  1. Don't be left in the dark. Get proper understanding of life

  2. through the Word of God. My people perish for lack of

  3. knowledge. The Word of God is an

  4. illumination which gives direction.

  5. Remain placed as Reverend was far alone.

  6. Illuminates your mind with the Word of God with all simplicity

  7. and clarity. Last week we started to study or

  8. glean lessons from biblical characters on friendship.

  9. So the topic has been lessons on friendship, and we're learning

  10. the principle of clothing to climb.

  11. You unite, you relate. You keep complaining that

  12. together you make progress. That's what is intended by the

  13. coinage clubbing to climb. And we started to prove into

  14. what to look for in the potential frame.

  15. And for it starts, we mention substance.

  16. I like the fact that great friendship must be characterized

  17. by mutual reciprocation and not service expectation.

  18. Lots of people go into friendship with selfish

  19. expectation as a gain, mutual reciprocation of love, of

  20. respect, of kindness, even of charity.

  21. So friendship should be a symbiotic relationship.

  22. Now that word symbiotic is a common biological term where

  23. relationship is mutual and of course the benefit is not just

  24. one sided. So friendship to be a symbiotic

  25. relationship built on contribution from both ends and

  26. not a parasitic relationship where contribution is limited to

  27. only one side and consumption is tilted to just one side.

  28. So it is expected that friendship when is going to be

  29. ideal, proper and of course last and satisfied both the spiritual

  30. and social purpose of keeping company.

  31. It must be symbiotic, and by that I mean that contribution

  32. should be from both end. It must not be a parasitic where

  33. one is draining the other. So contribution must not be

  34. limited to only one side and consumption must not be treated

  35. to just one side. And of course, this is

  36. essentially the reason every potential friend should come

  37. into friendship with the reasonable mayor of substance.

  38. You know, we're probing to what to look for or look out for

  39. before you choose a relationship or you stay in a relationship.

  40. So and of course, we clarified already that substance, where

  41. we'll use the term substance, it transcend material resources,

  42. OK. It's about being resourceful.

  43. It's about being resourceful. And we for our character study,

  44. we studied the example of David and Jonathan.

  45. Are you coming abreast with what we did last week?

  46. So, we studied the example of David and Jonathan from their

  47. friendship. We noted that both of them were

  48. men of substance in their own right despite belonging to

  49. different social background. Jonathan was of royalty, David

  50. was coming from a peace and background.

  51. So whereas David was not from a royalty background, he was still

  52. not an empty gold digger in the relationship.

  53. He was still capable of contributing substantially to

  54. the relationship. So they did not come to the

  55. palace with weight or weapons. Nevertheless, it came with both

  56. kinetic and non kinetic scheme and I will explain one.

  57. It was a musician and of course it was a warrior.

  58. So it's non kinetic scheme, which is his skill in music.

  59. You know, it's not a forceful kind of scheme.

  60. That's why I described it as non kinetic scheme.

  61. It was that non kinetic scheme of knowing how to play the hap

  62. very well in such a way that you can inspire the Spirit of God

  63. and also make deliverance to happen.

  64. So it was that skill that introduced him into the palace

  65. with the hap. Then not only that, he also

  66. asked the connective skill of Potentia, OK, And that

  67. introduced him for a second time in the palace with the head of

  68. Boulayas, praise the name of the Lord.

  69. So his ability to fight war, the potential to fight war, OK, the

  70. Goliath that every warrior, all the generals in the army

  71. obviously were running away from, he confronted Goliath and

  72. it came to the palace with the evidence that it was the one

  73. that killed Goliath. And I said to you that the CD

  74. you are building today, the certificates you are acquiring,

  75. this key that you are acquiring is your own head of Goliath.

  76. One day it will be needed. I pray in the name of Jesus that

  77. your potential will not go into a waste in the name of Jesus.

  78. So for somewhere chapter 16 so from there we saw how is non

  79. kinetic ski of music force introducing into the palace for

  80. some I succeed. I read from verse 14 But the

  81. spirit of the Lord, the spirit of the Lord departed from soul,

  82. and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.

  83. And Saul servant said to him, build now an evil spirit from

  84. God troubled thee. Let our Lord now command thy

  85. servants which are before thee to seek out a man who is a corny

  86. player on an app. Now that skill is what I call

  87. non kinetic skill and it shall come to pass when the evil split

  88. from God is upon thee. That is a play with his hand and

  89. thou shall be well. It was a soft skill, but very

  90. strong in effect. Praise the name of the Lord.

  91. And Saul said unto his servant, Provide me now a man that can

  92. play well, and bring him to me. Not a man that can just play,

  93. but a man that can play well. Please, whatever is your skill,

  94. learn how to use it well. Am I talking to somebody?

