Who is this? A Wisdom Bible church?
-
The Church of a distant Christian narration Walking in
-
the Spirit Last week we dwelt so well on what's Walking in the
-
Spirit is not. I will write it quickly.
-
Those seven items that I drew our attention to that may be
-
considered as walking in the spirit through misconception,
-
but which are not. Number one, I mentioned that
-
walking in the spirit is not being boxed into the bottom of
-
vision and revelation before you can live your normal life.
-
So it doesn't mean that until you see visions and revelation
-
before you can live your normal Christian life #2 we said it is
-
not suspending your intellect or disobeying your instincts,
-
waiting for audible voice of the Holy Spirit before you act with
-
discretion. It entails embracing Kingdom
-
lifestyle of Christ. That is what it simply means.
-
It doesn't mean that you must suspend your intellect or
-
disobey your instincts waiting for audible voice of the Holy
-
Spirit before you act with discretion.
-
And #3I emphasized very clearly that it is not an extra
-
spiritual requirement for a special class of believers.
-
You don't sit on the Pew of thinking that only those who
-
stand on the puppy to preach are supposed to be working in the
-
Spirit. Any other person OK who comes to
-
church can live their their kind of life.
-
No, walking in the spirit is not restricted to only the people on
-
the pulpit. It is not reserved for special
-
class of brethren. Oh, I don't belong to the prayer
-
warrior group so I don't cast out demon so I can live my
-
careless life. No, working in the spirit is not
-
an extras virtual requirement for a special class of
-
believers. It is the standard normal
-
Christian life. The standard normal Christian
-
life. And #4 you don't achieve it by
-
disconnecting from realities, so it doesn't mean you go and
-
embrace all realistics, which are fantasies such as cutting
-
off from friends and families. OK, because you want to live a
-
sanctimonious life and so you suspend your social life
-
completely. No, you have to be godly even in
-
your interaction with all the people, but that because you
-
want to work in the Spirit, you will not suspend social
-
interaction. It's not so #4 is like it.
-
It is not denying the social reality of your personality.
-
We all have our individual temperament, OK?
-
By the help of the Holy Spirit, the negative side of your
-
temperament, the Holy Spirit will draw your attention to it.
-
The only Spirit will help you to overcome those weaknesses, OK.
-
But for instance, if you are an extrovert OK and you know an
-
estrophat will be outspoken. What matter is that where you
-
walk in the spirit you will speak words that gives grace to
-
people seasoned with salt doesn't mean that the only will
-
not change you from somebody who expresses himself or herself to
-
somebody who will now be reserved.
-
God has a purpose. Why as why are you the way you
-
why are you praise the name of the Lord?
-
And so don't begin to look less spiritual, OK, because you
-
cannot just sit calm the way some quiet people will sit calm.
-
Quietness may not mean godliness.
-
Somebody can be so quiet and all manners of deadly things can be
-
going on in the heart of that person against a friend.
-
I might talk to somebody but he kept quiet if all manners of
-
evil imaginations. OK Oh he kept quiet and it's
-
more sinful to have all if we imagination in your heart.
-
OK, that somebody who is offended and immediately
-
expresses it and it ends there. Am I talking to somebody number
-
what number six is still like it.
-
It is not suppressing your emotion such as laughter and
-
grief. I cited an example of our Lord
-
Jesus Christ when his friend Lazarus died.
-
The scripture was very clear about it that Jesus wept.
-
But I do have our attention to it that the scripture didn't say
-
Jesus willed, he wept. OK, you don't do it in such a
-
way like somebody who is staging who is staging a drama.
-
Maybe there's a trophy for the person that we OK that that
-
cried the loudest cry or display the the biggest drama I could
-
die without. I went there when my own door
-
your own door in all manners of unsanctified words.
-
Just because you want to desire with somebody that is giving you
-
should not be. But certainly since you carry
-
blood in your own thing too. When something bad happened to
-
somebody, you saw empathy where it's where sympathy you saw it.
-
You feel for the other person, praise the name of the Lord.
-
So try to now both face it that people who are spiritual, OK,
-
you can't cry. No, even the writers do cry.
-
Praise the name of the Lord and #7 is that it is not putting up
-
a Pharisee attitude of external piety devoid of inner purity.
