  1. God wants you to be at rest.

  2. He wants you to know that you are saved.

  3. John wrote these things I write unto you that you may know,

  4. not that you would hope so.

  5. I don't have hope so salvation.

  6. I have no so salvation.

  7. He says, ice things I write to you that you would know

  8. that you have eternal life.

  9. I know that I have so much.

  10. Well, how do you know?

  11. Because Jesus said so.

  12. Welcome to the City Light Church podcast.

  13. Thanks for joining us today,

  14. as we look into God's Word

  15. and discover the hope and truth that He has for us.

  16. If you want to connect with City Light Church,

  17. feel free to visit us at citylightnyc.com

  18. that's citylightnyc.com.

  19. Pastor Boyan Jansik and his team

  20. believe that the power of the Holy Spirit

  21. is already working in our hearts and minds.

  22. As you listen to today's teaching,

  23. remember that you are deeply loved by God.

  24. That you are surrounded by His grace

  25. and that He has a real hope and a future for you.

  26. Praise God.

  27. See, that's where everybody was.

  28. They were waiting to come to the second service.

  29. And we went somewhere in worship.

  30. When you have a chunk of people,

  31. you gotta have a cluster.

  32. You got to.

  33. I know, Jesus said we're two or three.

  34. Now that's nice, that's like the minimum though.

  35. But in the up room, there wasn't two or three.

  36. There was a cluster and the wine is in the clusters.

  37. You gotta do a cluster.

  38. We're missing a few folks this morning

  39. because we got robbed of an hour, right?

  40. And so here you are.

  41. Now in second service.

  42. Isn't it amazing how you can go to bed

  43. four or five hours after your regular bedtime,

  44. wake up the next day, typically, totally fine.

  45. But daylight savings time, we're all wiped out

  46. because they took it from us.

  47. See, if I go to bed four hours after my bedtime,

  48. that's my choice.

  49. My mind and body are prepared.

  50. But now, what happened?

  51. I love that song.

  52. I love that song.

  53. We were stuck in St. Andrews, many of you don't know.

  54. We have that second location just around the corner

  55. that we still keep.

  56. Life groups meet there and we do other things there.

  57. But we were stuck there.

  58. And we couldn't, we were already wall-to-wall people.

  59. The reason we were stuck is because spaces in New York City,

  60. they're not a dime a dozen.

  61. They're not plentiful.

  62. And I was looking for spaces one day.

  63. Maurice, you and I, we went out and we just drove around

  64. all of the story of looking for spaces.

  65. And so an old gym, so nothing fit.

  66. You know, any space that's large enough to hold hundreds of people,

  67. they have pillars and columns.

  68. And it was kind of a defeating time with,

  69. went back into my car, and I turned on my car

  70. and this song came on.

  71. And it's exactly how we were feeling,

  72. walking around these walls.

  73. Over and over again, I thought they'd never fall.

  74. It's like, Lord, you're growing our church,

  75. you're blessing us, but we're in a little house

  76. on the prairie church with one bathroom,

  77. no air conditioning.

  78. Please provide something.

  79. Within five seconds, we were roaring laughing in the car.

  80. I was laugh crying, cry laughing,

  81. the anointing all over me.

  82. That was 2017 or early,

  83. I just know several months later,

  84. the door opened up for this place, amen.

  85. And then, you know, we were too small for this place

  86. and then the Lord filled it up.

  87. And now I'm at that place where I'm going again, Lord.

  88. I'm walking around these walls.

  89. In my emotions, I thought they'd never fall,

  90. but you, oh God, you're faithful.

  91. Faithful always, hallelujah.

  92. Welcome to those of you joining us online.

  93. I want to jump in with a bit of a different kind

  94. of message this morning.

  95. Different, but very important.

  96. I think of myself as an encourager and a teacher.

  97. But you know, Paul, he echoed this sentiment several times,

  98. very clearly and specifically in Colossians 1,

  99. he said, teaching every man and warning every man.

  100. So within teaching, within encouraging,

  101. there has to be some warning salt and pepper there.

  102. Amen.

  103. The Bible says if a father doesn't correct or train his child,

  104. he actually despises and hates this child.

  105. And if I as a pastor never, ever warned anyone,

  106. I would be held guilty, amen.

  107. I'd be liable.

  108. I need to biblically, I mean, some preachers,

  109. here's the whole part of them.

  110. They only rely on warnings.

  111. Everything is you better not.

  112. But there was a healthy warning, amen.

  113. I had to announce that because with my opening scripture,

  114. you're going to wonder where are we going with this today.

  115. Mark chapter three verses 28 to 30.

  116. Truly, I say to you, this is Jesus speaking.

  117. All sins will be forgiven the children of man.

  118. And whatever blasphemies they utter, that's good news, isn't it?

  119. And that's the gospel.

  120. That all of our sins, no matter how bad, how heinous,

  121. they've been taken away by the finished work of Jesus.

