  8. us each and every Monday to Friday at 2 p.m.

  9. on Spirit 88.3 FM as we encounter the Word of Truth.

  10. God richly bless you.

  11. And you say.

  12. Welcome to Logos Rima R with God's servant, Rev.

  13. Dr.

  14. Joseph Baalbin, Head Pastor of Harvest Chapel International Kumasi. And now,

  15. to today's message.

  16. Let's take our confession, Joshua 1 verse 8.

    Joshua 1:8

  17. This book of the Lord shall not depart out of

  18. my mouth. but I shall meditate in it day and night,

  19. that I may observe to do according to all that

  20. is written in it. For then I will make my

  21. way prosperous, and then I will have good success.

  22. Amen.

  23. Why don't you take your seats in his presence. Turn

  24. to somebody and say, remember the Lord your God.

  25. Hallelujah.

  26. Hallelujah.

  27. We want to continue with our discourses on bringing order

  28. into our given life.

  29. Hallelujah. Amen. And remember what.

  30. We are looking at coming from our Creator God, Jesus,

  31. the Son of God, that it is impossible to serve

  32. God and mammon.

  33. Hallelujah.

  34. Because he says that you can't serve two masters. You're

  35. going to be very pleased one and that will cause

  36. the displeasure of the other.

  37. And therefore, one way or the other.

  38. It's not a possibility that you can pursue God and

  39. at the same time have enough time to also pursue

  40. money to the detriment of our service and our obligations

  41. to God, especially as children of God. Remember the context.

  42. And that is why we went through the book of Matthew,

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  43. chapter 5, 6, 7, trying to recap what occasion Jesus

  44. Christ to make that rather bold and mind-boggling statement that

  45. you have to choose.

  46. There's a choice before you.

  47. Either pursuing the Lord God of Israel, the creator of

  48. the ends of the earth, the possessor of heaven and earth,

  49. or you just go narrow down through the spirit of

  50. Mammon and chasing, but he was quite definite. I can

  51. assure you it's not going to be possible.

  52. Amen. You have to make a choice.

  53. And so when you put it in context, you realize

  54. that he was speaking to his disciples, men and women

  55. who are giving their lives, their time, talent, and treasures,

  56. and committed them to serving God. Men and women who

  57. have said yes to God, the call of God on

  58. their lives, and that God takes priority in their lives.

  59. The men and women.

  60. Of God who have heard, or children of God who

  61. have heard, that God has said the first law and

  62. the first commandment is to know and understand that you

  63. shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,

  64. all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.

  65. And then thy neighbor as thyself. Hallelujah. Amen.

  66. So he's talking to people, as I said, that He

  67. believes that they understand the input of God's call upon

  68. their life. And therefore, they have their priorities right. And

  69. the same one on the mount like this. On the

  70. mount is like a code of ethics to Christians or

  71. believers in Christ. What should be foremost on our hearts

  72. and our minds as we strive to pursue God?

  73. Hallelujah.

  74. And as we have been learning in the past discourses,

  75. Jesus challenges us concerning the values that we have learned

  76. growing up.

  77. It's all over the place.

  78. The traditions of men, the customs, the constitution by which

  79. we have drafted or crafted up by our philosophers of

  80. the day that we have said is going to govern

  81. our way and manner of life, the way we relate

  82. to each other, and the way we relate to God.

  83. And I always like to remind us, this is God's world.

  84. Amen.

  85. So it cannot be me setting the rules.

  86. Amen.

  87. That is why the disciples will tell and look in

  88. the sign in the face and say, you now judge

  89. whether it is right for us to obey God or

  90. to obey you.

  91. Amen.

  92. When it comes to obedience, God has set the priority.

  93. God first, me first.

  94. Why?

  95. What undergets this understanding of our value system as believers?

  96. The understanding that God is creator. And in the opening

  97. pages of the Bible, he makes it abundantly clear.

  98. Moses says, in the beginning, it was God, God who

  99. created the heavens and the earth.

  100. And in chapter number one of Genesis, he takes this

  101. line by line, day one, day two, day three, day four,

  102. day five, day six, what God did, laying the foundation that, look,

  103. when it comes to the wealth in this world, God

  104. is the.

  105. Bona fide owner.

  106. Psalm 24, the earth is the lost and the fullness thereof.

  107. Including the men that are therein. It's all mine.

  108. So when Jesus is saying this, like we said, he's

  109. not arguing that you don't need money.

