Winning the War - Protect the Dome

You can flip in your Bible, Ephesians 6.

In just a moment, we're going to get there.

But the reality is, this has been part of our winning the war series that we're in.

We're going through spiritual armor that is in Ephesians 6.

And so today we're going to have a conversation about protecting your dome.

Come on.

Listen, any any motorcycle riders out there, come on.

Yes, Lord.

Some people say, I can't believe you ride a motorcycle.

Listen, man.

If I can, I ride a motorcycle, I enjoy it.

I have a ton of fun.

But I had one requirement from my wife if I was going to ride on a motorcycle, and it was helmet.

Probably for a few reasons, but one of those was not long after I got on that motorcycle.

One day I was riding that thing into the church office in Nebraska, by the way.

If you don't know, they grow some pretty big deer in that area.

Yeah, man.

I'm riding that motorcycle one day and I'm going up over this ramp onto the highway and out of nowhere, coming up the side of the hill, this big old buck just jumps right over the top of the hill.

He darts right in front of my motorcycle.

Thankfully, I put on the foot pedal for the back break and not just the handlebar on the front one to throw me somewhere.

I mean, I literally, my front tire brushed the tail of that deer as he went by me.

I had to go home and change pants after that before I went back to the office.

I mean, it was a bad experience.

But you know what I was thankful for in that moment?

Man, that helmet was there, man.

If that bike had to go down, I don't have many good things about me, but the brain might be the only good thing about me.

I gotta take care of that one muscle as best I can.

And so in life, man, we have these moments where we understand we've got to protect our dome.

We got to protect the things that go on inside of our head.

Maybe some of you guys are like me, and one of the things that always gets in your head is fear.

How many of you guys can find the worst case scenario in any situation?

Man, I'm telling you, I'm great at it.

I can walk into a room and I get in a crowded room with a lot of people, and I'm already looking for exits on the way out and where I can direct people if I need to.

If we go to a restaurant and eat together, unless you're carrying a gun, I need to sit so I can see all doors as people are coming in.

Like my mind just goes there.

And maybe for some of us, like the mind will play tricks on us.

And for some of us, we just have self-destructive thought patterns.

Some of us, every time we look at ourselves in the mirror, all we can do is find something that's wrong with us.

Anyone like that?

Ooh, those gray hairs.

For me, it's like, ooh, there's no hair.

Who's that whole wrinkly man looking back at me in the mirror?

Oh, wait, that's me.

We just, isn't it funny how we have a knack?

We can just pick ourselves apart about everything we don't like about us.

And that's a problem.

But most of the time it just happens in our head and we don't even think about it.

Maybe for some of us, man, we've just got the disease to please people.

I'm so afraid of hurting somebody's feelings that I'll just cater or change everything in my life because I don't want to hurt somebody's feelings.

I heard somebody the other day say, I don't go to birthday parties because I'm afraid if I don't show up to somebody else's, I'm gonna make somebody mad.

Like that's crazy.

But that's what some like there's such a disease to please people that plays in our mind that for some people, it's just like the reality is we play such a battle in our mind, and one of the biggest places that the enemy likes to fight us is in our head.

And today we're gonna look at one of the greatest weapons we have, and it's the helmet of salvation, because the helmet protects our head and should begin to shape the way that we think.

And there's this scripture, 2 Timothy 1.7.

Maybe you know it.

It says, For God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Maybe you know another version where it says power, love, and a sound mind.

But I love what the amplified version says in this moment, when it breaks down that sound mind or self-discipline, it says that God has given us a spirit of sound judgment and personal discipline, abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control.

Let me ask you in here.

If you had to say your thought process in life was a calm, well-balanced mind, how many of you say, Man, I'm crushing it?

I look around, like just for a moment, okay?

Did anybody raise their hands?

Like, none of us.

Because it's the one place that we don't put the helmet on to protect our mind.

It's the run one place that we let the enemy run wild and we don't even realize how often it is.

But the reality that Jesus wants for you is not a mind and a thought process that runs wild over your life, but it's a mind that is calm.

A mind that is well balanced and self-controlled.

That's the heart that Jesus wants for you.

That's the mind that he's trying to create for you.

And one of the biggest battlegrounds where we miss it is right in between our ears and this matter we call a brain and the thoughts that we think.

