  1. going to be a little bit different in that I'm

  2. not really going to preach at all today. I'm

  3. saying it's going to be kind of more of a teaching

  4. kind of time along the lines of the prophetic

  5. and we're going to end by giving you the opportunity

  6. to kind of practice that and kind of the goal

  7. in all of that is to help you identify if maybe

  8. a prophetic calling is part of what God's up

  9. to in your life. So it'll be more of a teaching

  10. time. I'll kind of interact a lot with the screen

  11. and that's kind of where we're going. So it'll

  12. kind of follow along the lines of what we've

  13. already talked about, invite and exalt and surrender

  14. and embrace. So this is kind of the... We've

  15. spent some time inviting Him, exalting Him, so

  16. this is kind of the part that we'll talk a little

  17. bit about surrender. Is this what God's asking

  18. of us and how can we surrender to that and then

  19. embracing what He's doing in our life. So, a

  20. lot of it will be on the screen. Is it? Did I

  21. do that? Yeah, okay. I think I'm good. Here we

  22. go. So, understanding the prophetic. What is

  23. the prophetic? So basically the prophetic, kind

  24. of the easiest way that I could describe it is

  25. hearing the voice of God and then communicating

  26. what you hear Him say. That's the essence of

  27. the prophetic. It's just hearing Him and saying

  28. exactly what He says. So should we add to what

  29. He says? I don't recommend it. Should we subtract

  30. from what He says? I don't recommend it. Neither

  31. one of those are good, so we just hear what he

  32. says and speak exactly what we hear him saying.

  33. So obviously some biblical basis for the prophetic.

  34. Obviously we would talk about the Old Testament

  35. prophets. There were major prophets and minor

  36. prophets. Somebody give me an example of a major

  37. prophet. Elijah. So Jeremiah, major prophet.

  38. Who'd be a minor prophet? Minor prophets would

  39. be like Joel's a minor prophet, Micah minor prophet,

  40. bunch of prophets in the Old Testament. And obviously

  41. we can see that that moves into the New Testament.

  42. So there were still prophets in the New Testament

  43. church. So Paul says things like, I wish that

  44. you would all prophesy, right? So even to the

  45. church today, kind of we have this understanding

  46. that everyone can prophesy. Does that mean that

  47. everyone's a prophet? No. Not everyone's a prophet.

  48. He gave some to be prophets, but everyone can

  49. prophesy. And we also know that Jesus, because

  50. he's perfect theology, Jesus is described as

  51. being prophet, priest, and king. So he serves

  52. in all those capacities. He's prophet. He's the

  53. person who hears the voice of God communicates

  54. that to people. He's priest, he's the one who

  55. ministers to people, and he's king. That just

  56. means that he's in charge, right? It's a fancy

  57. way of saying that he's in charge. He gets to

  58. call the shots. So, we've talked a little bit

  59. the last couple weeks about the fivefold ministry,

  60. apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, teachers,

  61. and there's a difference between the fact that

  62. everyone can prophesy and not everyone is a prophet.

  63. We understand that. So I like to think of it

  64. this way. I'll come back to that in a second.

  65. It's on the next screen, I believe. So we'll

  66. talk about this in a second. And I think there's

  67. a slide for it, if I remember right. So being

  68. able to prophesy is a gift for all. The gift

  69. of being a prophet requires a call. See, I'm

  70. a poet and didn't know it. So to be able to prophesy

  71. is a gift for all. But to be a prophet requires

  72. a call. So here's kind of a the prophetic at

  73. a macro view So if you take the prophetic and

  74. you zoom all the way out, this is kind of what

  75. it boils down to three main components So you

  76. have revelation the part about revelation is

  77. we don't get to determine that right? That's

  78. what God speaks. That's his revelation all revelation

  79. comes from him At least as we're talking about

  80. today So is it possible that we could pick up

  81. something from someplace else that's not from

  82. God? Absolutely. So the very first thing that

  83. we need to discover is, is this really from God?

  84. If it is, then we can say that that's revelation,

  85. that He's revealed this to us. If it's something

  86. like it's a blot of bad mustard, then we need

  87. to chalk it up to that and don't say that that's

  88. revelation. That's a blot of bad mustard. It's

  89. also possible that sometimes we can hear and

  90. figure out what the enemy is saying to us. Right.

  91. And certainly we don't want to say that that's

  92. revelation from God if it's actually coming from

  93. the enemy and we don't want to say that it's

  94. revelation if it's coming from ourself. So you

  95. have revelation you have interpretation. So the

  96. interpretation is where we say what does this

  97. mean. I think that God has spoken this and sometimes

  98. we aren't quite able to figure out whether it's

  99. revelation until we get the interpretation right.

  100. because sometimes in the interpretation we realize

  101. maybe this wasn't the voice of God and that helps

  102. us but okay this is what he said what does this

  103. mean this is the interpretation and then what

  104. do we do with that so let me give you I want

  105. to give lots of examples along the way so while

  106. I was pastoring in cardington I had this crazy

  107. dream One night and in this dream. I was driving

  108. down the road in a van that we didn't own at

  109. the time Eventually we would I'm driving down

  110. the road and in the intersection of this road.

  111. There was a green gravity wagon and so basically

  112. those things that you would put corn in or soybeans.