-
No, you have your fallacy attitude that claims to be
-
better than others, whereas you have your own look in your eyes
-
and you are trying to complain about the speck in your
-
brother's eye. So those were the issues we
-
looked at last week and for this week we want to examine
-
practical steps. So I'm going to be giving you
-
practical tit beats, hints or informations that will help you
-
to become very practical in working in the Spirit.
-
Number one, Or to start with, what are the basic understanding
-
that we need about this issue of working in the spirit #1 is that
-
not just any man can walk in the Spirit.
-
This is different from what I said last week, that it is the
-
standard normal Christian life. I'm not contradicting myself.
-
I just want you to understand me properly.
-
So not just any man can walk in the Spirit.
-
Romans 8 verse 7 says because the Cana mind is empty against
-
God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed
-
can be adverse age. So then they that are in the
-
flesh cannot please God. So not just any man can walk in
-
the Spirit. So not just any church goer can
-
claim he's already working in the Spirit.
-
Why? Because there are conditions
-
president to walking in the spirit.
-
So if you don't satisfy those precedent conditions, OK, you
-
you may be faking it. OK, right inside you, you know
-
that it is not really am I talking to somebody?
-
So that conditions President to walking in the Spirit.
-
So walking in the Spirit is an impossible task for the flesh #2
-
and that will begin to lead us to the reason why not just
-
anybody can walk in the spirit. You agree with me perfectly that
-
every child speak the language of his or immediate
-
environments. Hello.
-
If you if you're born an IBO boy into a Yoruba society, the
-
parents are not speaking Yoruba are not speaking IBO.
-
There are no IBO people around speaking IBO.
-
OK. The community where the child is
-
born to, they are predominantly speaking Yoruba naturally.
-
What do you think will happen to the child?
-
The child will speak Yoruba. So every child speak the
-
language of his or immediate environment.
-
In the same way, we are living in a world of wilderness and
-
sinners. So the first tendency for every
-
man is to also be a Sinner. Are you with me?
-
Apart from the fact that there is the inherited scene, the
-
Adamic nature in every man is there.
-
But to compound the matter, if you now live in a godless
-
society, OK, you just discover that you will just tag along.
-
You will Emily, for every child speaks the language of its
-
immediate environment. So what is known as the sinful
-
nature, which in other words is called carnality, which impede
-
our capacity to work in the spirit.
-
OK is both in it and environmental ice plane is in it
-
because every man born of a woman is a Sinner for all I've
-
seen and I've come sort of the glory of God.
-
So there is the same nature in every man that we inherited from
-
Father Adam and it's been passed from generation to generation.
-
So there's the that innate sin in every man.
-
Then couple with the fact that the society is full of
-
ungodliness. So the sinful nature that
-
everybody carries that endow us from walking in the Spirit is
-
both in it. It's also environmental.
-
Hence it is natural for the flesh to disobey the Spirit.
-
So if you walk in the Spirit, certainly there are certain
-
things you must do intentionally, there are certain
-
things you must do volitionally, there are certain decisions you
-
must make. And when those precedent
-
conditions are yet to be satisfied, working in the spirit
-
will be very difficult. Am I talking to somebody?
-
Galatians chapter 5. Let's look at 2 verses there, 16
Galatians 5 chapter mention
-
and 17. This I say then walk in the
-
Spirit. So now this instruction is an
-
instruction served, that you must take this step.
-
Walk in the Spirit. I yet shall not fulfill the loss
-
of the flesh, for the flesh losted against the Spirit.
-
You see, our being is in a constant battle.
-
Our being is what's in the constant battle.
-
Whether you realize it or you don't realize it, that there are
-
two different things. The flesh, OK, is lost in
-
against the spirit is the reason the scripture says sometimes the
-
spirit is willing but the body is weak.
-
There's a prompting in your spirit to pray OK, but there's
-
also another whisper that is to go and sleep.
-
So our being is always in a constant battle between the
-
flesh and the spirit and the spirit against the flesh.
-
And these are contrary the one to the other, the flesh and the
-
spirit. OK, They they are two parallel
-
lines that never meet. One is competing to suppress the
-
other. Am I talking to somebody so that
-
you cannot do the things that you would so several?
-
You make up your mind that this is what I want to do, but at the
-
end of the day you are not able to do it.
-
Why? Because the spirit and the
-
flesh, they are in constant battle.
-
Can we move on #3 Because of this constant battle, you will
-
discover that disobedience is in the nature of the flesh.