  122. It's good to remind themselves of that.

  123. Even when you read your Bible, right?

  124. You look at it and then you think a bunch of these authors,

  125. the Bible is 66 books, over 40 different authors,

  126. a bunch of them had committed murder.

  127. Some more than once.

  128. From Moses to David, just off the top of my head,

  129. Paul was a serial Christian killer.

  130. And yet totally forgiven, totally redeemed.

  131. So nobody's beyond the blood of Jesus.

  132. Nobody's beyond forgiveness.

  133. And that's the gospel.

  134. Good news.

  135. In order for you to appreciate the good news,

  136. you gotta know the bad news.

  137. The bad news is we've all been born under sin.

  138. We've all been born into this earth,

  139. no matter what we do,

  140. there's a verdict of guilty over our heads.

  141. And the Bible says we are in our hearts at enmity.

  142. We are at war with God.

  143. And the wrath of God abides on us.

  144. Because we're all born into sin.

  145. We like to compare ourselves to the worst person we know

  146. and kind of make ourselves feel better.

  147. God doesn't do that.

  148. He compares us to the best person.

  149. He knows himself.

  150. And we'll always fall short.

  151. This is all the bad news.

  152. The good news is is that God, he knew you weren't a bind.

  153. So he came as a savior.

  154. And he came from heaven earth.

  155. God was made flesh.

  156. He went to the cross.

  157. All of our sins, every single one,

  158. past, present, and future,

  159. that was placed upon Jesus.

  160. And then the just wrath of God was hammered out.

  161. Paul, holy justice was served.

  162. Yet not for us, it was on Jesus.

  163. He took it in our place.

  164. He was our great substitute.

  165. Isn't this, this is the good news, right?

  166. So sin has been taken out of the way.

  167. Yet we find Jesus saying

  168. in the next verse,

  169. but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit

  170. never has forgiveness.

  171. But his guilty

  172. and this is a very scary term of an eternal sin.

  173. Terrifying, right?

  174. Terrifying that there could be a sin

  175. and here it's blaspheming the Holy Spirit

  176. that you can never ever get forgiveness from.

  177. It's over, done.

  178. And I want to address this because the enemy,

  179. he actually loves this verse also

  180. because he twists it, probably his favorite Bible verse.

  181. He twists it.

  182. He twists it to torture Christians.

  183. And I've just seen something in years of ministry

  184. that there are actually a lot of Christians

  185. who are tortured by this verse.

  186. Like too many.

  187. And the one doing the torturing is Satan,

  188. whispering to them that they have committed

  189. the unpardonable sin, that they're beyond redemption.

  190. When I first became a Christian for the first like 10 years,

  191. I did a lot of homeless ministry,

  192. partly because I'm a very, very compassionate person,

  193. but mainly because no one else would listen to me.

  194. And I had a captive audience.

  195. Me and my friends, we get sandwich bags,

  196. little juice things,

  197. and at least I got five minutes with you.

  198. You owe me that buddy, let's talk.

  199. And here's what I found over the years

  200. that a ridiculous amount, an insane amount,

  201. a disproportionate amount of people I would encounter

  202. thought they were guilty of the unpardonable sin.

  203. And I was out seeing that.

  204. I read the story, another minister, he was writing

  205. and he said, in mental asylum,

  206. there's actually a disproportionate amount of people

  207. who believe they've committed this sin.

  208. Because all of your sins have been forgiven, right?

  209. But if you don't understand this verse,

  210. it leaves the door open, but there's one.

  211. And Satan does not like you free from guilt

  212. and shame and condemnation.

  213. He likes that condemnation hanging over you.

  214. And when you have faith in the blood of Jesus

  215. and you realize all your sins are gone,

  216. but Satan can still say, what about this?

  217. Maybe you did it on accident.

  218. Maybe you did it in your mind.

  219. Maybe you did it and you don't remember you did it.

  220. But to your surprise, you're going to show up to heaven

  221. and God, the judge is going to say,

  222. what a terrible thing, right?

  223. So let's go into Hebrews chapter 6, say, men.

    Hebrews 6 chapter mention

  224. Salvation is the most important thing to me.

  225. Jesus is the most important person to me.

  226. Salvation is the most important thing.

  227. I believe we should treasure it

  228. and we should understand it, right?

  229. If it's the most important thing and it is,

  230. we should know the parameters.

  231. We should know the rules of engagement.

  232. We should know, for example,

  233. could I do anything to mess it up?

  234. Could I lose my salvation?

  235. If I can, how do I lose my salvation?

  236. Because I really don't want to lose my salvation.

  237. Hallelujah.

  238. I just use what I sense in my spirit.

  239. Some people are going to get saved today.

  240. Just what I said in the first 30 seconds,

  241. it's the first time you're hearing things like this.