  95. So they don't, they didn't just leave.

  96. Just anybody that can play, it is somebody that can play well.

  97. So if you are singing, singing well, if you are drumming, drum

  98. well, OK. If you are an athlete, be good

  99. at it. Praise the name of the Lord.

  100. So be excellent in all that you do.

  101. One day, one day it will introduce you to the palace.

  102. One day, one day it will end you the truth so and so said of the

  103. servant. Provide me not a man that can

  104. play well, and bring him to me. Then answer one of the servant,

  105. and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite.

  106. That is corny, not a word. That is skillful, that is

  107. excellent in playing. And the mighty villain man.

  108. Can you see how the two combined in just one man?

  109. OK, The soft non kinetic skill of playing well.

  110. OK and the strong kinetic skill of fighting well.

  111. And a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in

  112. matters. So in other words, a maridos

  113. skill with wisdom to manage them.

  114. Prudent in matters. Many of you are skillful, but

  115. you are not wise. And so your potential is going

  116. into a waste. Many of you are skillful, but

  117. you don't know how to explore the financial side of your

  118. skill. Praise the name of the Lord.

  119. You are so good, but you are not making fortunes because you are

  120. not prudent and a comely person and the Lord is within.

  121. That is very important. That's very important.

  122. During the second service. I'm going to be speaking on

  123. that, Very important. A number of people have had

  124. messages about purpose and the usefulness of purpose.

  125. OK in fulfilling destiny. OK, And yet they have discovered

  126. purpose and they are not making ends meet.

  127. Why? Because they understand divine

  128. purpose, but they lack divine presence.

  129. Understanding divine purpose and running to pursue your divine

  130. purpose. Without divine presence we still

  131. amount to nothing. Am I talking to somebody?

  132. So the reason David could amount to so much from his potential

  133. was because he understood divine purpose.

  134. He applied his potential and he had the divine presence.

  135. These three things are very key. You have the potential, you must

  136. apply the potential to a purpose, but with the support of

  137. the divine presence of God. The liberals labour in faith

  138. when God is absent from the efforts.

  139. Am I talking to somebody verse what now verse 19 wherefore

  140. source sent messenger on to GC and said send me David a song

  141. which is with the sheep and as they will return from the

  142. slaughter of the Phillies time now let's now go to chapter 17.

  143. It's from there, we are now going to see where he applied

  144. the Kinect is key of being able to fight war and as they return

  145. from the slaughter of the Philistine have not took him and

  146. brought him before soul with the head of the Philistine in his

  147. hand one day. OK, you have the connection, the

  148. head of Philistine will be requested.

  149. What have you done in the past? What exploits?

  150. OK, have you done in the past will be requested.

  151. What are you? Have you been building your CV

  152. for the fighter day when the expected and unexpected

  153. opportunity we arrive. Praise the name of the Lord,

  154. Praise the name of the Lord. And so these were the things we

  155. did last week and have expanded on today.

  156. We are still going to push further on these two great

  157. friends and if time permit us, we may take on another

  158. character. So from the relationship of

  159. Jonathan and David, we can classify friendship into two

  160. types. One, there is the organic

  161. friendship. During the reflection session

  162. last week, I did mention that you don't force relationship

  163. otherwise it will not work. It must be organic.

  164. So there is organic friendship and then there is mechanical

  165. friendship. What is the first category and

  166. Sami Church the second category, mechanical friendship.

  167. So friendship is achievable organically and it is equally

  168. achievable mechanically. In other words, friendship do

  169. evolve and friendship can be organized.

  170. Hello, friendship do evolve and friendship can be words can be

  171. organized. Even marriage which is a type of

  172. friendship are we together? It can evolve organically and

  173. sometimes it can be organized by matchmaking.

  174. So the type that I evolve naturally is the one I describe

  175. as organic type of relationship and the one that is organized is

  176. the one that I described as mechanical kind of friendship.

  177. But friendship is better when it is an organic relationship than

  178. when it is a mechanical one. Do you agree?

  179. Friendship, it works better when it's an organic relationship,

  180. when you can hone the relationship.

  181. It's not anybody that forced you into it is not anybody that

  182. actually compel you or kajo you into it.

  183. So an organic relationship is one that grows from natural law,

  184. is the type that grow from neutral aspects.

  185. It is not arranged with selfish interest or ulterior motive of

  186. opportunism or exploitation. Part of the weakness of

  187. mechanical kind of friendship is that more often than not,

  188. there's always an ulterior motive behind it.