  113. It doesn't really matter, but then they would

  114. come out to shoot on the bottom and that way

  115. you could take the stuff from the field and you

  116. could put it wherever you needed to be. Usually

  117. like on a conveyor and it would put it up in

  118. a silo or something like that. So there's this

  119. green gravity wagon in the middle of the road

  120. and I hit the thing and I got hurt. My dad was

  121. with me at the time. My family was all with me

  122. and I wanted to make sure that everyone was okay

  123. and we get to this place that um was a place

  124. of healing right after that so i'm like lord

  125. that's crazy i think that that's you i think

  126. that the entire dream was from you so what i'm

  127. asking is about revelation right where is this

  128. coming from should i not eat bratwurst before

  129. bed or is god saying something here so but what

  130. i'm what i'm wrestling with is revelation where

  131. is this coming from bad bratwurst or from a good

  132. god and So I said to the Lord and this is what

  133. I would encourage you to do. So if you're not

  134. certain Okay, is this from God? I would just

  135. ask him. What does that mean? Because if it's

  136. from him then guess what he's going to do He's

  137. gonna tell you what it means So I said, okay

  138. Lord, I believe this is from you. I'm trying

  139. to just say is this revelation? that's what I'm

  140. getting at and if it's from you, I have no idea

  141. what that means and if it's from you I need some

  142. help to know what that means I need interpretation

  143. I need to know what this means and there was

  144. I'm going to be honest with you and sometimes

  145. it works like this the Lord did not immediately

  146. speak about it but after a few hours he started

  147. to speak to me about it and he said Phil where

  148. are you serving and I said in cardington And

  149. he said, what's Cardington known for? And I thought

  150. I'd be clever. And I said, well, in 1974, they

  151. were the state champions in baseball. And the

  152. Lord said, hey, that's cute. But you know, that's

  153. not what I'm talking about. So I said, well,

  154. Cardington actually gets its name from the fact

  155. that it was a carding town. that people, there

  156. used to be a grain mill in Cardington. It's long

  157. gone, but there used to be a grain mill in Cardington

  158. and people from all around would bring their

  159. grain to Cardington and they would have their

  160. grain milled up and then they would be able to

  161. sell it in different things. So he said, so you

  162. mean to tell me that you're in a town that's

  163. known for being a carding town that people would

  164. cart their grain in to this place that you're

  165. at. Is that what you're telling me? Yes, that's

  166. what I'm telling you. So he said, does the gravity

  167. wagon make any more sense? So there's this wagon

  168. that's a grain wagon that's being, does that

  169. part make sense to you? And I'm like, yes, it

  170. does. So he said, so you're in this place where

  171. the gravity wagon now makes sense, right? And

  172. I won't go into all the details about it, but

  173. that was a painful, difficult time for me, for

  174. Danita, for our entire family. So he said, so

  175. like the bump in the road that you experienced

  176. with the gravity wagon, that makes sense, right?

  177. You're following that. Yes, that makes sense.

  178. And in this, all of your family was okay, right?

  179. I mean, we're all good, we make it through this,

  180. but there was this time of healing that took

  181. place after that, right? And I'm like, yes, that

  182. all makes sense. So he's like, do you understand

  183. how in this dream I'm talking about you? I'm

  184. talking about what's happening in your life.

  185. And I'm like, yes, now that I think about that,

  186. what am I working through? Interpretation, what

  187. does this mean? And then the application is,

  188. what do I do with this? So now that I understand

  189. that, well, in that scenario, what do I do with

  190. that? What I did with that was I'm just like,

  191. OK, the Lord sees me. And even though this is

  192. a difficult place and this is a difficult time,

  193. and yes, there are some bumps and some bruises

  194. along the way, God's going to be faithful to

  195. get us through this time and he's going to take

  196. us to a place that will be about healing and

  197. recovery and restoration. Does that all make

  198. sense? So you have revelation, interpretation,

  199. application. So sometimes the Bible talks about

  200. the same principle. but it talks about it in

  201. some different terms. So it talks about word

  202. of knowledge. How many of you have ever heard

  203. somebody talk about word of knowledge? Me. Word

  204. of knowledge is basically the revelation. We'll

  205. talk a little bit more about this, but it's when

  206. you have information that you could not have

  207. gotten on your own. And I want to be careful

  208. here because in really all of the fivefold, apostles,

  209. prophets, evangelists, shepherds, teachers, there's

  210. plenty of opportunity for abuse. this is one

  211. of the places that the prophetic can be it can

  212. be abused because sometimes people will know

  213. things but they know them through a conversation

  214. that they've had with somebody else and then

  215. they'll try to say that it's prophetic that God

  216. spoke that to them well obviously that's a no

  217. -no so if you've gotten the information from

  218. somebody else and then you try to pass it off

  219. as being prophetic that God spoke to you about

  220. this First of all, it's immoral because you just

  221. lied and you also lied about what God revealed

  222. to you. So, I mean, you see how that becomes

  223. a big deal. And all I'm saying is this, if you

  224. got it from a conversation with somebody else,

  225. that's fine, but call it like it is. Don't say

  226. that you got that from God when God had nothing

  227. to do with it, right? Does that make sense? So

  228. we'll talk a little bit more about word of knowledge

  229. but it's when God gives us heavenly downloads

  230. of information that we have no other way of knowing.

  231. Have you ever just known something like you know

  232. that you know it but you don't know how you know

  233. it? Now I'll tell you who is better at this and

  234. obviously there are exceptions to this but in

  235. general terms do you think men or women are better

  236. at this? In general terms, who do you think is

  237. better? I would say women. And do you know why?

  238. How many of you have ever heard somebody talk

  239. about a woman's intuition? Like sometimes, Danina

  240. just knows things. And she's just like, well,

  241. how do you know that? I don't know. Well, did

  242. you talk to somebody about that? No, I didn't

  243. need to. Well, how do you know that? I just know.

  244. And what I think often happens is I think what

  245. we pass off as a woman's intuition is actually

  246. the prophetic. Does that make sense? So like

  247. sometimes guys, and I am one so I can say this,

  248. but sometimes we're just dense and we just don't

  249. get stuff. And there have been times, and we

  250. don't need to go down that path, but there have

  251. been times that Danita will say, Hey, I want

  252. you to be careful with the interactions that

  253. you have with this particular person. And I'm

  254. like, I don't know what you're talking about.

  255. It seems completely fine to me. And she's like,

  256. no, I'm telling you it's not. And come to find

  257. out she's right. Now, I don't think that that

  258. is, I mean, Danita's amazing. But I don't think

  259. that that's just unique to her. And I don't think

  260. that that's just something that is something

  261. special about her. I think that. We often have

  262. those kind of leadings and promptings and we

  263. just don't know what to do with them or we don't

  264. know what they are. I would suggest to you that

  265. they're actually part of the prophetic. Does

  266. that make sense? So revelation, it's when you

  267. know something but you don't know it through

  268. normal human means and God gave you that information

  269. about people, places, things, whatever. Interpretation

  270. is what you do with it. We would call that word

  271. of wisdom. So word of knowledge and word of wisdom

  272. always have to go together. So when God gives

  273. you information, don't just go and immediately

  274. act on it, because you're probably going to get

  275. it wrong. So when God gives us information, we

  276. need to then say, okay, what's the wisdom that

  277. goes with this? What am I supposed to do with

  278. this? And sometimes God will say to you, well,

  279. I want you to have a conversation with so -and

  280. -so. Or sometimes God will say to you, I want

  281. you to shut your mouth. I don't want you to say

  282. anything about it. And you aren't going to know

  283. that unless you ask him. So you ask him for the

  284. wisdom that goes with that. And then, what do

  285. I do with that? How does that play itself out?

  286. Just one quick example. It was about one month

  287. to the day before 9 -11. Had another crazy dream.

