I Need a Nevertheless

Year. Luke chapter 5 says it this way. It says, now when he had left speaking,

he said unto Simon, launch into the deep and let down your nets for a drop.

And Simon answered and said unto him, Master, we have toiled all night and have taken nothing.

Then he says, nevertheless, everybody say nevertheless.

That's pretty good for 9 a.m. Nevertheless, at thy word, word, I will let down the net.

And when they had done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes and their nets started to break.

He said, nevertheless, I know we're not going to do it. I'm a fisherman.

You're not. I know it's not going to work. Nevertheless, because you told me I'm going to do it.

Mark chapter 14, you don't have to turn there if you don't want to,

but I got it here on the screen.

You have to trust me. This really is the Bible. But Mark chapter 14,

Mark 14:35

verse 35 says, It says, now he went forward a little while, fell on the ground.

This is before his crucifixion and prayed that if it were possible,

the hour might pass for him.

He said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto you. Take away this cup for me. Look at this.

Nevertheless, not what I will, but what you will.

And he comes and finds him sleeping and said to Peter, Simon,

sleepest thou? Could you not watch for an hour?

Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation. The spirit is truly ready,

but the flesh is weak. And again, he went away and prayed and spake the same words.

Jesus prayed to the father and said, father, my flesh don't want to do this.

Can you, can you find some other way? He said, nevertheless,

because I trust you, I'm willing to live it out anyway.

I want to preach on this, this thought this morning is something that's very

personal, personal to me.

I've been thinking about for several days now is this. I need a nevertheless.

And whether you realize it or not, you need a nevertheless.

We need a nevertheless. It's personal to us. I need a nevertheless.

Let's ask God to open our hearts. Let's ask God to open our spirits this morning

as we begin, okay? Can we do that?

Father, in the name of Jesus, we just ask you to open our hearts, open our minds.

Father, everything else can wait.

What we're going to have for lunch, it can wait. What we've got waiting for work tomorrow.

That can wait. What the family is going to do this afternoon,

that could wait. This time is yours.

This time is yours. Holy Spirit, speak to me right now. Holy Spirit,

speak to every person in this room. Enlighten us.

Inspire us in this place today. In the name of Jesus, we pray.

And the church said, amen, amen.

You know, your brain responds to words in incredible ways.

Words actually impacts the way that you experience the world.

There's been studies done on this. I read a lot of things throughout the week on studies.

People actually study and research the way that words will shape the way that

you perceive the world around you.

As a matter of fact, I was reading some psychology studies that said that if

you have negative self-talk, and sometimes I'm guilty of this.

Has anybody ever done this before?

I'll do something, and I'll say, oh, Scott, that was stupid.

I mean, what are you thinking? Are you a dummy? And I'll say things like that.

Has anybody ever done that before?

I mean, yeah, I think we all have. have. Scientists have actually proved that

negative self-talk can cause you to fail in areas of your life.

It can cause you to enjoy life less than what you could possibly enjoy life.

Whereas positive self-talk, when you tell yourself that you are,

and I'm not saying that you got to get up in the mirror and say,

I'm good enough and people like, you know, I'm not saying you got to to do that

every morning, but speaking in a positive manner, positive self-talk can impact,

scientifically, can impact the way that you see the world and the way that you enjoy life.

Words have a way of framing the world around us. If you don't believe that,

let me give you an example.

I remember I was teaching eighth grade math at the time, and there was this

little girl in my class that knew how to push A's.

Everybody's buttons. And she always broke the school rules.

And she's probably graduated by now. Hopefully, she's got a great job making thousands of dollars.

And so I'm speaking that into her life.

But she broke all the school rules. And she used to really push every teacher's buttons.

And I remember we were in class one day, and I had reminded her,

I had encouraged her, I had, you know, sternly encouraged her that week that

she needs to quit breaking this certain rule that I had as a classroom rule.

And so on one occasion, on this occasion, once again, she broke my rule.

And when she broke my rule, I called her name and I said, didn't I remind you

yesterday day that we don't do that in this classroom.

And her response was, yeah, so?

I mean, probably that face right there is the one that she gave me. She said, so?

I mean, has anybody, have you ever had a child? Have you ever had somebody? Maybe it's your spouse.

I mean, we probably don't want to go there. I don't want to do any marriage

counseling this afternoon, but maybe somebody has answered you with so.

Has anybody ever answered you with so and it absolutely roasted you?

