Who’s Your One? // Love Into The Light series (part 1) // Pastor Drew

all right how we doing let's try that

again okay okay I'm feeling it guys this

last week we were able to bring nine of

us up to or down to Houston and we went

to a conference called cmn conference is

church multiplication Network and it was

such a thrilling fun experience come on

anybody that was in here that went come

on let's go we got a couple of us here

uh what what we the cmn is is helped to

launch and train so that Collective

Church could be in existence and we had

a group of nine of us that we were able

to uh help with the cost of going down

there and taken part in this and really

to invest in leadership to invest in the

next generation of leaders and within

this church I believe that God is

calling people from within here to be

raised up into Ministry and to be sent

out into some

expression of church leadership whether

that's going into Ministry whether that

is planting a church I believe that

we've got church Planters in this room

amen I believe that we've got Global

workers missionaries that are going to

be going to the other side of the world

and bringing the gospel to areas that do

not have the gospel that do not have

access to the gospel I believe that's in

this room and uh and and that's we want

to make sure we're investing in that and

uh we got a group of some incredible

incredible leaders that we brought with

us down there but uh I want to I want to

if you can open up your Bibles to Luke

Luke 15 · chapter mention

15 Luke chapter 15 this is uh verse

Luke 15 · chapter mention

starting right away in verse one Luke 15

verse1

this is often called the parable of the

lost

sheep Luke 15 verse1 and we're going to

go ahead and read in this you can grab a

pen and underline in your Bible you can

highlight some of these things but

here's here's we're going to start right

here verse one says Tax

Collectors which were not known to be

the best people out there uh and other

notorious

Sinners often came to listen to Jesus

teach I think there's a there may be a

difference because it's it's it's

different than like a sinner right

that's literally

everyone right that's I don't know who

that doesn't include but notorious

sinners like oh man I know what they do

on the weekends and it is not holy right

that is that's the idea and it says this

made the Pharisees who are the religious

Elites the spiritual kind of the church

leaders of the day made the Pharisees

and the teachers of religious law

complain that Jesus was associating with

such

sinful

people even eating with them there's a

communion and a level ground if you are

eating with your community and and

there's this there there's this

camaraderie that you get there so so

Jesus told them this story he says if a

man has a hundred

sheep and one of them gets lost what

will he do

won't he leave the 99 others in the

wilderness and go search for the one

that is lost until he finds it verse

five and when he has found it he will

joyfully carry it home on his shoulders

when he arrives he'll call together his

friends and his neighbors saying Rejoice

with me cuz I have found a lost sheep

in the same way there is more joy come

on say it with me there's more what joy

in heaven over one Lost Sinner who

repents and returns to God then over 99

others who are righteous and haven't

strayed

away let's pray heavenly father I just

pray that your word would cement into

our hearts God I pray that the the

messages and the things that you want to

teach to us us from this passage would

be made clear God I pray that you would

speak through me God I pray that you

would Minister in this place and God

that my words would not be the words

that people hear but they would hear

most loudly your words into their hearts

would you minister to every single one

of us would you convict every single one

of

us we are here

surrendered ready for you to lead

however

you want to lead in the mighty name of

Jesus we

pray amen amen all right so we're

starting a new series today it's called

love into the light and this is kind of

the core passage here it's it's the

parable of the lost sheep and one of the

things that that when we look at life in

Christ Jesus his ministry especially his

ministry to the really churchy people to

the

Pharisees that his ministry there was

like I want to break your mindset I want

you to

unlearn the things that you thought they

they they were a certain way and I want

you to

relearn a new paradigm a new way of

operating and this is what he calls the

kingdom of

heaven and so this is when when they're

like

okay Jesus like we're rabbis we're

teachers you're a rabbi I'm a Pharisee

I'm a I'm a I'm a teacher of the law

right I'm a the in in and I understand

that we are never going to find someone

quite as holy as we are so we have to

associate with those lowly people a

little

bit but this is like they're too low

Jesus they are way too sinful I think

you are confused because now people are

going to start saying that you're a

drunker people are going to start saying

that you're a glutton people are going

to start start associating you with

these people that are they're not just a

step lower than you they're like really

low on this totem pole of

Holiness and how often do we think in

this same idea that there's a totem pole

that there's a ladder of Holiness when

in reality here's the truth I am either

covered by by the blood of Jesus or I'm

not I am either wretchedly lost and

sinful or I am fully righteous in the

eyes of Christ with full access to the

Divine God the

father and so this is it's this it's

this shift in reality of the way that we

think of things and these Pharisees

Jesus is trying to teach them a new way

of

thinking and when they're like man these

