  1. So let me read your little verse of Scripture before we put

  2. anything up on the board. Read your little verse of

  3. Scripture. We are learning how to pray.

  4. None of us have arrived. None of us are.

  5. The Bible says don't Babble. Like men on street corners that

  6. you look like you, super spiritual.

  7. I don't think any of us have arrived at the point where we

  8. can say we are heavenly prayers. None of us are there.

  9. None of us have. Actually, none of us have

  10. arrived. There, but I'll tell.

  11. You this the power of prayer changes the world and the secret

  12. of the Christian life is pray. And the problem is that the

  13. majority of us are not regular prayers.

  14. We we, we get on with our life and we are not utilizing this

  15. great privilege called pray. This is what it says in, in, in

  16. Revelation 8. You don't have to turn there.

  17. I'll just read it to you. It says when he opened the 7th

  18. seal there was. Silence in heaven for about half

  19. an hour and I saw the seven angels who stand before God and

  20. to them were given 7 trumpets another.

  21. Angel, who had a golden censor, came and stood.

  22. At the altar. He was given.

  23. Much incense to offer with the prayers of all the Saints.

  24. On the golden altar before the throne, the smoke of the

  25. incense. It's the thing that those.

  26. Bishops carry down the that, that, that, that, that, that

  27. censor with the, with the. Smoke.

  28. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the

  29. Saints, went up before God. From the angel's hand you

  30. imagine that this rich smell with the prayers of all the

  31. Saints. Then the Angel took the sensor

  32. filled. With fire from the altar and he.

  33. Hold it on the earth. And they came, peals of Thunder,

  34. rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

  35. Prayers are movers and shakers. When we pray, things change.

  36. Amen. Things change.

  37. This, friends. This.

  38. Is a 1983 Honda XR200R speedometer made?

  39. By the Nippon Business in. Japan and I have a 1983 Honda

  40. XR200R which I spent 300 hours paying.

  41. My dad off he bought. It for 3000, Rand in 1983 and I

  42. had to work for 300 hours, 10 Rand an hour as a petrol station

  43. attendant in order and so this bike is in absolutely pristine

  44. condition and I had it. Fixed up and get.

  45. All the paint. And when they fixed it up.

  46. This thing was stolen because this thing you can't find and so

  47. for. Five years I've gone to every

  48. website on motorbikes all over the world to try and find.

  49. This thing. I've prayed, I've cried, I have

  50. tried to bribe, I have almost stolen, I have looked at and the

  51. only thing that stops you is I know God will catch me, but I've

  52. seen. Them and think about just.

  53. Whipped it like that. It did.

  54. Nobody would even know and I've got a hold.

  55. Of companies and I've. Written to Honda and Japan and

  56. they say we don't. Supply parts that are 40 years

  57. old. And so I thought, well.

  58. The only thing I can do is I can pray.

  59. To our Father who. Art in heaven and I pray.

  60. Somewhere he's going to. Send down a peal of Thunder and

  61. something's going to shake and whoever's got.

  62. This stuck in the. Garage, It's going to come

  63. unshaken. It's going to come to me.

  64. But there was nothing. And so I.

  65. Prayed and prayed and prayed and said God.

  66. Are you deaf? We are.

  67. You, Lord God, I need. This Lord, I need it.

  68. This is just a trivial, useless piece of equipment that deals

  69. with my unusual nature that if it doesn't, I'd rather give my

  70. bike away than drive it without a speedometer.

  71. I lost the pen now that I'm praying for that one as well.

  72. I have a whole. Collection.

  73. They're cheap, they're only ¥250, but I've got a whole

  74. collection. I've collected them over 20

  75. years but the green ones gone and they stop making it I feel.

  76. Like giving the whole collection.

  77. Away. 20 years of. Collection because every time I.

  78. Look at them. I think it doesn't look right,

  79. but this morning I. Took my collection, I said O

  80. our. Father who art in heaven.

