-
is a blessing to have you in our midst and
-
you are warmly welcome to Radio ACI today for our
-
morning glory devotion. Privileged to be facilitating today's devotion Our
-
pastor and Mrs. Bruce Smith from Harvest Chapel International, Kumasi.
-
Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Heavenly Father,
-
take your rightful place among us this morning. Open our
-
eyes and cause us to behold wondrous things out of
-
your word. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Let us kindly
-
take our confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua
-
chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall
-
not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate
-
in it day and night, that I may observe to
-
do according to all that is written in it. For
-
then I will make my way prosperous, and then I
-
will have good success. Amen. Today's message is captioned, Hold Fast,
-
God is Faithful Hold Fast, God is Faithful A script
-
written by Mrs. Mary Iffa. And our scripture verses and
-
scripture reading will be taken from Genesis chapter 35. We'll
Genesis 35 chapter mention
-
be reading the verses 5, 12 to 13, 23 to 24,
-
and then 28. Genesis chapter 37, the verses 5, 12
Genesis 37 chapter mention
-
to 13, 23 to 24, and the verse 28. Let
-
us kindly hear the word of the Lord. Now Joseph
-
had a dream and he told it to his brothers
-
and they hated him even more. Then his brothers went
-
to feed their father's flock in Shechem. And Israel said
-
to Joseph, Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come,
-
I will send you to them. So he said to him,
-
Here I am. So it came to pass, when Joseph
-
had come to his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of
-
his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him.
-
Then they took him and cast him into a pit,
-
and the pit was empty. There was no water in it.
-
Verse 28. Then Midianite traders passed by. So the brothers
-
pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit
-
and sold him to the Ishmaelites for 20 shekels of silver.
-
And they took Joseph to Egypt. May the Lord add
-
his blessing to the reading and hearing of his word.
-
Thanks be to God. Hold fast. God is faithful. Hold fast.
-
God is faithful. When the future seems uncertain, when the
-
path taken and decision made from the onset appears wrong
-
after many failures and tragedies, when there is no helping
-
hand and no one to pour out your hearts to,
-
what do you do and what actions do you take?
-
In today's scripture, We look at the life of a
-
young man named Joseph who had lovely dreams and was
-
assured of God's intentions for his life. Everything seemed fine
-
from the beginning. But the narrative of his life took
-
another turn in just a day. His own blood brothers
-
sold him out to strangers. As if that wasn't enough,
-
he became a burnt man in another man's land. I
-
am very certain that he had many questions running through
-
his mind. How is my life going to turn out?
-
What happens to my dreams? In all this confusion, Joseph
-
had a posture. A posture of the heart that said
-
in all these trials and pain, I still choose God.
-
I still choose to fear him and follow his ways.
-
The Bible records that he was tested, but his actions
-
confirmed his great love and fear for God. A look
-
as though God was absent and silent all this while,
-
but he was watching. God rewarded Joseph's obedience towards him
-
and brought to pass what he told him through dreams
-
in the early stages of his life. Beloved, God is
-
not a man that he should lie, as the word
-
of God reminds us in Numbers chapter 23 verse 18.
-
The challenges you may be going through is called process.
-
The posture of your heart and your actions really matters
-
in this season of your life. When God comes with
-
your reward in his hands, will he find you on
-
his side? Don't be dismayed. Don't be crushed down. God
-
is much closer than you think. He will glorify himself
-
in your life. Amen. Today's memory verse is taken from
-
the book of Hebrews chapter 10 verse 23. Hebrews chapter
-
10 verse 23. Reading from the New King James Version.
-
