Walking The Same Path | Ps Graeme Politanski

Hey, welcome to the City Point Church podcast.

Thanks for joining us. Every day is an opportunity to

take hold of. So we hope this message inspires

you and build your faith, but it helps you have more of a God

perspective for your day. Enjoy.

I have a word in my heart, a word for the church this year,

which is absolutely awesome. And so the title of today's

message is Walking the Same path, Walking the same path.

Now this year as a church in every single department, we are

walking in the same direction, down the same path.

We aren't looking at a point saying I'm getting there, but

we're all taking our own pathway to there.

We are literally tripping over each other down the path as we

walk on the same path in the same direction to the same goal

or vision for this church. Immense unity.

This year we call it alignment. So in the life of this church,

we as a church body Melon. I have been the location pastors

of this great church for five years now, and God has been just

bringing more and more clarity every single year of how He

wants to move. And this is for us the year of

alignment and the year of Disciple ship.

So this year we're not thinking about doing more.

We are thinking about where we are going together.

So it's not about just more meetings, greater meetings,

bigger meetings, all of that. What we're doing this year is as

a church, which means you and I, we are looking at where are we

going together? Psalms 133, verses 1 and verse 3

Psalms 133:1

says how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell

together in unity. Verse 3 For there the Lord

commands the blessing. Can you say I am blessed because

I'm in unity with the church? Amen.

So that's where your blessing is found.

If you're not walking in the reality of blessing, you have to

ask the question, do I know the mission of the church?

Do I believe what the church preaches?

And I am I not following the church?

Am I part of the church? Because when you bring your

whole world into alignment there the Lord will bring blessing for

you. When we say as pastor Mel has

already this morning that as a church we exist to bring

spiritual and social transformation to our sitting.

This is not a slogan. We are not painting it on the

walls. We need this to get into our

hearts, into our spirits, into the purpose of why I, not even

the church now, why I exist, is to bring spiritual and social

transformation to our city. Not a slogan, it's a calling.

It's a calling this morning. It's God saying I want to move

through this church, the individuals and as a corporate

church body through you to bring change to your neighborhoods, to

your schools, to your universities and to your

workplaces. Do you believe that this

morning? Let me say this, Do you believe

that God can do that this morning?

Do you believe that God can use you to do that this morning?

See, that's really where it is, where it's at.

That's where unity really is. I have found in my Christian

walk of growing up in the church, I have found that every

church believes God can do it. But when the question is posed,

can God do it through me? That is a real question.

Well, I'm falling over here. That's a real question.

I remember when God 1st called me personally, I was young to

the realm of miracles and then that just lingered with me and I

was just like, man, I just got to pray like Billy Graham, I

assume he prays, you know, to have that anointing.

I've just got to pray 24 hours a day and I couldn't do that.

And so I just, I was always striving and then we became

pastors in the church when Pastor Rick was still the

location pastor. And it just got heavy on me.

And, and so I started to tap into the realities more mentally

and spiritually of God, like like me, not just the church

through worship or when Pastor Rick preaches.

And then we became the location pastors and God's like, there we

are. And I'm like, really God.

And what I realized is always the catalyst for the church.

Does this make sense? And so you'll notice that our

miracle services every year, I don't pray much for people, our

leadership and our pastors in the church, God's using all of

them. And so the step between faith in

God being God, in faith of God being my God, then the faith

level it requires for God to be the God that operates through my

life. Now we're talking.

Does this make sense? And let me tell you here this

morning as you grab this vision to bring spiritual and social

transformation, spiritual, which means for you personally to

allow the Spirit of the God to break things and for you to come

in partnership with the God and the Spirit of God of God.

Yes, use me. I will do it.

I will actually do it. I will be the one.

I will lay the hands, I will step out.

I will conquer fear through this.

I'll do whatever, but use me. And that spiritual like, like

binding thing breaks open in your life and freedom comes in

that area. And then you move from that to

this belief. You're you're joining Pastor

Rachel's prayer teaching course. And you and you come to the

Sunday night services and allow the edification of the Saints

for the work of the ministry just flow over and over you and

you start believing for spiritual breakthrough over the

community, but you don't believe for it.

You're in the do company now, right?

God use me. I will do it.

And So what you start to do is you my phone's down there, but

in my phone, I've got this. I saved the a Safari Google page

to my home screen that has all the spiritual strongholds that

the Bible says by name. And so most days I pray over

this community, God, I break the deaf dumb spirit.

God, I break the spirit of divinity over the city and I

just start going through them because we want to specie

spiritual transformation. Does this make sense?

And so this is the church in the do action in the proactive

church, not consumers consumer age.

That's a weird word. But anyway, it should be in the

dictionary. You'll find it.