I mean, it absolutely burnt you up and you were, yeah, I can look around from

the parents' faces like, oh yeah, yeah.

So there's no other word that I can think of as a teacher that actually shows

carelessness and a total disregard for anybody else or just a total lack of respect,

a total lack of, I don't know, I can't even put that into words. That word so.

Her saying that word so to me that day was not the positive affirmation that I needed in my life.

As a matter of fact, she got a little instruction in righteousness right after

she said the word so, and she probably, you know, spent some time in trouble

because of that. Maybe got a discipline referral.

I can't remember on that particular incident.

But it's amazing how just a few words can change your life. So is one of those words.

We look at it, though, and when we start thinking about words,

I was thinking about that little girl, thinking about some words that I've said

over the years, but words are a direct reflection of our attitude. We know this.

Words are a direct reflection of our attitude.

You can listen to somebody and the way that they talk and you can tell what

their Their attitude really is.

So when somebody says, hey, I know I said that, but I didn't really mean it.

No, they really meant it.

They really did. They just so happened they said it. And they wish they hadn't

said it, but they meant it.

Because words are a direct reflection of our attitudes.

Have you ever boiled over before and you were mad and you said some things you wish you hadn't said?

Yeah, and it wasn't because you didn't feel that way. You felt that way.

You just got mad enough to say it.

Words are, I know there's people right now saying, are you preaching on me,

preacher? Yeah, I'm preaching on all of us. We all get there.

Words are a direct reflection of our attitude.

In our text today, though, a single word, in a lot of different ways,

a single word can change a situation.

A single word, because it's a reflection of your attitude, a single word can

change the outcome of a situation It can change the direction of a life.

And that single word we're talking about today is nevertheless.

Just one word that you speak can reflect an attitude that you have.

Now we look at this in the Old Testament. The original meaning of this word

nevertheless, strangely enough, it means a ceasing, a finality, an end to something.

Thing. When you say nevertheless, it's like I'm putting to rest the old thing,

and I'm moving on to something different.

Something ceases, and I move on to something else.

We skip over to Mark's writing, though, and you see that nevertheless,

it's actually used in a different way.

In Mark's writing that we read just a little bit earlier, nevertheless means

after a negative sentence, it serves to mark a transition to something new.

Man, I love that right there.

We need a nevertheless. We need a way to, after something negative.

To mark a transition to a new attitude, a new situation, a new way of thinking,

a new day, a new beginning, whatever it is. It's a transition word.

And then we look at it a little bit further, and when we read this same thing

on over in the New Testament, in this Greek word, it actually means an opposition to concession. Right?

And then finally, according, this is not the Bible, this is the American Heritage

Dictionary, fourth edition, in today's English, it actually means in spite of all that.

I like that right there. In spite of all that.

Nevertheless has the ability to shift your thinking.

We need a nevertheless. Now, I want you to look through the Bible at the way

that nevertheless changed things in people's life.

First of all, sometimes we use nevertheless in a wrong way.

Because nevertheless can be used to change something from a positive to a negative.

You can change it from a positive to a negative. Let me tell you a story back

in the book of Numbers when the Bible says they sent out spies to spy out the land of Canaan.

And these spies went into the land of Canaan. And they saw it was a land that

flowed with milk and honey.

There was grapes that were so big that they had to carry them back on staves.

It could be everything that they could have ever wanted.

Yet the Bible tells us that some of those spies, 85% of those spies,

saw something different than just the milk and honey.

They saw people that looked like giants in that land.

They saw armies and enemies over there that they couldn't overcome.

And here's what the Bible says in the book of Numbers. The Bible says in Numbers

that after they returned from that land for 40 days,

and they went and they came to Moses and to Aaron and

to all the congregation of Israel and out out

into the wilderness and they brought back word into them

and to all the congregation and they showed them

the fruit of the land you know it's amazing all this this fruit and all this

this this this fertile proof that they're bringing back from the land of canaan

yet the bible says this they says it says and they told him we came to a land

where you sent us and surely it flows flows with milk and honey,

and this is the fruit of it. So God has sent them there.

God told them, I'm going to lead you to a land that is flowing with milk and honey.

God told them, I'm going to empower you to get to this place.

They come back with evidence that this is that land that God showed them, that God promised them.

Surely it really does flow with milk and honey, and surely it really has fruit that's overwhelming.

