  1. Hey, welcome to the City Point Church podcast.

  2. Thanks for joining us. Every day is an opportunity to

  3. take hold of. So we hope this message inspires

  4. you and build your faith that it helps you have more of a God

  5. perspective for your day. Enjoy.

  6. Graham and I are. Very, very excited.

  7. And at the same time, to be perfectly honest, for the first

  8. time in a long time, I'm being really vulnerable with you.

  9. I am. I'm nervous about bringing this

  10. word. This word carries weight.

  11. I know it carries weight for you and I and it's going to carry

  12. weight for future generations. And so it.

  13. Can't remain limited. To 1 Preach.

  14. It's going to be something that we unpack over the next month

  15. and it will culminate when Pastor Sharon comes on August

  16. 1st and August. It's not the first that's the we

  17. get. I get her.

  18. She flies in on the 1st I get her.

  19. On the first you. Get her on the 3rd.

  20. All right on the. 3rd. To.

  21. Bring us as a church or. Begin to lead us in a specific.

  22. Way that we. As the church are going to step

  23. into for the first time in many years and so the the.

  24. Title of this theme that. We're going to unpack over the

  25. next couple of weeks. Is called from.

  26. Believers to followers from believers to followers.

  27. And so I would like to. Open.

  28. This theme with something a little bit.

  29. Unusual. I'd like to.

  30. Open this theme with an apology that might sound really unusual.

  31. Who in the room? Has followed Jesus.

  32. For more than 45 years, yeah. So could just a little higher.

  33. So we can see 123-4567 8 about let's say 10 to 15 people,

  34. right? I can tell you.

  35. That what? We're going to lead in this next

  36. month. Us as a church.

  37. Into and. See it in your spirits.

  38. Is something. That we.

  39. As the church. Have not done very well since

  40. that time. There is a specific generation

  41. of people who, when they came to know Jesus, had the gift.

  42. And the blessing? To have their lives transformed

  43. or their lives undone by all that God had done.

  44. For them and. And then move.

  45. From that moment. To have their lives walked with

  46. somebody through the transformation that

  47. discipleship. Brings, I know.

  48. Because I am a child of. Somebody who got discipled.

  49. When my. Mum and Dad radically came to.

  50. Jesus in the 80s. The church in that era was

  51. heavily led by discipleship. In that time, the heartbeat of

  52. the church was to go into all the world.

  53. So it was not an unusual thing that churches had giant.

  54. Maps of the world. In their foyers with little

  55. pins. In them I remember the pins.

  56. And I I was because I was a church.

  57. Kid John was there with me. We.

  58. Were doing it together. Misbehaving up there.

  59. Moving the pins. Tell me you didn't see.

  60. Who else did a? Moving of the pins.

  61. Like placing Bolivia in, you know, England.

  62. So fun. Because they also had.

  63. String attached to them. Everywhere that we were going to

  64. reach with the gospel of Jesus Christ had pins with string.

  65. And I love to make shapes with the string.

  66. You knew a lot of. Kids were doing it in the church

  67. because there were so many extra pin holes in the map.

  68. But the heartbeat of the church in that era was to go into all

  69. the world and not live in the vicinity of other people in that

  70. nation, but to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and see people

  71. come into a knowledge of who he was.

  72. But that was part of what that. Era was about the.

  73. Other part of it was which was the pretty much the the

  74. culmination of everything the church did was about taking that

  75. person who had accepted Jesus with their with their life and

  76. say, let me walk with you, Rachel, the journey of

  77. Christian. Faith.

  78. So because of it, my parents 2 drug addicts who had had

  79. devastating childhoods, walked from brokenness and didn't just

  80. experience wonderful worship services and hear the word of

  81. God for 25 minutes on a. Sunday, they got walked.

  82. Hand in hand with specific people into.

  83. Come on, I believe that the holy.

  84. Spirit wants to heal this specific thing.

  85. Not finished, not done. Just begun.

  86. Come on, I believe that that specific behaviour that you

  87. carried and operated in before you knew Jesus, God wants to

  88. transform. He wants to align according to

  89. his word. Let's do it.

  90. Because of this, I got to witness as a child and a

  91. teenager, than a young adult and now as a woman, the continuing

  92. process in my parents of people's lives being

  93. transformed. Not.

