Mark 10 chapter mention
-
We read Mark Murikawa. Verse 32 to 45.
-
Essay EKT Lenny of my day in Carolina her daughter.
-
I read from her. Mocha Latsibi.
-
And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus went
-
before them. The NIV puts it this way, says
-
And Jesus leading in the way. And Jesus went before them.
-
And they were amazed. And as they followed, they were
-
afraid. And he took again the 12th and
-
began to tell them what things should happen unto him, saying,
-
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man shall be
-
delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes,
-
and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to
-
the Gentiles, And they shall mock, and shall scourge him, and
-
shall spit upon him, and shall kill him.
-
On the third day he shall rise again.
-
And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying,
-
Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever
-
we shall desire. And he said unto them, What
-
would ye that I should do for you?
-
They say unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit one on the right
-
hand, and the other on the left hand, and in thy glory.
-
But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask, Can ye
-
drink of the cup that I drink of, and be baptized with the
-
baptism that I am baptized with? And they said unto him, We came.
-
And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup
-
that I drink of, and with the baptism that I am baptized.
-
Whither shall ye be baptized? But to sit on my right hand, and
-
on my left hand is not mine to give, but it shall be given to
-
them for whom it is prepared. And when the 10 had it, they
-
began to be much displeased with James and John, verse 42.
-
But Jesus called them to him, and said unto them, You know
-
that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise
-
lordship over them, and their great ones exercise authority
-
upon them. But so shall it not be among
-
you. But whosoever will be great
-
among you shall be your minister, and so ever of you
-
will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
-
For even the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to
-
minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
-
May the Lord bless the reading and the hearing of the words to
-
the nourishing of our souls in Jesus name, Amen.
-
I've taken time to read these scriptures very carefully.
-
Mollo a Coco men la de para baleca.
-
I am tempted to rush. On sharing this message.
-
But we will take it carefully. And.
-
Wherever we are able to stop today because of the second
-
aspect of our activity service today, the rally.
-
We will pause there. Trust in the Holy.
-
Spirit to bless our souls. We are celebrating today.
-
Which is popularly. Called the triumphal entry of
-
Jesus. To Jerusalem.
-
Is a very, very important event in the Christian calendar.
-
The manner of the procession with which Jesus enter into
-
Jerusalem looks like a very royal procession.
-
How do you worry baby as I share a Toby James Jerusalem.
-
But in reality. It.
-
Was actually a match into suffering.
-
It was a reality. It was a reality, a match into
-
suffering. So the entire.
-
Thing look antithetic royalty. With all the paraphernalia of
-
royalty. Response of the congregation
-
without a formal rehearsal. It looks.
-
Like a divine orchestration. Not a.
-
Formal mobilization. We are.
-
Going to Jerusalem, into Jerusalem.
-
And. His followers were following.
-
Him. Stopped.
-
Go get a court if anybody asks you why are you losing.
-
To. Tell the person that the.
-
Lord needs it. It was divinely arranged.
-
And everything Look. Very.
-
But what happened afterwards was against royalty.
-
Or Taco Penny or Bangla. So.
-
The journey he made into Jerusalem that.
-
Day. Joyous it was a rugged with joy.
-
There. Was a proclamation.
-
There were declarations. There.
-
Were confessions by the. People by the fact that there
-
was. Some opposition.
-
The. Oppositions couldn't stop the.
-
Joy that was exhibited. But at the end of the day.
-
What? Became of the one that entered
-
into Jerusalem in Royalty does not point to royalty.
-
He entered. Into.
-
Jerusalem to suffer? If you read.
-
Your Bible very carefully. Every other person may miss it.
-
And when? But he knew what was.
-
Happening. Before he entered.
-
Into Jerusalem. Jerusalem.
-
He had taught his disciples about his passion, about the
-
suffering he's going to face. In Jerusalem.
-
In fact, in that Gospel according to Saint Mark.
-
In no way in reality, Mark. He talked about this suffering
-
nothing less than three times. Also Nepal EDI you codini E
-
Bameta. The first time he talked about
-
it is in Gospel According since Mark chapter 8.
Mark 8 chapter mention
-
And when he mentioned it in Mark chapter 8.
Mark 8 chapter mention
-
Never see you on man who lay you know where, Mark.
-
Peter said never. That will not happen to.
-
You when there is opening line line and then you initially see.