But this next sentence, the Bible says they said, said, nevertheless.

The people be strong that dwell in that land. The cities are walled and very great.

And we saw the children of Anak. They're saying there's giants.

The children of Anak. Anak was a giant. They're saying there's giants in that land.

If you look at that story, you realize that it was God that sent them there,

God that empowered them, but there was something thing about them crossing over

that in their carnality, they stopped trusting God.

They use a nevertheless to take them from where God was sending them and keep

them to where they were standing at that very moment.

I want to remind you something right here. It wasn't

Joshua and Caleb that pulled down grapes from that land. No,

there was other spies that pulled grapes down from that land.

Joshua and Caleb said, yeah, we're well able.

We can do it. But the other spies pulled down the same grapes that they did.

It wasn't just Joshua and Caleb who ate of the fruit of that land.

They were there for 40 days.

They weren't starving. They were in there with milk and honey. They were there.

It's kind of like the leprous men that went out and overtook the Syrian camp,

they're like, maybe we should go tell everybody else that all this is out here, right?

I could imagine them. They're over there eating grapes.

They're over there enjoying that land. And they're like, oh,

40 days, guys, we should probably be getting back, right? This is great,

but we should probably be getting back over there.

And yet the same ones that enjoyed the fruit of that land came back and the

power of nevertheless, even though they witnessed the promises of God,

they couldn't trust his protection.

See, that's what it does when you allow nevertheless nevertheless,

to get in your mind and turn you from where God's taking you to where you're standing.

You may believe in the power of God, but you'll never see his promises.

That power of nevertheless in a negative way, it will keep you where you are right now.

And you might say, well, I feel pretty good about where I am right now.

Well, the Israelites felt pretty good about where they were at the time too,

but the Bible tells us there was milk and honey.

There was fruit and fertility waiting over there in that promised land.

It was the land that God had given them, and yet they wanted to stay where they were.

God did not lead them to this point to wish if only we could be over there.

So you look at that. 85% of those spies use the excuse of nevertheless to change

the power of we saw, the positive of we saw, into the negative of we can't.

And I'm afraid that even in our lives that God inspires us and God leads us and God encourages us.

And if we're not careful, we let the power of nevertheless keep us from God

said and change us from God said into we can't and we'll never and I'll never or I might.

See, if God says it, it's going to happen.

If God says you're going to possess it, it's not a matter of we may be able to get there.

As a matter of fact, Joshua and Caleb said, we are well able to overtake them,

but because of the negative power of nevertheless, it changed it from positive to negative.

Remember, there's plenty of promises in the land that they spied out,

but in spite of all of that, they said, we can't do it.

Nevertheless, see, once again, words are a clear reflection of our attitude.

The problem wasn't just the words they spoke. It was the attitude of the heart.

Those spies that had the negative report, the bad report, the Bible says the

evil report is what they call it because anything that's against the plan of God is evil.

Oh, could I say that one more time? Because sometimes people say,

well, you're just being negative.

No, if you're speaking against the plan of God, the Bible says you're being evil.

Amen. If you're speaking against the plan of God, then you're speaking something

that's contrary to the knowledge of God and the will of God,

and that's an evil report.

The evil report that came back, they said we can't do it, but the Word of God said they could.

See, that's where we've got to use the power of nevertheless to change that

negative into a positive.

Listen, there's negativity all around us. It's amazing, isn't it?

There's negativity all around us. If you want to hear negativity,

just go talk to somebody. They'll tell you.

They will. It's amazing, the stories. Nobody ever tells you a positive story.

I want you to do this, all right? You don't even have to go all week.

Just do it the rest of the day.

Every time somebody tells you a story, just make tally marks,

all right? How many is positive and how many is negative?

Nobody ever tells you a positive story. Nobody ever comes up and says, hey, you know what?

I'm doing great. I don't have any kidney stones. Nobody ever says that, right?

I can relate to you right there. Nobody ever comes up and says,

I'm not had a single headache this week.

Nobody ever comes up and says, hey, you know what? My husband,

man, he's not sorry at all. Nobody ever says these kind of things.

It's always the other way around. There's so much negativity around.

We need the power of nevertheless to turn us around into a positive thing that God is wanting us to see.

Someone once said that it takes both a positive and a negative to start a vehicle.

Well, that may be so, but we've got too much negative, all right?

We need some more positive in our life.