  94. Was transformed in a season in the 1st 18 months of them

  95. becoming believers but over their life being continually

  96. transformed. And so my parents in their 60s

  97. are doing more powerful things in the spirit, in the spirit

  98. realm and for the Kingdom of God then they did in their 20s and

  99. in their 30s, even though God used.

  100. Them in that time. This is not supposed to be the

  101. story that is unique. To my parents, to Colleen and

  102. Henry for. Graham witnessed.

  103. The exact same thing. When his parents walked into a

  104. Holy Spirit revival, intoxicated when he was one, came out sober

  105. and filled with the Holy Spirit. Who you know today in Pastor?

  106. Colleen and Henry. Is not who they were 40-5 years

  107. ago and it's not who they were. It's not who they are or were 20

  108. years ago. Just yesterday, Graham and I

  109. watched our wedding video for the first time in 20.

  110. Five years. And I got to see and witness the

  111. transformation that has taken place since that moment in my

  112. parents, in law, in my parents, I was.

  113. I was marked. By it to go.

  114. Wow, who they? Are today.

  115. I knew I had. Good ones.

  116. We knew we had good parents. We knew we'd been raised with a

  117. heritage of faith. But God has been allowed to

  118. continue to disciple their life. Nick so beautifully articulated

  119. the testimony of what God has done in her life to intervene.

  120. Because my mum, a beautifully broken woman at 19, walked into

  121. the Kingdom of God and said here I am.

  122. You love me as you receive me and I accept your love, but

  123. would you transform my life? Would you rewrite who I am?

  124. And has continued to do that for the last.

  125. I don't know how many years, a lot of years.

  126. Because of this, I can attest today that discipleship is a.

  127. Key part. It is not a program in a church.

  128. It is not, even though it is one of the best things you could do.

  129. Because. My father-in-law, amazing man

  130. and God teaches it. It is not a Foundations course

  131. that is finished ten weeks from now.

  132. Discipleship is a lifelong. Journey you do with somebody who

  133. is more mature than you in the faith so that your life is

  134. growing in likeness with God continually and so I this

  135. morning want to right from the get go apologize to the

  136. generations who've come after and.

  137. Even to those. In this generation who may have

  138. missed this because of the church.

  139. And I love the church. I love the church, but we're not

  140. always right. The Word of God says do not be

  141. conformed to the ways of the world because it's reminding us

  142. as believers to not conform to the ways of the world.

  143. But sometimes we like to go or conform or move to what culture

  144. is doing. And Gray and I can see that

  145. there are some things. That as a church.

  146. As a generation, even our generation.

  147. That we have missed. Out on because we.

  148. Moved. From 1:00.

  149. On one relationship. To corporatizing.

  150. As much as we could, we do this because it is being really

  151. frank. A lazier model.

  152. It is easy to do a corporate e-mail than it is to do an

  153. individual. Coffee, am I right?

  154. Come on. I need to.

  155. Hear an Amen. Somebody's like.

  156. Amen. I'm booking you in this week,

  157. right? Come on.

  158. I know. That this is confronting.

  159. But I also know that there are. People sitting here today.

  160. Going yeah, I know, I know. I know there are.

  161. Things I've. Missed out on?

  162. Because discipleship took. A back step.

  163. In the. Church because of it.

  164. We've been left. By its effect in the House of

  165. God globally. But as there isn't a.

  166. Great awakening that has. Begun.

  167. It's not that we're waiting for it.

  168. It has begun across the earth. You and I actually need to step

  169. into this again, exactly what Jesus asked us to do when he

  170. left, to be discipled and to make disciples because.

  171. With a great. Awakening of people with.

  172. The Spirit of God. Moving across our nation.

  173. And people being drawn. By the spirit of.

  174. God. Into.

  175. The House of God saying I know that there is more and I've got

  176. to seek this. This is already happening all

  177. across the planet. There isn't a country attesting

  178. to this. Did.

  179. You know that Amazon? Prime has identified this.

  180. It is the entire model. Of where they've done the

  181. direction. It's why for those of you who.

  182. Follows Amazon Prime. It's why they actually are

  183. flooding this particular forum. With Christian content because.

  184. They've said the next generation is crying out for content to be

  185. disciples and to be able to know how to follow Christ, that this

  186. particular medium that actually just a couple of years ago was

  187. trying to win people with thriller and witchcraft content

  188. identified. It dipped in what this next

  189. generation is crying out for and it started to do away with this

  190. business. They became irrelevant and other

  191. forums were grabbing. People's attention.

