Who is this a Wisdom Bible church?
-
The Church of a Christian? The Holy Spirit will help us
-
today towards the endpoint of today's message to be able to
-
differentiate between what are the facts and what are the
-
fallacies. You will not work in error in
-
Jesus name. We are talking about working in
-
the Spirit, but the temptation and the tendency is also there
-
that you are working in error and you think you are working in
-
the in the Spirit. And of course, let's take a
-
Biani again from where we stopped last week.
-
The emphasis is on the fact that the Christian faith is the faith
-
of followership, likewise is a faith of fellowship.
-
I also take my time to differentiate between the two.
-
You need the two understanding to excel in your work with
-
Christ. Praise the name of the Lord, and
-
you must not take one for the other.
-
So the Christian faith is a faith of fellowship.
-
It's also a fate of follower sheep.
-
Praise the name of the Lord. And if you really want to follow
-
Jesus, there is no alternative to walking in the Spirit.
-
So when Jesus said it so they will be disciples and say the
-
same thing to us today. Follow me.
-
What is the way to go about it? The way to go about following
-
Jesus is to walk in the Spirit. The very common and central
-
statement of Jesus to every of his would be disciple as we
-
X-ray it from portions of the New Testament.
-
The gospel in particular last week was that there is this
-
common Charlene, this common call follow me.
-
How do you go about it is by walking in the Spirit.
-
So that phrase or statement, follow me is an invitation to
-
walking in the Spirit. Galatian 516 and then I jump to
-
525. This I say then walk in the
-
Spirit, and yes, shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
-
This is opposed to Paul writing to the Church of Galicia because
-
they were a church that started with zeal embrace the gospel,
-
but along the line they embrace the fallacy about the faith as
-
against the facts, the truth of the faith.
-
It got to a point that Apples to Paul was so troubled and
-
concerned that he had to rebuke them after three.
-
He exclaimed, You foolish Galatians, people who are
-
supposed to hold the truth, but they dropped the facts and they
-
were following after fallacies, after error.
-
So the tendency is there. Therefore, like I said earlier,
-
that you may be walking in error and you will think you are
-
walking in the Spirit. I pray again in the name of
-
Jesus, that as I bear the mind of God to you this morning, the
-
grace to differentiate between the weeds and the saps will be
-
given unto you in the name of Jesus.
-
Said so. This was what informed that
-
emphasis we find repeatedly in chapter 5 of the book of
-
Galicia, where in our captain I'm marrying it unto them.
-
Walk in the Spirit. This is the way to escape error.
-
Walk in the Spirit. This is the way to overcome the
-
flesh. If you get to verse 19, you will
-
not discover that he listed the works of the of the flesh that
-
are contrary to working in the Spirit.
-
So he said this, I said then walk in the Spirit and yes shall
-
not fulfill the loss of the flesh.
-
Then some people mistake walking in the Spirit with mere by mere
-
being baptized in the Holy Spirit. 1 is a situational
-
event. The other is a progression.
-
You know, I told you that the Christian faith is not only a
-
faith of confession, is also a faith of progression.
-
Am I talking to somebody? So we now get to verse 25.
-
He said if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the
-
Spirit. It means you can be in the
-
spirit and stagnant. Hello, generally you are born
-
again. Indeed you can.
-
You are started for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
-
You have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
-
You are living in the Spirit, but you are not working in the
-
Spirit. You are not making progress, you
-
are not growing. So what guarantee your growth is
-
not just by being baptized in the Holy Spirit.
-
You must also follow after Jesus.
-
You must walk in the Spirit. If we live in the Spirit, let us
-
also walk in the Spirit. And of course last week I
-
clarified that salvation is not a one step journey.
-
Operating in the Spirit is also not a one step experience of I
-
am baptized and once I am once I am baptized I need do nothing
-
more. Are we together?
-
So why? Christianity is a race?
-
It is not a place. Hello.
-
The Christian faith is a race. It's not a place, it's not a
-
location. The the part of the faith that
-
is a place is heaven. And it's not a place we have
-
arrived. It's a place we are going.