And God has given us one of the greatest weapons, a helmet of salvation, so that when we are saved, he begins to transform the way we think and shape it to be more like him.

And so here we go, Ephesians 6.

We've read this every time.

I'm gonna keep reading it.

And the reality is there's a process here that God wants for us.

He's trying to build our thought life on Jesus, okay?

He wants our thought life to be built on Jesus.

I'm gonna say that one more time.

Jesus wants your thought life to be built on him.

But the problem is we allow the pattern of this world to shape the way we think instead of allowing Jesus to shape the way we think.

So we're gonna learn what it means to surrender our thoughts so that we can think the thoughts Jesus wants for us.

Ephesians 6, starting in verse 10, says a final word be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power, put on all of God's armor so that you'll be able to stand firm against all the strategies of the devil.

For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies.

Here we go.

For some of us, we keep trying to make a person the enemy.

Let me remind you, people are not the enemy, the enemy is the enemy.

And he is so good at getting us to get mad at somebody else so that we're distracted from the real enemy, which is Satan.

And the moment I got to make a person the enemy, Satan's already won, because he's got you distracted.

Because, verse 12, we're not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in heavenly places.

Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor.

Put it on, why?

So that you can resist the enemy in the time of evil.

Then after the battle, you will be standing firm.

And so stand your ground.

Here we go.

We talked about some of these already.

Putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness, shoes, put on peace that comes from the good news, so that you'll be fully prepared.

In addition to all these things, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.

And now we go to verse 17.

Put on salvation as your helmet.

Put on your helmet.

And take the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.

Salvation forms the helmet we need to protect our minds.

Hear me.

I can any one of us, including myself, I can see how well we are living out our salvation by the condition of the thoughts we think.

All I have to do is spend enough time talking with somebody to hear the way they talk about themselves or the way they talk about other people.

And are those thoughts surrendered to Jesus and his word, or do those reveal a whole lot of negative self-talk about myself or other people?

Why?

Because it is the helmet of salvation that is meant to protect our head and change the way that we think.

And the enemy wants to run wild here.

And most of us, we think so many thoughts because they've been in our life since we were little kids that we don't even realize the negative self-talk we had.

I'm telling you, I was probably 41 or 42.

I'm almost 47 now.

Almost.

Not yet, though.

Before I began to realize the negative voice that existed in my head.

And I didn't realize it until somebody pointed it out by the words that would come out of my mouth.

Maybe you're like me, but I had moments where I would do something.

I thought it was really dumb, and I would just say, Man, Jason, you are so stupid.

Anyone else ever done that?

Yeah.

Until one day I said that in front of my pastor, and he said, No, you're not.

Like, what do you mean?

You're not stupid.

God didn't make you that way.

Like, that's a lie that you just keep repeating.

I know where the lie came from, but that's a whole story for another day.

Parents, be careful the words you use with your kids.

They stick.

And it stuck for almost 40 years of my life.

And I was believing something that wasn't even true.

And like I don't, I don't say it like to most, but like I literally mean it.

Like I took the ACT one time in high school, and I think I scored a 30 or 31 the first time.

I was just like, yeah, like that was it.

Okay, cool.

I'm done.

Like I I'm not stupid, but I believe something that was untrue about myself because I let the enemy in here instead of letting Jesus shape the way that I think.

And we do it all the time without even realizing it.

And so my hope is that through this message, the Spirit will speak to you about lies you believe about yourself or other people and begin to reshape those into who he wants you to be.

Maybe he'll reveal to you who you are in this process.

Are the thoughts you think about yourself or others coming from Jesus?

That'd be the question I'd ask you.

How do we do that?

Well, there's a few ways.

Here's what we got to understand salvation should be easily seen.

If you understand the way a Roman soldier operates back in the day, and you've seen some of those old movies or newer ones where they have a helmet on, the Roman soldier's helmet was very bright.

It was very flamboyant.

The big, tall red, whatever you call those little feather things sticking up there.

There was always carvings and different things put into the side of the helmet.

It was there on purpose to capture attention.

It was there on purpose to be intimidating, to be noticed, and people around to see there's something different about this person who just came marching in with this on.

And if we have missed it somewhere along the way, maybe the reality is our salvation should be the same way.

Jesus didn't die and save you, so you could be a secret Christian.

You should not live your life in such a way where people question, does he follow Jesus or doesn't he?