-
Disobedience is inherent in the flesh.
-
Is the reason they will put an inscription on a freshly painted
-
wall. OK, wet paints do not touch.
-
You will not discover that by the reason of that instruction,
-
do not touch. You will have passed OK if that
-
description was not there, but now that description do not
-
touch, is there, the temptation to touch will not be.
-
So I will now go there and touch.
-
Has it happened to you before? That is the weakness of the law.
-
Hello. The law can only serve
-
instruction. It cannot give the power to you
-
to be. The law will tell you the crime
-
and when you are where you go against the law.
-
OK, it will label you as a criminal, but the law can never
-
justify you another. Does he give you the power or
-
the ability to obey instruction? So in the nature of every man,
-
or in the nature of every man, is the capacity to disobey, the
-
willingness to disobey, because we are in the flesh.
-
Romans 8. Let's take 2 verses there too.
-
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the
-
flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the
-
spirit. For to be carnally minded is
-
dead, but to be spiritually minded is life and words and
-
peace, but that which will give us life and peace is the one we
-
find difficult to submit to. So the flesh has its native
-
attitude. And what is the native attitude
-
of the flesh? Canality.
-
That's what I suppose to say. The native attitude, the natural
-
attitude of the flesh is carnality.
-
To disobey, to do the wrong things, to hit the forbidden
-
things, hello, to put on the unacceptable attitude, to be
-
rebellious, all these are the attitude of the flesh.
-
And this is so because any tree will grow wide.
-
I mean, we grow wide branches that must be constantly prone by
-
the husband man. If you plant any tree, OK, as
-
long as photosynthesis is taking place, sunlight is available
-
where dew is is available, and that is space.
-
You see that the tree will be developing on on all sides.
-
So it's also in the nature of man to be white.
-
It's in the nature of man to live a life that is not checked,
-
a life that is not under control.
-
A life that whatever I want to do, I would do.
-
Whatever I want to have, I will have.
-
Whatever I want to eat, I should eat.
-
Whatever I want to go, I should go.
-
No control. So as far as the flesh is
-
concerned, it cannot submit to God on his own.
-
The flesh can never decide one day and say, let me go and
-
submit to God. It cannot do it.
-
So what is the solution? The solution is not trying
-
harder in the flesh. We are trying harder in the
-
flesh. You just discovered that it's
-
mere religion that will not help you.
-
The solution is relying on the Holy Spirit.
-
Relying on the Holy Spirit. Thank God for moral upbringing.
-
The best that the moral upbringing can do, or the best
-
that moral upbringing can do, is to suppress the flesh.
-
It cannot tame the flesh. Moral upbringing cannot subdue
-
the flesh. By moral upbringing you will now
-
discover that what is bad that you should not do.
-
You avoid doing it in the public, but you end up doing it
-
in the secrets. Am I talking to somebody?
-
Oh, marital fidelity? Yes, you have one wife, but many
-
secrets are chick that we are hiding somewhere.
-
So it is the moral standard of your society that is making you
-
not to multiply wives, Are you understanding what I'm saying?
-
Ditto for some alcoholic individual, including people
-
preaching on the pulpit. So they will not go to be a
-
parlour to go and drink, OK, I went.
-
When you enter their living room or their kitchen, you will not
-
find the alcoholic drink there. But there is a small
-
refrigerator inside their bedroom.
-
So they do their own drinking inside their bedroom.
-
So morale bringer has helped them not to be doing it
-
publicly, OK, but it cannot help them OK to avoid it completely.
-
Am I talking to somebody? So the flesh can submit to God
-
on its own. So the solution to tame the
-
flesh is not in try harder in the flesh.
-
It is relying on the Holy Spirit.
-
Moral training can only suppress the flesh, it cannot subdue it.
-
So moral training, I'm not saying it's not necessary, it's
-
not important, I'm not saying it's not helpful.
-
But we must also identify the weakness of moral bringing.
-
Moral training is a palliative that is only supportive to the
-
Holy Spirit. To me, I call that a palliative
-
that is supportive to the Holy Spirit.
-
But for you to rely completely or moral or bringing to subdue
-
the flesh, it doesn't have that capacity.
-
Say I need the Holy Spirit, I can't hear you.
-
Well, Galatians 5, let's take 2 verses from that passage too.
