  1. You're very welcome to today's Triumph Church podcast.

  2. We pray that you enjoy the message.

  3. Thank you. Thank you.

  4. Wow, what an honor to be here and be in your beautiful

  5. country. Can I tell you something you

  6. have? A beautiful country.

  7. We've been here for 9 days, 10 days and we haven't seen an ugly

  8. place yet. And I'm going to tell you, we

  9. haven't seen ugly people. Yet.

  10. Well, there might have been 2IN Dingle, but other than that they

  11. were on the line whether they were ugly or not.

  12. Every The country is so beautiful, so green.

  13. Oh my goodness, I wish every day I get up I have to fight envy

  14. because my yard does not look like any yard here.

  15. Any field. Your roads are mostly green

  16. compared to my yard. And it it is just at we have had

  17. the time of our life. Last week we got the to minister

  18. at Pastors Amy's parents church and it's just it's it's just you

  19. just have absolute beautiful country and it's we have known

  20. pastors Brad and Amy for known about them for years, many

  21. years. We are dear friends with their

  22. pastors, Mark and Janet Brizzy and we would see them from a

  23. distance and I get their newsletters and things of that

  24. nature and we've just admired them for years.

  25. A young couple would leave the comforts of the States and come

  26. to a land that they know nobody in and and have no roots in.

  27. But they come because the Lord sent them and and and have set

  28. up home and have this has become their home and you have loved

  29. them and we just we honor you. We honor you and it, it's so

  30. wonderful to see the greatest young man in all of Ireland,

  31. Aiden and, and, and the reason we know that's because his

  32. grandmother told us and she said, you get to see my

  33. beautiful, my handsome, talented, brilliant, smart

  34. grandson. And I'm thinking, my God, this

  35. is his father, son, Holy Ghost. And Aiden, I mean, it's, that's

  36. the order and he hasn't disappointed me yet.

  37. Yes, yesterday pastors Brad and Amy took us, showed us around,

  38. showed us several things and was so fortunate to get to have a

  39. meal with them. And Aiden didn't get to go.

  40. He had to have tea with his baby sister.

  41. Now I'm going to tell you what an 18 year old that willingly

  42. has tea with his baby sister. You are part of the Trinity.

  43. I guarantee you we don't see that in the States.

  44. Tea. I ain't having tea with that

  45. brat, you know, and the name you know.

  46. So it's just such a such an honor to be here.

  47. Let me tell you about this book. If you know Trinity College here

  48. in your Trinity College and Manuth University did a study in

  49. 2023 that came out at the end of 2023.

  50. That tells us that 42% of all adults in Ireland are dealing

  51. with some type of mental health issue. 42% that's not, that's

  52. your university's. Trinity College and Manuka

  53. University did a study. 42% of all adults in Ireland are

  54. dealing with some mental health issue and they think it's higher

  55. than that because they do know this.

  56. And this is true in every nation that the majority of people who

  57. are struggling never seek treatment.

  58. They're either ashamed or scared or don't know how to seek

  59. treatment for some type of mental health issue.

  60. And so they really don't know what the numbers are.

  61. That 42% are those numbers that they know of it because those

  62. people have sought some type of treatment.

  63. And when we talk about mental health issues, we're not

  64. talking. Most people think, well, they're

  65. just crazy. They're we're not talking about

  66. that. We're talking about depression.

  67. We're talking about being bipolar.

  68. We're talking about dramatic mood swings that it hinders you

  69. from being your best on certain days.

  70. We're talking about fears, phobias.

  71. We're talking and many of the people because sometimes the

  72. weather, a lot of the time the weather might not have the sun.

  73. We've been blessed with sun this week, but a lot of people here

  74. struggle with the lack of sun here and it makes them feel

  75. gloomy. And so it could be

  76. schizophrenia, multi personality disorders, it could be some type

  77. of family situation that your family, your grandmother was

  78. depressed, your mama's struggle with depression or daddy

  79. struggled with depression and now you're struggling with

  80. depression. It could be a myriad of

  81. different ailments. Anything that affects us

  82. mentally that hinders us from being our best for God.

  83. Your country, your universities have discovered that 42% of the

  84. adults in this in this nation. And the reason why that is, and

  85. it's true about every nation, the reason about why that is, is

  86. because Satan operates in the arena of thought.

  87. And that's one thing we must learn.

  88. And we Christians have been slow.

  89. We know there's a devil and we talked about spiritual warfare

  90. and we read about it in the book of of Daniel where Daniel prayed

  91. and the Angel came back and said the Prince of Persia or the

  92. demonic personality of Persia, that's over.

  93. Persia has withstood us coming back and giving you the answer

  94. from God. So we get to get this solo

  95. thinking, this focus thing that all spiritual warfare is up in

  96. the heavenlies and we got to pull it down and take authority

  97. over it. And there is spiritual warfare

  98. in the heavenlies. The Bible talks about that.

  99. But the greatest spiritual warfare that happens in our life

  100. takes place between our ears and behind our eyes because Satan

  101. operates in the arena of thought.