  242. Let me assure you and what most people in the Western world

  243. believe most up until about five minutes ago

  244. was there is a God, there is a heaven to gain

  245. and a hell to shun.

  246. Yeah.

  247. And I tell you the same.

  248. Don't trust me, but trust the Lord

  249. who said it over and over again.

  250. If there's no hell, why did Jesus come?

  251. It was bored.

  252. He needed some activities.

  253. No, he came as a savior to save you from hell,

  254. from your sins, IE, and the consequences

  255. of your sins, eternal punishment.

  256. So in Hebrews six, oh wait,

  257. before I get into Hebrews six,

  258. let me just say, let me tell you what I believe,

  259. what this church believes,

  260. and you decide for yourself when it comes to salvation.

  261. You are saved, not by what you do,

  262. it's what the Bible calls works,

  263. but you're saved by faith.

  264. So what that means is no amount of good activity

  265. can undo your past sins, right?

  266. If you sold everything right now,

  267. went to the poorest place in earth,

  268. served the poor there.

  269. If you did that for the rest of your life,

  270. but didn't trust in Jesus for your righteousness,

  271. your hell bound.

  272. You can't do good things to earn salvation.

  273. But if you receive by faith and say,

  274. Lord, I can't do it on my own,

  275. but I trust you, you've taken away all my sins,

  276. I believe in the finished work of the cross,

  277. all of your sins are taken away

  278. and you have eternal life, amen?

  279. So if you can get saved by faith and you can,

  280. you can't get saved by works,

  281. you can't lose your salvation by works.

  282. You can lose your salvation by unfaith,

  283. by rejecting Jesus and stopping to believe.

  284. That's what I believe.

  285. You wrestle with the scripture yourself

  286. and I understand there's a centuries-long argument

  287. about this debate.

  288. There's been attention, if you will,

  289. for centuries and centuries,

  290. different groups have argued.

  291. This is what the word to me is very clear about, to me.

  292. I know preachers let's say the Bible clearly says

  293. and you're like, well, it's not that clear.

  294. Like in that particular one that you're saying,

  295. the Bible's clear and a lot of things,

  296. but when you say the Bible is clear, anyway.

  297. Here we have Hebrews chapter six.

  298. It is a warning letter

  299. because the Hebrew Christians were the most persecuted Christians

  300. and they were beat up, they were busted,

  301. they were destitute, they were tired of being persecuted

  302. and they were on the verge of rejecting Jesus

  303. and rejecting their faith and going back to Judaism,

  304. rejecting Christ.

  305. And so the book, the letter of Hebrews,

  306. it's an appeal to them to not forsake the Lord

  307. and come back, okay?

  308. Let's begin.

  309. You know, I was in the middle of the book of Hebrews,

  310. then I think Thanksgiving came and then Christmas came

  311. and then out here we are in March.

  312. And I'm still not sure if I'm gonna continue it,

  313. but I wanted to do Hebrews six

  314. because of this very, very important topic

  315. that shows up in Hebrews chapter six.

  316. All right, therefore leaving the discussion

  317. of the elementary principles of Christ,

  318. let us go on to perfection,

  319. not laying again the foundation of repentance

  320. from dead works and of faith toward God.

  321. And of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands,

  322. he's saying, you guys really need to like up your game

  323. and I don't wanna lay the basics for you.

  324. In fact, I'm not gonna lay the basics for you.

  325. The way I'm gonna challenge you is I'm gonna,

  326. I'm instead of milk, I'm gonna be giving you meat

  327. and you're gonna come up, something to learn from that.

  328. Of laying on the hands of resurrection of the dead

  329. and of eternal judgment.

  330. And this we will do if God permits.

  331. Now to these people who are on the verge of not like,

  332. just getting a little lukewarm for a while,

  333. getting distracted for a while.

  334. They've been lukewarm, they've been distracted.

  335. Now they wanna drop away from the faith.

  336. He says it is impossible for those who are once enlightened

  337. and have tasted the heavenly gift

  338. and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit

  339. and have tasted the good word of God

  340. and the powers of the age to come.

  341. If they fall away to renew them again to repentance,

  342. so this is connected somehow to what Jesus was saying.

  343. There is this sin that you can never ever get forgiveness from.

  344. If they fall away to renew them again to repentance

  345. since they crucify again for themselves,

  346. the Son of God, and put him to an open shame.

  347. Terrifying.

  348. Not someone who was in the first service, all right?

  349. Holy Spirit's watching.

  350. Can't someone just shout out, what is this sin?

  351. What is the sin that there's no forgiveness from?

  352. You quiet.

  353. You're quiet.

  354. It's good.

  355. He's got the right answer.

  356. But give the others a chance, at least to bake a little bit.

  357. Mr. Acacia Wood or whatever.

  358. What was that?

  359. What was that?

  360. Once I asked about the wood and Noah's Ark,

  361. he was the first one to call out the correct wood

  362. in the building of Noah's Ark.

