-
Welcome to Logos Rima R with God's servant, Rev.
-
Dr.
-
Joseph Baalbin, Head Pastor of Harvest Chapel International Kumasi. And now,
-
to today's message.
-
Let's take our confession, Joshua 1 verse 8.
-
This book of the Lord shall not depart out of
-
my mouth. but I shall meditate in it day and night,
-
that I may observe to do according to all that
-
is written in it. For then I will make my
-
way prosperous, and then I will have good success.
-
Amen.
-
Why don't you take your seats in his presence. Turn
-
to somebody and say, remember the Lord your God.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah.
-
We want to continue with our discourses on bringing order
-
into our given life.
-
Hallelujah. Amen. And remember what.
-
We are looking at coming from our Creator God, Jesus,
-
the Son of God, that it is impossible to serve
-
God and mammon.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Because he says that you can't serve two masters. You're
-
going to be very pleased one and that will cause
-
the displeasure of the other.
-
And therefore, one way or the other.
-
It's not a possibility that you can pursue God and
-
at the same time have enough time to also pursue
-
money to the detriment of our service and our obligations
-
to God, especially as children of God. Remember the context.
-
And that is why we went through the book of Matthew,
Matthew 5 chapter mention
-
chapter 5, 6, 7, trying to recap what occasion Jesus
-
Christ to make that rather bold and mind-boggling statement that
-
you have to choose.
-
There's a choice before you.
-
Either pursuing the Lord God of Israel, the creator of
-
the ends of the earth, the possessor of heaven and earth,
-
or you just go narrow down through the spirit of
-
Mammon and chasing, but he was quite definite. I can
-
assure you it's not going to be possible.
-
Amen. You have to make a choice.
-
And so when you put it in context, you realize
-
that he was speaking to his disciples, men and women
-
who are giving their lives, their time, talent, and treasures,
-
and committed them to serving God. Men and women who
-
have said yes to God, the call of God on
-
their lives, and that God takes priority in their lives.
-
The men and women.
-
Of God who have heard, or children of God who
-
have heard, that God has said the first law and
-
the first commandment is to know and understand that you
-
shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
-
all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.
-
And then thy neighbor as thyself. Hallelujah. Amen.
-
So he's talking to people, as I said, that He
-
believes that they understand the input of God's call upon
-
their life. And therefore, they have their priorities right. And
-
the same one on the mount like this. On the
-
mount is like a code of ethics to Christians or
-
believers in Christ. What should be foremost on our hearts
-
and our minds as we strive to pursue God?
-
Hallelujah.
-
And as we have been learning in the past discourses,
-
Jesus challenges us concerning the values that we have learned
-
growing up.
-
It's all over the place.
-
The traditions of men, the customs, the constitution by which
-
we have drafted or crafted up by our philosophers of
-
the day that we have said is going to govern
-
our way and manner of life, the way we relate
-
to each other, and the way we relate to God.
-
And I always like to remind us, this is God's world.
-
Amen.
-
So it cannot be me setting the rules.
-
Amen.
-
That is why the disciples will tell and look in
-
the sign in the face and say, you now judge
-
whether it is right for us to obey God or
-
to obey you.
-
Amen.
-
When it comes to obedience, God has set the priority.
-
God first, me first.
-
Why?
-
What undergets this understanding of our value system as believers?
-
The understanding that God is creator. And in the opening
-
pages of the Bible, he makes it abundantly clear.
-
Moses says, in the beginning, it was God, God who
-
created the heavens and the earth.
-
And in chapter number one of Genesis, he takes this
-
line by line, day one, day two, day three, day four,
-
day five, day six, what God did, laying the foundation that, look,
-
when it comes to the wealth in this world, God
-
is the.
-
Bona fide owner.
-
Psalm 24, the earth is the lost and the fullness thereof.
-
Including the men that are therein. It's all mine.
-
So when Jesus is saying this, like we said, he's
-
not arguing that you don't need money.
-
Hallelujah.
-
But he's trying to tell you that, look, sit down.
-
Like he would say, you know, that, is it Solomon?
-
Hallelujah. Amen. He said, with all thy getting, get wisdom,
-
get understanding. And that wisdom is the primary thing.
