  1. Because when you're going through it and if you're not going through it now, you either went through it or you're going to go through it

  2. But your faith will be challenged. It will be tested and you can't move away from who you are in Jesus

  3. Although Satan is constantly trying to

  4. Pervert your identity in Christ and may make you solemn and make you sad and

  5. Forget who you are in Jesus and a shame

  6. Speaking to yourself speaking the Word of God, which is the truth

  7. Welcome to the City Light Church podcast. Thanks for joining us today as we look into God's Word and discover the hope and

  12. Well, my name is Bo Jansik. I want to welcome you to City Light Church. Those of you joining us online

  13. Hallelujah. Oh, man

  14. All right, I can do this

  15. Pastor Mo, you got your praying for me. Interesting. I got to do a couple of announcements and then this is just the way we're doing it

  16. for now

  17. Next week past your moe is gonna give excellent announcements

  18. But we have Christmas

  19. We have Christmas decorating coming up and so

  20. You should be a part of that

  21. December the second

  22. Maybe even to December the third

  23. Maybe

  24. And they'll be I'm supposed to also say they'll be hot chocolate there

  25. Because I understand the vast majority of you can't get your own hot chocolate and you may be wondering where can I get hot chocolate?

  26. The best kind of hot chocolate free hot chocolate and then you'll remember City Light

  27. But it really is it's a party, you know, I joked earlier. I said everything God touches will live everything Pastor Moe touches will party

  28. Pastor Moe's leading this and it'll be a party and you can get your Christmas on

  29. Turn this place

  30. into a winter wonderland

  31. Oh, and then the second announcement is prayer

  32. There's been an reinvigoration of prayer and I'm not kidding

  33. On Wednesday by Wednesday. It's actually started earlier days earlier. I started to feel just completely different

  34. Like like somebody had taken out a

  35. Four worn out triple A batteries. You know the triple not even double a triple A the real skinny ones where you want

  36. You wonder is it even a battery or not? What does this go? Yeah my garage remote or something like that took out four worn out triple A batteries and

  37. Cleaned out the inside and put four supercharged D batteries in no really there was a there was just I

  38. I felt I started to feel the anointing at all odd times

  39. You know it's nice when you feel the anointing and prayer and but now this is just at odd times

  40. You know retrieving something from the closet. Oh surprised by God

  41. Hoping my car door. Oh

  42. In fact just talking about it. I'm feeling it just you know sometimes when you recount what the Lord's done you

  43. And I have no doubt that it's because of this resurgence of prayer that's happening in our church

  44. So people are praying for our church for the future of this church for me from my family

  45. It's very important, you know

  46. That's why the Apostle Paul in every letter. He said please pray for me

  47. I haven't done that enough and we're crossing a threshold right now

  48. We're busting to another barrier Satan doesn't like that

  49. It doesn't like he likes you nice and just put down don't move don't make waves

  50. Well, we're making waves the Lord is causing the waves and we're gonna bust and that has to be undergirded by prayer

  51. So every Sunday at 8.45 a.m. Oh

  52. Yes 8.45

  53. I

  54. Know that's funny for you uni 8.45

  55. Because there's there's I don't know what is in the Korean DNA

  56. But you guys it's not even prayer until you're at 5 a.m. There's a bicycle

  57. I ride and there's a big Korean church right where I live and I'm riding it early at 6 in the morning and the whole parking lot is full

  58. And I'm going man

  59. Jealous with a holy jealousy

  60. So 8.45 a.m. right here to be praying with other people it'll bless you if you've never prayed in a group

  61. It'll bless and and and we really I've prayed in a group

  62. And I mean meeting everyone to pray in a group when I first got saved because there's always someone who just ends up praying for half an hour

  63. And you don't even know what they're saying anymore and you just politely

  64. Oh Lord I'm on

  65. We don't do that we don't

  66. We actually have limits on people

  67. I mean the Holy Spirit will put limits on people but in case you can't hear the Holy Spirit telling you let someone else pray

  68. We will then step in and amplify his voice in your life

  69. But be a part of prayer

  70. And also if you can't make it out on Sundays there's zoom prayers if you're interested in that just

  71. Feel out that connection card of the best way to get your questions answered is info at citylight nyc.com

  72. And if you're new or if you want to get more involved the best way to stay in contact with us is that connection card that was on your seat

  73. So fill it out if you want to get baptized if you want to volunteer fill it out and hand it over to one of the ushers or at the hospitality table