  81. Hallowed be your name for just stupid trivial things like pens.

  82. And then I was driving to court to go and be a witness.

  83. And I know some of you know this story, but I was driving to

  84. court along Lynwood Road and along Lynwood Rd. there's

  85. another Rd. Called Dire.

  86. Road not named after me. I wish it was, but every time I

  87. go there I'm reminded there was somebody of my forefathers and

  88. every time I go past Dire Rd. I think.

  89. I'm driving past Dire Rd. And then just passed Dire Rd.

  90. I see an antique shop and I feel God say inside that antique shop

  91. is this thing I've never heard. God speak to I wish.

  92. He would. I feel like I no, I don't

  93. deserve it. I'm only joking as I went to

  94. court for seven hours and we witnesses and all those things.

  95. I don't worry. I wasn't on the dock.

  96. I was the the advocate told me I wasn't dressed properly.

  97. And you know me and my advocates, it's an ongoing

  98. journey and God bless you. I don't know how you can, but

  99. God bless you anyway. And so we.

  100. We were driving, I was. Driving back and I went past

  101. Linwood Rd. and Dyer. I thought I remember that so so

  102. I did AU turn and and I went into the shop and I said hi, my

  103. name is Rory. Said hello Rory, I'm Chris.

  104. I said Chris, what do you do? He said I'm a property developer

  105. and we got talking about property and he loves antiques.

  106. I said Chris, the strangest thing happened.

  107. I drove past your shop. I've got a 1983 200, he said.

  108. Yo, the one with the. Blue seat and the yellow side

  109. go. I said, yo, you remember that

  110. 182, it was black and white and then 84 they put the twin

  111. carbon, he said. When they put the twin carbon

  112. they completely messed it up. I said yo they're not the same.

  113. I said Chris I need this but he said hey Rory, those things are

  114. like hens teeth. I said but Chris can you help

  115. me? He said I'll try.

  116. And the week lady phoned me said, hey, I found one for you,

  117. but it's broken. I think, oh, I'd rather have a

  118. broken one there than nothing. But but, but our Father who art

  119. in heaven, I mean, surely God, you're not going to give me a

  120. broken speeder. And then when I went to

  121. Australia, begin here, he phoned me.

  122. He said, hey Roy, you won't believe it.

  123. I found one. That's an absolutely perfect

  124. working condition. You see, friends, when we pray,

  125. we're trying to ask God to. Come by his power.

  126. Into the Russian Ukrainian war. And we can also ask him trivial

  127. things like speedometers and pens and the restoration of your

  128. marriage and your children to come back to God and for God to

  129. give you a scripture that you can find the dignity of

  130. employment. And for God to supernaturally

  131. intersect your path with somebody that can give you

  132. advice and help you out. And tell a man in Bedford View

  133. to come to a church in Pretoria, E because there's a black girl

  134. who didn't have a dad who could help her up in any possible way

  135. and have access to some kind of finance so that the little girl

  136. that she's given birth to can travel in a safeguard.

  137. It's the same God that can do this, can do that.

  138. And as Nico will preach as he as we shared lunch together on

  139. Friday, he doesn't tell a story without relating it to a

  140. scripture and one of the scriptures.

  141. I've never forgotten, Nico, when you were lying in your bed

  142. overseas and your business was under deep pressure and COVID

  143. had affected every single part of your business and you're

  144. reading Psalm 107, it says we were at our wit's.

  145. End. Remember, you taught me we were

  146. at our wit's end. But we cried out to God and he

  147. answered, I want to tell you, friends, that the God of heaven,

  148. when you see. Heaven in the.

  149. Bible. It's not some far off distance

  150. place. Heaven is actually all around us

  151. and God is just waiting by his hand to reach into us.

  152. And so we live with this incredible mystery.

  153. Between the sovereignty of God and the prayers of men, they

  154. will. God is sovereign.

  155. Everything will happen. But God somehow uses our

  156. prayers. And so I want to.

  157. Invite you on. Tuesday night to come and join

  158. us to learn how to pray, to learn how to pray.