You'll find it. Come tell me, not a consumer age

church, but rather a proactive church.

The Holy Spirit doesn't give you a sword to have shiny on a

mantelpiece at home, but he also didn't give you a sword and say

now go dictate to the community. He gave you a sword because we

fight a spiritual battle. We don't fight against flesh and

blood, but against principalities and powers.

Church, would we unite in 2026 and say I am partnering with

you, God, you have already partnered with me, but we are

going to see spiritual transformation over this great

city of ours in Jesus name. Let me tell you this isn't just

a great city, this is your great city.

We have to fight for it and we fight for it in a spiritual

battle. We get out the sword of the

spirit. We already got the shoes of

peace on when we got out of bed this morning and we we start to

fight a spiritual battle. We open it up in Google and we

find out what the spiritual strongholds are over our

community and we stand in the gate.

You don't feel anything but you declare it.

You might not feel anything, but the Spirit is shaking because

the Saints, the church is alive. The living Word of God is part

of the living church, and we are standing on the Word, declaring

it in the spiritual realm. But we also want to see social

transformation. That's where we edification of

the Saints for the work of the ministry.

Now we go out there to work and we start to bring social

transformation. We do this in our schools.

We don't stand or we don't allow.

It's so hard, I understand that. But cultural pressures to

dictate to us and our world. You might feel like you can't

change everything in your school, everything in your

university, or everything in your workplace, but you can

change it for one person. You can change it for yourself.

As a star, I am strong enough in the things of the Lord man.

I am strong enough in the identity of who I am as a a man.

Women in the house. My man is strong enough in his

identity for me to follow. And I'm going to allow that

process to come to fruition so that he's, once again, you know,

that the male issue that we have in the world today is not just a

male issue, it's also a female issue.

We have to allow the man to rise.

And listen, you might say I allow him to rise, but if he

doesn't feel that you allow him to rise, he still won't.

He actually has to feel it. He has to know it and he has to

be encouraged in him. But man, I'm calling out of you

today this spiritual transformation we want to see,

this social transformation we want to see it has to be led by

us, US men. We have to rise up not just in

the church, but in our houses, in our workplaces, in the

community, wherever we are, no matter how young you might be,

if you're a male. We need to rise up.

And we need to say it's not rise up in dictatorship.

Like I use a rule doing this wrong.

No rise up in example in your example application of who you

are saying I will not be part of this, but we also rise up in the

spirit realm and as things are happening around you, you're

breaking their power in the spirit realm.

You know, I, I drive my car like all the time, all the time and I

see people on the streets. I say God, I call that young boy

to church. Salvation is his.

I call that man to church. Salvation is theirs.

I walk to shopping centres like this.

I'm just praying in my mind and my in my spirit.

I, I pray for every stronghold over that person on the side of

the street. Right now.

I break its power. It has no place in my city.

You can only declare that if you pray that on your day-to-day

basis. See, I can declare that because

every day I'm out there breaking the powers over the city.

See the devil knows me by name. Would he know you by name?

Would he know you by name? I love what Paul said in the

scriptures. Sounds arrogant but it's really

not because I just did it so it can't be right.

But he said I wish you all prayed as much as I do.

I wish you all had authority over this community like I do.

I can only say that it's not an arrogance because I do it and

I'm calling this church in 2026 into alignment.

We will see spiritual and social transformation and we will see

it because I believe with all of my heart, we've done preparation

for five years in this church amongst our own lives.

We we have done like if I said raise your hand, I'm pretty sure

at least half of us would raise our hand.

We've done so much spiritual preparation in this church over

five years that I bet that you were waiting and saying, well,

what are we doing? Well, here we go.

We're calling God's border clear.

It's spiritual transformation, social transformation.

Wherever you are, bring social transformation.

Let me tell you, I've, I shared this at our leaders retreat a

week ago. All the leaders of the church,

we get together for a week and and talk through the future of

the church and I have often got up here and I need to repent

today. I'm going to take some water

first and I've talked about preaching on the street corner

and because when I think of that, I have an old fashioned

thought process with it. And I've just spoken about what

street corner preaching isn't. It's not dictatorship, it's not

telling people they're going to hell.

We feel like that because the fire of God is inside of us.

But love doesn't sound like that.

And so that's not what the corner thing is.

But I believe God wants to bring transformation to old fashioned

ideas. And let me tell you this, I say

that because of this. It's not street corner, I

understand. But everywhere you go, Jesus is

on your lips. Melanie's dad is just like the

gold at this. Oh, let me pray for you brother.

You know they'll just talk Jesus into someone.

They're just like, whoa, what's this?

He knows what what? They're weird, but oh, give me

more. They're in an hours

conversations leading them to God.