-
If somebody who created the thing is there, he can
-
uncreate it. He says that it is God, listen to that,
-
that calls those things that be not.
-
As though they were. It's like at any moment.
-
In time, God can conjure anything in an instant.
-
He can't do anything.
-
And the Bible is replete with the stories of transformed
-
lives that happened in.
-
The second, the split second.
-
I mean, look at the day that Joseph rose up
-
from jail. Remember, he had been made a chief prisoner.
-
Can you imagine what was going on in his head?
-
He said, for two years. He had begged the butler
-
that I am here on the wrong charge. When you
-
go out, because I've interpreted this dream for you, can
-
you put in a word to Pharaoh for me so
-
I can get out of jail? And the Bible says
-
for two years, the butler forgot him. And so as
-
far as Joseph was concerned, it was yet another day
-
of having been forgotten.
-
Hallelujah. Maybe he was going through the pain.
-
Maybe that morning when he woke up, he said, this butler,
-
if you are hungry, I did this to you and
-
I interpreted your dream for you. And they said, if
-
only you are putting a word. Now I have to
-
go through yet another miserable day. Not knowing that God,
-
that night before, God had wrestled with Pharaoh.
-
In a dream.
-
Had given him sleepless nights and had given him a
-
vision of what was yet to come. Every time I
-
asked him, how many of us are here who every day,
-
every day of your life, when you wake up and
-
you dream, you go looking for interpretation.
-
It would be very tedious. Amen. So you go about
-
your business.
-
But there are some of the dreams that when you have,
-
you know that, no, this.
-
One, there's a message in. It makes you restless. No,
-
there's something.
-
That's when you begin to share and you begin to
-
pray about it as believers.
-
Can you help me pray? Hallelujah. Amen. And that was it.
-
It was an ordinary day.
-
But the dream, the dream, the dream, the dream that
-
God communicated to Pharaoh about what he was about to do,
-
it made him restless. And then he called all the magicians,
-
and they said no. And the butler who was serving
-
him was perplexed because these were the leading people who
-
were in contact with the gods. They should have been
-
able to give the king or Pharaoh an interpretation. When
-
everyone comes, and then they shake their head, and they
-
shake their head, and they shake their head. And then, boom,
-
just from nowhere, he just recollected Joseph. that Hebrew sleeper
-
who told me that he had been incarcerated on wrong charges.
-
I had nothing to do with Potiphar's wife. And he
-
gave me an interpretation. So he went to Pharaoh and said,
-
you know something? He says, I now recollect once upon
-
a time about two years ago, you were mad with
-
me and you threw me in jail. I had a
-
dream together with the baker.
-
That same day, we both had dreams.
-
There was a young Hebrew slave boy there, incarcerated by Potiphar,
-
and he gave me an interpretation. All this was going on,
-
and when Joseph was in the prison, yet another miserable day,
-
serving the people. He didn't know what God was about
-
to do in his life. And then he said, can
-
we call him? And then he is there, and he says,
-
Pharaoh is looking for you. Can you go and shave?
-
You look disheveled. Can you go and shave? Can you
-
get some cologne?
-
Hallelujah.
-
And then they change his garments. Can you imagine a
-
prisoner's clothes? They say, no, you are going before Pharaoh.
-
That same day, that same day, that ordinary morning. And
-
then they shaved him, gave him new clothes, and now
-
smelling very, very good, and he stands before.
-
And then this is my dream.
-
I hear you can give an interpretation.
-
He says, it's not new. God, God, God.
-
If it was some of the prophets of our day, oh,
-
can I get a glass of water first?
-
Hallelujah.
-
He said, God will give Pharaoh an interpretation. And then
-
he interprets it. And then he recommends a pathway for
-
the hunger project that is about to come. And then
-
Pharaoh says, can we get somebody wise, as wise as this?
-
In an instant, one day, oh, And then Pharaoh says,
-
let them bring their ring. Can you imagine it? It's
-
not like go and sleep. That same, whilst he was
-
still standing there, Pharaoh removed his ring and said, bring
-
your hand. I am Pharaoh, and I'm telling you, you'll
-
be next in command to me.
