  1. Open your Bible to. Galatians chapter 5 we're going

    Galatians 5 chapter mention

  2. to be picking up in verse. Two.

  3. It's so. Good to have you here.

  4. If you've been with us for the last.

  5. Few weeks and months we've been going through Galatians.

  6. Actually, Paul has been. Wrestling with our hearts.

  7. As he did with the church in Galatia for four.

  8. Chapters because what has? Happened is Paul's gone into?

  9. Galatia, He shared the. Gospel He's seen radical

  10. salvations. He's seen the Holy Spirit hover

  11. and minister lives changed. But now he's hearing news that

  12. some plonkers have gone in there and have started to preach

  13. another gospel. And this gospel is.

  14. The fact that the. Cross is not enough.

  15. You really need to work. Hard at your salvation.

  16. You need to balance these scales.

  17. I mean, your past is pretty. Shady.

  18. So you've got to do a whole bunch of good works.

  19. Even begin to measure up to what?

  20. God is. Expecting of you.

  21. Or the fact that, you know, you were adopted.

  22. You're now a son. No, no, no, no, no.

  23. You're. Still a slave, you?

  24. Know, can we take you to the scriptures and show you where

  25. you're a disappointment and a failure and you need to measure

  26. up to Paul. I think he's pulling his hair

  27. out. I can just, you know, I have a

  28. vivid imagination, but I can see him sort of pacing in in the

  29. study and you know, he's got his quill in his hands.

  30. Like what more must I tell? These people to get through.

  31. And then he gets. To chapter 5 verse.

  32. Two which says listen. I Paul tell you.

  33. This Read my lips if you are counting on circumcision to make

  34. you. Right with God he uses.

  35. Circumcision as a blanket term for trying hard, doing better,

  36. pulling up your socks, earning your salvation.

  37. If you are counting on circumcision to make.

  38. You right with God. Then Christ will be of no

  39. benefit. To you.

  40. I'll say it again, if you're trying to find favor with God by

  41. being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole

  42. Law of Moses. For if you're trying to make

  43. yourself. Right with God by.

  44. Keeping the law. You've been cut off from Christ.

  45. You have. Fallen away from.

  46. God's grace. Them's fighting words.

  47. And I know what he's. Doing I know what's.

  48. Stirring in his heart. Because that's my Monday.

  49. Yeah. You go to church and it's

  50. beautiful. And you whipped in this baptisms

  51. and you see people saved. And then on Monday you think

  52. something, do something, see something.

  53. And all of a sudden, I don't know if I don't approach God

  54. anymore. I need to start piling up my

  55. work. So I've got to take my spiritual

  56. pulse. So I've been looking at this

  57. because I'm like, Lord, that is me over and over again that.

  58. Is the city of Pretoria that is 3 CR the struggle this?

  59. Constant. Struggle.

  60. Between the cross, is it enough? And circumcision?

  61. Must I do more? Or as I.

  62. Like to say, and we're going. To look at today.

  63. We need to. Decide.

  64. Where do we find it? In the blade or in the blood?

  65. What is your hope the blade do? Better try harder, no longer a

  66. disappointment. Or the blood is the blood?

  67. Enough. So with this stirring in me, I'm

  68. going to, I'm going through the entire Old and New Testaments

  69. and look at the the value, the weight, the beauty and power of

  70. the blood. And I'm, I'm going to invite you

  71. on a bit of my journey. I'm going to squeeze it into the

  72. next 30 minutes of how God answered my question like Lord.

  73. Why is it? Because I think this is this is

  74. the reason why I'm vacillating between the two is because I,

  75. and I'm sure you are. Very.

  76. Familiar with the blade, Disappointment being a failure,

  77. Not measuring up, you're often told.

  78. Maybe your father raised you and told you.

  79. I heard of a guy who was called. Stupid number.

  80. Five by his. Dad until he was in his. 20s

  81. fifth child. Stupid number maybe like me,

  82. your nickname as a child was. Jerk.

  83. You're very. Familiar with this that you

  84. don't quite measure up. You never are going to measure

  85. up. You've got to do more.

  86. But we're so unfamiliar with the.

  87. Power of the blood. So I want to remind you.

  88. The power. Of the blood.

  89. Thank you, Klinto. Going right very to the very,

  90. very, very, very beginning, right like page one, you know,

  91. long before you even get into. The weeds Weed.