-
Then in Mark Chapter 9. Never where Mark he.
Mark 9 chapter mention
-
Mentioned it again, then the all the disciples behave as see what
-
was saying did not concern them. They started to argue on who is
-
going to be the leader or the cheapest among them.
-
After Jesus. Where we read now in chapter. 10
-
is. The tough time that Jesus talked
-
about his passion about what will happen to him in Jerusalem.
-
And. My attention is drawn again to
-
the response of the disciples this tough time.
-
Me see woman in the 1st. Instance it was Peter that said
-
that will never happen. And.
-
Jesus addressed that. Jesu 2nd.
-
Time the entire team were divided.
-
They were They started to contest for the position for
-
first position. Who will be the.
-
Leader. Who will be the leader now?
-
Jesus addressed that one as well.
-
This. It was the brothers in his team,
-
James. They tried.
-
To play a fast one this time, Yes, we are not taking the first
-
position here. Now we.
-
Want to take advantage of your debts?
-
That will. Be to your right and to your
-
left in the Kingdom. That sounds a little.
-
Spiritual isn't it? But still self-centered.
-
And later beyond tell me Hallelujah we.
-
Will come, we will come to that. Our baby.
-
So we found Jesus. He knew very well what would
-
happen to him in Jerusalem. So he taught them over and over
-
and over again. In Mark alone.
-
He mentioned it to them clearly three times.
-
This is telling us something. And then before.
-
People started to wave the pan from in chapter.
-
In chapter 10, Cross was the. Focus.
-
Cross the cross. Was the focus.
-
The redemptive work of Christ was the focus.
-
In Chapter 9, the redemptive work of Christ was the focus.
-
In chapter. 8 The redemptive work of Christ.
-
Was the focus. This is telling us something.
-
Redemption is not free. Redemption is costly.
-
DLA. Salvation is not cheap.
-
Ibala of. Salvation is sacrificial.
-
Ibala, our DLA, Lori. It costs the senior is life to
-
save us. So as I.
-
Mentioned we'll be looking very closely at the price of.
-
Redemption, but let's go. Back to this text again.
-
Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem.
-
Just one Jerusalem. And he had told these disciples
-
over and over again that he was going to suffer.
-
He was going to. When he sat on that journey to
-
Jerusalem, the manner in which the Bible described this
-
movement in verse 32. Is a.
-
Is a purpose. It was a purposeful journey, it
-
was a deliberate journey, it was a courageous journey.
-
It. Is one of those few texts where
-
the Bible would describe Jesus going with his disciples and
-
saying Jesus leads the way. It was like.
-
A jolly look. Nothing is stopping this
-
mission. Nothing is stopping this
-
assignment. If you read that verse. 32 Very
-
carefully. Look.
-
At the way the Bible describes the position of his followers.
-
And. The Bible talks about them being
-
afraid. They were amazed.
-
They followed. Him.
-
One time they were afraid the. People that were following him
-
were amazed at his charge towards Jerusalem.
-
They were. Afraid what will be the
-
experience of this man, the experience of this team when we
-
get. To Jerusalem, but the.
-
Bible now said in the midst of this Jesus.
-
Pulled the 12th aside. And he?
-
Began to lecture them again. And.
-
What was he telling them? The Bible says he told them.
-
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man shall be
-
delivered unto the chief priest and unto the scribes, and they
-
shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the
-
Gentiles, and they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and
-
shall spit upon him, and shall kill him, and on the third day
-
he shall rise again. Then.
-
He was not discouraged to go. He was.
-
Charging towards the cross and. He was not afraid because.
-
That is the reason he came. To the world.
-
As he was discussing this crucial subject with them, Bill.
-
Or. The matter of the reason he came
-
to the world. Or.
-
That is the redemption of mankind.
-
Or Mariah. The buying back of mankind, back
-
to God. I repented dying in your
-
paddock. See and.
-
He was talking about what it will cost him.
-
Look at what he listed that it. Will cost him, but you know.
-
He did not make any mistake. He was very clear about.
-
It. The redemption of your soul, the
-
redemption of my soul, the redemption of the soul of
-
mankind will cost him one betrayer.
-
I'll repeat that, Father Emilia ITMMA on Tiyona Jesu 1.
-
I want your dallery. 2 Condemnation. 1.
-
Idiare 3 Mercury. One Pi Vishalaya. 4 Scorching.
