  11. Welcome to Logos Rima R with God's servant, Rev.

  12. Dr.

  13. Joseph Baalbin, Head Pastor of Harvest Chapel International Kumasi. And now,

  14. to today's message.

  15. Amen.

  16. Let's take our confession from Joshua 1 verse 8, this.

    Joshua 1:8

  17. Book of the Lord.

  18. Shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall

  19. meditate in it day and night, and I may observe

  20. to do according to all that is written in it.

  21. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then

  22. I will have good success.

  23. Amen.

  24. Why don't you take your seats and express and say, Hallelujah.

  25. Amen. So we are continuing with our.

  26. Lessons in it, and I hope that we'll just look

  27. at the life of Abraham.

  28. Amen.

  29. And so you see Abraham in his journey with God.

  30. At certain stages, God will come, reiterate the covenant, and

  31. then give next step. If you don't take the first step,

  32. the second step is not going to come. We are

  33. talking about the pathway to divine will. You have to

  34. take the first step. You decide like I also. You

  35. can decide that. Ask for your type. You won't call

  36. it type. Call it whatever you want. Call it generous offering.

  37. or superfluous offering. Because the principle is what? You sow generously,

  38. you reap generously. So if you understand this principle, you're

  39. not going to debate with God about giving him 10%, 10%,

  40. tithing 10%, and then you get to enjoy the 90,

  41. and you want to debate God on it.

  42. Are you getting it?

  43. When the New Testament is very clear, generous sowing guarantees

  44. generous reaping.

  45. Hallelujah.

  46. And it applies to time, talent, and treasure Those of

  47. us who sometimes think that my work schedule is so

  48. tight that I can't have time to serve God. The

  49. principle who, as long as this earth remains, seek time

  50. and harvest shall never cease before God. You sow time,

  51. God will create time for you to be able to

  52. complete and finish up your chores.

  53. Amen.

  54. The other day I was saying when I was working

  55. in the hospital, in the days that I know I

  56. have to go to church and I know that I'm

  57. going to run.

  58. A clinic, I go early. I go early. Go and

  59. do my rounds.

  60. That's so we can gain the time. Because I know

  61. that if I go the normal time, probably I'll be late.

  62. And I'm not going to be able to make it.

  63. So God will show you.

  64. Hallelujah. Amen.

  65. So what did Abraham have to do to bring him

  66. to that divine wealth? That's what we have said. He

  67. left country. He left kindred. He left father's house. He

  68. separated himself. And God also honored him at every stage

  69. in the journey with God. God brought in fresh instruction

  70. that immediately he did it. Then it was being hallelujah.

  71. That's the fourth point. In Israel specifically, he told them,

  72. go in and possess the land. By military force. And

  73. so Joshua did it. And he says that all the

  74. promises that God promised, it was in Tully.

  75. Amen.

  76. When they went in, maybe it was post-summer, if you

  77. look at the narrative. So the people and the nations,

  78. they are harvested. It says the barns.

  79. That they went. You know, can you imagine? They were sharing.

  80. And so when you go to the home that you

  81. will be assigned, when you go and you go to

  82. the kitchen, the kitchen is fully stocked with food.

  83. Hallelujah.

  84. Microwave is there. And refrigerator is there. You just think

  85. about yum is there. If you like potatoes, potatoes is there.

  86. Hallelujah. And that's why God was saying, you didn't work

  87. for it. I did it for you.

  88. Divine wealth, you realize that, look, it outstrips your output.

  89. It's by favor.

  90. Your workplace, your boss will assign a certain salary for

  91. you and you say, this is crazy.

  92. I don't deserve it.

  93. It is God. That's how he does it. Hallelujah. Or

  94. business favor. A certain contract will come. And then you

  95. are just wondering where from this.

  96. God. Hallelujah.

  97. And God can never lie. God is on oath to

  98. bless us. So that's the last point there. He said

  99. the Lord swore to your father to give you this.

  100. God is on oath to bless, to increase, and to

  101. multiply us and our families so long as we meet

  102. the terms of the covenant and walk in obedience.

  103. Amen.

  104. Turn to someone and say, God cannot lie to us. Amen.

  105. I have this point here. It's the point that I

  106. was making to the sister. No seed ever dies in

  107. the hands of God or under His watch.