people are really really sinful he gives

them this illustration I got a hundred

sheep one gets away what am I going to

do I am going to look everywhere I can

to find this lost sheep we are the sheep

in this story we are the lost sheep we

are the one that has has has left we

have abandoned our Perfect Design of

beautiful communion with Christ and we

have and we have left that and he is

saying you want to know the thing that I

love the most I value righteousness I

value

faithfulness we that is

important but if you want me to

prioritize righteousness over the Lost

coming into the kingdom of God it's

never going to

happen here's the lesson I want us to

get from this I think this is what Jesus

is saying you can never capture the

heart of God if you don't have a heart

for the

lost you will never know the heart of

God if you don't first capture a heart

for the lost that is how I get to know

him that is how I get to understand the

way that he operates because we are not

higher and lower he is high we are not

and so I get like this is his call is to

us the lost

sheep and so as we look at this series

love into the

light this is a series that highlights a

Common Thread that you see throughout

all of

scripture from the

moment that sin enters the

world until the book of the the the Book

of Revelation the last chapter until Jes

Jesus returns the reality

is is that we were created for more than

just to be to to to be Church attenders

to be this this righteous few to be this

people that uh a lot of times the

mindset that we have to block is this

kind of this picture of us for and no

more right my holy huddle the people

that I have when I get to know the lord

it's incredible and then I meet some

friends and amazing and and we all love

the Lord together and we want to just

stay here in this safe little Sanctuary

that keeps us exactly where we are and

and and then we'll find 15 years later

we're still stuck there and now I have

no heart for the lost now I forget that

I was once in that same exact position

and I'm in in my heart in my connection

to the father is actually

further despite my faithfulness I

lost the heart of God for

me you see this there's it's all over

it's it's literally the Divine Purpose

that we were

given it is you'll see here can we get

the Bible on our purpose there's a lot

of different passages here that we've

got we got literally right at the very

beginning if you want to look at The

Narrative of the story of the the God's

Nation it starts in Genesis

Genesis 12:1

12:1 and one of the first things he says

it says that he called God spoke to

Abraham and it says I will bless

you and you will be a

blessing I'm going to give to you for

you to give away Matthew 22 36- 40 they

say what's the biggest most important

thing Jesus he says love God and love

others you can't have a heart for God if

you don't have a heart for the lost so

you ask me for number one I'm giving you

two things you can't cannot separate

them Matthew 28 go and make disciples of

all Nations they say what do we do now

that that you've raised back from the

dead what do we do this is what you do

the last phrase the last statement that

Jesus makes to his disciples before he

ascends acts 18 be my

witnesses to the very ends of the Earth

we don't have to stop here 2 Corinthians

520 says we are ambassadors we are

Representatives we are the

voice of Christ to those around us

Ephesians 4:11 says equip the

Ephesians 4:11

Saints equip all the

Believers everyone who follows Christ to

do the work of the ministry this is not

when we think about this this is not

something that we go ah my pastor will

do that a these these leaders my group

host will do that my point person will

do that oh the these other people they

we need someone holier than me in order

to be this this Ambassador right like

that's not me I'm not great at that

here's the reality 1 Peter 2:9 says we

1 Peter 2:9

were

created you are a holy nation and it

says Pro to proclaim the Praises of the

one who called you out of the darkness

into Marvelous Light this is a

proclamation this is not a private thing

this is a public thing again and again

and again and again we see that our

chief end is not just to come and get to

know Christ but if we get to know Christ

then we must we are caught up in this

deep and passioned love for the lost to

also Al live in the same light that we

have

found we have walked through the doorway

from Darkness into light and we are

called to lead

people and to walk with them into this

same

place and to open the door up

wide for this

Divine

Purpose every single one of us has given

so this this series we are actually

today marks

42 days away from

Easter that means we're exactly 40 days

away from Good Friday the crucifixion of

Jesus and in scripture whenever you see

the number 40 it's usually this this

withdrawing and this

preparation I'm going to I'm going to

I'm prepar preparing you I'm restoring

you Jesus Takes 40 days to prepare for

Ministry of fasting Moses is out in the

wilderness for 40 years on his own as

God shifts him and changes him before he

calls him to lead Israel out of Egypt

and then Egypt all the is is Israelites

come out of Egypt and they got 40 Years

of preparation because they were not

ready we talked about this last week

they were not ready to step into the

promised land and so we're going to go

40 years of

preparation whenever you see 40 that's

that's this picture of preparation I

want to take 40 days and devote it to

the Lord as a church and to really let

this idea of loving people into the

Light of

Christ and let it hit deep in my

heart so this is never going to work if

it's only a Sunday morning I listen to a

few sermons and I leave and so one of

the things that we're going to be doing