Shane and Robin are like this everywhere they go, leading

people to Jesus. Let's have Jesus on our lips.

Let's declare the goodness of God.

Let's shout it from the mountaintops.

Amen. Let's make sure I have this

thing in my life that if you enter my sphere, my world,

right, don't expect cushion. You know, you just don't expect

me to not say truth. I'll say it in love, but it's

got to be truth laced in love where it's got to be like Jesus

can heal this, You know, Would you like me to pray?

You know, just ask the questions.

You get denied 2029 times, but the 30th you get a miracle.

He wants to see some miracles starting to happen, right?

So give us some 29 times this year.

Amen, Amen. It's 30 ish days in a month.

Should have a miracle a month. All right, Proverbs 2918 says

where there is no vision, the people perish.

There's no perishing today. But let me tell you, not just

for this church, don't let your family perish.

Put vision back into their lives.

The truth is people don't lack effort, they lack clarity.

People don't lack intention, they lack passion.

Passion comes from being intentionally moved by the

purpose or the vision. So today this isn't hearing

Pastor Greg. This is like go home, download

Podbean and listen to this message 101 times because we

have to get this in US so that this becomes our purpose.

If you're, if you're going to be so influenced by the church and

who we are as a church, just join the mission.

If, if, if the church moves and it impacts your life, if you're

going to dress your kids up to come every single Sunday, if

you're going to go to a discipleship group during the

week or creative team, just get part of it.

Be part of it. Like let's, let's, let's get

this in us. Because without vision, you will

perish on the inside. But with vision, healing will

flow. Sickness flows through

stagnation. Pastor John said it this

morning, if you stay in bed, guess what?

A month later, you're still feeling sick.

But at some point in spiritually we have to move our feet around

and put those on the ground and say, God, I don't have the

strength, but I believe you do and start to work those

spiritual muscles up of the feet.

Meaning in life comes from your vision for life.

Some people here may feel tired or overwhelmed.

That was 2025. But it's not that.

You should be better at doing more.

It's time to get focus and clarity back into your world, to

move forward towards what matters most, to take up the

invite this morning to bring spiritual and social

transformation to our city. Not just to know the words, but

to bring it every day you wake up.

I'm bringing it today, God, God, what's what's on the agenda

today? Because I'm bringing it today,

going to work. I'm bringing it to my city

today. What is it, God?

Is it spiritual? Do I have to say something

because I'm bringing it today? Can we all say out loud right

now? I'm bringing it.

Let's say it louder. Once again, I'm bringing it.

We're bringing it, OK Amen. We aren't talking about it.

We're not thinking about it. We're not loving Pastor Gray and

Mel because they've got this great vision and I really like

the sound and the melodic flow of what they say.

No, no, no, we're saying I am bringing it.

I don't know what Pastor Gray is doing today, but I'm bringing

it. I don't know what the church is

doing today. They might be sleeping, but I'm

bringing it. Amen.

Amen. So let's be walking the same

path and unmistakably influence our world for good and for God.

I believe as we grow individually, the church grows

corporately. What do I mean by this?

If you and I allow God to do good work in us, to teach us, to

mature us, to redefine who we are, to stretch us and to heal

us and all the things that that entails, we become a better

influence on others. We become clearer in our

doctrines. We become more forgiving, we

become more caring, we become more and more like Jesus, and we

become more in love with Jesus. Now, I've only ever seen this in

church life when the church is online with discipleship.

And This Is Us in 2026 discipleship.

It's common these days that Sunday church gatherings are our

main import to growth in the things of God, in the things of

the Lord. Sunday services are not a tiny

part of what biblical discipleship is, sorry.

They are only a tiny part of what biblical disciple is.

Jesus had 12 close disciples that walked with him daily.

We are called biblically to grow daily in the things of God.

We are called biblically to grow non-stop in the things of the

Lord. It's not a Sunday gathering

thing. It's not a listening to the word

and and in thinking of that, that message today was great

Pastor Gray and we we do that or I listened to your message last

week. We are called to be transformed

by it. And who knows?

You can only be transformed by the word of God with the Spirit

of God. The Bible actually teaches that

the the word of God is foolishness to people who don't

have the Spirit of God. It's, it's like a book of books.

It's just like there's so many books in there and, and they

start to say things like all the, the doctrines don't line up

and there's, there's all these things that just I can't make

sense of. You say this and then you mean

this later on. And New Testament, Old

Testament, when people talk like that, I'm just like, man, do you

want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit?

Like then the Spirit of life, the word becomes living and we

don't see cross doctrines, we see life.