We need some more will of God in our lives. See, the Bible in Luke's recording

of the miracle of the fishes and loaves, we experience the power of nevertheless

to change a negative to the positive.

Now, look at the power of this word. And remember, words are a reflection of an attitude.

I want to point this out because we read the words, but it's the attitude.

Those spies in the Old Testament, it wasn't the word, nevertheless,

that caused them not to go. It was their attitude that caused them not to go.

They had a negative attitude.

They had a failing attitude.

But in Luke's gospel, here's what the Bible says. The Bible says in Luke chapter

Luke 5 · chapter mention

5, oh, there we go, from a negative to a positive.

It says, and when he left speaking, he said unto Simon, launch out into the

deep. You're going to cast out your nets, this huge catch.

And Simon said, Master, we have toiled all night and have taken nothing. thing.

Nevertheless, at your word. I love that.

If you look at it historically, if you're reading, we didn't read verse two,

but verse two says they just spent the morning cleaning their nets.

In other words, not only had they failed, but they'd even finished cleaning

up after they had failed. So they were finished.

They were failed and finished. Oh man, I could preach right there a message

on being failed and finished this morning, but I'll save that for another day.

They were failed and finished.

They were fishermen by trade.

Peter, that's what he did all of his life.

And yet you've got a guy that had been raised by a carpenter that's coming out

and telling them how to fish.

He saw that there was no reason. Peter said, we've tried all night.

I'm a fisherman because I can read between the lines here with Peter.

We've tried all night. I'm a fisherman. I know more about this than you do.

But nevertheless, Simon Peter used the power of nevertheless to change his situation

from a negative situation.

His attitude of nevertheless, his faith of nevertheless at your word.

He used that to change a negative situation into a positive situation.

He said, Lord, we've not caught anything all night.

But remember what that word meant? But in spite of all that,

oh man, I wish we could have a church this morning that said,

I know that there may be some open seats this morning, but in spite of all that,

I'm going to keep on telling people about Jesus Christ.

I wish we had a church this morning that said, I've prayed and I've not seen

my prayers answered lately, but in spite of all that, I'm going to keep on praying anyway.

I wish we had a church this morning that said, I've stood on the word for all

these years and my faith's starting to get a little weak, but in spite of all that,

no matter what this world throws against me, I'm going to be standing upon the

Word of God and believing in the Word of God.

We must have, in spite of all that attitude...

Man, that's why Peter was the kind of guy that Jesus said, upon this rock,

I'm going to build my church.

There was an attitude with the disciple Peter that no matter what the circumstances

were, you see it later on in Peter's life,

even though I may have denied you, even though I may have even cussed in front of a little slave girl,

even though I may have went back out fishing after you were crucified to return to my own life,

I'm still willing to stand up in front of unbelievers on the day of Pentecost

and begin to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and see souls saved.

That's a nevertheless attitude.

We need a nevertheless this morning.

Nevertheless, God, I may not have seen it with my own eyes, the miracles that they talk about.

Over the years, I may not have seen it with my own eyes, but nevertheless,

I'm going to keep on believing for it anyway. And if you have that nevertheless

attitude, the Bible says, he said, nevertheless, we're going to cast them out.

And when they cast them out, they got a bigger catch than they'd ever gotten before in their lives.

The Bible said the catch was so big, the nets began to break.

God, I'm praying for Freedom Worship Church that we keep on casting out the

net. That we say, God, we know it's an evil generation.

We know addiction is running rampant. We know there's every excuse in the world

why people tell you that church attendance is declining in America.

We can blame it on a hundred different things. But nevertheless,

at your word, I'm going to keep on serving you.

I'm going to keep on living for you. I'm going to keep on praying.

I'm going to keep on believing. And I believe we're going to let down our nets

and there's going to be a catch in here like we've never seen before.

Yes. Amen. Hallelujah.

it But not only I'm teasing you guys So the Greek,

it served to mark the transition of something old to something new We need a

transition Some of you guys need a transition in your life You're tired of the old stuff,

I'm tired of some of this old stuff I'm not talking about old fashioned I'm

talking about stuff that the world has that I'm tired of Excuses the world have

that I'm tired of of attitudes the world has that I'm tired of.

We're ready for some new stuff in here.

But remember this, words are a clear reflection of an attitude.

See, we need to start using more nevertheless and a lot less but.

I know that God can, but.

No, no, I know it's bad out here. Nevertheless, I'm going to keep on doing it anyway.