  102. He's never showed up at my house, and he'll never show up

  103. at your house in a red devil suit in a pitchfork and ring the

  104. doorbell and say, hey, I'm the devil.

  105. I'm here to torment you. How does he come?

  106. How does he mess with us? How does he tempt us?

  107. He tempt us in our thought life. And here's how.

  108. Here's how. How a creative he has learned to

  109. be is that he'll get on one side of your shoulder and whisper a

  110. thought in your ear and then immediately come around the

  111. other side on the other side and whisper this thought.

  112. If you were really a Christian, you wouldn't be thinking that.

  113. Yet He's the one that put it in your mind.

  114. And I didn't understand these truths, and I didn't understand

  115. the five simple truths I'm going to share with you this morning.

  116. And when I was 29 years old, my grandmother was a frequent guest

  117. patient at a mental hospital. Back years ago, they in America,

  118. they called them insane asylums. OK, where they just and years

  119. ago, the compassion care for those people struggling mentally

  120. wasn't as compassionate as it is today.

  121. Back then, when my grandmother was alive and struggling with

  122. it, they just put people away, out of sight, out of mind, and

  123. she was in a mental hospital. My aunt, her daughter, spent

  124. time in the same mental hospital.

  125. My dad struggled with mental health issues.

  126. And I thought growing up, I thought they were.

  127. Weak. I thought they were just being

  128. lazy, get out of bed, go to work.

  129. Stopped acting that way. I just thought because it never

  130. affected me. And then, at the age of 29, out

  131. of the clear blue, a spirit of depression got on me.

  132. And I wouldn't. I didn't hardly leave my house.

  133. For a solid. Year because of paranoia and I

  134. couldn't turn my mind off. Terrible, harassing, tormenting,

  135. unhealthy, impure, faults racing through my mind, Fearful

  136. thoughts racing through my mind. I never slept over 3 hours a

  137. night. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't get

  138. my mind to turn off. And it was during that one year

  139. period that the Lord began to teach me how to break that thing

  140. over our family and how to overcome thought attacks and

  141. this spirit of mental health crises that had been running

  142. through my family. And that's where this book came

  143. from, conquering the chaos in your mind.

  144. It's literally my story and how the Lord appeared to me and

  145. taught me some things and how I went to heaven once and, and he

  146. shared with me some things about I'm why I'm here today.

  147. He showed me that this would be my ministry.

  148. So everywhere I go nationally or internationally, I teach on the

  149. fault life because I'm under mandate to do that to help

  150. people get free. So if you would like this book,

  151. you can get it back. There's just my story.

  152. I'm not here to sell books. If you don't have the money and

  153. would like to have it, you don't have the money, just grab you

  154. one. Just grab you one.

  155. OK, We have in America they call grab it and go.

  156. So they go, they go into department stores and whatever

  157. they want, they grab it and go, well, don't grab it and go tell

  158. somebody back there I'm grabbing it.

  159. And then you go, OK, but, but they are, I think they're $15

  160. euro. But if you'd like 1, you can get

  161. them back there or you can just take one.

  162. If you don't have the money, we'd love to give it to you.

  163. We just want our message is just to get the message out.

  164. Anybody want this one? Anybody, anybody want this one?

  165. I'm I've got it up here. Anybody want?

  166. Nobody want you want it, sister, You want it?

  167. All right, here you go. You can have it.

  168. Pay the lady back there. 15 year olds OK.

  169. I'm just kidding, it works every time.

  170. It don't make any. There's what city I'm in, what

  171. nation I'm in. People, suckers fall for that

  172. line every time. 2nd Corinthians chapter 10 For though we walk in

  173. the flesh, we do not war after the flesh.

  174. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty

  175. through God, to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down

  176. imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against

  177. the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every

  178. thought to the obedience of Christ.

  179. Here's something I want you to understand.

  180. If you and I do not take our thoughts captive, our thoughts

  181. will take us captive either. You and I will take our thoughts

  182. captive, or our thoughts. Will take us captive.

  183. How many of you have, like me in the past, have had a thought get

  184. in your mind and it just ruined your day?

  185. It might have ruined your week and then you found out later

  186. that that which was ruining you. That thought wasn't even

  187. accurate at all. It was inaccurate information,

  188. or that fear that paralyzed you for a week, or a day, or maybe a

  189. month. Turned out it never

  190. materialized. It never happened what you were

  191. scared of and the thoughts that were tormenting you never came

  192. into reality. See, we have to learn this

  193. truth. Satan operates in the arena of

  194. thought and we have a choice as believers in the Lord Jesus

  195. Christ. Because remember what Jesus said

  196. in Luke chapter 10. Behold, I give you authority

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  197. over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means

  198. hurt you. And where Satan's power lies is

  199. by putting deceptive thoughts in our minds and we grabbing hold

  200. of those and believing that. So we have to take every thought

  201. captive. It's not a suggestion, it's a

  202. commandment from the Lord. And 2nd Corinthians chapter 10,

  203. Satan operates in the arena of thought.

  204. Let me show it to you again from the Scripture.

  205. Turn with me. You have your Bibles.

  206. Turn with me to 2nd Corinthians chapter 4. 2nd Corinthians

  207. chapter 4 verses 3 and 4. Second Corinthians chapter 4

    2 Corinthians 4:3

  208. verses 3 and 4. I'm just going to read it from

  209. the new King James Version. I like them all, but it's just

  210. the one I happened to pull up. Listen to what the Apostle Paul

  211. says to Christians. He's talking to Christians now.