  363. You're barred from calling out any more, Chris.

  364. Just give others a chance.

  365. This guy will tell you how many gemstones

  366. were in the high-prey South fit.

  367. Someone shouted, I blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

  368. Yes, but what kind of blasphemy?

  369. It is specifically rejecting Jesus.

  370. The reason there is no forgiveness

  371. is because when you reject Jesus,

  372. what can you do after you've rejected Him?

  373. There's no more space for you to do anything else.

  374. Now to clarify this, because it's important for all of us

  375. to be on the same page here

  376. because there are people who are tortured about this.

  377. They're tortured.

  378. You may meet them.

  379. You yourself may be one.

  380. And I know there are some here.

  381. I know, I've been doing this a while.

  382. I've seen people that when you give an altar call,

  383. they keep answering the altar call over

  384. and over Christians answering the altar call over and over.

  385. That is not God's best for you

  386. to keep quote unquote getting saved on a Sunday.

  387. That's actually a torturous state to be in.

  388. God wants you to be at rest.

  389. He wants you to know that you are saved.

  390. John wrote, these things I write unto you that you may know,

  391. not that you would hope so.

  392. I don't have hope so salvation.

  393. I have no so salvation.

  394. He says, I, things I write to you that you would know

  395. that you have eternal life.

  396. I know that I'm holding a microphone in my hand.

  397. I know that I'm leaning on a table right now.

  398. How do I know?

  399. I know.

  400. I know that I have so much.

  401. Well, how do you know?

  402. Because Jesus said so.

  403. The Bible says, if you confess with your mouth

  404. to Lord Jesus and believe in your heart

  405. that God has raised him from the dead,

  406. you shall be saved.

  407. Oh, I did that.

  408. I know I have salvation.

  409. Amen.

  410. And I will not allow devils of doubt

  411. and unbelief to torment me.

  412. So if that's you, we're gonna break the back of that thing

  413. today and you can enjoy the rest of God, the peace of God.

  414. That's when Christianity actually works

  415. when you're resting in Jesus and you know that even though

  416. you're not, you're not experientially perfect

  417. but he has perfected you.

  418. Hallelujah.

  419. You know what, before we go to Hebrews, please,

  420. let's just go to that one verse in Colossians,

  421. Colossians 1, because it sets up Hebrews 6 better.

  422. It's important to stay in the faith

  423. and not forsake Jesus.

  424. Colossians 1, 21 and you who are once alienated,

  425. that's all of us by the way.

  426. We never like to think of ourselves that way

  427. but we were alienated from God and enemies of God

  428. in our mind by wicked works.

  429. Yet now he has reconciled, here's some good encouraging news,

  430. he's reconciled us in the body of his flesh

  431. through death

  432. to present you.

  433. Oh yeah, holy, that's you.

  434. And some of you, it's about to be you.

  435. You're gonna get saved by the end of this service.

  436. Hey, to present you holy and blameless

  437. and above reproach, above shame in his sight.

  438. Isn't that good news?

  439. And then though this conditional if,

  440. if you continue to go to church,

  441. if you pray two hours a day, no, thank God it's not that.

  442. Thank God your relationship with the Lord, you work out, right?

  443. There isn't these legalistic works related stipulations

  444. but you have to stay in the faith.

  445. You gotta keep believing.

  446. What is staying in the faith?

  447. The best I can liken it to is holding on to Jesus' hand.

  448. I have experienced a lot.

  449. I'm gonna be 50 years old next year.

  450. I got some mileage on me now, right?

  451. I've experienced a lot of my life.

  452. There are times pastoring nearly a quarter of a century.

  453. There are times in my life.

  454. I got so hit as a pastor, so hit, so discouraged,

  455. so hurt that all I could do,

  456. and I still have to get up and praise the Lord.

  457. I was not very satisfied with my Christian walk,

  458. my Christian life, let alone what my walk in life

  459. should be like as a minister in these dry, tough seasons.

  460. What did I do?

  461. At least I just kept holding his hand.

  462. And even that was like, you know that's

  463. when your kids just throws you their hand up

  464. and you kind of do all the heavy lifting?

  465. At least I did that.

  466. And that's all he asks.

  467. Continue in the faith.

  468. Sometimes life slaps you, but they head, all right, fine.

  469. But keep holding his hand.

  470. The good hand of the wonderful shepherd.

  471. Amen.

  472. If you continue, that's important.

  473. You gotta continue.

  474. That's by the way why I believe.

  475. Yeah, we're gonna get to losing your salvation,

  476. but it's not something that just happens.

  477. And it's not something that's easy to do.

  478. And it's...

  479. If you're wondering, have I lost my salvation?

  480. You probably haven't.

  481. People who commit apostasy, they don't care anymore.

  482. Lucifer isn't going around pacing the skies

  483. as the prince of the powers of they are wondering,

  484. I wonder if I can, you know, say sorry to God

  485. and we can pass this whole thing up.