  288. There's really three parts to this dream. In

  289. the dream, I'll only talk about two because it

  290. really You only need to know about two parts

  291. of it, but in the dream, one of them, there was

  292. this lady who was a part of the ministry we were

  293. at at that time. It doesn't really matter where

  294. it was, but she was, she was cantankerous and

  295. she was difficult to get along with, but. So

  296. in this the first part of the dream the Lord

  297. had showed me an interaction with her and So

  298. she came in through this one particular door

  299. and had this look on her face and I'm like, oh

  300. boy This is gonna be fun. And she said blah blah

  301. blah to me and I didn't really like what she

  302. had to say But then I responded in a certain

  303. way in this dream and it was not how I normally

  304. would respond especially to her saying that I

  305. normally would have not responded that way but

  306. then her response was it was absolutely beautiful

  307. so I'm thinking okay I'm gonna remember this

  308. because this there's got to be something to this

  309. in the second part of it was about a lady by

  310. the name of Jane she was a part of our ministry

  311. there And in the thing she came in and she said,

  312. hey, this is what's going on in my life. She

  313. was in my office. She describes this entire thing.

  314. And I'm like, OK, that's awesome. We won't talk

  315. about the third part. Those two parts I want

  316. to talk about just for a second. So I think that's

  317. from the Lord, right? I think that that's revelation.

  318. So what do I do with it? I said, I need to understand

  319. what this means. Tell me what I'm supposed to

  320. do with it, when I'm supposed to do that. So

  321. the Lord said to me, he said, OK, here's what

  322. I want you to do. The first part of it is going

  323. to happen very soon. And what you need to know

  324. about it is, I want you to respond the way that

  325. you did in that dream, because the outcome will

  326. be what I've showed you if you'll respond the

  327. way that you did. So I'm like, OK, I got it.

  328. I said, the second part, what am I supposed to

  329. do with that? And he said to me, he's like, Phil,

  330. I want you to shut your mouth about it. I'll

  331. tell you when the time is right. So I asked,

  332. I said, can I tell Danita about that? And he

  333. said, you may tell Danita about that. Awesome.

  334. I said, can I write the details down in my journal?

  335. And he said, yes, you may write them down in

  336. your journal. But beyond those two places, you

  337. don't talk about it with anyone until I tell

  338. you to. Got it. So you see how this all fits

  339. to that. Revelation. interpretation, application.

  340. So I'm like, got it, third part we're not going

  341. to talk about. So about two weeks later, that

  342. lady who I had this dream about, she walks in

  343. through that door with that look on her face.

  344. And I'm like, oh boy, this is going to be fun.

  345. And she said exactly what she said in my dream,

  346. word for word, with the same look on her face.

  347. It felt the way that it did in my dream and I'm

  348. like, okay, but I also remembered what the Lord

  349. said So I knew how I was supposed to respond

  350. And I did I said exactly what I said in the dream

  351. Same inflection same pauses. I said it the exact

  352. same way I did in the dream and you'll never

  353. believe what happened She responded exactly like

  354. I saw her respond in the dream. And I'm like,

  355. huh, that's crazy. What is that? That's the prophetic.

  356. Revelation, interpretation, application. So the

  357. second part, it's two years after this dream.

  358. And that lady in the dream, she called me one

  359. day and she said, hey, I'm driving around in

  360. the county. and I need to come talk to you, which

  361. was not normal for her. In fact, I don't think

  362. she had ever had anything like that ever with

  363. us. She just was a very sweet lady, very kind,

  364. but never really needed anything from me. She

  365. just kind of did her thing. So she called and

  366. she was obviously upset. She said, I need to

  367. come in and see you. And I said, hey, that's

  368. not a problem. When do you want to come in? She

  369. said, I'll come in in about 15 minutes. I said,

  370. hey, that's awesome. I'll look forward to seeing

  371. you. So she comes in. She sits down in my office.

  372. And she just loses it. She's sobbing. She said,

  373. I don't even know where to begin. And I said,

  374. how about you not? How about I tell you why you're

  375. here? And continuing to sob, she said, you never

  376. guessed this about me. I said, I understand that.

  377. But I said, hey, on this particular date, the

  378. Lord spoke to me in a dream and he told me that

  379. you're going to come and see me someday. And

  380. he told me what it was going to be about. So

  381. I grabbed my journal still in my office, by the

  382. way. So if you ever want to see it, don't bother

  383. asking. You can't. It's none of your business.

  384. But I grabbed it off the shelf and I took my

  385. journal. I opened it up to that day because I

  386. know what it is, right? I know what the date

  387. is because of 9 -11. I opened up my journal and

  388. I slid it across the desk to her and I said,

  389. that's what you're here to tell me. And she said,

  390. that's word for word what I'm here to tell you.

  391. Well, what is that? That's revelation, interpretation,

  392. application. So then she said the craziest thing

  393. to me ever. So like I've had this for two years

  394. and she reads it and she said, are you going

  395. to treat me differently now? And I laughed. And

  396. I said, have I treated you poorly in two years?

  397. No, you've not treated me poorly once. So let

  398. me get this straight. I've known this for two

  399. years. I've not treated you poorly in two years.

  400. Why would I treat you poorly now? She said, I

  401. suppose you wouldn't. And the fact that somebody

  402. knew and still loved her and extended grace to

  403. her was all that she needed to then close that

  404. chapter of her life and begin a new one, which

  405. was much better. So that's this revelation application,

  406. revelation interpretation application. Does that

  407. all make sense? So here we go. the office of

  408. prophet and the gift of prophecy. The gift of

  409. prophecy is a supernatural ability given by the

  410. Holy Spirit to speak a timely word from God that

  411. encourages, strengthens, and comforts others.

  412. Those last three words are the most important.

  413. That encourages, strengthens, and comforts others.

  414. So like sometimes people will say this is another

  415. place that we get into abuse of the prophetic.

  416. Sometimes people will say hey I have this word

  417. from the Lord for you. And basically the word

  418. from the Lord for you you're a scumbag and God's

  419. really mad at you well that's not prophetic that

  420. automatically just categorically can't be prophetic

  421. because that's not what the prophetic does God

  422. doesn't speak to somebody else and say okay by

  423. the way I want you I want you to go tell mark

  424. that he's a scumbag God is never going to tell

  425. you that it's not ever gonna tell you that right

  426. If that makes sense, go like this. God is not

  427. ever going to do that. So like if you have this

  428. message that you hear and you think is from God

  429. and that that message is, I want you to go tell

  430. Mark that he's a scumbag. I'm telling you right

  431. now, that's the enemy. That's not bad mustard.

  432. That's not God. That's the enemy. So please don't

  433. ever say, hey, God gave me this word and I need

  434. to tell you this. And God's really ticked at

  435. you and you're a scumbag. Don't ever do that.