There's something different about her.

You can tell by the way she lives, the way she acts, the way she talks, that something is different inside of her.

Now, some of us swing this pendulum all the way to the other side, and like we leverage our salvation as a moment to point out sin and everybody else and beat them up over it.

Okay, can I just tell you right now, witnessing is not a free pass to be a jerk Christian.

Oh, that's a great spot for an amen.

There we go.

Okay, all right, all right, there we go.

Okay.

Like it's we still have to recognize if it wasn't for grace, we would be there too.

But there's something about the way we live, the way we act, the way we interact on social media.

The things you type out with those fingers, or some of you peck one word at a time, whichever it is, I won't judge.

That there should be something noticeably different about us.

And for many of us, it's so hard to do this.

But the reality is people stay hidden in their salvation, I believe, not because they're humble, but because they're ashamed.

Maybe I'm ashamed of Christ and I'm ashamed to let people know.

Maybe I'm ashamed because I used to live a life and I know who I used to be, and these people know who I used to be, and so I'm afraid to stand up and be bold because I know who I was or take your pick.

The enemy wants to get in between your ears, and instead of giving us a boldness to go live out our faith, he wants to keep you in fear and shame so that you won't be who Jesus has called you to be.

And so this is what we're gonna do today.

Talk about how we can live in such a bold, radical way to shape the things that we do.

And so, 2 Corinthians 10, 5.

This scripture, we destroy proud obstacles that keep people from knowing God.

Anybody want to help people know God better?

Yeah, it's it's amazing because where you think Paul would go with this is he would say, Let me tell you how to share your faith better.

If I want to help people know God better, we would think that's what he says.

But the next sentence he says, we capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

You know, one of the greatest things that we need to do is we need to understand salvation takes thoughts captive.

And for so many of us, here's what happens we invert this process and we let our thoughts take us captive.

And if you're in that space, let me just tell you, it's a good day in hell for Satan when we let our thoughts take us captive.

Because he knows he's got us beat.

I don't know if you figured this out yet.

I've said it from the get-go.

You're not fighting to win, you're fighting from a place of victory.

Satan knows he can't steal your salvation from you.

I'll say that one more time because some of us need that confidence.

Satan cannot take your salvation from you.

Why?

Because he is under the authority of Jesus, and there is only one person that can save you, and his name is, and he is the name above all names.

And at the name of Jesus, every knee would bow and every tongue would confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, even Satan.

Satan cannot take your salvation.

And so he'll do the next best thing that he can is to make your life as unfruitful as possible.

And he knows the best playground to make your life unfruitful is to get right up in between those ears, right in your mind, and sow all kinds of bad thoughts so that he can ruin the fruit of your salvation that Jesus wants for you.

And so that's why Paul would say, we got to take every thought captive.

Some of you like the best thing you could do from this message this week, I'd encourage you.

Some of you like, I don't like homework.

This might be good homework, okay?

Get out a notepad, open up a note in your phone, and just ask the Lord, hey, what thoughts do I have in my life that I need to take captive?

And start writing those or typing those out.

And then if you want a really fun exercise after that, say, God, what do I need to replace those thoughts with?

That belt of truth that we talked about.

It's a great time to go find a scripture and put the right thoughts back in to replace the wrong ones the enemy's trying to destroy.

Why?

Because we have to take our thoughts captive.

There are two ways the enemy gets us in our head.

He gets us with our thoughts, or he gets us with our feelings.

Ooh, I'm gonna mess with you for just a minute, okay?

Hear me.

Your feelings are real, but your feelings don't always speak truth to you.

I'll say it one more time.

Because somebody needs to grab a hold of this.

Your feelings are real, but they do not always tell you the truth.

Why?

Because the enemy knows how to pull the strings of your feelings and deceive you.

Nobody loves me.

That's not true.

It may feel that way, it's not true.

I'm so stupid.

It may feel that way, but it's not true.

I'm not worth anything.

It may feel that way, but scripture says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

God doesn't make junk, so you are worthy because Jesus died on the cross for you.

But if all you do is listen to your feelings, you're gonna end up believing a thought that's a lie.

Some of us need to learn to control our feelings.

Or maybe better yet, just don't respond to everything when you're feeling something.

Because they may be lying to you in this moment.

And it's the playground where the enemy likes to fight.