  212. He's not talking to sinners. He's not talking to people that

  213. that are drunkards. He's not talking to people that

  214. are heathens. He's talking to Christians.

  215. Bible believing spirit filled Christians in Corinth.

  216. Amanda and I was just back there in Corinth in October of this

  217. past year. We were there and and taught

  218. over in Corinth. But listen to what he says.

  219. If our gospel is veiled one translation, I think the King

  220. James. Says if our gospel is hid, it is

  221. veiled to those who are perishing.

  222. Now notice this. Why are they perishing?

  223. Why is the gospel veiled or hid from those who are perishing?

  224. Whose minds? Everybody say they're mine,

  225. mine. Who's mine?

  226. Who's mine? The God of this world has

  227. blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel, of

  228. the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on

  229. them. The Bible tells us here that

  230. Satan operates in the arena of thought.

  231. Have you ever talked to a friend, a family member, and

  232. witness to them about Jesus, told them about Jesus, and they

  233. just looked at you or responded like we're crazy?

  234. What are you talking about? That's the craziest things.

  235. And yet you think about it. We serve a God who came to

  236. earth, left all of his wonderful glory and riches, and came to

  237. earth and became a man, never sinned, and paid the price for

  238. our eternal judgement so we could spend an eternity with God

  239. in heaven. And he offers it to us free of

  240. charge, Salvation free of charge.

  241. Who in their right mind would not accept such a wonderful

  242. gift? Christianity is such an amazing

  243. and wonderful gift. Why wouldn't anybody want to be

  244. a Christian? Why would if God says, I'll,

  245. I'll bless you with all the blessings of heaven?

  246. Why wouldn't anybody want the blessings of heaven?

  247. And yet we talk to people and they'll just look at us and say

  248. you're crazy. You don't know what you're

  249. talking about. You, you're and they look at you

  250. like we are mad. And they just, they just don't

  251. see it. They can't see it.

  252. Their eyes are blinded. Amanda and I have been to

  253. Israel. We take pastors to Israel.

  254. We've been to Israel 8 times and we'll go over there and we'll

  255. witness to people when in, in certain areas.

  256. We get to witness to people and, and, and they, they're so

  257. friendly and they're so kind, but when it comes to Bible and

  258. they just don't see it. Their eyes are blinded.

  259. Why? Because Satan, the Bible says,

  260. blinds people eyes to the truth, lest the light of the glorious

  261. gospel should come upon them. Notice what he says.

  262. He blinds their minds. No, she didn't say blinds their

  263. hearts. He blinds their minds because

  264. we've got to be able to get it through the mind before he can

  265. ever get to the heart. Satan operates in the arena of

  266. thought and you and I need to understand unless we take our

  267. thoughts captive, our thoughts will take us captive.

  268. So there's five simple little truths that I want to share with

  269. you today and about how to what the word says about your thought

  270. life. First of all, I'll say this.

  271. Did you know that studies have shown us that the average

  272. person, the average person in this room processes neuroscience

  273. has told us the average person in this room processes around

  274. between 50 and 60,000 thoughts a day.

  275. The average person now now brilliant people like brother

  276. Aiden and according to his grandmother and and these two

  277. who are studying physics at at the university, they're

  278. brilliant, brilliant people process according to

  279. neuroscience up to 80. Thousand thoughts a day.

  280. But average people like me and Amanda and and Pastor Brad,

  281. Pastor Amy's a little higher on the scale, but we we do between

  282. process between 50 and 60,000 thoughts a day.

  283. Now, have you ever thought about this?

  284. Did you know they're 86,400 seconds in a day?

  285. 86,400 seconds in a day? And if you're processing 60,000

  286. thoughts a day, did you know you're See, the Bible says we're

  287. fearfully and wonderfully made. Did you know every 1.3 seconds

  288. your brain is processing a thought?

  289. Every 1.3 while we've while I've been standing up here in the

  290. last 15 minutes, I know your brain.

  291. Your brain has processed 1000 thoughts.

  292. I know what you're thinking. Does everybody in Tennessee

  293. tall, dark and handsome like that little fella?

  294. I know what your brains process it, but every 1.3 seconds we're

  295. processing the thought. Now here's what's amazing.

  296. Neuroscientists tell us that out of the 60 thousand thoughts a

  297. day that we process that our brain, 90% of them are

  298. repetitive or the same thought. So if we're processing 60,000

  299. thoughts a day, 90% of them 54,000 of those thoughts are the

  300. same thought repetitive. You say, what do you mean?