-
And then our Christs have crucified the flesh with the
-
affections and lost. You know I said not just any man
-
can walk in the Spirit. That was our starting point,
-
that was our entry point. Not just any man can walk in the
-
Spirit because there are conditions president to it.
-
They are prerequisites. So I am beginning to see now
-
what are the prerequisites, he said.
-
And they that are Christ have crucified the flesh.
-
So you must belong to Christ before you can crucify the flesh
-
with the affections and laws. That was why after Apostle Paul
-
met the Lord Jesus Christ, he said all those things that he
-
counted as game, all those things he counted as player, all
-
those things that were his pride, He now regarded them as
-
dunks. They no longer matter to him.
-
Praise the name of the Lord. If we live in the Spirit, let us
-
also work in the spirits. Now to drive this issue deeper
-
for clearer understanding, let me draw a few analogies for us 1
-
parents that are in the house. Was there any time you
-
intentionally sit down? Your child?
-
That my child, this is how to lie and cover hope where you do
-
the wrong things, as are my parents.
-
Such periods don't belong here. Am I talking to somebody?
-
Well, if you want to ask yourself, even before your child
-
starts to go to school to be influenced by friends, they
-
already lie and doing things and comfortable.
-
So who taught them the sinful nature?
-
Am I talking to somebody? Because the sinful nature is
-
inherent in every man. So a parent need not make any
-
deliberate effort to teach a child all the wrong things.
-
In fact, they will do some wrong things.
-
And you begin to wonder and, you know, begin you you become
-
worried and concerned. People let you, Cockney.
-
But let it be really well. Or what?
-
I let it back. Cosillo.
-
Yeah. Cosillo.
-
Baba. Cosillo.
-
So apparently not make any deliberate effort to teach a
-
child all the wrong things. So without intentionally
-
training the child, a child on his or her own can learn.
-
Not only learn, can also invent all the wrong things.
-
Because the worst of us come from inside of us, not for the
-
things around us. The worst part of a man is
-
inside that man is not in on his look.
-
That's why a man can look completely gentle and is the
-
worst criminal running guns. Where is the charitable man
-
around Is the best uncle around that Some people will even want
-
to say, I want my child to be mentored by this uncle.
-
But when the news now comes out, I will now discover that is a
-
hard drug dealer is running girl, if you say you know Jio,
-
are you connecting with me? So to instill good conduct in
-
the child, the parent must be intentional about it.
-
So the other one that is wrong OK is in their nature is also
-
present in their environment. They will pick it up.
-
But if one good outcome spiritually and morally from
-
your child, you must be intentional about instilling the
-
right values, the right values, communicating ethical standard
-
to them and demonstrating it to them.
-
You have to be intentional about it.
-
We are broadcasting more. The reason why working in the
-
spirit doesn't come natural. It doesn't come what's natural.
-
There are conditions president to it.
-
If those conditions are not satisfied, it becomes difficult
-
to work in the spirit. Let's move from human Kingdom to
-
even animal Kingdom. Do you know that no animal chose
-
to be a pet? Go and check it all those animal
-
you now find in our homes and we keep them as pet.
-
They didn't choose to be a pet. Somebody brought them home at a
-
point at A at a very long time in history and released them.
-
In fact, in modern time there are some of them that they have
-
to carry out, some about technological activity on their
-
own moon and other tendencies OK to subdue them so that they can
-
become domesticated. Otherwise that wide nature is in
-
every man to range around. So no animal chose to be a pet.
-
It is by the deliberate effort of man that will not have
-
domestic animals. What does that suggest?
-
If you leave the natural man to himself, without the Holy
-
Spirit, every man is capable of doing the unthinkable.
-
Did you hear that? Some of you, you only need a
-
push by an ungodly friend and you do things and people say,
-
yeah, so you have the capacity to do this manner of evil.
-
So if you leave the natural man to himself, he won't come to
-
church to hear the word of God, he won't attend Bible study, he
-
won't read his Bible. OK, Leave the natural man to
-
him. Say, without the Holy Spirit,
-
every man is capable of doing the unthinkable.
-
I'll give you the example of Moses, regarded as the meekest
-
man, but in the moment of anger he misbehaved and he provoked
-
God. Are you with me?
-
Has it not happened that a lady that you think is the best kind
-
of wife, that any man we pray for his for, for his son.
