-

-
Dr.
-
Joseph Baalbein, Head Pastor of Harvest Chapel International Kumasi. And now,
-
to today's message.
-
Let's take our confession from Joshua 1 verse 8. This
-
book of the Lord shall not depart out of my mouth.
-
that I shall meditate in it day.
-
And night, that I may observe.
-
To do according to all that is written in it.
-
For then I will make my way prosperous, and then
-
I will have good success. Amen. Why don't you take
-
your seats in his presence. So we are journeying on
-
how best we can bring order into our life of giving.
-
Hallelujah.
-
God wants his children As we are saying, to learn
-
the values, the principles in the word.
-
Hallelujah. We are already rich. Hallelujah. Amen. That's the Bible.
-
So we are already rich with God. He said he
-
has now seated us with Christ Jesus in the heavenly places.
-
Far above all rule.
-
And authority and principalities. He said, I show that in
-
the world to come, he will show us all the
-
good things that he has taught for us.
-
Hallelujah. Amen. Very, very important.
-
I always like to quote Abraham calling God the possessor
-
of heaven and earth. The possessor.
-
He owns it.
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And it isn't an acquisition as if, you know,
-
a wealth acquisition. God, somebody did it and God went. No,
-
he created it. He invented it himself. He's the original
-
owner and sole owner.
-
Hallelujah.
-
So if we pursue him, we will have access to
-
the wealth.
-
Hallelujah. Amen. Amen.
-
Sometimes some of the things that some of us do,
-
and once again, so that we can fall in love
-
with the word of God. so we can fall in
-
love with the word of God. As we are saying,
-
it's very, very important that don't pick and choose. You
-
want to see, you see that he's basing the wealth
-
acquisition or the stewardship of the wealth of this world.
-
Why should I place it in your hands maybe? Hallelujah.
-
You have to show.
-
Trust in the word that you're going to trust God
-
to guide you.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
So if you can't, Read the Word and grasp what
-
is foundational.
-
Amen.
-
What is important. What is very, very important. The skill,
-
the order that we are talking about.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Amen.
-
So when you pick and choose, then that is this orderliness. Amen.
-
But let me use this solution. You look in all creation,
-
there's order in all creation. I don't know who invented
-
the numeral systems and alphabets and But if you go
-
to school, or you are a teacher, and then you
-
call the children here and say, can we come and
-
recite the alphabet? And then child A comes, and then
-
he starts, A, B, C, D, E, F, G. And
-
he says, well done. Then another person comes, and they say, K.
-
O, Z, R.
-
But it's the alphabet that he's giving. So why would
-
you mark that person down?
-
There's no order.
-
Amen. It's the same thing. One, two, three, four, five.
-
You say, come and recite the numeral. And then you
-
start from 21. You say, wait.
-
Hallelujah. Amen. So it's the same thing. Hallelujah. Amen. A
-
comes before B. Then C. Amen. So that's life.
-
God has put in place an orderly arrangement of things.
-
What comes first and next. In this life, it is
-
always going to be God first. In this life, it
-
will always be God first.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
You want to come in. We are talking about divine wealth.
-
You want to come into divine wealth. You want God
-
to bless your life such that when they draw a
-
line between your wealth, it will end up at the
-
doorstep of God.
-
God first. Hallelujah.
-
I want to go and pursue. When my business takes
-
root and begins to flourish, and then I'm able to
-
buy my car, then I'll be regular in church. You
-
will never get there. You will never get there. I'm
-
talking about you being able to pursue God.
-
Hallelujah. And knowing that.
-
I know my Redeemer lives there. I found God. Hallelujah.
-
Amen.
-
In the kingdom, in life, in God's kingdom, it's always
-
God first. His assignment first. Hallelujah. It's the same thing.
-
When you wake up in the morning, God first. When
-
you wake up in the morning, God be fine. You say,
-
where you go to work, it's a very far place,
-
so I need to hit the ground running. And first
-
thing that I think about when I wake up is
-
to just get into the shower and just be off
-
else I'll be late and I'll lose my job.