is we got a bu a reading plan that we're

doing it's called who's your one and you

can join in this is a corporate reading

plan this is not just an individual

reading plan can we get that reading

plan pulled up this is we got a QR code

and you can scan this QR code and you

can join in with everybody we all get a

comment together we get to read it

together we got to see what day that

we're on together uh that'll be up in

just a second I know Pro presenter's

working through some stuff back there

but as soon as we can get that up let's

get that up and what this is It's a

reading plan for all of us to walk

through who is your

one not your 99 I know who my let me get

out of the way I know who my 99 are look

around you we got our

99 we are

okay I want to celebrate with the

Lord and we got 40 30 days until

Easter and so we're going to be reading

doing this reading plan together we're

going to be diving into this and really

trying to capture God's heart for the

lost and that he wants to use us in this

journey you see the

responsibility is really really

clear we are all the

evangelizers we are all the mission

workers of the

gospel not just me in fact we say this

uh in in discover if you've ever if

you've been in discover if you haven't

been in discover for a ye for over a

year I want to encourage you just come

to the next

Discover right just just come you don't

even have to sign up right I love you

we're not buying you a coffee we we will

the first time those who are doing

discover and joining the team but here I

want I want to encourage you to because

it captures the heart of who we are

again one of the things we talk about

and discover is that I am a missionary

every single one of us and that if you

want to find the worst person in the

entire world to reach out to your

friends your family your neighbor it

might be

me because my name comes with a title

and that title is pastor and that shuts

a lot

down and even in the areas that it

doesn't shut down down it builds up

walls right I can't I can't tell you how

many times I jump in conversations with

people and they're like oh yeah I got in

there like cussing up a storm and then

they saying there like yeah what do you

do and I'm like

um I want I want to lie right I really

want to lie at this point I just want to

be like I work at just a place and I do

stuff that's I don't I don't I'm

homeless like I don't like I don't I

don't want I don't want to give the

anyway so what I I'm a I'm I'm a pastor

I'm a church planter we started a church

we're three and a half years old we made

out of Miller North and they go oh I

just beseech the Lord with thee every

day and they there just instantly

changes and I I don't get them anymore

now I get this this MK goes on and this

new person comes to the scene and I'm

like you are totally different I never I

who am I talking to right and they're

like oh yeah second Revelation man I was

just reading that and I'm like there is

no second Revelation but that's okay we

can that's fine that is yeah I'm like

you don't have to perform with me right

like it's okay and so the reality is is

that you are the greatest evangelist to

the people around you because they will

see your imperfection they will see your

transformation they will see your

humility they will see the process C of

you becoming more like Christ and

they're going to go man I don't know

what it is about you it's just like it's

like you got this this Radiance about

you it's just like you got this there's

something different that you carry and I

don't know what it is they're going to

see the way you suffer they're going to

see the way you

celebrate and in the way that we live

transforms the people around us that's

the whole design of

scripture and so this is this is the

idea of of loving into the light and

here's our big challenge our big

challenge for this uh for this series is

for every single person to have a

one to have at least one

person that I go

God I'm a mess

but I believe that you are bigger than

my

mess and I'm praying and I'm asking that

you would honor my prayers and you would

honor my action and that you would see

this person come into the light of

Christ through my

life and so this

is this is the the the challenge that I

want to give that we would have

we we would love people

intentionally and that we would pick

this

this this person to ultimately and here

here's what defines this person this

person has to be

someone who is far from

God okay so someone someone who who

doesn't know the Lord who's living in

darkness who maybe they once went to

church they don't go to church and they

uh or maybe they've never stepped foot

in church and like just someone that you

know that is that you're that it's hard

to describe sometimes but you know what

far from God means right like there's

some there's Sometimes some gray area in

there but just like are they a

practicing a lot of times I think of it

as like a practicing Christian someone

who doesn't we got a lot in fact here's

something interesting there was a study

done over Omaha

Nebraska and they found that 7 6% of

people in Omaha Nebraska identify as a

Christian the vast majority of people

that you will run into will identify as

a

Christian

24% or 23% I think it is actually have

any resemblance of practicing their

faith so the whole idea of are you a

Christian actually tells us very very

little the the con and this is unique

it's one of the most unique things out

of all the stats that was pulled about

Omaha Nebraska it's one of the most

unique things about our context

spiritually that everybody identifies as

Christian and very few people are

actually Believers actually practicing

does it have any effect on their life at

all it's a it's a really unique that's

