wounds, and gives us the strength
-
to release those who have hurt us. Sometimes forgiveness must
-
be repeated. Every time the head resurfaces. We make the
-
same decision, Lord, I choose to forgive again. Eventually, what
-
one felt impossible becomes an evidence of God's transforming grace.
-
Precious one, today, ask yourself, is there anyone whose name
-
still causes pain, anger, or bitterness? Bring that person before
-
the Lord. Pray for the grace to release them. The
-
same grace that forgive you is sufficient to help you
-
forgive others. God richly bless you. Amen. Let us kindly
-
take our memory verse for today. Our memory verse shall
-
be taken from Collusions, Chapter three, The Best Thirteen Collusions
-
Chapter three The Best Thirteen I will be reading from
-
the New Living Translation. Make allow once for each other's faults,
-
and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember the Lord forgive you,
-
so you must forgive others, make allowance for each other's faults,
-
and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember the Lord forgive you,
-
so you must forgive others. Amen, Let us kindly share
-
a word of prayer. Our heavely Father, We thank you
-
for your word today. We acknowledge that some wounds ran
-
too deep for our own strength, and the memory of
-
the heads often returns. Please give us the grace to
-
make forgiveness our daily lifestyle. Whenever the sting of bitterness
-
tries to take root in our hearts again and again.
-
Please empower us by your Holy Spirit to repeatedly choose
-
peace of our vengeance. Help us to continually release those
-
who have offended us, just as you have graciously forgiven
-
us in Jesus's mighty name. Amen, belove it. Always remember
-
this forgiveness is not a one off event, but a
-
daily lifestyle. Every time the head resurface us, we must
-
rely on God's grace to choose to release the offender
-
all over again. God wishly bless you for staying all
-
through today's morning glory devotion. Kindly join us again for
-
another episode tomorrow morning by God's grace. At the same time,
-
stay tuned to Radio Ati Today for more spread field content.

Stay blessed, shalom,