  436. Because that's the abuse of the prophetic now

  437. if the word is hey mark. I just want to encourage

  438. you I know it's tough right now But God sent

  439. me here to tell you you're gonna get through

  440. this and I just want to encourage you I want

  441. to build you up. I want to comfort you God's

  442. up to something. I don't understand all that's

  443. going on, but God's gonna be faithful You're

  444. gonna see another day now that very well could

  445. be God, right? But categorically if it's not

  446. one of those three things, it's not God Right.

  447. I mean, yeah. Right. No, don't do that. And stop

  448. eating the bad bratwurst before bed. I mean,

  449. please stop doing that. So a prophet is a person

  450. called by Jesus to a leadership office within

  451. the fivefold ministry. This is not merely the

  452. ability to prophesy, but a recognized governmental

  453. role in the body of Christ. So really, I like

  454. the thing up at the top. The gift is available

  455. to all. The office is a calling. So the gift

  456. is for all. The office requires a call, right?

  457. Easy enough. So prophetic identity and character

  458. rooted in love. So here's another place. Unfortunately,

  459. the prophets are kind of, they all have some

  460. pitfalls, and I talked about some of those with

  461. the apostles, but here's another one with the

  462. prophets. So especially with the prophetic, and

  463. you probably have run into somebody like this.

  464. So they will go around and they kind of wear

  465. that as their identification. That's their ID.

  466. That's what they identify as. So they'll come

  467. in and say, well, I am a prophet. Well, okay.

  468. Be very careful with that. Because we should

  469. not ever be identified by the gift that we've

  470. been given. We should always be identified as

  471. we're a son or a daughter of God. That's our

  472. identity and we have to keep that straight. We

  473. can't ever say our identity is I'm a prophet

  474. our identity is I'm an apostle No, it's not you're

  475. a child of God and he's given you a gift. Let

  476. me give you an example of that. So when I was

  477. eight years old I had been riding around a Dukes

  478. of Hazzard bike that I could tell you all about.

  479. It was pretty amazing. I shouldn't really spend

  480. a whole lot of time, especially on camera, talking

  481. about the Dukes of Hazzard bike, but everything

  482. that you would think it looked like it was. the

  483. seat was a Confederate flag, I mean the entire

  484. deal. And it was the same colors that General

  485. Lee and when I got it, it had training wheels

  486. on it. It was those kind of bikes that you could

  487. eventually take the training wheels off and then

  488. you could ride the bike and I did. And that's

  489. what I learned to ride a bike on, is this Dukes

  490. of Hazzard bike. But it was a little, little,

  491. little, little bike. And for Christmas that year,

  492. I asked for one thing. I wanted a red BMX bike.

  493. Those were really the only criteria that I wanted

  494. had to be read and it had to be a BMX bike So

  495. for Christmas that year to my sheer delight.

  496. I got lots of great stuff, but I got a red BMX

  497. bike and I could tell you all about it. I mean

  498. there was there were boot prints in the snow,

  499. and I don't know how they got there, and it just

  500. really did look like it was a magical thing.

  501. But I ended up with a red BMX bike for Christmas

  502. when I was eight years old. But I didn't then

  503. identify as being a red BMX bike. It was probably

  504. one of the greatest Christmas gifts I've ever

  505. received, but I didn't go around saying, I'm

  506. a red BMX bike. Because that's foolish. I'm still

  507. a son. And that's my identity. Just because I

  508. was given a gift doesn't change my identity from

  509. something other than being a son. Does that make

  510. sense? So if God has called you to be a prophet,

  511. that's awesome. The church embraces that. We

  512. celebrate that. We want to release you to do

  513. that. The church needs you to do that. But you

  514. don't go around saying that I am a prophet. No,

  515. it's just the gift that you've been given. And

  516. you've been given that gift for the General good

  517. of the body of Christ, but just like I wouldn't

  518. go around saying I am a red BMX bike Don't go

  519. around saying you are a prophet Does that make

  520. sense your identity is the fact that you're a

  521. child of God Prophetic purity that it means that

  522. there's no mixture of personal agendas So when

  523. we're in this role, we just have to hear what

  524. God says and speak that to other people. We shouldn't

  525. have an agenda. Like if I've had a dream that

  526. Mark's a scumbag, I haven't by the way. I probably

  527. need to move on to a different example because

  528. Mark's gonna start to wonder here. But if I had

  529. this dream, but then God speaks to me about Mark,

  530. I can't mix those two together. I have to keep

  531. my personal stuff out of it. I have no business

  532. reflecting in any way what I think. Are you following

  533. me? So in that role, the only thing that matters

  534. is this is what God said, and I want you to know

  535. what God thinks about you and how God feels about

  536. you. And it's always going to be to encourage,

  537. to build up, to comfort. Always. If I feel like

  538. I'm supposed to say anything else, I can automatically,

  539. categorically say, that is not God. I'm preaching

  540. a whole lot better than you're responding. No

  541. mixture of personal agendas, culture of honor,

  542. operating with humility and submission to leadership.

  543. An example of that is David and Nathan. Nathan

  544. obviously was the prophet. God has a message

  545. from, Nathan receives a message from God to give

  546. to David. And this is a great example because,

  547. here's what I want you to see now. So how are

  548. we talking about culture of honor? We've always

  549. said that it's always positive. It's never negative.

  550. God always is encouraging. He's comforting. He's

  551. supporting you. So David and Nathan, how in the

  552. world is that the case? Like how many of you

  553. look at that and be like, I'm not sure we're

  554. talking the same thing because that seems like

  555. God's upset with David and Nathan's the one who's

  556. supposed to come and drop this bombshell for

  557. David? A couple things. First of all, Want you

  558. to notice that when Nathan the prophet comes

  559. to David he does so one -on -one He doesn't get

  560. up in front of the entire body of Christ and

  561. be like, you know what? I'm just gonna tell all

  562. the social media I'm gonna tell all the social

  563. media what a bum this person is and I'm not gonna

  564. get on social media and say I know that David's

  565. our King I know that he's a man after God's own

  566. heart not that I said that God said that but

  567. I'm telling you right now Everybody needs to

  568. know this dude the bum because that's not a culture

  569. of honor, right? It's not a culture of honor.

  570. And as you read through that passage, one of

  571. the things that's incredibly clear is that God

  572. was a, he was, he wanted restoration. He wanted

  573. to bring David back to himself. He wanted him

  574. to repent so there could be a turning. All of

  575. that is for David's good. None of that's to do

  576. David harm. All of that is because God loves

  577. David, he values him, he wants a relationship

  578. with him, and he wants to bring him back to himself.

