  1. Thank you, Maggie. We're going to all give up our

  2. seats in the auditorium like Jesus would do at Easter for the

  3. people outside. No money.

  4. Joking. We're not going to.

  5. We're not going to do that. There are a whole lot of empty

  6. seats there. It's great to see you.

  7. Welcome. There's a man in his wife who

  8. who had Sun City this morning and they booked out.

  9. Time is 11. But they left.

  10. At 5:00 to be at church and so a whole lot of you wherever you're

  11. sitting out there, you would have made choices to be here

  12. it's. Great to have you.

  13. It's an amazing. Picture to see a young black

  14. lady lead a church in Pretoria East.

  15. On a day like. This this.

  16. Is my 37th. Easter as a Christian.

  17. And I don't know how many you've had.

  18. Maybe this is your first or. Second or maybe?

  19. This is your 50th but I realized this.

  20. I've died slowly. And So what?

  21. I thought I'd do is I would. Speed up your dying today I

  22. would just. I just would start by just like

  23. I thought, maybe just getting under your.

  24. Skin a little bit, maybe insulting you a bit.

  25. I thought I'd start with Afrikaners.

  26. I thought that's the majority of you.

  27. So I thought I'd just have a, we'd go back to the World War

  28. and we'll talk a little bit about all sorts of things.

  29. And then we're just, we'd really just get under your skin Worm

  30. and Kenny and, and the, the people who really be offended

  31. aren't there anywhere they instill by so, so they'll be

  32. watching online. But I thought I'd get under the

  33. Afrikaner skin. And then I thought I'd have a go

  34. at the black eyes. I, I would just get there a

  35. little bit to talk a bit about apartheid and then maybe your

  36. Indian Oaks can come into it. I'll see your parents are gone.

  37. So you've taken their chairs now.

  38. I can't check. That's how your Indian oaks

  39. work. OK, OK, now I can check that.

  40. So, so I thought we would offend the Afrikaners.

  41. Then we would have fed the black oaks and the Indian oaks, and

  42. now you're all very uncomfortable.

  43. We'll leave you Varta Cliff guys.

  44. I know because I know you're very sensitive.

  45. You know of these guys who will leave you alone.

  46. And I promise you we won't talk about Boardwalk and all those

  47. things and about Muy. Cliff and the horses.

  48. And all those things, we'll leave those alone.

  49. We're just going to get to the like the real insults, I

  50. thought. I thought today I'd leave the

  51. advocates alone. I feel like they've had a year

  52. of hard times. But I'll go after the what we

  53. call the medical specialist. They qualify for about 12 years

  54. and then they make it up in the charging for the rest of their

  55. lives. You know, they they're like

  56. study really hard and then they and then they make it up very

  57. quickly. And when you qualify as a

  58. surgeon, you're called Mr. But in Pretoria, E, they call you

  59. Sir. So, so I thought I'd just insult

  60. everybody and then we'll read the Bible.

  61. Is that is that cool? How you Afrikaans guys feeling

  62. taste Fuliana taste? Yeah, Moy.

  63. Welcome Betty Heiss and I see you have Mont Parker bring it

  64. for the Ester Kier and to say bar you get to unscruckle about

  65. it. It was.

  66. The ain't like Engels first Tony Modasa.

  67. Engelsa Oakley ain't like a Hui oaki marpa.

  68. Muskin, Muskin, Muskin cut. It's for Kiat.

  69. Khan Opera. Eddie Freydock.

  70. Muskin Muskin handed for Khan Khan Khan for here.

  71. OK, nice to see you. Let's This is the day of dying.

  72. And. I trust, like you, my family

  73. have been away this week, that you've searched the scriptures

  74. and look deep into your hearts. And I want to speak about the

  75. victory being in the V and I want to talk about absorbing.

  76. Insult. And and how we.

  77. Absorb insults. And I don't think we did really

  78. well. And so I'm 37 years into my

  79. Christian journey, and I realized there's still a lot of

  80. Rory left. But a day like this, we have to

  81. look at ourselves, and we have to follow our Savior.

  82. Into. Down into the depths of what he

  83. did so that we can somehow tap into resurrection.

  84. Life. And so I'm not really here to.

  85. Offend you? I'm here.

  86. To take you on the journey of Christ and to.

  87. See if we can. Find some victory in the steps

  88. of Jesus. So welcome.