  301. Have you ever got a tune, a song stuck in your head and it just

  302. keeps playing over and over and over and over?

  303. I don't know if y'all know this song, but year years ago there

  304. was a song in America and it was a rock from a rock band.

  305. And I know pastors aren't supposed to listen to rock

  306. bands, but have us having a bad day.

  307. So I listen to the rock band and and there's and there was this

  308. song called She's a Brick. House and it was talking about

  309. the the girl's friend's body. She's built like a brick house.

  310. All right, it's not what a pastor needs to be listening to.

  311. OK, but that was years ago. Well, I heard that song few

  312. years ago again just to heard it on a radio station and it

  313. brought back all these memories. Well, I got that song hung in my

  314. mind and I'm humming it. I was at a pastor's lunch and I

  315. was sitting with some pastors and this pastor looked at me.

  316. I didn't realize it. This pastor looked at me and

  317. said, what are you humming? I said, am I humming?

  318. He said, yeah, what are you humming?

  319. And I started humming it a little louder and I.

  320. And I was so embarrassed. I said, I said, that's a new

  321. rendition of Amazing Grace. That's what that is.

  322. So that's called a looping thought.

  323. It's a looping thought. It just keeps over, over and

  324. over and over. We deal with all.

  325. I deal with a lot of people who are struggling with, we call it

  326. PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder.

  327. We deal with a lot of. Military veterans who've been in

  328. war, we deal with a lot of first responders, police officers,

  329. firefighters who've seen some terrible and tragic things, and

  330. they get those looping thoughts because of an accident they have

  331. been to or a terrible moment in their life.

  332. Now, that's just a small segment of society, but we deal every

  333. single day and we get letters and emails from all over the

  334. world of people who've gotten the book.

  335. And they've had a conversation with an ex where he told the

  336. spouse that he'd been unfaithful to her.

  337. And it caused such a traumatic event in her emotions, in her

  338. mind, that she replays that over and over and over again.

  339. Or maybe an employer that tells you that you're being fired or

  340. let go and you remember that over and over and over again.

  341. It doesn't have to be some terrible tragedy or accident.

  342. It can be a betrayal, a moment of betrayal, a moment of fear.

  343. It could be a conversation that you've had that's brought you

  344. such a trauma in your life. But the truth of the matter is

  345. we've all experienced those moments where those thoughts,

  346. those moments of trauma happen in our life.

  347. It could be as a child being abused, molested, but we've all

  348. had moments. And if we're not careful, and if

  349. we don't know how to catch those moments and take those thoughts

  350. captive, those moments will replay over and over and over

  351. again. And what happens is that it

  352. replays over so much that your body and your emotions begin to

  353. react. Every time you see something

  354. that reminds you of that traumatic moment, you hear

  355. something that reminds you of that traumatic moment.

  356. Or even I've had people tell me I get around a place and I

  357. smell. The smells, and it reminds me of

  358. a traumatic moment, all the emotional upheaval that they

  359. experienced maybe years ago. When the moment happens, it

  360. comes back fresh and new all over again.

  361. So we must learn to take our thoughts captive or our thoughts

  362. will take us captive. And here's what the Lord has

  363. taught me about the fault life. 5 simple things that I want to

  364. share with you #1 the direction you and I pursuing life is

  365. totally determined by our thought life.

  366. Your direction, where you're going, Aiden's, Aiden's, Aiden's

  367. wanting to go to university and he's already thinking about it.

  368. You guys have come to the university to study physics

  369. because you thought about it. You you are here today because

  370. you thought about it. See, the direction we pursue in

  371. life is determined by our thought life.

  372. In fact, what you're wearing today, especially you women,

  373. what you're wearing today, you thought about.

  374. In fact, some of you started thinking about it on Thursday.

  375. Well, Sunday I'm gonna wear this.

  376. You probably changed your mind two or three times.

  377. You might have changed your mind this morning, but you thought

  378. about last night. Tomorrow at church, I'm gonna

  379. wear this. See the direction we pursue now,

  380. we men, we're not that way. We don't think about what we can

  381. wear. You can look at us and tell.

  382. We don't think about. We pull a shirt out and give it

  383. a sniff. Oh, that's good.

  384. Let's go see. But the direction we pursue in

  385. life is determined by our thought life.

  386. The let me give you Scripture for that.

  387. Let me give you the Scripture for that.

  388. Turn with me to Romans chapter 8, verse 5.

    Romans 8:5

  389. Romans chapter 8, verse 5. Notice what it says.

    Romans 8:5

  390. Paul's talking to Christians in Rome.

  391. He says for those who live according to the flesh.

  392. If you live according to the flesh, notice what he says.

  393. In the New King James Version, you set your mind on the things

  394. of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set

  395. their minds on the things of the Spirit.

  396. So our direction in life is determined by our thought life.

  397. My question is, what do you been thinking about lately?

  398. What have you been thinking about doing lately?

  399. Where have you been thinking about going lately?

  400. So our direction in life is determined by our thought life.

  401. That's number one. Number two is simply this.

  402. Not only is our direction in life determined by our thought

  403. life, but our quality of life is determined by our thought life.