  108. Let me take it again.

  109. No seed ever dies in the hands of God or

  110. under His watch. You never get less time, talents, or

  111. treasures To spend on yourself and your legitimate interest just

  112. because you gave some proportion of your three T's to God.

  113. Can I take it again? Very, very important.

  114. No seed ever dies in the hands of God or

  115. under his watch. And you never get less time, talents,

  116. or treasures to spend on yourself and your legitimate interest

  117. just because you give some proportion of your three T's

  118. to God.

  119. That's all I've been saying. Yes. Capturing it in words. Hallelujah.

  120. Turn to someone and say, nothing ever diminishes in the

  121. hands of God.

  122. Hallelujah. Amen. Now let me make this other point. Regular

  123. giving to God.

  124. Whether it's the same thing, I'm making it, putting it

  125. in different ways so it can register. Regular giving to God.

  126. Whether tithing or free offerings will never diminish the reserves

  127. of your wealth or resources.

  128. You believe it? Hallelujah.

  129. You can, I can dare you, you can give whatever

  130. is in your pocket now, today, and say, I'm going

  131. to walk home, including your lunch and your breakfast tomorrow.

  132. And as you are going, I can assure you here,

  133. what a foolish thing did I do? Why did I

  134. do this? You know, I'm sure pastor, I shouldn't have

  135. been listening to pastor. Hey, tomorrow, what will I do?

  136. But rather as you are going and say, God, I

  137. know you are the possessor of heaven and the earth.

  138. Make those positive confessions. You said, as long as this

  139. earth remains, see time and harvest. Day and night, hallelujah,

  140. shall never cease before you. And then watch it, whether

  141. you eat tomorrow or not. Tomorrow, if you don't eat,

  142. come and tell me. Then me, I'll fulfill the promise.

  143. I'll give you something.

  144. Hallelujah. nullify the negative lies of the devil.

  145. It just works. God is gracious. God is magnanimous. God

  146. is our benefactor. And he's a very, very good God.

  147. Hallelujah.

  148. So nothing ever diminishes. If you do, you leave it

  149. in God's hand, regular giving to God, your tithe, your

  150. free offering, it will never diminish the reserves of your

  151. wealth or resources.

  152. Hallelujah. Amen.

  153. But then let's remember that the promise of increase and

  154. blessings in the hands of God is premised on the

  155. understanding that you are a covenant child of God, walking

  156. in grace and obedience. That is so crucial. You want

  157. to see and validate the word of God. Look, walk

  158. in obedience. That one God won't compromise. His holiness. He

  159. can't walk with you if you are walking in disobedience.

  160. He can't fulfill his vows. He needs to draw close.

  161. to give you those specific instructions that will get you

  162. to that place. So you will live and multiply and

  163. not die. So your finances will not die. When it

  164. is diminishing, should I, you know, and like this is

  165. the suggestion, should I withhold?

  166. No.

  167. It won't run dry. When it is diminishing, then God

  168. is setting you up for a miracle. Say a big amen. Hallelujah.

  169. Amen.

  170. Abraham was willing to give God Guys, let's look at

  171. that story. As I said, this is Abraham. Abraham started

  172. it all.

  173. Hallelujah.

  174. And God unknit every promise, every covenant promise that he

  175. spoke to Abraham. Let's look at how this amazing patriarch

  176. got into the blessings. Sometimes we hear people say, we

  177. want to come into Abrahamic covenant blessings. Are you prepared

  178. to do what Abraham did? I converted and went, no, no.

  179. believers will like it, when Abraham's blessings is coming on you, pray.

  180. And then we'll.

  181. All be praying. The blessings of Abraham. Are you prepared

  182. to do what Abraham did? Okay, let's look at the story.

  183. Genesis 22. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So as I've said, it's been progressive,

  184. but now God is about to do the biggest.

  185. Thing in his life. I hope you are getting it.

  186. So you want to come into wealth, divine wealth, and

  187. we have seen it. Isaac, despite the fact that Abraham

  188. left all the blessings to him. And then I said,

  189. but why did you pamper Isaac like that? The man,

  190. he got all the legacy from Abraham. All Abraham's blessings

  191. were passed on to Isaac. And then now we are

  192. reading in Genesis 26 that the man began to prosper

  193. and God continued to prosper him until he became so prosperous.