  159. Amen. So let's turn to Matthew chapter

    Matthew 6 chapter mention

  160. 6. I won't preach long.

  161. I just want you to catch the heart of it.

  162. This then is how you should pray Matthew 6 verse.

  163. Now this then is how you should. Pray.

  164. And and you know, the longer you serve God.

  165. The harder it is to. Admit that you don't have a

  166. prayer life. It's like the longer you've

  167. served God, the harder it is to admit that you don't know your

  168. way around the Bible. This is not some kind of hotshot

  169. spiritual centre. This is just a family having a

  170. go at serving God, making mistakes, falling.

  171. You know when my kids. Fell off when they were learning

  172. to walk. I didn't smash their faces in, I

  173. didn't beat them up and say don't fall down.

  174. I just picked them up and I dusted them off and I loved them

  175. until they stopped crying and I said have another go.

  176. They would walk and stumble and fall and I'd pick them up again

  177. and I'd have another go and, and then they started running.

  178. And then, and then I've got this whole range of children from 27

  179. to 16 and, and what I expect of my 27 year old son, I don't

  180. expect of my 16 year old son because they're on different

  181. journeys. They've got different levels of

  182. maturity and inside of this auditorium we've got all sorts

  183. of different levels of maturity. You think, well, there must be a

  184. standard. No, there's not a standard.

  185. When he taught them to pray, he said this is the standard.

  186. Our Father say our Father, so. So that takes away all sovereign

  187. God, Lord Almighty. Holy.

  188. God, all of those things are beautiful and we can address God

  189. with all those things, but when he taught us to pray, He bought

  190. it down to a relational level where you and I act like sons

  191. and daughters of a really good God.

  192. The problem with that, as we did on Tuesday, when you ask people

  193. about their dad, some of them said my hero, a legend,

  194. unbelievable, generous, kind, loving, strong, but others said

  195. alcoholic, disappointing, absent and so, so we.

  196. Come to. Pray.

  197. And we've got all these earthly perspectives of our own fathers.

  198. That's why I've got Lawrence up here, because Lawrence is this.

  199. Picture of this really rugged, strong, successful.

  200. Man. But actually, when he walked

  201. down the aisle, there was this. Tenderness inside of him.

  202. And the words that came out of mouth were this beauty.

  203. And I realized the accessibility that that beautiful girl had

  204. with her dad was what we tried to convey as we learn how to

  205. pray together and so God. Has to bypass.

  206. Our earthly understanding of Father in order that we can get

  207. and so God sends his son Jesus and the Bible says.

  208. If you have seen me. You have seen the Father.

  209. So he comes and says here's here's what it looks like.

  210. I don't, I don't know what it looked like for you, but here's

  211. what it looks like on earth. If you've seen Jesus, you've

  212. seen the Father, and then the Son goes back to the Father and

  213. he says actually to make this thing real.

  214. I'm going to pour my Holy Spirit.

  215. Into your heart and. By the Spirit.

  216. Of God, you're going to cry, ABBA Father.

  217. So actually we can. Bypass all the earthly.

  218. Stuff we can. Bypass it all.

  219. How are we going to do it, Rory? Well, we're going to do it like

  220. this, Damien. Is going to wait on God because

  221. Damien chooses who leads the meetings so.

  222. Damien's going to wait. On God and he's going to pray

  223. and he's going to say our. Father who art in heaven.

  224. Hallowed be your name on Sunday. Father God, we have to.

  225. Speak and represent. You to the group of.

  226. People that are going. To come from all over the

  227. country. So, Father, who do you?

  228. Think should lead the meeting on Sunday and then Damien sees when

  229. SMS he. Says hey raw.

  230. I was thinking about Maggie leading the meeting.

  231. What do you think? I said, hey, it's not my

  232. responsibility. That's your responsibility,

  233. Damien. He said.

  234. I think. Maggie should lead the meeting

  235. and then he sends an SMS. Hey Maggie, do you think you

  236. should lead the meeting? So I just got to chat to Naya.