  404. Not only are you here today because you thought about coming

  405. to church this morning, but the attitude in which you are here

  406. with is the attitude that you've allowed in your thought life.

  407. Not only is our direction in life determined by our thought

  408. life, our quality of life, because let me give you

  409. scripture for that. Look at Romans chapter 8 verse 6

    Romans 8:6

  410. next very verse Romans chapter 8 verse 6 in the new king J the

    Romans 8:6

  411. mind governed by the flesh. The mind governed by flesh,

  412. selfish carnal desires. Notice what it is it's death.

  413. That word death in the original language means empty, lacking

  414. void. The mind governed the mind.

  415. The fault. Life that is governed by

  416. selfish, carnal thoughts is empty, lacking in void.

  417. But the mind governed by the spirit notice is life and peace.

  418. You're mine. See my not only is my direction

  419. determined by my thought life, my quality of life is determined

  420. by my thought life. You choose.

  421. You and I have to understand. We choose what kind of day we're

  422. going to have. Circumstances don't choose it.

  423. Our family doesn't choose it. Our employer doesn't choose it.

  424. The government doesn't choose it.

  425. Listen, the weather doesn't choose it.

  426. We choose what kind of day. The mind governed by the flesh

  427. is death, empty, lacking in boy. The mind governed by the spirit

  428. is life and peace. I can't tell you the number, the

  429. dozens, literally dozens over the years of very wealthy people

  430. who have come to see me and, and, and their wealth.

  431. I mean, some of them super wealthy.

  432. Their, their wealth made their life comfortable.

  433. It made their life more able to have things maybe other people

  434. didn't have. It enabled them to go where they

  435. wanted to go and do what they wanted to do, but their wealth

  436. never gave them Peace of Mind. I can't tell you the number of

  437. wealthy people who've come to me who are who, who have more money

  438. than they ever spend, but they'd give it all away if they had one

  439. night apiece. On the other hand, my

  440. grandmother, my my grandmother on my mom's side, my, my dad's

  441. mother, my grandmother on my dad's side, she's the one that

  442. that's the line that had the mental health problems.

  443. My grandmother on my mom's side, my grandfather was a.

  444. Preacher and and back when preachers, you know, they paid

  445. you in America years ago, many years in groceries here and the

  446. most he ever made as a preacher. I still have his little book was

  447. $42.00 most he ever made for a week.

  448. And so when it came time for we call it Social Security.

  449. What do they call it here in the the the pension things of that

  450. name. She only got 42 dollars $342.00

  451. a month. That's all she got.

  452. And $342 a month from the government.

  453. You. You couldn't.

  454. Live on that and so, but you know what, we would go to see

  455. her and every time we would leave her house, we felt like

  456. kings and priest because she never said a negative word,

  457. never had a bad day. Every missionary would come to

  458. her little church. She made she gave an offering to

  459. because the thought life governed by the flesh.

  460. Like the people who had plenty of money, but they couldn't

  461. control their thought life. They'd give it all away for one

  462. night of peace. Here's my grandmother that

  463. didn't have hardly anything, just barely getting by.

  464. And she was so full of joy and full of life, because the mind

  465. governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

  466. See, not only is our direction in life determined by our

  467. thought life, but our quality of life.

  468. Is determined by our thought life.

  469. And then here's the third thing. Your thoughts.

  470. My thoughts are blueprints for actions.

  471. People tell me have told me this for years.

  472. What doesn't matter what you think, what does matter?

  473. What you think? The Bible doesn't say as a man

  474. does, so is he. The Bible says as a man

  475. thinketh, so is he. It does matter what you think.

  476. Faults are blueprints for actions in the States.

  477. If you're going to build up something, if you're going to

  478. build a house or even a garage or any type of building, you've

  479. got to go to the authorities to get approval to build that, and

  480. you take what they'll ask for you.

  481. We need to see the blueprints, and the blueprints are just

  482. drawings on the paper that gives the authorities the dimensions

  483. of the, the building, where the building's going to be located,

  484. and they approve it if it meets within the codes of the the

  485. area, they approve that. Now, the blueprints are not the

  486. building. You don't eat in the blueprints.

  487. You don't sleep in the blueprints.

  488. The blueprints are just showing you what the building's going to

  489. look like. Well, listen, faults are

  490. blueprints for actions. You keep thinking those same

  491. thoughts long enough, you'll eventually do it.

  492. Remember what I said to you earlier that the average person

  493. thinks 60 processes 60,000 thoughts a day, and that

  494. neuroscientist tell us that 90% are repetitive?

  495. So if we think 60,000 thoughts a day, 54,000 of them are the same

  496. thought. Now that's wonderful.

  497. That's a wonderful truth to know if your thoughts that you're

  498. thinking are you're blessed, God loves you, He wants you well, he

  499. wants you healed. He wants you family well, he

  500. wants you family healed. If you're thinking those kind of

  501. thoughts, 54,000 of them a day would be wonderful.