why when I go out and and my kids and

they say yeah I've got this classmate

and they're they they they say they're

Christian but they haven't ever been to

church and they had to they went over

and they they asked their mom and dad

and their mom said yeah I think

so so yeah yeah they're they're like my

my little girl arah she is so sweet and

she asks these questions she's a little

evangelist and she doesn't even know it

she asked these questions she's like do

you like Caleb do you dude can you sing

this song with me that I and they're

like I don't I don't know that song oh

do you love Jesus

Who Do You Love are you a Christian do

you uh I don't know let me ask my

parents they come back yeah I am who's

Jesus she's like yeah yeah okay good

you're crazy and then she comes back and

she celebrates dad someone so's a

Christian I'm so excited they didn't

know who Jesus was but they're a

Christian and I'm like okay this is

that's the picture of our world that's

the picture of the context that we're

we're living in and so this person that

is our one as I'm thinking about who is

my one going to be that I get to be the

ambassador of Christ and I get to go

love them and chase them down and

introduce them to the Light of Christ

they have to be someone who is far from

God number two they got to be someone

who is close to

you they're far from God and close to

you this is th this is just it can be

literally we have a deep tight good

solid relationship or it's just

proximity right I've got a

neighbor that I see all the

time that's it they literally are

physically close to me I got a cooworker

that I talk with and then we end up

finding ourselves chatting a lot at the

water cooler over lunch break or

whatever it may be right like we'll roll

our eyes about this other coworker that

we got you know that coworker like okay

yeah yeah for sure right like well well

that that's it's that person right I'm

just I'm kind of close to them it's not

necessarily I got this deep powerful

amazing relationship where we're

constantly asking each other like

worldview questions and existential

problems right like we're not but the

just the reality that it's someone who

I'm kind of a little a little bit close

to and when I've found that one in fact

if you can't think of anyone in your

life who is

lost let that be a deep

conviction let that

be there is a we're going to talk about

this more in this series but there is a

little Pharisee inside of you that's

getting way too powerful inside your own

heart

someone who is far from God someone who

is close to you and uh then here's your

here here's your idea this is what we're

going to do we're going to ask this is

our commitment our commitment is just

number one what I'm going to do is I'm

going to pray for this person every

day every single

day guys I've tried this

a thousand times and to do so under my

own strength and to uh or even just to

offer kind of like a little hey God

would you help me

amen and like there's something

different when I actually seek the Lord

if you want to seek him if you go I

don't really know what to do I don't

know how to do this pastor Drew is

asking us to love someone either that

sounds like that's that's woo seems kind

of big it's not really my emmo I'm kind

of just figuring this whole Jesus thing

out right now as we speak can I tell you

do you know who the greatest evangelist

of all time

is it's the new

believer it's the person who just found

the light

themselves right it's like when you go

to a

restaurant my wife and I we went to

plank months ago it was like a year or

two ago right and we went and it's

downtown and they've got this bread this

what is it Bananas Foster bread

pudding oh my goodness guys it is my new

favorite dessert it is so good and you

want to know what we do hey how are you

guys doing oh this week you want to know

what we did we went to plank we had this

Bananas Foster bread you have to go and

we've been there again we literally have

gone driven downtown sat down a plank we

said we want the banana sauc or bread

pudding that's all we want and they said

we're out and we said see you later and

we literally we got up and we left the

I'm not joking this stuff is so good and

here's the reality when I when I catch

that and I find that amazing thing I

want you to

know there's no one more that that feels

this more than my bride she does not

give you an option if we're saying we're

going out to eat she says we are going

here and you're going to love

it I had this encounter with this food

with this restaurant there's a server

over there I got to you you are I'm

going to invite you into this experience

I just had it is

incredible the greatest evangelist is

someone who just found something

incredible and goes I don't know what it

is about it I'm not a chef I can't tell

you it's like it's got all this like

Fruity nutty taste and then it's got

this sweet and and this undertone of

like no it's just really flipping good I

don't know it's just really good you

will you will gain 50 pounds on this

thing but it is really good that's this

whole idea about like I want every

single there's not a single one of us

that is excluded from this call on our

leadership team we ask for them to also

have a discipleship one someone that you

are that I've been walking in the

journey I've been walking with the Lord

for a while and if you have been if

you've got some longevity behind you in

your faith you should also have a

discipleship one someone that you are

holding their hand and helping them to

them walk this journey but you every

single person should have a one one they

were going I want to see them come into

the light of Christ I want to see them

have the same hope that I have and it

has to start with prayer Matthew 9:

36-38 Jesus is introducing this idea to

his disciples and he sees everywhere he

goes these crowds start coming and all

these people are just curious about this

Rabbi about this new guy that's coming

in Matthew 9:36 says Jesus saw the

Matthew 9:36

crowds and what did he think he think

I'm getting really

popular no he sees the crowd he sees

their heart and he says he had it says

he had compassion on them because they

were harassed they were helpless they

were like

sheep without a

Shepherd there's like thousands of ones

out

there and I can just I can just picture

Jesus with his eyes welling up up and he

turns to his disciples he says look how

plentiful the Harvest is look how many

people there are out there that need

hope they're just

wandering they've got they're they're

groping in the darkness and they got no

and and they they think they know this

truth and it's all just this hollow

empty nothing and they have no deep

content in their soul and their soul is

still groping at for for truth and for

light and for Hope and he says there har

is so plentiful but the workers are few

there's 13 of

us what is my

response ask the Lord pray pray to the

Lord of the Harvest the Lord who has a

heart for the broken the Lord who has a

heart for the lost the Lord who loves

them more than I ever will be able to

love them ask

him pray to him to send out workers into

the Harvest field

then you want to know what he does

next tells him to pray and then he says

go and he sends him

out says you are the answer to your own

prayers but we'll never see this if we

don't the first step is to just pray I'm

GNA pray for I'm G to get God's heart

for this person I'm going to I'm I'm

going to learn to love them with God's

eyes and maybe it's someone who's hard

to love often times he asks us to do

that and then here's step number two of

our commitment we pray for them every

single day I want to encourage you

guys set an

alarm y'all aren't that Holy that you

can just go okay I'm gonna do that and

then you're going to do it right set an

alarm Matthew 9:38 that we just read I

Matthew 9:38

set an alarm at 9:38 every single day to

pray God send me and send

more every day I want this to be a

prayer and I take a pause I take a break

if I'm on a phone call we sometimes I'll

even be like hey let's take it time out

can we pray into this real quick just 30

seconds 60 seconds we're going to pray

into this and we're going to ask God to

lead us I want you to set an alarm for

you to pray for one person and then

number two is love them I pray for them

daily and number two is I just love them

intentionally

I intentionally just love

them maybe I don't know what that's

going to look like it's get but but the

whole idea is that like I want to see

they they need to see my love for

them I'll bet you it's not a kiss on the

cheek every single day right like don't

don't be don't be that weird coworker

you're going to go to HR real quick it's

not going to be it but love them

intentionally in this is

unconditional keep in mind this one is

not a

project

love love is different than just

kindness for the sake of

manipulation okay missional A missional

relationship is not conditionally kind

it's not I'm going to be nice to you

until you until you say nah I'm not

coming to your church I'll never go to

your church I would never like no

offense but you're nuts for going I

think you're psycho right like that was

offensive thanks but okay right the the

it's say love them intentionally but a

missional relationship is not

conditionally kind it is hopefully

loving I'm going to continue to love

this

person period end of

story I'm going to just keep loving them

if they deny if they kick me in the

teeth verbally like I don't care I'm I'm

going to just I'm just going to keep

loving them unconditionally so that they

may see Christ through

me and then lastly the last

step is just follow God's

promptings as I

pray eventually I'll probably start to

feel some conviction in my heart for

something I'm gonna make him some

brownies right as I pray for the person

I'm going to remember that they said in

three months we're or in one month we're

moving my my mother into an assisted

living facility and it's really hard and

it's really and and and oh my goodness

that was a few months I got to ask them

about this just gonna whatever God's

prompting is whatever I feel just like

this as I'm praying for them and I'm

like man I'm going to talk to them about

this man I'm going to and then at some

point I believe God is going to invite

ask ask you to invite them but you do so