  92. Scripture. We found the very. 1st.

  93. Mention of the blood. Actually, the very first.

  94. Shedding of blood. You know the story Adam and

  95. Eve's, and remember what Paul saying here you want to.

  96. Do right. You want to be right with God.

  97. Well, these. Are the guys.

  98. Who made us unright? With God.

  99. And so they're sitting there trying to make right with God,

  100. but they're hiding in the in the bushes, naked and a shame full

  101. of guilt. They've sinned.

  102. And what we find in in Genesis 321 it says.

  103. The Lord. God made garments of skin for

  104. Adam and his wife and clothed them.

  105. This is the first time blood is shed.

  106. The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and

  107. clothed them. Now what's amazing there, just

  108. in passing, is the fact that somehow he's showing them that

  109. you can't approach me anymore. But by the blood.

  110. You can't have fellowship with me anymore.

  111. But by the blood. Actually.

  112. You are a Sinner, but for the blood.

  113. Now things. It's one of those verses that

  114. you sort of you'll just read. Past doesn't quite.

  115. Hit you? But I looked at that.

  116. I thought. That must have been a staggering

  117. moment for them, because we don't actually find.

  118. This blood. Issue being addressed or listen,

  119. you have to for centuries. But somehow what happened there

  120. with Adam and Eve made such an impact on them that we see

  121. generation after generation page.

  122. After page you just go through your Bible.

  123. From the beginning, as you wade into Genesis and Exodus, you

  124. find the blood again and again and again.

  125. But you also find the blade, so Adam and Eve.

  126. A covered blood is shed. They're allowed to.

  127. Commune with God once again. They're.

  128. Kids Cain and Abel Cain. He's a blade guy.

  129. Don't put your stuffs on me. I will worship you the way I

  130. want to worship. Yeah, my veggies, Abel.

  131. He's a blood guy. Somehow Abel saw.

  132. Somehow Abel understood because Hebrews, 11 says by faith.

  133. Abel brought. A lamb as a sacrifice, actually,

  134. what? This is I love.

  135. This part in Hebrews 11 that says.

  136. God testified to his offering. So he brings it by faith.

  137. And God testifies. I don't know what comes to mind

  138. when when you hear. The word testify.

  139. To me, it's like African American church, you know, with

  140. the. Pastor half, preaches half.

  141. Sings. You know, can I get a witness?

  142. I remember preaching. Yeah, it's filled filled

  143. brother. Come on.

  144. Glorious testify, I preached once.

  145. There was a guy about 3 or 4 rows.

  146. Back that kept saying tell us. Pastor, tell us.

  147. Testify that's what God is doing.

  148. That's what God. He's in heaven.

  149. He sees Abel. Bringing a lamb and he.

  150. Testifies. Gabriel, my uncle.

  151. Come. Guys, come take a look.

  152. He gets it. He gets it, but by the blood.

  153. He saw something with Adam and Eve and he's appropriated it for

  154. himself, unlike his brother Cain and you.

  155. Fast forward. Generations.

  156. And you come across a guy named Noah.

  157. Now when you were in Sunday school, you were taught that

  158. Noah took the animals. Two by two.

  159. Wrong. Seven by two.

  160. You know all the clean animals. He took seven pairs.

  161. See because. Noah had heard about his Great,

  162. great, great, great. Grandfather and grandmother and

  163. what had happened when they sinned and how God atoned for

  164. that, He's now witnessing first hand a generation that is going

  165. to be. Judged.

  166. By our Heavenly Father and he makes sure I'm not stepping back

  167. on earth. But by the blood.

  168. Takes 7 pairs of clean animals and the first thing he does is

  169. build an altar and sacrifice. To them.

  170. But by the blood you look at Abraham.

  171. God says, Listen, I want to make a covenant.

  172. With you, he cuts. Those animals in half, there's a

  173. shedding of blood, he says. Listen, I promise you.

  174. You will be a. Blessing and this land is yours.

  175. The first thing he does is build an altar and sheds blood as it

  176. comes off to him. Does exactly the same jacket

  177. comes off to him? Does exactly the same.

  178. The blood. The blood.

  179. Page after page. Why?

  180. The. Blood.

  181. You mess. Why?

  182. What's What's the deal with the blood well?

  183. I came to my conclusion from going from the very beginning to

  184. the very end. Right at the very end, in

  185. Revelation chapter 13, John is given a prophetic vision of the

    Revelation 13 chapter mention

  186. end times, the moments where people are being.