  74. They'll have a gift for you when you do

  75. But be sure to fill out that connection card and then let's receive our ties and offerings. How many of you want to worship the Lord with your giving

  76. Give with a glad heart

  77. There's four ways to give online text. There's offering boxes located throughout the sanctuary

  78. There'll be a QR code that appears

  79. But before the QR code appears. Let's just see where we're at on the end of the year giving

  80. Because this is our end of the year campaign. Hey last week. It was 32. I believe significant jump in one week

  81. Amen put your hands together for that

  82. So let me explain to you what this is

  83. This is to make up for our budget that we're behind in 2024

  84. This means that we're $150,000 behind

  85. Our expenses and so we we want to make that up

  86. We have reserves that we'd like to use to purchase a building and not ever never never have we had to nor would we ever want to use it

  87. For day-to-day expenses. Amen. I hopefully you have a savings and an investment account and those are that's the untouchable account. We have that

  88. So if you don't give to this, that's why I'm not standing here going, you know

  89. Please give otherwise

  90. There's a squeegee job I got to get and I'll be the guy that'll meet you at the red light on Steinway and Broadway

  91. And I'm going to squeegee your windshield and maybe you give me a dollar or two and I can make it

  92. No, we're going to be fine and the Lord is always taking care of us, but this is an opportunity

  93. So just ask the Lord

  94. What he'd have you give there's a novel idea

  95. Lord

  96. My life is your life. My money is your money. What should I give?

  97. right

  98. And then listen and there'll be amounts stirring in your spirit

  99. Know the lower amount is the devil the higher amount is God

  100. and

  101. And learn to hear what the Lord is you don't have to ask Lord what he would have you tithe

  102. Because that amount is already in the word. It's like Lord. What should I 10th? Well 10th

  103. 10th

  104. But in addition to that, I'll speak to you

  105. hallelujah

  106. But that's only for those who actually want to increase financially some people love poverty

  107. Some people love to stay broke and and there's a there's a formula for that too

  108. I actually preached a sermon maybe I'll have to reprieche a 10 steps to poverty

  109. It's a phenomenal sermon you want to take copious notes on that

  110. Really I have

  111. hallelujah

  112. Are you ready to begin Hebrews chapter three

  113. We're in the book of Hebrews

  114. We're going line upon line precept upon precept we want to increase biblical literacy

  115. Christians should be full of the word mighty in the scriptures

  116. mighty

  117. That's that's a term who to who was that used to describe in the Bible was it Stephen

  118. In the book of Acts that he was mighty in the scriptures every Christian should be full of the word

  119. Biblically literate

  120. Know how to explain the gospel explain salvation the Bible says and you should always be set to give an answer to those who are on the outside

  121. And Paul said I'm set for the defense of the gospel so that you can articulate

  122. Why you believe what you believe and why you believe it

  123. That's very important for our kids by the way. They're not going to learn that in city kids

  124. Gonna get some good stuff in children's church

  125. But it's up to us to raise our kids to defend their faith because outside people are at war trying to rob them of their faith

  126. And so we're in chapter three

  127. In chapter one the writer of Hebrews was focusing on the ultimate supremacy of Jesus

  128. In chapter two he was talking about the humanity of Jesus also

  129. Jesus is fully God and fully man and because he's fully man

  130. God himself can understand you and relate to you in a very very special way

  131. And then we find yourselves in chapter three and just note

  132. Always you have to understand the context that he's writing in

  133. The context is this he's writing to the most despondent

  134. dejected

  135. depressed

  136. Down and out group of Christians who are on the verge of quitting in the entire Bible

  137. This was not a happy group. This is a group that

  138. They weren't at that moment living their best life now

  139. They were ostracized financially

  140. weren't allowed to trade weren't allowed to barter

  141. By yourself they were ostracized socially and things were tough

  142. And so he encourages them let's see how he encourages them

  143. He starts writing to them in verse one

  144. Therefore

  145. Holy brethren now right away

  146. I want you to see that he's talking to them

  147. And he's reminding them of their identity in Christ

  148. This is vital

  149. Because when you're going through it and if you're not going through it now you either went through it or you're going to go through it

  150. But your faith will be challenged

  151. It will be tested

  152. And you can't move away from who you are in Jesus although Satan is constantly trying to

  153. Pervert your identity in Christ and may make you solemn and make you sad and forget who you are in Jesus and a shame