-
Are you with me? And then suddenly you hear that
-
the lady got provoked and stabbed the husband.
-
I begin to worry when they say I can't believe no sister.
-
So, so, so, so. No, no, no, no, no, no.
-
She's too quiet to do that. It happens because you leave
-
every man to himself. Without the help of the Holy
-
Spirit. Every man can do the
-
unthinkable. So we find mostly the meekest
-
man, just in a moment of anger he misbehave to the degree that
-
God said I can't take this. Someone who says 2 verses again
-
32 and 33. They angered him also at the
-
water of strife. If you read another person
-
called the water of Meribah, so that it went I'll with Moses for
-
their sakes, because they provoke his spirit.
-
So that is back on adversely with his lips.
-
OC so so because the tendency to be canna is in every man except
-
we are helped by the Holy Spirit.
-
I put an example to you something the strongest man we
-
are like his own weakness. He will not control his liberal
-
inordinate affection. Achieve in him what the entire
-
army of the Philistine could not achieve.
-
Please take note of this, it will help you to watch.
-
Appeal to the flesh is a general weapon the devil uses against
-
all men. So when did they want to get you
-
down? When the devil want to attack
-
you spiritually, when the devil want to make you lose focus of
-
heaven, when the devil want to make you lose your grip of
-
Christ. I start to live the carnal life.
-
What it does is to appeal to your flesh, to Pompey your
-
flesh, to massage your flesh, and the moment you submit, you
-
are gone. May the Lord make you strong and
-
resist whenever the devil is appealing to your flesh in the
-
name of Jesus. Now, what are the practical
-
steps of victory over the works of the flesh?
-
Now down to spelling out the precedent conditions.
-
To walk in the spirit #1 you need salvation.
-
You need salvation and you achieve that by being born
-
again. And when you get born again it
-
position your spirit to obey the dictates of the Holy Spirit.
-
Before you got born again. You are far away from listening
-
and obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit.
-
But the moment you got born again, one of the things that
-
takes place spiritually is a repositioning.
-
You have been far away from God. Now you are drunk closer to God.
-
You have been living outside the room of God.
-
Now you are brought into the bedroom of God.
-
That's what been born again does to you.
-
Are you with me? So you are reposition OK to have
-
access to the Holy Spirit. So what to contribute to your
-
salvation? It's your realization of your
-
sinful nature. So the attitude that everybody
-
is a Sinner and therefore I can constantly know they will not be
-
there. You accept that yes, I'm a
-
sinful person and I'm helpless over this sinful nature, but
-
there is one that can help me. Let me go and join myself to the
-
one that can help me. So your contribution to the
-
salvation of your soul is the acceptance of your sinful nature
-
and willingness to assess the earth that Calvary has provided.
-
So therefore you have a desire to change.
-
So that desire to change is there, not the deceptive
-
attitude. I will confess my sin on Sunday.
-
OK, then I will start to say another set of sin from Monday
-
to Saturday, A desire for a permanent change, not making
-
mockery of the provision of forgiveness, because God cannot
-
be deceived whatsoever. A man saw it, the scripture said
-
that is what he will read. Can we move on now?
-
Having satisfied that condition of salvation of your soul, you
-
now need commitment to sanctification.
-
Salvation is positional. Sanctification is transitional.
-
I don't say transactional, I said transitional.
-
So what's your hand? Once the ticket of salvation is
-
handed over to you, how do you keep it?
-
As you are making progress, you must embrace sanctification
-
because you are not safe to stand in the same position.
-
You are safe after which you start to make spiritual
-
progress, but to stay on the track.
-
It is sanctification that will keep you on the track as you
-
journey home. So you need commitment to
-
sanctification by expressing your willingness to always
-
cooperate with the Holy Spirit who will do the work.
-
You know, we said it's not by try harder that you overcome the
-
flesh. It's not by try harder that you
-
overcome carnality. The way you overcome carnality
-
is by relying on the Holy Spirit.
-
So this, the beginning of your sanctification, is your
-
willingness to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to work in you
-
to and work on you. You see, as salvation, you did
-
not contribute more than believing in your heart and
-
confessing with your mouth to be saved.
-
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
-
saved. That settles it.
-
So in your heart you believe unto righteousness, with your
-
mouth to confess unto salvation. That's Roman 1010 paraphrase.
-
But it doesn't end there. You are on a journey.
-
You will make it. You are a Pickering.
