  1. Hey, welcome to the City Point Church podcast.

  2. Thanks for joining us. Every day is an opportunity to

  3. take hold of. So we hope this message inspires

  4. you and build your faith, but it helps you have more of a God

  5. perspective for your day. Enjoy.

  6. I have a word in my heart, a word for the church this year,

  7. which is absolutely awesome. And so the title of today's

  8. message is Walking the Same path, Walking the same path.

  9. Now this year as a church in every single department, we are

  10. walking in the same direction, down the same path.

  11. We aren't looking at a point saying I'm getting there, but

  12. we're all taking our own pathway to there.

  13. We are literally tripping over each other down the path as we

  14. walk on the same path in the same direction to the same goal

  15. or vision for this church. Immense unity.

  16. This year we call it alignment. So in the life of this church,

  17. we as a church body Melon. I have been the location pastors

  18. of this great church for five years now, and God has been just

  19. bringing more and more clarity every single year of how He

  20. wants to move. And this is for us the year of

  21. alignment and the year of Disciple ship.

  22. So this year we're not thinking about doing more.

  23. We are thinking about where we are going together.

  24. So it's not about just more meetings, greater meetings,

  25. bigger meetings, all of that. What we're doing this year is as

  26. a church, which means you and I, we are looking at where are we

  27. going together? Psalms 133, verses 1 and verse 3

    Psalms 133:1

  28. says how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell

  29. together in unity. Verse 3 For there the Lord

  30. commands the blessing. Can you say I am blessed because

  31. I'm in unity with the church? Amen.

  32. So that's where your blessing is found.

  33. If you're not walking in the reality of blessing, you have to

  34. ask the question, do I know the mission of the church?

  35. Do I believe what the church preaches?

  36. And I am I not following the church?

  37. Am I part of the church? Because when you bring your

  38. whole world into alignment there the Lord will bring blessing for

  39. you. When we say as pastor Mel has

  40. already this morning that as a church we exist to bring

  41. spiritual and social transformation to our sitting.

  42. This is not a slogan. We are not painting it on the

  43. walls. We need this to get into our

  44. hearts, into our spirits, into the purpose of why I, not even

  45. the church now, why I exist, is to bring spiritual and social

  46. transformation to our city. Not a slogan, it's a calling.

  47. It's a calling this morning. It's God saying I want to move

  48. through this church, the individuals and as a corporate

  49. church body through you to bring change to your neighborhoods, to

  50. your schools, to your universities and to your

  51. workplaces. Do you believe that this

  52. morning? Let me say this, Do you believe

  53. that God can do that this morning?

  54. Do you believe that God can use you to do that this morning?

  55. See, that's really where it is, where it's at.

  56. That's where unity really is. I have found in my Christian

  57. walk of growing up in the church, I have found that every

  58. church believes God can do it. But when the question is posed,

  59. can God do it through me? That is a real question.

  60. Well, I'm falling over here. That's a real question.

  61. I remember when God 1st called me personally, I was young to

  62. the realm of miracles and then that just lingered with me and I

  63. was just like, man, I just got to pray like Billy Graham, I

  64. assume he prays, you know, to have that anointing.

  65. I've just got to pray 24 hours a day and I couldn't do that.

  66. And so I just, I was always striving and then we became

  67. pastors in the church when Pastor Rick was still the

  68. location pastor. And it just got heavy on me.

  69. And, and so I started to tap into the realities more mentally

  70. and spiritually of God, like like me, not just the church

  71. through worship or when Pastor Rick preaches.

  72. And then we became the location pastors and God's like, there we

  73. are. And I'm like, really God.

  74. And what I realized is always the catalyst for the church.

  75. Does this make sense? And so you'll notice that our

  76. miracle services every year, I don't pray much for people, our

  77. leadership and our pastors in the church, God's using all of

  78. them. And so the step between faith in

  79. God being God, in faith of God being my God, then the faith

  80. level it requires for God to be the God that operates through my

  81. life. Now we're talking.

  82. Does this make sense? And let me tell you here this

  83. morning as you grab this vision to bring spiritual and social

  84. transformation, spiritual, which means for you personally to

  85. allow the Spirit of the God to break things and for you to come

  86. in partnership with the God and the Spirit of God of God.

