Congruence of Agreement | Ps Rachel Eaton

Partnering with God, the Bible says that he who the sunsets

free is free is free. Indeed, it's good news.

Here's a question for you all. Free from what exactly?

For most of us here, we have accepted Jesus to be our

personal Lord and Saviour, and so we understand that we have

been saved. We've been saved from sin, we've

been saved from condemnation, and we've been saved from guilt.

Once we walked in darkness, now we walk in light.

We walked with the heaviness and the shame of sin and now we have

been washed clean, pure white as snow.

This is good news, right? This is great news.

We used to walk around with that big blanket of, you know, yuck,

and it's been removed and we now walk in the freedom of the

purity that has has been given to us by the beautiful blood of

Jesus. But is that where it stops?

Don't get me wrong, it's great news.

This is good news for you. This is good news for our

region. It's good news for our

community. But are there further freedoms

in Jesus to experience? Does the good news just stop

there? Is there more that is made

available to us? God is a good father and He has

prepared wonderful gifts for us. If you didn't know this book

here His word. I say this pretty much every

time I preach, so you should be all prepped on it.

The word was with God and the word was God is God.

So when we open up God's word, it's literally him speaking to

us, right? Like I don't know what God says.

He never talks to me. Open it in this book, in His

word, Him speaking to you. There are 8000 plus promises,

8000 plus promises from God, promises of good, not evil,

promises to give you a plan and a hope and a future.

That's in Jeremiah. The question is, how badly do

you want them? Years ago.

About 7 years ago. How long have we been married?

27, Yeah. Thank you.

Yeah, I really like being married.

That was a good decision. About 20.

Sorry. About 7 years ago we were coming

up to our 20th wedding anniversary and we're all

tossing about what should we do and, and some discussions came

in and around it. We want to celebrate this

because this is a milestone for us.

And out came this notion. Why don't why don't we do a trip

to Italy? Anyway, so this suggestion came

out, I'm pretty sure it came from me and then there was an

agreement made. We went, let's do it.

And so we had an agreement. We're like, we're going to

Italy. From that moment, my everything

changed. My language changed.

I'm like, I'm going to Italy. I don't have tickets yet.

I don't have the money yet, but I've got a plan and an

agreement. And so my language is like we

are on our way to Italy. There was no obstacle that I

didn't see obstacles. I saw opportunities to, you

know, for, for answers. We need someone to look after

the kids. Wow.

Let's have a look around and see who's in our world, my

everything. When we are on our way to Italy.

John was actually, he became quite sick right before we were

going. He became really sick, quite

deathly sick. And I, I remember I came along

as a Good Wife. I'm like, honey, you are so

sick, maybe you just over work, didn't need a holiday.

How's it only sound? I was motivated.

I made sure that to pay very careful, careful attention to

the conditions. It's like you need to get a

passport. No worries.

Here. Come and take my photo.

No, no, don't smile. OK, we'll take another one.

I was good for the conditions. You need insurance.

No problem. I will meet every condition

because I am on my way to Italy. And on my hardest days, I still

have the memory of that cannoli. The cannoli, right?

It was so good. My everything was in agreements

with that decision. I had congruence.

So we are invited to partner with God in his promises.

And you might say, how do I partner with God, the things

that he desires for me? And He's a good God, He's a good

father, He has good things in store for you.

So how do I come into agreement and partner with him?

And it's through the power of agreement.

If you could just bring up on the screen 2nd Corinthians 120

to 22. If you want to read along in

your Bibles, you may or look up on the screen behind us for all

of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a

resounding yes and through Christ.

Ow everybody here say ow my Amen, which means yes.

It ascends to God for his glory. It is God who enables us along

with you to stand firm for Christ.

He has commissioned us and he has identified us as his own by

placing Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment

that guarantees everything he has promised through Jesus.

God's promises are yes. If he's promised it, it's yes.

And our job is Amen. Amen means let it be so or I

agree. Our Amen ascends to God for His

glory. God's promise for you is yes,

sure thing it's done. It's a big yes.

So we get to talk about what agreement looks like.

Our part is to agree with what God says.

The title of the message this morning is congruence of

agreement. So the Bible speaks really

clearly on the power of unity on congruence of agreement.

You can look up such verses like Matthew 1819 to 20, Amos 33 or

Genesis 11/8. When agreement is unified, the

Bible says that it will be done, it will be done, that nothing

will be impossible for them. And I want you just to think on

that first for a moment. That's actually found in

Genesis. It says nothing will be

impossible for them. That actually when when God said

that it wasn't in an overly positive context that was with

the Tower of Babel. He's like, nothing's going to be

impossible for these guys because they're in congruence of

agreement, right? So James, hold on to that

thought. James 16 versus 5 to 7 reads, if

you can bring that up on the screen, do not waver.