  154. Downcast

  155. I'm not good enough. It's not clicking for me. Life's a drag

  156. And you got to start talking to yourself

  157. Speaking to yourself speaking the word of God which is the truth

  158. Facts are facts, but the truth is the truth

  159. Amen

  160. He calls them holy breath. They probably weren't behaving so holy

  161. But he calls them holy brethren

  162. That's why sometimes I'll open up the service with a big smile

  163. After a whole rough week of counseling the stuff I've heard

  164. I need a pastor to go to to now open up to after all I heard

  165. Help me. Well, what's wrong? I've heard all these things

  166. They seem so normal when I'm preaching to them you don't know what they're up to in the week

  167. But I open up the service and I say hello saints of God

  168. Hello for given ones

  169. Blessed ones holy ones

  170. Because that's what the word of God says about you. You have been cleansed

  171. You have been purified your new creation in Christ Jesus. You believe it

  172. If you believe in Jesus all of your sins have been taken out

  173. They've been nailed to the cross of Christ. The wrath of God has already punished your sins in the body of Jesus

  174. That's something to be glad about hallelujah

  175. So now you're not an ain't you're a saint you're holy and without blame before him in love

  176. You're not trying to get approved. You already are approved

  177. You're not trying to get accepted no matter how you feel no matter what you're going through

  178. You already are approved and accepted so act that way and talk that way amen

  179. This is him sweetly just going uh-huh. May I remind you who you really are

  180. This is how the Apostle Paul corrected

  181. The most carnal church in the New Testament

  182. The most carnal church in the New Testament was the Corinthian church and Corinth was like the New York City of the day

  183. It's an urban church. You know what that means right? Church full of wacky dues

  184. I'd have it no other way

  185. And they were up to all sorts of nonsense

  186. And they they didn't have sexual propriety they they they were pagan and not like New York City

  187. They had the flags outside the taverns also

  188. Okay, and

  189. And

  190. And this is how he rebukes them

  191. He doesn't say

  192. unesty

  193. Westy ugly

  194. sinful

  195. Corinthians

  196. How could you do this you got saved and now look how you're behaving?

  197. He says what what no he not that your body is the temple of the living God what's he doing

  198. He's not coming down on and personally he's reminding them who they are

  199. positionally in Christ

  200. He's reminding them even though that fall and so low he's reminding them who they really are

  201. According to the word because when you see who you really are look dirt people who think they're dirty do dirty things

  202. People who know they've been clean and then feel that's holy they do holy things

  203. Hallelujah whatever your reality is that's how you're going to behave

  204. So see yourself as the word sees you and the word calls you holy

  205. Therefore holy brethren partakers of the heavenly calling is the writer saying we're part of the same calling

  206. We're in this together consider

  207. Take a look a good long-hard look at analyze the apostle and high priest of our confession

  208. Christ Jesus verse two

  209. Who was faithful to him everyone shout faithful to him

  210. He was faithful to the father who was faithful to him who appointed him as Moses also was faithful in all his house

  211. Their Hebrews their Jewish Christians who were very persecuted

  212. So that's why he's using a lot of Old Testament scripture and why he's talking about Moses the Jews revered Moses

  213. verse three

  214. For this one

  215. Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses and as much as he who built the house has more honor than the house

  216. Amen

  217. Simply saying that hey Moses was very faithful Moses had a lot of glory. I mean his face was shining

  218. They commented on it, but Jesus has way more glory than that you look at the ministry of Jesus it smokes Moses

  219. And then he just says hey, that's because the one who made Moses has more glory than Moses who was made

  220. For every house is built by someone, but he who built all things is God

  221. And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant

  222. He's doing a little compare and contrast here. He's saying look Moses

  223. Moses was really faithful

  224. He carried out God's plan for his life for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterwards

  225. But Christ as a son over his own house that's you

  226. You're the house of God the one that the scripture says he's building up right now

  227. He's building up his house

  228. corporately that's the whole body of Christ and he's building out

  229. You the house of God individually

  230. Every stone in the house of God is precious and God Himself is

  231. Refining it fitting it and putting it into his house with Jesus Christ as a chief cornerstone somebody say that's me

