Don't be left in the dark. Get proper understanding of life

through the Word of God. My people perish for lack of
-
knowledge. The Word of God is an
-
illumination which gives direction.
-
Remain placed as Reverend was far alone.
-
Illuminates your mind with the Word of God with all simplicity
-
and clarity. Last week we started to study or
-
glean lessons from biblical characters on friendship.
-
So the topic has been lessons on friendship, and we're learning
-
the principle of clothing to climb.
-
You unite, you relate. You keep complaining that
-
together you make progress. That's what is intended by the
-
coinage clubbing to climb. And we started to prove into
-
what to look for in the potential frame.
-
And for it starts, we mention substance.
-
I like the fact that great friendship must be characterized
-
by mutual reciprocation and not service expectation.
-
Lots of people go into friendship with selfish
-
expectation as a gain, mutual reciprocation of love, of
-
respect, of kindness, even of charity.
-
So friendship should be a symbiotic relationship.
-
Now that word symbiotic is a common biological term where
-
relationship is mutual and of course the benefit is not just
-
one sided. So friendship to be a symbiotic
-
relationship built on contribution from both ends and
-
not a parasitic relationship where contribution is limited to
-
only one side and consumption is tilted to just one side.
-
So it is expected that friendship when is going to be
-
ideal, proper and of course last and satisfied both the spiritual
-
and social purpose of keeping company.
-
It must be symbiotic, and by that I mean that contribution
-
should be from both end. It must not be a parasitic where
-
one is draining the other. So contribution must not be
-
limited to only one side and consumption must not be treated
-
to just one side. And of course, this is
-
essentially the reason every potential friend should come
-
into friendship with the reasonable mayor of substance.
-
You know, we're probing to what to look for or look out for
-
before you choose a relationship or you stay in a relationship.
-
So and of course, we clarified already that substance, where
-
we'll use the term substance, it transcend material resources,
-
OK. It's about being resourceful.
-
It's about being resourceful. And we for our character study,
-
we studied the example of David and Jonathan.
-
Are you coming abreast with what we did last week?
-
So, we studied the example of David and Jonathan from their
-
friendship. We noted that both of them were
-
men of substance in their own right despite belonging to
-
different social background. Jonathan was of royalty, David
-
was coming from a peace and background.
-
So whereas David was not from a royalty background, he was still
-
not an empty gold digger in the relationship.
-
He was still capable of contributing substantially to
-
the relationship. So they did not come to the
-
palace with weight or weapons. Nevertheless, it came with both
-
kinetic and non kinetic scheme and I will explain one.
-
It was a musician and of course it was a warrior.
-
So it's non kinetic scheme, which is his skill in music.
-
You know, it's not a forceful kind of scheme.
-
That's why I described it as non kinetic scheme.
-
It was that non kinetic scheme of knowing how to play the hap
-
very well in such a way that you can inspire the Spirit of God
-
and also make deliverance to happen.
-
So it was that skill that introduced him into the palace
-
with the hap. Then not only that, he also
-
asked the connective skill of Potentia, OK, And that
-
introduced him for a second time in the palace with the head of
-
Boulayas, praise the name of the Lord.
-
So his ability to fight war, the potential to fight war, OK, the
-
Goliath that every warrior, all the generals in the army
-
obviously were running away from, he confronted Goliath and
-
it came to the palace with the evidence that it was the one
-
that killed Goliath. And I said to you that the CD
-
you are building today, the certificates you are acquiring,
-
this key that you are acquiring is your own head of Goliath.
-
One day it will be needed. I pray in the name of Jesus that
-
your potential will not go into a waste in the name of Jesus.
-
So for somewhere chapter 16 so from there we saw how is non
-
kinetic ski of music force introducing into the palace for
-
some I succeed. I read from verse 14 But the
-
spirit of the Lord, the spirit of the Lord departed from soul,
-
and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.
-
And Saul servant said to him, build now an evil spirit from
-
God troubled thee. Let our Lord now command thy
-
servants which are before thee to seek out a man who is a corny
-
player on an app. Now that skill is what I call
-
non kinetic skill and it shall come to pass when the evil split
-
from God is upon thee. That is a play with his hand and
-
thou shall be well. It was a soft skill, but very
-
strong in effect. Praise the name of the Lord.
-
And Saul said unto his servant, Provide me now a man that can
-
play well, and bring him to me. Not a man that can just play,
-
but a man that can play well. Please, whatever is your skill,
-
learn how to use it well. Am I talking to somebody?