-
Hope I'm not confusing us. So Christianity is a race.
-
It is not a place. It is heaven that is a place,
-
and salvation to Christ is the gate to heaven.
-
You get born again, OK, to see the Kingdom of God.
-
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
-
So you don't have a clear sight of heaven.
-
You don't have a clear sight of God.
-
Your eyes of understanding is not a lighting.
-
But the foundation for the Enlightenment of your height of
-
understanding is that the place of being born again you see, you
-
are attracted, but you don't stand where you see.
-
You walk towards what you have seen.
-
Am I talking to somebody? That's why Christianity is not a
-
place. Salvation is not a place.
-
Christianity is a race. You got by the gate to see, and
-
once you have seen the next things for you to advance
-
towards. So salvation to Christ is the
-
gate to heaven. And of course, you will agree
-
with me that access to the gate of any compound does not connote
-
access to the mansion. Look at that compound now, OK,
-
somebody can come into this gate.
-
I mean, coming through the gate and stay in the compound.
-
And where you asking? Where are you?
-
You will say I am at Oasis of Wisdom Bible Church, yet it's
-
outside there in the compound, but it's not in the auditorium
-
to be part of what we are doing in the auditorium.
-
And that is the experience of some believer, one in land who
-
live Balani. So access to the gate does not
-
connote presence in the mansion. With the mouth you confess unto
-
salvation. That is the scripture.
-
Romans 10/10 For with the heart man believed unto righteousness,
-
and with the mouth we confess unto salvation.
-
But you must progress or follow onto eternal life.
-
You confess unto salvation, then you progress onto eternal life.
-
That was why Jesus would always say follow me, and the way to
-
follow Him is by walking in the Spirit.
-
Holy Spirit, give us understanding.
-
Let me push that illustration further.
-
From Psalms we can learn the structure of His presence
-
clearly. Psalm 65 Four, bless his demand,
-
whom thou choosest. You know we are saved by grace.
-
We didn't choose God, God chose us.
-
Am I talking to somebody? And Cosette to approach unto
-
thee, that he may dwell in thy code.
-
So when he chose us, he called us OK that we may approach unto
-
him. So a man that is beckoned on a
-
man that is called OK if he will ever enjoy the relationship or
-
contact with the person that has called him.
-
It is your nurse is on him to advance to the one that called
-
him. Are you understand what I'm
-
saying? If I say Brother Enola come, I
-
am the one that should stand. It is you that should watch
-
advance towards me. So Sam Srirafosse blesses the
-
man whom thou chooses and causes to approach unto thee.
-
So the door is open, but effort must also come from our path to
-
assess His presence, to be able to gain direct contact with Him,
-
that He may dwell in Thy cord, which I be satisfied with the
-
goodness of the house. Evil of Thy holy temple.
-
Then 84 is 26 psalms. My soul longed.
-
Yeah, evil fainted for the court of the Lord.
-
So the longing, the hunger, the passion to advance and assess
-
God was on the part of the one that has been given the
-
opportunity, the one that the girl has been open on to.
-
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
-
Now, until there is that anger for God in you, you may not make
-
so much progress in your work with God.
-
So this is a critical part of the faith which responsibility
-
of thee lies on you. So this is a part of the faith
-
that your disciple cannot play for you.
-
This is the part of the faith that your parents cannot play
-
for you. That hunger must be of you.
-
That passion must be of you. That long game must be of you.
-
That readiness of heart must be of you.
-
That willingness to get hold of this God must be of you is a
-
personal responsibility. Verse 92.
-
Psalm 92. Verse 13 those that be planted
-
in the House of the law shall flourish where in the courts of
-
our God. Then Psalm 104, the one that is
-
very popular that you know and you sing in song.
-
I will enter his game with a civil.
-
I will enter his call with. So there's a distinction between
-
the gates and what's the cause For how long will you stay at
-
the gates? For how long will you stay in
-
the arena? God is saying come into the
-
court. The court is the place of
-
decision. The court is the place of
-
judgement. The court is the place of
-
government. Hello, are you with me?