-
Wow. Hallelujah.
-
One day, God, that's why he says that it is
-
he that calleth those things that be not as though
-
they were. So when you understand this, when these things,
-
they don't just come like that.
-
They are spirits.
-
That's why we encourage you to read the word. Faith
-
comes by hearing, hearing the word of God.
-
It's not ordinary.
-
When you read it, something will be injected in your spirit.
-
Like I'm saying, you are reading and you are saying, wow, wow. Me, me, me,
-
I'm Joseph. So I say, wow, that's me.
-
God, you do. I'm the next person in line for
-
a miracle.
-
And a transformation because I believe. So your body language
-
as a believer, you are faithful. You don't know where
-
it comes from, but you just know, hallelujah, that you
-
are marked for success. Say a big amen. You are
-
a believer. All the prayers, all the IPIPs will go nil.
-
No way. No way. Turn to somebody and say, no way. Hallelujah. Amen. Amen. Amen.
-
So even before you finish school, and sometimes you, that's
-
why we say you must all have a spiritual agenda.
-
That's how we follow God. It's a walk with God.
-
Amen. You want to go somewhere, God is a writer. Hallelujah.
-
So we say write the vision down.
-
Write it down. God's instructed, write it down. It's like
-
an oath to you. I'm swearing to you.
-
I promise.
-
We'll look at that concerning Abraham. God, he calls those
-
things that be not that as they were. And then
-
we'll look at Israel's, if you like, transitional.
-
Pathway to wealth. It doesn't just begin like we read.
-
This was the people that he took them through pathways
-
before the wealth comes.
-
So you have read it.
-
So you are not impatient that God has forgotten.
-
No, there's no way God has forgotten you.
-
If you are serving him, you are honoring him, that's
-
why we always say, bring time, talents, and treasures.
-
That's how we did it. That's what we did.
-
And that's what we continue to do, to enjoy the
-
blessings of God, the protection and the provision.
-
Nothing just happens. Amen.
-
So as I said, as we read through the scriptures,
-
I just want us to try to connect with the
-
way God does his things.
-
Hallelujah.
-
And so I'm saying that on the pathway towards divine wealth,
-
on the pathway towards divine wealth, when you look at
-
your wealth, you can draw a line between your wealth
-
to the doorsteps and the feet of God.
-
This one, made by God. Made by God. Hallelujah. There's
-
blessings made by God.
-
I can bet you, like he says, he says that
-
the blessings of the Lord, it makes rich.
-
It adds no sorrow. You will enjoy it. Say amen.
-
You will enjoy it before you die. Hallelujah. Even when
-
your time is up, you know I'm going.
-
Say a big amen. Have you read through the Bible?
-
All the heroes, they knew when their time came. God
-
told them it's time up.
-
Hallelujah.
-
So you will enjoy it. Sudden catastrophe will not happen
-
to you. Say a big amen.
-
And tragedy. No way. Every morning you are on the
-
prayer ground.
-
God.
-
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow
-
of death.
-
Amen. Why? Thou art with me. And thy rod and
-
thy staff. They comfort me. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen.
-
This working with God, how can you imagine that God,
-
is it a dull life?
-
There's no way.
-
Else, Enoch would not have worked with him for 350
-
good years of boredom.
-
Hallelujah. Me, my own, I've enjoyed it all. Oh, I've
-
enjoyed it. Hallelujah. And it's also not like it's smooth. Oh,
-
we have worked too. Hallelujah. You think when we are
-
doing IPIP, we don't weep? Hallelujah.
-
And we are praying then before you realize their tongues
-
are stinging.
-
Manu Koko. Manu Koko. Manu Koko. Hallelujah. You say that, buddy. Buddy,
-
we are going through with this three days. Somebody say
-
a big amen. Maybe we should declare IPIP too soon. Hallelujah.
-
Amen.
-
Okay, so help me.
-
Let's look at the scriptures. Let's look at it. But
-
at least today, this week, we'll do some half days,
-
isn't it? So we can add a cutting edge to
-
our Christ and intercessions.
-
Tell God, go down, hear the prayer. Today the week comes.