  189. Sometimes the motive could be a kind of exploiting the other.

  190. Most of the time you see opportunities going into

  191. mechanical kind of friendship. So but for organic relationship

  192. it grows from natural laws, it grows out of mutual respect,

  193. appreciation. It is not far arranged with

  194. service interests or ulterior motive of opportunities,

  195. opportunism or exploitation. So a mechanical friendship on

  196. the other hand is premeditatively arranged.

  197. Organic relationship can be spontaneous.

  198. Are we together? It can be spontaneous, but for

  199. mechanical friendship it is premeditatively Irene and built

  200. on self-centered expectation, self-centered expectation.

  201. So, but the relationship we find between David and Jonathan can

  202. fall easily into the organic kind of friendship because when

  203. you consider these two guys, David and Jonathan ordinarily

  204. and where you base your judgement on social

  205. consideration, Jonathan will not descend low to have a shepherd

  206. boy as his most intimate friend. You know, Jonathan was already a

  207. Prince in the palace. David was a shepherd boy in the

  208. in the wilderness. So ordinarily and where you base

  209. your judgment on social consideration, Jonathan may not

  210. want to descend. No, to have a shepherd boy as

  211. his most intimate friend. Yet nobody can do him into

  212. becoming an intimate friend to David.

  213. And it was not David that made the first move, it was Jonathan

  214. that made the first move to draw David to himself.

  215. So it was an organic kind of friendship that evolved

  216. naturally out of mutual love and respects.

  217. So based on social consideration, Jonathan would

  218. rather hire a David as his servant, maybe to keep the

  219. palace animals and at most because he was a brilliant man.

  220. Maybe as an Amor biara, because Jonathan himself was a fighter.

  221. Praise the name of the Lord, maybe as an Amor biara.

  222. So that is the best you expect if you base the judgment on

  223. social conversation. But the very first day that

  224. Jonathan met Devi, he responded organically to Davis Kill with

  225. respect. That's why I said the best kind

  226. of friendship is one that evolved organically because it

  227. comes with mutual respect. His first response was not to

  228. hire him as a bodyguard, A bouncer or hire him as somebody

  229. who would keep the the family pets.

  230. So it was not taken of Hayari Devi as a bodyguard.

  231. Rather, you respected him as a national hero.

  232. When he saw him carrying the head of Bulayat in his hand, you

  233. respected him as a national hero worthy of his royal room.

  234. We're going to read that scripture again.

  235. We read it last week too. We are he had to remove his own

  236. royal room, OK and place it on on Devi.

  237. And also Debbie responded very well by winning more victory

  238. over the Philistines. And already somebody that keep

  239. Goliath should be fair. They should be able to kill

  240. anybody, including King Saul. Am I talking to somebody?

  241. But he also responded responsibly.

  242. By winning more victories over the Philistine, without ever

  243. contemplating mutiny, without ever contemplating overthrowing

  244. concern, in spite of his power and popularity.

  245. For Samuel 18. For Samuel 18, And it came to

  246. pass when he had made an end of speaking.

  247. Are you from verse one? And it came to pass when he had

  248. made an end of speaking on to soul that the soul of Jonathan

  249. was neat with the soul of Devi. I mentioned to you that

  250. friendship is a relationship that has grown beyond handshake

  251. to happen it. So the soul of Jonathan was made

  252. with the soul of David and Jonathan loved him as his own

  253. soul. Who persuaded Jonathan into that

  254. relationship? Nobody, in spite of the fact

  255. that socially he has David out. Yet there was disrespect that he

  256. accorded David and Saul took him that day.

  257. I will let him go no more home to his father's house.

  258. Then Jonathan and David made the covenant because they love him

  259. as own soul. We are going to see soon that

  260. organic friendship. We start as contacts, not as

  261. contracts, but a mechanical friendship.

  262. We start as contracts and when the contracts end, the

  263. relationship also end, the friendship will also be

  264. dissolved. So as Saul took him that day, I

  265. will not let him go no more home to his to his father's out that

  266. verse 2 of chapter 18. Then Jonathan and David made the

  267. covenant because in love him as his own soul.

  268. So if we start as a contact, not as a contract, praise the name

  269. of the Lord, and from there it will grow into a covenant.

  270. Today you see ministers of the gospel use the word my covenant

  271. friend carelessly. And the same brother he called

  272. his covenant friend, he will backstab the brother.

  273. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him.

  274. So he replaced his shepherd gown with the royal roof, and gave it

  275. to David, and his garment even to his sword and to his bow, and

  276. to his gadoo. That's fine.

  277. And David went out. We are so ever saw something and

  278. behave himself wisely, not rudely.

  279. And Saab sent him over the men of war and he was accepted in

  280. the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul Saban.

  281. You see reciprocation. He never thought of mutiny.

  282. He never thought of exploiting his power, his military prowess

  283. and his popularity with the people to overthrow, to

  284. overthrow king. So.