  579. If you understand that, go like this. But one

  580. of the main things is it's done one -on -one,

  581. not in a way that's gonna make him look bad in

  582. front of everybody else. Everyone doesn't need

  583. to know that David's a bum, right? But he does

  584. need to hear this because... God wants to bring

  585. him back into relationship with him because he

  586. values David. David has significance to him.

  587. Does that make sense? Culture of honor. So how

  588. does God speak? Visions, dreams, scripture, inner

  589. impressions. How many of you have had at least

  590. one of those? God's spoken to you in some way

  591. through one of those. So what do I mean by that?

  592. How many of you have had a vision? Two different

  593. kinds of visions. Open vision. So sometimes we

  594. would call that daydreaming. Not all daydreaming

  595. is a prophetic word amen Just so that we're clear

  596. but sometimes God is speaking to you in a daydream

  597. so like you're you're awake But you you see something

  598. there's something and all sudden something makes

  599. sense and you have no other reason to To understand

  600. that other than God spoke to you and you're like,

  601. huh? That's what that is. That's an open vision

  602. closed vision is just another word for a dream

  603. So open vision, you're awake, closed vision,

  604. you're in a dream. So scripture, how many people

  605. have ever had God speak to you through scripture?

  606. You're reading along and you're like, holy smokes!

  607. That's me! Holy smokes! Well, that's the prophetic

  608. because God's speaking to you. Now one of the

  609. nice things about scripture is how many of you

  610. know that it's not very hard to interpret that

  611. point? Because the but it's not that you've read

  612. the Bible the Bible just read you and you're

  613. like, yeah, that's me Bless you Whether you like

  614. it or not. God just I mean the Bible read you

  615. also inner impressions So word of knowledge a

  616. great book if you want to know more about this

  617. specifically Randy Clark has a book called word

  618. of knowledge If you are interested in more of

  619. that and get Randy Clark's book, I highly recommend

  620. it because it goes through all of them. So just

  621. a few of them are seeing, hearing, feeling. I've

  622. experienced all of those. One that I've not experienced,

  623. a friend of mine actually reads stuff on people,

  624. and it would freak me out. I think I'd wet my

  625. pants if God ever did that. I mean, I'm open

  626. to it. If that's what the Lord wants, I'm fine

  627. with it, but it would probably freak me out.

  628. And here's what I mean specifically. So like

  629. if, if he, If the Lord's speaking to him that

  630. so -and -so has lung cancer in their left lung,

  631. part of the way that the Lord speaks to him is

  632. he'll actually see the word cancer written on

  633. their left lung. Like I've never experienced

  634. that, but some people do. Now, does he have any

  635. way of coming up with that on his own other than

  636. God speaking to him that way? No. So then, okay,

  637. is this revelation? Well, if this is revelation,

  638. what am I supposed to do with it? What does this

  639. mean? Am I supposed to say something to somebody

  640. or am I supposed to just pray for them? Because

  641. sometimes that's the answer and you just have

  642. to follow all of that stuff. Seer, knower, or

  643. a feeler. So some people see things. They see

  644. them in visions. They see things. How many of

  645. you would say that you're a seer in that sense?

  646. that God gives you open visions, closed visions,

  647. those kind of things. You see it in some sense,

  648. whether you're physical eyes or you're spiritual

  649. eyes, seers. How many of you are more along the

  650. lines of knowers? So like we talked about this

  651. a little bit ago, you just know things. And if

  652. I ask you, how do you know that? I don't know.

  653. I just know. How many of you are more knowers?

  654. Any knowers? How many of you are feelers? You

  655. know that something's wrong. How do I know that

  656. something's wrong? I just feel it. Something's

  657. just not right. Well, how do you know that? I

  658. don't know. An example of that. Danita and I

  659. started a heaven -trained ministry when we were

  660. in Lorain County. So we took Phil Batten's stuff,

  661. and you all know Phil Batten. Most of you know

  662. Phil Batten. If you don't, we've talked about

  663. him in this series. But Phil was like a father

  664. to me. I loved Phil. Phil loved me. We would

  665. have a lot of fun together. I would teach on

  666. Heaven Train a lot, especially in the later part

  667. of Phil's life because he wasn't up to it. And

  668. I had so much fun getting up there saying, I

  669. am Pastor Phil. And they would say, no, you're

  670. not. He's Pastor Phil. And I'm like, no, I'm

  671. Pastor Phil. And just so much fun with all of

  672. that because I'm like, no, seriously, here's

  673. my driver's license. I am Pastor Phil. He's also

  674. Pastor Phil. It was just weird. But anyways,

  675. so we started a heaven train in Lorain County

  676. and we took basically the same stuff that he

  677. was doing. We even used his bus for a couple

  678. years until we built our own. But we used a lot

  679. of that stuff. And a lot of the principles that

  680. we used were exactly what Phil did. And one of

  681. those principles was this. So when I was with

  682. Phil in Cleveland, if Phil felt something was

  683. off, that it didn't matter. He didn't owe me

  684. an explanation. I didn't want him to explain

  685. things, because if he's just like, something's

  686. off, and he said, this is what we need to do,

  687. then we just did it. We didn't want to waste

  688. time and say, explain to me, what are you talking

  689. about? Because we just, okay, whatever that means,

  690. we'll figure that out later. We're gonna do what

  691. we need to do right now. So that was one of the

  692. principles that we borrowed from Cleveland Heaven

  693. Train. And one of our stops, was in Illyria,

  694. and I pulled in with the bus, and I'm like, something's

  695. just off. It's just off. I can't look at anything

  696. and say, okay, it's this particular thing. They

  697. aren't selling drugs on that particular day.

  698. They're not selling drugs over here. I don't

  699. see anything that's, but something's off. So

  700. I make one trip around and I caught our team

  701. and I said, hey listen I'm gonna make one more

  702. trip around Just to let people know we're here

  703. and then we're gonna park and I want to be in

  704. and gone in five minutes So they're like, okay,

  705. we're in and gone in five minutes They didn't

  706. ask me for an explanation. They just knew that

  707. I knew something felt wrong and we were gonna

  708. be there and gone in five minutes, which meant

  709. we had to get people on the bus, we had to do

  710. a short lesson, we needed to pray for them, and

  711. we needed to give them food, because those are

  712. the bottom line requirements of Heaven Train.

  713. You get them on the bus, you teach them something,

  714. you pray for them, and you feed them, every time.

  715. No exceptions. So like five minutes, that doesn't

  716. give us a whole lot of time. So we get all the

  717. kids on the bus, we do our thing, we say our

  718. prayer, we get them off the bus, we feed them,

  719. and we're gone in five minutes. And at what would

  720. have been six minutes, there was a police pursuit

  721. through that neighborhood at speeds of 140 miles

  722. an hour. And they ended up, we parked at a T

  723. intersection, the bus was here in this intersection.