-
So they don't, they didn't just leave.
-
Just anybody that can play, it is somebody that can play well.
-
So if you are singing, singing well, if you are drumming, drum
-
well, OK. If you are an athlete, be good
-
at it. Praise the name of the Lord.
-
So be excellent in all that you do.
-
One day, one day it will introduce you to the palace.
-
One day, one day it will end you the truth so and so said of the
-
servant. Provide me not a man that can
-
play well, and bring him to me. Then answer one of the servant,
-
and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite.
-
That is corny, not a word. That is skillful, that is
-
excellent in playing. And the mighty villain man.
-
Can you see how the two combined in just one man?
-
OK, The soft non kinetic skill of playing well.
-
OK and the strong kinetic skill of fighting well.
-
And a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in
-
matters. So in other words, a maridos
-
skill with wisdom to manage them.
-
Prudent in matters. Many of you are skillful, but
-
you are not wise. And so your potential is going
-
into a waste. Many of you are skillful, but
-
you don't know how to explore the financial side of your
-
skill. Praise the name of the Lord.
-
You are so good, but you are not making fortunes because you are
-
not prudent and a comely person and the Lord is within.
-
That is very important. That's very important.
-
During the second service. I'm going to be speaking on
-
that, Very important. A number of people have had
-
messages about purpose and the usefulness of purpose.
-
OK in fulfilling destiny. OK, And yet they have discovered
-
purpose and they are not making ends meet.
-
Why? Because they understand divine
-
purpose, but they lack divine presence.
-
Understanding divine purpose and running to pursue your divine
-
purpose. Without divine presence we still
-
amount to nothing. Am I talking to somebody?
-
So the reason David could amount to so much from his potential
-
was because he understood divine purpose.
-
He applied his potential and he had the divine presence.
-
These three things are very key. You have the potential, you must
-
apply the potential to a purpose, but with the support of
-
the divine presence of God. The liberals labour in faith
-
when God is absent from the efforts.
-
Am I talking to somebody verse what now verse 19 wherefore
-
source sent messenger on to GC and said send me David a song
-
which is with the sheep and as they will return from the
-
slaughter of the Phillies time now let's now go to chapter 17.
-
It's from there, we are now going to see where he applied
-
the Kinect is key of being able to fight war and as they return
-
from the slaughter of the Philistine have not took him and
-
brought him before soul with the head of the Philistine in his
-
hand one day. OK, you have the connection, the
-
head of Philistine will be requested.
-
What have you done in the past? What exploits?
-
OK, have you done in the past will be requested.
-
What are you? Have you been building your CV
-
for the fighter day when the expected and unexpected
-
opportunity we arrive. Praise the name of the Lord,
-
Praise the name of the Lord. And so these were the things we
-
did last week and have expanded on today.
-
We are still going to push further on these two great
-
friends and if time permit us, we may take on another
-
character. So from the relationship of
-
Jonathan and David, we can classify friendship into two
-
types. One, there is the organic
-
friendship. During the reflection session
-
last week, I did mention that you don't force relationship
-
otherwise it will not work. It must be organic.
-
So there is organic friendship and then there is mechanical
-
friendship. What is the first category and
-
Sami Church the second category, mechanical friendship.
-
So friendship is achievable organically and it is equally
-
achievable mechanically. In other words, friendship do
-
evolve and friendship can be organized.
-
Hello, friendship do evolve and friendship can be words can be
-
organized. Even marriage which is a type of
-
friendship are we together? It can evolve organically and
-
sometimes it can be organized by matchmaking.
-
So the type that I evolve naturally is the one I describe
-
as organic type of relationship and the one that is organized is
-
the one that I described as mechanical kind of friendship.
-
But friendship is better when it is an organic relationship than
-
when it is a mechanical one. Do you agree?
-
Friendship, it works better when it's an organic relationship,
-
when you can hone the relationship.
-
It's not anybody that forced you into it is not anybody that
-
actually compel you or kajo you into it.
-
So an organic relationship is one that grows from natural law,
-
is the type that grow from neutral aspects.
-
It is not arranged with selfish interest or ulterior motive of
-
opportunism or exploitation. Part of the weakness of
-
mechanical kind of friendship is that more often than not,
-
there's always an ulterior motive behind it.