-
You will not fall by the wayside in the name of Jesus.
-
Now for this, let me bring another analogy that will help
-
you to appreciate the concept better.
-
You see our salvation. What happened to you can be
-
likened to starting a car that has been well serviced.
-
No, when a car has been well serviced, the battery is good,
-
there is fuel inside. Everything about the car is is
-
number 1. You know that you did not
-
manufacture the car, somebody has put the fuel inside it then
-
be an automatic car as soon as you start it, it is ready to
-
move once you engage the gear. But you know that if you start a
-
car and it's the engine is running and you don't engage the
-
gear, will it move? Answer me.
-
So salvation is like you are, you have started a car that is
-
sound, that can move but it will not move if you don't engage the
-
gear. So being an automatic car, as
-
soon as you start it is ready to move once you engage the car
-
that made the gear. Now after you engage the gear,
-
it will move, will it not? But not in an accelerated mood.
-
Once we engage the gear, if it's an arithmetic wire, it will move
-
on its own accord, but the movement will not be in an
-
accelerated mood except you press Is it the turtle or what
-
do you call it now? So you will need to press the
-
turtle for the movement to be accelerated.
-
So starting the car is is salvation, pressing the tortue
-
is sanctification. Not only that, the movement of
-
the car must be tailored is the reason every car has with
-
steering. You start the car, you engage
-
the gear. OK.
-
It will move on its own accord in the direction it is facing.
-
Are you with me? And if it's reverse, you put it
-
still in that direction, it will it will be moving when you press
-
the torto. Pressing the torto does not
-
change the direction, but it may not be heading in the right
-
direction. It may be heading towards danger
-
is the reason there is what this the this channel.
-
So the whist channel is the reason the car is not just going
-
in any direction but in the specific or directed direction.
-
So in the same manner, without the Holy Spirit, a born again
-
child of God will misbehave. So you can be born again and you
-
see misbehave if you don't allow the Holy Spirit to pilot the
-
affairs of your life. That brings us to Romans 814.
-
As many as are laid by the Spirit of God, they are the sons
-
of God. So your salvation, therefore, is
-
preserved or sustained by sanctification.
-
Your salvation is preserved by sanctification and
-
sanctification, like I said, is submitted to the Holy Spirit to
-
help you live the Kingdom life. So where you sustain in
-
sanctification? You, it will help you to easily
-
cooperate with the Holy Spirit. Hello, a sanctified mind, OK?
-
It's the only kind of mind that can cooperate with the Holy
-
Spirit. So sustained sanctification is
-
not achievable outside obedience to the Word of God and the
-
assistance of the Holy Spirit. So it was to say your
-
sanctification. Then there must be obedience to
-
the Word of God. And then you must also rely on
-
the assistance of the Holy Spirit.
-
So to work in the Spirit, you must accept salvation.
-
That is a free offer. You must receive the Holy
-
Spirit. But let me make it clear, a very
-
strong clarification here. If you understand what we are
-
teaching, you will know that you don't receive the Holy Spirit
-
just to speak in tongue, and it ends there.
-
Speaking in tongue is only the commonest evidence of the
-
baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is not the only evidence.
-
In fact, it's not the most reliable evidence.
-
Are you with me? It is what the commonest.
-
Even when you study Acts of the Apostle where we have records of
-
baptism of the Holy Spirit, it's only in few places that the
-
Bible say they receive the Holy Spirit are not mentioned at the
-
speaking. They speak in tongue.
-
So it is the commonest evidence, but it's not the only evidence.
-
In fact, personally, I don't take it as the most reliable.
-
The most reliable evidence is the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
-
So if instantaneous when we minister the Holy Spirit to you,
-
OK, and you speak in tongues, we will be glad that you have
-
exercised the situational or the immediate evidence as a
-
disciple. We will now begin to watch out.
-
Are you listening to me? Is this still real or fake?
-
So what we prove to us is this real is where you begin to
-
manifest the fruit of the Spirit.
-
But if it is just the speaking in tongue, OK, you can still use
-
that same tongue to cause conveniently.
-
You can still use that same tongue to lie conveniently.
-
That's not checking your spirit. I refuse to accept your speaking
-
in tongue as a correct one. So let's stop.