  724. dead -ended into where the bus was at. So that

  725. pursuit ended in the house just beyond where

  726. our bus was parked. So if we had not, if we had

  727. been there a minute later, that pursuit would

  728. have ended up hitting the bus and probably killing

  729. the people we were there to serve. How did I

  730. know something was off? I just felt it. I don't

  731. know. Just something's not right. We're gonna

  732. get out of here. We're gonna do what we need

  733. to do, but we're getting out of here. Are you

  734. following me? Does that make sense? So we are

  735. always supposed to weigh prophecy. First Thessalonians

  736. 521, test everything, hold fast to that, which

  737. is good. Just because you have a sense of something

  738. doesn't mean that it's prophetic, does not mean

  739. that it's from God. So how do you know if it's

  740. from God? You test everything. And that way you're

  741. gonna know, okay, that's bad brought worst, or

  742. that's the enemy, or that is God. and then you

  743. can do what you need to accordingly. But we test

  744. everything. Don't just go blast somebody because

  745. you think that this is from God. So they really

  746. need to hear this. So I'm just going to go tell

  747. them what a dirty rotten scoundrel they are.

  748. Don't do that. Test it. Make sure that it's from

  749. Him. Practical tips use encouraging language

  750. edify exhort comfort avoid directive prophecy

  751. marriage relocation unless in a mature setting

  752. I almost just want to say just avoid that across

  753. the board For the most part 95 % of the people

  754. just you just need to avoid that altogether You

  755. know like all that makes sense right so those

  756. kind of details don't speak about it It says

  757. in a mature setting. So that means that you're

  758. mature as a prophet in that office and that means

  759. that the person you're talking to is mature.

  760. So the odds of both of those being true aren't

  761. very good. So probably for the most part just

  762. avoid those kind of things. Don't say thus says

  763. the Lord lightly. I want you to notice how that's

  764. put. Obviously the prophetic is one of the things

  765. that the Lord has gifted me with. In the entire

  766. time that the Lord's used me to speak prophetic

  767. words, I think maybe two or three times ever

  768. I've actually used that phrase. The only times

  769. I've used that phrase is when I'm absolutely

  770. 110 % certain that this is what God said. I prefer

  771. to say things like, could it be that this is

  772. what God's saying. Well, why do I like that?

  773. Because it still leaves room for the fact that

  774. I could be wrong. I could have gotten this wrong

  775. because we're human, right? I mean, we're not

  776. perfect. So it could be that it could be bad

  777. bratwurst. Like I could do all the stuff and

  778. it still could be that I had bad bratwurst. I

  779. didn't, by the way, in case you're wondering.

  780. So Edify, did you know this? I'm a biblical language

  781. nerd. The word that's used in the Bible for edify,

  782. like we're supposed to edify people, did you

  783. know that the word literally translated means

  784. to put a roof on it? Did you know that? So, like

  785. Mark's not a scumbag. I've picked on him so much.

  786. I love you Mark, right? Like I love you Mark.

  787. Mark's not a scumbag. So instead, if I wanted

  788. to edify Mark, what I do is I find out what God's

  789. doing, what he's speaking into, what God's currently

  790. up to in Mark's life, and I put a roof on that.

  791. I give that space. I make much of that. I say,

  792. hey, let's just take a moment to think about

  793. this. This is what God's up to. That's putting

  794. a roof on it. That protects it. That gives it

  795. space that says this is significant that this

  796. is important That's to edify it could edify it

  797. could encourage encourage is just to strengthen

  798. or Literally the word encourage means to put

  799. in courage So like one of the one of my pet peeves

  800. is when people will say things like I want to

  801. encourage you But but you just kicked me in the

  802. teeth So how in the world am I supposed to be

  803. encouraged by that? I'm not encouraged by that

  804. So if we're going to encourage people that means

  805. that I put in courage That means that hey, I

  806. understand that you're going through something

  807. tough, but I want to put in courage I want you

  808. I want to put into you what it's gonna take for

  809. you to do What needs to be done even the midst

  810. of difficulty that's to put in courage. That's

  811. encouragement So if they don't feel more courageous

  812. after you've given them the encouragement That's

  813. not encouragement So if somebody's been like

  814. if you've encouraged somebody They ought to be

  815. like, you know what? I can leap tall buildings

  816. with a single bound. I can't stop a speeding

  817. bullet because you encouraged them and I want

  818. to challenge you with this So like in all of

  819. our conversations when we're like, I want to

  820. encourage them. Let that be the standard Did

  821. you put in courage? And if you didn't that's

  822. okay, but don't call it encouragement Is that

  823. fair? So that's encouragement. The last one is

  824. to comfort You all know what that means so some

  825. protocols permission based prophecy always ask

  826. first That's simple enough, right? So in the

  827. realm of the prophetic You should just always

  828. ask, would it be okay with you if I fill in the

  829. blank and get their permission? Easy enough,

  830. right? Permission based. Number two, confidentiality

  831. and honor. Avoid public embarrassment. Simple

  832. enough, right? So Nathan and David. Nathan didn't

  833. come to David. He didn't get on social media

  834. and be like, I want you to know that our King

  835. is an absolute loser. This guy is a bum. Thus

  836. says the Lord. Why? Because that brings public

  837. embarrassment. The prophetic should never be

  838. done in a way that embarrasses the people who

  839. you're trying to encourage. Because how do you

  840. put encourage if you've embarrassed them? Right?

  841. So the last part of it is, this is the one thing,

  842. like if you've been in classes with me, Adele

  843. will know this, I make people say this, I don't

  844. know, probably 20 ,000 times, always positive,

  845. never negative, that's what that line means,

  846. always positive, never negative. So we talk about

  847. prophetic, we've done prayer ministry classes

  848. here, how many times did you have to say that?

  849. Always positive, never negative, always positive,

  850. never negative. And anytime I teach on it, I'll

  851. make people say always positive, never negative,

  852. just so I can say that that's always true. Say

  853. that with me. Always positive, never negative,

  854. always positive, never negative. So. Always positive,

  855. never negative. So if you're going to operate

  856. in the prophetic, you're always positive, never

  857. negative. Does that mean that God doesn't show

  858. you negative things? Sure, he does. But what

  859. do you do with that if the Lord shows you negative

  860. things? Well, you can pray about it That's what

  861. I would encourage you to do with it spend lots

  862. of time praying about it and Ask the Lord. How

  863. could I make this redemptive? How can how can

  864. this be a positive in their life and until you

  865. have that? Clarified keep your mouth shut Never

  866. say anything negative How many of you got up

  867. this morning and you're like, you know what I

  868. hope happens today? I hope I go to church and

  869. I hope somebody just like airs all of my laundry

  870. and they tell me every negative aspect of who

  871. I am and my identity and how I'm living. I just

  872. hope that someone will do that for me today.