  237. Because we've got a baby. That we share and somebody.

  238. Has to babysit and gets back and says.

  239. Yes, actually, Naya's going to look after you to malign and

  240. I'll lead the meeting. Thank you so much.

  241. And then and then God has to speak through praise our Father

  242. art in heaven to a guy called Gideon.

  243. Whose wife Karine used to live in Durban and our church and

  244. think. I wonder where we should go on

  245. Father's Day. So there's a guy called Rory who

  246. actually he loves the. Father, heart of God, so let's

  247. go there on Father's Day. And God starts to.

  248. Put the pieces together because. Somehow he needs a car to go

  249. from the CEO. Of.

  250. A car company. To one of his daughters.

  251. And God starts to. Put the whole thing together

  252. through Damien. Who's asking God who should?

  253. Lead the meeting. And so who's the hearer is it?

  254. The guy who came from Bedford View.

  255. Is it there's a? Girl who's leading the meeting?

  256. Or is it just some guy who just happens to get onto?

  257. His knees and instead. Of going through a roster.

  258. System thinks, I wonder. By God's grace, you should leave

  259. the meeting today. And you've got to.

  260. Know that in every supernatural. If every supernatural.

  261. Crossing of the. T and dotting of the.

  262. I behind. That is the hand of God who is

  263. trying to break. Into our world, and heaven is

  264. not. Far away.

  265. It's not some unreachable place. It's close by.

  266. It's close by. Amen.

  267. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

  268. This, this is not a prayer. We just our Father art in

  269. heaven, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come.

  270. You will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

  271. Give us today Our Daily Bread and forgive us our sins as we

  272. forgive those who sin against us and deliver us from evil.

  273. It's not a formula that you go through in 3 minutes.

  274. It is a model that we can spend the next 30 years of our lives

  275. trying to understand the depths and diversity of what God is

  276. trying to teach us. And, and it says our Father, I

  277. don't want to pray it alone. I want to pray it with people

  278. who are prepared to give up their Tuesday nights and come

  279. and sit with me. When I sat here on Tuesday

  280. night. There was a man who left the

  281. church 20 years ago, 20 years ago he left the church and

  282. because of a wedding that we did in this church, because of a

  283. family that don't believe in Christmas.

  284. Because we had a. Christmas tree.

  285. A man came to see me and said, I don't believe in Christmas tree.

  286. I said I don't care what you believe in.

  287. If you date one of our girls, you come here, China, I'll stick

  288. the tree up your nostrils. Do you really?

  289. Think I am going to fight about a Christmas tree?

  290. I couldn't give a hoot about a Christmas tree, seriously.

  291. But because of that, because of that Christmas tree, a boy, a

  292. young man, decided to come here to honor his fiance and here he

  293. learnt about God and at his wedding day, one of the guests

  294. said. If that's how you.

  295. Preach, then I'll come to church, he said.

  296. But I'm only going to come to your church once, so that's good

  297. enough for God. When he came once, he said I'll

  298. come a second time, and then he said I might come back a third

  299. time. I said really?

  300. And on our staff, we've got a girl who's been crying out to

  301. God to get married. It's one of the desires of their

  302. heart. Every single.

  303. Day of my life I pray for every one of our staff members by name

  304. I get on my knees and I'll say our Father who art in heaven

  305. hallowed be your name I've. Prayed for that girl for.

  306. Years to meet a man and the dad that I met at a wedding who

  307. happened to come to church, bought his son.

  308. And when his son came to church, he saw the girl and the girl is

  309. now his girlfriend. And when he came to me, instead

  310. of some earthly thing like saying hey, I'm watching you

  311. because it's one of our girls, I started to weep.

  312. I said you are an answer to pray.

  313. But the man who's not come for the 5th or the 6th.

  314. Time on. Tuesday was sitting about there

  315. where that Lady is with the green jersey.

  316. He was sitting on the carpet with his hands like this on the

  317. floor for an hour as we prayed. Our Father, let's say it, our

  318. Father, our Father who art in heaven, who art in heaven,

  319. hallowed be your name. And we have got no idea when

  320. those prayers go to God with the smoke of the sensor.

