Who is this? A Wisdom Bible church?
-
The Church of a distant Christian narration.
-
We thank God for His great grace that has brought us to this
-
dining table again. I pray that the Lord will
-
satisfy our anger. It will satisfy our tests in the
-
name of Jesus. Now, how to generate passion was
-
the last subtopic we studied and we're still going to continue in
-
the same light. However, it's important that we
-
refresh our mind or readdress our mind to the key issues that
-
were highlighted when we had the last session.
-
So in that last session, we listed discovery of purpose as
-
the first step to generate passion.
-
Discovery of purpose and I do the correlation between vision
-
and purpose that they could be used interchangeably.
-
When your purpose is tangible, then it becomes your vision.
-
Press the name of the book and then we pick on the patriarch
-
Father Jacob for a key study. We study the transition of Jacob
-
from a man who was responding to provocation to a man who
-
eventually pursued purpose in life.
-
We examine his transition from a man who was an apron around the
-
waist of his mother but who eventually discovered purpose
-
and by that he was able to gain the needed strength to stand on
-
his own feet when he was in the family house together with his
-
brother. You will discover that
-
everything about him and whatever he does, whenever his
-
own ideas, they were always the ideas suggested to him by the
-
mother. And because he has not attained
-
the maturity level to be able to separates the SAT from the
-
wheat, even the lung cancer of the murder, he followed it.
-
And so when he left home, he left without a personal road
-
map, he left without a personal map, he left home unprepared.
-
But thank God that along the line when he slept over in the
-
wilderness, he had an encounter, and that encounter change the
-
course of his destiny. I pray that as you listen to me
-
this morning, you will encounter God in a special way.
-
You will encounter God in a manner that will provoke the
-
pursuit of purpose, purpose that has eternal value, purpose that
-
bless destinies in the name of Jesus.
-
So we therefore navigated between Genesis chapter 27 and
Genesis 27 chapter mention
-
Genesis chapter 29. From there, we study His
Genesis 29 chapter mention
-
progress from where He left home by the instruction of his mother
-
in Genesis 27 to relocate to his uncle's place to escape the
-
anger of his brother that is jilted.
-
Then in chapter 28, we analyzed his encounter in the wilderness.
-
We are he caught the personal vision of angels descending and
-
ascending on a ladder. That is in chapter 28.
-
Then we come to chapter 29. We are after the encounter in
-
the wilderness. It demonstrated on common
-
passion. OK, In chapter 29 we found a
-
place where he met some shepherds when it was still ID.
-
No, with their cattle. No stay I do around the world
-
side waiting for men who will roll the stone before they could
-
water their animal. But when it got there, it
-
challenged them to their face that this is not the best of
-
time to rest. It is ideal.
-
The animals should be on the feet, still being fed.
-
So by reason of the vision he called OK, he can no longer
-
meddle with the company of Lizzie at art, Lizzie at an
-
fellow. So by himself a loom is
-
sequentially rolled the stone to assist a Rachel the water
-
animal. All of these were what we
-
employed to drive the teaching that when you have vision, when
-
you have purpose, that vision will help you to generate
-
passion. OK until he had that encounter.
-
He has to be pushed before you can do anything.
-
Press the name of the law now by reason of vision is now self
-
motivated to undertake destiny in the right direction.
-
I pray in the name of Jesus you will catch that right vision
-
that will make you to pursue destiny in the right direction
-
in the name of Jesus. Then in the course of that
-
study, we went on to identify 5 basic stimulants of purpose.
-
One information, 2 observation. Can you recollect?
-
Inspiration was the third one, then meditation, and then we
-
threw the cutting on irritation. Now observation, I mean
-
information. I mentioned that the natural
-
route to information is education and why the spiritual
-
route to it is revelation. Praise the name of the law.
-
Now to gain the information that can help you in destiny, the
-
natural part or routes you take is the part of education because
-
that lies in the natural realm. Why the spiritual route to it is
-
revelation then observation. I mentioned that observation
-
provide the cheapest access to education.
-
Observation provide the cheapest access to education because if
-
you practice observation responsibly, you will gain
-
wisdom. And I define wisdom as a form of
-
education. You don't pay school fees to
-
assess, especially if you know how to put your observation to a
-
good use. Inspiration it as the means by
-
which you get information that is not available in the natural
-
realm. To get information that is not
-
available in the natural realm, you engage inspiration and then
-
meditation is employed or used to process information.