  110. Hallelujah.

  111. But he's trying to tell you that, look, sit down.

  112. Like he would say, you know, that, is it Solomon?

  113. Hallelujah. Amen. He said, with all thy getting, get wisdom,

  114. get understanding. And that wisdom is the primary thing.

  115. If somebody who created the thing is there, he can

  116. uncreate it. He says that it is God, listen to that,

  117. that calls those things that be not.

  118. As though they were. It's like at any moment.

  119. In time, God can conjure anything in an instant.

  120. He can't do anything.

  121. And the Bible is replete with the stories of transformed

  122. lives that happened in.

  123. The second, the split second.

  124. I mean, look at the day that Joseph rose up

  125. from jail. Remember, he had been made a chief prisoner.

  126. Can you imagine what was going on in his head?

  127. He said, for two years. He had begged the butler

  128. that I am here on the wrong charge. When you

  129. go out, because I've interpreted this dream for you, can

  130. you put in a word to Pharaoh for me so

  131. I can get out of jail? And the Bible says

  132. for two years, the butler forgot him. And so as

  133. far as Joseph was concerned, it was yet another day

  134. of having been forgotten.

  135. Hallelujah. Maybe he was going through the pain.

  136. Maybe that morning when he woke up, he said, this butler,

  137. if you are hungry, I did this to you and

  138. I interpreted your dream for you. And they said, if

  139. only you are putting a word. Now I have to

  140. go through yet another miserable day. Not knowing that God,

  141. that night before, God had wrestled with Pharaoh.

  142. In a dream.

  143. Had given him sleepless nights and had given him a

  144. vision of what was yet to come. Every time I

  145. asked him, how many of us are here who every day,

  146. every day of your life, when you wake up and

  147. you dream, you go looking for interpretation.

  148. It would be very tedious. Amen. So you go about

  149. your business.

  150. But there are some of the dreams that when you have,

  151. you know that, no, this.

  152. One, there's a message in. It makes you restless. No,

  153. there's something.

  154. That's when you begin to share and you begin to

  155. pray about it as believers.

  156. Can you help me pray? Hallelujah. Amen. And that was it.

  157. It was an ordinary day.

  158. But the dream, the dream, the dream, the dream that

  159. God communicated to Pharaoh about what he was about to do,

  160. it made him restless. And then he called all the magicians,

  161. and they said no. And the butler who was serving

  162. him was perplexed because these were the leading people who

  163. were in contact with the gods. They should have been

  164. able to give the king or Pharaoh an interpretation. When

  165. everyone comes, and then they shake their head, and they

  166. shake their head, and they shake their head. And then, boom,

  167. just from nowhere, he just recollected Joseph. that Hebrew sleeper

  168. who told me that he had been incarcerated on wrong charges.

  169. I had nothing to do with Potiphar's wife. And he

  170. gave me an interpretation. So he went to Pharaoh and said,

  171. you know something? He says, I now recollect once upon

  172. a time about two years ago, you were mad with

  173. me and you threw me in jail. I had a

  174. dream together with the baker.

  175. That same day, we both had dreams.

  176. There was a young Hebrew slave boy there, incarcerated by Potiphar,

  177. and he gave me an interpretation. All this was going on,

  178. and when Joseph was in the prison, yet another miserable day,

  179. serving the people. He didn't know what God was about

  180. to do in his life. And then he said, can

  181. we call him? And then he is there, and he says,

  182. Pharaoh is looking for you. Can you go and shave?

  183. You look disheveled. Can you go and shave? Can you

  184. get some cologne?

  185. Hallelujah.

  186. And then they change his garments. Can you imagine a

  187. prisoner's clothes? They say, no, you are going before Pharaoh.

  188. That same day, that same day, that ordinary morning. And

  189. then they shaved him, gave him new clothes, and now

  190. smelling very, very good, and he stands before.

  191. And then this is my dream.

  192. I hear you can give an interpretation.

  193. He says, it's not new. God, God, God.

  194. If it was some of the prophets of our day, oh,

  195. can I get a glass of water first?

  196. Hallelujah.

  197. He said, God will give Pharaoh an interpretation. And then

  198. he interprets it. And then he recommends a pathway for

  199. the hunger project that is about to come. And then

  200. Pharaoh says, can we get somebody wise, as wise as this?

  201. In an instant, one day, oh, And then Pharaoh says,

  202. let them bring their ring. Can you imagine it? It's

  203. not like go and sleep. That same, whilst he was

  204. still standing there, Pharaoh removed his ring and said, bring

  205. your hand. I am Pharaoh, and I'm telling you, you'll

  206. be next in command to me.