I believe God can do some things. But not only is it from the negative to the positive.

Here's what we've got to realize about this. This is something that transitions

this word in Scripture. It transitions us from the carnal to the spiritual.

And that's the transition that all of us needs to make. From the carnal to the

spiritual. That's why we're praying and fasting for this 21 days.

We want to plug in not just to the carnal to the spiritual.

We want to let our spirit man on the inside, this Holy Spirit that lives on

the inside of us, that the Bible says that the job of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus.

We want to tap into this spirit man on the inside of us and make that transition

from the carnal to the spiritual.

We read about it in Mark chapter 14. It shows us the power that Jesus showed

us, the power of nevertheless.

See, Jesus Christ was God. The second part of the Godhead, Godhead wrapped in humanity.

The Bible says in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God,

and the Word was with God, and the same was in the beginning with God.

Jesus was there at creation. That Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit,

the triune Godhead was there at creation.

But the Bible tells us that when we needed redemption, that God sent His Son

to sinful man, that He tabernacled is the word that was used there in the New Testament.

He clothed Himself in flesh and came down to live as a mortal man.

The Bible tells us that he lived sinlessly spotlessly

the Bible says that he although he knew no

sin he became sin so that we could become the righteousness

of God he took upon our sin in his life he knew what it was life he in the remaining

hours of his life here on earth he there was there was temptation there there

was Jesus the Bible says he was tempted in all points just like us yet without

sin he was tempted to not do the will of the father Father.

It's hard for some of us to hear because we don't realize, we don't have the

understanding that Jesus was tempted just like us.

See, unless he lived as a man, he could not make an atonement for man.

He lived as a man. He was tempted just like we are every day.

And he was tempted to not go to the cross.

As a matter of fact, he even verbalized it.

I know the Bible says for the joy that was set before him, and that joy is not

him going through the suffering.

That's not what the Bible is talking about. out. The joy is knowing that you

and I could be freed of our transgressions. That was the joy of Jesus.

And so the Bible shows us right here that what he was saying,

and I didn't put it in my slides, but what he was saying is,

God, if there's any other way, let's just do it some other way.

God, I really don't want to go through this right now. But the Bible says that

he said, nevertheless, I got this right there.

Look at it. The Bible says, if it's possible unto thee,

take away this cup from me but look what he

said right here he said nevertheless not my

will but your will you know what that means right there

that means god i don't want to go through a roman crucifixion god

i don't want to be beaten i don't want to go through this

but nevertheless i'm going to step from my own carnal

desires because there's a spiritual priority that's in front of me there's something

spiritual work that i'm getting ready to do nevertheless i'm going to go through

with it I know that the power of nevertheless is able to take you from your

carnal thinking into the presence of a holy God.

That's what nevertheless did for us 2,000 years ago.

But with Jesus exemplifying that for us, he said, nevertheless.

Not my will, but your will be done.

In spite of everything, he shows us the power of nevertheless.

Remember, words are a clear reflection of an attitude. It changes the dialogue.

It changes the situation.

It changes everything around us.

See, there's power, power of nevertheless has the ability to change everything.

It's not a word. It's an attitude.

But what you find is when you adopt that attitude, when you allow the Spirit

to rise up in you and you get some grit, I don't have time to talk about that

either, but we need to get some grit in church again.

We need to get some grit where we realize the Holy Spirit, there's some things

out there that we may not be able to handle. or there's some things out there,

but we need to get some grit again where we say we're willing to stand up against the adversary.

We're willing to stand up against contending voices. We're willing to,

even in the face of whatever it is, whatever sickness and persecution,

nevertheless, we're going to stand up and do the will of God.

It's an attitude, and out of that attitude, your words change because a word

is a reflection of your attitude.

Out of that attitude, your voice is different. friend.

Out of that attitude, all of a sudden you began to encourage people where before

you were discouraging people, but it all comes out of that attitude.

They'll come to the music this morning. The power of nevertheless can change

things for us as individuals and even as a church body, even as a church body.

Pastor Rob's going to tell the story about it over the years,

but he's going to talk to you about how even in the early 30s they were bootleggers and atheists,

all everything was worst place in the world to think to start a church.

Bootleggers and atheists you know if i'm

thinking man i'd like i'd like to have somebody to add to

our children's ministry let me go get a bootlegger or an

atheist probably not my first thought nevertheless they

said God did something in our life we're gonna

start a church right here throughout history

there's been never the lesses in this church I started

thinking about it it's talking to Ashley this week talking to Vip this week.