For a person with divided loyalty is unsettled as a wave

of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.

Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

James is actually trying to to bring understanding about how to

receive what you pray for, about how to access God's promises.

And he's like, this inconstancy is not going to bring it about

for you. So we've got to address

inconstancy. Like I agree with what God says,

but I also agree with this, which is contradictory to what

God says. So when we agree, there's got to

be this unification of agreement and then nothing will be

impossible. Here's the thing about agreement

I just mentioned in Genesis with the Tower of Babel wasn't an

overly positive that nothing would be impossible for them.

Agreement is amoral. Think it through for a moment.

What do I mean by that? I mean agreements can be made

that is super godly and aligned with God's word.

Agreements can be made that is super ungodly access to the

demonic realm. Who wants to come and kill and

steal and destroy your life. But an agreement made, it's like

a spiritual contract in the spiritual realm.

They can be godly. They can be ungodly.

Think about a courtroom. Now decisions have to be reached

by a jury. There has to be an agreement

made for the outcome. So tell me this.

Have we experienced in our justice system someone who's

murdered somebody and then a jury has decided, yes, they have

murdered somebody and we've seen justice and they've gone to

jail. Has that happened?

Yes, that has happened. Have we also seen in our justice

system people who are innocent, but a jury has come together and

made a decision that they didn't even get to have any part of,

but this agreement has now locked someone in a cell away

from life. Agreement is powerful.

Agreement is powerful, whether godly or whether ungodly, and

it's the shame in the spiritual realm.

Agreement is a spiritual contract contract, right?

So whether godly, whether evil, sorry, whether godly or whether

evil, what we agree with is often what our faith is carried

on you, you believe it, right? So if you agreeing with

something, you usually believe that agreement.

So our faith is now carried on agreements, OK.

And we've got to be careful what we make agreements with because

faith, faith paves the pathway to what you will receive, what

you believe. Your faith paves the pathway to

what you're going to receive. So we've got to be very careful

about what we come into agreement with.

Agreements hold power, whether godly or ungodly.

So when we're partnering with God in his desire, in his

promises, which are found in his words, we want to ensure that

our everything is in congruence and lining up with what he says.

So when we say something, for example, when we're we're

looking for healing, you might come and grab a verse in God's

word in his promise. Let's look at Jeremiah 3017.

It's not up on the screen, but says I will restore you to

health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.

So we've got God's word, which is his will, which is his yes,

which is his promise. So this is a promise that we can

now declare, claim, and hold onto.

While we're doing that, we want to ensure that our everything

lines up with this promise, lines up with healing.

What do I mean? So I want to ensure that what

comes out of my mouth is in agreeance with God's promise.

But sometimes we can then come and declare, I always get sick.

Oh, I've just made an agreement in the spiritual realm or my

cursed body. You're declaring God's word that

says I'm going to experience healing and restoration.

But you've got an agreement over here that says now my body's

cursed. There's an incongruence of

agreement. We want our everything to grab

hold of what God says and walk in agreement with him.

What about going to a doctor? If we're if our bodies are

unwell, we can pray to God and we can claim this scripture.

God's promise is yes. Now when we pray for people for

healing, many times, many times people experience the

supernatural ministering presence of God that see eyes

open, that see legs grow, that see backs healed, that see

cancer cancelled. And sometimes it doesn't.

Why? I have no idea.

I have no idea, no idea. I do know that the more people

we pray for them will get healed and experience that supernatural

healing and miraculous power from God.

And so if you're on this altar and you're coming into a line

with God's Word, we're going to pray for you and we're going to

believe for healing, right? So if you don't get the

miraculous in the moment, it is then congruent to go and get

healing. Go and see your doctor.

Actually, there it's their job description to bring healing and

restoration. And then you go, Lord, I'm

claiming healing, I'm claiming restoration.

I pray you don't even make it to the doctor 'cause he's

miraculously healed your body. But if you do, I pray then that

the wisdom of God would be on that doctor to find out exactly

what's going on in your body. I'm going to be congruent and

declare healing like God word said.

But sometimes if it doesn't happen the way we expect, God

should move. Hey, I'm on the altar.

I'm praying for healing, and you didn't give me the miraculous

healing right here. That's it, I'm out.

I'll go and make an agreement with my body's always cursed or

you can hold on to God's promise and go, OK, it didn't happen

here. Where is it?