  87. Yes, use me. I will do it.

  88. I will actually do it. I will be the one.

  89. I will lay the hands, I will step out.

  90. I will conquer fear through this.

  91. I'll do whatever, but use me. And that spiritual like, like

  92. binding thing breaks open in your life and freedom comes in

  93. that area. And then you move from that to

  94. this belief. You're you're joining Pastor

  95. Rachel's prayer teaching course. And you and you come to the

  96. Sunday night services and allow the edification of the Saints

  97. for the work of the ministry just flow over and over you and

  98. you start believing for spiritual breakthrough over the

  99. community, but you don't believe for it.

  100. You're in the do company now, right?

  101. God use me. I will do it.

  102. And So what you start to do is you my phone's down there, but

  103. in my phone, I've got this. I saved the a Safari Google page

  104. to my home screen that has all the spiritual strongholds that

  105. the Bible says by name. And so most days I pray over

  106. this community, God, I break the deaf dumb spirit.

  107. God, I break the spirit of divinity over the city and I

  108. just start going through them because we want to specie

  109. spiritual transformation. Does this make sense?

  110. And so this is the church in the do action in the proactive

  111. church, not consumers consumer age.

  112. That's a weird word. But anyway, it should be in the

  113. dictionary. You'll find it.

  114. You'll find it. Come tell me, not a consumer age

  115. church, but rather a proactive church.

  116. The Holy Spirit doesn't give you a sword to have shiny on a

  117. mantelpiece at home, but he also didn't give you a sword and say

  118. now go dictate to the community. He gave you a sword because we

  119. fight a spiritual battle. We don't fight against flesh and

  120. blood, but against principalities and powers.

  121. Church, would we unite in 2026 and say I am partnering with

  122. you, God, you have already partnered with me, but we are

  123. going to see spiritual transformation over this great

  124. city of ours in Jesus name. Let me tell you this isn't just

  125. a great city, this is your great city.

  126. We have to fight for it and we fight for it in a spiritual

  127. battle. We get out the sword of the

  128. spirit. We already got the shoes of

  129. peace on when we got out of bed this morning and we we start to

  130. fight a spiritual battle. We open it up in Google and we

  131. find out what the spiritual strongholds are over our

  132. community and we stand in the gate.

  133. You don't feel anything but you declare it.

  134. You might not feel anything, but the Spirit is shaking because

  135. the Saints, the church is alive. The living Word of God is part

  136. of the living church, and we are standing on the Word, declaring

  137. it in the spiritual realm. But we also want to see social

  138. transformation. That's where we edification of

  139. the Saints for the work of the ministry.

  140. Now we go out there to work and we start to bring social

  141. transformation. We do this in our schools.

  142. We don't stand or we don't allow.

  143. It's so hard, I understand that. But cultural pressures to

  144. dictate to us and our world. You might feel like you can't

  145. change everything in your school, everything in your

  146. university, or everything in your workplace, but you can

  147. change it for one person. You can change it for yourself.

  148. As a star, I am strong enough in the things of the Lord man.

  149. I am strong enough in the identity of who I am as a a man.

  150. Women in the house. My man is strong enough in his

  151. identity for me to follow. And I'm going to allow that

  152. process to come to fruition so that he's, once again, you know,

  153. that the male issue that we have in the world today is not just a

  154. male issue, it's also a female issue.

  155. We have to allow the man to rise.

  156. And listen, you might say I allow him to rise, but if he

  157. doesn't feel that you allow him to rise, he still won't.

  158. He actually has to feel it. He has to know it and he has to

  159. be encouraged in him. But man, I'm calling out of you

  160. today this spiritual transformation we want to see,

  161. this social transformation we want to see it has to be led by

  162. us, US men. We have to rise up not just in

  163. the church, but in our houses, in our workplaces, in the

  164. community, wherever we are, no matter how young you might be,

  165. if you're a male. We need to rise up.

  166. And we need to say it's not rise up in dictatorship.

  167. Like I use a rule doing this wrong.

  168. No rise up in example in your example application of who you

  169. are saying I will not be part of this, but we also rise up in the

  170. spirit realm and as things are happening around you, you're

  171. breaking their power in the spirit realm.

  172. You know, I, I drive my car like all the time, all the time and I

  173. see people on the streets. I say God, I call that young boy

  174. to church. Salvation is his.

  175. I call that man to church. Salvation is theirs.

  176. I walk to shopping centres like this.

  177. I'm just praying in my mind and my in my spirit.

  178. I, I pray for every stronghold over that person on the side of

  179. the street. Right now.