-
1. And fight death.
-
And as he was. Saying this, it is a surprise
-
that in this very serious moment, James and John.
-
Could. Only think of how to interrupt
-
this critical teaching. How to?
-
Interrupt this very passionate disclosure.
-
And they? Interrupted with a request.
-
Once you. Requesting for.
-
Glory. They were thinking about crime
-
when Jesus was thinking about the cross, that.
-
Was a. Huge distraction.
-
Jesus. Was thinking about the cross.
-
They were thinking about the crime.
-
I want your logo. Jesus was talking about the
-
fulfillment of his mission here on heart.
-
They were thinking of what they will gain from the life of.
-
Jesus, it was not only. A distraction to the teaching of
-
the moment, to the mission of the moment.
-
It caused the vision among the disciples.
-
When you. Read further, the Bible said,
-
and the remaining 10 disciples were not happy with James.
-
And John? We have a lot of lessons.
-
To learn from here. Even as children of God, what is
-
that thing that is paramount in the heart of God compared to
-
what is paramount? In your heart.
-
Is your mindset, thought, wish and desire aligning with the
-
agenda of God for the moment? Are you sensitive enough to
-
understand the program of God per time and align with that
-
program of God? Or you are there to pursue a
-
personal agenda for a personal and self-centered?
-
Reason. You are seated here this
-
morning. You are here to submit your life
-
to Jesus Christ. You have chosen to live your
-
life the way you want it, the way you like it.
-
You feel you can run the journey of your life by your own means,
-
by your own standard. Your case is not different.
-
From the scenario we have. Here is that you be.
-
Saved. The agenda.
-
Of God is that you come. To know him the.
-
Plan and purpose of God is that you run your life according to
-
His prescription, not according. To your own desire.
-
What is the thinking of God? What is the program of God?
-
What is that thinking that you have?
-
What is that program that you have set for?
-
Yourself in. The context of this very
-
serious, more set of teaching that Jesus would ever deliver,
-
what James and John could think of is that position of glory
-
right and left. You don't see what I'm?
-
Seeing here somebody is talking about deaths, talking about how
-
it will be beating, talking about how will be betrayed,
-
talking about how it will be, it will be traumatized, how it will
-
be killed. It was in the midst.
-
Where's the connection? They.
-
Are preaching about redemption and reservation of your soul and
-
what occupies your mind is how to get a girlfriend.
-
Even in church. Repent and give your life to
-
Christ. That is why they are preaching
-
in church. What you are thinking about is
-
how to steal someone's phone. He was talking about what it
-
will cost him salvation, comprehensive salvation for.
-
Mankind, some guys were. Thinking of personal benefit to
-
themselves. Let's not benefit to themselves
-
alone. Maybe.
-
We can apply what happened here to different aspects of our
-
lives. You know.
-
Some some of us will run into trouble because we don't know
-
how to talk. You are here this morning.
-
And. In congregation, in meeting
-
where you have one or two or three people, when they are
-
discussing and talking, when you talk, everybody just abandoned
-
you and continue their discussion.
-
You talk, you talk of. Points.
-
Because you do talk of points. Because you talk off points
-
as it applies to us in a place of work, it applies to students
-
too. It.
-
Applies in friendship, relationship, so it also applies
-
even in marriage. The reason?
-
Why you are not enjoying your marriage with your husband is
-
the moment you choose to talk. You talk at the wrong time.
-
You say what is on your mind at the wrong time.
-
You speak into a contest what is in your mind and you speak of
-
the context around you and therefore the man.
-
Is just fed up. Yes, you have your concerns, you
-
have things on your mind, but choose the right time, Choose
-
the right contest to say what is on your mind.
-
No feel. The contest before you talk, we.
-
Are talking about the crosshair. We are talking about the
-
salvation of the world here. No, we are not talking yet about
-
a sitting position beside Jesus. We are talking about the work of
-
redemption. We are talking about the passion
-
of the Christ. We are talking about what the
-
Lord will face to deliver salvation to the whole world.
-
We are talking about carrying the burden of sin of the entire
-
world. This is not a time of glory.
-
Now we are talking of what we bought, the glory.
-
You are half point John. You are half point James.
-
I pray for somebody here this. Morning.
-
Who is living off points of God's agenda?
-
May you find your way back to God in Jesus.
-
We give glory to God. Give.
-
Glory to Jesus. Jesus.