  192. And so one smart man just decided, why don't we find out

  193. what the next generation is actually?

  194. Asking for. What are they?

  195. What are they asking for? They're asking for the ways to.

  196. Follow God so. Amazon Prime is flooding their

  197. total forum with shows and content so that people can

  198. actually. Begin to seek.

  199. Out faith and follow and. Find out who Jesus.

  200. Is. This has already begun, but for

  201. us to be able to do what God. Wants us to.

  202. Do with the people. Who walk in here?

  203. We. Ourselves.

  204. Have to be discipled. Because otherwise what we will

  205. do? Is be friendly.

  206. I don't want to be a friendly church.

  207. I know that sounds really weird. Anybody.

  208. Can put on a. Smile.

  209. Hold a wobble board. Right and say.

  210. We're glad you're here. But I want to know who Victoria

  211. is, and I want to know that Victoria is living his best life

  212. for Jesus. Christ and that.

  213. Everything that called that. God called.

  214. Victoria to is. Being done.

  215. And cultivated and transformed and moved by his.

  216. Spirit and that. Victoria.

  217. Leaves a legacy beyond his family, beyond a bloodline for

  218. the Kingdom of God that happens not in a Sunday service.

  219. This is this this. Here is for encouragement,

  220. edification, to stir us, to come alongside others who are going.

  221. You doing all that God's asked you to do.

  222. Awesome. You're not all right.

  223. Come on, let's walk together. Come on, come on.

  224. There's more. There's more, there's more, so I

  225. want to unpack this morning. Just a couple of things about

  226. discipleship because when I say the word discipleship, I know

  227. that there are going to be 100 different definitions in this

  228. house. Can we begin to see this in your

  229. spirit this morning, church? Thank you, Shane.

  230. Shane is ready to be discipled. Can we see just spirit this

  231. morning for something that hasn't taken place in a long

  232. time? Is that all right?

  233. I know you feel afraid. I can hear it.

  234. That's OK. Belief in Jesus is the key.

  235. It is a key. Like I spoke to Joan, like I

  236. spoke over you when she was being ministered to.

  237. But a discipled life opens the door to the house and allows God

  238. to walk into each room. Clean house and use the rooms

  239. for their proper function. This is discipleship.

  240. Can I give you a biblical definition of discipleship?

  241. Ready discipleship is the intentional.

  242. Spirit. LED process of being.

  243. Formed into the image of Christ. Through obedience.

  244. To His word say obedience, to his word intimacy with Him.

  245. And in a. One-on-one investment from

  246. someone. More spiritually.

  247. Mature so that we. Can learn to follow.

  248. Jesus. And lead others.

  249. To do the same. You cannot be discipled alone.

  250. True discipleship happens in. Relationship, not just with

  251. Jesus. But with someone who walks ahead

  252. of you in faith and Jesus modelled this by closely.

  253. Doing this with his disciples, not merely teaching from a

  254. distance, but. Calling them to individually

  255. walk. With him intimately for 3 1/2

  256. years. Some of my notes are also on my

  257. phone so I'm opening. This quickly can I?

  258. Tell you the results of what we see in the church that sound a

  259. lot like there are areas we have conformed to the ways of the

  260. world that have happened and crept into the church into.

  261. You and I into our everyday. Because of an absence.

  262. Of this in our. Life let me.

  263. Explain some of them. We have become consumer

  264. believers who are fat on content.

  265. And poor in character. Just take a breath.

  266. I'm going to come to hope in a minute.

  267. I'm going to explain what we're going to do in this.

  268. We are concerned about the state of the world, and either we feel

  269. hopeless or we've become conspiracy theorists, or we have

  270. an expectation that the church and leaders do something about

  271. it. Another symptom that is cript in

  272. because we lack discipleship is that opinions flow freely.

  273. They flow freely out of our lips.

  274. These thoughts are allowed to play out like movies and cinema.

  275. In our minds, we. Open our mouths about things

  276. that are destructive, divisive, and not according to the Word of

  277. God. Do you know, even in the last

  278. two years, I have heard people in conversations, I've been

  279. involved. In or in?

  280. After church hangs on significant services where we

  281. have appointed pastors and leaders.