  873. No one, right? But I bet somebody got up this

  874. morning and said, you know what, I hope that

  875. I have somebody speak something kind into me

  876. today. Always positive, never negative. Always

  877. positive, never negative. Submission to authority

  878. aligned with spiritual leadership. So that's

  879. just simple enough, right? So we all need to

  880. submit to one another. We have mutual submission

  881. to one another. So it's always dangerous, regardless

  882. of the one that we're talking about. Today we're

  883. talking about prophets, but it's always dangerous

  884. when we operate outside of authority, right?

  885. So God has direct authority and he has delegated

  886. authority. Which one's most important to him?

  887. It's a trick question. They're both important

  888. to him. So what do I mean by direct authority?

  889. God has every right to say to you, hey, I want

  890. you to do X, Y, Z. And you know what you should

  891. probably go do? You should probably go do X,

  892. Y, Z. Should you do X, Z, Y? No, I would suggest

  893. you do X, Y, Z. Because there's a reason that

  894. he said I want you to go do XYZ Do you have to

  895. understand why he said I want you to do XYZ Does

  896. he owe you an explanation? No, you just go do

  897. what he said So God has direct authority, but

  898. God also has delegated authority and in delegated

  899. authority God puts people in our life Who have

  900. authority over us? maybe that's a Sponsor maybe

  901. that's a coach maybe that's a pastor, maybe it

  902. doesn't matter who it is, but God puts people

  903. in authority in our life over us. And when he's

  904. put those people in delegated authority over

  905. us, and they say to us, I want you to go do X,

  906. Y, Z, they get, guess what we should do? You

  907. should probably go do X, Y, Z. There are two

  908. exceptions. If the person asks you to do something

  909. that's illegal or immoral, don't do it. But if

  910. it's not illegal or immoral, you probably should

  911. do what they ask you to do. Amen? You should

  912. probably be under authority. Now, if they're

  913. telling you, I want you to go rob a bank, you

  914. don't need to pray about that. You don't need

  915. to delegate authority. Delivery is as important

  916. as the word itself. One of our assignments, not

  917. the one you're thinking of, but a different one,

  918. had this sweet lady who operated in the prophetic,

  919. and she went and... she just Blasted this person.

  920. I mean all the always positive never negative

  921. She just checked it all at the door and she's

  922. like no I'm gonna go in both barrels blazing

  923. and I'm gonna give it to them and What she said?

  924. Was absolutely true She was right how she said

  925. it was immoral So obviously it blew up in her

  926. face and she came to me and she's like, I don't

  927. understand what went wrong here. And I said,

  928. hey, listen, what you said is absolutely true.

  929. I won't dispute that with you and the person

  930. that you spoke that to won't dispute that with

  931. you. That's absolutely true. But how you went

  932. about saying that was harmful. does not reflect

  933. Jesus at all. And she's like, yeah, that's true.

  934. So what do I do? Well, you're gonna need to start

  935. by apologizing. Because not only did you make

  936. yourself look bad, you made God look bad. So

  937. you need to start with that, and she's like,

  938. yeah, you're right. How you say it is just as

  939. important as what you say. So, like, you can

  940. be always positive, never negative, and the delivery

  941. of how you say it is just as important as what

  942. the word is itself. That makes sense, right?

  943. Alright, so some instructions. Keep it short,

  944. sharp, to the point. 30 to 50 seconds. Shiny

  945. and positive. Don't add to or try to interpret

  946. what you see or hear. Stay true to what the Holy

  947. Spirit says or shows. Don't add to it. Don't

  948. take away from it. One example. Not one of mine,

  949. but a friend of mine had a open vision about

  950. an injury that took place They were using in

  951. the context of healing so they're gonna pray

  952. for somebody in the room and he describes what

  953. the Lord showed to him and The long and short

  954. of it was this there was a he showed them this

  955. hose that was drawn across the floor and somebody

  956. caught their foot on it and he described all

  957. of that stuff and fell down they had injury to

  958. their leg into their face and to their their

  959. arm, their right arm. So they're like, OK, the

  960. Lord gave me this picture and they're trying

  961. to describe the entire thing. And he said, and

  962. it was a garden hose. It was an orange garden

  963. hose. Well, the Lord didn't say that it was a

  964. garden hose. He just interpreted it as a garden

  965. hose. So they're like, there's nobody here. They

  966. couldn't find anybody. After everything was done,

  967. somebody came up and said, you know, it's the

  968. craziest thing. because you described the entire

  969. thing of what happened to me to a T except for

  970. you said that they tripped over an orange garden

  971. hose and that was me except for I tripped over

  972. an orange air hose and they missed the opportunity

  973. to to be ministered to because he added that

  974. it was a garden hose because that was the only

  975. hose that he could think of and what he should

  976. have said was you tripped over an orange hose

  977. Because that's all it was. It was just a hose.

  978. He didn't know that it was a garden hose. Are

  979. you following me? So that detail was something

  980. that he added, which threw somebody off. If you

  981. just see a hose, just say that it's a hose. If

  982. you hear that it was just a hose, just say that

  983. it's a hose. Don't add it was a garden hose.

  984. Some pitfalls and maturity common pitfalls are

  985. offense isolation spiritual pride and performance

  986. mentality See how we get there, right? We start

  987. to say things like I am a prophet. No, you're

  988. a child of God And he's just gifted you with

  989. that and it's no different than I'm not a red

  990. BMX bike Just because at some point I was given

  991. a red BMX bike. I'm still a child of God And

  992. he's just gifted me with these things It's not

  993. anyways Let's go on. Mature profits, walking,

  994. humility, accountability, fruits of the spirit,

  995. prophetic communities. Really, it's true of all

  996. the fivefold, but profits especially need to

  997. hear this. So you know what profits really need?

  998. They need other profits. they need to hang around

  999. with other prophets and you'd have enough of

1000. a relationship with other prophets that other

1001. prophets can mentor them and help them and sharpen

1002. them and and say hey what you said that was good

1003. how you said it that was terrible and so I don't

1004. want you what you said was true that's good so

1005. I want to commend you for hearing from God and

1006. then and saying it but would encourage you to

1007. work on how you said it because that was that

1008. was hurtful and harmful and nobody needs that

1009. Future resources here's just some other stuff

1010. if you want to look at the list you're welcome

1011. to afterwards Just remind me I'll show it to

1012. you. So here's we're gonna wrap up very quickly

1013. so we want to identify Our identities in Christ

1014. sensitive to the Holy Spirit and courage to speak

1015. truth One of the things that I think is true

1016. about the prophetic, everyone can prophesy, right?