-
Use it to process it inspiration and evil revelation into success
-
tools. That's why Moses admonished
-
Joshua. Don't let this book of the law
-
depart from you. Study it, then meditate on it,
-
and the end result when you follow that due process, OK, is
-
that you will have good success. OK, so it is by meditation that
-
you are able to process information, inspiration and
-
revelation into success too. Then irritation, I did mention
-
that when you employ irritation very well and positively, you
-
can turn your garbage to manure for brewing your cabbage.
-
Hope your mind is not well addressed to what we did in the
-
last session. Can we now proceed from there?
-
OK, so today by the grace of God, we will proceed to study
-
other steps or other experiences that was this a man to generate
-
passion. If we have spoken so much about
-
passion, how do you gain passion?
-
That's been the focus and the last study was dedicated to
-
discovery of purpose. When you discover purpose, you
-
are energized. It will create passion in you to
-
pursue your vision. So the number two thing is that
-
you must possess high taste for excellence.
-
You must possess a very high taste for excellence.
-
So that is next to purpose. Next to purpose, if you will
-
generate passion to pursue your destiny and make a good meaning
-
and make a positive impact in your one lifetime is to have
-
ideas for excellence. How do I mean by that?
-
I am talking about the ability to be total, the ability to be
-
thorough, the ability to handle assignment without leaving no
-
stone on tone. So ability to be thorough, the
-
ability to have your eyes on the best outcome in everything that
-
you do. That's excellence.
-
The ability in you, the driving you, the self motivation in you
-
to have your eyes on the best outcome.
-
When you talk about excellence you are talking about 0
-
Tolerance for failure. 0. Tolerance for failure in your
-
agenda. OK, if failure happen is an
-
accident, it's not part of what you program for.
-
It's not part of what your action or conduct deserves.
-
So conducting yourself in a way that you don't deserve failure,
-
that is excellence. Or if you are the lazy type, if
-
you are the carefree type, if you are the type that doesn't
-
give attention to details, if you are the type that is not
-
irritated by what is not good, what is not best, and then
-
certainly you have prepared for failure.
-
Am I talking to somebody? So excellence is about
-
dissatisfaction with average performance.
-
And that's what will make you thorough.
-
That's what will make you to have your eye on the best
-
outcome. Why?
-
Because you are dissatisfied with average performance.
-
OK. What you love to have is to
-
always be a top notch person in your career.
-
You want to be at the cutting edge.
-
Press the name of the law in your study.
-
You want to be at the cutting edge so you have 0 tolerance for
-
failure and then you are dissatisfied with average
-
performance. Your eye is always on the best
-
outcome and of course it is where you love the best that you
-
will mobilize your potential to push for the best outcome.
-
If you don't have the spirit of excellence, your potential will
-
life follow on tapped on use press the name of the law.
-
But where you have the spirit of excellence, OK, you will be
-
motivated to mobilize your potential to push for the best
-
outcome. So having a mindset of pursuing
-
excellence in life is very key to having passion to pursue
-
purpose #3 is selfless spirit of love for the well-being of
-
others. Is selfless spirit of love for
-
the well-being of others? If you are the type that is
-
concerned about only you, you may not be able to achieve much
-
in life. Hello, If you are a
-
self-centered person, OK, Passion will not be there for
-
you to be a blessing to others. And of course, when you check
-
the pyramid of sources, you know what a pyramid is.
-
Hello Church. You know what a pyramid is At
-
the base of a pyramid, OK, you can accommodate so many people,
-
but as you travel up the pyramid, the space is getting
-
narrower. So in the pyramid of success,
-
you will find those that want everything done for them at the
-
base. Hello.
-
So on the scale of success in the gradient of success, those
-
that want everything to be done for them by others will always
-
be at the base, then those that are doing their best for
-
themselves at the middle. So if you draw a triangle OK and
-
you divide it into 3 portion, you will discover that the base
-
is large. It can accommodate.
-
If you are putting a content into it into the space, it's
-
going to accommodate more than. As you grow up, you discover
-
that the second segment, OK, is smaller than the first segment
-
at the base. Then as you travel up the
-
gradient, it become very narrower.
-
That may be even difficult for just one person to stand at the
-
top. Praise the name of the Lord, OK.
-
It's very difficult for even just one person to stop at the
-
top and be articularly wrong. Now I am now saying that when
-
you relate that to how people are classified on the scale or
-
gradient of sources, the people you will find at the base will
-
be so many. And the characteristics that
-
they will have in common is that they are sets of people that
-
enjoy people doing things for them to enjoy, their parents
-
doing things for them to enjoy, their uncle doing things for
-
them to enjoy, their friends doing things for them to enjoy,
-
their government doing everything for them to enjoy.