  232. That's you that's your life you got a master builder

  233. working on you

  234. whose house we are

  235. if now this is important

  236. if we hold fast

  237. The confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end that's a conditional word if

  238. Now this is important

  239. Because a constant question and if you haven't asked this you should ask this because salvation is precious, right

  240. Salvation is the most precious thing. I'm saying from hell

  241. Hell is a real place

  242. heaven is a real place

  243. I'm saved not just from hell. I'm saved from hell on earth

  244. The worst hell any Christian will know is earth the best heaven any unbeliever will know is earth

  245. He saved me

  246. So that's precious so important questions. Hey, can I lose my salvation?

  247. It's a fair question. You're gonna get a lot of different answers

  248. I'll tell you what I believe and I'll give you scriptural precedent foreign one

  249. Your your salvation is by faith and faith alone you receive it by faith. You don't work for it. Amen

  250. That means that you cannot lose it by your works

  251. And this is important because Christians once they get saved they feel that the moment they sin again

  252. They've lost their salvation and they have to get born again again

  253. And again and again and they can enter in this terrible religious sin repentant cycle

  254. Where they're in agony and they constantly grieving over breaking God's heart

  255. And and they have to come back to him over and over and over and

  256. That actually doesn't work out holiness

  257. It works out people who hate themselves are walking civil war and eventually give up on themselves and leave the church

  258. In fact, the statistic is for every one of you in here today. There's 50 protocols

  259. I seek out those protocols. I spend years of my life talking to those protocols

  260. And when I dig in and find that what's the root there? What made you leave?

  261. It's actually every time shame and guilt and condemnation over. I just Christianity is too hard

  262. My answer's no, it's not. It's actually impossible

  263. It's impossible if you try to do it in your own strength

  264. You got to die you got a yield

  265. It's only hard for somebody who's still a little bit alive

  266. Limpin going trying to do their own thing. No, you got to die. Let his life come up through you

  267. So you cannot lose your salvation by works

  268. Just like you can't gain your salvation by works

  269. But when you persist in sin when you persist in living in a way

  270. That's not aligned with God's word. It will harden your heart

  271. And now you're coming into a danger

  272. It'll it'll it'll it'll not just harden your heart, but you'll notice that that that faith

  273. That's always active in you now. It's just a shadow of what it once was

  274. And in order to be saved you need faith. Yeah

  275. You got saved by faith salvation comes to you by faith

  276. How many of you you know that you're saved raise your hand you know you know

  277. Anybody else. I want to see you at this altar right after service

  278. But I'm satisfied with over 80% of the hands going up

  279. But the others you don't have to hope so

  280. When I did street of angelim I did it hours a day for years

  281. And I'd interview people and I'd ask them the first question ask them is if you were to die today

  282. You know for certain that you'd go to heaven

  283. The most common response back is I hope so

  284. I hope so

  285. That's hope so salvation that's not biblical

  286. biblical salvation is no so salvation you can know that you have it

  287. It's not going to surprise me if you tell me I have a microphone in my hand

  288. I know I have it

  289. I got it

  290. I possess it. It's in my possession. It's the same way with salvation. I know it

  291. That's why in John first Johnny says these things I write to you that you may know that you have eternal life

  292. I know that I have it

  293. Because he said I have it when I confess my faith in him

  294. I had to believe first there were no feelings I believe and then after I believe there was some feelings. I don't go by those feelings

  295. Some people never get feelings some people get lots of feelings and we'll get a little bit of feelings feelings

  296. But I know I have it

  297. Hallelujah

  298. And so it's important because this group was so

  299. persecuted and so

  300. rejected

  301. And discouraged they were just discouraged

  302. But beyond like how we get discouraged they were discouraged to the point where they were about to forsake their faith

  303. And that's really why the book of Hebrews is written as a warning you have to have a living an active faith

  304. That

  305. That every day said I know I have salvation

  306. I'm looking to him

  307. And they were in the verge of committing the unpardonable sin which is forsaking Jesus

  308. Not talking about missing church for a couple of weeks or going through a rough time

  309. We're going to forsake him

  310. After having known him and the Bible says there's no coming back after that

  311. That's why the conditional if if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end

  312. How many of you would say Lord keep me all of my days? Let me never wriggle out of your hand

  313. Hallelujah

  314. Amen next verse

  315. Oh, let's go back to verse six actually

  316. Maybe one more verse

  317. Because I haven't completed this this part

  318. Where Jesus comparing Moses and Moses is faithfulness for five verses here. He's basically hammering this point home