-
Because the Christian faith is the Kingdom.
-
It is in the course you have the true not at the gates, not in
-
the compound. So the king is seated on the
-
throne in the court, which is courteous that you and I should
-
be. Am I talking to somebody?
-
You are called to be a part of the Kingdom, and we enter His
-
gate without giving and into His court.
-
We pray, be thankful to Him and bless His name.
-
So salvation is an experience. It is not the terminus.
-
Salvation is what an experience is not the terminal point.
-
It's not the end point of your relationship with Go.
-
I consider salvation as the springboard for deeper
-
experience with Go. For higher dimension of
-
relationship with Go, salvation is the springboard.
-
If you have seen divers before, OK, when they want to dive,
-
there is a particular board, OK, that they stand on and they
-
bounce and bounce on it and then that springboard will launch
-
them into the water and from there they begin to swim.
-
If somebody stand on the springboard, another just stand
-
on an ordinary ground, OK, To dive into the water.
-
The one that stands on the springboard already have an
-
advantage because the springboard will push in, OK.
-
And then from there, if we just swim on, are we together?
-
The one that stand on mere floor is not a good swimmer.
-
If he jump into the river, he may sink.
-
Am I talking to somebody? So salvation is an experience.
-
It is not a terminus. You consider it properly as a
-
springboard for your spiritual journey.
-
Remember that our colleague into the field, OK is on to a journey
-
and not to judgment. So salvation is the beginning of
-
the race, giving your life to Christ in place.
-
By that you have accepted to follow Jesus.
-
And yes, of course, Jesus in one of his is either teaching or
-
parable or narration. I agree.
-
I don't know which one it belongs to.
-
He said there were two sons of the same father.
-
And he called the first child. He said, you will go with me or
-
you go for me to the farm. And he said, yes, Sir.
-
And then he turned away from the father and he didn't go.
-
The second one he called him. He said, Daddy, I will not be
-
able to go, but what I said I will not be able to go,
-
reconsider and he eventually went.
-
So not until you start to follow, we cannot say your
-
salvation is genuine. Not until you start to walk in
-
the spirit, live in obedience to the word of God, we cannot say
-
you're racing up your hand and you are weeping.
-
I am surrender unto Jesus name. I go follow until we start to
-
see you do it. Practically so.
-
Christianity is a faith of fellowship, as we have it in
-
Galatians 525 if we live in the Spirit.
-
So that tell us that Christianity is a faith of
-
fellowship, a call to live in the Spirit.
-
But Galatians 535 says, if we claim to live in the Spirit, we
-
must demonstrate it by walking in the spirit.
-
So as a face of fellowship, that fellowship can only be
-
demonstrated by practical followership.
-
You are called unto fellowship. You are called unto union with
-
God. Are you with me?
-
That is fellowship, but the Genuity of that court of
-
fellowship that you have answered.
-
The proof of it in practical time is your followership.
-
You're walking in the spirit. If we live in the Spirit, let us
-
also walk in the Spirit. Apostle Paul stressed it
-
further. He said we must work out our
-
faith with fear and trembling. So if you understand
-
Christianity as a fellowship and nothing more, you will think
-
salvation is the endpoint. Are you piercing the materials
-
together? So you would think being
-
baptized in the Holy Spirit is the peak of Christian
-
experience? The moment you can, you can
-
speak in tongue. You say you have reached the end
-
point of the faith, but I put it to you that even with the
-
ingenuity of your salvation and your experience of baptism or
-
the Holy Spirit, the role is still very long.
-
I will dig a little deeper. Jesus love must be sweeter.
-
I will dig a little deeper. Deeper.
-
Yeah, I will dig. I will dig a little deeper.
-
Jesus love must be sweeter. I will dig a little deeper.
-
Deeper, more. That's why I was supposed to say
-
that I may know him. The power of the selection, the
-
fellowship of the software be made confirmable unto his death.