-
No problem.
-
On your way, can God become first in your thoughts?
-
Hallelujah. Can you connect with God?
-
And be talking to God and holding those conversations with God.
-
I'm not going to mark you.
-
You have the witness within your spirit that I spoke
-
with God this morning. I talked with God and he
-
spoke back to me.
-
Hallelujah.
-
And then you have that witness in your spirit that
-
there is joy and there is strength. When you are backsliding,
-
you know you are backsliding. Because the strength will not
-
be there. The joy will not be there. The binding
-
and loosing, you will lose it. Then you know that
-
maybe what I am doing is not right. I mean,
-
in any case, the Holy Spirit will be giving you
-
the feedback.
-
Can't we talk before you set off? Hallelujah.
-
You see, so when you don't do things orderly, before
-
you realize, your faith life has become basah. You are
-
listless and you are worried. It's that you are not
-
putting order. You are not giving God the best of
-
your time, the best of your talents, the best of
-
your treasures. God makes a demand on that because he
-
wants to be, he created us to be number one
-
in our lives.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
God first, and then money or wealth will follow as
-
our reward. Hallelujah.
-
Amen.
-
So now let's go to the second point. So that
-
is it, the whole commandment. Point number two, we said
-
be careful to do. Now that word there, careful, is
-
the same word that when God created Adam, when he
-
put him in the Garden of Eden, he said, work
-
it and do what?
-
Keep it. Amen.
-
Safeguard it. And he's talking about the word of God.
-
Protect the commandments. Put your life on it. When he
-
says protect, that's what he says. Shield it. I just
-
want us to see how important the word of God
-
is to coming into wealth that God will bestow on
-
you as a steward. So that when you know the
-
word and you know the voice of God, you know
-
the logos, you know the remarks, Even when God makes
-
you a billionaire, God will still remain first in your life. Else,
-
I guarantee you, look, without the word, there's no way.
-
When you become a billionaire, we have seen you. We
-
are praying with you. We are trusting God that you
-
become the billionaire that we are all looking for.
-
Hallelujah.
-
But when you become the billionaire, what's going to.
-
Be your priority list?
-
God first, and then sometimes the pastor, then they'll make
-
their face something.
-
I don't know.
-
They'll make their face something. Don't talk to me. Don't
-
talk to me. I know what I'm doing. You know,
-
you are worrying me. You are worrying me. Already I
-
hear when the people, the seekers and finders, they are
-
calling some.
-
People and they say, you are worrying me. Don't call me.
-
You are worrying me. We will worry you. I told
-
them that we will worry you.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
That is our duty. So you permit us. We will
-
call you.
-
Amen.
-
When you don't come to church, they will seek you.
-
They will call you out. Say a big amen. Hallelujah. Amen.
-
That's the nature of the job.
-
We will call you. We have to call you. When
-
we don't see you in church, we have to call you.
-
If we don't call you later on, you say, leave
-
me alone. When we leave you later on, you will come.
-
Nobody loves me here. So that's why we are calling you.
-
Hallelujah.
-
So they say something when they call, you know, miscall, miscall.
-
Even the miscall, you will return the call.
-
Please.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Amen. We will be calling you. Hallelujah.
-
Amen. So as I'm saying, that word careful is the
-
same word of caution that's used in Genesis 2.15 when
-
God instructed Adam to work and keep the garden.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Amen.
-
Very, very important.
-
So he says that the commandment I give to you,
-
you shall be careful.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
Joshua once said, what did he tell him? This book
-
of the law, out of my life. But meditate in
-
it day and night. And observe to do according to
-
all that is written in it. For then I will
-
make my way prosperous.
-
So is it any.
-
The reason why God would say safeguard your pathway to prosperity.
-
Joshua is about to go for warfare. And God is
-
not talking about military tactics and all that. But he's
-
talking about the word. The word of God.
-
Hallelujah.
-
So the book of the law, the word of God
-
is relevant in your business life and enterprise. God knows
-
why he has given you the grace to be a businessman.
-
Or whatever profession that you are doing.