  319. God is faithful

  320. He is faithful if Moses was faithful and which he was how much more will Jesus be faithful?

  321. This is his message to a group of despondent and discouraged Christians

  322. It's that God is going to see you through the only thing that can mess that up is if you let go and quit on him

  323. Church some of you there's so many new people you don't know my stories

  324. You got to know there's been times I confessed to people as a pastor as a minister

  325. I felt like my insides were turned inside out. I felt like my spleen was coming out of my nostrils

  326. I had no strength in my body and seemingly no strength in my soul. I will go to pray will be like I'm crawling

  327. And then I will go to pray and it would sound like somebody shot a wilderness somewhere

  328. There was nothing no pretty words no Elizabethan no King James just god

  329. You

  330. Me

  331. Help that was it

  332. It's all I can muster up

  333. But he's faithful

  334. And he'll be fit whatever you're going through he'll be faithful

  335. Just don't quit just don't let go

  336. For me to just walk here. It's a miracle

  337. It's a miracle to walk this altar and minister to you. I'm elated

  338. Some people just see a bunch of people and a preacher. I see the miracle of God

  339. This whole place shouldn't exist

  340. Hallelujah

  341. I just think back to what I call the great COVID consolidation

  342. You know we used to have four physical locations

  343. Sixth weekend services

  344. Over 700 and weekend attendance and then came the great COVID consolidation where we had

  345. There were several batches of people that left the first batch was all families and uh I mean

  346. You have to know if you're a New York City and your family New York City

  347. You're always on the fence especially if you're like under 35

  348. You're always on the fence about leaving New York City every single day of the week, right

  349. You're always like I love New York, but then you're like, but there's maybe some place a little more space

  350. And I would like a place to put my vacuum cleaner instead of the corner of my living room

  351. What when COVID came all those people which was a lot got pushed out and I just every day was text and emails up

  352. I'm moving on North Carolina on the South Carolina on the Florida and Texas

  353. I've sewed great seed into those four states

  354. Then I'm like, okay glad that's over with and that was like the first two months of COVID

  355. Then we were the first church to reopen up

  356. Or amongst the first ones of several other first time the first time they let us because we rent this place

  357. Which is one of the reasons why I want to get our own place to not be at the behest of any anybody over us

  358. Then

  359. People noticed that I wasn't as crazy for COVID as it should be

  360. Like I guess they wanted me to show up in a hazmat suit and hug them from a distance

  361. Maybe we could a hug through their plastic barrier

  362. Remember the past people forget so easily people were hugging through plastic sheets

  363. Didn't feel like taking an experimental job. I let people know people horrified clutching their pearls

  364. So then I saw another batch leave

  365. I don't they gave different they gave lots of reasons

  366. But ultimately the reason was you should have been more crazy about COVID. I'm crazy about COVID

  367. You're not as crazy as me up your craziness pastor

  368. So it's another batch leave

  369. But God is faithful

  370. Didn't past your mouth we never felt like we really lacked anything ever

  371. People left God brought new ones we saw new baptisms new salvation new baptism in the Holy Spirit new life group leaders raised up

  372. Because he's faithful

  373. Hey, you know what else happened in 2020 speaking of God's faithfulness

  374. We had been saving as a church since our first day in the beginning was like if we saved ten bucks

  375. That was great and and after after so from 2002 to 2020 after 18 years of saving

  376. We had as a church in New York City about eight hundred thousand dollars

  377. Wow

  378. That's not impressive 18 years

  379. I mean, but we had no debt and we were giving all the time

  380. We were always given a mission there. I mean if we were

  381. You know if we were stingy we maybe would have saved more, but you know what the Bible says the Lord would have just

  382. Blown it all away

  383. If you hold if you keep on to more than you should you see said in the back of cook I'll blow it all the way

  384. You're putting it in a bag with holes in it

  385. The Papa's got to bring you bag

  386. All right

  387. It's a bag with no holes it's an unholy bag

  388. So in 2020

  389. In 2020

  390. I because of my personal experience I began to solicit our board

  391. It took nearly six months to put the church reserves

  392. Into the best asset on planet earth who knows what the best asset on planet earth is Chris

  393. You know what the best gas that I'm what's Bitcoin is the best asset on plan why is Bitcoin the best asset on planet earth

  394. Because they'll ever only be 21 million of them

  395. You know how many dollars they're gonna be they're printing them as we speak

  396. In fact your dollar has lost 40% of its purchasing power since 2020 did you know that you know it when you go to get eggs