  89. If you're from out of town, it's great to have you.

  90. If you're visiting your children, it's magnificent to

  91. have you. If you're online, if you're

  92. outside, we are live streaming. We're people watching all over

  93. the world. It's great to have you.

  94. So we're going to look to Matthew 27, which Maggie would

  95. not have known I was preparing. On and.

  96. We're going to look at verse 32. As they were going out, they met

  97. a man from Cyrene named Simon and they forced him to carry

  98. the. Cross.

  99. They came to a place called Golgotha, which means the place

  100. of the skull. There they offered Jesus wine to

  101. drink mixed with gall, but after.

  102. Tasting it, he. Refused to drink it.

  103. When they crucified him, they divided up his clothes.

  104. By casting lots. And sitting down, they kept

  105. watch over Him. There above his head, they

  106. placed the written charge against them.

  107. This is Jesus, the King of the Jews. 2 robbers were crucified

  108. with him, one on his right and one on his left.

  109. And those who passed by hurled insults.

  110. At him. Say that hurled insults.

  111. What I've done now is just make a few jokes about different.

  112. Cultures and different races. Just made a few jokes, but they

  113. hurled. Insults.

  114. Have you ever seen a guy hurling who's had too much?

  115. To drink like. Projectile vomit I grew.

  116. Up in the Rugby World. And so I've seen lots of

  117. projectile vomiting. When I look at this word, I

  118. think of this. Stuff that comes hurling out of

  119. their mouths, just hurling out of their mouths.

  120. Just this vomit. That comes hurling towards.

  121. Christ, if you watch the riots that happened a couple of years

  122. ago, you. Saw people hurling stuff.

  123. Rocks and fire bombs, you just saw them hurling.

  124. And you see Jesus on the cross and people just hurling stuff at

  125. him. And yet, the moment.

  126. That we get offended, we respond.

  127. He could not everything inside of him because of the human

  128. nature every time that we get attacked.

  129. The first thing we'll do? Is try and defend, that's what.

  130. Happens in our lives. The first time, if you get

  131. caught naked, you'll try and cover.

  132. Your nakedness. If you get caught on your guard.

  133. You will lift up your fists. Whatever.

  134. Whenever we get attacked, we go straight.

  135. Into defense mode and Jesus couldn't because he was pinned.

  136. And that's the message of Good Friday, is that he took.

  137. That full? Brunt, so that you and I can

  138. actually learn how to handle insult so that resurrection life

  139. will start to kick into our bodies.

  140. Amen. Those who passed by, those who

  141. passed by. They weren't even.

  142. Part of the they just passed by. It's like when you're doing your

  143. thing and somebody just passes by in the traffic.

  144. They're just passing by. I think I've never met you in

  145. your life. You don't know who I am.

  146. You don't know I've been married for 32 years.

  147. You don't know the way I've brought up my children.

  148. You don't know how I've loved Jesus.

  149. And you cut me off and you zapped.

  150. Me and you're just passing by, but you just think you've got

  151. the right to just freak me out and you've got the.

  152. Right on Good Friday to absorb it.

  153. And saying they hold the insults.

  154. Shaking their heads. Horrible.

  155. Thing, huh? Did a teacher shake your head at

  156. you? Horrible thing to have somebody

  157. shake their head at you. I don't think to have a parent

  158. shake their head at you. Somebody in authority shake

  159. their head at. You.

  160. I remember a girl who sinned. And I old say as young.

  161. Girl 14 year old girl walked into my office.

  162. She was absolutely petrified because she thought I was going

  163. to shake my head at her. And saying you are going to

  164. destroy this temple and build it in these three days.

  165. Save yourself, come down from the cross if you are the Son of

  166. God. In the same way, say, in the

  167. same way, insulting and shaking their heads.

  168. In the same way. In exactly the same way,

  169. the chief priests. Now these are not.

  170. Passersby. These are guys inside the church

  171. in the same way, the chief priests, the teachers of the law

  172. and the elders. Stephen and Rory and Clint.

  173. The guys who are meant to be leading us in the ways of God in

  174. the same way when we. Send in the.

  175. Same way they mocked. Him insiders.

  176. You were here last week, 2 1/2 thousand people.

  177. We stopped the service for one girl called.

  178. Amanda, she said. On the stage and you said what

  179. is that all? About whenever we do anything

  180. for God, we. Will be mocked.