Where is it Lord? Because I've made an agreement

with your word that says I'm going to be well, I'm going to

be restored. I'm going to be healed in Jesus

name. So going to your doctor, Luke.

Luke was a doctor in the Bible who wrote the book of Luke, Luke

Paul says to Timothy, I believe it's like go and and have some

medicine and wine to help with your body so that you can be

strong for the work of the ministry.

It's literally a doctor's job to bring about health and

restoration. So I am going to pray for the

miraculous, but if it doesn't happen the way I think it

should, I my eyes are going to be congruent with the promise of

God. This all right?

You might have the flu and go Lords, I claim this promise of

restoration, of healing. I'm walking in and in

declaration with this. But on the way home, you then

grab McDonald's, followed by cheesecake and a thick shake,

and then you go home to chocolate pudding.

Do you see the incongruence? There's an incongruence of

agreement. So when we declare God's

promises, we want to make sure our everything lines up and is

in agreement with what he says. God's word is power and we get

so tripped up on the how that we lose sight of it or get

discouraged. It's like, no, hang on to that

thing. It's it's how if it's possible,

then how you hear the words. I can't, but God's Word says I

can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, but I can't

because I'm too old. I can't because I'm too broken.

I can't because I don't have time.

I can't because I don't have money.

I can't because I'm too disabled.

And we've got all of these agreements going on that are

contrary to what God's Word says.

So a better a better question would be if God says I can, how

could I? If it's if you say it's

possible, Lord, how could I congruence of agreement.

Is this OK? All right, Can I have some

water, please? Thank you.

On next to you, Pastor Graham, thank you.

He's got his hands full. There's a demonstration coming.

Another example of this would actually be in in provision in

Malachi 310. It says bring your full tithe

into the storehouse that there may be food in my house and

thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts.

If I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour out a

blessing until there is no more need, so we can pray the

scripture and go God, I come into agreement with this

scripture. I'm believing that the windows

of heaven will be open to me, but then we don't meet the

agreement. We don't meet the condition.

Often where there's a promise in God's word, there's usually a

condition. Just meet the condition.

And so we're claiming in Jesus name.

But there's an incongruent of agreement.

Faith and actions are carried on belief, right?

So we want to have our belief congruent with God's promises

out everything to come into a line.

I'm actually going to do a demonstration for you just to

try and, and make this a little bit clearer.

May I please have my 5 people? I've got pastor Well, Pastor

Gray, if you could just come and line up here on the side.

Believe I've got Chris Ebony, just if you could come and line

up on the side there, I'll call you over.

I don't need the lid, I don't think.

All right. And so if I could have come up

on the screen, please behind me the identity here we go.

So God's word here says, according to God's word, I am

complete in him loved eternally. I'm not condemned, I'm forgiven,

pure and righteous, salt of the earth, fearfully and wonderfully

made. I am a child of God.

This is This is good news. These are God's promises to us

and I'm here, I want to say yes, I want my identity formed in

Jesus so I can walk in confidence, so I can walk in

peace and in a sound mind. But then comes along Pastor

Graham. Well, actually it's not Pastor

Graham. We have insignificance comes and

features and so it ties ties around here.

OK, you can go and stand over there and then I've got what do

we have here? Not enough.

So if you could hold this awesome and right to the end and

just stand back. Thank you.

Then I've got unlovable that comes up and then divinity that

comes up. If you could just thank you.

And what have I got here? Unworthy.

And so I've got God's promises up here in my identity with him.

This is what I want to go for. Hang on.

And I can't reach it. I need my scissors, please.

Yeah. Can we all just do a shuffle

over this way? I forgot them.

This is actually quite, quite hard.

And so insignificance comes up. This might feature through being

overlooked. This might feature through an

event where you you come and make meaning and say I'm

unimportant. I, I don't, I'm not important in

in this ministry. And so you make a new assigned

meaning with it, and you've got an agreement.

And so I've got to come in and go, well, what does God's word

say? It says, I'm pretty sure here it

says that I'm the salt of the earth.

If I'm the salt of the earth, that means I'm one of the most

important assets in the Kingdom of God.

I hold great significance and I hold great importance.

So, Lord, I come into agreement with what you say.

And I'm sorry that I made agreement with this thing.

I'm going to cut this thing off right now in the name of Jesus,

out of my life. Then I see not enough.

It's getting a little bit. All right, I'm doing OK.

Not enough. At some point, something may

have happened that told you you weren't enough.

It could have been a parent that said your grades are not enough.

You will never amount to anything.