  397. Look at everything look at your bill

  398. You know what look you know what awake it look at your old Amazon purchases like your order history

  399. And check like what you ordered in 2020 the bounty everything's up. It's 40%

  400. This is how to suck the air out of a room when reality hits people

  401. And I'm like God we've been faithful and here after 18 years 800,000 and so

  402. Can I just boast on the faithfulness of God and by the way?

  403. I said all this in fact I talked about this all the time. I think this ran some people off too

  404. Does everybody nobody knows about but I've spent over a thousand hours studying this thing

  405. And then you got something on pastor put the church's money in a get rich quick scheme. I'm out of here

  406. What you don't even know what you're talking about

  407. I didn't put it in crypto

  408. I put it in Bitcoin and there's a difference

  409. So after six months of we put 800,000 into Bitcoin Bitcoin was under 10,000

  410. Red hitting the 10,000 mark

  411. How much is Bitcoin today

  412. Round to the top

  413. He's at 96

  414. Knocking on the door of a hundred thousand

  415. I'm just I'm just giving examples of the faithfulness of God. So here we are in Queens

  416. And we have over eight million

  417. You can give God hallelujah for that. That's what so the Lord has tenet

  418. This is not a small thing

  419. I'm sorry. We're not a large international ministry that can just buy a building buildings cost 30 to 40 million the kind of building we need

  420. All right, so now we're at least at the quarter of the way there hallelujah

  421. And God thought it's wonderful that he didn't have to have me every year going all right

  422. We've got to raise more money

  423. Won't be won't it be nice when we announce hey we bought the building the only

  424. Capital campaign we're going to do is for the interior

  425. Maybe we can just get the chairs and a nice multimedia setup

  426. But we got a building that'll stay here proclaiming the name of Jesus till that trumpet sounds

  427. hallelujah

  428. He's faithful

  429. hallelujah he'll be faithful to you. He has been faithful to you. That's why you're here today

  430. Just your butt in that seat is evidence of the faithfulness of God

  431. hallelujah

  432. Oh, glory to God. Let's get back to verse seven

  433. Oh, I think about his goodness and what he's done for me makes me want to

  434. Jesus

  435. hallelujah

  436. You have to have some great I think it's over now moments in your life

  437. I've had a good number of those. Oh, man

  438. I done did it this time. It's over and then the Lord comes in and flexes and swings in and rescues

  439. By the way, if you can't rejoice for someone else

  440. Especially your own church like really from your loins

  441. How is God ever going to bless you? I'm not looking at anyone in particular

  442. I'm just saying I just announced that God tennext a thousand percent in four years

  443. And it was met with some budget and I'm not looking for decibel over them. I'm just saying do a heart check

  444. And make sure because you know what I noticed the people that I see rejoice the most for others victories

  445. They're the ones who I see also receive the most

  446. And because something's got to be really broken in you when you have such a scarcity mindset

  447. Where you think that it because God bless someone else now he doesn't have enough for you

  448. I'm sorry. Maybe your parents were that way with the Oreo cookies

  449. Maybe your brother ran and grabbed them all and only one was left for you and he got aided

  450. But God doesn't run out of cookies, okay? God has plenty of cookies

  451. God has planted it you never ever have oh

  452. That's the that's the cheapest envy hater spirit. That's what it is

  453. That's in the final chapter revelation in the Greek hater spirit

  454. Why are haters haters because they feel like that you took what belongs to them. No, God will make more

  455. So rejoice for others that opens you up to receive from him

  456. Therefore as the Holy Spirit says today if you will hear his voice

  457. Also someone might be thinking why do I give because they have eight million you don't have to I never give don't ever give because someone needs to receive

  458. Mm-hmm

  459. You give giving is for you

  460. That's what's got to click

  461. Giving is for you. It's to your benefit

  462. Because the Bible says he'll multiply it back to you

  463. Hallelujah

  464. If you only want to give to really desperate down in our places

  465. You're never going to hear that message here

  466. Maybe that's why you like it here

  467. Oh

  468. Is it all right if I preach and have fun is that okay

  469. Therefore as the Holy Spirit says today

  470. Today by the way, that's a god day

  471. Today

  472. Satan loves tomorrow

  473. In the sense that he's always telling you to do it tomorrow

  474. Maniana

  475. He's always either trying to remind you of the guilt of yesterday and telling you to put off doing what you should do today tomorrow

  476. But it's always today today if you will hear his voice

  477. Do not harden your hearts now remember the whole context of Hebrews is this group of Christians

  478. On the verge of backsliding forever

  479. And giving up on Jesus forsaking the faith

  480. So he's essentially reminding them of two things. That's the whole theme of Hebrews chapter three. He's faithful

  481. He who began a good work is faithful to complete it in you

  482. He's faithful and two

  483. careful with a hard heart

  484. Careful about having a hard heart

  485. The reason people

  486. Are tempted and sometimes forsake the faith is they get bitter

  487. bitter with a person and that person is god

  488. That bitterness comes up

  489. God

  490. At some point in your life. I've had this many times Satan has tempted me with his bitterness

  491. Thankfully the wisdom of the Lord came up with that

  492. I know if I can just resist these lies. This is a total fabrication

  493. If you're married, thank god, hopefully

  494. You're weak they're strong and when they're weak, you're strong

  495. There are times where you know the enemy's lying non-stop. Thank God for godly wife who can say none of that is true