-
Hallelujah.
-
A pharmacist, whatever. God knows why. He puts you in
-
that place. And yet still, he says that it is
-
this book.
-
Of the law.
-
Safeguard it.
-
Hallelujah. And not just that.
-
In your marriage, safeguard the word. What does God say
-
about how we need to be modeling and conducting ourselves
-
in the marriage and in the union? The new man,
-
if you go into your marriage with the old man,
-
you will collapse the marriage. Amen. So for a child
-
of God, he says this book, school, warfare, marriage, whatever
-
profession that you are pursuing, he says that let the
-
book of the law be relevant in this pursuit of life.
-
The word of God is relevant in the pursuit of
-
an enjoyable marriage. Do it. Just do it for God
-
and see if it will work or it will not work.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
But you know why it's going to work? Now, you
-
just take a little peek. What happened in the case
-
of Joshua? At least during the conquest and the fall
-
of Jericho.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Amen. This is the book of the law. Now, here
-
comes Joshua to the promised land. Jericho lies, you know,
-
is the first town or city that he had to conquer.
-
And they had this impregnable wall as a fortress. And
-
there was no way that they could be able to
-
bring those walls down. Some Bible commentators have said they
-
could do horse racing, child racing on the walls that
-
surrounded Jericho. So the people of Jericho, they were so secured.
-
I'm sure Joshua would have wondered, and God didn't give
-
me any military tactics. And so this book of the law,
-
this book of the law, this book of the law.
-
You know what happened?
-
Lo and behold, as he was surveying the mountain, here
-
comes An angel of the Lord. He says, a man
-
with an outgrown sword comes. And then Joshua asks him,
-
are you for us or against us? He said, I'm
-
not against you, but I've come as the commander of
-
the armies of the living God.
-
What am I saying?
-
Look, when you follow the Lord, God will give you
-
supernatural resources. The kind of challenges in this life, you'll
-
be exhausted. People have lived and died and gone. Trying
-
to solve, you can't do it. You won't have a successful,
-
if you like, life without the Holy Spirit of God.
-
But you and I are fortunate to have the Holy
-
Spirit sitting right inside of us and offering supernatural help
-
because of the opposition.
-
The level of the opposition. And the Bible is clear.
-
We are not warring against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
-
against powers, spiritual forces of wickedness and darkness, We need
-
spiritual resources to fight. Hallelujah.
-
And you see it.
-
Why is it that everybody, all your friends, all your
-
friends who got married, they're having successful marriages by you alone.
-
Hallelujah.
-
And you know that there are certain forces of darkness
-
battling against you. This book of the law, relevant in
-
all pursuit.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
And remember that the word of God is an expression
-
of God's thoughts and his planned acts.
-
And activities on earth.
-
He says, I'm not going to do anything without first
-
making a declaration. That's why it's a book of prophecy.
-
That's why we know how this world will end.
-
That is why we have taken refuge.
-
Because we know that God says that he's going to
-
destroy the world. He says that even if we die,
-
he will wake everyone again and drag every one of
-
us for judgment. So we know how the world is
-
going to end. One day, God is going to say,
-
with the shout of the trumpet, with the blast of
-
the trumpet, and then the voice, whatever, it's going to
-
come to an end. And I'm going to drag everyone
-
to come and face me for judgment. It is appointed
-
once to die after that judgment.
-
See what the reading of your word is going to do.
-
It's going to bring you all this information, and the
-
Holy Spirit is going to help you to process it.
-
So where comes in the wealth? When the Bible says
-
that at the last trumpet, it said all these elements,
-
they shall melt like wax. And then we are going
-
to stand before God and he's going to say, can
-
you give me an account of how you lived your life?
-
And then he goes on further to say that, you
-
know something, the people who gave their lives to Jesus
-
Christ while they were here on earth and lived their
-
life purposefully to give glory and honor to him, they
-
will be spared. When they call them to come and
-
give an account, Jesus Christ will just rise up and say,
-
I'm their lawyer. Papa, they live their life for me.
-
No more questions. Go.
-
You are reading all these things.