  285. So we see reciprocation then after the death of Jonathan,

  286. David also did not forget the household of Jonathan.

  287. You know, eventually David rose to become the king and as he was

  288. consolidating on the truth, as he was constituting his cabinet,

  289. he remember his late friend and he brought his son on board.

  290. The people said Second Samuel Chapter 9.

    2 Samuel 9 chapter mention

  291. I take those but one from there for time and they will say is

  292. there yet any that is left of the hours of soul that I may

  293. seem kindness for Jonathan's sake.

  294. So, and I said the idea kind of friendship, the biblical kind of

  295. friendship is a symbiotic kind of relationship where

  296. contribution is from both end, not the situation whereby on one

  297. end that is contribution on the other end, the only thing you

  298. find is consumption. So when it was time for Devi to

  299. also reciprocate in reciprocated.

  300. Well, why? Because in by that spirit I

  301. taught you few weeks ago, the spirit of indebtedness.

  302. That spirit was actively at work in Devi.

  303. He recognized the good that his friend Jonathan did to him as a

  304. loan that must be paid back. So if you are going to be a good

  305. friend, you will not take kindness as your entitlement,

  306. You will take it as a loan. Hello.

  307. Kindness that anybody does to you.

  308. You won't take it as an entitlement.

  309. You will take it what as a loan. That was the kind of spirit that

  310. made David to also get to this one.

  311. I said as I'm constitute my cabinet OK, the family of my

  312. great friend Jonathan must be considered.

  313. And he said is there any that is left of the household of soul

  314. that has I mean seem kindness for Jonathan sake.

  315. So he understood kindness as a law to be paid back.

  316. So organic relationship like I said.

  317. Must not end as a contract, it must continue as a covenant.

  318. When you are into a relationship and issue came up and issue can

  319. easily end relationship including marriage.

  320. I suspect that that relationship, that friendship

  321. OK, has not been able to grow from contact beyond contract to

  322. a covenant level. Am I talking to somebody?

  323. So organic friendship will always start as contacts.

  324. It will grow into a transgenerational covenants.

  325. And may I draw your attention to this?

  326. Distance is never a barrier to an organic relationship.

  327. Promotion is never a barrier to an organic relationship.

  328. What do I mean by distance? It is possible you relocate OK,

  329. and you are no longer together in the same geographical space.

  330. It is not because your friend has located you.

  331. Now begin to shop for another friend.

  332. You will discard that even at a distance.

  333. There will be more anger for yourself, more respect for each

  334. other. So the center applied to

  335. promotion. OK, you were friends together in

  336. the secondary school and then suddenly one get to the

  337. university, the other is not there.

  338. And that is the relationship. It's either the one does not

  339. understand the concept of organic relationship and then

  340. became full of himself and he said I can't go along with you

  341. again. Or the other one who has not

  342. moved ahead became jealous of because of the priority complex

  343. decide to disconnect. So not until you are able to

  344. meet the two of them and study them critically, you may not be

  345. able to know where to please the blame.

  346. It could be one that has move ahead there.

  347. You know, that felt like I'm I'm not too big for this kind of

  348. relationship. It ought to be or sometimes it

  349. could be the other one that is yet to move on that become

  350. jealous or become so imperial and decide to to disconnect.

  351. But for organic kind of relationship, the type that we

  352. found between Jonathan and Debbie, it it eventually grew

  353. from contact went beyond contract to a transgenerational

  354. covenant. It became a transgenerational

  355. covenant is the reason when David got to the truth, he

  356. thought about his little friend and brought the son on board.

  357. Am I talking to somebody? So if distance relocation or

  358. promotion and your friendship, it was never a covenant

  359. relationship that evolved organically.

  360. Thank you Father for the help we have received again this morning

  361. to bring your cancer to your people.

  362. I ask, O Lord, that from this understanding you will help them

  363. to build relationship and friendship that will fulfill

  364. your purpose in the name of Jesus.

  365. I pray in the name of Jesus, in your pursuit of purpose, the

  366. divine presence will not be lacking in Jesus name.

  367. God bless you. So next week we are going to

  368. move to another example. If you are clap to clap it, well

  369. it is for Jesus. Next week we are going to take

  370. on the example of King David, King Iram and King Solomon.

  371. King David, King Hiram and King Solomon.

  372. Next week, Prince, the name of the Lord don't.

  373. Believe in the dark. Get proper understanding of life

  374. through the Word of God. My people perish for lack of

  375. knowledge. The Word of God is an

  376. illumination which gives direction.

  377. Remain placed as Reverend was far alone.

  378. Illuminates your mind with the Word of God with all simplicity

  379. and clarity.