-
Say where two or three bind, it shall be bound. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
-
The other day I was sharing with the students and
-
I was telling you, maybe at the time that you
-
finish school, there should be a certain buoyancy in your
-
heart and spirit that God will bless you because of
-
all the investments of your time, talent, and treasures that
-
you are inputting into the kingdom of God for its advancement.
-
The Bible says it. God is not a liar. God
-
will not do you totally. Say a big amen.
-
Amen. Hallelujah. We won't be standing here. We prayed.
-
We read the word, and we believed it, and we trusted.
-
And he honored the word.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
And like I say, it's not the wealth that you
-
look at. If I show you my bank account now,
-
you say, oh, pastor, you're not a faith man, oh.
-
Where's your faith? But I'll tell you that even in
-
the empty account, there is faith.
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen, for just anything. Why?
-
Because those things that be not as though they were.
-
Let's pick it up from Deuteronomy chapter 7, even though
Deuteronomy 7 chapter mention
-
8 is where we are going. Once again, the backdrop
-
helps you a lot, isn't it, to understand. So let's quickly,
-
if I may teach in the impromptu, I said we
-
want to read through.
-
There are 26 verses there.
-
If I'm able to do that, I look at the
-
time and maybe about seven minutes, we should read through all.
-
And then we'll pick up the lessons later. It says,
-
when the.
-
Lord your God, follow me, brings you into the land, listen,
-
which you go to possess. This was the second reading
-
of the law before Moses was buried by God. Amen.
-
And now he's recapping all that God had said, all
-
that God had done. And at the centrality is the word.
-
That's what Jesus was literally doing in the Sermon on
-
the Mount.
-
As I said, the values. It has to change. It's words.
-
The power of words. There's life. There's death in it.
-
And God is speaking life-giving words to them. Listen.
-
He said, when the Lord your God brings you into
-
the land which you go to possess and has cast
-
out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Gagashites,
-
And the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and
-
the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier
-
than you. Verse 2. And when the Lord your God
-
delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and
-
utterly destroy them.
-
Verse 2. Verse 3.
-
Nor take their daughter for your son. For they will
-
turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods.
-
So the anger of the Lord will be aroused against
-
you and destroy you suddenly. But thus you shall deal
-
with them. You shall destroy their altars and break down
-
their sacred pillars and cut down their wooden images and
-
burn their carved images with fire.
-
Six, for you are not. They are taking note.
-
You are a holy people to the Lord your God.
-
The Lord your God has chosen you to be a
-
people for himself, a special treasure above all the peoples
-
of the face of the earth. So you're not going
-
to imbibe the value systems of the world, where the
-
spirit of Mammon is what is leading and driving people
-
to the detriment of the chase for God. And then
-
he says, what profit shall it be to a man
-
if you shall gain the whole wealth and lose your soul?
-
And like he told that rich man who decided to
-
destroy his bonds so that he could build bigger ones.
-
And then he says, I'm going to take my time
-
and enjoy. And he said, Jesus was looking at him.
-
God said, you fool. Today, your life and your soul
-
will be required. You will be required to come and
-
join me and keep an account.
-
And whose possessions would they be?
-
And you look around and all the rich men, all
-
the rich men, they are dying.
-
And you are saying that minus me. No.
-
It's the value system. God is not saying that. Look
-
at what God did. God is not anti-wealth.
-
No.
-
Else he couldn't be boasting that the silver and the
-
gold is mine. And all the cattle on a thousand hills.
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen.
-
So he says, for you are a holy people to
-
the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen
-
you to be a people for himself, a special treasure above.
-
All the peoples on the face of the earth.
-
Seven, the Lord did not set his love on you
-
nor choose you because.
-
You were more in number than any other people.
-
For you were the least of all peoples, but because
-
the Lord loves you and because he would keep the
-
oath which he swore to your fathers. The Lord has
-
brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you
-
from the house of bondage from the hand of Pharaoh,
-
king of Egypt.
-
Therefore, know that the Lord your God, he is God.
-
The faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a
-
thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments.
-
You love God, you bring time, talent, and treasures on board,
-
and you serve him. Not some of the days of
-
your life, but all the days of your life. You
-
will know that he has redeemed you from a certain bondage.