  496. None of that what you just said that's a lie that I'm okay

  497. Because that's what's going through my head

  498. Incessantly that's how you know the enemies trying to get to you

  499. Your life it didn't work out how you had hoped

  500. You didn't get what you wanted

  501. And then you're bitter

  502. And you try to be bitter with a person

  503. But eventually if you allow yourself to be bitter with people that bitterness will morph at bitterness against god

  504. Causing a hard heart

  505. And then what will replace faith is an evil heart of unbelief

  506. And that's how people that's how that's how you know somebody who was in the second road dancing twirling

  507. Lift in their hands shouting Jesus and then over years of neglecting

  508. The anointing neglecting the word neglecting the Lord you gotta let him love on you his tenderness melts away all our bitterness

  509. You don't want to play with a hard heart

  510. You don't want to play with that

  511. Calus cynical heart

  512. Jesus didn't tolerate cynicism

  513. He allowed for skepticism

  514. He convinced the skeptics but the Pharisees were cynics he didn't have time for them

  515. The Sadducees were cynics that's why they were sad you see

  516. To them he didn't have time

  517. Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion

  518. In the day of trial in the wilderness. So he's telling these Hebrews remember Moses

  519. Remember the children of Israel

  520. They were coming into the promised land

  521. They saw mighty signs and wonders done the red sea party man are coming from heaven

  522. Other signs and wonders god

  523. protecting them and preserving them

  524. But still they ended up in unbelief they ended up with bitterness

  525. Because it was taking too long it should have been in 11 days journey it ended up being 40 years

  526. And it's funny they were upset at God that it was taking so long and he's going it doesn't have to take this long if you just stop being upset you'd make it in in 11 days

  527. And you have no idea how prophetic that is one of the saddest things to see a person upset that it's not happening fast enough

  528. And then they're like that in this terrible cycle for years

  529. Not realizing that if they would just get their praise on

  530. And stop being upset that it's not happening fast enough it'll actually happen

  531. But they're always miserable that it's not happening and then 10 years later it's still not happening

  532. Stop it

  533. Some of you are addicted I say this would love him a heart you're addicted to your own personal pity party

  534. You're addicted

  535. To complaining I break that in Jesus name

  536. See you as see you as he sees you

  537. Begin to speak opposite of what you're hearing

  538. You can wake up again your liver coming out of your nostrils

  539. Feeling like the end is near and you wake up and then speak God's word God's truth lord

  540. Let's start at the basics lord. Thank you. I'm saved. I'm forgiven. I'm full of the Holy Spirit your hand is on me

  541. Your favor is upon me

  542. Today good things happen to me you open doors that no man can shut lord

  543. You're promoting me you're moving me into the center of your perfect well

  544. I believe lord even though my emotions are saying the opposite my head is saying the opposite people around me are saying the opposite

  545. I believe you're a good God, but not just in a generic sense. You are good to me

  546. Hallelujah

  547. Do not heart a hard heart is the death bell

  548. I when I got saved at 16

  549. I was so on fire and told the gospel to anyone who'd listen and consequently ended up leading a bunch of my high school friends to the Lord

  550. and then same thing in college and I led a friend

  551. To the Lord and it ended up that we were at the same college

  552. Stony Brook University out in Long Island and it turned out that we were in the same building

  553. And so I was still discipling her and then we were ended up going to the same Christian college

  554. campus group it's called basic brothers and sisters in Christ still going on