  282. I have heard in cafe conversations where people have

  283. gone. Oh, that's an unusual move to

  284. do. There or what are they doing

  285. with? That person opinions are

  286. flowing. Freely we've had leaders,

  287. spirits. Discouraged on the day of

  288. commissioning because they've gone.

  289. They mustn't have anything else for you to do.

  290. Church. When our words flow freely and

  291. they aren't according to what God has asked us to come into

  292. alignment with His word about our words, it is evidence that

  293. we lack discipleship in our life.

  294. That means there's nobody to go, Oi, that's foul.

  295. I have a question for you this morning.

  296. Who's allowed to tell you that you're off?

  297. Couple know, but I. Want you to?

  298. Think for a second. Who?

  299. Who is actually allowed? Who is actually?

  300. Do you have? One or two trusteds who are

  301. actually allowed to say God didn't say that your feelings

  302. are same. That oh.

  303. Because I can. Tell you I'm going to get there.

  304. When? You are not discipled.

  305. God says everything God says. What to eat for?

  306. Breakfast because you want to. Eat the waffle and not something

  307. healthy. He's like you deserve it because

  308. I love you. You are beautifully and

  309. wonderfully made. So are waffles.

  310. Go for it and. Not.

  311. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and you are to

  312. cultivate it. And you are to look after it.

  313. And you are to nurture it. With all the.

  314. Due diligence of that a holy Creator created it and is

  315. entrusting it to. You to steward because he's got

  316. things to do in and. Through it is somebody allowed

  317. to say that poignant thought, but our opinions flow freely.

  318. We claim God told. Us when in.

  319. Fact, our feelings or. Preferences told us, we claim

  320. God told us. In actual fact, in the last

  321. three years, I have been told multiple times that God told me

  322. by people who had heard it in gossip, and I knew they'd heard

  323. it in gossip. They'd heard information and

  324. they said I'm silly, I'm silly. Pastamel, I've been around for a

  325. long time, followed Jesus my whole life.

  326. I just knew. See that I just knew.

  327. Undisciple. It's called gossip.

  328. You had a conversation on Thursday.

  329. Where you found out? And now you're fishing for

  330. information. Come on, let it stir our spirit.

  331. Let it challenge us. This particular message right

  332. now is discipling a couple of us.

  333. All right. We are forming.

  334. Another symptom is is we form our own doctrines.

  335. The. Hymns are the only holy songs.

  336. Oh, you laugh. I know you're laughing, but in

  337. truth. We.

  338. Form our own doctrines when we're undisciple.

  339. And these new songs, they're too wordy and I've got to follow the

  340. overhead projector, which is only half up there half the

  341. time. And so I can't do it.

  342. They should. Just do the hymns because they

  343. were the only. Holy songs.

  344. Oh. Sorry to David and all of the

  345. beautiful poets in the Bible who wrote the songs way before the

  346. hymns. Ever.

  347. Were written. Come on, if we're going to get

  348. bigger on the doctrine, let's go back and.

  349. Only sing the psalms. Come on.

  350. And then Miriam's out a step because she wasn't in the

  351. Psalms. When she sang a song.

  352. Awkward in awkward. But here's the thing.

  353. You might go. I've never.

  354. Articulated that however you're. Standing in worship and going

  355. hmm Yep. And the drums are really loud

  356. again. Oh, it's in my eyes, right in.

  357. My eyes. It's in my eyes and oh.

  358. Right, we've just been taken to heavenly places.

  359. I'm so glad. Thank you, Gray and Mel, for

  360. allowing the Holy Spirit to lead this morning.

  361. We form our own doctrines because of undiscipleship.

  362. Being undiscipled, all right, We can't be instructed how to live,

  363. so therefore we never come under authority, which means we are

  364. not practiced at coming under God's authority.

  365. We can't come. Under God's authority and yet

  366. not come under man's because it is in the relationship of

  367. humans. That we learn.

  368. Humility we learn Vulnerability. We learn transparency when I

  369. engage in a. Conversation with Rachel.

  370. We talk. About the things that.

  371. Hurt. And how to forgive?

  372. And we talk. About the.

  373. Things that are fractured and how to heal.

  374. There is vulnerability and. Humility.

  375. And it's in that space that the Holy Spirit can transform our

  376. lives. Another thing that I can.

  377. Say is the result. Of not discipleship is our

  378. altars are empty. Our altars are empty.