-
Hallelujah.
-
And he repairs those who hate him to their face.
-
You think God is just God, laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh.
-
Listen to him. God is thoughtful. Look, listen to God.
-
Moses says, and he repairs those who hate him to
-
their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack
-
with him who hates him. He will repair him to
-
his face. Therefore, because of what I have said, you
-
shall keep the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments which
-
I command you today to observe them. Then it shall
-
come to pass, because you listen to these judgments and
-
keep and do them, that the Lord your God will
-
keep with you the covenant and the.
-
Mercy which is swore to your fathers. 13.
-
And he will love you and bless you and multiply you.
-
He will also bless the fruit of your womb. Are
-
you reading it?
-
And the fruit of your land, your grain and your
-
new wine and your oil. What is God doing? Increasing
-
their wealth, giving them wealth, bestowing it. He said it's undeserved.
-
I will do it for you. You don't have to
-
deserve it. He said you are special to me not
-
because you were numerous.
-
I just love you, period. Look at where you are
-
coming from.
-
There were two or three on the streets, but God
-
handpicked you and saved you.
-
Hallelujah.
-
He says, and your grain and your new wine and
-
your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring
-
of your flock in the land of which.
-
He swore to your fathers to give you. So you
-
understand it. God is not anti-wealth. Let's go on.
-
He said, you shall be blessed above all peoples. There
-
shall not be a male or female barren among you
-
or among your livestock. And the Lord will take away,
-
because you.
-
Need this health.
-
You need health, vitality. You need vigor to enjoy the blessings.
-
Look at God. As if he knew. Hallelujah.
-
And he's telling us, even when you have created the world,
-
you need peace of mind to be able to enjoy it.
-
You need health. And like Mammy was preaching.
-
This morning, before the doctors tell you you can't eat this,
-
you can't eat that, you can't eat that.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
And the Lord will take from you all sickness and
-
will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of
-
Egypt which you have known. But will lay them on
-
all those who hate you.
-
16. And you shall destroy all the peoples.
-
Whom the Lord your God delivers over to you. Your
-
eyes shall have no pity on them, nor shall you
-
serve your gods, for that will be a snare to you.
-
17.
-
And if you say in your heart, these nations are
-
greater than I, how can I dispossess them? You shall
-
not be afraid of them, but you shall remember well
-
that what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and
-
to all Egypt, the great trials which your eyes saw,
-
The signs and the wonders, the mighty hand and the
-
outstretched arm by which the Lord your God brought you out,
-
so shall the Lord your God do to all.
-
The peoples of whom you are afraid. Hallelujah.
-
Moreover, the Lord your God will send the hornet among
-
them until those who are left, who hide themselves from you,
-
are destroyed. 21. You shall not be terrified of them,
-
for the Lord your God, the great and awesome God,
-
is among you.
-
Hallelujah.
-
And the Lord your God will drive out all those
-
nations before you little by little, little by little, little
-
by little.
-
Hallelujah. And you will be unable to destroy them at once. Amen.
-
So we are on track. Turn to somebody and say
-
you are on track. Little by little, we will get there.
-
Hallelujah.
-
If we continue to serve and to repose faith and
-
trust in God and obey the commandments and bring time, talent,
-
and treasure and serve, serve God with a childlike heart
-
and attitude and see what God will do in your life.
-
Hallelujah.
-
He says you will be unable to destroy them at once,
-
lest the bits of the field become too numerous for you.
-
God of process. Now 23, we're going to 26. But
-
the Lord your God will deliver them over to you
-
and will inflict defeat upon them until they are destroyed.
-
24.
-
And he will deliver their kings into your hand and
-
he will destroy their name from under heaven. No one
-
shall be able to stand against you until you have
-
destroyed them. 25, you shall bend the carved images of your.
-
Gods with fire.
-
You shall not convert the silver or gold that is
-
on them, nor take it for yourself, lest you be
-
snared by it, for it is an abomination to the
-
Lord your God. 26, nor shall you bring an abomination
-
into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it.
-
You shall utterly detest it and utterly abhor it, But
-
it is an accursed thing.
-
So that is the background.