  207. Wow. Hallelujah.

  208. One day, God, that's why he says that it is

  209. he that calleth those things that be not as though

  210. they were. So when you understand this, when these things,

  211. they don't just come like that.

  212. They are spirits.

  213. That's why we encourage you to read the word. Faith

  214. comes by hearing, hearing the word of God.

  215. It's not ordinary.

  216. When you read it, something will be injected in your spirit.

  217. Like I'm saying, you are reading and you are saying, wow, wow. Me, me, me,

  218. I'm Joseph. So I say, wow, that's me.

  219. God, you do. I'm the next person in line for

  220. a miracle.

  221. And a transformation because I believe. So your body language

  222. as a believer, you are faithful. You don't know where

  223. it comes from, but you just know, hallelujah, that you

  224. are marked for success. Say a big amen. You are

  225. a believer. All the prayers, all the IPIPs will go nil.

  226. No way. No way. Turn to somebody and say, no way. Hallelujah. Amen. Amen. Amen.

  227. So even before you finish school, and sometimes you, that's

  228. why we say you must all have a spiritual agenda.

  229. That's how we follow God. It's a walk with God.

  230. Amen. You want to go somewhere, God is a writer. Hallelujah.

  231. So we say write the vision down.

  232. Write it down. God's instructed, write it down. It's like

  233. an oath to you. I'm swearing to you.

  234. I promise.

  235. We'll look at that concerning Abraham. God, he calls those

  236. things that be not that as they were. And then

  237. we'll look at Israel's, if you like, transitional.

  238. Pathway to wealth. It doesn't just begin like we read.

  239. This was the people that he took them through pathways

  240. before the wealth comes.

  241. So you have read it.

  242. So you are not impatient that God has forgotten.

  243. No, there's no way God has forgotten you.

  244. If you are serving him, you are honoring him, that's

  245. why we always say, bring time, talents, and treasures.

  246. That's how we did it. That's what we did.

  247. And that's what we continue to do, to enjoy the

  248. blessings of God, the protection and the provision.

  249. Nothing just happens. Amen.

  250. So as I said, as we read through the scriptures,

  251. I just want us to try to connect with the

  252. way God does his things.

  253. Hallelujah.

  254. And so I'm saying that on the pathway towards divine wealth,

  255. on the pathway towards divine wealth, when you look at

  256. your wealth, you can draw a line between your wealth

  257. to the doorsteps and the feet of God.

  258. This one, made by God. Made by God. Hallelujah. There's

  259. blessings made by God.

  260. I can bet you, like he says, he says that

  261. the blessings of the Lord, it makes rich.

  262. It adds no sorrow. You will enjoy it. Say amen.

  263. You will enjoy it before you die. Hallelujah. Even when

  264. your time is up, you know I'm going.

  265. Say a big amen. Have you read through the Bible?

  266. All the heroes, they knew when their time came. God

  267. told them it's time up.

  268. Hallelujah.

  269. So you will enjoy it. Sudden catastrophe will not happen

  270. to you. Say a big amen.

  271. And tragedy. No way. Every morning you are on the

  272. prayer ground.

  273. God.

  274. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow

  275. of death.

  276. Amen. Why? Thou art with me. And thy rod and

  277. thy staff. They comfort me. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen.

  278. This working with God, how can you imagine that God,

  279. is it a dull life?

  280. There's no way.

  281. Else, Enoch would not have worked with him for 350

  282. good years of boredom.

  283. Hallelujah. Me, my own, I've enjoyed it all. Oh, I've

  284. enjoyed it. Hallelujah. And it's also not like it's smooth. Oh,

  285. we have worked too. Hallelujah. You think when we are

  286. doing IPIP, we don't weep? Hallelujah.

  287. And we are praying then before you realize their tongues

  288. are stinging.

  289. Manu Koko. Manu Koko. Manu Koko. Hallelujah. You say that, buddy. Buddy,

  290. we are going through with this three days. Somebody say

  291. a big amen. Maybe we should declare IPIP too soon. Hallelujah.

  292. Amen.

  293. Okay, so help me.

  294. Let's look at the scriptures. Let's look at it. But

  295. at least today, this week, we'll do some half days,

  296. isn't it? So we can add a cutting edge to

  297. our Christ and intercessions.