  555. And uh saying church she was on fire for the Lord

  556. One thing I knew about her was that just a couple of years before she got saved her parents went through a divorce

  557. And she loved her mom and she loved her dad, but the dad left she loved her dad

  558. And her dad's departure really just it obviously paint her and it's card her

  559. So I saw her on fire for the Lord, but you know whenever you're

  560. traveling with Jesus on this journey

  561. Eventually

  562. He's going to require his lordship in your life

  563. In the beginning you have some wiggle room you kind of figuring it all out

  564. But then you're going to quickly realize

  565. He's actually your lord and savior and not just your savior

  566. And if he's not lord of all

  567. He's not lord at all

  568. You got to give him your life

  569. So as that became more apparent to her

  570. She was opening up and telling me her struggles

  571. And it all came back to a bitterness

  572. against her father

  573. And a hard heart to now where she couldn't she she

  574. I mean she could but she wouldn't she couldn't trust again

  575. She couldn't trust father God when her own natural dad had betrayed her

  576. I mean she could if she had allowed the lord to work on her heart

  577. But she began to just like an eel just

  578. Wiggle out of his grasp

  579. There were others who were with us. They're still to this day

  580. They text me they phone me. They're we're all serving the Lord

  581. My heart still breaks because I saw first hand what a hard heart could do

  582. And then it ends up being a christless life and God forbid a christless eternity

  583. Do not harden your hearts as in the day of rebellion

  584. Or in the rebellion in the day of trial and the wilderness

  585. Where your father's tested me tried me and saw my works 40 years

  586. Everything all right

  587. You can show verse nine just to prove to them that I didn't make it up

  588. And then we'll go to verse 10

  589. Therefore I was angry with that generation and said they always go astray in their heart

  590. And they have not known my ways so I sworn my wrath

  591. They shall not enter my rest be where brethren

  592. lest there be worship team you can come up

  593. lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief

  594. in departing

  595. From the living God

  596. An evil heart of unbelief

  597. Let me just read this to you as the worship team comes up

  598. Unbelief this is just from various theologians new all unbelief is not

  599. inability to understand but unwillingness to trust

  600. It is the will not the intelligence that is involved

  601. It is the will not the intelligence

  602. One can truly believe God yet be occasionally troubled by doubts that's not what this is talking about

  603. There is a doubt that once God's promise but is weak in faith at the moment

  604. Unbelief isn't weakness of faith it sets itself in opposition to faith

  605. When you see bitter people they actually have faith for bad things to happen to them

  606. They have faith for their life to go nowhere

  607. There's people who get sick. I knew it. I just knew it. It's like you get surprised you knew

  608. You had faith that your life would get worse not better

  609. God

  610. God wants to heal hurting hearts right now

  611. Hardened hearts

  612. One of the first things when it comes to healing a hard heart

  613. Is you have to forgive those who've wronged you

  614. You how it's it's just a must

  615. You in Christ Jesus have been forgiven

  616. All of your sin and you don't even know what they all are

  617. You got saved maybe you confessed a few things that were important to you

  618. You have no idea the atrocities you've committed and he wiped it all clean

  619. And then he asked for you to show that same mercy to others

  620. And some people say I just can't know you can you just won't

  621. You've now partnered with this evil spirit. It's a demon

  622. Then makes you feel a sense of

  623. victimhood and superiority somehow to hold on to that grudge

  624. But that grudge that bitterness is killing you

  625. Jesus told the parable

  626. Of a man who was forgiven a great great debt then wouldn't forgive others who owed him

  627. He owed he owed him like 20 bucks in today's terms and he owed millions

  628. And the king found out and said hand him over to the torturers

  629. Any Christian who's not walking in forgiveness to others

  630. They're actually the life has been handed over to the torturers

  631. Forgive

  632. Release them let them go

  633. Think of them and say I cancel your debts you owe me nothing

  634. I forgive you I forgive you and those who really hurt hurt you

  635. This isn't a one-time thing

  636. You're gonna have to forgive them like a thousand times

  637. You can do it in the service right now and then on the way back home

  638. The whole movie will play again in your head. You'll get all ramped up again

  639. You got to keep for their people out to forgive over and over and over again

  640. If you want to expedite to forgive this process send them a gift

  641. Yeah

  642. Take a hundred bucks so worth it just send it to them

  643. It's very hard to be bitter against someone you've given to

  644. Hallelujah

  645. Want you to close your eyes

  646. Hallelujah

  647. Hallelujah

  648. Put your eyes on Jesus

  649. This chapter three is a timeless message

  650. An all-important message

  651. Of persevering

  652. Looking at the faithfulness of God

  653. And protecting from hardness of heart

  654. This is why revival is so important

  655. This is why the move of the Holy Spirit is so important

  656. Well, that's the Holy Spirit our hearts get hard cynical

  657. Doubting and unbelieving

  658. Holy Spirit move on your people

  659. Touch people

  660. Refresh

  661. Re-invigorate

  662. heal

  663. Bring life

  664. Life

  665. Devanta la la vasta caesta

  666. Every weight comes off in Jesus' name