How do I know?

Because I've seen it in every marriage, I've seen it in every relationship with kids, I've seen it in every dynamic with people that I work with.

Well, take your pick, man.

And as we grow as a church, let me just tell you: here's going to be the thoughts that Satan will plant in our minds to distract what God's trying to do.

People will say, Man, I just I don't want to be a part of a big church.

I'll like a small church, and you know, we're getting too big because we're going to two services.

And cool, that's just not from God.

Man, there wasn't a big church back in the Bible.

I mean, God Acts, Peter preached one message and 3,000 people got saved in one day.

If he didn't like some big churches, he sure had an odd way of getting people saved and bringing them in.

Not every big church is a bad church.

I can't know everybody.

No, you can't, but you can still know somebody and be known.

You can still serve, you can still give, you can still be a part of what God's doing.

There's nothing in scripture said that I should know everybody that's in my church.

It says I'm called to be part of his church.

I'm called to build community with somebody.

And so it doesn't matter how big we get, there will always be opportunity to build community and relationship with people so you can grow.

It's the lie the enemy will tell.

It is the way he will work.

I have people as a pastor, like it's amazing to be people get mad at me as a pastor because man, you're supposed to save my kid.

You're supposed to save my marriage.

News flash.

I'm not Jesus.

I don't have that power.

He does.

I can point you in the right direction.

I can try to help you.

I don't have the power to save anybody.

That's not my job.

My job is just to point people to Jesus.

That's it.

But if we think wrong thoughts, we end up with wrong conclusions, we get our feelings hurt, and then we leave.

And the enemy wins.

We have these moments where people are really good.

Maybe this is you.

You you know some people that can just find the fault in everybody else.

You don't have to point at anybody, you don't have to look at the person next to you, just stay straight ahead.

They can find something wrong in everybody else.

Oh.

Actually, no, I'm going on vacation.

Give me a week and then I'll be available for marriage counseling.

But they never stop to say, man, what's wrong with me?

Like I was watching something the other day and I thought it was so good.

This guy was talking, and he said, You know, when people frustrate me, when people irritate me, when people don't perform the way I want, I've stopped expecting them to change and I've started asking what's wrong with me.

That they're not responsible to conform to make me happy.

I should begin to recognize what is it about me that that God needs to work on, so that no matter what they Do I don't have to be moved by them?

That's how we find a calm, well-balanced mind.

Because people may have opinions, people may have thoughts, they may have things they like or don't like.

Those things don't move me anymore.

I'm a recovering people pleaser.

There's just a handful left in my life.

Those ones probably won't change.

My wife's opinion, my kids' opinion, Jesus' opinion, and then they just kind of disappear after that for me.

And so the challenge for me, for you, is to think, man, how do we let our feelings go?

How do we submit our feelings and submit our thoughts and take those things captive and surrender them to Jesus?

For some of us, that might be one of the greatest steps of freedom in your life if we could do that.

Here's what I know.

I've told people this as a pastor.

One of the things the enemy cannot do, I said this a week or two ago.

I feel like I need to say it again in this space.

The enemy cannot defeat the truth of God.

So what he will do is try to discredit the person of God or the work of God.

Every time.

You're like, I don't believe it.

Go read the entire Bible.

Everywhere we're in the Old Testament right now, every prophet that was speaking a word of God, everybody else that was a false prophet was doing all they could to discredit the man of God who was preaching the word of God.

Every king that was taking steps to follow God, everybody did what they could to discredit the man of God who was pursuing God because they understand they can't defeat the truth of God.

So I've got to discredit the person that's doing his work, or I've got to discredit the work that God's doing.

And that's why we have to take every thought captive, take every feeling captive, submit it to Jesus, and then trust him.

Let's keep going.

Back to 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy 1:7.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

And we're back to this calm, well-balanced mind and self-control.

A saved mind is a controlled mind.

A saved mind is a controlled mind.

Your thoughts shouldn't control you.

You should take them captive.

Your feelings shouldn't control you.

You should take them captive.

Submit them to Jesus, and there should be one person in control of your life.

Jesus.

We live in a world though, and all you do is scroll social media for about 30 seconds, or watch the news for about a minute or two.

All that's out there.

There's two things they have found that sells sex, and they've actually found something that sells better than that, and that's anger.