  502. But if you get those negative. Thoughts.

  503. Go kill that person. Go injure that person.

  504. People ask me all the time how in America, how in the world in

  505. America, can people grab a gun and go into an elementary school

  506. and kill innocent babies? How do they?

  507. Do that because 54,000 times a day for the last week proceeding

  508. they thought it. It was stuck in their mind.

  509. And thoughts are blueprints for actions.

  510. You think it long enough, you're going to act it out.

  511. See, that's why it's so important.

  512. You and I take our thoughts captive.

  513. OK, let me give you a script. I can tell some of you look at

  514. me like you're crazy. No, I got delivered from.

  515. Crazy years ago. Let me, let me give you some

  516. scriptures that prove that to you.

  517. Turn with me to Matthew chapter 15.

    Matthew 15 chapter mention

  518. Matthew chapter 15, verse #17 If if you read your Bible at all,

    Matthew 15 chapter mention

  519. you've read this verse of Scripture and I'd read it for

  520. years and the truth slipped by me until one day the Lord showed

  521. it to me. Look at Matthew chapter 15,

    Matthew 15:17

  522. verse 17. Jesus is talking.

  523. This is this is red letter stuff.

  524. Jesus is talking. He says, do you not yet

  525. understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach

  526. and is eliminated? Now there's no spiritual truth

  527. to that whatsoever. There's no, there's nothing

  528. spiritual about that right there.

  529. I just want you to know I'm just reading it because it's in

  530. there, OK? Literally what he's saying, fish

  531. and chips in, fish and chips out.

  532. That's exactly what he's saying. But look at the truth comes in

  533. verse 18 and 19. But those things which proceed

  534. out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.

  535. Now look at verse 19. For out of the heart proceed

  536. evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications,

  537. thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

  538. These are the things which defile a man.

  539. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.

  540. Now if I was to tell you somebody quote that verse to me,

  541. you'd say for Alba heart proceed murders, adulteries,

  542. fornication, thefts, false witness, blasphemous.

  543. You would quote that like that for Alba heart proceed murders,

  544. adulteries, fornication, thefts with false, false witness and

  545. blasphemous. But notice what he said.

  546. The first thing that comes out of your heart is for out of the

  547. heart. Notice what he says, verse 19.

  548. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts.

  549. Now how can an evil thought come out of your heart?

  550. I don't know what you're thinking.

  551. I don't know what Aiden's thinking.

  552. I don't know what my friends are thinking here.

  553. I don't know what any of you are thinking.

  554. Yet Jesus says for out of the heart, the first thing that

  555. comes out is, is evil thoughts. How can you tell a person's?

  556. Nobody knows what you're thinking, but you and God.

  557. Out of the heart precede evil thoughts.

  558. How do we know what a person's thinking?

  559. Notice out of the heart. Proceed evil thoughts, murders,

  560. adultery's fornica. You know, murder begins with a

  561. thought. Adultery begins with a thought.

  562. Fornication begin. Why?

  563. Because thoughts are blueprints for actions.

  564. You think it long enough, you're going to act on it.

  565. You're going to do it. It's going to become a reality

  566. in your life. I get calls quite often from

  567. businessmen and business women. Who travel for their work,

  568. they're in a H2 or three nights a week and out there in this

  569. world, it's a very sensual, seductive world and good

  570. Christian godly men and women will call me and say pastor,

  571. it's seductive, sensual. How can I stay faithful to my

  572. wife? How can I stay faithful to my

  573. husband? I'm around people of the

  574. opposite sex all day long. I'm I'm, I'm eating with them.

  575. We are doing social dinners, we're doing business dinners

  576. and, and we spend more time with them than I do with my, my own

  577. family many weeks of the year. How can I maintain my my honesty

  578. and and faithfulness to my family?

  579. And it's very simple. You don't think it, you don't go

  580. there in your thought life. You will not go there in your

  581. actions because thoughts are blueprints for actions.

  582. Every sin that you and I have committed, it began with a

  583. fault. We entertain the fault, and then

  584. the thought became an action. So number one, our direction in

  585. life is determined by our thought life #2 our quality of

  586. life is determined by our thought life #3 Our thoughts are

  587. blueprints for actions #4 As Christians, how many of you are

  588. believers in Jesus Christ? Raise your hand.

  589. Yeah, thank you. As Christians, you and I are

  590. commanded to be the gatekeepers of our thought life.

  591. It's not your pastor's jobs, not your spouse's jobs, not your

  592. parents. Job.

  593. It's not the government's job. It's not social media's job.

  594. You and I are commanded to be the gatekeepers.

  595. Of our thought life. Look at Romans chapter 12 verse

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  596. one and two, Romans chapter 12 verses one and two.