  181. We will be insulted, people will not understand.

  182. And many of you grew up in churches with stained glass

  183. windows. And now you come and say, oh.

  184. Why did you paint it black? Why have you got?

  185. Screens now we like, we like. TV Why have?

  186. You got screens. You know what?

  187. My heart does for. 37 years I've responded and as I look at

  188. things, just absorb it. It's going to keep coming.

  189. From passers by. It's going to keep coming from

  190. insiders. It's going to come.

  191. From outsiders. It's going to come from thieves,

  192. it's going to come from religious people.

  193. It's going to come. Friends this day.

  194. We learn how to die. We learn how to stay pinned to

  195. the cross instead of reacting out of our flesh, because if it

  196. happened to Christ, it's going to happen to us.

  197. How are we doing? He saved others, I said, but he

  198. can't save himself. He's the king of Israel.

  199. Let him come down now from the cross and we'll believe in him.

  200. He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he

  201. wants. For he said, I am the Son of God

  202. in the same way. In the same way what?

  203. Ah, you Afrikaans in the same way, in the same way, insulting

  204. and shaking their heads in the same way, the robbers who were

  205. crucified with them also heaped, say heaped.

  206. So you've got hurled insults and now you've got.

  207. Heaped insults and. Some of you want to leave us.

  208. I'm not ever going to go back to that English guys church.

  209. Suck it up. Absorb the insult.

  210. Absorb the insult. So I want to.

  211. Tell you something, Englishman. OK, you can.

  212. And then I must absorb that too. Because for a young black girl

  213. and a big white. Guy to lead church together.

  214. There's had to be some absorption that's taken place.

  215. I'm tall. She's not so tall.

  216. I'm male, she's female. She's educated with the Bcom

  217. master's degree. I'm not educated.

  218. She's a mother. I'm a father.

  219. But we. Stand here somehow having.

  220. Absorbed the insult of our community so we can serve.

  221. God together. And if we're going to build

  222. something that lasts in this. Nation if we're.

  223. Going to build something that is going to change our country,

  224. then you've got to absorb the thing that is different to you.

  225. You've got to absorb it and not respond to it.

  226. And God is busy with you. He has.

  227. Been for a long time, you and your four daughters.

  228. This beautiful man, God is busy with you, but he's called you to

  229. preach, giving you a tongue to speak the life of God to people

  230. you have been absorbing for a long time.

  231. Keep absorbing. Don't respond, don't react,

  232. don't make a first. God's working.

  233. You know, friends, one of the great reasons why we absorb it

  234. is because just a little bit later, it says the same thing in

  235. Matthew. It says the same thing in, in

  236. Mark. In, in, in Mark, but in Luke.

  237. Oh, sorry, in Luke. No, in Luke, in Luke 27, don't

  238. put it up. But in Luke, somewhere along the

  239. line, these two robbers, I mean, Can you imagine 2 robbers don't

  240. know what they've stolen? Maybe from Prasa, maybe from

  241. SAA, and some of you have lost your job sitting here in this

  242. auditorium today. You lost your jobs at SAA

  243. because of what went on at SA. There's pilots sitting here,

  244. qualified pilots that have lost their job.

  245. You say, Rory, you don't understand.

  246. Now I fully understand. They're robbers on either side

  247. of us and they're both insulting Christ.

  248. And then one of them has a change of heart, and he looks.

  249. At Jesus. And he says, Jesus, Jesus,

  250. please. Today, when you get to.

  251. Heaven, will you Remember Me if. Jesus had been insulted.

  252. He would have closed the door to salvation if Jesus had been

  253. insulted, said no, you. Insulted me 20.

  254. Minutes ago you insulted. Me.

  255. But Jesus said, I tell you today you'll be with me in paradise.

  256. One of the greatest. Reasons why absorbed insult

  257. friends is because insult absorbed leads.

  258. To salvation and sometimes it's 20 minutes and sometimes it's.

  259. 20 years. As the insiders and the

  260. outsiders and the robbers insult you, there are people sitting

  261. here today. One of them I met in the door.

  262. His name is George, one of my dear friends.

  263. George. And this is what they said to me

  264. about George. You, George Shadow, will never.

  265. Ever see the inside? Of your church.

  266. And he had a lot to say about this church, and he had a lot to

  267. say about the leaders. But one day, the shadow of

  268. George fell across the entrance of this church.

  269. Now, George. Doesn't miss a Sunday and.

  270. Maybe your name is? George.

  271. I want to tell you friends, the moment we start absorbing

  272. insult, we will start attracting.