  298. Tell God, go down, hear the prayer. Today the week comes.

  299. Say where two or three bind, it shall be bound. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  300. The other day I was sharing with the students and

  301. I was telling you, maybe at the time that you

  302. finish school, there should be a certain buoyancy in your

  303. heart and spirit that God will bless you because of

  304. all the investments of your time, talent, and treasures that

  305. you are inputting into the kingdom of God for its advancement.

  306. The Bible says it. God is not a liar. God

  307. will not do you totally. Say a big amen.

  308. Amen. Hallelujah. We won't be standing here. We prayed.

  309. We read the word, and we believed it, and we trusted.

  310. And he honored the word.

  311. Hallelujah. Amen.

  312. And like I say, it's not the wealth that you

  313. look at. If I show you my bank account now,

  314. you say, oh, pastor, you're not a faith man, oh.

  315. Where's your faith? But I'll tell you that even in

  316. the empty account, there is faith.

  317. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen, for just anything. Why?

  318. Because those things that be not as though they were.

  319. Let's pick it up from Deuteronomy chapter 7, even though

    Deuteronomy 7 chapter mention

  320. 8 is where we are going. Once again, the backdrop

  321. helps you a lot, isn't it, to understand. So let's quickly,

  322. if I may teach in the impromptu, I said we

  323. want to read through.

  324. There are 26 verses there.

  325. If I'm able to do that, I look at the

  326. time and maybe about seven minutes, we should read through all.

  327. And then we'll pick up the lessons later. It says,

  328. when the.

  329. Lord your God, follow me, brings you into the land, listen,

  330. which you go to possess. This was the second reading

  331. of the law before Moses was buried by God. Amen.

  332. And now he's recapping all that God had said, all

  333. that God had done. And at the centrality is the word.

  334. That's what Jesus was literally doing in the Sermon on

  335. the Mount.

  336. As I said, the values. It has to change. It's words.

  337. The power of words. There's life. There's death in it.

  338. And God is speaking life-giving words to them. Listen.

  339. He said, when the Lord your God brings you into

  340. the land which you go to possess and has cast

  341. out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Gagashites,

  342. And the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and

  343. the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier

  344. than you. Verse 2. And when the Lord your God

  345. delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and

  346. utterly destroy them.

  347. Verse 2. Verse 3.

  348. Nor take their daughter for your son. For they will

  349. turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods.

  350. So the anger of the Lord will be aroused against

  351. you and destroy you suddenly. But thus you shall deal

  352. with them. You shall destroy their altars and break down

  353. their sacred pillars and cut down their wooden images and

  354. burn their carved images with fire.

  355. Six, for you are not. They are taking note.

  356. You are a holy people to the Lord your God.

  357. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a

  358. people for himself, a special treasure above all the peoples

  359. of the face of the earth. So you're not going

  360. to imbibe the value systems of the world, where the

  361. spirit of Mammon is what is leading and driving people

  362. to the detriment of the chase for God. And then

  363. he says, what profit shall it be to a man

  364. if you shall gain the whole wealth and lose your soul?

  365. And like he told that rich man who decided to

  366. destroy his bonds so that he could build bigger ones.

  367. And then he says, I'm going to take my time

  368. and enjoy. And he said, Jesus was looking at him.

  369. God said, you fool. Today, your life and your soul

  370. will be required. You will be required to come and

  371. join me and keep an account.

  372. And whose possessions would they be?

  373. And you look around and all the rich men, all

  374. the rich men, they are dying.

  375. And you are saying that minus me. No.

  376. It's the value system. God is not saying that. Look

  377. at what God did. God is not anti-wealth.

  378. No.

  379. Else he couldn't be boasting that the silver and the

  380. gold is mine. And all the cattle on a thousand hills.

  381. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen.

  382. So he says, for you are a holy people to

  383. the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen

  384. you to be a people for himself, a special treasure above.

  385. All the peoples on the face of the earth.

  386. Seven, the Lord did not set his love on you

  387. nor choose you because.

  388. You were more in number than any other people.

  389. For you were the least of all peoples, but because

  390. the Lord loves you and because he would keep the

  391. oath which he swore to your fathers. The Lord has

  392. brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you

  393. from the house of bondage from the hand of Pharaoh,

  394. king of Egypt.

  395. Therefore, know that the Lord your God, he is God.

  396. The faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a

  397. thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments.

  398. You love God, you bring time, talent, and treasures on board,

  399. and you serve him. Not some of the days of

  400. your life, but all the days of your life. You

  401. will know that he has redeemed you from a certain bondage.