-
It's going to shape your values in life. It's going
-
to reorient your thinking. And as you look around and
-
everybody is dying, everybody is dying, and then you know
-
it will hit you that there is one life to
-
live by even when you die. He says, I'll raise
-
you up again for judgment. So what is the way out?
-
And then the Bible gives us the way out. Seek
-
ye first the kingdom of God, and all these other
-
things shall be added. So you realize that the word
-
of God answers the pertinent questions in life. These are
-
the questions that people are asking about. Sometimes, initially, they
-
will think wealth, wealth. They pursue wealth, and then once
-
they get it, like Solomon says in the book of Ecclesiastes, vanity, vanity.
-
I want more. He went more.
-
He said, I want more. I want more. And then
-
only later on, hey, I am dying. So this more, more, more,
-
more thing. Who is going to enjoy them more? Then
-
he says vanity and vanity. And the word of God,
-
it educates us on all these things. Hallelujah.
-
Amen.
-
So the word of God, God wants us to place
-
premium value on it. And the word of God and God,
-
he says they are one. John defines the word of
-
God as Jesus for us.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
And so let us be deliberate and intentional in reading
-
and understanding the word of God, knowing who is instructing us. God. God,
-
our creator, who cannot lie. The word of God is true.
-
There's no lies. All that God has prophesied, it will
-
come to pass.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Amen. And in a way, it tells us that We
-
can trust him. The word of God can be trusted.
-
And hence, we are compelled to obey and to live
-
by the.
-
Truths of those words of God. Hallelujah. Amen.
-
Amen. Very, very, very important. So that's the second point
-
that we are looking. Can we look at it? So
-
be careful. More like safeguard it.
-
Protect.
-
Put your life on it, the word of God. Do
-
everything to get the word of God into your life.
-
Let it dictate the choices that you make.
-
Ah, shaking.
-
The third one we say is that what? Now he's talking,
-
he's going to tell us about the rewards. I like this.
-
He says what? That you may live and multiply.
-
You shall be careful to do it.
-
Remember he said careful to do it. He said when
-
you do that, you may live and multiply. Hallelujah.
-
Amen. Amen. The law of life is.
-
That you have to live you grow mature, and then
-
you begin to what? Replicate, and to give birth, replicate yourself, increase,
-
and multiply. That's the law of life. Remember when he
-
created Adam, he said what? Increase, multiply, replenish the earth.
-
That is the law. That is the blessing that God
-
has put out. And the Bible is saying here that Moses,
-
through God, was telling us that That when you uphold
-
the integrity of the word of God and you do it,
-
you will live. You will not die. The opposite of
-
living is death. It means that so long as you
-
neglect the word of God, it doesn't matter how you,
-
you are dying. And the thing about the Christian life
-
is that when you are dying, you know you are dying.
-
When you are suffocating and choking the life of God
-
in you, you will know it. Now you can't mix,
-
if you like, sin and logical choices in life that
-
are in harmony and in sync with the word of God.
-
All your choices are bizarre. Now you are scratching your
-
head and you say, this is my boyfriend that I
-
went to. I know that this person is not a believer.
-
He doesn't believe in church. Even when I say we
-
should pray, it's also another litmus test. When you are
-
not sure somebody is a believer or not, you say,
-
let's pray. And before you realize, because he's not praying.
-
You know, you say God has answered your prayer and
-
has brought you a very sweet heart. You can't hold on.
-
To that person.
-
When you say, let us pray, he says, oh, they
-
can't answer.
-
Hallelujah. And gradually, you too, you are doing the same thing.
-
After one, two, three, four, five, you start asking. When
-
you go, you can't pray. So you realize that you
-
are dying instead of living and multiplying. And when you
-
are dying, you can't multiply. The Word of God, the
-
Logos and the Rima, it's obedience, safeguarding it. It says
-
you will live and you will multiply. You begin to
-
impact people. There's no way you can market a gospel
-
that your whole lifestyle shows that you don't.
-
Believe in it.