You are stupid, you're not talented, you're not skillful

enough. But God's word here says I'm

complete in Him. So Lord, I want to come into

agreement with what you say you. This is a lie.

I can see that now, God. So I break agreement.

I'm sorry, Lord, that I said that I'm not enough.

And by the spiritual blood of Jesus, I come in and I cut this

tie. I break agreement with not

enough and I declare I'm completing him.

Whoo Hoo, Hoo. I'm feeling good.

OK, move over here so everyone can see Unlovable.

Something may have happened on your line that says I'm

unlovable. Someone may have left.

It could have been a parent. It could have been a partner.

This could have been a child. Something in your line said you

are not worthy to be loved. No one could love you and sat in

your corner and you said everybody hates me, nobody loves

me and start eating worms. And you can sit in your corner

and stay stuck. Although God's promises are

here, the good news for me to walk into, you can stay stuck

with this agreement or by the blood of Jesus.

I come in Lord, and I break agreement with this.

I thank you Lord, that you said I am loved eternally, which

means you loved me before I even made it here.

From my mother's womb. You have had a plan and a

purpose for my life. You have seen me, You have known

me, You have loved me and eternally.

So. I break agreement with this lie

in the name of Jesus by the blood of Jesus out of my life.

Oh, OK. Now this one, this one has got

some stuff going on here in your process of identity.

You might have been feeling not sure where I fit.

So you've gone to a fortune teller to try and get someone

else try and find something else to fill that space.

This is fortune telling tarot cards agreement with Halloween

that it's OK. It's not OK, I'm not going to

tell you Halloween and and making an agreement that it's OK

is OK. It's not OK.

And so by I've got good news. If you've done that, you're

like, oh, I feel like I need to repent.

It's good news. You can break agreement with

this right now in the name of Jesus, by the blood of Jesus, I

break the power of this thing. I'm sorry, Lord, often these

lines here, these spiritual contracts, spiritual contracts,

agreements of spiritual contracts that hold power that

will stop you from moving forward.

There's oppression and there's power in and around them.

When we break these, often there will be the need for repentance

or forgiveness. OK, so I've made an agreement

with divination. I'm sorry that I did that Lord.

I don't want access to the supernatural realm that has

nothing to do with you, with those creatures and pests that

are here to kill and steal and destroy my life.

So through my repentance, Lord, and by the power of your blood

and by the power of Your name, I break any agreement I made with

this and I cast you out of my life in the name of Jesus.

And what have we got over here? Oh, unworthy.

Actually, you know what? Let this one go like fully long

I want to do. Hey, No, it's not.

You've got heaps more there. Oh, that you've got somebody

else's. All right, forgive us.

We have a long friends as well as like working together.

So unworthy. What I want to point out about

not you. No, I just was giving you.

OK. All right, we've got this.

The word unworthy there. What I want to point out about

these spiritual agreements just before I send Pastor Phil off

the stage. These agreements sometimes could

go beyond the trees. What do I mean by that?

I mean, sometimes you don't even know their name because they

were agreements made when you weren't even in the room.

These are generational curses. These are agreements that have

been made generations ago, before you were even born.

Things like Freemasonry abuse that happened decades ago that

has now carried a line through your bloodline.

Blood is actually a currency in the spiritual world, which is

why the blood of Jesus is so powerful.

But these things are carried through a bloodline.

Curses that we have to break agreement with.

So unworthiness might feature from way back when, or it could

feature through our own life. This often comes through abuse.

It's so unfair. You, you didn't even have a

choice in the matter. This was an agreement, like I

said in the courtroom, that was made on behalf of you, that has

locked you in a cell and kept you away from life.

But I have good news. The blood of Jesus, the purpose

of Jesus, wants to see you break free from this wicked thing that

is holding me back from experiencing and walking in the

life eternal, in the life that He has promised, in the goodness

that he has for you. And so by the blood of Jesus,

and the name of Jesus and the power of Jesus, I break

agreement with this thing. No weapon, no weapon formed

against us can prosper in the name of Jesus unless we're

making agreement with it. There's no spiritual force that

has the power to hold you back unless you take the power of

agreement and make agreement with it.

You're getting this this morning.

They're arrows, darts of poison designed to kill, to steal from

you and destroy your life. And you don't have to put up

with it. You don't have to walk in that.

You don't have to be bound. It's so much nicer not being

bound. An agreement is a spiritual

contract. We break free in the name of

Jesus. We can move into a space of

confidence, assurance, identity, and understanding our position

of who we are in Christ. It's actually a position of

authority. It's a position of freedom.