If I can make you mad at somebody, all you gotta do, spend about 30 seconds right now, and all we can see are two things on social media that I just keep blowing up over and over again.

A mother that's on trial and three kids that were killed, and everybody's fighting over who's yes, no, and on both sides of it.

Or everybody's sharing the mess out of this dumb documentary on Netflix right now about a pastor and his wife and what he did to her.

And we're all worked up over these moments.

Nobody wants to share the thousands of other pastors that are living a great life and crushing it at home.

We pick one guy that's a terrible example and we'll make a Netflix series out of him.

Somebody asked me the other day, have you watched that?

Like, I got no desire to, man.

The guy's an idiot.

He shouldn't have been a pastor.

Nobody should have been following him.

You guys say, Man, can you say that?

I just did.

If I ever act like that, you should leave this church and run out as fast as you can and don't look back.

We let our feelings just snatch reactions out of us left and right.

A saved mind is a controlled mind.

And people all the time that you make me so angry.

And you listen, people will manipulate and control you if they can get to your emotions every time.

You hurt me.

They'll manipulate and control you every time.

Do you think you're just cold and callous?

No.

But I'm just saying I don't give people the ability to make me mad anymore.

I'm in control.

Not my feelings.

And the enemy wins.

When we let our thoughts and our feelings run out of control.

You know what God wants?

The Christian thinking should be to walk by faith.

Floods may come.

Life crises may happen in my life, but I'm gonna walk by faith and trust God even in the middle of this moment.

And some of you are like, man, it must be easy to be you.

I can't do that.

I could tell you some stories.

It's not easy, but it's good.

And I've learned walking by faith is way better than walking by trusting Jason.

That somewhere along the way, the controlled mind should be one that trusts in God in hard moments.

That when God doesn't answer a prayer the way you think he should, it might actually be a good thing that God didn't give you what you wanted.

That the controlled mind can learn to trust God, can learn to put faith in God, that can learn when the storms are raging.

Philippians 4, 7 is also true that the peace of God that passes all understanding can guard my heart and guard my mind while the world rages around me.

Which means my financial world can fall apart, my car can break down, that doctor's diagnosis can come in, and my bank account can be empty, and I can still be at peace because I know that he is with me, and he will never fail me, and he will never let me down, and it may not be the way I want, it may not be the answers I want.

He's good and he loves me, and if those things are true, then I can trust him.

Satan likes to twist us up, make us selfish, get us into self-destructive thought patterns.

Some of us, he likes to get us into a scarcity mindset.

Like where we think we gotta hoard everything because one day we might run out.

Y'all know what I'm talking about.

COVID hit, and what's the one thing that flew off the shelves?

What the heck is that?

Why?

Because we got scared.

Scared of what?

Not having toilet paper, apparently.

And so we just buy up everything.

Why?

We get scared.

Scarcity mindset.

I can't be generous and trust God with my finances because I'm afraid I won't have enough to go around.

And so I just hold on to my money tighter instead of trusting God and being generous when scripture tells us that He blesses those who are generous, and the cup of the generous will overflow.

People are like, Man, if God would just give me more, I would give more.

And God's like, if you would just give more, I could trust you with more.

Salvation is meant to shape the way we think, it's meant to set us free in every facet of our life.

And in today's world, one of the greatest places the enemy holds us captive is right here.

One of the greatest places you're unfruitful is what's happening right here.

Maybe for some of us here today, growing in our relationship with God is a struggle because the enemy's holding us captive right here.

I just can't unscripture, understand scripture.

It's too hard.

I'm not a reader.

Uh take your pick.

He's got you, man.

Maybe your marriage is struggling because somewhere here you're stuck in a negative spot or a past experience, and it's hard to figure out how to forgive and move forward.

You're stuck at a spot where what's in it for me, when we forget that once we get married, it's no longer about me, it's about we and it's about serving one another.

These spaces and places in our mind, for some of us, we tie value to our output and we believe I gotta perform right for God to love me.

I gotta read my Bible, I gotta pray, I gotta show up for church.

And if I would have just done those things, maybe God would have done something different in my life.

God doesn't need you to output the right things in your life to find you valuable.

He died and saved you because you are valuable, and we do those things because of the relationship we have, not to earn something from him.

For some of us, the enemy gets us right here because we confuse guilt and conviction with condemnation.