-
Amen. You can't market a gospel that you have not tested,
-
that you have not validated, that you have no signs
-
and proofs and wonders in your life that it works.
-
You can't market it. So if you are a parent
-
and you are not praying because you are not getting signs,
-
how are the children going to pray? You can't encourage
-
them to pray because you know your prayers, they are
-
not working. And you know you are dying. It's all
-
because of the word. What God says is you do
-
the remand and know God's. I said, oh, okay.
-
I've read it. He said, look, God is so amazing.
-
God is so kind. This is for New Testament. He says,
-
in the Old Testament, I think it's Ezekiel 33 or something.
-
He says that it shall not be that in the
-
New Testament, somebody will point his hand to somebody and
-
say that no God or this. He says, I'm going
-
to inscribe the law on the table of your hearts. Amen. Amen.
-
So these 66 books, yes, we are talking about reading it.
-
But in a way, God is saying that there is
-
a way that he can inscribe the commandments on the
-
table of our hearts. Why? Because the Holy Spirit, who
-
is the word, he is there. So even when you
-
have not read it, that's why I said, even when
-
you have not read it, there is something, when you
-
want to make that choice, there is something in the hand,
-
the restraining hand of God, screaming out to you.
-
No, no.
-
I don't want you to turn to the left. Turn
-
to the right.
-
I don't want you to go the way you are going.
-
Stop it. Revive your quiet time.
-
Revive your involvement in church life. Rise up!
-
You will hear him doing it when you are dying.
-
Like David who said, Lord, if you watch on and
-
I die, who is going to praise you? The dead
-
cannot praise you. So God wants you to live. That's
-
what he told them. So that by it is dependent
-
on the word of God. He said, so you will
-
live and multiply. So you will live and multiply. So
-
when you kick out the word of God, the law
-
of multiplication and increase, it just gets snapped. Remember in
-
the beginning it was Adam alone. And God blessed him.
-
And what did God say? Increase.
-
And multiply.
-
On the authority of his word. And he says in
-
Jeremiah 1 verse 12. I always stand behind my word.
-
To perform it.
-
To make sure that it will come to pass.
-
Hallelujah. Amen. Through Adam. All the people in this world.
-
Now we are.
-
Or you can take it from Abraham.
-
Abraham. Abraham had just one son. Isaac.
-
Let's forget that. And then the side son.
-
Ishmael.
-
Then.
-
Isaac had two. Isn't it?
-
Jacob and then Esau. Esau went on the side. Then
-
Jacob had who? Joseph and his 11 brothers. And then
-
Joseph and his 11 brothers who were in Egypt.
-
They were how many?
-
Is it 75 or 70 souls? And then the multiplication.
-
That is the principle in the word of God. God
-
starts with one. So it's the same thing.
-
Your wealth.
-
The wealth creation. The wealth acquisition.
-
It's a process.
-
Say a big amen. Amen. The law of increase, it
-
starts from a certain point.
-
Hallelujah.
-
God said, I will bless you and I will multiply you.
-
Eventually, look at what happened to them. And it's the
-
same thing.
-
God wants to endow us with the riches.
-
We're going to work for it. Hallelujah.
-
But it will go little by little. And then it
-
will expand. So you don't, you don't that, oh, I
-
have finished school. I come from a dysfunctional background. And,
-
you know, I need to make money for my family. Hey,
-
where were that family before when you found God? That's
-
why I say, when I see such life, I say,
-
you never knew God. It was all pretense. You never
-
knew God. You were looking for God, for the spirit
-
of Mammon and the world. Because if you knew God
-
and you took time to understand him, now that God
-
has enriched you, you won't drift away from the altars
-
of God. It's a conundrum I'm still trying to wrap
-
my mind around why people drift away from church immediately
-
that they become prosperous.
-
Hallelujah.
-
And then sometimes you hear to say, so you don't
-
serve God again. No, it's very difficult.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Yeah.
-
Amen.
-
So Adam was blessed by God to increase and multiply. Why?
-
Decrease is seen as a curse or disfavor from God.
-
Hallelujah.