  273. George and his mates to church, are you with me?

  274. Let's keep. Reading and then we.

  275. Reading in the scripture and I know it's quite deep, but this

  276. is not. The celebration day.

  277. This is. The day that we die, this is

  278. the. Day you go home and say sorry,

  279. this is a day you go home. And the thing that.

  280. You've been holding. On to dearly you let it go

  281. today. From the 6th hour until the 9th

  282. hour, darkness came over all the land.

  283. About the 9th hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice.

  284. Eloy, Eloy la maisa bakhtani, which means my God, my God, why

  285. have you? Forsaken me.

  286. I got a letter this week from a little girl. 10 years old.

  287. Just say, dear pastor, why does? God not answer my prayers, love.

  288. Let's go to Psalm 22. Thousands of years before.

  289. Thousands of years before. Read the first line 123 written

  290. 2000 years before 2000 years before my God, say my God, my

  291. God, my God, God, you're my God, I'm Rory, I'm the son God you're

  292. my God. Why have you forsaken me?

  293. So Jesus prayed because on this day in Pretoria East in three CI

  294. is a 10 year old girl, says pastor.

  295. Why doesn't God answer? My praise?

  296. Said. You're going to have to follow

  297. Jesus, young girl. You're going to have to follow

  298. Jesus and realize that. Jesus had to take.

  299. Abandonment from the Father so that you never feel abandoned in

  300. your life. And some of you are sitting here

  301. thinking, why doesn't God answer my prayers?

  302. Jesus knows what you feel like. My God, give me a minute.

  303. My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?

  304. There will be many people sitting in your auditorium,

  305. Rory. You feel forsaken.

  306. And on this day, I'll show them that this forsakenness takes us

  307. to death, and this death results in resurrection life.

  308. He's not abandoned you, he's just taking you on a journey.

  309. My. God, my God, why?

  310. Have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving

  311. me, so far from the words of my groaning?

  312. Oh God, I'm crying out to you. Why God?

  313. Why God are you so far from my groaning?

  314. Friends, you know that I live with a brain tumor.

  315. I had a brain operation that sent that took me to Christ.

  316. That's what got me to Christ. And while I was preaching the

  317. gospel, it grew back in my head. I lived with headaches most of

  318. my life. And for years.

  319. I like God. Why cannot you hear my crying?

  320. I'm groaning to you. My head is sore.

  321. I'm trying to serve. You.

  322. I need to kill you, Rory. I need you to die.

  323. I need you. To go.

  324. Down to the bottom. Because the Church like the

  325. world. Says that the pinnacle is at the

  326. top and I want to teach you that the pinnacle is at the bottom.

  327. And when you get to the bottom you will realize how I want to

  328. build the church. Not with fancy past the titles

  329. and flying over all the world and becoming celebrities.

  330. God is not looking for celebrities, He's looking for

  331. people at the bottom. I don't believe God caused my

  332. brain to you. But I know this.

  333. He's used it to start to kill me.

  334. I'm still alive. I'm still too much of me, but

  335. sometimes I feel. God is so.

  336. Far away from me when I'm trying my.

  337. Best to get close. To me feels so far, but it's the

  338. journey of Easter Friday, it's the journey of the cross, it's

  339. the journey of absorption. This is my cry to you, 3 CI.

  340. Die well, die well on this day. Cry if you need to, cry if you

  341. need to. Yet you're enthroned as the Holy

  342. One, you're the praise of Israel, and your Father's put

  343. their trust. They cried to you and were saved

  344. and you were trusted. You're not disappointed, but I'm

  345. a worm and not a man scorned by men and despised by the people.

  346. All who? See me, mock me.

  347. They hurl. Their insults shaking their

  348. head. Hill heap shake, Hill heap

  349. shake, Hill heap shake. And he absorbed it.

  350. For time's sake, let's go to verse 12.

  351. Many bulls surround me. Strong Bulls.

  352. Of Bashan encircle me roaring. Lions tearing their prey.

  353. Open their mouths. Wide.

  354. Against me. I'm poured out like water and

  355. all my bones are out of. Joint my heart has.