  180. I break its power. It has no place in my city.

  181. You can only declare that if you pray that on your day-to-day

  182. basis. See, I can declare that because

  183. every day I'm out there breaking the powers over the city.

  184. See the devil knows me by name. Would he know you by name?

  185. Would he know you by name? I love what Paul said in the

  186. scriptures. Sounds arrogant but it's really

  187. not because I just did it so it can't be right.

  188. But he said I wish you all prayed as much as I do.

  189. I wish you all had authority over this community like I do.

  190. I can only say that it's not an arrogance because I do it and

  191. I'm calling this church in 2026 into alignment.

  192. We will see spiritual and social transformation and we will see

  193. it because I believe with all of my heart, we've done preparation

  194. for five years in this church amongst our own lives.

  195. We we have done like if I said raise your hand, I'm pretty sure

  196. at least half of us would raise our hand.

  197. We've done so much spiritual preparation in this church over

  198. five years that I bet that you were waiting and saying, well,

  199. what are we doing? Well, here we go.

  200. We're calling God's border clear.

  201. It's spiritual transformation, social transformation.

  202. Wherever you are, bring social transformation.

  203. Let me tell you, I've, I shared this at our leaders retreat a

  204. week ago. All the leaders of the church,

  205. we get together for a week and and talk through the future of

  206. the church and I have often got up here and I need to repent

  207. today. I'm going to take some water

  208. first and I've talked about preaching on the street corner

  209. and because when I think of that, I have an old fashioned

  210. thought process with it. And I've just spoken about what

  211. street corner preaching isn't. It's not dictatorship, it's not

  212. telling people they're going to hell.

  213. We feel like that because the fire of God is inside of us.

  214. But love doesn't sound like that.

  215. And so that's not what the corner thing is.

  216. But I believe God wants to bring transformation to old fashioned

  217. ideas. And let me tell you this, I say

  218. that because of this. It's not street corner, I

  219. understand. But everywhere you go, Jesus is

  220. on your lips. Melanie's dad is just like the

  221. gold at this. Oh, let me pray for you brother.

  222. You know they'll just talk Jesus into someone.

  223. They're just like, whoa, what's this?

  224. He knows what what? They're weird, but oh, give me

  225. more. They're in an hours

  226. conversations leading them to God.

  227. Shane and Robin are like this everywhere they go, leading

  228. people to Jesus. Let's have Jesus on our lips.

  229. Let's declare the goodness of God.

  230. Let's shout it from the mountaintops.

  231. Amen. Let's make sure I have this

  232. thing in my life that if you enter my sphere, my world,

  233. right, don't expect cushion. You know, you just don't expect

  234. me to not say truth. I'll say it in love, but it's

  235. got to be truth laced in love where it's got to be like Jesus

  236. can heal this, You know, Would you like me to pray?

  237. You know, just ask the questions.

  238. You get denied 2029 times, but the 30th you get a miracle.

  239. He wants to see some miracles starting to happen, right?

  240. So give us some 29 times this year.

  241. Amen, Amen. It's 30 ish days in a month.

  242. Should have a miracle a month. All right, Proverbs 2918 says

  243. where there is no vision, the people perish.

  244. There's no perishing today. But let me tell you, not just

  245. for this church, don't let your family perish.

  246. Put vision back into their lives.

  247. The truth is people don't lack effort, they lack clarity.

  248. People don't lack intention, they lack passion.

  249. Passion comes from being intentionally moved by the

  250. purpose or the vision. So today this isn't hearing

  251. Pastor Greg. This is like go home, download

  252. Podbean and listen to this message 101 times because we

  253. have to get this in US so that this becomes our purpose.

  254. If you're, if you're going to be so influenced by the church and

  255. who we are as a church, just join the mission.

  256. If, if, if the church moves and it impacts your life, if you're

  257. going to dress your kids up to come every single Sunday, if

  258. you're going to go to a discipleship group during the

  259. week or creative team, just get part of it.

  260. Be part of it. Like let's, let's, let's get

  261. this in us. Because without vision, you will

  262. perish on the inside. But with vision, healing will

  263. flow. Sickness flows through

  264. stagnation. Pastor John said it this

  265. morning, if you stay in bed, guess what?

  266. A month later, you're still feeling sick.

  267. But at some point in spiritually we have to move our feet around

  268. and put those on the ground and say, God, I don't have the

  269. strength, but I believe you do and start to work those

  270. spiritual muscles up of the feet.

