Holding on to gods unchanging hands; knowing a change is going to come. Pslam 34;18 - Minster Cheryl Gamles

Change is gonna come. Amen. Amen, So today Church, if

there's ever been a time when people need encarriagement, it

is now. We're living in a world filled with uncertainty.

Families are struggling, bodies are afflicted, minds are burden, finances

are stretched, relationships are strained. Many people are carrying silent

battles that nobody knows about.

And I can, I can testify to that.

Seems like I've been getting hit every every way the

devil can but God, but God. So about two weeks ago,

I think it was I got I started feeling real bad.

Was that work that morning? And start feeling really really bad.

All of a sudden, couldn't see and I was like

my vision started being really blurry or whatever.

So I called my husband.

We talked, and so I said, when we get off,

I'm going to go to the doctor. Call my mother

in law to take me. We went to the doctor

and my sugar was five ninety eight. Visions still missed up.

I got on these ugly glasses because I couldn't weark

my cute ones today because I can't see. So I

can't see close up.

And normally I can't see far out.

I can see close up. But it's changed.

But you know what, But God, I said, the devil

is a lie.

So I was supposed to speak last month, and of

course I was down there with my brother, so spoke

to Copast and she said, you know what, Cheryl, just

keep that word and when it's time for you to speak,

it'll be a word for somebody. I lost that word, child,

so I had to but blead God because I went

to God and I was like, because I thought that

word that I had, man, it was good to me.

So I was like God. So of course I started

studying and praying, and he gave me something else. So

we're gonna go with this one. Yet, in the midst

of all these changing circumstances, there's one thing that remains constant.

God never changes. Everything around us.

May change my eyesight, losing.

My baby, my big baby, my little brother, but God

hands remains unchanging. Again, my title is holding onto God's

un changing hand, knowing a change is gonna come.

And y'all know that was his song, right, A change.

Is gonna come. Notice the tension in the thing. On

one hand, God is unchanging. On the other hand, change

is coming. How can both be true? Because while God

never changes our circumstances do. God's character remains the same,

but our seasons change.

God's promises remain the same, but our situations change.

God hand remains steady while he leads us through changing circumstances.

The reason we can believe that a change is coming

is because we are holding on to God unchanging hand.

So I'll be coming from three scriptures today. The scriptures

before us reveal three power for truths. Psalms thirty four

and eighteen teaches us that God is present in our suffering.

Romans five three through five teaches us that God is

producing something through our suffering. James one and four teaches

us that God is perfecting us through our suffering. Amen.

So together they show us why we must keep holding

on unto our season change. Cope, I said, if you'll

get Psalms thirty four and eighteen for me, you fine, Oh,

I need it.

If you could stand for the reading of the word, Please,

and the Word of God says in Psalms thirty four

and eighteen, the Lord is not unto them that are

are a broken heart, and save it such as be

of a contrite spirit.

Amen, hold on because God is present in your pain.

The Lord is close to us. He's close to the

broken hearted. And save those who are Christian spirit, you

may be seated. David wrote these words from experience. David

knew what it means to suffer. He knew rejection, he

knew betrayal, he knew fear, he knew disappointment. You see,

if I be honest like David, I discovered a lot

of that. But yet I discover something powerful about God.

God does not run from the broken people. God moves

toward broken people. The world often abandons people when they're hurting.

Friends may leave, family may not understand, they'll misunderstand you.

But people may not know what to say. But God

specializes in drawing near to those who are hurting. Notice

how the scripture connects to our threat, that our thing.

The thing says hold on to God's unchanging hand and

Psalms thirty four, Pint eighteen. It tell us why, Because

when your heart is broken, God hand is still there.

When your spirit is crushed, God's hand is still there.

When your prayer seem unanswered, God's hands is still there.

And I think about even when I was in.

The on my brother's bedside, I think about some days

me crying and just talking to God and praying and

writing the scriptures on his wild on the sticky notes,

and me and my sister was sticking them up all

over the walls. And I mean just talking with him

and talking to God, talking to him, talking to God

and just praying, praying, and just I mean looking at

him and I'm just come on, God, I pull him through,

you know, just just praying, praying. But then I remember

it seems at a time it came to a point

where it seems like my prayers was unanswered.

But I still know that, I know that, I know

God was still there.

He's still there. See, sometimes your tears will fall in

the midnight hour, God hend is still there. The circumstances

may have changed, but God hand has not trust me.

God is still there. Many people think suffering means God

has left them, but David teaches us opposite. Sometimes God

is closest when we feel weakest. Sometimes God is nearest

when we feel most broken. You see, sometimes God's greatest

present is experienced in our deepest pain. Hallelujah, Thank you Jesus.