  187. Gathered. The Bible says that.

  188. It's appointed to man to die once and then comes judgment.

  189. So this is the context. Of this verse.

  190. And then it talks about the lamb.

  191. 'S Book of Life that is opened. And then the Bible gives, almost

  192. like in brackets, you know we're going to which lamb?

  193. And then says the following Revelation 13, it says the Lamb

  194. who was slain before the foundation of the.

  195. World, So we write. At the end, but actually we were

  196. looking at right at the. Very beginning.

  197. The Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world.

  198. Where was he slain? Because the world wasn't there.

  199. Jerusalem wasn't there. Rome hadn't come with the

  200. crucifixion idea just yet. Could only be that.

  201. Jesus was crucified in the heart of the Father before the

  202. foundation of the world, which means.

  203. That as we. Go through Genesis and Exodus

  204. and Leviticus and Deuteronomy and Numbers and all this blood

  205. being shed when God is looking on that.

  206. He was before. The Foundation.

  207. Of the world crucified. Slain in the heart of the

  208. Father, which means that the Father is looking at that blood.

  209. And he doesn't reduce. It to an animal.

  210. He raises it to. The blood of the lamb.

  211. So he looks on that in the shadow of the cross that will

  212. come one day, and he says it's so important that you get if you

  213. want to have fellowship with me. It requires blood if you want

  214. to. Approach me requires blood.

  215. If you want to be accepted by me, it will.

  216. Require blood. If you want to enter into my

  217. thing, it requires a covenant. It requires blood over and over

  218. and over again. This is why we found the blood

  219. from the very first. Pages of Scripture.

  220. But I want to show you. That's why it's so important to

  221. them, what's so important to God.

  222. But I want to show you why it's so important to me.

  223. Can't talk about the blood without going to the Passover.

  224. The problem with the Passover. Is that we've heard it so many

  225. times, The 10 plagues, the crossing of the Red Sea.

  226. That you approach it with. Preconceived ideas.

  227. So bear with me. Clean slate.

  228. Read and listen. This is Exodus 12.

  229. Why is the blood? So important to me.

  230. First one says the Lord said to Moses and Aaron and Egypt tell

  231. the whole community of Israel that on the 10th day of this

  232. month each man has to take a lamb for his family.

  233. Each for. One for each household.

  234. Take care of them until the 14th day of the month, when all the

  235. members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at

  236. twilight. Then they are to take some of

  237. the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the door

  238. frames of the houses where they eat the lambs.

  239. The blood on your blood on your hosts.

  240. Will circle as a. Sign marking the houses where

  241. you are staying. When I see the blood, I'll pass

  242. over you. And this?

  243. Plague of death. Will not touch you when I struck

  244. the land of Egypt. This plague.

  245. Of death will not touch you. When I struck the land of Egypt.

  246. I don't know if you know this, millennials.

  247. I don't know if your mommy's. Told you this, but.

  248. You're going to die. You're going to die by deadness,

  249. and you're going to be. Dead for a very.

  250. Very long time. I'm sorry.

  251. Sorry. Trigger warning.

  252. Trigger warning. Be ready.

  253. You're going to die for a long time.

  254. You owe it to yourself. To consider the blood of the

  255. lamb. The Bible says after.

  256. Death comes judgement, the eternal death.

  257. And what's interesting there is Paul is saying.

  258. Do you realize that if you are? Banking on your.

  259. Works that Christ is. Of no benefit to you when you.

  260. Face. The final death What are you

  261. going to hold up in front of your Heavenly Father?

  262. What is going to be on the doorposts?

  263. Of your heart only by the blood. I can tell you your CV that you

  264. worked so many years at Microsoft is going to count for

  265. next to nothing -1,000,000. You might have worked.

  266. Really, really hard because you've got a very.

  267. Shady background. And so now you've been giving

  268. money to the poor and working into those orphanages counts

  269. nothing. You're not going to hold your

  270. CV. You're not going to hold your.

  271. Status. Doesn't matter if you.

  272. Lived in Silver Lakes. Nothing but the blood.

  273. The plague of death. It actually says in Hebrews 11.

  274. It says by faith Moses kept the Passover and the application of

  275. blood. So that the Destroyer.

  276. Would not touch the first corner.

  277. I love that. So you're talking about death

  278. and the? Destroyer held at Bay by the

  279. blood. I don't know if you hear when,

  280. Rory. Spoke.

  281. We preached through. The Book of Job saw something

  282. there that I don't think I probably read it.