  194. So you can imagine. And Isaac was a very spirit-filled man.

  195. As we read this story, it's very interesting. Scholars believe

  196. that at the time that God was testing Abraham, you know,

  197. I mean, there's a disagreement anyway because the man, Sarah,

  198. Sarah died at 127.

  199. Amen. Amen.

  200. And Isaac was born at 90 years. So when Sarah died,

  201. Isaac was 37. So between his birth and 37 years,

  202. that's when this particular sacrifice was demanded of Abraham. But

  203. scholars have believed that maybe conservatively, maybe around 25, because

  204. he was called a lad, so a young boy. But

  205. there's a lot of speculation around it.

  206. But let's look at it.

  207. So it came to pass after these things, and that

  208. was when, this is chapter 22, 21 in chapter 21.

    Isaiah 22 chapter mention

  209. That was when Isaac was born. So just one chapter later,

  210. now here comes God to Abraham. But the point is

  211. very clear. God tested Abraham. So our given life, you

  212. want to enter into wealth creation, divine creation, God will

  213. test you. God will test you. By this point in time,

  214. he had brought him, you know, that far. And if

  215. you like, he had built up his faith for this

  216. big test. And he said to him, here I am.

  217. Then he said, take now your son, your only son Isaac,

  218. whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah

  219. and offer him there as a burnt offering in one

  220. of the mountains of which I shall tell you. If

  221. he had said yes, son, you can be sure Ishmael

  222. would have been grabbed.

  223. Hallelujah.

  224. But he said, your Isaac, your Isaac. Sometimes you are,

  225. and then we are saying, give, give, and then immediately

  226. your mind will flash. Or you open your purse, and

  227. then there's red.

  228. Which one is the red? One gana. Two and red,

  229. two is there. Then the blue, five gana. The brown.

  230. And then you immediately offer. Some of us, we have

  231. given one CD often for a long time. Every time

  232. you go in, the red one, one gana. Now you

  233. are growing the law, you are maturing, and then Now

  234. he's whispering and says that, son, daughter, you want to

  235. get into that place of increased multiplication? Mount Ghana is

  236. not going to take you there, I assure you. Say

  237. amen to that.

  238. Amen. Hallelujah.

  239. So he said, take your son, your only son Isaac,

  240. whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah

  241. and offer him there as a burnt offering on one

  242. of the mountains of which I shall tell you.

  243. So look at that.

  244. So Abraham rose early in the morning.

  245. Early. Obedience early in the morning.

  246. I'm sure some of us that day, that's the day

  247. that we will sleep more and be tossing in bed.

  248. This dream, this, did I hear God? My only begotten,

  249. my only son. Yes, you can say my only son.

  250. I should know this one.

  251. No, no. But early in the morning, he rose up.

  252. The speed, the speed, the speed with which we obey

  253. divine commandments.

  254. If you delay, then something else will come.

  255. And then early in the morning, Abraham rose up, saddled

  256. his donkey. Now look at that. When I was reading this,

  257. I was smiling. Saddled his donkey and took two of

  258. his young men with him and Isaac, his son. And

  259. he split the wood for the burnt offering and arose

  260. and went. To the place of which God had told him.

  261. Let's go on.

  262. Then on the third day, it's down there. So then

  263. on the third day, we are in verse 4. Abraham

  264. lifted his eyes and saw the place of how he

  265. had walked three days.

  266. Three days.

  267. And yesterday he was going. He had three good days

  268. to change his mind and go back. That was a dream.

  269. And dreams are not realistic. And Abraham said to his

  270. young men, stay here with the donkey. The lad and

  271. I will go yonder. So that's where some theologians, Bible

  272. scholars think that he was a lad. So, you know,

  273. young age, adolescence, whatever it is. Stay here with the donkey.

  274. The lad and I will go yonder and worship. And

  275. he said, we will come back to you.

  276. Look at six. That's what I was looking at.

  277. So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and

  278. laid it on Isaac, his son. And he took the

  279. fire in his hand. And the knife, I would have

  280. left the knife behind.

  281. Hallelujah. And the two of them together. Amen.

  282. And the knife, meaning that he was committed to doing it.

  283. Have you ever felt like you are going to, if

  284. I told you that Sunday we're going to do fundraising,

  285. everybody bring your checkbook, bring your purse, make sure your

  286. Momo account is active.

  287. And Will you leave your phone in the house?

  288. And then take some one CD and put it in your,

  289. and then when you reach the filling station, can you,

  290. I have 20 CDs, can you give me one CD, 10?

  291. So that at every call, I'll be able to give

  292. one gun. If they do 10 calls, I'll be present.