-
They are never a contributing factor to collective progress.
-
So those are the people you find at the base.
-
Then when you get to the second segment in the pyramid, on the
-
pyramid you find those that are doing their best for them say
-
they will occupy the middle class.
-
My career, my family, my study, my children.
-
You know they will occupy the middle class.
-
They are doing their best, but the best they are doing is about
-
them. But if you are going to have
-
passion, OK. For collective good for
-
community, good for impact in your generation, you must move
-
beyond that level. And what will enable you to move
-
beyond that level is what I call the selfless spirit of love for
-
the well-being of others. So those that are searching
-
themselves for the good of others are those will find at
-
the top. Tell yourself my place is at the
-
top. I can't hear you say it louder.
-
So the people you will find at the top are those that are
-
searching themselves for the good of others.
-
And what is common with them is that they possess the selfless
-
spirit of love for the well-being of others.
-
And then the last that we agree to look at, which will also take
-
us to the Scripture, the key scripture for today is
-
patriotism, is closely related to the one I just discussed,
-
patriotism. Possessing the patriotic spirit
-
will help you to attain the senior most level of selfless
-
living. The senior most level of
-
selfless living. When you have the patriotic
-
spirit. What actually is patriotism?
-
In our contest, it is about extending your service beyond
-
your immediate family and other familial circle.
-
You know, I did mention that when you have this selfless
-
spirits, you want to do things for others, but it could still
-
be in a limited way if it does not enter the patriotic
-
dimension. By the time your selflessness
-
enter the patriotic dimension, you will be useful beyond your
-
family. In fact, you are going to be
-
useful beyond your local church. You are going to be useful even
-
beyond the circle of the body of Christ.
-
Am I talking to somebody? So patriotism is about extending
-
your service, extending your goodness, extending your
-
generosity, applying your potential for the good of others
-
beyond your immediate family and other familiar circles, such as
-
my friend, my colleague at work. No, patriotism goes beyond that.
-
Patriotism is about touching lives beyond bloodline and
-
clannish interests. Some of you can be very
-
wonderful attending to the extended family.
-
So people can be very wonderful when it comes to their
-
community, OK, the cultural setting of their hometown, the
-
cultural setting of their state of origin.
-
But when we're talking about patriotism, you are touching
-
lives beyond bloodline and clannies interests.
-
I put 2 examples to you the sectarian that we have in new
-
Chapter 7. It was celebrated by the elders
-
among the Jewish people for building a temple for the Jews
-
when himself was not a Jew. Hello, that and that's why I
-
described patriotism as an extension of selflessness that
-
goes beyond your immediate environment, beyond bloodline
-
and Clannis interests. The second example is the Good
-
Samaritan. He was on a journey.
-
He met a man that was attacked by bandits.
-
He was left for dead. He will have pleaded to death.
-
OK, in summary time then he met a Jew that was wounded by
-
bandits and he crossed the border of tribal segregation to
-
attend to the wounded person, whereas a priest at Halya met
-
him and did nothing. Somebody who is a priest also
-
possessed some level of passion for doing good, but his own kind
-
of good is limited to his religious circle.
-
So he's been good as not enter the patriotic dimension that is
-
beyond bloodline and clannish interests.
-
Then a Levites also came and every Levite is a potential
-
priest. Do you know that he also came by
-
past the man, maybe even pray God bless you.
-
Go India take over when it was when I was to do something.
-
Are you with me? But it's a maritime came and
-
picked him up paid for his medical medical bill.
-
In fact he gave them extra and he said even when you need more
-
write it OK. If it were in the mother time,
-
his own personal family medical is it card or they call it OK,
-
He said use it and credit it to me.
-
So that's Good Samaritan was not a religious leader, but it was
-
compassionate. It was what compassionate to me.
-
What loyalty is to a person or to a leadership figure is what
-
patriotism is to a system or to an institution, even to a
-
nation. You know, in other words, you
-
deploy loyalty for the service of an individual, but patriotism
-
is for the service of a system, of an institution, and it could
-
even be a nation. And so you're seeking the code
-
of the system. It's not about whether you like
-
the leader or you don't like the leader.
-
Am I talking to somebody? So when you give up on your
-
country and you don't play a game for your country and you
-
don't wish your country very well, the problem you have is
-
the problem of patriotism. It's not the problem of the bad
-
leaders. Am I talking to somebody?