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  597. In Romans chapter 12, verses one and two, it says in the new King

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  598. James, Romans 12/1 and two. I beseech you therefore,

  599. brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a

  600. living sacrifice wholly acceptable to God, which is your

  601. reasonable service, and do not be conformed to this world, but

  602. be transformed by the renewing of your What's that next word

  603. mine that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and

  604. perfect will of God. Do you realize he's talking to

  605. believers. He's talking to people who've

  606. made Jesus the Lord of their life.

  607. He's talking to people who've been delivered from the power of

  608. darkness translated into the Kingdom of God's dear Son.

  609. He's talking to people who've been filled with the Spirit.

  610. He's talking to people who've been discipled by the apostle

  611. Paul personally. And he said, now once you give

  612. your heart to Jesus, you've got two things you're supposed to

  613. do. You got to keep your fleshed

  614. under control, and you got to make sure your mind changes the

  615. way it thinks. See, we are commanded to be the

  616. gatekeepers. Of our thought life.

  617. And see what happens. A lot of us, we give our heart

  618. to Christ. We get changed here, but we

  619. never get this changed. We still think the same way.

  620. Have you, have you? The apostle Paul said it this

  621. way. It's amazing what he's he said

  622. it this way. He says the things I don't want

  623. to do, I end up doing. And he says the things I wished

  624. I would do, I don't do them. And he says, oh, wretched man

  625. that I am, who deliver? Who would deliver me from this

  626. body of death? I don't know about you, but I

  627. have a struggle every day with my flesh.

  628. Have you? I struggle and you guys are so.

  629. Polite in traffic? I've never seen that politeness

  630. in all my life. I honestly, I'm, I'm, I'm not

  631. blowing smoke here. I mean, people will let you out

  632. in the middle of traffic. They'll let, they'll stop and

  633. let you turn and cut them off. In America, you don't do that.

  634. It's every man for himself. If you get out, you got to bully

  635. your way out. Or you wait till the end of the

  636. line, 2 hours later, that's when you're getting out.

  637. You folks are the most kind people.

  638. I need your patience when it comes to driving.

  639. Because if somebody cuts me off in traffic, my flesh wants to

  640. pull up beside them, shake my fist.

  641. What do you mean cutting me off in traffic?

  642. And here's my greatest driving. I hate people drive in America.

  643. We drive on the right y'all drive on the left, so your fast

  644. lanes the right correct our fast lanes the left peep in America

  645. people's driving slow in the fast lane.

  646. Oh brother, that incites my flesh to the point that I want

  647. to go Antichrist on them. I mean, it's, it's just here,

  648. it's driving fast, slow in the right lane.

  649. And, and you know, when that happens and you understand this,

  650. there will be things happening in your, your flesh wants

  651. revenge. Somebody says something hurtful

  652. to you and your flesh wants to respond with something hurtful

  653. to them. Somebody says something to you.

  654. And and and and and stabs. You with a with a comment or

  655. with a joke or something and you want to stab them back.

  656. Somebody does you wrong and you want your flesh wants to get

  657. revenge. See that's our flesh, but our

  658. spirit man that's been born again.

  659. When they cut me off in traffic, my flesh says drive around them,

  660. cut them off and wave your fist in their face.

  661. That's my flesh. My spirit man says let him go be

  662. Irish, let them go be nice to them.

  663. Don't drive up beside them and just forgive them and let them

  664. go. Be patient.

  665. See, there's this constant, there's this constant tension.

  666. There's this constant pull every day of our lives between our

  667. flesh wanting to go selfish and revengeful and hurtful, and our

  668. spirit that has Jesus wants to walk in love, kindness and

  669. forgiveness. Every day there's this tension.

  670. It's tension and you and I have to decide, are we going to

  671. follow our flesh? Are we going to follow our

  672. spirit, our heart that's born again?

  673. Paul says it like this. He says we have this treasure,

  674. this born again experience, this salvation experience in an

  675. earthen vessel. See, our spirit is born again,

  676. but our flesh is not born again. We got to keep it under control.

  677. So you've got your flesh pulling you towards sin and selfishness.

  678. You got your spirit that's born again, that's pulling you toward

  679. righteousness in Christ and love and forgiveness and it's one

  680. against one. Just do the numbers.

  681. It's a. Fight every day.

  682. Your flesh fighting against your spirit, your flesh wanting to

  683. cuss them out, your spirit wanting to love them out.

  684. I mean, it's just a there's just this tension every day.

  685. And the arbitrator, the one who will determine which direction

  686. you go. Is your soul, your mind, your

  687. will and emotions? And if your mind has been

  688. renewed with the word of God, guess what will happen when that

  689. temptation comes? When that injury comes?

  690. Your mind, which has been renewed with the Word of God.

  691. Will be reminded of God's scripture to walk in love, walk

  692. in forgiveness, walk in mercy and your your soul will hook up

  693. with your spirit and guess what? Two against 1A win.

  694. Every time people ask me I'll tell how can Christian people do

  695. such sinful things? I know they love Jesus because

  696. they ain't got their mind renewed.

  697. See their flesh, all your flesh will always want to do bad, and

  698. your spirit will always want to do right.