Listen, conviction for sinning is a good thing if it drives us to repentance and turning away from it and following Jesus.

Which means we need somebody who would speak the truth of God so that it would convict our souls and take us away from something that's destroying us.

But the problem is we let condemnation set in, and instead of confessing my sin and surrendering it, we make it my identity.

I'm just a failure.

No, you failed.

Two different things.

Don't take your sin on as your identity.

That's condemnation.

You are not defined by your sin.

You are defined by the cross of Jesus Christ, by the blood that He poured out, and the perfection that he covered you with.

You are a son and daughter of the Most High King.

You are free.

Think like a free son.

Think like a free daughter.

All across this place, let's stand.

I gotta wrap up.

Here's what I know, man.

This helmet for some of us, man.

It comes back to this.

Some of us just need to put the helmet of salvation on today.

And go live with it.

You know, I learned a real lesson from somebody once.

I had a friend who may have drove a little too fast on a motorcycle.

And he laid that thing down.

And everywhere from about here down looked like hamburger when I went to go see him in the hospital because he was riding in shorts and a tank top when he did it.

Mistake.

But you want to know why he walked away from that.

Man, here's the thing.

Some of us, I'm just gonna tell you now, you're gonna lay the bike down.

You're gonna fail.

And I need you to hear this.

Jesus already anticipated it.

And he didn't just die for every past sin that you committed, he died for every future sin you're gonna commit too.

I tell this to people all the time.

The difference between somebody who is saved and who isn't saved isn't that I get it perfect.

It's just that the saved person has learned when I sin and fall down, I get back up and run to Jesus.

And everybody that's not just wants to run from him because I messed up.

The beauty of when we really understand who Jesus is, when we've got the helmet of salvation on, is I finally learned I don't have to run from him, that I run to him when I mess up.

And he's waiting with open arms.

But you got to keep the helmet on.

With every head bowed and every eye closed, maybe you're here today.

I just want to do this.

I feel it in my spirit.

Maybe you're here today and you've never surrendered your life to Jesus before.

Maybe you're sitting there today and you're like, man, I feel that conviction that you're talking about, that stirring inside of me.

I want to surrender my life to Jesus.

I want to know what it's like to have eternal life.

Hey, I got good news for you.

Today can be that day.

You don't have to walk out of here the same as you came in.

You don't have to walk in bound up, weighed down, feeling like you can't win.

That today, if you would just say, I want to surrender my life to Jesus, make him Lord of my life, he would forgive you, he would wipe the sleek clean, and he would begin to do some incredible things in your life.

So if you're here in this place, maybe you have never made that decision to surrender your life to Jesus and follow him, but today you want to do that.

If that's you, would you just slip your hand up so that I could pray with you?

I see your hand.

Who else?

See your hand.

Here's what we're gonna do.

I want all of us to pray together.

Can we do that?

I don't think there's anything wrong with this prayer.

I think there's something powerful that happens when we say it out loud.

Can we all just join in prayer together?

Say, dear Jesus, I need you to come into my life, to forgive me of my sins and make me brand new.

I put you in charge.

I'm done of being in control.

I'm gonna live for you.

Jesus, help me to love you and help me live for you and help me run to you when I mess up.

In Jesus' name, amen.

It's the beauty of the good news of Jesus.

You're brand new today.

What do I do from here?

Keep running to Jesus.

What about when I mess up?

Man, I can promise you, the moment you walk out the door, the enemy's gonna start trying.

And my thing that I'll tell you every time is get back up when you do and run to Jesus.

Don't run from him.

If you want a real head start, surround yourself with some other people that love Jesus and they'll help you keep growing too.

We're gonna sing a song, and it here's what I want to do during this moment.

If you need prayer for anything, here would be the temptation for some of us in here today as we sing.

Maybe you're going through something in your life.

And man, it's eaten your mind up.

It's eaten your soul up.

The idea of a calm mind that's controlled is absent right now because of circumstances in your life.

If that's you at all, here's what I would encourage you to do.

As we're singing this song, come down and let somebody pray with you.

If you're like, I don't even know if I want to tell them, cool, just come down and say, hey, I need prayer, and that's all you got to say.

The Lord knows what you need and he'll take care of you.

But don't stay trapped.

Take those thoughts captive, take those feelings captive, take this moment captive, come surrender it to Jesus and let him work in your life.