  293. Hallelujah.

  294. So he took the knife, was so committed. Abraham was committed.

  295. And the two of them went together. But Isaac spoke

  296. to Abraham and his father and said, My father.

  297. And he said, Here I am, my son. Then he said, Look,

  298. the fire and the wood.

  299. But where is the lamp for a burnt offering? And

  300. Abraham said, My son, God will provide for himself the

  301. lamp for a burnt offering. So the two of them

  302. went together. We know about how God hates human sacrifice.

  303. And yet still, Abraham was convinced that he knew the

  304. voice of God. Remember what God had called. God had

  305. called him. Genesis chapter 12, no child. God had honored him.

    Genesis 12 chapter mention

  306. He had increased him. He had blessed him. He had

  307. even spoken by this time of the 400 years that

  308. would be spent in Egypt in a foreign land under slavery.

  309. God had given him a lot.

  310. He was having all these interactions with God such that

  311. It was not possible. Now God will come and say

  312. the very, very person that all these blessings were going

  313. to be activated should be slaughtered and offered as an

  314. offering and a sacrifice. When God hates human sacrifice, it

  315. was very tough on Abraham.

  316. And yet still, because he knew the voice of God,

  317. he knew he had to just go along.

  318. And some scholars will say some of the responses that

  319. he was giving to Isaac that Abraham, God will provide

  320. for himself the lamb for a burnt offering.

  321. That was prophetic within his spirit.

  322. And yesterday he took the knife just to show her

  323. that he was prepared to do it. Now let's continue

  324. on how willing was he or whether he was hesitant

  325. and all that. So when they came to the place,

  326. verse 9, of which God had told him, Abraham built

  327. an altar there, placed the wood in it, and he

  328. bound Isaac there. And that's why scholars will say Isaac

  329. was so compliant and a man of faith, you know,

  330. that at his age, you know, he should have run away.

  331. He didn't even struggle with his dad. That if it

  332. has to be done, then I'm going to cooperate. And

  333. that's why they will say Isaac is like a typology

  334. of Jesus Christ.

  335. Jesus knew he was going to be crucified.

  336. Dad, if it has to be done, he said, nonetheless,

  337. not my will, but let.

  338. Your will be done. And God raised him up again.

  339. And in Romans chapter 4, the Bible comments on this.

    Romans 4 chapter mention

  340. That Abraham knew that God would raise Isaac again. Now 10,

  341. and Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knight

  342. to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord

  343. called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham.

  344. So he said, here I am.

  345. And he said, do not lay your hand on the

  346. lad or do anything to him. For now I know

  347. that you fear God, you revere him, you will obey

  348. his every express commandment, since you have not withheld your son,

  349. your only son from me. Then Abraham lifted his eyes

  350. and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught

  351. in a.

  352. Thicket by a stone.

  353. So Abraham went and took the ram and offered it

  354. up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And

  355. Abraham called the name of the place the Lord will provide,

  356. Jehovah Jireh, as it is said to this day, in

  357. the mount of the Lord it shall be provided. Now

  358. there's that Section that I like so much I wanted

  359. to take note. And the angel of the Lord called

  360. to Abraham a second time from heaven. And he said,

  361. by myself, I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you

  362. have done this and have not withheld your son, your

  363. only son.

  364. I will surely bless you. I will surely multiply your.

  365. Offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sun

  366. that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess

  367. the gates of the enemies. Now, you can see what

  368. was happening in Moses' time, 400 years later.

  369. The seed that he sowed. God is on oath that

  370. I will bless you.

  371. Let's look at the commentary here. The commentary on it

  372. is in Hebrews 6, 13-15. Now it says that, For

  373. when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had

  374. no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying,

  375. Surely I will bless you and multiply you. And thus Abraham,

  376. having patiently waited, obtained the promise. For people swear by

  377. something greater than themselves. And in all their disputes on oath,

  378. an oath is final for confession. So when God desired

  379. to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise

  380. the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with

  381. an oath. So that by two unchangeable things in which

  382. it is impossible for God to lie, we who have

  383. fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast

  384. to the hope set before us. This is the Bible's

  385. commentary on what Abraham did that day. And God came

  386. there and said, I will surely bless you and I

  387. will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven

  388. and as the sun that is on the seashore. And

  389. your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies. And

  390. in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth

  391. be blessed because you have obeyed me.