-
Let's stop deceiving ourselves. The commonest evidence,
-
instantaneous evidence. It gladdens our hearts OK, But
-
we will watch what follows the way you the day you plant a seed
-
is not that same day, OK? You will have first the fruits.
-
So the most level evidence is the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
-
But let me still make this second clarification.
-
Speaking in tongue is a necessity for spiritual warfare.
-
I told you that in our being OK, we are constantly in spiritual
-
warfare. The flesh is warning against the
-
Spirit. The Spirit is warning against
-
the flesh, one of the spiritual instrument.
-
You used to fight the battles by speaking in tongues.
-
Because sometimes you just have been prompted to speak in
-
tongues and you start to speak in tongues and before you know
-
what is happening, you have escaped a danger.
-
Sometimes as a prompting you to speak in tongues.
-
And as you are speaking in tongue, before you know what's
-
happening, few days after, you'll be exposed to a
-
temptation you will not know that you have, you will not know
-
why you escape because you do not prepare for it.
-
But the tongue you spoke last week, the tongue you spoke in
-
the morning when you were praying, as prepare you to pray
-
against the unseen. Are you with me?
-
So it's a necessity because we are constantly in spiritual
-
warfare and most of the warfare we are, they are unknown to us.
-
So it's a necessity for spiritual warfare.
-
Every believer is in constant warfare.
-
But don't let our baptism of the Holy Spirit, our engagement of
-
the Holy Spirit, start ahead with only speaking in tongue.
-
Let that Holy Spirit we have received walk on us, walk in US,
-
and make us a change person bearing the fruits of the
-
Spirit. So to walk in the Spirit as we
-
draw the curtain on this topic this morning, you must commit to
-
progressive sanctification, Commit towards progressive
-
sanctification, commit to aggressive prayer, including
-
praying in tanks. Three, get addicted to reading
-
the Word of God and obeying it. So in a timely scale or not
-
sure, working in the Spirit require your cooperation and you
-
must equally take deliberate steps.
-
Walk in the Spirit is an instruction is not a promise.
-
What in the Spirit is a precept is not a prophecy.
-
What in the Spirit are you will not fulfill the desires of the
-
flesh. So it's a demand on you to be
-
deliberate, to be intentional about your relationship with
-
your Maker. Philidor chapter 2 2 verses
-
again to seal or sum it up. Philippines chapter 2 verse 12
-
and 13. Wherefore my beloved, as you
-
have always obey, I pray that I will be able to say this about
-
you. I pray that the only people we
-
able to say this about me that as I have always obeyed.
-
What is your testimony? If you ask your pastor, OK, can
-
you say you have always obeyed when they pick on your parents?
-
OK, to ask about you, to give an attestation about you, Will I be
-
able to say as you have always obeyed?
-
One of the parameter by which walking in the street is mayor
-
is through the parameter of obedience, Obedience to the word
-
of God, obedience to authority, obedience to instruction.
-
Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my
-
presence only you know this is a level beyond Mora.
-
Mora that only care about public image, whereas the private life
-
is. Rodney, I cited examples to you
-
of how Mora can be so weak in making the man to tame the
-
flesh. Mora we make him to not drink in
-
the public but will be drinking in his bedroom.
-
Mora we make him not to multiply wife, but if we keep multiple
-
side things in every city you always go to for vacation.
-
But keep it away from public knowledge.
-
Not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence.
-
Work out your own salvation so you have a path.
-
So what's going to say here? Work.
-
Actual salvation. It doesn't mean you will get
-
salvation by work. But like I said, at that point,
-
when you get the salvation, you are moving on.
-
You must be committed to sanctification.
-
So that work OK is sanctification.
-
With fear I watch, trembling. What they say, what they say I
-
know movement once the password about born in about Boko, for it
-
is God which worketh in you both to win and to do of his good
-
player. So I have not preached religion,
-
I have no preservation by work, but I have prayed to you how you
-
can cooperate with the Holy Spirit to bring out the best
-
that God wants you to be, to bring you to that level whereby
-
you are you can become like Christ.
-
To bring you to that level whereby obeying the Word of God
-
will no longer be a struggle, whereby you will not just be
-
suppressing the same nature, but by the Holy Spirit you will
-
subdue the flesh and walk in the Spirit.
-
God bless you and grant you great grace to walk in the
-
Spirit in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah.
-
We believe you'll be blessed by the ministry of this message.
-
You will do well to be the doer of all you've heard.