I was thinking about even in my own life when I moved back here from from northern

kentucky um pastor pastor rob he uh talked to me about working with our teenagers,

and i'd never worked with teenagers before i'd always done adult ministry and

i prayed about it i felt it was the will of the lord i didn't want it i i really didn't want to do it,

it meant teenagers kind of got on my nerves and i'm just gonna be honest with

you and so I prayed about it and I just felt like okay,

and there was a nevertheless there because even though I didn't have any experience

in it even though I had a whole lot of things going on in my life at the time.

Engaged to be married, had a new job and all these other things.

Even though there was seven kids in a Sunday school room that was doing youth out of.

I said, nevertheless, God, at your word, I feel like you want me to do this.

All of a sudden, people start getting saved. Some of you in this building today

were saved out of that youth group.

I started thinking about nevertheless in my life.

You see, those neverthelesses is not a one-time experience, an attitude we got to keep.

And for some of us in this building, we need to get that nevertheless attitude back.

We need to get that attitude of faith. You see, that's what the nevertheless

is. It's an attitude of faith.

That's what Joshua and Caleb were exemplifying was, God, we got an attitude

of faith to where with God, all things are possible.

Oh, we need your word. Oh, we need your promise.

What is it that god has promised in your life what is

it that god has spoken in your life what is it that you've read in

the word of god that you said god i believe if only

if anything i wish i could have that what is

it you need that nevertheless for in your life right now let's all stand all

over the building yeah i see i see it's registering with some of you guys already

there's power and nevertheless there is it's an attitude of faith it's an attitude

that It says no matter what the contrary wind says,

no matter what the contending voices say,

no matter what the difficulty looks like.

I'm going to walk by faith. I'm not going to walk by sight.

Nevertheless, at your word, I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it.

Every head bowed, every eye closed.

If you're here this morning and you'd say pastor scott that's me i need a nevertheless,

maybe it's something you're going through right now that you need that nevertheless,

maybe it's somewhere you want to take your life to your family

to your marriage to that you need that nevertheless maybe

it's personal devotion that you need that never maybe it's

maybe it's a battle you're fighting right now a physical battle financial

battle you're needing that nevertheless but you're

maybe it's a calling maybe God's called you to do

something in this place today and you've been running and you've

been making excuses and you need that nevertheless to get

back maybe you're maybe you're supposed to get back to something that you had

laid down and you're needing that nevertheless this morning that's you and you'd

say I need a nevertheless I want you to raise your hand right now yeah there's

hands going up there's hands going up all around thank you Jesus amen here's

what I want you to do if you're with somebody just join hands with them.

If you're not with somebody, if there's somebody that you're close to,

you can join hands if you want to, but God's right there with you.

God's right there with you. He's going to agree with you, all right?

And let's just ask God, God, we need that nevertheless. Give us that nevertheless right now.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you. We thank you for your Holy

Spirit in this house right now.

And, God, our prayer, our prayer this morning is that you would speak to our

hearts, that you would encourage us. but God, we don't need encouragement that

stops at 10 o'clock when this service is over.

No, we need encouragement that's going to propel us into our destiny.

We need an attitude. We need a nevertheless attitude.

We need to be like the Apostle Peter and step out in faith just at your word.

Lord, we need that kind of attitude like you had. And the Bible says you set

your face like a flint toward Calvary.

Lord, that overcoming spirit. We need a nevertheless attitude that says in spite

of all that, we're willing to pray.

We're willing to step out. We're willing to believe one more time.

God, we need that in our lives, Jesus.

Father, in this place today, every individual, give us the nevertheless attitude

that we need. Not just a word.

A nevertheless attitude.

In our lives this morning.

In the name of Jesus.

In this place this morning, it's amazing what happens when you get that nevertheless.

I want to share this with you before you go.

Because having a nevertheless mindset, faith without works is dead.

Unless you take a step of faith and you make that turn.

Unless you take that step, you make that decision. You step out in faith.

You use it. It doesn't mean nothing.

So we're not talking about just a change of mind here. We're talking about a

change of life, a change of direction, a change of the way that we're living.

I encourage you, start walking out in nevertheless faith.

Start living out nevertheless faith. And we're going to see amazing things happen around here.