  356. Turned to wax, it is melted. Away within me my.

  357. Strength is dried up like a potsherd.

  358. And my tongue. Sticks to the roof of my mouth.

  359. You lay me in the dust of death. Dogs have surrounded me.

  360. A band of evil. Men has.

  361. Encircled me they have. Pierced my hands and my feet.

  362. Verse 20. Deliver my life.

  363. From the sword my. Precious.

  364. Life from the power of the dogs. Rescue me from the mouths of the

  365. lion. Save me from the.

  366. Horns of the wild oxen. Can you put that picture please?

  367. If you saw any one of those walking towards you, what would

  368. you do? What would you do?

  369. I'm not sure if you had we in your pants first, then run or

  370. run and we in your pants, but what would you do?

  371. Look. Look at them.

  372. Look at them. Jesus.

  373. Saying. Actually, you know what?

  374. This is like. This is like.

  375. Bulls surrounding me. This is like being pierced with

  376. the horns of a bull in the very deepest plates of my heart.

  377. I don't I, I, I think I'm quite secure.

  378. But we stopped a meeting of two. And a half thousand people

  379. because I feel God wants to speak to a girl.

  380. Called Amanda and somebody comes and says what was all that?

  381. About that is like. A horn going straight.

  382. Through my heart. I'm a sensitive guy.

  383. But in the past I would have. Tried to defend myself but on

  384. this Easter front I'm saying Lord please help me to absorb

  385. this. May I absorb the horn?

  386. So I must learn the lesson of Good Friday.

  387. All these marks on my hands are from a dog that bit me.

  388. And you know, I don't like dogs. But I do.

  389. Like the Psalms and I don't. Know how God's worked it out,

  390. but every. One of my neighbors got one of

  391. those. Dogs, and I've spoken about

  392. those dogs and some of my neighbors are here.

  393. I'm going to report you today. And I'm not.

  394. You can ask my wife. We've got a neighbor's dog that

  395. barks every night at 12:00. I'm an insomniac.

  396. When I wake up, I don't go back to sleep.

  397. But I can tell you this, I've said to the Lord over this last

  398. 18 months of my life, Lord, let me hear the barking of the dogs

  399. and let me absorb it. Let me absorb it somehow.

  400. So please, you'd release a resurrection life inside of me.

  401. I can bear the sound of the dogs because of Psalm 22.

  402. Can you bear the roaring lion? Can you bear the Raging Bull?

  403. I will. Show you a picture of one of our

  404. staff members that got one bite from a dog.

  405. Let's keep it up. Louis, can you come here,

  406. please? There's a beautiful man, there's

  407. one of my friends, this man and the guy called Andrew with the

  408. team of the guys, they look after this property, make it

  409. look so beautiful. Doesn't get much recognition in

  410. the church. There's a lot of background

  411. work. But in December you're sitting

  412. next to one of his friends dogs. That's one bite, just one bite.

  413. There's one bite. We nearly lost it.

  414. One bite. There's another man here, a

  415. friend of mine. I met him on the beach down in

  416. the tell. We got became friendly on the

  417. beach and next minute he arrived in church.

  418. I said what you doing here? He said I thought you were quite

  419. interesting on the beach. He also got one bite of a dog in

  420. his face, got pock marks in his head.

  421. That happened in December. This happened in January,

  422. December as well. One bite of a dog.

  423. Now, what do you want to do when that happens to you, friend?

  424. What do you want to do when the dogs surround you and the lions

  425. surround you and the bulls surround you and they're

  426. absolutely ripping you apart? This is what I say to you.

  427. Absorb it. Absorb it like Jesus did on the

  428. cross and God will heal and God will redeem and God will make

  429. right and God will justify and God will give you a future and I

  430. hope he will protect you in Jesus name.

  431. It's sent to. Philippians chapter 2, please.

    Philippians 2 chapter mention

  432. Thanks bud for those. Who are sitting?

  433. Outside, it's great to have you. Thanks for coming.

  434. As it came from Sun City, the victory is in the V.

  435. We're looking at Philippians. Chapter 2 and verse 5 it says

    Philippians 2 chapter mention

  436. your attitude should be the same.

  437. As that of Christ Jesus say the same, not similar.

  438. Say the same. Your attitude.

  439. Should be the same as that of. Christ Jesus.

  440. Who being in very. Nature God did not.

  441. Consider equality with God. Something to be grasped.

  442. Friends, I know I've done this before, but for those who are

  443. visiting, take your hands like this and.

  444. Close it like that. And take the hand that has been

  445. locked and try and open it. Can't open it?