  321. When those prayers go to God and he starts slowing down, Thunder

  322. and lightning and pills and earthquakes and rumblings and

  323. shakings, we've got no idea what God is doing.

  324. I want to tell you instead of coming to church with lacquer

  325. clothes, we should come with crash helmets and seatbelts.

  326. Thinking when we start praying, it's like TNT gets released

  327. inside of this place and the power of God becomes absolutely

  328. uncontrollable. And we will start to see

  329. miracles taking place that we've never even dreamt of.

  330. If you can put the quote up, I read this quote, it says the

  331. Lord. 'S prayer covers the world of

  332. everyday trifles. Seriously, God.

  333. Seriously, Rory, are you going to spend time praying?

  334. For a jolly speedometer of a 1983 motorbike, yes I am.

  335. Why? Because God is in the detail of

  336. my life and He knows. Some of you are ADD and some of

  337. you are He knows. The Lord's Prayer covers the

  338. world of everyday trifles and universal history, the world

  339. with its hours. Of joy and bottomless anguish.

  340. The world of citizens and soldiers.

  341. The world of monotonous routine. My boss again and sudden.

  342. Terrible catastrophe. The world of carefree children

  343. and the problems that can shatter grown men, all contained

  344. in this incredible thing called the Lord's Prayer.

  345. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come,

  346. your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

  347. Give. Us today, Our Daily Bread.

  348. Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors and

  349. lead us not. Into temptation.

  350. But deliver us from the evil one, for instance.

  351. You just have to. All I'm asking over this next

  352. month is to just read it and read it.

  353. Not like our father Aknehal. Just read it.

  354. And what is God? He's he's trying to teach us

  355. about himself. He wants us to know what he's

  356. like. Then he wants us to know.

  357. What the Kingdom looks like and what pleases him.

  358. His will, not my will. His will not my will.

  359. His will, not my will. We see it with Jesus the whole

  360. way through His. Life We see Jesus at 12 years

  361. old, he's in the he's in the temple and his mum and dad leave

  362. and they come back and they angry and say hey.

  363. You've caused enormous stress because we left and we left you

  364. behind and it's taken us two days to find you.

  365. Where are you? He says I'm busy with my

  366. father's will, I'm busy with my father's business.

  367. And then the disciples go and get food.

  368. And in John chapter four, they go and get food and and they

  369. come back and they say you must eat because you haven't.

  370. Eaten, he said. I have.

  371. Food, you know, not of my food is to do the will of the Father

  372. and we and we realized that actually the whole thing that

  373. that that that shaped Jesus life was the.

  374. Will of the Father. And he's busy preaching and his.

  375. Mother and brothers are outside and they come and say your

  376. mother and your brothers because they want to go and rescue him

  377. from doing his stuff and. He says your mother.

  378. And brothers. Are outside, he says.

  379. These are my mother and brothers, the ones who do the

  380. will of the father. And then we see this amazing

  381. wrestle that Jesus has in the Garden of Gethsemane, where he's

  382. crying. Out and he's sweating blood.

  383. And I feel like I'm one of those guys in the Garden of Gethsemane

  384. that every time Jesus goes to pray, I just fall asleep.

  385. That's what I feel like. Sometimes that Jesus.

  386. Comes back and they fast asleep and he's in this unbelievable

  387. wrestle between his will and his father's will.

  388. He says, Father, please, please Father, take this will from me.

  389. Please take this cup from me. I can't go through this thing,

  390. Lord God, because all evil, all sin has come and sacrificed the

  391. obedience to God's will and we all live self-centered lives

  392. that benefit ourselves alone. And Jesus in this unbelievable

  393. tug and says, Father, please take this cup.