  486. When you've committed apostasy,

  487. when you've rejected Jesus after having known him,

  488. you become deranged, completely reprobate.

  489. You don't even wanna go back.

  490. I hope this is helping somebody.

  491. All right, for the three people, the rest,

  492. you're just gonna have to tag along

  493. for the three people that this is for now.

  494. It's helping you.

  495. If indeed you continue in the faith,

  496. ground it instead fast and are not moved away

  497. from the hope of the gospel which you heard,

  498. which was preached to every creature under heaven,

  499. which I, Paul, became a minister.

  500. Amen.

  501. So you have to just continue in the faith.

  502. You know that term fallen from grace?

  503. Whenever minister falls, newspapers, media outlets,

  504. that's the first, oh, so and so fell from grace.

  505. So and so fell from grace.

  506. That's the only context I've actually ever heard.

  507. It used in, except when I went to Guatemala,

  508. you know, we go often for the last 15 years,

  509. our missions project in the bag Guatemala

  510. and the missionary there, Mike McComb,

  511. there's a lot of drunkenness there.

  512. The direct descendants of the Maya,

  513. these shield people, just genetically,

  514. they can't handle their liquor.

  515. They don't have an enzyme to metabolize it, right?

  516. And so you'll see drunken people just sleeping

  517. in the mud, in the streets, like everywhere, you know,

  518. you just walk five minutes off, there's somebody.

  519. And Mike McComb, the missionary there said,

  520. you know, if they're Christian,

  521. the Christians there will just go,

  522. oh, he's fallen from grace.

  523. That term fallen from grace.

  524. How many of you heard that term?

  525. All right.

  526. When you look into the Bible, which I highly encourage,

  527. get your theology, get your worldview from the Bible

  528. and not from what people say,

  529. that phrase is used only once, fallen from grace.

  530. And Paul actually uses it for the Galatians.

  531. When they took their eyes off of the finished cross

  532. and started trusting in their own works,

  533. he says you are fallen from grace.

  534. Not when you go fall back into sin.

  535. I'm not belittling sin, but I do want to bring

  536. this scriptural accuracy.

  537. That drunk guy in the mud is not fallen from grace.

  538. He's still just a breath away from Jesus.

  539. He didn't fall from grace.

  540. All he has to do is look to Jesus.

  541. Jesus hasn't left him.

  542. Jesus is still with him.

  543. He doesn't have to get resaved.

  544. And he's just put his eyes on the Lord and walk with him

  545. and yield and surrender.

  546. And you know what, he may fall again.

  547. And then you get back up again.

  548. He may fall again.

  549. Back up again.

  550. Amen.

  551. Hallelujah.

  552. All right, let's get back to Hebrews 6.

  553. I think where,

  554. go back one verse.

  555. Kenneth Hagen, just keep it on that verse, please.

  556. Because this is frightening.

  557. Kenneth Hagen tells the story of Jesus coming to him,

  558. giving him a vision.

  559. If you've been coming 10 plus years,

  560. how many times have I preached another minister's vision?

  561. Exactly zero times, except this one by Kenneth Hagen.

  562. I preach from the Word of God.

  563. This is a man I love.

  564. This is a man I respect.

  565. And frankly, this is a man whose ministry

  566. birthed more international ministries

  567. than any other modern figure in the last 300 years

  568. that I know.

  569. And so I trust this.

  570. And it's not just that I trust it,

  571. is that it aligns with the Word of God.

  572. And he says, the Lord Jesus appeared to him.

  573. He was a prophet, a real prophet of God.

  574. Not a Facebook prophet, not a parking lot prophet,

  575. but a real prophet with the goods to back it up.

  576. Jesus took him into a vision.

  577. And he saw a couple.

  578. A couple he had met only once before.

  579. Husband and wife couple.

  580. And they were both together in ministry.

  581. And he says in that vision,

  582. he saw a demon, like a little implyc creature.

  583. Land on the woman's shoulder.

  584. And whisper to her, you are so beautiful.

  585. You are so talented.

  586. You have been cheated in this life.

  587. And she immediately recognized that

  588. as the voice of the enemy.

  589. And you know, a lot of people say Satan is tempting me.

  590. But sometimes they mean literally Satan.

  591. Like literally Satan.

  592. Like these Satan.

  593. Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies.

  594. No.

  595. That's termed the enemy or Satan.

  596. Just means, yeah, Satan and his kingdom and his hordes.

  597. And you know, for most of us, Satan doesn't have to come.

  598. He just sends a little two foot, little imp in his place.

  599. It's enough of a challenge.

  600. Land on her shoulder.

  601. Land on her.

  602. Land on her shoulder.

  603. He attempts her.

  604. She immediately recognizes it as the voice of the enemy.

  605. And she says, I rebuke you in Jesus name.

  606. This demon falls from her shoulder.

  607. And in the vision, he actually says,

  608. I saw that devil squeal and run out of the church.

  609. Woo.

  610. Then in the vision, a little time passes.

  611. She's brushing her hair in the mirror.

  612. Saying demon lands on her shoulder and says,

  613. you're so beautiful, you're so talented.

