We're still working on our expository teaching and preaching. Thank

Good to see your brother, heymen, Good to see all

of you that are here on today. Expository teaching allows

us the opportunity to be subject to the text, rather

than the text being subject to us. We've been studying

in the Book of Ephesians. The Book of Ephesians really

declares to us the richest that we have that's in

Christ Jesus. Tell your neighbors, say, neighbor, because you have Christ,

you are rich and famous.

Oh God, ily lujah, ily lujah, aly lujah, hallelujah.

You are rich and famous.

This book declares all of the riches that we have

in Christ Jesus and speaks of the mysteries of Christ

and really understanding those mysteries of Christ, that we naturally

have to pray amen to really understand the deftness of

those riches. So he says, pray, when you pray, pray

that you may understand the hope of his calling, that

you may understand the hope of your calling, of the

riches of the inheritance that Christ have invested in us.

And then what is the exceeding greatness of his power

that is in Christ Jesus when he raised him from

the dead.

But we are rich.

This book is extremely rich, and the people that he's

talking to are extremely and abundantly rich. We talked about

him to the God and whom we pray to Mother Johnson,

And we know that the God who is of heaven

and the earth, a man who's the father of every

person that's ever lived, he's able to do exceedingly abundantly

above all ask or think. But the power that's invested,

that's why we don't pray to budd him. That's why

we don't pray a man who the Muslim, they don't

pray it to the Hindu. We don't pay you to

how how because they can't do nothing, they still dead.

But Jesus ishlylujah.

We know he's alive. Because he's alive inside of me. Hallelujah.

Because he lives, I can face tomorrow. Haigllelujah. Because he lives.

We thank God for that. But the rich book. So

today we're going into the Book of Ephesus again, chapter

number four, and we'll be reading in your hearing a

man Versus one through verse number six, Verses one through

verse number six. When you have it, stand on your

feet for the reading of God's word. Hallelujah, hallelujah. I

therefore the prisoner of the Lord. And he says, here,

I beseech you. What he says is that I'm begging,

I'm pleading, I'm persuading with you on this note, that

you understand the richest that God has placed in you.

He says, I beseech you that ye want walk worthy

of the vocation where with you are called. And then

it said, it's the way you walk, how with all

loneliness and meekness, with long suffering for bearing one another

in love. And verse number three he says endeavoring to

keep the unity of the spirit in the bund of peace,

and declares there is one body, one spirit, even as

you are called in one hope of your calling. There

is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and

Father of all, who is above all, through all, and

in you all that we keep the unity of the spirit.

He says, I beseech you that you walk worthy of

the call, worthy of what you have received in Christ Jesus,

that you walk in the worth and the value of

what God called you to be and what God called

you to do. In other words, how do we live

out the life of the Kingdom of God by demonstrating

how God how we should conduct ourselves and our lifestyle

that matches the high value and the glorious nature of

our divine calling. So today my thought is the kingdom

lifestyle of the rich and famous, the kingdom lifestyle of

the rich and famous. Again, how do believers conduct in

lifestyle that matches the value of what God has placed

in us in the glorious nature of this divine calling? Father,

I thank you now for your word, or thank you

for what you're gonna do, what you would say through

these lips of claim, Thank you God for preparing the

hearts of your people to receive your word on today.

So God, we don't have to wait for the batteries.

Or we have an expectation that, by the power of

the Holy Spirit, that you would teach us, lead us,

and guide.

Us in all truth in Jesus' names.

Shout Amen, high five at least three, four, five, six,

seven people and tell him the lifestyle of the rich

and famous, the life style, the lifestyle. You can put

I was I was teasing with my I was teasing

with my wife this morning, and uh, and she said,

you know what if we if I knew that was

the title of the message, then I really we really

could have dressed up, uh to be to be like

rich and look like we rich and famous. I say, listen, today,

I'm kind of dressing like a rapper. Heymen, hey man.

So I decided, you know, I'm gonna wear my bling,

bling hallelujah and all of the things that make it

look like you rich and famous. Sometime them folks read

that stuff. It ain't even real, but it looked like,

you know, you rich and famous. Ah God, hallelujah.

Man.

When I grew up I grew up on a show.