  392. All because you have obeyed me.

  393. You want to come into divine wealth?

  394. There is order.

  395. That's what we've been talking about. Order in giving. Abraham

  396. had one son. One son that promised all the... Just

  397. imagine if Isaac had died and Abraham had rose up

  398. and came back down the Mount of Moriah and met

  399. the boys there and.

  400. He said, oh, you know, guys, let's go.

  401. No, no speech. No, I can't talk about this. Oh,

  402. can you imagine all, all the things that he did,

  403. all the covenant that he's cut that day. God said,

  404. bring me an hypha, bring me this. He brought it,

  405. slaughter it, he slaughtered, keep watch. And then he said

  406. he saw a torch, you know, going through and all

  407. the dreams, everything would have been nullified. God would have

  408. proved himself as a liar. And a deceiver, can you

  409. imagine him going back to Ur, or is it Hur,

  410. that place?

  411. Hallelujah.

  412. Where he left several years ago and said that God

  413. has said that I should follow him to an unknown

  414. place and that he's going to bless me. Hey, the

  415. damage repair that needed to.

  416. Have been done.

  417. So what about, that's Abraham. And we saw the life

  418. of Moses and the Israelites. Now, God said, because of Abraham,

  419. what he did, and I am on oath.

  420. I am on oath.

  421. Now, can we now go in now and then convert

  422. the blessings of Abraham?

  423. You and I, New Testament believer. God is on oath.

  424. He said, I swore. Amen. God is on oath.

  425. He says, as long as this earth remains, seed time

  426. and harvest shall not cease.

  427. If you give, he says, if you.

  428. Sow bountifully, you will reap bountifully. And if you sow sparingly,

  429. you will reap sparingly. And now he's saying that, look, guys,

  430. you cannot serve God and my mom. Either you're going

  431. to be faithful to one and unfaithful to the other.

  432. You can't serve God and my mom together.

  433. You have to choose.

  434. But then the blessings that we need to be able

  435. to do all the things that God has commanded us

  436. to do.

  437. It all sits in His hands. And we have all

  438. these promises.

  439. The promises of God, they are saying, scholars have come,

  440. they say over 7,000 promises in the word of God

  441. as to what God says he will do.

  442. But beloved, they are all premised on the spirit of obedience. Obedience.

  443. And that's why we say, even when you have not

  444. heard anything, my son, my son, my daughter, you know something,

  445. from today going, I am sparing you from typhoon.

  446. And then you say, no. The principles of the word.

  447. So no matter what somebody else will say, or you hear,

  448. or the arguments that you make, you're the child of

  449. God that God has spoken to. You're quiet and God

  450. has whispered to you. I've read it and you know.

  451. You know about the thing about the giving thing is

  452. that when you are in the presence of God and

  453. he's there, and he said, none shall appear before me empty-handed.

  454. You just know that.

  455. When you are going and say, I need to get

  456. an offering to go and pay homage to the king.

  457. It's intrinsic. You just know that I must do it.

  458. And sometimes you give the offering and you know. Or

  459. just before you give it, you take it and you

  460. just know that, no, no, no, this is not befitting

  461. of the king.

  462. And all that he has been doing for me.

  463. After all, he owns it all. The silver and the

  464. gold are his. And he says that when I sow,

  465. I will reap. He said, bring ye all the tithes.

  466. Bring ye all the offerings. There will be meat in

  467. my house. Try me and see if I'm not going

  468. to open the windows of heaven and pour you out

  469. such blessing that there shall not be room enough to

  470. receive it. Order him given. God says, me first, me second,

  471. me last. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and

  472. his righteousness. And all these other things. He says, I know.

  473. I know you need them. It is the thing that

  474. the people of the world, they go chasing after. And

  475. I know you need them. But, seek me first. And

  476. all these things shall be added unto you. Hallelujah.

  477. Amen. Oh, Jesus. Jesus.

  478. You want to come into Abrahamic covenant blessings. There's going

  479. to be a demand from God.

  480. Shall we rise up?