  394. From me but not my will be done your will and it's a.

  395. Mess if he wins back. The will of God for you and I so

  396. that when we wait upon him, Nico's bought these unbelievable

  397. properties all over the country, but one of them he bought in

  398. Santon. He said it was a good deal, but

  399. it wasn't a God deal. It was a good deal, but it

  400. wasn't a God deal. And we learn as we pray and we

  401. wrestle and we say with people and we, we learn what the will

  402. of God looks like and then we can ask him some questions.

  403. But Lord God, I need, I need resource for this.

  404. I need bread not, not for 25 years, just for one day, 24

  405. hours. I learn how to trust God.

  406. And some of us need more bread than others and some of us need

  407. less bread than others. But we but we learn how to tap

  408. into the provision of God. Give me today my daily bread and

  409. and forgive our sins. We learn.

  410. We learn about grace because I want to tell you it doesn't

  411. matter who you are. And it's one of the things we

  412. forget when we don't pray is that is that people must give me

  413. grace, but I mustn't give them grace back.

  414. No friends, I'm a Sinner that needs forgiveness.

  415. I'm not talking about justification.

  416. I don't have to keep if I don't forget yourselves.

  417. It's not my my salvation at stake.

  418. It's my daily walk with people. It's my attitude and I and I tap

  419. into grace as I pray and lead me not into temptation, but deliver

  420. me from the evil one. For instance, I left hearted,

  421. beers put down. We got in our car.

  422. I'm studying the Lord's Prayer, studying the Lord's Prayer.

  423. We we got in the car, my wife and I, about 8:45 on Friday

  424. evening. I said, God, we know if you go

  425. that way from Hardy Best, but damn, that road is not safe

  426. because it goes through an area and it says hijackings.

  427. And everybody said to me, now you turn right, you turn left,

  428. you go towards. Brits.

  429. You get on the 511 and the 511 takes you onto the N 4 and I

  430. said, Heavenly Father, please protect us from the evil 1.

  431. It's very dark for the 511 turns onto the N4 and when we got on

  432. the N4 about 200 meters down the N4 there was there was lots

  433. flashing and we saw a security van do AU turn and dust

  434. everything dust coming back to the and we got home and my wife

  435. turned on her traffic thing and it says hijacking sparking

  436. reported on the R 511 and the N four at 9 O clock.

  437. We're living in a tough country. There are two options you can

  438. pack up and go to Perth or wherever you want to go or we

  439. can tap into the Lord's Prayer because most of us can't leave

  440. here. We don't have an option and so

  441. we have to ask God. He says my prayer is not that

  442. you take them out of the world. My prayer is that you protect

  443. them from the from the evil 1. So put the put the other display

  444. up the next one. This thing is how you should.

  445. Pray. Let's say together our Father in

  446. heaven, hallowed be. Let's emphasize whatever it's

  447. emphasized, let's emphasize it. So let's read it together, one

  448. shot. Our Father in heaven, hallowed

  449. be your name, your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it

  450. is in heaven. Give us today Our Daily Bread.

  451. Forgive us US our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors

  452. and lead us not into temptation, but deliver.

  453. The first thing that prayer does is it absolutely reorientates

  454. our lives where yours becomes more important than us and most

  455. people are US focused. Our Father art in heaven.

  456. I need a job. Our Father in art in heaven.

  457. Fix my marriage. Our Father and art in heaven.

  458. My kids are on. No, just you need to reorientate

  459. your life. We are not here to exist for

  460. ourselves. We're here to honour God.

  461. We're here to honour God. Amen.

  462. So let's say it again. Our Father who art in heaven

  463. hallowed be your name. You've got to learn about the

  464. name of God. Friends when I had a brain

  465. operation always say this, at least somebody can go to court

  466. and say they've seen it. But I remember, I remember going

  467. to Durban. I remember going to Durban and

  468. sitting with a who are the guys who do brain surgery?

  469. I know. I'm just asking you the thing

  470. of, you know, the brain doctor, I, I went to this brain doctor,

  471. neurosurgeon and I sat in his office.