  379. Which means we've got a problem with pride.

  380. I'm really grateful as the pastor of the church that my

  381. name is on the seat right there, so I can stand here really

  382. easily. Just because you might be in the

  383. 3rd or the 15th or the 20th row does not mean you can't come and

  384. stand on this whole tattoo regularly.

  385. Do you know our young people, being younger, in faith, and

  386. still in a stage of such passion and vigor for the Lord, know in

  387. their heart that this is a place of humility and vulnerability

  388. when God is doing something in them.

  389. You can all see it and you're watching like this.

  390. Come on with the one eye, everybody knows it.

  391. Who's a seasoned one Eye worshipper?

  392. You know what I'm talking about. This place is exposed for a

  393. reason. Because when you come and you

  394. bring your. Stuff into the beautiful.

  395. Exposure before God, he. Does.

  396. Things in this place. That are more restorative.

  397. Than in a place of pride going. That's just for somebody else.

  398. So our altars are empty, we don't share our faith, we don't

  399. serve. And the absence of discipleship

  400. has bred super spiritualism in the immature and pride and

  401. religious spirits in long term believers.

  402. This is the result of the church without discipleship.

  403. But God had an antidote. He's always had an antidote.

  404. In actual fact, it wasn't the antidote.

  405. It's the plan. He always had a plan.

  406. He has a plan and he says his. Ways lead to life, say his ways.

  407. Lead to life. Now, because of the time, I can

  408. say I'm going to get. Through 2.

  409. Of my five points, and I'm just going to give you those today,

  410. 2. This morning I want to unpack

  411. very quickly. In this message saying from

  412. believers to followers. Just two.

  413. Things about discipleship. That we miss when we aren't.

  414. Disciple over the next. Month I'm going to.

  415. Unpack all 5 so that we get a full picture of what we're

  416. missing out on, and I pray that it stirs your spirit to go.

  417. I've got to jump. In on this I need this for my

  418. life. Church.

  419. I need. This for my life.

  420. I would be a lousy pastor. I can tell you that with

  421. confidence. If my life is not led by

  422. somebody more mature, if there isn't wise counsel going, Nope,

  423. that's. You.

  424. Nope, that's. Feelings.

  425. Nope, that's. Being real with me and teaching

  426. me the. Ways of the Lord, places they've

  427. gone that I've never gone. We all need this.

  428. My iPad's going into low power mode, so pray read in the

  429. spirit. We're going to Luke 923 quickly

  430. and it says this. Whoever wants to be my disciple

  431. must deny themselves and take up their cross daily, say daily.

  432. That means not finished. That means not graduated.

  433. That means you're not. Done yet?

  434. That means you're also ready. Whoa.

  435. And follow me. There is a difference between

  436. believing in. Jesus and following Him.

  437. Believing is the. Beginning of the journey

  460. The way I've lived, this is the way.

  461. This is the way. This is the way I.

  462. AM and God loves. Me anyway.

  463. Undisciplined believers also say only God.

  464. Can disciple me, just me and the.

  465. Holy Spirit, he's. Talking to me about it all the

  466. time. That's an attitude, even if it's

  467. subconscious that we have arrived or we've graduated.

  468. At this discipleship journey. I can.

  469. Tell you with confidence. Church, you never arrive until

  470. you've gone to heaven. In the discipleship journey,

  471. you're never finished. These are often used to be.

  472. Really, Frank as an excuse for spiritual stagnation?

  473. True disciples. Say search me Lord and change

  474. me. Search me, Lord put me.

  475. On the Potter's. Wheel again.

  476. Put me on the Potters wheel. Jesus didn't just come to

  477. forgive your sin, He came. To transform your life.

  479. The greatest issue facing the world today is whether.

  480. Those who identify. As Christians will become.

  481. Disciples, students, apprentices, practitioners.

  482. Of Jesus Christ. What a statement.

  483. It's huge. Belief is the beginning.

  484. Transformation is the journey. Without discipleship we we

  485. settle for spiritual survival instead of spiritual renewal.

  486. Believing in Jesus saves our soul, but following.

  487. Jesus transforms our life. Without discipleship, we risk.

  495. Give us a new. Destination, yes.

  498. new identity. Come on.

  499. Discipleship. Reshapes our thinking, our.

  514. I love this. Preacher, then this preacher,

  515. then this preacher on. You know, Christian TV or

  516. Instagram or whatever, and then I'll come to the service, love

  517. it. The life experience that can

  518. feed me. I am.