  283. I mean, you know, you've read. The Bible?

  284. A few. Times, but it never.

  285. Really stuck. What we know when we think of

  286. the book of Job is we know that Satan stands in the counsel of

  287. the Holy and he says listen, listen.

  288. Only reason why that Job guy likes you.

  289. The only reason why it comes to church, the only reason why he

  290. raises his hands and sings the Hallelujah, is because you don't

  291. let me touch him. I know that about job.

  292. But what I'm less familiar with was what you found in Job.

  293. Chapter One where every. Time his.

  294. Kids would have a. Weekend party, He'd wake up

  295. early in the morning. And he'd sacrifice.

  296. There would be a shedding of blood just in case they sinned,

  297. just in case the cursed God seemed like.

  298. Job's kids. Had some friends from the bluff

  299. and then he had those two kids come from Alfre's and he thought

  300. like, who need to now we need blood.

  301. We're in trouble. He called me then.

  302. He was like, but Derek Prince says this.

  303. He says. Although it's not directly

  304. evident, Job inadvertently is covering his entire family,

  305. himself included with the blood of the lamb like Moses did on

  306. the doorposts in Egypt. Which meant that Satan, who

  307. roams around like a roaring lung, seeking whom he may

  308. devour, finds a line in the sand dipped in the blood of the lamb,

  309. and he realizes and recognizes I may not devour.

  310. Such as the power of the blood that it keeps, it holds at Bay

  311. the Destroyer. And the plague of.

  312. Death, Paul says. Do you?

  313. Really think your good. Works your little bit of your.

  314. Quitting smoking is going. To do that.

  315. Do you understand the? Power of the blood.

  316. I remember I did a wedding recently.

  317. I've been walking a long journey with a young man and he finally

  318. got married and we're having a bride just before the wedding.

  319. And I was chatting to his father, and I heard a story I'd

  320. never heard. Before because.

  321. At one stage, he'd gotten extremely depressed.

  322. And he was. Rather suicide.

  323. The dad. Said to me night after night I

  324. would stand at my the foot of my son's bed while he slept and

  325. just asked. The blood of.

  326. Jesus to be upon him. To keep the Destroyer.

  327. At Bay you remember Rory preaching last year on Easter

  328. application of the blood. I remember him saying how the

  329. cross, the crown of thorns, was laid on Jesus head and as that

  330. blood began to run, covered his mind.

  331. We have access and we were. Able to apply.

  332. The blood to our mind, his eyes, ears and lips and all the way

  333. down to his. Privates.

  334. The bad is the power of the blood.

  335. And So what I've started doing, I cannot but enter a day.

  336. Covered by the blood. Of the Lamb I find myself over

  337. and over. I'm like, Lord, this mind of

  338. mine. Is so full of insecurities.

  339. Is so full of Mondays and so trying to figure.

  340. Would you ask for the blood? Of the lamb to be over my mind

  341. and these. These ears.

  342. These. Ears that seem to hear the lies

  343. of the enemy. Would you cover it with the

  344. blood? These eyes ADHD send me anything

  345. that moves with legs. Lord the.

  346. Blood of the. Lamb over my eyes and this mouth

  347. that I can. Tear you to shreds.

  348. Because my wit and my sharp cynical.

  349. Dark. Language, the blood and this.

  350. Heart this, Heart that. Lungs and lusts for and crave.

  351. For oh, the blood. And these hands, everything that

  352. touched. These feet everywhere they go,

  353. Oh. Jesus, I need.

  354. The blood I dare. Not trust in this frame.

  355. This good works this effort or as Paul says why on?

  356. Earth would you trust in the blade when you have the blood?

  357. Do you know the power of the? Blood.

  358. Oh, this? Is one of my favourites.

  359. I know I'm properly geeking out, but I've got some time, so we're

  360. going to jump straight into this is Exodus 24.

  361. Then the Lord said to Moses, Come up to the Lord you, and

  362. Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and 70 of the elders of Israel.

  363. You are to worship where? At a.

  364. Distance but Moses. Alone is to approach the Lord.

  365. The others must not come near, and the people may not come up

  366. with him. Moses then wrote down everything

  367. the Lord had said. He got up early the next morning

  368. and built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up 12

  369. stone pillars representing the 12 tribes of Israel.

  370. Then he sends young Israelite men, and they offered burnt

  371. offerings and sacrificed young bulls as fellowship offerings to

  372. the Lord. Moses took half of the blood.