  472. When I sat there, it just didn't feel right.

  473. This didn't feel right. And So what I did is I just

  474. asked a whole lot of people. They say there's a guy in

  475. Merrittsburg who's got a good name.

  476. He's got a good name. They're doctors in this building

  477. today. You can't get into them for two

  478. or three months because they've got good, they've got good

  479. reputations, they've got good what they're studying and what

  480. they do and over a course of they've developed good names.

  481. It happened last week as a doctor, I saw him walking just

  482. now operates. I won't tell you what hospital

  483. he operates in, but last week a young man walked onto this

  484. property whose parents were in the church for many, many, many

  485. years and he was completely disorientated.

  486. No money, no income, no it just, he was disorientated.

  487. And we felt we needed to orientate him with an amount of

  488. money just so that he could just settle himself.

  489. So we gave him the gift within a couple of hours.

  490. This doctor SMS was on Saturday last week, Saturday afternoon.

  491. Sunday morning we get a message to say I've put money into the

  492. three CR bank account. I'm going into an operation now

  493. because I need to operate. But actually I'm going to pay

  494. for the coffees for the next two Sundays. 1500 cappuccinos.

  495. What? What's is God's will for him to

  496. be a pastor? No, God's will for him to be a

  497. doctor. But God wants access to his

  498. money so that he can extend the Kingdom of God in a coffee shop

  499. so that people who don't know how the whole thing works will

  500. arrive there when they think, oh, who are you, God?

  501. And Humber says there's a free coffee.

  502. Well, I don't know where Dave is.

  503. Where's Dave Salias? Where you, Dave?

  504. You normally sit here. You're sitting there.

  505. You've moved. We don't do that in three CI.

  506. You are in Dave's chair, Lawrence.

  507. He's also a Big Oak. Simon, Dave's brother, is a

  508. scientist and lecturer at Oxford University in England or

  509. Cambridge University or one of the universities in England.

  510. And he says this stuff here with church stuff is a lot of

  511. gobbledygook. So I just bought him to church

  512. anyway and he thought, I'm going to go and hang around with 2500

  513. gobbledygook guys. And he was sitting there and I

  514. was preaching on the Father heart of God and I said you,

  515. Sir, you Sir, you Sir don't know about my Father in heaven.

  516. And because his father on earth was dodgy, he started to weep.

  517. And all his scientific brain got completely because our Father

  518. who art in heaven, you see, he's got a name.

  519. And the reason I never had my operation in Durban and I went

  520. to Merrittsburg is because that doctor had a name.

  521. His name was Errol Ackerman. When before I went into the

  522. hospital, his nurse came to see me.

  523. He said Mr. Dyer, I was 21 years old, about to have my brain

  524. opened up. He said, Mr. Dyer, can I tell

  525. you about Doctor Errol Ackerman's hands?

  526. I said, yes, please, ma'am. She said, I've been working with

  527. him for 20 years. She said his hands, he never

  528. used to shake your hand in case he hurt it, in case some came in

  529. and and squeezed it too hard. And he had an incredible

  530. business. I came from Harry Smith.

  531. He had this incredible name amongst all the Harry Smith

  532. people. And I remember one of my friends

  533. went in for a back operation. He went in and he said Doctor

  534. Ackerman, my back. He said the problem is not your

  535. back, so your problem is your front.

  536. He said fix your front up, your back will sort itself out.

  537. I don't need to operate. Says your back can't carry that

  538. big, heavy thing in the front. And the nurse said to me said,

  539. you know, Mr. Dyer, one of the highlights of my life, I said,

  540. what man? She said there was a time when

  541. we were operating deep inside of somebody's brain and Doctor

  542. Ackerman didn't know what to do. And he put down his utensils and

  543. he opened his hands, the hands that he wouldn't shake anybody's

  544. hands with. And he said, Heavenly Father,

  545. guide me, guide me. You see, this prayer, friends,

  546. is relational. This prayer is spiritual.

  547. This prayer guides, this prayer provides this prayer looks

  548. after. And she said, I want to tell

  549. you, you're about to go into the safest hands that you could ever

  550. go into. Why?