I don't know if any can remember this show, but

the Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous? Anybody else grew

up on that, y'all regarding to your amen, Amen, listen,

y'all see it anyway. It might be a different name,

or you just see it on social media. But the

Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous was a broadcast back

in the day. Roaryn Leech, that's right, broadcast back in

nineteen eighty four to nineteen ninety five. It was a

show that was broadcasts every Saturday. Am I right about it?

Every Saturday?

And let me just tell you, I did not miss

a beat or watching the Lifestyle of the Rich and

Famous because that was something in me that said, you

know what, it won't always be like this. Listen, while

I was watching The Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous,

I got to remind you that I lived in the projects. Hallelujah,

and every now and again every other month, maybe that

perhaps was a possibility that we didn't have no lights.

I don't know if there's somebody you know, I know,

y'all living pretty healthy now, so you know, we used

to store, you know, some candles in our house. Amen, hallelujah.

We had like county y'all thought they were decoration. They

weren't for decorations. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Man, we had them candles

in the house because it may have come a time

that the lights may have went out.

Amen, hallelujah.

Man.

We grew up in a time that listen, we didn't

have the luxury. Can I just be honest with you.

We didn't have the luxury of a wash a machine

and a dryer connection like a connection in the house.

Come on, hallelujah. We didn't have that. But we had

a washer trier. Amen. And every now and again, now

we will.

Tie pillow cases together on our shoulders, me and my brother,

and we will carry it, amen, those clothes to the

lunder mat, so that we could do laundry.

Amen. But that came a time that John, Amen, that

we didn't.

Have no change and Mama didn't have no money, amen,

and so we could not take it to the washing

tier in order to wash our clothes.

But we had something like a parcelain tub, hallelujah.

And then that parcelain tub, come on, hally, we ain't

even have no scrub bood hallelujah. Listen, y'all know that

little thing that spin around the machine saying zoo zou zou. Well, listen,

that thing right there was our feet. Come on, somebody,

hall zouzu zoo. Hallelujah.

That was our washing machine.

And then when we had to ring out the clothes,

you know, one would get one side, y'all remember that

you get. Come on, you get one side of you,

and you hold that one. Come on, hold it like

that right now, you hold, you squeeze, Come on, you

squeeze it out.

Come on, Holly, you have to squeeze that thing out. Man, boy, hallelujah.

Listen, boy, we we had it, but we we didn't

think about it until we seen the lifestyle of the

rich and famous.

We didn't even know we were poor, I said. We

didn't even know we were.

Poor until they started broadcasting stuff on TV.

Hallelujah, Glory the car.

Matter of fact, most of us should have been rich

by now.

All of the stuff and products that people doesn't done

came up with when we ran out of two pace.

Hallelujah.

Well you know, bacon so the hell boy had white teeth,

boy bank so boy, bite with it. All right, it

tastes good. Well, I spitted that quick. Hallelujah. Have to

got for good rents, hallelujah.

Hallelue. We have no scope.

We had pearl water, hallelujah. And now we're talking about Colgate.

They took our money, hallelujah. They owed us black po folks,

ay mon, they owe us the money, and now they

got two pays with bacon. So come on, somebody, hallelujah,

Glory to God, hallelujah. But we grew up in some times, amen,

during those times, and still even still today, some folks

are still struggling because they don't live up to the

par of what we call rich and famous.

That's a dot desired to be so. But we didn't

grow up like that. It's a nigga. I can't remember

of McDonald's growing up. Anybody remember McDonald's.

I mean, y'all so priviley, y'all go out every week,

almost every other day. We had no Taco Bell.

We all remember. Maybe they had because Taco Bell, all

of them was that.

The companies came out in nineteen thirties, nineteen forties, nineteen fifties,

nineteen sixty. I was born in nineteen seventy three. I

never did see McDonald's. I never did see Taco Bell.

I never did see ever see I never did see church.

And Sha, can't I get a witness up?

Come on my old school at man, These young folks

don't understand that. Listen. You don't know how blessed you are, baby, hallelujah.