-
But God will take us through the process. Go through
-
the process. God will take us through the process. Be
-
patient in the hands of God. Let him take you
-
through the process. He promised Abraham. He started from him.
-
That's what we have enumerated. Then it went to Isaac.
-
Then it went to Jacob. Then it went to Joseph
-
and his 12 brothers. Then by the time that Moses comes,
-
they had multiplied.
-
They were in millions.
-
That's how it works.
-
Hallelujah.
-
There's a gradual increase. And then the explosion or exponential growth.
-
Hallelujah.
-
At the hands of God. It's God that brings the multiplications. Amen. Hallelujah.
-
And God is saying that all that he requires for
-
us to do is to live by the precepts of
-
the word. And that when we live, we will not die.
-
Hallelujah. If we don't live.
-
On the authority of the word of God, we will
-
not be fruitful in the kingdom of God. And most often,
-
the reason why some eventually drift away from God is
-
the fact that you know that he didn't follow godly principles.
-
There's a certain, let me say this. God is thoughtful.
-
The three people, they have a certain name that they
-
use to describe God. I don't know the English version,
-
but they say, or is it the people who sing that?
-
Is it in the Bible? Is it in the Bible?
-
Okay. But it just tells you something about God. Okay. Hallelujah.
-
He wanted to walk with God. Enoch walked 300 years
-
with God. Died at 365. Abraham, when he was called,
-
he was 75. He died at 175. He walked with
-
God for 100 years. Hey, Joseph was 17 when they
-
saw him. Joseph lived to 110. At 17, when we
-
meet him in the Bible, he was walking with God.
-
And he walked for the next 93 years of his
-
life with God. And they all come out with the
-
same verdict. Don't mess up with God. You want to
-
go along with God?
-
The word. The word.
-
Whatever he has said, just do it. And just count
-
on him to fulfill his word. God has promised that
-
he will bless us. He will bless us. He will
-
increase us. He said we must live and not die.
-
How many people have not said that this church will die?
-
Sometimes I tell you.
-
We are living and thriving and multiplying only because of
-
the presence of God. Let us do things that will
-
kick the spirit of God away. There are prophecies. There
-
are doomsday prophecies that will come to pass. One day
-
you come, the whole place will have been shut down.
-
Or even if there will be no presence here. Because
-
we would have choked out the spirit and the presence
-
of God.
-
Hallelujah. Amen.
-
And those of us who want this church to live
-
and to thrive and to multiply, we need, all of us, collectively,
-
individually we must do our part, collectively we must do
-
our part to maintain the presence of God, to cultivate
-
his presence, to live by his word, to organize our
-
church services and everything that we do by the word
-
of God, to bring order, order in everything.
-
That we are doing. Hallelujah. Amen. We honor our leaders. Amen.
-
In every corner, there is one leader, one pastor.
-
Hallelujah. We all rally around.
-
God speaks. And then for us leaders, we have to
-
be spirit-filled because it is the word of God that
-
will come to pass. If you become carnal as a leader,
-
then you are earmarking that group that you are supervising
-
for death. Me, if I become carnal, this church will die.
-
the Holy Spirit will move away. So we need Spirit-filled
-
leaders because they will be ordered by God, the Holy Spirit.
-
And whatever God gives them to supervise, it will thrive.
-
It will flourish.
-
Before you realize that, God is injecting innovative ideas and thoughts.
-
And it's all the, what's the name?
-
The ushers.
-
That must be the Spirit of God must be there
-
ordering you.
-
Amen.
-
The singers. The Spirit of God. All of us, whatever
-
we are doing, sanctuary keepers, filled with the Spirit of God,
-
so we will live and not die and multiply and
-
not die.
-
The Word of God. The Word of God. Rise up
-
on your feet. We'll continue the other two the next
-
time we meet. Hallelujah. Oh, I said a hallelujah. Amen.
-
How are we going to be able to go in
-
and possess, to go in and possess the land and
-
Look at how God has taken an oath. God has
-
sworn that he will give us the wealth and bring
-
us into prosperity. Hallelujah.
-
Amen.