  699. It's who you got if you got your mind renewed or not.

  700. Because if you're, if you have Jesus in your heart wanting to

  701. do good and your flesh is wanting to do bad, but your

  702. mind's not renewed with the word of God.

  703. And that temptation comes. All of a sudden you don't have

  704. any scriptures to come to mind. And all of a sudden your mind

  705. will just jump in with your flesh.

  706. Yeah, get them back. Yeah, talk about them.

  707. Yeah, get revenge on them. Yeah, hurt them back.

  708. And all of a sudden, 2 An unrenewed mind.

  709. And a selfish flesh will win every time against the Spirit of

  710. God that's on the inside of you. So this, this battle that takes

  711. place, that's why you and I are the gatekeepers of our minds and

  712. our thought life. That's why the Bible says get

  713. your mind renewed with the word of God.

  714. And you do that every day by being a disciple of reading,

  715. reading the word of God, committing the word of God to

  716. your mind and into your heart. Finally, the fifth thing,

  717. because I'm getting hungry. The fifth thing is simply this.

  718. More fish and chips and seafood chowder.

  719. Hallelujah. If you don't remember anything

  720. else I've said, and I'm said a lot, thank you.

  721. You're so kind, you're so patient, attentive.

  722. The fifth thing is this, if you don't remember anything else I

  723. say remember this. You don't have to take ownership

  724. of every thought that pops in your mind.

  725. Have you ever had a what I call a rogue thought?

  726. I mean, you, you'd be just doing nothing in particular and just

  727. having a good day. And all of a sudden now the

  728. clear blue, the craziest, dirtiest, unhealthy, fearful

  729. thought, or just pop in your mind and you'll say, man, where

  730. did that come from? Where did that thought come from

  731. years ago? That's what sent me into my

  732. depression. A terrible, impure and unhealthy

  733. thought popped in my mind out of the clear blue.

  734. And I thought because it popped in my mind, it came from me.

  735. You do not have to take ownership of every thought that

  736. pops in your mind. Satan operates in the arena of

  737. thought #1 The direction we pursue in life is determined by

  738. our thought life #2 Not only is the direction we pursue, but the

  739. quality of life is determined by our thought life #3.

  740. Our thoughts are blueprints for actions #4 You and I are the

  741. gatekeepers of our thoughts. We must keep our mind renewed

  742. with the Word of God. And finally #5 you don't have to

  743. take ownership of every thought that pops in your mind.

  744. If an unhealthy, fearful, revengeful, tormenting, doubtful

  745. thought pops in your mind, you don't have to say, well, that

  746. must be me thinking that you just say no, I don't.

  747. I resist that thought. I will not receive that thought

  748. that did not come from my born again, spirit filled spirit.

  749. That's from the devil. And I'll not have it and it will

  750. not entertain it in my mind. But if you ever take ownership

  751. of that thought, then you'll start thinking I'm terrible, I'm

  752. dirty, I'm ugly. See, I can't tell you the young

  753. ladies who have been in our prayer lines and services,

  754. hundreds of services, who when they walk up and they'll say,

  755. I'll say, what are we praying about?

  756. And they say, I just have such a low self esteem.

  757. I said, what do you mean? You have a well, I've just

  758. always believed I'm ugly and they're beautiful, absolutely

  759. beautiful. But because they took ownership

  760. of a rogue fault, it affected not only their direction, but

  761. their quality of life. And you don't have to take

  762. ownership of every thought that pops in your mind.

  763. Amen. Thank you for being so

  764. attentive, Josh. I see why you love them so much.

  765. I see why you love them so much. Lord Jesus, Amanda and I are so

  766. honored to be here today to receive this invitation to

  767. common speak for these beautiful people.

  768. Now I pray, I pray, I ask that you would take these truths that

  769. you've taught me and help our people to feed on them and it

  770. make change in their thinking. Your words alive and powerful

  771. and I've taught them the word so let the word do its work in

  772. their lives in Jesus name, Amen. Now we're going to finish here.

  773. I'm Amanda and I want to pray for anybody.

  774. We always end our services praying for people who are

  775. struggling with depression or bipolar or any type of fear or

  776. or mental health, post traumatic stress or whatever it might be,

  777. just just you're stuck in your thinking and it's making you

  778. blue and discouraged. We want to pray for you.

  779. We're going to lay hands on you. Now what will happen?

  780. We lay hands on you because there's an anointing upon us for

  781. this. We lay hands.

  782. There'll be a temporary reprieve.

  783. There'll be a peace come upon you.

  784. But then after you leave here tomorrow, you've got to get your

  785. start, getting your mind renewed with the word of God.

  786. And I talk, I give you step by step how to do that in my book.

  787. I just didn't have time today step by step how to do that in

  788. the book, how to get your mind renewed with the word of God.

  789. So if you want prayer, pastor's going to come.

  790. Pastor Brad's going to come and give us some direction how to do

  791. it. But if you want prayer, we would

  792. love to pray for you. If you don't want prayer and

  793. we're up here busy praying, it's just been an honor and I don't