You don't know how blessed you are until you hear

somebody else's story of the privileges and opportunities that you

have to yourself that we would not privilege to hallelujah,

and you ought to bless the Lord that you didn't

have to go out in the field and chop cotton. Oh, y'all,

you ain't praying, I ain't lying. Come on talking about

the good old dad. There wasn't no good old day.

That was hard old days baby, hallelujah, hallelujah, chopping cotton

and picking cotton. Some of y'all, listen, I was privilege

in my age, so we were making two dollars a day,

twenty dollars a day, two dollars an hour, hallelujah. But

I think some of y'all maybe about fifty cents an hour, hallelujah.

You gotta clap your hands, jump people, hallelujah, hallelujah. And

we worked about ten hours per day, so we made

twenty dollars. And the blessing that we had out in

the field was that one little cloud.

Can I get? It was like one cloud. It was

way over yonder.

But we hope that that cloud will move and block

in the sun for just twenty seconds.

Come on, hallelujah, Glory to God. Listen.

Man. When this show came out, boy, we was we

were living the days and folks had having these challenges.

And and things about fool stamps and snap.

Listen, everybody who's on fool snaps Snap, they don't mean

they're lazy.

Let me tell you that that doesn't mean that they lazy.

Hey man, we needed some food stamps. Can I say

that to you? I say we we didn't just want them,

we do.

You knew we was gonna want them wrong, because you

know y'all still buying them, you know, fifty percent offense

step Come on, come on, come on, come on, that's been.

Going on since you know as today.

I give you a one hundred for fifty yeah, haley lujah,

come on, somebody, well, some of us needed foods down.

Because when we got foods down at the beginning of

the month, bar Listen, we didn't even want nothing from

the refrigerator, but that refrigerator looked like it was Christmas time. Hallelujah,

Glory to God. Ice box just fool, amen. But about

the end of the month, listen, we didn't have nothing

but chicken. That's why we know how to do chicken

and dumblings and chicken and rice.

Chicken is beard.

Come on, somebody, hallelujah, Glory to God. We were still

looking at the front of everybody up there, hallelujah. But

this is what we were looking at, amen, during the

times of the lifestyle of the rich and famous and

the song significant hell because we understand that this show, Amen,

was a narrative that gave us insight into.

What it looked like to live in a nice home.

Come on, some of us lived in rat infested community,

roach infested communities. I grew up in South Dollars, hey

Man burnt train and junction in South Dollars in Sunday,

South and down and the come on, hallelujah, y'all aren't

looking at me like that.

You lived in Greenfero. Come on with similar to that. Hallelujah.

Come on, you you understand what.

Was like not to how wood walls and your walls

were made out of concrete block.

Come on, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Couldn't use no nails, callelujah to hang pictures, you had

to have you didn't have no double stick tape. I

don't know how you did it, super Bowl. I don't

even know if that was our hallelujah, But baby, please,

when we think about the rich and famous, we had

insight of opolite residents. It showed us glamorous lifestyles, showed

us man wealthy celebrities, can I get a witness? Wealthy

entertainers and wealthy athletes. We we we looked at them,

and the truth of the matter is is that we

he emited that stuff. Hallelujah ah. The lifestyle of the

rich and famous. It showcased some things that put an

aspiration and the desire in us of lavish homes. It

showed us how folks could have luxury cars and yachts

and take exotic vacations. And these folks was able to

spend over the top spending on habits of because of

their wealth and so we couldn't hard it because if

we bought anything outside of the building that you know

that Bill suffered, and some of us are still doing

that today at Christmas time. Hey man, you're gonna spend

some money that you know, go to the Life Bill,

go to LPN lt XU or whoever you got to,

go to atmosphere and the ja. Man. But we spent

that money so that we can satisfy the family. For

the truth of the matter is is that it put

us in there, hallelujah. But the lifestyle of the rigin

frame is created a wishing us. I wish I was rich.

I wish I had a nice home. I wish I

had a yacht. Can I get a witness up in here? Hallelujah?

I wish I could pay all of my bills and

not so come.

On, hallelujah, Glory to God.

I wish it drove in us a wish fulfillment the

narrative for us who were just average viewers who grew

up in the projects or grew up with wherever we are.

But we had an insight of what it could be.

Ah Yes showed and created a sense of aspiration and

an ah like wow, Man, and so it led us

to envy what others had.