  402. Hallelujah.

  403. And he repairs those who hate him to their face.

  404. You think God is just God, laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh.

  405. Listen to him. God is thoughtful. Look, listen to God.

  406. Moses says, and he repairs those who hate him to

  407. their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack

  408. with him who hates him. He will repair him to

  409. his face. Therefore, because of what I have said, you

  410. shall keep the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments which

  411. I command you today to observe them. Then it shall

  412. come to pass, because you listen to these judgments and

  413. keep and do them, that the Lord your God will

  414. keep with you the covenant and the.

  415. Mercy which is swore to your fathers. 13.

  416. And he will love you and bless you and multiply you.

  417. He will also bless the fruit of your womb. Are

  418. you reading it?

  419. And the fruit of your land, your grain and your

  420. new wine and your oil. What is God doing? Increasing

  421. their wealth, giving them wealth, bestowing it. He said it's undeserved.

  422. I will do it for you. You don't have to

  423. deserve it. He said you are special to me not

  424. because you were numerous.

  425. I just love you, period. Look at where you are

  426. coming from.

  427. There were two or three on the streets, but God

  428. handpicked you and saved you.

  429. Hallelujah.

  430. He says, and your grain and your new wine and

  431. your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring

  432. of your flock in the land of which.

  433. He swore to your fathers to give you. So you

  434. understand it. God is not anti-wealth. Let's go on.

  435. He said, you shall be blessed above all peoples. There

  436. shall not be a male or female barren among you

  437. or among your livestock. And the Lord will take away,

  438. because you.

  439. Need this health.

  440. You need health, vitality. You need vigor to enjoy the blessings.

  441. Look at God. As if he knew. Hallelujah.

  442. And he's telling us, even when you have created the world,

  443. you need peace of mind to be able to enjoy it.

  444. You need health. And like Mammy was preaching.

  445. This morning, before the doctors tell you you can't eat this,

  446. you can't eat that, you can't eat that.

  447. Hallelujah. Amen.

  448. And the Lord will take from you all sickness and

  449. will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of

  450. Egypt which you have known. But will lay them on

  451. all those who hate you.

  452. 16. And you shall destroy all the peoples.

  453. Whom the Lord your God delivers over to you. Your

  454. eyes shall have no pity on them, nor shall you

  455. serve your gods, for that will be a snare to you.

  456. 17.

  457. And if you say in your heart, these nations are

  458. greater than I, how can I dispossess them? You shall

  459. not be afraid of them, but you shall remember well

  460. that what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and

  461. to all Egypt, the great trials which your eyes saw,

  462. The signs and the wonders, the mighty hand and the

  463. outstretched arm by which the Lord your God brought you out,

  464. so shall the Lord your God do to all.

  465. The peoples of whom you are afraid. Hallelujah.

  466. Moreover, the Lord your God will send the hornet among

  467. them until those who are left, who hide themselves from you,

  468. are destroyed. 21. You shall not be terrified of them,

  469. for the Lord your God, the great and awesome God,

  470. is among you.

  471. Hallelujah.

  472. And the Lord your God will drive out all those

  473. nations before you little by little, little by little, little

  474. by little.

  475. Hallelujah. And you will be unable to destroy them at once. Amen.

  476. So we are on track. Turn to somebody and say

  477. you are on track. Little by little, we will get there.

  478. Hallelujah.

  479. If we continue to serve and to repose faith and

  480. trust in God and obey the commandments and bring time, talent,

  481. and treasure and serve, serve God with a childlike heart

  482. and attitude and see what God will do in your life.

  483. Hallelujah.

  484. He says you will be unable to destroy them at once,

  485. lest the bits of the field become too numerous for you.

  486. God of process. Now 23, we're going to 26. But

  487. the Lord your God will deliver them over to you

  488. and will inflict defeat upon them until they are destroyed.

  489. 24.

  490. And he will deliver their kings into your hand and

  491. he will destroy their name from under heaven. No one

  492. shall be able to stand against you until you have

  493. destroyed them. 25, you shall bend the carved images of your.

  494. Gods with fire.

  495. You shall not convert the silver or gold that is

  496. on them, nor take it for yourself, lest you be

  497. snared by it, for it is an abomination to the

  498. Lord your God. 26, nor shall you bring an abomination

  499. into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it.

  500. You shall utterly detest it and utterly abhor it, But

  501. it is an accursed thing.

  502. So that is the background.