  614. And just starts provoking her, irritating her.

  615. You've been cheated in this life.

  616. She rebukes the enemy again.

  617. Immediately, the enemy is silenced for a while.

  618. You know when Satan tempted Jesus,

  619. it says that the devil left him for a season.

  620. Then leave him forever for a season.

  621. Vision fast forwards just a few days into the future.

  622. Same evil spirit comes upon her shoulder.

  623. Says, you're so beautiful, you're so talented.

  624. You've been cheated in this life.

  625. This time, she doesn't rebuke it.

  626. She just entertains the thought a little bit like, yeah.

  627. Life didn't turn out, how I wanted, how I hoped.

  628. And I kind of do feel like I've been cheated

  629. and I am very beautiful and talented.

  630. He said, in that moment in the vision,

  631. he saw her like a glass mannequin.

  632. And a dark black dot appears inside her skull

  633. about the size of a quarter.

  634. And now Jesus is explaining the vision.

  635. He said she was oppressed with this harassing temptation.

  636. She was doing fine until there was a part of her

  637. that she just wanted to be tempted a little bit.

  638. She liked it.

  639. I know you don't, can't relate to that,

  640. but there are people.

  641. Sometimes they just, they just liked,

  642. they don't tell themselves ever gonna act on the temptation,

  643. but you just kinda wanna let your mind wander a little bit

  644. and you kinda like the temptation, you think about it.

  645. And when she partnered with that temptation,

  646. when she allowed it in, all of a sudden,

  647. it's not that she was oppressed from the outside in,

  648. now that dark circle formed inside of her mind

  649. and she became obsessed.

  650. Before possession, after oppression is obsession.

  651. People get obsessed.

  652. She was obsessed now with this.

  653. She kept thinking about it over and over again.

  654. Well, what you think about, you bring about.

  655. And as she received this thought,

  656. she divorced her husband, left him,

  657. ended up chasing the world for her fame and her fortune

  658. and slept with many men.

  659. In the vision, fast forwards a little bit more

  660. and kind of taken, says he's standing outside of a hotel

  661. and sees a well-renowned minister,

  662. come out of a car and head into the hotel room

  663. and he was on a mission to bring this woman back to the Lord.

  664. News had spread about, because both her and her husband

  665. were in ministry, news had spread how she had left him.

  666. And he wanted to give her another chance

  667. and confront her and draw her back to Jesus.

  668. He says in the vision, he sees him,

  669. take the elevator, go up, knock on the door,

  670. the door opens.

  671. And on the other side is a scantily clad woman

  672. and the minister begins to appeal to her, come back to Jesus.

  673. He's still here waiting for, he loves,

  674. he's forgiven you, everything already come back to him

  675. and she looked at him and said,

  676. I don't want to have anything to do with you

  677. or your damn Jesus and she slammed the door.

  678. At that moment, everything changed.

  679. In the vision, that dark dot,

  680. that symbolized the obsession,

  681. it now went down into her spirit

  682. and she had committed the unpardonable sin.

  683. She had renounced Jesus.

  684. In first John, he says there is a sin that leads to death.

  685. When someone is in this kind of sin,

  686. he says, I don't even say that you should pray for them.

  687. That's in the Bible.

  688. Don't even pray for them.

  689. That's a good question.

  690. What is the sin that leads to death

  691. where the Bible says, don't even pray for them?

  692. Well, it's this sin.

  693. Because you can't pray for somebody

  694. who they can't even come back to the Lord.

  695. Now, this is good news, happy Sunday.

  696. Everything's gonna be all right.

  697. We're gonna get somewhere with this.

  698. There are qualifications to be able to commit this sin.

  699. Rewind, I think, to verse four.

  700. So that you can see that you have not,

  701. I mean, if you're here right now, you're not.

  702. You haven't.

  703. If you're wondering, have I ever committed their sin?

  704. Just ask yourself is Satan going wondering,

  705. have I ever heard God's feelings?

  706. Have I ever offended him?

  707. Maybe I wasn't aware.

  708. I mean, how was I supposed to know?

  709. Stealing some of his glory, he'd have a problem with that.

  710. I don't know.

  711. No, he doesn't think like that.

  712. By the way, that story of the minister who said there's a lot,

  713. there's a disproportionate amount of people

  714. in mental institutions who think

  715. that they've committed the unpardonable sin.

  716. Those are two categories of people.

  717. One, sincere Christians, but they have a legalistic,

  718. religious spirit, and they allow themselves to be tortured.