Hallelujah. So yes, we wanted the homes.

We wanted the car, we wanted the yacht, we wanted

a man, the vacation, we wanted the spending money. Hey man,

we wanted all of those things, hallelujah. We wanted the

small bodies, we wanted the muscular frames. We wanted the

gold teeth and the change. Can I get a witness

up in here? Even on today, not only just on yesterday,

some of us are still looking at TV of the

lifestyle of the rich and famous, and yet we still

want to get what they have.

Hallelujah, Glory to God. But the truth of the matter

is is that.

They had all of those themes, and although they reached

the pinnacle of success and their personal professional and financial success,

yet they did not have they did not obtain the

riches of God's kingdom for kingdom excess. Because the truth

of the matter is is that when we get into

the word of the Lord, the Book of Matthew and

Matthew sixteen and twenty six say, what is it that

a man can gain the whole world?

Oh God, I feel the Holy goost right here yeah, yeah.

You can get all of this stuff and all of

this bling bling hallelujah, hallelujah. But if you don't have Christ,

you don't have anything. Hallelujah. If you ain't coming in

the blood, you don't have anything. If you don't have grace,

you don't have anything. If you don't have the Word,

you don't have anything. So what is it that a

man will gain, uh huh, the yacht, the car, the house,

the money, the value, and yet still lose his soul?

Or what would a man give in exchange for his soul?

You got to understand that when we come down to it,

that even in the generation in which we're living in today,

that there are some folks that's still not healthy in

their virtuality. Matter of fact, they are yet committing suicide hallelujah.

Even though they got the yacht, even though they got

the car, even though they got the jewelry, But yet

they're not emotionally stable, they're not psychologically stable. Come on,

can I get a witness up in here? Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

A money might can buy your happiness, but it came

by your love. Hallelujah. And folks, are loving for love

in all of the wrong places. Hallelujah. Yes, sir, it

can make you rich, but it can't make your healthy.

Hallelujah.

I wish I had somebody up in here. It can

make your rich, but it doesn't necessarily make you wealthy. Hallelujah.

He obtained everything, but yet have lost their souls. Mental

health having is shoes today, emotional help having isshoes today,

social help having issues today, psychological help ivan isshoes today.

The reason for this because they don't have the mindset

to cast down imaginations hallelujah. And even though they're going

through whatever they need to go through, yet they still

have some health issues. And the only way they can

be healed they got to own. They can only be

healed by the blood of Jesus. And that's why Jesus said,

I come for those that are not whole. So you

act like you hoole, you act like you complete, hallelujah,

and you don't realize that you unhealthy hallelujah, because you

don't have me, but because you are unhealthed. He's haid

to ain't come to them that will hold but them

who had.

Needed a physician hallelujah.

And so we got to learn that even in the

situations and what we're going through in life, that if

we could give counsel to any of those who are

yet unhealthy in all of those different aspects, you got

to learn how to cast down imaginations. Can I get

a witness up in here. You won't commit su side

if you cast down the imagination. You won't commit murder.

If you cast down their imagination. You won't be depressed,

if you cast down their imagination. If your cards, I

wish I had somebody, hallelujah.

We gotta cast down my imaginations and every hogh thing

that exalt itself above card and bring it into the

obedience of the world of card high five. Your neighbors say, neighbor,

you gotta cast down some imagination. You gotta cast down

don't care how much money you got. The devil is

still busy.

might have a house, but do you have a home?

It makes a difference to know that you got a

big house and ain't nobody living in that empty house.

your house because ain't nobody else in the room but

empty space.

Tell them to cash down imaginations. You think you need gold,

you think you need silver, you think you need well,

you think you needed what. Yeah, you think these things

make you important. Hallelujah, hallelujah. But the same way you

went up, Oh God, I wish I had somebody up

in here. I say, the same way you went up, hallelujah.

Only thing God had to do is that blow on it. Hallelujah,

and you lose everything. So you whatever God gave you,

you are to give God the praise and the glory. Hallelujah.

I said, whatever God God is giving you, you are

you knew you should have been dead long time ago,

don't lay at his feet. But if you can remember

where God brought you from, uh huh, you'll put some