-
He did not rebuke them, Ashley. There's who he.
-
Responded in a way to redirect them back to the focus of the
-
hour. And.
-
That was that was what bat verse 45.
-
He attended. To the division that they are
-
worth among the. That was what happened.
-
There are careless requests divided the team.
-
Bury, I begin. I want you want bury.
-
So Jesus addressed it. And bounded them together again.
-
Turn them back to the agenda. Of the.
-
Hour the Son of Man came, not to be ministered unto, but to
-
minister, and to give his life a ransom.
-
For many. And that is the price of
-
redemption. Jesus, the ransom for all.
-
So. He.
-
Brought them back to the subject and the concern of the
-
leadership. When somebody decides to
-
carelessly destroy the company, break the team, break the
-
company, the leadership must be sparked not to lose focus of the
-
assignment, not to lose focus of the mission, not to drop the
-
vision and begin to attend to the peripheral, ephemeral things
-
that are not primary, things as are not paramount to the call of
-
the vision. Jesus rallied them together and.
-
Delivered a very strong conclusion to the subject of
-
the. Hour.
-
Re establishing the reason why he came to the.
-
World and. The focus for the journey to.
-
Jerusalem What is redemption? Redemption is.
-
Freedom that is secured by the payment of a price.
-
It. Is not just deliverance OK, it
-
is. Costly deliverance, costly
-
deliverance there. Is a price that is.
-
Paid. In First Corinthians chapter. 6
-
verse 20 the. Bible says for ye are bought
-
with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and your spirit
-
which belongs to God. No, no, no, no, no, no.
-
I didn't know TCT. In Hospital Chapter 1.
-
Verse 18. To 19 For as much as you know
-
that you were not redeemed with corruptible things like silver,
-
like gold from your vein conversation received by
-
tradition and from your Father's, but with the precious
-
blood of Christ as a lamb without blemish and without
-
spot, there is a price that was paid.
-
It is redemption is not just ordinary deliverance is a costly
-
deliverance. It cost Jesus his blood.
-
To redeem. US. 9 the Bible says.
-
And they sung a new song, saying that wordy to take the book and
-
to open the seas Their home. For Thou was slain and has
-
redeemed us by the blood. Out of every kindred and tongue
-
and people and nations. There is a price that was paid.
-
It was a costly deliverance. And.
-
What is that price? Called that.
-
Price is called ransom. Read.
-
That verse 45 of Mark chapter 10.
Mark 10 chapter mention
-
So let's get it from. There Mark 10 verse 45 so.
-
Ransom. Ransom.
-
That price is called ransom. Is.
-
Called ransom today, It's a pity.
-
That we. Found ourselves in a situation
-
in this country where people will pick up individuals, human
-
beings, and start to negotiate with the families of those
-
people to get them released. The oceanic land only or related
-
while any I want to come watch it in your bed while back while
-
my bar bring 10. Million as ransom?
-
Airport 10 million. Why?
-
Bring 20 million as ransom. Airport 20,000,001. 3500 million
-
as ransom. 500 million bargaining.
-
The life of man. With money, that's an.
-
Abuse of what Christ did for us. The ransom that we are talking
-
about here is talking about Jesus that redeemed humankind
-
from death, Redeem humankind from sin, redeem humankind from
-
eternal death in hell by him, God to the cross to die for us
-
as ransom for who are supposed to die.
-
But he said no, he replaced us. And that is what you mean by
-
ransom, that Christ redeemed us using himself as a ransom?
-
Our repentance is tabuku irapada.
-
It is just which is not for any and.
-
We pray whole. Lord.
-
That you will visit Nigeria. Nigeria.
-
That in your. Mercy, O God you.
-
Bring a hand to this trouble. In our land.
-
The captivity of the wicked man. You will redeem them.
-
You will deliver them. We.
-
Empower our government with the spirit and of messy.
-
To. Do the right thing.
-
To. Secure this nation in the name.
-
Of Jesus in your. Power.
-
You will disarm the men, the men, the men that are troubling
-
this nation. You will demobilize them.
-
You will demobilize them. You will show mercy.
-
We pray, oh God, by the reason of the celebration of this
-
season that we are celebrating the ultimate ransom.
-
You will visit our nation and send peace to us again.
-
Oh Lord, in the. Name of.
-
Jesus, I beg you, in the name of the Lord.