  519. Feeling encouraged and a. Boost of faith.

  520. To launch me into my Wii? Undesirable.

  521. Believers say, which is. Common and.

  522. Very, very sad. I.

  523. Believe in God. But I don't feel close to God.

  524. I don't feel his nearness. I don't.

  525. Feel His presence that is with me always.

  526. As his words. Says it is.

  527. He doesn't. Leave you.

  528. He doesn't forsake you, he says. I will.

  529. Never leave you. And I will never.

  530. Forsake you. But when we miss the joy of.

  531. Intimacy we can often. Be very aware.

  532. That he does not feel near or present in our everyday life and

  533. so we often will come to a Sunday service and be consumers

  534. of a feeling that makes me feel near to the presence of God.

  535. Did you know you can experience? That always I wonder.

  536. If you believe that today. Did you know you can experience

  537. that when you brush your teeth, you.

  538. Know I think I'm crazy, but you can.

  539. You can experience it's. Hard to pray in the Spirit.

  540. Brushing your teeth. I don't recommend it.

  541. You can do it here. You can feel His presence and

  542. His nearness in every moment, waking and sleeping.

  543. For some of you, you are plagued in your dreams.

  544. With things. That God never designed.

  545. To be there, deposit there for you to have to process and his

  546. presence and His nearness. Is not felt because there is a

  547. lack. Of intimacy with him.

  548. When you take a journey of discipleship, somebody can walk

  549. you through how to be a spiritual overcomer, even in

  550. your. Sleeping hours because you.

  551. Can be an overcomer. In your sleeping hours.

  552. I have walked with girls who used to be plagued with

  553. nightmares. They were marked by this for

  554. their life, who now are spiritual prophetesses.

  555. And you know what? They often don't dream anymore

  556. because I know that the enemy is afraid.

  557. When he shows up. And they're wielding this, so

  558. you go back for more. Ready.

  559. Come on, in the name of Jesus, we have the.

  560. Ability to do this. But many of us actually have to

  561. be. Not many.

  562. All of us have to be walked. Like Jesus?

  563. Called disciples to walk with so they understood and knew how to

  564. do this. Because of this, this reflects.

  565. Second hand relationship discipleship leads us into

  566. direct. Communion with God.

  567. CS Lewis says this. Christ says give me all.

  568. I don't want so much of your time or so.

  569. Much of your money or so much of your work?

  570. I want it all. It's not going to cost you

  571. something church to follow Jesus.

  572. It is going to cost you everything.

  573. Jesus doesn't want your. Belief He wants your heart, He

  574. wants your thoughts, He wants your actions, He wants your.

  575. Walk. He wants your.

  576. Talk. Come on, followers.

  577. Make space daily to meet with Jesus in.

  578. Scripture in prayer. And in obedience.

  579. At our IMC conference this week. Oh, it was fun.

  580. Graham and I were. Challenged in the.

  581. Very first session for as a. In a.

  582. Pastor's lunch. It's supposed to be the cushy

  583. section. You know, cushy session with

  584. lunch. And Corey Russell says to us as

  585. pastors, who covets your prayer life?

  586. Who wants it? Come on, I know.

  587. Even here in this. House today.

  588. There will be. Specific believers that you.

  589. Covet their prayer life. Come on, am I right?

  590. Covered in a good way. There are spiritual gifts.

  591. You're allowed to covet. Do you know if you want to learn

  592. to pray? Why?

  593. Don't you spend some? Time with Rachel Eaton.

  594. Even in an office when I'm trying.

  595. To get work done. There is warfare and intimacy

  596. taking. Place at all times.

  597. And I love it because it draws me in to say.

  598. I covet this gift. I covet the gift of prayer on

  599. Pastor TJ and Saraya's. Life, but it's I.

  600. Wonder if this morning you and I can go instead of coveting?

  601. These things. Coveting the prophetic of Pastor

  602. Rachel, we go and said, I'm going to be walked into the

  603. development and the fulfillment and the fullness of the gifts

  604. God's placed in my. Life.

  605. And instead of vicariously operating out of Rachel, I go.

  606. Would you teach me how? What does this require?

  607. How many hours a day of intimacy with God?

  608. Is there a number? I learnt some numbers.

  609. This week we. Learnt some numbers.

  610. This week that went. Something we're coveting,

  611. Something that we're craving, Something we want to step into.

  612. We allowed. Team members to disciple us and

  613. went well, this is what it's cost us.