-
Because loyalty is to a person. But patriotism, OK, transcend
-
the person. Patriotism is about love, it's
-
about interest, it's about sacrifice, it's about seeking
-
the well-being of a system, institution and even your
-
nation. And that's why I'm saying if
-
because you are bad leaders in your country is the reason you
-
give up on your country, the party, that's not the problem.
-
Your own problem is the problem of absence of the spirit of
-
patriotism. Because by reason of patriotism,
-
you will love the system, you will work for the good of an
-
institution including your nation, irrespective of which
-
party is ruling the country. Hello.
-
Do you know that there are people who wish any government
-
to fail once it is not their own party that formed the
-
government? AM I talking to somebody?
-
There's no way you can have a good country with a kind of
-
attitude. So what?
-
Loyalty is to a person, So you give loyalty to a person.
-
What you give to your country, what you give to your church,
-
what you give to your family as an institution is patriotism and
-
once it is there, you will seek the code of that system.
-
Luke Chapter 7. I read the first 5 verses as we
Luke 7 chapter mention
-
wind down on this topic. Now when he had ended all he's
-
saying in the ordinance of the people, he entered into Capano,
-
and a certain ceturial servant who was there unto him was sick
-
and ready to die. Now in certain ceturium, his
-
servant was sick and ready to die and this man decided to
-
attend to him the way we attend to his own biological child.
-
That is selflessness at a level. Are we together?
-
He doesn't have the attitude that my people call Amario Baku.
-
So he went all out to seek for the best medical solution, which
-
was a spiritual one in that era that wherever this miracle walk
-
in, Jesus was, OK, I will carry my servant there because my
-
servant is very dear to me. He didn't say after all, I hire
-
him, I can always hire any other one.
-
And don't forget it was a sartorial, a military officer.
-
So you can easily discard any servant and have another one.
-
Are you with me? But I said, this one is so dear
-
to me, so selfless spirit. When you have it, there will be
-
passion to do good. The absence of passion to do
-
good is because you are selfish. If you are selfless, the passion
-
will be there to do good. And when the heart of Jesus, he
-
sent unto him the elders of the Jews decision that Jesus will
-
come and heal his servants. Then from verse 4 when I
-
discover another aspect of him that it was not only selfless
-
towards people, He was also patriotic to the nation and that
-
nation was not his own place of origin.
-
Being a sectarian means it was a Roman soldier living in
-
Jerusalem and he was seeking the good of Jerusalem.
-
Let's read what he did and why the headers of the Jews decided
-
to say or compel Jesus to favor him, and I tend to his request.
-
Verse 4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him
-
instantly, saying that it was worthy.
-
For whom is to do this? The elders of the Jews were not
-
advocating for him before Jesus. That this man the request is
-
putting before you is a request that must be attended to.
-
It was worthy that this should be done for him.
-
Oh yeah, nearly Tia Bashi, if now when you talk to people for
-
help, do they consider you worthy of the help?
-
Your past three, your past Condor the way you are related
-
with the people you are approaching all all that's
-
before. Does it make you deserving of
-
the kind of help you also need? You want no joker by time I told
-
you you're kind of lunar lower. Am I talking to somebody?
-
So it was not this man, OK, that was throwing himself around and
-
telling story that I am good. It was the elders of you that
-
said this man is what is good. Can people testify that you are
-
good? Now what made them to reach that
-
conclusion about him? Verse 5 for he loveth our nation
-
selflessness that transcend bloodline and clannies
-
interests. He loveth our nation.
-
I put the question to you, do you love your nation?
-
Do you love your nation and he build us a synagogue patriotism.
-
Then the second example, Luke chapter 10, 8 verses is what
Luke 10 chapter mention
-
we're going to examine there from verse 30 through 37 and
-
Jesus answering saying his settlement went down from
-
Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves which stripped him
-
of his women and wounded him and departed, leaving him half day.
-
And by chance when by chance you come across a man that needs
-
help, what do you do? And by chance, because people
-
who will make a demand or you for help, OK, will not
-
ordinarily fall into your plan. Hello.
-
They will not ordinarily fall into your budget.
-
People who seek help, OK, They come in as disruption to your
-
budget. So I'm a principal person.
-
No, I can't alter my budget. Then you are not a good person.
-
I know that there are people who by their carelessness, OK, they
-
want you to be responsible for their carelessness.
-
I'm not talking about those people.
-
But generally speaking, OK, the rendering app is always about
-
all. You have to alter your own
-
personal plan. You have to sacrifice your own
-
comforts. Am I talking to somebody?
-
So it was by chance, not the way they plan it.