  271. Meaning in life comes from your vision for life.

  272. Some people here may feel tired or overwhelmed.

  273. That was 2025. But it's not that.

  274. You should be better at doing more.

  275. It's time to get focus and clarity back into your world, to

  276. move forward towards what matters most, to take up the

  277. invite this morning to bring spiritual and social

  278. transformation to our city. Not just to know the words, but

  279. to bring it every day you wake up.

  280. I'm bringing it today, God, God, what's what's on the agenda

  281. today? Because I'm bringing it today,

  282. going to work. I'm bringing it to my city

  283. today. What is it, God?

  284. Is it spiritual? Do I have to say something

  285. because I'm bringing it today? Can we all say out loud right

  286. now? I'm bringing it.

  287. Let's say it louder. Once again, I'm bringing it.

  288. We're bringing it, OK Amen. We aren't talking about it.

  289. We're not thinking about it. We're not loving Pastor Gray and

  290. Mel because they've got this great vision and I really like

  291. the sound and the melodic flow of what they say.

  292. No, no, no, we're saying I am bringing it.

  293. I don't know what Pastor Gray is doing today, but I'm bringing

  294. it. I don't know what the church is

  295. doing today. They might be sleeping, but I'm

  296. bringing it. Amen.

  297. Amen. So let's be walking the same

  298. path and unmistakably influence our world for good and for God.

  299. I believe as we grow individually, the church grows

  300. corporately. What do I mean by this?

  301. If you and I allow God to do good work in us, to teach us, to

  302. mature us, to redefine who we are, to stretch us and to heal

  303. us and all the things that that entails, we become a better

  304. influence on others. We become clearer in our

  305. doctrines. We become more forgiving, we

  306. become more caring, we become more and more like Jesus, and we

  307. become more in love with Jesus. Now, I've only ever seen this in

  308. church life when the church is online with discipleship.

  309. And This Is Us in 2026 discipleship.

  310. It's common these days that Sunday church gatherings are our

  311. main import to growth in the things of God, in the things of

  312. the Lord. Sunday services are not a tiny

  313. part of what biblical discipleship is, sorry.

  314. They are only a tiny part of what biblical disciple is.

  315. Jesus had 12 close disciples that walked with him daily.

  316. We are called biblically to grow daily in the things of God.

  317. We are called biblically to grow non-stop in the things of the

  318. Lord. It's not a Sunday gathering

  319. thing. It's not a listening to the word

  320. and and in thinking of that, that message today was great

  321. Pastor Gray and we we do that or I listened to your message last

  322. week. We are called to be transformed

  323. by it. And who knows?

  324. You can only be transformed by the word of God with the Spirit

  325. of God. The Bible actually teaches that

  326. the the word of God is foolishness to people who don't

  327. have the Spirit of God. It's, it's like a book of books.

  328. It's just like there's so many books in there and, and they

  329. start to say things like all the, the doctrines don't line up

  330. and there's, there's all these things that just I can't make

  331. sense of. You say this and then you mean

  332. this later on. And New Testament, Old

  333. Testament, when people talk like that, I'm just like, man, do you

  334. want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit?

  335. Like then the Spirit of life, the word becomes living and we

  336. don't see cross doctrines, we see life.

  337. And then when you see it as the living word of God, you realize,

  338. oh, that scripture in the Old Testament, I understand it's

  339. application now and I understand how in Jesus it can look so

  340. different and we start to pull the pieces.

  341. But that's the Holy Spirit working.

  342. Every time you get a revelation when you read, that's the Holy

  343. Spirit flowing through you. You don't need tingles to know

  344. the Holy Spirit's with you. You know, you read the Word of

  345. God and you just feel peace. Holy Spirit's through me today.

  346. You know when you read the word of God and you, you feel like

  347. you can conquer the world, all of a sudden Holy Spirit's with

  348. you today. This is the power of the gospel.

  349. Amen. So this year we are calling

  350. everybody to walk on the path of discipleship and this is done

  351. through discipleship groups and one-on-one discipleship.

  352. Second Timothy 22 and the things that you have heard from me

  353. among many witnesses commit these to faithful men who will

  354. be able to teach others also discipleship.

  355. Timothy here is talking about multiplicational discipleship,

  356. where one person teaches another who teaches another

  357. multiplicational discipleship. Amen.