on his timing you let him disciple your

heart through

this and as you invite them what I want

we got this board here can we go ahead

and pull that that case out now and what

we've got here is this is our love into

the lights

board and every single one of us is

going to have a one that we're praying

for and I've got for all of

us a keychain that we got in this bucket

right down

here and we're going to be we're going

to take a

keychain and I'm going to write their

name on

this and I'm GNA go God I believe I'm

gonna pray for them I'm going to love

them

intentionally I'm going to just follow

whatever you say

and I believe that this person will

move from Darkness into light but right

now I got my neighbor's name on

here right

now I'm just praying for

them and at some point when they

come and they get to know the love and

the Light of

Christ I'm going to get to move them

over

here and we're going to get to see a

visual representation of collective

Church loving people into the

light and it's just praying for them

every day it's loving them

intentionally and is following whatever

God

says so I want if we can stand up we can

get the band to come up here well I want

to

do is I

wanna I want to tell about a couple

people so I got I got this I I got a

neighbor that man I just I don't know I

don't know why I just God's highlighted

this person to

me and they're a Muslim so it's going to

be a long journey it's going to be a

long hard one but man I just can't help

but think about them they're one of the

first people that come to mind for me

young man named David that I met at

Panera he helped us if you've seen our

shirt that says the perfect church for

people who aren't and I asked him hey

what do you think about this design and

and he helped us to design it he helped

us to and and it just kind of started

this relationship of of this church and

and and now I have to be really

intentional because he doesn't work

front anymore he now works in the back

and and have to be really intentional

and be like hey David how you

doing but there's some people people

that I'm believe in it's similar to a

year and a half

ago Morgan got in a car accident and

many of you have heard this testimony

and I got a phone call from

Morgan but on the other line was a lady

I had never met never heard her voice

before over that moment

Sierra and she just was right person

right time came helped out and it was

weird because Morgan and I were on the

same page as Morgan is like she got

T-boned she is like shooking up she is

like we're we're all all the thoughts

all the things are going through our

mind and Sierra's right there and Morgan

can't help but invite her to church as

she's like I think I'm alive you should

come to church with

us I don't know why but here's the thing

I felt the exact same

way I'm comforting my wife who I who I'm

like I'm so glad you are alive right now

and you're not being taken in a

ambulance right like I'm so glad but man

I can't stop and and in that moment I go

I'm gonna find this woman every single

time I come to school pickup because

she's got some kids at our school as our

kid school as well I'm going to try and

find her I'm just going to try and love

her

and I don't know how how many times it

took it was

probably a dozen at least invitations

for me

personally just bugging her and she's

like oh yeah yeah yeah yeah we I I I did

this like worship thing with my kids and

I'm a good you need a community though

right like we need this light to come in

and I will tell you

what I never knew I didn't know her

story and I never knew the potential of

transformation and that she is a a

servant leader here she's come here

Faithfully for now a year uh over a year

and she has been serving she's serving

back in the back come on pop out pop out

of the curtains real quick and we got

Sierra right back

here you were my

one you were the person that I was just

like I don't know I just can't shake it

there's some something on this when I

think about someone who needs Jesus I

don't know her

story I had no clue how badly she needed

Jesus but I go man God I'm G to I'm I'm

going to take every opportunity I can

just to love on her until eventually we

are able to see Sierra moved over into

the light and she came to church

and she gave her life to the Lord and

that so that's our goal as we as we when

we move those overs when someone comes

to church finally maybe it's someone

that you're like I've invited them a

couple times getting them to here once a

year isn't hard I want to see them in

the light and maybe you know your own

testimony of what you're praying for for