1017. Everyone can prophesy, not everyone's a prophet.

1018. So what I mean by that, everyone can hear the

1019. voice of God and then say, this is what I heard

1020. him say. Everyone can. Scripture speaks about

1021. it over and over again. We can all hear the voice

1022. of, Jesus said this, my sheep know my voice.

1023. What does that mean? If you're in relationship

1024. with him today, you know his voice. I didn't

1025. say that, he said that. So we know his voice

1026. we can hear his voice and then we can say to

1027. somebody else This is what I heard him say. We're

1028. all capable of that. That doesn't make us all

1029. prophets So we we're gonna give you the opportunity

1030. to do that in a second But here's the thing that

1031. I want you to think about any time you take the

1032. posture to bless somebody else Any time you take

1033. the posture to bless somebody else, you know,

1034. what's gonna happen? God's gonna use you to bless

1035. them So this week's a prime example. The Big

1036. Sur, if you know what we did? We just took a

1037. posture to bless. And you know what happened?

1038. People were blessed. Because we took a posture

1039. to say, we just want to be an encouragement to

1040. you. We just want to bless you. That's it. We

1041. don't have an agenda. We ask for nothing in exchange.

1042. We just want to bless you. And I think that's

1043. true across the board. When we take that posture,

1044. he always will show up. Encouragement and growth,

1045. join prophetic teams, continue journaling, seek

1046. mentorship. So last two slides, maybe. Did I

1047. turn it off? No. So here's what we're gonna do

1048. in a second. Quiet your heart, ask God for a

1049. word or picture for somebody. Hearing God, encouragement,

1050. prophecy. So if journaling is always a good thing

1051. to do, keep track of what you're hearing God

1052. say, and then practice delivering the word in

1053. humility and love. So we're gonna come back to

1054. that in just a second. This is so small, you're

1055. probably gonna struggle to read it. If you wanna

1056. see a copy of it, or if you want me to email

1057. one to you, I just want you to see how this all

1058. can fit in the bigger picture. So this... I spent

1059. months trying to come up with a systematic plan

1060. of how all this would fit together and then I

1061. ran into a guy by the name of Ken Blue. Ken Blue,

1062. he put this together and he even talks about

1063. the fact that he did it like in an afternoon

1064. and he did it in an afternoon what it took me

1065. like months to figure out a way to do and then

1066. it takes me weeks to communicate it. That's the

1067. Blue Prayer model and I absolutely love it. This

1068. is kind of a systematic approach that you can

1069. use to pray for anybody. It covers just about

1070. everything. What we're talking about is really

1071. step one and two. So come Holy Spirit. I would

1072. suggest that a good way to pray for anybody is

1073. just that simple prayer, right? Come Holy Spirit.

1074. We started the service by talking about invite.

1075. Do you remember these? Exalt. Surrender. Embrace.

1076. So that's invite. come Holy Spirit. The second

1077. one is the power of a blessing, where it's listening

1078. for and speaking a blessing. So that's really

1079. the prophetic in a nutshell. And I think that

1080. every time we have the opportunity to pray with

1081. someone and minister to them, I think that we

1082. always start with an element of the prophetic.

1083. Holy Spirit come because they don't need to hear

1084. what you think. They need to hear what Holy Spirit

1085. thinks. And you're not going to know that. unless

1086. you invite and exalt and surrender. So blessing,

1087. so really that's all we're gonna focus on, but

1088. I want you to see how this fits in the bigger

1089. picture. So diagnosis and strategy, you have

1090. an interview to make a tentative diagnosis and

1091. determine a prayer strategy. The next step is

1092. the empowered prayer. You pray in faith, pray

1093. in the name of Jesus, pray with authority. Pray

1094. with tenderness and compassion. Pray with discernment

1095. and with watchfulness. Some do nots. Do not shout.

1096. Do not be aggressive. Do not give personal prophecies.

1097. The next step, ask for direction. The second

1098. interview, to redirect the prayer, sealing the

1099. works. You're just asking the Holy Spirit to

1100. take what has been done and to seal it. and to

1101. protect it and post -prayer counsel. So it doesn't

1102. really matter what you're praying for. If you're

1103. praying for someone to be healed, that's a great

1104. plan to use. And pray for them, ask them, hey,

1105. what's improved? Can you do anything you couldn't

1106. do before? Pray for them again, ask the Holy

1107. Spirit to seal it, and give them some counsel

1108. after the fact. So we're going to go back to

1109. the last one just for a second. And we're almost,

1110. almost done. Oops, actually I can go forward.

1111. There we go. So here's what we're gonna end with.

1112. And we're gonna sing a song just in a second.

1113. But if you would, I want you to find a partner,

1114. just one partner, groups of two. If you need

1115. to move around, you can. And this is what I want

1116. you to do. I just want you to quiet your heart.

1117. I want you to ask God for a word or a picture

1118. for them. So you can just pray, come Holy Spirit.

1119. And just ask God, what do you want to say to

1120. them? So you're going to be practicing hearing

1121. God. You're going to give them an encouragement

1122. thing that needs to exhort, encourage, or comfort,

1123. right? So if you hear, this guy's a bum. If that's

1124. what you're sensing, that's not God, okay? Just

1125. categorically, it's not God. So come back to

1126. it again, because he's not a bum. That's not

1127. what God says about anybody. So, okay, that's

1128. obviously not God. What is God saying? It's something

1129. that's going to encourage, exhort, or comfort.

1130. And that's what's going to be what you're going

1131. to hear, and then you're just going to practice

1132. delivering that, right? In humility and love,

1133. because God loves them, so we're just going to

1134. lean in to hear his voice about what they want

1135. to say. So I want to give you a moment to do

1136. that, and then just exchange, right? So if you

1137. need to move around, you can do that. Come, Holy

1138. Spirit, what do you want to say to this person?

1139. And then just share that with them. And if that's

1140. something that's encouraging to you, you want

1141. to tell them that it's encouraging, right? Because,

1142. hey, you got this right. So I'll give you a moment

1143. to practice, and then we're going to sing one

1144. more song. But find a partner. Ask the Lord to

1145. invite, exalt, surrender. and share that word

1146. with them and then if it if it encourages you

1147. then make sure you let them know because that

  1148. will encourage them.