  358. So as a as we grow individually, the church grows corporately.

  359. Now, I'm not talking just numeric here.

  360. I am, but I'm also talking we as I grow, I influence those in my

  361. discipleship group to go grow. Or the more I'm going.

  362. Let me tell you, I disciple people, right?

  363. Every every week I'm discipling someone.

  364. I don't go, yeah, because I've got it all together.

  365. So I've got stuff to teach you. If I'm discipling someone, I'm

  366. being discipled myself. You can be the pastor of a

  367. church and still need discipleship.

  368. Hey man, everyone's like, hey man, discipleship is not a

  369. program. Discipleship is not a gathering.

  370. It's a rhythm. It's a pathway.

  371. It's what makes the vision real. Discipleship is not mentorship.

  372. Discipleship is focused to become more like Jesus more than

  373. becoming a better practising Christian or a better person.

  374. Discipleship is designed biblically so we become more

  375. like Jesus and more in love with who Jesus is and the man of

  376. Jesus Christ. Discipleship is the foundation

  377. of ministry. When a person is discipled, a

  378. person can then disciple. You cannot disciple someone if

  379. you've never been discipled yourself because what are you

  380. disciple in them to through and who for?

  381. This is a corporate initiative that needs to be taken up

  382. individually. Today, biblical discipleship is

  383. focused on Jesus to become more like Him.

  384. So as this church embraces discipleship, we are not

  385. embracing life groups where we gather without being

  386. transformed. This is why we are now moving

  387. the word or the term to discipleship groups is because

  388. it says it for itself. This group is about

  389. discipleship, not about bike riding.

  390. This is it's not a gathering on. We aren't saying the church can

  391. never gather, have friends, but we are saying this, those who

  392. grow together will want to hang together.

  393. You always want to hang with and have barbecues with and go to

  394. the beach with people who understand you, people that you

  395. trust and they can trust you, right?

  396. That's where the best wholesome fun and joy of life comes from

  397. as a church. God never commissioned the

  398. church or even Christians to go out and have the best, biggest

  399. barbecues. He never commissioned the church

  400. to be so social. It's ridiculous.

  401. The devil does that to the world.

  402. That's why when they think of hell, they're happy to go to

  403. hell because it's the best barbecue they've ever had.

  404. You've all heard that, right? The enemy is trying to make the

  405. world a social world, but God is trying to make the world a

  406. Kingdom world with a future. The Bible says to go into all

  407. the world and make disciples. Edification for the work of the

  408. ministry. Edification is one small element

  409. of discipleship, but discipleship, the smaller the

  410. group gets, the better and more powerful the discipleship

  411. journey will be. This is good church bringing

  412. some clarity for us this year. We are embracing a new culture

  413. of growth in our spiritual formation and personal influence

  414. that exemplifies Jesus Christ as a church.

  415. We're embracing this new growth this year and really this whole

  416. process. And I can't wait in two weeks

  417. I've got a message that I'm busting to preach.

  418. But the reality, this whole process starts when we first

  419. give our lives to Jesus Christ, when we believe in our heart and

  420. confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, we become

  421. Christians in that very moments. There's no process, there's no

  422. hoops you got to jump. We, we, we learned this a lot.

  423. If you've been here before, it's not performance based or

  424. behavioural based, being a Christian or a child of God.

  425. In fact, every human being that's ever existed is a child

  426. of God, just some reject His authority as their Father and

  427. others, the church, accept who He is as their Father, and they

  428. give their lives back to Him. But God is always prepared and

  429. waiting for and encouraging and stirring people to come back to

  430. Him. And when we come back to Him, He

  431. gives us the greatest thing ever, the living Holy Bible.

  432. And this is where discipleship starts.

  433. You know, the Bible teaches us that the Apostle Paul was

  434. disciple through the Holy Spirit.

  435. Now there's a whole Siaga around that and massive story around

  436. that. But the Holy Spirit then comes

  437. into your life and he strengthens you when he he leads

  438. you that that's the worship team walking out, that they're not

  439. walking out. This is a great message this

  440. morning, but they're not walking out on me right.

  441. I I'll encourage myself because she's a pretty quiet this

  442. morning, but I know it's just thinking in.

  443. And so when you give your life to God, you, you start the the

  444. beginning journeys of a discipleship journey.

  445. And the church, the Christians have a responsibility to to make

  446. sure that discipleship journey gets more thorough, gets

  447. stronger and more saturated to help you become more in love

  448. with Jesus and more like Jesus because he is the source of

  449. life. Amen.