  446. Force it open. It's absolutely impossible.

  447. Change your hands around and see if you can open it.

  448. And it's physically impossible. And what the Bible says, your

  449. attitude should be the same as that of Christ, who being in

  450. very nature God, who being in very nature Afrikaans, who being

  451. in very nature women who being in very nature black who being

  452. in very nature black. When you're under pressure,

  453. don't close your. Hands.

  454. That's not what. Jesus did keep him open.

  455. Don't grasp it, don't grasp your male hood, don't grasp your

  456. African at him, don't grasp your English thing, don't grasp your

  457. leadership position already because your very nature, my

  458. nature, I'm an 8 type personality, I'm extroverted,

  459. I'm strong, my very nature has to grab it and God says you want

  460. to save these people properly. And have to keep your hands

  461. open. Your attitude must be the same.

  462. That's hard. That's hard.

  463. And people call you all sorts. Of things.

  464. And sometimes we've got to go against, not, not.

  465. Living unnatural life, we start to live supernatural.

  466. Sabadori, you don't. Understand.

  467. That's how. We do it no friends with.

  468. We don't do it like that anymore.

  469. Our. Attitude is the same.

  470. As Jesus, we don't act in our nature.

  471. We start acting supernaturally. Then God starts taking a short

  472. black lady with a Bcom master's degree and a tall, white, loud

  473. guy who doesn't have a degree, and he starts to build the

  474. church together. And then he takes an Indian man

  475. called Dennis and Annie, and he says you must just sit behind

  476. the pastor every Sunday. Dennis came to me when I came to

  477. Pretoria. He said, Rory, I'll sit behind

  478. you and I look after you, Dennis and Annie.

  479. I know Dennis is in Durban. I know what Dennis would have

  480. done. He would have phoned his son and

  481. said, hey boy, you better get to church early and sit behind Rory

  482. just so that he feels OK and God gave him this beautiful lady to

  483. Lisa got married on this property.

  484. Did your dad phone you? He didn't.

  485. You you phoned him? AC close.

  486. And all of a. Sudden they they.

  487. Instead of gripping positions, we start to open our hand.

  488. Where's my Bible? But he made himself.

  489. Nothing taking the very nature of a servant.

  490. And be made in human. Likeness say the nature of a

  491. servant. Friends, you've heard me say

  492. that you. Can go to a.

  493. Restaurant you can see a lady in a in in a waitress outfit.

  494. All she wants is a tip, and you can see a lady that serves you.

  495. When you come here, you should be come here to be served.

  496. We should serve you, the elders should serve you.

  497. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and

  498. became obedient to death, even death on a cross.

  499. Therefore say therefore, whenever you see the word,

  500. therefore something has gone before.

  501. Therefore God exalted him and gave him the name.

  502. Please put that little diagram up. the V, The right hand side

  503. is how the whole of Pretoria works.

  504. It's a whole of the world works. It's how the whole of society

  505. works. You're going to spend the rest

  506. of your life climbing to get to the top, and when you get to the

  507. top, everybody's going to worship you.

  508. It happens in business and it happens in the church.

  509. But the reason that Good Friday exists and the reason that

  510. people held their insults at us, outsiders, insiders, close

  511. people, family members, is to help us get down to the bottom.

  512. And when we get down to the bottom and we become obedient to

  513. death. Therefore, God exalted him and

  514. gave him the name that is above every other name.

  515. The resurrection life of God starts to kick into us.

  516. And I want to tell you here, friends, there's lots of flesh

  517. that needs to die on Easter Friday.

  518. There's lots of tension, there's lots of arguments, there's lots

  519. of personality. There's lots of English them,

  520. there's lots of black them, there's lots of Afrikaner them

  521. that has to die today so that you can tap into resurrection

  522. life. Amen.

  523. Three things we've finished. Matthew Chapter 5 let.

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  524. Me. Read them quickly from here.

  525. I'll just read them Matthew 5. Blessed are you when people

  526. insult you. I really love it.

  527. I absolutely love it. It's.

  528. Awesome. When I bust my guts and stand on

  529. the stage with a girl called Amanda and stop the whole

  530. service and the first person goes because I don't understand

  531. you, it's really, really exciting.

  532. But the Bible? Said you're blessed.

  533. You're blessed. So don't respond, don't react,

  534. don't form a fist. This muscle to close is a

  535. natural muscle, like a crocodile and like a hyena.