-
So the road is still very long, there is still more ground to
-
cover. The opportunity is still there
-
for you, for richer experience to explore.
-
And that is why the owners lie on you, to make up your mind to
-
walk in the Spirit. So if you have that
-
understanding that Christianity is a fate of followership beyond
-
just fellowship, it will be clear to you that salvation is
-
only the starting point of the range.
-
Let me make a little more clarification on the fellowship
-
dimension and the followership dimension and why you must take
-
the 2 together in your journey with God, in your relationship
-
with God. On the month of transligoration,
-
something happened. Jesus took, I think three of his
-
disciples. Peter was one of them, to the
-
month of transligoration. And while they were there it was
-
an El Dorado. And when Apostle Peter
-
experienced that union fellowship with the patriarchs
-
that have been long gone, Moses was there, Elias was there, and
-
Jesus was there. And Peter said we are as should
-
a person want to be than to be here forever as they let us hear
-
duty Tabernacle, one for Moses, one for Elias and one for Jesus
-
and let us be here forever. Let the headquarters of Jesus
-
Ministry International be on this month.
-
And we are going nowhere again. So there is a possibility that
-
you can be lost in fellowship that will be left behind in
-
followership. These are deep issues.
-
I pray you will understand. That was the experience of
-
Peter. You can be lost in fellowship.
-
OK, That the cloud will move, OK, I will not know.
-
I will still be staying inside the assumption, OK, of the cloud
-
of the past. That is why I give it to the
-
children of Israel while they were in the wilderness.
-
Whatever they are doing, even if there's plant little crops, OK,
-
and the crop is ready for harvest, the moment the pillar
-
of cloud move, they abandon all of that and move with the cloud.
-
Am I talking to somebody? But Peter didn't learn from
-
that. He was lost in the fellowship on
-
the month of transfiguration, and he was saying I go nowhere.
-
This is where I will stay, assuming Jesus had permitted him
-
to stay on the month of Transfiguration.
-
You may never have the experience of walking on the
-
streets of Jerusalem whereby a shadow will be erasing the dead
-
and healing the sick. Am I talking to somebody?
-
So you can be lost in fellowship that will be left behind in
-
followership. You can be lost in prayer that
-
you will not be useful in evangelism.
-
Am I talking to somebody? And that's why Jesus was very
-
emphatic and balanced when he said you will receive power when
-
the only ghost come on you. He didn't stop there.
-
He said then you will be my witness.
-
You will move. The faith is a movement, not a
-
monument. Our faith is a movement is not
-
what a monument? You know, a monument is a
-
beautiful thing that tourists come and see and you watch and
-
you enjoy the presence of it and you take picture around it.
-
Hello. And all that many people do in
-
church every Sunday is to take pictures in church.
-
I don't, I'm not say those who take picture are not doing the
-
right thing. Well, after taking those
-
picture, where are you taking the picture to?
-
Are you taking the picture to bring other people?
-
Are you taking the picture to share the gospel on the social
-
media or just operate how beautiful you are?
-
Am I talking to somebody? So our faith is not a monument.
-
Our faith is what? A movement.
-
So if you are lost in fellowship and you are left behind in
-
followership, at that point, you may be doing the correct things
-
of yesterday that are not the current things on the calendar
-
of Jewish Spirit for today. You'll be doing the correct
-
things of yesterday which are not the current things on the
-
calendar of the Holy Spirit for today.
-
That was why when Cornelius was to be the first of the Gentiles
-
to be saved and an Angel appeared to him, I said the man
-
that we be the instrument for your salvation and for the
-
entrance of the gospel to Europe and from there to other parts of
-
the world, is Apostle Peter. Apostle Peter was still holding
-
on to the correct revelation of the days of Moses, that the
-
Israelite must not hit a clean animal.
-
The Israelite must not associate with Gentiles and where he was
-
and God said send men to Jopa where Peter was and beckon him
-
to come. God had to be giving him
-
revelation of revelation. And this part of revelation he
-
was still arguing a basket came with different kinds of animals
-
that were forbidden from eating. And the Angel was saying, Peter,
-
stand up and he doesn't say no, I can't eat or kill me, Eat, I
-
can't eat or kill me. It was great reluctance that he
-
agreed to follow the servant that came from Cornelius.