  373. Put it in bowls and the other half he splashed against the

  374. altar. Verse 19 when Moses had

  375. proclaimed every command of the. Lord to all the people he took

  376. the blood of the calves together with water.

  377. Scarlet wool and branches of hyssop and sprinkled the scroll

  378. and all the people. And he said, this is the blood

  379. of the covenant which God has commanded.

  380. You to keep. See this?

  381. God hasn't changed his mind. About the blood.

  382. So listen, I'm going to give you the.

  383. Law, but before you. Even open it, I'm going to cover

  384. it with the blood, I'm going to tell.

  385. You how to sacrifice but. Before you even do one, I'm

  386. going to cover. It with the blood.

  387. And I'm going to. Call you to obey.

  388. And to apply the. Word but before you do it.

  389. I'm going to even put. The blood.

  390. On you, on your ears and your eyes, and your heart has to be

  391. under the nothing. But the blood?

  392. But then the crazy thing. This is Exodus 24.

  393. When you go to Exodus 25, things change.

  394. See, because up until now Moses has been up and down the

  395. mountain, up and down the mountain, everyone else from

  396. afar. And then it says in.

  397. In Exodus 25, the Lord said to. Moses, tell the Israelites.

  398. To bring me an offering, you're to receive the offering from me,

  399. from everyone whose heart prompts them to give in verse 8

  400. and have them make a sanctuary for me and I.

  401. Will dwell. Among them.

  402. Why could God? Dwell among them.

  403. Because of the. Blood.

  404. Up until then, they hadn't been sprinkled with the blood.

  405. Once it happens, no longer up and down the mountain.

  406. Now your heavenly Father comes down the mountain.

  407. To be with you, do you know? The blood of the Lamb.

  408. That draws the. Presence of God in your life.

  409. We're always. Talking about the holy.

  410. Spirit. Right after this, the Tabernacle

  411. gets built and it's blood from start to finish.

  412. But you know where the Shekinah glory is?

  413. The very presence of God. It's in the.

  414. Holy of Holies. Above the mercy seat.

  415. You know what's there? It's because.

  416. That is where the blood is. Sprinkled every year.

  417. The Holy, the High Priest. Goes in once a.

  418. Year puts blood. On the Mercy seat and our

  419. Heavenly Father just can't seem to help himself.

  420. But he's attracted to the blood. Of the Lamb.

  421. Where the blood is. That's where the presence is.

  422. Do you know the? Power of the blood.

  423. Or he's still banking on the blade, trying really, really

  424. hard. Just do more you can do better

  425. on. Invite you to abandon yourself

  426. to the blood of the lamb. And that's just the Old

  427. Testament. That's just shadow.

  428. The ghost of a shadow of a whisper.

  429. Of what is about to come. We haven't even gotten into the

  434. Takes away the sin of the world right in Page one, the.

  435. Lamb of God. Who takes away the sins?

  436. Of the world. And I don't know if you had this

  437. experience, you know, when you went to buy that new car and

  438. it's like no one in Pretoria is a Fortuner.

  439. You know, I'm going to really going to have a status now in

  440. the cities streets and then you drive down and there's just

  441. Fortuners. Absolutely everything.

  442. Well, OK, maybe a bad example, because they really are.

  443. Yeah, you buy that Fiat. You know, and all of a sudden

  444. you see it everywhere. It's the same with the blood.

  445. So once I saw it once, I can't, I can't turn a page without

  446. seeing the blood. I can't have a conversation

  447. without hearing about. The blood.

  448. Reading between the lines. It's like the.

  473. up a little bit. I mean, you know, you blow it.

  474. First thing you do is you avoid Christians and church and life

  476. there, you know, don't come near me.

  477. You're not praying, You're not asking for forgiveness because

  490. a loser. I've blown it again.

  491. You don't contribute, you don't look anyone in the eyes.

  492. And then when you come to church, you sit.

  493. Right at the very back house that everybody could have you

  494. here. Slowly but surely you work your

  495. way down and then think, OK, he's not going to blip me now I

  496. can maybe carry on the. Bible says you're justified just

  497. as if. I'd not looked, not done, not

  498. listened, Not said not. Justified by the blood.

  568. got this problem, can't stop smoking marijuana, he said.

  569. The guy said nothing. He just listened.

  570. And when I dropped him off, he sort of stuck his head and said,

  571. hey man, I really believe today you're not going to smoke.

  572. He said you won't. Believe it, I didn't smoke that