  719. They never did commit the unpardonable sin,

  720. but they think they have it, they drove them crazy.

  721. That's some of them.

  722. And there's category number two,

  723. people who actually have committed the unpardonable sin.

  724. And what's left of a Christian after that?

  725. Nothing, just a whole, avoid.

  726. They're not in their right mind ever again.

  727. For it is impossible, so here he lists the criteria

  728. for people to commit the unpardonable sin.

  729. As I'm preaching, I said,

  730. realize there's not a normal Sunday morning message.

  731. We used to have Friday nights where I would preach

  732. the weird stuff.

  733. But I need you all to get this.

  734. Some of you need to get peace and assurance of salvation,

  735. and you need to know the rules.

  736. You need to know how this whole thing works.

  737. Amen.

  738. For it is impossible for those who are once enlightened.

  739. So here are the categories.

  740. Number one, we're talking about Christians

  741. who are enlightened, what does enlightened mean?

  742. That your eyes were opened to your need for a savior,

  743. that you were convicted of your sin,

  744. and you realize, I have sin,

  745. and I can't do a thing about it myself.

  746. I need a savior, I need Jesus.

  747. That's enlightenment.

  748. And have tasted the heavenly gift.

  749. What is the heavenly gift?

  750. In the vision Jesus himself said,

  751. I am the heavenly gift, salvation.

  752. So your eyes were opened and you were saved, all right?

  753. Three, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit.

  754. That means you were according to Acts chapter two,

  755. baptized in the Holy Spirit.

  756. Are you seeing that this is not a newbie to the faith?

  757. This is not an immature believer.

  758. Immature, emotional newbie believers

  759. have screamed at God, screamed at the Holy Spirit,

  760. said terrible things to the Holy Spirit,

  761. and then wonder, oh, can I ever be forgiven of it?

  762. Yes, because the Lord knows,

  763. you were temporarily very, very stupid.

  764. And He's going to cut you some slack

  765. and have tasted the heavenly gift

  766. and become partakers of the Holy Spirit.

  767. So number one, your eyes were opened,

  768. you saw your need for a savior,

  769. then you got saved, number two,

  770. number three, you were baptized in the Holy Spirit

  771. and have tasted the good word of God.

  772. That means that you are not biblically illiterate.

  773. You know the scriptures, you know the word.

  774. And then number five, and the powers,

  775. not verse five, point five, and the powers of the age to come.

  776. What are the powers of age to come?

  777. The gifts of the Holy Spirit,

  778. discernment, discerning of spirits,

  779. word of knowledge, word of wisdom,

  780. working miracles, the gift of faith.

  781. So it pains the picture of somebody

  782. who's been serving the Lord intimately a long time

  783. and really, really like that woman in the story.

  784. She was in ministry with her husband.

  785. And in that vision, the Lord said,

  786. if she would have slept with a hundred men,

  787. and then he said, with hundreds and hundreds of men,

  788. I would have forgiven her everything,

  789. but it was when she rejected me.

  790. That now she was too far gone.

  791. And it's not just that she can come back to the Lord,

  792. the real problem is she doesn't want to.

  793. She made it, she doesn't want to,

  794. and she never will want to.

  795. Hallelujah.

  796. Hallelujah.

  797. Hallelujah.

  798. Let's go to Hebrews chapter 10.

    Hebrews 10 chapter mention

  799. I'm gonna ask the worship team to come on up.

  800. Hebrews chapter 10.

    Hebrews 10 chapter mention

  801. So I'm preaching this this morning for several reasons.

  802. One, I believe, I've helped some people

  803. who secretly or times you've thought.

  804. Anybody want to be bold and said,

  805. I thought I committed a sin?

  806. Wow, yeah, let me see your hands.

  807. Look at that, thank you.

  808. No, now raise your hands if you thought

  809. you committed a sin of black all across the room.

  810. That's wonderful.

  811. First of all, I commend you on your honesty.

  812. I'll ask a survey like,

  813. hey, how many of you are gonna be a part of a life group

  814. and nobody raised their hand and life groups are full?

  815. I ask like this most intimate personal question

  816. and people like, yeah, that was me.

  817. Church is funny.

  818. Well, I'm glad that you know now that you have not.

  819. You haven't.

  820. Blast for me against the Holy Spirit

  821. is being a mature Christian

  822. and then consciously, intentionally rejecting Jesus.

  823. It's not an easy thing to do.

  824. Most of us, we won't even be tempted with that.

  825. But I preach this also because I don't know

  826. what the future holds 10, 15 years from now.

  827. Could be illegal to be a Christian, we don't know.

  828. And then we have, we need to have a deeper resolve

  829. that we'll never ever forsake the faith.

  830. And at the end of the day, we don't have power

  831. to keep ourselves.

  832. I'll never see me prancing up here and going,

  833. I'll never deny him.

  834. I will never, you know who did that, Peter?

  835. Lord, I'll never deny you

  836. and then did it the same night three times.