And then when you see it as the living word of God, you realize,

oh, that scripture in the Old Testament, I understand it's

application now and I understand how in Jesus it can look so

different and we start to pull the pieces.

But that's the Holy Spirit working.

Every time you get a revelation when you read, that's the Holy

Spirit flowing through you. You don't need tingles to know

the Holy Spirit's with you. You know, you read the Word of

God and you just feel peace. Holy Spirit's through me today.

You know when you read the word of God and you, you feel like

you can conquer the world, all of a sudden Holy Spirit's with

you today. This is the power of the gospel.

Amen. So this year we are calling

everybody to walk on the path of discipleship and this is done

through discipleship groups and one-on-one discipleship.

Second Timothy 22 and the things that you have heard from me

among many witnesses commit these to faithful men who will

be able to teach others also discipleship.

Timothy here is talking about multiplicational discipleship,

where one person teaches another who teaches another

multiplicational discipleship. Amen.

So as a as we grow individually, the church grows corporately.

Now, I'm not talking just numeric here.

I am, but I'm also talking we as I grow, I influence those in my

discipleship group to go grow. Or the more I'm going.

Let me tell you, I disciple people, right?

Every every week I'm discipling someone.

I don't go, yeah, because I've got it all together.

So I've got stuff to teach you. If I'm discipling someone, I'm

being discipled myself. You can be the pastor of a

church and still need discipleship.

Hey man, everyone's like, hey man, discipleship is not a

program. Discipleship is not a gathering.

It's a rhythm. It's a pathway.

It's what makes the vision real. Discipleship is not mentorship.

Discipleship is focused to become more like Jesus more than

becoming a better practising Christian or a better person.

Discipleship is designed biblically so we become more

like Jesus and more in love with who Jesus is and the man of

Jesus Christ. Discipleship is the foundation

of ministry. When a person is discipled, a

person can then disciple. You cannot disciple someone if

you've never been discipled yourself because what are you

disciple in them to through and who for?

This is a corporate initiative that needs to be taken up

individually. Today, biblical discipleship is

focused on Jesus to become more like Him.

So as this church embraces discipleship, we are not

embracing life groups where we gather without being

transformed. This is why we are now moving

the word or the term to discipleship groups is because

it says it for itself. This group is about

discipleship, not about bike riding.

This is it's not a gathering on. We aren't saying the church can

never gather, have friends, but we are saying this, those who

grow together will want to hang together.

You always want to hang with and have barbecues with and go to

the beach with people who understand you, people that you

trust and they can trust you, right?

That's where the best wholesome fun and joy of life comes from

as a church. God never commissioned the

church or even Christians to go out and have the best, biggest

barbecues. He never commissioned the church

to be so social. It's ridiculous.

The devil does that to the world.

That's why when they think of hell, they're happy to go to

hell because it's the best barbecue they've ever had.

You've all heard that, right? The enemy is trying to make the

world a social world, but God is trying to make the world a

Kingdom world with a future. The Bible says to go into all

the world and make disciples. Edification for the work of the

ministry. Edification is one small element

of discipleship, but discipleship, the smaller the

group gets, the better and more powerful the discipleship

journey will be. This is good church bringing

some clarity for us this year. We are embracing a new culture

of growth in our spiritual formation and personal influence

that exemplifies Jesus Christ as a church.

We're embracing this new growth this year and really this whole

process. And I can't wait in two weeks

I've got a message that I'm busting to preach.

But the reality, this whole process starts when we first

give our lives to Jesus Christ, when we believe in our heart and

confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, we become

Christians in that very moments. There's no process, there's no

hoops you got to jump. We, we, we learned this a lot.

If you've been here before, it's not performance based or

behavioural based, being a Christian or a child of God.

In fact, every human being that's ever existed is a child

of God, just some reject His authority as their Father and

others, the church, accept who He is as their Father, and they

give their lives back to Him. But God is always prepared and

waiting for and encouraging and stirring people to come back to

Him. And when we come back to Him, He

gives us the greatest thing ever, the living Holy Bible.

And this is where discipleship starts.

You know, the Bible teaches us that the Apostle Paul was

disciple through the Holy Spirit.

Now there's a whole Siaga around that and massive story around

that. But the Holy Spirit then comes

into your life and he strengthens you when he he leads

you that that's the worship team walking out, that they're not

walking out. This is a great message this

morning, but they're not walking out on me right.

I I'll encourage myself because she's a pretty quiet this

morning, but I know it's just thinking in.

And so when you give your life to God, you, you start the the

beginning journeys of a discipleship journey.

And the church, the Christians have a responsibility to to make

sure that discipleship journey gets more thorough, gets

stronger and more saturated to help you become more in love

with Jesus and more like Jesus because he is the source of

life. Amen.
