that Ruth clung to her And so Ruth now

as a foreigner immigrates to

Bethlehem And when Naomi gets there

people couldn't recognize her probably

cuuse she just looked devastated

Um and she says "Don't call me Naomi."

And Naomi means something like sweeted

and bitterness She says "Call me Mata

which means bitterness The Lord's hand

has been against me." And she's just

she's really grieving and

suffering Um and Ruth begins to innovate

and find ways to provide for her family

for her Uh and Ruth has already chosen

that Naomi's God will be her God

greedy And yet this story is taking

place in the midst of all of that intent

to us that though the world is falling

apart God is still at work in the lives

of ordinary

people The God is still present and at

work in his mission calling us to be

like Naomi to be like Ruth and to be

like Boas One of the rare books in the

Bible where almost every human

being should be imitated

are taking care of And yes there might

be some consequences but you can be

redeemed And so

Naomi rather than to go into slavery

with Ruth in her situation has an

opportunity to be redeemed back and be

part of a land

community That is what the redeemer

does Why is judges so messed up because

some of these redeemers are getting

corrupt have become right and taken

advantage of that How can I accumulate

more but Boas is not after accumulation

of more but is about the fulfillment of

God's law And so it lets us know that

Boas is very well aware of the covenant

of

God All of that is taking

place And hopefully we're using this as

an example to slow read

restore us back to a land thing but to

restore us spiritually into a family

into the harvest

seasons so that we are not in slavery

and bondage and scarcity but in

abundance and

blessings So in a lot of ways this story

is about Jesus