  551. Because he had a good name. The anaesthetist was his wife,

  552. Doctor Mustard. And one day I was standing at

  553. the front of the tent. Yeah.

  554. And I met a man. He just walked in.

  555. I said, how you serve? My name is Rory.

  556. He said, hi, Rory. I'm.

  557. I said, what do you do, Sir? He said what?

  558. What do you mean what I do? I said, what do you do for a

  559. living? He said I'm an anaesthetist.

  560. I said I actually had an anaesthetist once.

  561. Her name was Doctor Mustard. He said yes, that's my sister.

  562. You see, friends, somewhere between the choice of doctors

  563. and the choice of Sundays and where you go to church and, and,

  564. and the shops that you have coffee at is this father who's

  565. putting it all together. So whether you're going to court

  566. or bringing your brother from England, who's the father is

  567. busy putting this whole thing together.

  568. He just needs us to put a bit of time aside to pray.

  569. It's hard to pray. We always want to fall asleep.

  570. We're always busy. We're tired at the end of the

  571. day, but we're calling the church to pray.

  572. Our Father who art in heaven, will you break into the

  573. situations of the people on the earth?

  574. Will you give me, Lord God, that green pen?

  575. And also, would you get people saved on Sunday?

  576. And those who are on drugs, would you set them free?

  577. Mighty God, would you take my prayers and would you throw down

  578. the sensor that? Causes an earthquake and a.

  579. Shattering Lord God and. Breaks powers over people.

  580. Because your will, when I look at it, Lord God, is to create

  581. and to multiply and to bless. Lord God, that's what you said

  582. to Abraham. I will bless you and you'll be a

  583. blessing. And when I pray to you, God,

  584. will you give me words that I can be a blessing to people,

  585. Lord God? And the whole book of.

  586. Exodus, Lord God, is about liberty.

  587. Let my people go so that they might worship me.

  588. Lord God, that when people sit under our ministry and under our

  589. prayer, you will break shackles off them.

  590. He would remove the past, He would break the abuse.

  591. That was the things that bind them.

  592. Lord God, that's your will is to set people free that they don't

  593. come from the power of sin into the church and get completely

  594. chained up by religious systems. And the man who was sitting in

  595. the church on Sunday, there on Tuesday there with his hands

  596. open, he was so scared to come here because he thought in a big

  597. church there are systems. Friends, when Jesus set us free,

  598. he didn't just set us free from sin.

  599. He set us free from systems, even the expectations.

  600. Of a pastor. Who's on a process of holiness

  601. himself. My words are not meant to bind

  602. you up. My words are meant to liberate

  603. you. That is the.

  604. Prayer that we pray. Amen.

  605. Amen. Let's say it together.

  606. Our Father, our Father to art in heaven, to art in heaven.

  607. Hallowed be your name. Hallowed be your name.

  608. Teach us about yourself. God show us what you like.

  609. Melanie's my wife's mum, my wife's flatmate.

  610. Her mum went to an operation in Durban in the same day that I

  611. went into an operation in Peter Merrittsford.

  612. And I know accidents happen, but the doctor that I was with, that

  613. I did not feel comfortable about, opened up the wrong side

  614. of Melanie's flatmate's mother's head.

  615. I had to sew it up, open the other side and remove the tumor.

  616. And I, by the grace of God, was with the Doctor Who had a good

  617. name. You go to advocates in this

  618. church because they've got a good name.

  619. You do business with financial advisors.

  620. Mine is there about 12 or 15 rows back.

  621. I can see him now. He's got glasses on and a blue

  622. shirt. He's sitting next to you.

  623. The reason, the reason I do business with him is because

  624. he's got a good name. He's got a good name.

  625. I want people to come to this church because we have a good

  626. name. We set people free.

  627. We preach the gospel. We talk about forgiveness.

  628. We teach people how to pray. I want to tell you about my

  629. Father who has a great name. Your dad might not have, but my

  630. father does. Can we say it again together?

  631. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name.
