We are Pastor and Dick Neskiosen from the Harvest Chapel International,

Denyame Komwase. We are glad to be bringing you another

episode of our Morning Glory Devotions. as we continue our series,

Rest for Our Souls. Let us kindly share a word

of prayer. Dear Father, thank you for today. We count

it a great blessing to be here once again to

listen to your word of truth. Open our hearts to

receive what you have for us for today. In Jesus'

mighty name. Amen.

Amen.

Let us kindly take our confession for today from Joshua

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart from my mouth,

but I shall meditate in it day and night, that

I may observe to do according to all that is

For then I will make my way prosperous, and then

I will have good success. Amen. Our theme for today's

message is Rest for Our Souls, Part 4. Come to Me.

Numbers 21 verse 6 to 9. Then the Lord sent

Numbers 21:6–9

venomous snakes among them. They bit the people and many

Israelites died. The people came to Moses and said, We

sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you.

Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.

So Moses prayed for the people. The Lord said to Moses,

Make a snake and put it up on a pole.

Anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.

So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up

on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a

snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived. The

Lord add his blessings to the reading and hearing of

his word.

Thanks be to God. Amen. Rest for our souls. Part 4.

Come to me. Yesterday, we saw how the physical rest

Israel enjoyed in the Promised Land was cut short because

they drifted away from God. We learned the hard truth

that earthly blessings and milestones can never sustain the human soul.

But thanks be to God, the story does not end

in disappointment. Hebrews chapter 4 verse 1 declares a profound truth.

Hebrews 4:1

that the promise of entering His rest still stands. Humanity

has tried every avenue and exhausted its strength in trying

to cure the restlessness of the soul. And right at

the crossroads of our weariness, the fulfillment of that promise appears.

There is no call more tender than the words of Jesus,

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden.

and I will give you rest. This is not a

generic invitation. It is a personal one, spoken to every

heart weighed down by care, guilt, fear, or weariness. Life

has a way of loading us with burdens of all sorts. Yet,

in the midst of all these burdens, Christ stands before

us with open arms, ready to exchange our heaviness for

His peace Why is Jesus the only one who can

offer this? Because he alone laid down his life to

pay the debt of our sins. No politician, philosopher, or

earthly wealth went to the cross for you. Only Jesus did. Therefore,

he alone is qualified to give rest to your soul.

But how do we answer this call? The very first

step to receiving this rest is simply doing the natural

thing when anyone calls out to you. To look in

the direction of the person calling out. And this time,

this person is Jesus. Remember the account we read in

Numbers 21? When the Israelites were bitten by venomous serpents

in the wilderness as a result of their own disobedience,

The venom of death was running through their veins. God

instructed Moses to lift a bronze serpent on a pole.

The dying people were not asked to brew their own

medicine or fight the venom in their own strength. They

simply had to turn their gaze, look at the serpent,

and live. To look in the direction of Jesus is

to respond to the call and walk in the direction

of the voice heard And that voice will lead us

back home, into the arms of our loving Father. It

is exactly what the prodigal son did. He wandered into

a distant land, trusting that the world could satisfy his

restless heart. But it only left him broken and empty.

Then he came to his senses. He repented, remembered his

father's house, and turned his face toward home. walked in

that direction until he was in the arms of his

beloved father. Beloved, no matter how far you have strayed

or how much you have relied on other things to

help you out of your restlessness, the journey to true

rest begins the moment you turn your attention away from

your own efforts and fix your eyes on Jesus. To

take this step, We must lay aside our pride, shyness, excuses,

and self-dependence, coming to Him just as we are, with

an honest, open, and willing heart, trusting Him alone to

care for our restless souls. He is ready to receive you,

restore you, and give you rest that the world cannot offer.

He will never ever turn you away. So today, whatever

your burden may be or your load of care, the

Father bids you to come. Come boldly, come sincerely, come

open with a heart of fervent trust. Whisper your very

need and say, Father, here I come, broken, tarted, battered

and lost. I am helpless and at my wit's end.

Please help my restless soul. Simply come. Your father is waiting.

He is inviting you back to Eden. So come now. Come.

God richly bless you. Let us kindly take our memory

Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Father, thank

you for your promise of rest and for calling out

to us to come. We come to you with all

our burdens and our load of care that we will

find your promised rest. Please help us to turn our

eyes away from the world and from our helpless selves

and fix our gaze entirely on you, trusting you alone

to heal our souls. and give us your promised rest.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

the moment we lay aside our pride, turn our gaze

and attention to Jesus, and walk in the direction of