-
So the priest had a schedule meeting, OK, And already waiting
-
for him and he must not miss it. Maybe it was even a council
-
meeting. Maybe it was to even perform a
-
religious ceremony. But by chance there came down a
-
certain priest that way, and when he saw him, he passed by on
-
the other side. He passed by on the other side.
-
And likewise in Levites, when he was at a place, came and looked
-
on him and also passed by on the other side.
-
But he's setting Samaritan, He's setting Samaritan.
-
Don't let it be safe that unbelievers are better than you
-
are doing good. Don't let it be said in your
-
community. Don't let it be said in your
-
neighborhood that your own believers, OK, that you share
-
your neighborhood with, OK, have a record of being better than
-
you are doing good. Because that is the scenario
-
here. The priest use a contemporary
-
church language. The pastor maybe the general of
-
a share. He has the capacity and control
-
of resources to render and he deny the head.
-
Then the Levites, the Dickens and the child they follow after
-
the lifestyle of the general of a share also deny people head.
-
Then he stuck unbeliever that could consider on save he had
-
compassion. A Samaritan is setting one as a
-
journey came where the world and when he saw him he had
-
compassion on him. I will close this discussion by
-
giving you a special definition for compassion as it's related
-
to passion. They started for and he went to
-
him. The other one passed by the
-
other side. In fact they were on the side
-
before, but the moment they spotted him, they defeated but
-
this one went to him. You know that somebody has a
-
need. I say I didn't do it because he
-
didn't ask. So don't let it be that it is
-
only the help that were asked for that you give.
-
Also respond to the help that you discover.
-
I can never forget what I should go there Amola in my life, my
-
years in the university, one particular time I had nothing
-
again on me. Nothing again on me for going
-
for like 24 hours without fasting.
-
OK, all I had with me, I think it was 1 error.
-
You know, our course is now so bastardized that you may not be
-
able to fix it properly now. OK.
-
But that amount I had on me was sufficient to buy just a wrap of
-
sweets. OK.
-
And I went, I bought that wrap of sweets and I leak it so that
-
at least there'll be some glucose semi system.
-
Then by the time the day will break, after I finished praying,
-
I had a knock on my door. And I hope yes, Gary and some
-
other thing. And I said, Prashek, what's the
-
situation? He said he went to Zion.
-
It's like every academic environment has a Zion.
-
He said he went to Zion to pray and as he started praying the
-
Holy Ghost said to him this is not the time to be praying.
-
OK, my son OK, but I would like to come to the university.
-
OK needed help and he went back to his room and took from all
-
sorts of stuff from his own food store and brought to me and he
-
met my It was not a help that I went to ask for for the Holy
-
Spirit minister to him. Go ahead.
-
And he went to him and bound up his wound, pouring in oil and
-
wine and set him on his own beast.
-
Now the oil and the wine, when he set out OK, he didn't meant
-
to use it to attend to a wounded person.
-
Maybe it's for a complete different, different purpose.
-
And set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and
-
took care of him, and on the model when he departed.
-
So when he brought him to an end, he discontinued his own
-
journey to stay with him. He took out two pens and gave
-
them to the horse, and said unto him, Take care of him.
-
And whatsoever does spend, there's more.
-
When I come again I will repeat the week.
-
Now of these three thinkers. That was neighbor unto him that
-
fell among the thieves. And he said, he does sweat mercy
-
on him. Then he said, then set Jesus
-
unto him, go and do thou likewise.
-
And so let's wrap it up this way.
-
What motivated this man to do what he did was the spirit of
-
compassion. And perhaps you don't know
-
compassion means compound or community passion.
-
Compound or words. Community passion.
-
The one that is motivated or generated by patriotism, where
-
you seek the good of others beyond bloodline, religious or
-
clannish interests. It is the form of passion that
-
is deployed for the generality of the people, starting with
-
your neighbors, that needs your head and not just for the
-
pursuit of personal ambition. And so this is the conclusion of
-
the matter on passion for impact.
-
It should not just be about passion to pursue only your
-
personal ambition. Factor in compassion which I
-
describe as compound or community passion that will make
-
you seek the good of others. God bless you and grant you
-
grace to put this message to a good use for the good of people
-
and to the glory of Gods of God in Jesus name.
-
Hallelujah. Don't be left in the dark.
-
Get proper understanding of life through the Word of God.
-
My people perish for lack of knowledge.
-
The Word of God is an illumination which gives
-
direction. Remain placed as reverend as far
-
and illuminates your mind with the Word of God with all
-
simplicity and clarity.