-
Sometimes the motive could be a kind of exploiting the other.
-
Most of the time you see opportunities going into
-
mechanical kind of friendship. So but for organic relationship
-
it grows from natural laws, it grows out of mutual respect,
-
appreciation. It is not far arranged with
-
service interests or ulterior motive of opportunities,
-
opportunism or exploitation. So a mechanical friendship on
-
the other hand is premeditatively arranged.
-
Organic relationship can be spontaneous.
-
Are we together? It can be spontaneous, but for
-
mechanical friendship it is premeditatively Irene and built
-
on self-centered expectation, self-centered expectation.
-
So, but the relationship we find between David and Jonathan can
-
fall easily into the organic kind of friendship because when
-
you consider these two guys, David and Jonathan ordinarily
-
and where you base your judgement on social
-
consideration, Jonathan will not descend low to have a shepherd
-
boy as his most intimate friend. You know, Jonathan was already a
-
Prince in the palace. David was a shepherd boy in the
-
in the wilderness. So ordinarily and where you base
-
your judgment on social consideration, Jonathan may not
-
want to descend. No, to have a shepherd boy as
-
his most intimate friend. Yet nobody can do him into
-
becoming an intimate friend to David.
-
And it was not David that made the first move, it was Jonathan
-
that made the first move to draw David to himself.
-
So it was an organic kind of friendship that evolved
-
naturally out of mutual love and respects.
-
So based on social consideration, Jonathan would
-
rather hire a David as his servant, maybe to keep the
-
palace animals and at most because he was a brilliant man.
-
Maybe as an Amor biara, because Jonathan himself was a fighter.
-
Praise the name of the Lord, maybe as an Amor biara.
-
So that is the best you expect if you base the judgment on
-
social conversation. But the very first day that
-
Jonathan met Devi, he responded organically to Davis Kill with
-
respect. That's why I said the best kind
-
of friendship is one that evolved organically because it
-
comes with mutual respect. His first response was not to
-
hire him as a bodyguard, A bouncer or hire him as somebody
-
who would keep the the family pets.
-
So it was not taken of Hayari Devi as a bodyguard.
-
Rather, you respected him as a national hero.
-
When he saw him carrying the head of Bulayat in his hand, you
-
respected him as a national hero worthy of his royal room.
-
We're going to read that scripture again.
-
We read it last week too. We are he had to remove his own
-
royal room, OK and place it on on Devi.
-
And also Debbie responded very well by winning more victory
-
over the Philistines. And already somebody that keep
-
Goliath should be fair. They should be able to kill
-
anybody, including King Saul. Am I talking to somebody?
-
But he also responded responsibly.
-
By winning more victories over the Philistine, without ever
-
contemplating mutiny, without ever contemplating overthrowing
-
concern, in spite of his power and popularity.
-
For Samuel 18. For Samuel 18, And it came to
-
pass when he had made an end of speaking.
-
Are you from verse one? And it came to pass when he had
-
made an end of speaking on to soul that the soul of Jonathan
-
was neat with the soul of Devi. I mentioned to you that
-
friendship is a relationship that has grown beyond handshake
-
to happen it. So the soul of Jonathan was made
-
with the soul of David and Jonathan loved him as his own
-
soul. Who persuaded Jonathan into that
-
relationship? Nobody, in spite of the fact
-
that socially he has David out. Yet there was disrespect that he
-
accorded David and Saul took him that day.
-
I will let him go no more home to his father's house.
-
Then Jonathan and David made the covenant because they love him
-
as own soul. We are going to see soon that
-
organic friendship. We start as contacts, not as
-
contracts, but a mechanical friendship.
-
We start as contracts and when the contracts end, the
-
relationship also end, the friendship will also be
-
dissolved. So as Saul took him that day, I
-
will not let him go no more home to his to his father's out that
-
verse 2 of chapter 18. Then Jonathan and David made the
-
covenant because in love him as his own soul.
-
So if we start as a contact, not as a contract, praise the name
-
of the Lord, and from there it will grow into a covenant.
-
Today you see ministers of the gospel use the word my covenant
-
friend carelessly. And the same brother he called
-
his covenant friend, he will backstab the brother.
-
And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him.
-
So he replaced his shepherd gown with the royal roof, and gave it
-
to David, and his garment even to his sword and to his bow, and
-
to his gadoo. That's fine.
-
And David went out. We are so ever saw something and
-
behave himself wisely, not rudely.