this

person maybe they need to but but it's

what we're going to do Morgan's got an

little bit you want to use this mic I uh

I first want to say that if you don't

know where to start start with the

people on your street um our neighbor we

have neighbors across from us that don't

love us because we have so cars at our

house all the time we even had somebody

somebody came to church a few weeks ago

said they used to live in our

neighborhood and they were like we

always were like how can that many

people be at that house all the time so

our neighbors sometimes we live in a

circle and they get upset because

there's cars all week long so what do we

do we just go over there we start

talking to them in their driveway and

then soon we were like can we just sit

in your driveway and talk to you and and

now when they go get the mail we go out

and get the mail with them so that we

can have conversation so it's important

to know your neighbors that's your

mission field um but we so I've had a

hairdresser for 20 years now which is

crazy she's like similar to my age she

has kids the same age as mine and every

so often I invite her never really

anything and I go we we have like two

hours together every month and um we

always talk about about all the things

Church everything her life and and

Friday I knew that we were going to be

doing this message and I want you to

know that what we preach up here we put

into practice first we want to lead the

way and so I said God I'm just driving

in my car to my hair appointment and I'm

like God who do you want to be one of my

ones and immediately he said my

hairdresser Brandy and I just started

weeping for her and just like God would

you give me an opportunity today when

I'm sitting in her chair that she would

be open to coming this Easter and so I

went in she did my hair and we were just

talking and as I was about to leave I

just said hey I don't have an invite

today but Easter she was like when is

Easter and in my head I'm like that's

the biggest Sunday of our year it's

April 20th and she she uh I said I want

I don't have invites today but I just

want to invite you to Easter Service

we're actually going to have two

Services 9 and 11:00 a.m. and I'd love

for you to come and she got out her

phone she was so excited she was like

when is it okay I'm putting it in my

calendar she put it in her calendar her

whole family's coming and I just left

with tears because it showed me once

again that when you pray a prayer God

who should be my one there will always

be someone because his heart is for the

lost his heart is to see your friends

and your family come to Salvation And so

I just left and I said thank you God

would you let it be in jesus' name

so come

on you may not have someone quite that

excited but I'm going to I I what I want

to do is I want to invite you up we got

the keychains right up here we got

markers up here for you to be able to

write on go ahead and come on up grab a

keychain and write the marker and as you

as as you get the name written down I

want you to just come on up here and

slide it over one of

these one of

these hooks right

here so that we can get some of the and

if you got a couple you can have a

couple it's probably going to be hard to

do it with 12 I only know one person

in the history of the world that

successfully LED 12 people in

discipleship at the same time and I

ain't near as perfect as

him and so go ahead and then come on yep

come on up and set it right here Mark

can you help her out just sliding that

over there yep you can put it wherever

you want and kind of sticks you got to

push it on there a little

bit and write this name down and then

put an alarm on your phone go we got a

bunch of markers you can grab one and

pull it off to the side and then come up

around

here but we're going to and and I just

want you to be praying over this person

as we as we go here I want you to begin

praying over this name and I want you to

stay up at the altar don't leave don't

leave yet don't leave yet stay up at the

altar stay up here just make room so

that people that are close here and and

we're going to do this thing together

we're going to be in this thing together

and I want you to find a couple people

up at the altar here and talk with them

share the name it's just first name

maybe if you want to do initials you can

do

that but share the name of that person

who they are to you and and and pray for

each other and can we get some

assistance right here we got a mama with

a beautiful little baby we need to get a

little bit of assistance help her out