  837. So I'm not gonna, Lord, you know me, Mr. Faithful.

  838. I'm gonna say, Lord,

  839. you know, for too much emphasis is on me,

  840. I'm gonna botch it up.

  841. Lord, I trust in you for your saving power

  842. and your keeping power.

  843. You're gonna keep me uncompromised.

  844. You're gonna keep me strong.

  845. You're gonna keep me on the straight and narrow.

  846. And here's what he says, anyone who has rejected,

  847. Moses' law dies without mercy

  848. and the testimony of two or three witnesses,

  849. just showing you that there is this place,

  850. someone can lose their salvation, but it's uncommon.

  851. And it's not something anybody should be thinking

  852. about too much, rather think about Jesus

  853. and his forgiveness and the glorious life

  854. he's working out in you right now

  855. and his kingdom come to earth.

  856. Of how much worse punishment do you suppose?

  857. Will he be thought worthy

  858. who has trampled the Son of God under foot?

  859. Counted the blood of the covenant

  860. by which he was sanctified, a common thing,

  861. and insulted the spirit of grace, he's warning the Hebrews

  862. and he's telling him what happens when you reject Jesus.

  863. Number one, I wanna give people an opportunity today

  864. to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

  865. We're having baptisms coming up, may the third.

  866. I believe it's gonna be one of our biggest,

  867. most anointed, best baptisms.

  868. I feel it in my spirit.

  869. I'd like every head bowed, every eye closed.

  870. If you're here, you're under the sound of my voice

  871. and you're not 100% certain that you're saved,

  872. that your sins are forgiven, that you're heaven bound.

  873. I wanna say a prayer with you and for you.

  874. I'm not gonna ask you to get up out of your seat,

  875. but I'm gonna ask that you lift up your hand

  876. and acknowledge your need for a Savior.

  877. I'm the count of three.

  878. If you were to die tonight, God forbid,

  879. but if you were, do you know for certain

  880. that you'd spend eternity with heaven?

  881. You can know and I wanna help you get there with a prayer.

  882. The count of three, you lift your hand up.

  883. One, two, in Jesus name three, let me see your hands.

  884. If you need Jesus, if you need forgiveness, thank you.

  885. Keep it up.

  886. Head bowed, eyes closed, every hand up.

  887. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

  888. Thank you, keep those hands up.

  889. Thank you, Jesus, over 20 hands up, thank you Lord.

  890. Thank you Lord for glorious Sunday of harvest.

  891. All right, now I want you to put your hands down.

  892. Look up at me.

  893. We're gonna say a prayer together.

  894. We're all gonna pray it out loud, all right.

  895. But those who raise your hands, I want you to be extra loud.

  896. Cause often when I do this,

  897. the other Christians are saying it out loud

  898. and the person who raised their hands

  899. really needs to say it, it's kind of like muttering it.

  900. We're not saying it, say it with your whole chest.

  901. You ready?

  902. We're all gonna say it.

  903. Dear Lord Jesus, I believe in you.

  904. I believe you died on the cross in my place.

  905. I repent of my sins.

  906. I receive eternal life.

  907. I believe in the finished work of the cross.

  908. Thank you Jesus.

  909. By faith, I believe I've been born again.

  910. I am sin-free.

  911. I'm a friend of God.

  912. And I'll spend eternity with you in heaven.

  913. In Jesus name, amen.

  914. Yeah, let's rejoice.

  915. Oh yeah.

  916. Those of you who raised your hands,

  917. you don't have to do this alone.

  918. We got life groups.

  919. We got a great staff.

  920. We've got everything to help you in your walk with the Lord.

  921. Take that connection card.

  922. Don't even talk about connection cards, I didn't.

  923. Can I see one of those?

  924. Thank you, hun.

  925. The, I was excited to preach about the unforgivable sin

  926. so much that I forgot.

  927. If you're a guest, fill these out,

  928. but this is the number one way to communicate with us.

  929. If you wanna get baptized,

  930. if you wanna be a part of a life group,

  931. if you wanna serve, if you have questions

  932. you need answered, whatever you need,

  933. this is step one.

  934. And so if you just got saved, fill one of these out.

  935. Grab a couple of those booklets in the foyer.

  936. You say, what, but I'm not gonna tell you the title

  937. because you'll forget anyway.

  938. Just go to the front and say, give me the booklets.

  939. Then make a decision to get baptized.

  940. And then the best advice I can give you

  941. is talk to God every day.

  942. That's what helped me in the beginning.

  943. The guy who led me to the Lord, he wasn't a minister,

  944. but he said, it's like picking up the phone

  945. and talking to your best friend.

  946. Do it for a few minutes every day.

  947. Best advice I got.

  948. I haven't stopped talking to him on the phone.

  949. Read the Gospel of Mark.

  950. It's only 16 chapters long.