-
And Saab sent him over the men of war and he was accepted in
-
the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul Saban.
-
You see reciprocation. He never thought of mutiny.
-
He never thought of exploiting his power, his military prowess
-
and his popularity with the people to overthrow, to
-
overthrow king. So.
-
So we see reciprocation then after the death of Jonathan,
-
David also did not forget the household of Jonathan.
-
You know, eventually David rose to become the king and as he was
-
consolidating on the truth, as he was constituting his cabinet,
-
he remember his late friend and he brought his son on board.
-
The people said Second Samuel Chapter 9.
2 Samuel 9 chapter mention
-
I take those but one from there for time and they will say is
-
there yet any that is left of the hours of soul that I may
-
seem kindness for Jonathan's sake.
-
So, and I said the idea kind of friendship, the biblical kind of
-
friendship is a symbiotic kind of relationship where
-
contribution is from both end, not the situation whereby on one
-
end that is contribution on the other end, the only thing you
-
find is consumption. So when it was time for Devi to
-
also reciprocate in reciprocated.
-
Well, why? Because in by that spirit I
-
taught you few weeks ago, the spirit of indebtedness.
-
That spirit was actively at work in Devi.
-
He recognized the good that his friend Jonathan did to him as a
-
loan that must be paid back. So if you are going to be a good
-
friend, you will not take kindness as your entitlement,
-
You will take it as a loan. Hello.
-
Kindness that anybody does to you.
-
You won't take it as an entitlement.
-
You will take it what as a loan. That was the kind of spirit that
-
made David to also get to this one.
-
I said as I'm constitute my cabinet OK, the family of my
-
great friend Jonathan must be considered.
-
And he said is there any that is left of the household of soul
-
that has I mean seem kindness for Jonathan sake.
-
So he understood kindness as a law to be paid back.
-
So organic relationship like I said.
-
Must not end as a contract, it must continue as a covenant.
-
When you are into a relationship and issue came up and issue can
-
easily end relationship including marriage.
-
I suspect that that relationship, that friendship
-
OK, has not been able to grow from contact beyond contract to
-
a covenant level. Am I talking to somebody?
-
So organic friendship will always start as contacts.
-
It will grow into a transgenerational covenants.
-
And may I draw your attention to this?
-
Distance is never a barrier to an organic relationship.
-
Promotion is never a barrier to an organic relationship.
-
What do I mean by distance? It is possible you relocate OK,
-
and you are no longer together in the same geographical space.
-
It is not because your friend has located you.
-
Now begin to shop for another friend.
-
You will discard that even at a distance.
-
There will be more anger for yourself, more respect for each
-
other. So the center applied to
-
promotion. OK, you were friends together in
-
the secondary school and then suddenly one get to the
-
university, the other is not there.
-
And that is the relationship. It's either the one does not
-
understand the concept of organic relationship and then
-
became full of himself and he said I can't go along with you
-
again. Or the other one who has not
-
moved ahead became jealous of because of the priority complex
-
decide to disconnect. So not until you are able to
-
meet the two of them and study them critically, you may not be
-
able to know where to please the blame.
-
It could be one that has move ahead there.
-
You know, that felt like I'm I'm not too big for this kind of
-
relationship. It ought to be or sometimes it
-
could be the other one that is yet to move on that become
-
jealous or become so imperial and decide to to disconnect.
-
But for organic kind of relationship, the type that we
-
found between Jonathan and Debbie, it it eventually grew
-
from contact went beyond contract to a transgenerational
-
covenant. It became a transgenerational
-
covenant is the reason when David got to the truth, he
-
thought about his little friend and brought the son on board.
-
Am I talking to somebody? So if distance relocation or
-
promotion and your friendship, it was never a covenant
-
relationship that evolved organically.
-
Thank you Father for the help we have received again this morning
-
to bring your cancer to your people.
-
I ask, O Lord, that from this understanding you will help them
-
to build relationship and friendship that will fulfill
-
your purpose in the name of Jesus.
-
I pray in the name of Jesus, in your pursuit of purpose, the
-
divine presence will not be lacking in Jesus name.
-
God bless you. So next week we are going to
-
move to another example. If you are clap to clap it, well
-
it is for Jesus. Next week we are going to take
-
on the example of King David, King Iram and King Solomon.
-
King David, King Hiram and King Solomon.
-
Next week, Prince, the name of the Lord don't.
