MGD: Asleep in a Storm

Bless the Lord or my soul and all that is

within me. Bless his holy name Shaloon, beloved, and thank

you for tuning into today's morning glory devotion. Privileged to

be leading today's session is Amanda Baidu from Harvest Chapel International,

Dingyamiko Marsi. Please, let's pray thank you, Heavenly Father for today.

Thank you for this ability and opportunity to study your way.

We ask our Lord that you make our hearts fatter

to receive it and grant us the grace to understand

and apply it in our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen beloved.

Please let's take our confession from the Book of Joshua,

chapter one, best eight. This book of the Law shall

not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate

in it day and night, that I may observe to

do according to all that is written in it. For

then I will make my way prosperous, and then I

will have good success, Amen beloved. Our topic for today

is titled Asleep in a Storm. Asleep in a Storm

and a scripture reading is taken from Mark chapter four

Theress thirty five to forty one. On the same day,

when evening had come, he said to them, let us

cross over to the other side. Now. When they had

left the multitude, they took him along in the boat

as he was, and other little boats were also with him,

and a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into

the boat so that it was already feeling. But he

was in the stern, asleep on a pillow, and they

awokeing and said to him, teacher, do you not care

that we are perishing? Then he arose and rebuked the

wind and said to the sea, peace be still. And

the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. But

he said to them, why are you so fearful? How

is it that you have no faith? And they feared

exceedingly and said to one another, who can this be

that even the wind and the sea obey him? Amen?

Asleep in a storm, Beloved, there's no storm that is

above the power of God. The scripture above is comforting

to us as believers, because it depicts the nature of

our Savior in the face of storms. Jesus was asleep

when the great winstorm arose. It was easy, just like

the disciples to think, does he not care that we

are perishing? In the storm. Maybe like them, we often

ask God, can he not see the struggle we are in?

Do you see our tears and the pain we are

going through in this storm? We often have many questions

in the seasons where God is quiet and he seems

to be sound asleep. But Beloved, Jesus had already told

them that they would get to the other side. He

had given them a word, and not only that, He

was with them. The disciples, like us, both have the

weord and the presence of God, and yet the storms

were able to incite fear in them. Much like us,

when the storms of life hit, we often do not

trust the wed or the presence of God with us. Beloved,

imagine how frustrating their unbelief must have been for Jesus.

Imagine setting food on the table for your child. You

show them where the food is and expects them to

go and eat it, but the child keep asking you

for the same food that you have already provided. Brethren,

there are certain seasons where God may seem asleep and quiet,

because we often have what it takes to take charge

of the situation. We have the wed and we have

his presence, We have his promises, his prophecies, his instructions

and his ways. Their agitation was because of the currency

of fear. And sometimes when you are not meditating on

the fact that you carry the presence of God and

you already have his wed, fear will push you into

shaking in the storm. When your Lord has already spoken.

Jesus wasn't uncaring. The Lord never slum best no sleep.

Jesus was full of faith. He was relaxed because storms

cannot shake the word of God. Let us build faith

by meditating on his wed and dwelling in his presence,

so that no storm can shake us into fear. But

rather we will have faith in the Wed, and we

can rebuke the storms of life and live victoriously. Remember

in Psalm twenty seven, the Lord is our light in

our salvation. Whom shall we fear? The Lord is the

strength of our lives, of whom shall we be afraid.

Though an army may and camp against us, our hearts

shall not fear the war may rise against us. In

this we will be confident, For in the time of trouble,

he shall hide us in his pavilion, in the secret

place of his tabernacle. He shall hide us. He shall

set us high upon a rock. And now our heads

shall be lifted up above our enemies. All around us

shalloon our memory. Verse is taken from Isiah chapter forty one, vers. Ten.

So do not fear, for I am with you. Do

not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will

strengthen you and help you. I will apphold you with

my righteous right hand. Amen, you love it. Please let

share a word of prayer. Our Father. We thank you

for this reminder that you are with us, and you

have already given us your word. Therefore we pray and

we ask that you will help us that we do

not allow the fear of the storms of life to

overshadow us and to overiet the faith that we have

in your word. Help us to have faith to rebuke

every storm in our lives, and know that once you

are with us, we would definitely live a victorious life

in Jesus' name. Amen, be love it. Please stay tuned