  536. It's a natural muscle, it closes.

  537. The muscle to keep this open is unnatural or supernatural, and

  538. Jesus knew that if the cross was going to happen on Good Friday,

  539. He had to keep his hands open so that the nails could go in his

  540. hands. I want to say to you, Sir,

  541. whether you're a medical specialist or an advocate or a

  542. father or a friend or a brother or a cousin who an aunt and you

  543. have got unfinished relationships, open your hand

  544. and let the King of Kings strike a nail through.

  545. Them and you will understand that you're blessed.

  546. Blessed are you. When people insult you,

  547. persecute. You and falsely say.

  548. All kinds of evil against you because of me.

  549. Rejoice and be glad. Wow, God, I just want to.

  550. Block some people. That's the swear word.

  551. I'm sorry. Rejoice.

  552. And be glad, because great is your reward.

  553. In heaven for in the. Same way they've persecuted the

  554. prophets who were before you. You're the salt of the earth.

  555. Etcetera, etcetera. Great is your reward.

  556. In heaven, say that, and what insult does?

  557. It brings us to a very finite point in which we have to spend

  558. years defending our position instead of letting it go and

  559. trusting God for the future. Amen.

  560. The second one. One Peter, Chapter 2.

  561. Please. To this you were called say

  562. that. Auditorium outside in the foyer

  563. outside quickly. People watching online to.

  564. This you were called to. This said to.

  565. This you were called. Come to Jesus, everything's

  566. going to be. All right.

  567. Come to Jesus 10 year old. Girl, and you're going to write

  568. little. Letters and say.

  569. Pastor, Dear Pastor Rory. Why does?

  570. God not answer my prayers, To this you were called, young

  571. lady, to this you were called because Christ suffered for you,

  572. leaving you an example that you should follow.

  573. In his steps, He committed. No sin and no deceit was found

  574. in his mouth when they hurled. Their insults at him.

  575. He did not retaliate when he suffered, he made no threats.

  576. Instead, he entrusted himself to him, who judges justly to this.

  577. I wish I'd done a better job of insulting some of you this

  578. morning. To this.

  579. You were called. To.

  580. This you were called stop defending start absorbing and

  581. you will see the resurrected life of Christ breaking.

  582. I close with the scripture. Thank you for being here and

  583. we're going to. Try and work this all out.

  584. When we leave the parking lot just now.

  585. Philippians 3, please say this. I want to know Christ.

  586. I've been serving God since I was 20 years old. 57 this year.

  587. The greatest desire in my heart. So I want.

  588. To know Christ, I want to know Christ I've never.

  589. Asked God for a big church. I've never asked God for

  590. profile. The prayer that I pray.

  591. I want to know you Jesus. I want to know Christ.

  592. I want to know the forgiveness of Christ.

  593. I want to know the cleanest of Christ.

  594. I want to know the generosity of Christ.

  595. I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and

  596. the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in

  597. His death. My headache comes and my

  598. headache goes and it weeks and months.

  599. I have no headaches and the days that I have.

  600. Terrible. Headaches and I think Jesus, you

  601. had bulls all. Around you, you had.

  602. Lions all around you. You had dogs barking

  603. continuously. At you.

  604. You were stabbed in your side. You were beaten in your.

  605. Back your head was smashed and that nobody.

  606. Could recognize you've got Please will you take these

  607. sufferings and just teach me about yourself becoming like him

  608. in his death and so somehow to attain to the resurrection from

  609. the dead. Not that I've already obtained

  610. all this or have already been made perfect, but I press on to

  611. take hold of that for it's Jesus Christ took hold of me.

  612. You will never, ever, ever participate in the resurrection.

  613. Power of Christ. Unless you share in the

  614. sufferings of Christ on the cross.

  615. Good Friday, my dear friends, is to kill you.

  616. Is to die to. The flesh.

  617. And to die to your personality, that is getting in the way of

  618. humility and the fixing of relationships.

  619. And husbands and wives. Husbands, please don't call your

  620. wife the female version of bull, but call her bull.

  621. I stop this bull. I stop this roaring and stop

  622. this barking. Close your hands like this, lift

  623. your fists, open your hands. Say to this I was called.

  624. This will bless me. If I keep my hands open,

  625. salvation will come. Let me suffer, Lord, so that I

  626. understand resurrection life.