  614. This is the cost of this discipleship gift.

  615. OK, how do we do that? How do I step into that?

  616. Would you help me? Would you start to walk with me

  617. in this? Would you?

  618. Begin to cultivate this and not would.

  619. You do it for me. Would you hold me accountable to

  620. it? Would you ring me up and say

  621. what did God speak? To you about when you.

  622. Asked him that. What did he tell you?

  623. Are you going to do? It how when when are?

  624. You going to do these things, discipleship, church, You and I

  625. cannot lack intimacy with God because when we do, we have a

  626. whole lot of knowledge about who He is.

  627. But we can't lead people who are searching for somebody to

  628. absolutely turn their lives upside down if we've not allowed

  629. God to totally turn our lives upside down.

  630. And I'm not talking about fill up your calendar.

  631. I'm talking about transform your life.

  632. We can't live off second hand faith.

  633. We can't be consumers. Podcasts, sermons, others

  634. experiences. Today Jesus is inviting us to

  635. walk with him, to hear his voice, to know his heart.

  636. Because disciples are not just learning about Jesus, they are

  637. becoming more like him. And so this morning I'm going to

  638. ask for a response to this message.

  639. And I know it's been challenging.

  640. Put your seatbelts on. We're going for four weeks to

  641. see this, but it's not going anywhere after a month.

  642. We believe there is a power and an intimacy found when we become

  643. mature disciples, which doesn't happen in a moment, it happens

  644. in a journey. So I'm wondering right now in

  645. this meeting is Keys beautifully plays and you've been reminded

  646. that God is here, He is near, he is present if you have.

  647. Felt during this. Time the challenge, the

  648. reminder, the call to be disciple, if you would just

  649. stand to your feet where you are.

  650. God, this is such a humbling journey.

  651. There's something you want to do in each and every one of us.

  652. You don't want us to miss out on the fullness of what you want to

  653. do in us. Every single one of us has been

  654. called the Purpose. But to walk in it, we've got to

  655. walk following you. This is not done alone.

  656. And so this morning, with arms outstretched.

  657. We. Humbly come before you to do

  658. what you've asked us to do to follow.

  659. You if you're. Choosing to do that this

  660. morning, I'm going to just ask you to confess it.

  661. Say I'll follow you, Jesus. Now just I believe in you.

  662. I am choosing from this moment forward to follow you.

  663. To walk in. Obedience to your word to be

  664. transformed, and so to grow in intimacy with you.

  665. To actually hear your. Voice and not profess your voice

  666. based on my feelings. God, you have.

  667. Permission to lead my life. Would you say your own prayer

  668. this morning instead of me doing it?

  669. You can borrow my words, but God, would you lead my life?

  670. Would you? Help me to be.

  671. Humble and allow people. Allow somebody.

  672. To come. Alongside my life and.

  673. Walk with. Me on this journey.

  674. To speak in the areas where there is more that you have.

  675. For me. In the areas that maybe I've.

  676. Settled or become comfortable God would you do it because this

  677. morning I. Choose to follow you.

  678. I choose to follow you. I want to be counted.

  679. As one of your disciples, not just believers.

  680. I want to be counted as one of your.

  681. Disciples I want. To know you intimately, I want

  682. to know how you think, how you speak, how you do.

  683. I want to know the questions to ask, like how do I pray?

  684. Because I witness it in your. Life God teach me how?

  685. Help me to keep my spirit sweet, teachable, humble so that I'm up

  686. for this journey and never let me get stagnant or comfortable

  687. or complacent in an attitude that I have made it.

  688. And that it's done. And that it's finished and that

  689. it's. Just for the young.

  690. Ones. God, shake that up.

  691. You had permission this morning to put us on.

  692. The Potter's wheel. To put us on the.

  693. Potter's wheel again, God. Break us and make us and mold

  694. us. To be in the likeness of you for

  695. you. Alone.

  696. Holy. You alone are righteous.

  697. You alone are good. You alone are mighty, you alone

  698. are powerful, and for me to carry and do any of these

  699. things. I've.

  700. Got to be transformed. Into your likeness.

  701. So God you have. Permission this morning to

  702. transform my life. That is your.

  703. Prayer this morning say Amen.