-
In fact, when he got there, he started to preach very lengthy
-
religious message that may not end in invitation to salvation.
-
And when the Holy Spirit discovered that this man is
-
still staying in the cloud of yesterday, fellowship is not
-
following correctly. The Bible says even without him
-
calling them to salvation, the only Spirit descended on the
-
meeting. Acts chapter 10.
Acts 10 chapter mention
-
The only Spirit is not to wait for him to invite them to
-
salvation. OK.
-
And they were all baptized, the entire household.
-
It was there. Peter and I said, now I agree.
-
Now I will move, now I will follow.
-
Who am I to deny these people? What are baptism when God
-
himself advertised them with the Holy Spirit?
-
You find all of that in that chapter 10.
-
AM I talking to somebody? So?
-
And it was not only an act that started it.
-
This started with him even on the month of transportation.
-
Thank God for the voice of intervention that overrule His
-
opinion. You see why you are a fellowship
-
and you don't understand the followership dimension.
-
You may be operated by opinion and presumption as they gave you
-
operate by revelation. So there was the voice of
-
intervention that came from heaven.
-
This is my beloved son. Hear him maybe we should read
-
that story in Matthew 17 so that I don't assume that we all
-
understand what I'm relating to Matthew 17 and after his day
-
Jesus taken Peter, James and John.
-
That's one verse one his brother.
-
I'm bringing them up onto a onto a high mountain apart underline
-
the phrase and high, high mountain, high mountain, high
-
mountain. We should be able to take kudos
-
to Peter, James and John for travelling long enough to get to
-
the mountain, that peak level of fellowship with Jesus and was
-
transfigured before them. And his face did shine as the
-
sun, and his women was white as the light.
-
And behold there appear unto them Moses and Elias talking
-
with him. Then answered Peter and said
-
unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here.
-
It is good for us to Tabernacle here.
-
It is good for us to stay here permanently.
-
It is good for us OK not to explore any higher other higher
-
level or dimension. This is good enough if that will
-
let us make here 3 Tabernacle, one for thee and one for Moses,
-
and one for a liar. He still wanted to stay in the
-
past, he still wanted to hold on to the law and to the prophet.
-
One ye speak, behold a a black cloud over shadow them to
-
overrule the opinion he was offering.
-
I pray in the name of Jesus when you are about to make a mistake
-
that will not align with the program of God for your life,
-
Heaven will intervene and overrule you in the name of
-
Jesus. Why yes, pay beyond the black
-
lad over shadow them and beyond a voice out of the cloud.
-
We said, this is my beloved son A whom I am well pleased hear
-
him. So from fellowship you gain
-
community benefits of the faith. But if you marry that with the
-
fellowship understanding of the faith, you will be helped to
-
also understand or to gain understanding of personal
-
accountability. Am I talking to somebody?
-
Because many of you, your faith, survive only in fellowship.
-
You are actually not into followership.
-
Remove fellowship from you. The devil will finish you in
-
fellowship. The weakest brother can stand
-
under the complete anointing to do exploits, including casting
-
out devils. But without a personal private
-
work with God, the devil will deal with him.
-
Nazi Leslie, whenever he's alone and he wouldn't know that the
-
cover he had was the corporate fellowship anointing.
-
How strong are you against the powers of darkness when it is
-
you and you alone? How effective are you in your
-
prayer when it is you alone that is to pray?
-
AM I talking to somebody you know?
-
I am not preaching against fellowship, but I am saying that
-
there is a place of personal accountability, that only your
-
work in the Spirit, personal work in the Spirit, will be what
-
will matter. For a day will come when we
-
shall all appear before the judgment St. of Christ to give
-
accounts, not good accounts, not common accounts, not cooperative
-
account, not a better account, not family accounts.