-
Don't. Waste the ransom that Jesus paid
-
over your. If anybody is kidnapped.
-
Thereby Jenny Kenny Bear. And died in the den of
-
kidnappers without that person appropriating the ransom that
-
Jesus made. And just.
-
Before he left the world. It's a double Geopardy.
-
We pray that God will intervene in the matter of this nation.
-
But if there's any? Time that we need to be closer
-
to God than ever in this nation it is now.
-
This. Is a time that security is is
-
not guaranteed anywhere. People that were kidnapped,
-
ransom was paid and yet they were killed.
-
Out you born and share out you canning but when 111 son he
-
wants to power the. Only ransom that is truly
-
ransom, the only ransom that is comprehensive, the only ransom
-
that is effective is the ransom through the blood of Jesus that
-
was paid for my redemption, for your redemption.
-
The life of Jesus went into it. He resurrected to give us back.
-
Our lives, please. My brethren.
-
Don't. Waste this.
-
Season. If you have been living your
-
life on your own terms up till now, this is the time to repent.
-
This. Is the time to come closer to
-
God? The.
-
Time to draw closer to God. God will protect and preserve
-
everyone of us victims of kidnap passing.
-
Jesus, those people that. Were victims.
-
That you and I have not committed in the previous.
-
Time. We are in this country.
-
They entered into churches and they kidnapped people.
-
God will preserve us. All around them you wasi.
-
But if there's any time anybody should be more serious with his
-
or her God, it is. This is not the time to run your
-
life or your home terms. This.
-
Is the time to draw closer. To.
-
When we talk about. Redemption Redemption points to.
-
This The bondage is real. The danger is very, very.
-
Fatal the. Scene is the true bondage that
-
man has entered into and. Said.
-
The Satan is the reason why man fail.
-
Satan. And that's the cost of
-
redemption is unavoidable. Are you Penny Idiya?
-
DLA for Rakada. It is a must for us to pay the
-
ransom. And Jesus is the only one that
-
can pay that. And he has paid.
-
It. What are you doing with this?
-
Jesus as we. Go how to.
-
Celebrate the Palm Sunday. To sing and dance.
-
Remember those that cried the first day?
-
They were the. One the following day that was
-
saying crucify him. Yes, to me, I see.
-
When they were saying Hosanna, they didn't understand.
-
What they were saying, the language.
-
Hosanna is picked from Psalm 118 verse 25, and the meaning simply
-
is save us, Oh Lord, save us, oh Lord, that is the meaning of
-
Hosanna. They were shouting save us, oh
-
Lord, today and the following day they were rejecting Him.
-
Home. Your life.
-
Will not be working against the salvation of.
-
God tell. Jesus, I am ready to accept the
-
redemption you offer. How to pray?
-
I am ready to accept the redemption you have come to
-
offer. I don't.
-
Want to live my life on my own terms again.
-
I want you to save me, truly and thoroughly.
-
I'm tired. Of.
-
The when I've been living my. Life.
-
I give my life unto you in totality.
-
If you are making this decision this morning, can you raise?
-
Your hand say Jesus, I. Surrender Hall to you.
-
Raise your hand to. Jesus, go pray for raise your
-
hand to. People, you are tired of living
-
your life on your own terms. You are ready to surrender Hall
-
to Jesus. I pray with you and we close the
-
service. To Jesus.
-
Not raising it to me. You are not raising it to me.
-
Raise that time to Jesus. Raise it, raise it.
-
Raise it very well. Raise it very well.
-
Raise it very well. You are not raising it to me.
-
You are not raising it to me. Raise it, raise it.
-
Jesus is happy, the heaven is happy that you are making that
-
decision this morning. Raise the hand very well to
-
Jesus. Raise it to him.
-
This is past season is not going in bed over your life.
-
All highs close. Call me.
-
Making the best decision of your life this morning.
-
Don't be afraid. Put that hand on your chest.
-
You are. Making that decision this
-
morning as that hand was raised, put it right on your chest.
-
If you have made that decision. This morning.
-
Pray after me. Lord Jesus, I thank you for the
-
work of redemption you came to do.
-
I wholeheartedly accept your love this morning.
-
I accept you as the Lord and Savior of my life.
-
I give my life to you today. Jesus, call me to my heart.
-
I confess all my sin this morning.
-
I give you one minute to say those wrong things you have been
-
doing to Jesus. Say Jesus, tell Jesus those
-