It's actually fun. When we break free, peace lives

there very quickly. Before we close this morning, I

want to touch on two more types of agreements that we make that

we may not be aware of. Agreements that can feature, and

that's an agreement with sin. And this is twofold.

So sins that we choose and sins that happen against us.

OK, now the sin that we choose, I'm not talking about mistakes

that we make. Everyone makes mistakes.

I'm not talking about being perfect here.

If you're following Jesus, I've got a news flush for you.

You're going to make so many mistakes, mistakes in Jesus like

it's OK, we're on the the journey of transformation, but

I'm talking about an agreement with sin.

And this is what it looks like. Lord, I know that Your word says

this about this sin, but God, I don't really believe it.

I think this sin is OK. So I break agreement with what

you say about this sin, and I'm making my own agreement here.

Guys, I'm sorry, but the agreement here, that line,

that's property of the enemy, which gives him access into your

life. Any agreement that is

unsurrended to Jesus, the enemy has access.

He actually, he, it gives him access.

It's a spiritual contract that opens a door for him to come in.

And so agreement with sin, it's not OK.

And and it's not like Jesus is there with a big saucepan ready

to hit you over the head. That's not the picture here He's

got he's got freedom for you. He has got a life of purpose.

There's this itching to get his promises to you.

He wants you to walk in fulfilment, abundance,

understanding who you are. But the sin, if you make

agreement with it, it's going to hold you back from all that he

has for you to walk into right? It's not OK.

God's Word, God's word says to forgive sin, that he forgives

sin. He doesn't excuse it.

The Bible says that Jesus forgives sin.

He doesn't excuse it. OK, the second type of sin that

we make an agreement with is the sins made against us.

Some of you, this might sting a little bit this morning, but I'm

praying for wholeness and for healing for you.

When somebody really hurts us and they say sorry, what's even

the language that can come out of our mouth?

It's OK, that's an agreement. It's all good.

I'm OK. When awful things are done to

us, we can push it down. Down pain.

You're OK. You're fine.

Get down there. How much can we push under?

It doesn't matter. It's an agreement that hinders

our healing muses. I'm hoping that you're coming

out. We sweep it under the rug.

Excusing sin against you will not bring healing and it won't

bring freedom. Agreeing to ignore it is not

going to bring you into God's promises.

Can I just say if this has happened to anyone here, that

hurting you was not OK? Forgiveness acknowledges that

the sin against you was not OK. It wasn't OK.

It wasn't OK. The betrayal, abuse,

humiliation, gossip against you, none of it was OK.

You are a child of gods crafted by the Almighty, beloved,

precious, and highly valuable. And it was not OK to be treated

badly. And I know that acknowledging

this might be painful for some of you, but the Bible actually

says blessed are those who mourn, for they're going to be

comforted. And so I actually pray that as

as you look at this, that the comfort of God has opportunity

to come in and bring comfort and lead to wholeness and lead to

healing and lead to peace and lead to rest for your souls.

And it's all available right here with Jesus.

But this pain, this thing that has happened to you, you've

actually got to acknowledge it, not excuse it, not make

agreement. Oh, it, it was all right.

It's OK. That is where worthlessness

breeds in this agreement. It wasn't OK.

Break the agreement with it and then hand it to the very loving

arms of Jesus. I just wanted to say like this

unforgiveness, He helps us to release the unforgiveness to

Him. And that journey truly can

sometimes take years. It can take years.

It's a process of acknowledging the pain for what it was,

reconciling the pain. I think it was your mum, Pastor

Sharon, who actually talks about having.

It's like you've got a computer that's open with all of these

tabs and you just go and shut it down.

But you've got all of these tabs that are still open and you've

got to go in and, and reconcile them, close them down to get a

healthy shutdown of the computer.

Sometimes that reconciliation is, wow, that was garbage.

Sometimes you're going to need a little bit of help with maybe

someone like Pastor Sharon or or someone who can come and walk

through with you to reconcile these things.

But there's got to be a reconciliation, not an agreement

that it didn't matter. God Forgives, He doesn't excuse.

So we acknowledge the pain, reconcile it, and then hand it

to Jesus. And that's a process that might

take a long time with him. But there's freedom on the other

side of that. There's wholeness on the other

side of that Jesus name. There's no sin that he actually

can't forgive. There's no act that he hasn't

seen. He's seen it all.

Eternal. God is so personal and he, he

wants to be close to you. He wants to bring you into

release. He wants to bring you into

freedom from these things, your fierce protector, to be your

deliverer, your freedom, your joy.