-
Are you with me? No denominational account,
-
individual accounts. So if you cannot follow Jesus
-
instruction, you cannot flow with him in the Spirit.
-
That was why when that voice of intervention came on the month
-
of transaction. OK, the emphasis is here Jesus.
-
So for you to work in the Spirit, you need closer personal
-
work with Jesus, and that is the only way to avoid being
-
distracted out of the way. You are not following Him afar
-
off, but you are following Him. You are keeping step with Him.
-
You are walking in His step. So a closer personal work with
-
Jesus is needed to avoid being distracted out of the way.
-
If you have ever travelled on a road or to a place you don't
-
know before and you call for help, that somebody who know the
-
road should lead you. One of the things you must do
-
and you must not fail at is that you keep close proximity with
-
the person that is leading you. But if you will not do that
-
because the other person knows the road, he knows all the band
-
and all the nooks and crannies, by the time you do the first
-
band, the second band, OK, let it be Lagos, you will be lost
-
forever. Am I talking to somebody?
-
So, the only thing that can help a follower is to keep close
-
proximity with the person that is needed.
-
How close are you in fellowship and followership of the Holy
-
Spirit? So the only way to avoid being
-
distracted out of the way is to follow closely a closer war with
-
Jesus. I will dig a little deeper.
-
Jesus love must be sweeter. Remember I once taught you from
-
this poopy, A closer walk with Jesus is not a disadvantage.
-
A closer walk with Jesus is not. What a disadvantage some of you.
-
You don't want to be too committed, you don't want to be
-
too involved. You want to stay and lose.
-
You are giving occasion to the flesh to overcome you and for
-
the devil to overtake you. Am I talking to somebody?
-
A closer walk with Jesus. Confess the liberty of the
-
Spirit of you to check the flesh.
-
Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the
-
flesh. Walking in the Spirit closer
-
walk with Jesus. We make even your bodies subject
-
to the dictates of the Holy Spirit.
-
The reason the flesh can easily overcome you is because you are
-
not keeping close work with Jesus.
-
We all perform better on that monitoring.
-
Hello, is that not? You may want to relax when
-
you're not being monitored. So if you walk closely with the
-
Holy Spirit, if you walk in the Spirit, the sense of being
-
monitored will be there. And so you be careful.
-
That was what helped Joseph when he had the opportunity to sleep
-
with the wife of his master. And if he, if he did that, are
-
you with me, it may lead to some other even kind of benefit for
-
him. But a sense of understanding of
-
spirit monitoring. He said how shall I do this
-
thing and sing against God? So he was working in the
-
consciousness of the presence of God.
-
You can cheat your wife, you can cheat your husband, you can
-
misbehave, OK, because your pastor is not there.
-
But what about the presence of the Spirit of God?
-
How much of the consciousness of the presence of God do you
-
carry? Am I talking to somebody?
-
Yes. You have travelled to evaporate,
-
your wife is not there. You drop and clean mouth and you
-
think no man has seen you, but has God not seen you?
-
So spiritual consciousness, we announce your sense of social
-
responsibility. If we announce your sense of
-
marital fidelity, am I talking to somebody?
-
If you announce your sense of destiny accountability, that
-
whether say or not say, you will account for every of your
-
action, you will account for every of your words.
-
Can we check the facts and the fallacies?
-
And we stop here today to look on the facts and fallacies next
-
week. And the reason for that is that
-
it is possible you are working in error.
-
Why you think you are working in the Spirit?
-
It is not only the devil that misinterpret issues.
-
Our flesh and our religious presumption can equally lead to
-
misconception of issues. And that is why next week we
-
will focus on what working in the Spirit is not, so that we
-
can separate between the facts and the fallacies.
-
God bless you. I love you with the love of
-
Jesus. We believe you'll be blessed by
-
the ministry of this message. You will do well to be the doer
-
of all you've heard. For further inquiry and
-
spiritual help, contact this number is 08035685882 or worship
-
with us at Oasis of Wisdom Bible Church, adjacent University of
-
Ellorin Teaching Hospital, OK OC Ellorin, God bless you.