I serve a great God child. Think about a little

child learning to walk. When the child is I'm sorry

the baby is trying to walk. When the child is

strong and steady, the parent they stand a little distance

from him because you know, he can walk now a

little bit.

So I ain't gonna get too close to him.

You know. CJ started walking when he was ten months.

I think, yeah, ten months walking, so and walking and

getting away from me. So. But he wasn't following nothing.

He was good, so I let him, you know, okay,

go ahead, go ahead. So but when the child begins

to stumble, what does the parent do. He moved closer,

get get closer to him. Likewise, when life causes us

to stumble, guess what God moves near. He'll get close

to you. The broken heart that are not abandoned, The

crush and the spirit are not forgotten. The suffering believer

is not alone. God is near, Amen. And because God

is near, we can keep holding them. Amen.

The unchanging hand. In a changing season, you.

See, David's circumstances changed repeatedly. You know, one day he

was a shepherd, another day he was a giant killer.

Another day he was running for his life, another day

he was king. His season's changed, but God's faithfulness never changed.

The same is true for us, y'all. Your season may change,

your health may change, your finances may change, your relationships

may change. But God's hand remains the same. That is

why we hold on, not because life is easy, not

because suffer feels good, because it don't it don't, but

because God remains faithful. Amen. Amen. So since the Johnny copasti, Johnny,

if I can get you to read Romans five three

through five, hallelujah, thank you Jesus.

And the Word of God says, and not only so,

but we glory in tribulation. Also knowing that tribulation work

is patience and patience, experience and experience, hope and hope,

make it not a shame because the love of God

is shared abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost,

which is given unto us.

Amen.

So this one power is talking to the Gentiles and

the Jews. So this scripture take us a little deeper.

God teaches us that God is present in suffering. You

see Romans five teaches us that God is productive in suffering.

God is not merely sitting beside us while we're suffering.

He's working through what we're expirencing Pop says, tribulation produces patience.

Patience produces character, Character produces hope. Hope does not disappoint.

What an amazing progression. Most people won't hope without the heartship.

If I be honest, you know, give me. When I

lost my.

Baby, I said, come on, now, you what you're doing?

God? What are you doing? I didn't want that hardship.

I didn't sign up for that email. They wanted a

character without CHALLENGESTI without waiting.

But God's process does not work that way.

Tribulation becomes the classroom where God develops us Amen comparing

Roman's five to the thing again holding on to God's

unchanging hand, knowing the change is gonna come. Roman five

explains what happens while we're waiting for that change. You see,

while we're waiting for the breakthrough, God is building patience.

While we're waiting for the healing, God is building our character. Wow,

I'm waiting because I'm preaching to myself, y'all. While we're

waiting for deliverance, God is building hope. So keep hoping.

Keep hoping. If you need a deliverance, If you know

somebody who need a deliverance and you praying for them,

keep hoping, because God is building that hope, the change

we desire. It may not have arrived yet, you hear

me say yet yet, but God is already changing me already.

Sometimes we focus so much on what God is doing

around us that we miss what He's doing within us. Amen. Amen,

We pray Lord, change my situation. Lord, change my situation.

And God says, I'm using the situation to change you. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Thank you Jesus, who wouldn't serve a God like that? Hallelujah.

Tribulation is not the end, you see. Paul does not

deny suffering. He acknowledges it. He calls it tribulation. He

might want to pression, affliction, difficulty, trouble, Yet he says

believers can rejoice. Hallelujah. Believers can rejoice not because the

suffering feels good again, but because suffering has purpose. The

enemy won't suffering to make you quit, And Lord knows

I wanted to quit sometime, But God's won't suffering to

make me stronger. Hallelujah. The enemy, hallelujah, won't suffering to

destroy your faith. And Lord knows my faith was destroyed.

But God won't suffering to deepen your faith. Hallelujah. The

enemy won't suffering to produce despair. I've been dispweared, I

was despaired. But God won't suffering to produce hope. So

I think I keep hoping in them. That is why

I keep holding on, because God is doing something greater

than we can ever see ever. See you see hope.

I like that. I like to hope in God because see,

hope anchors the soul. And I remember telling God, Hollylujah,

if you just hold on to me, I promise I'll

hold on to you no matter what comes my way.

I'm gonna keep holding on to God. Hallelujah, Hollylujah. I'm

gonna keep hoping in God. Hollylujah. When I lost my baby,

oh man, my hope, my hope. But then when I

was able to get through the night that they came

to the house to tell me he was gone, When

I was able to see my way through that, I

know it was nothing but the grace of God. But

when I was able to see the next day, I

can hope a little bit more. I could hope a

little bit more. Holly Lujah. When me and my husband

were laying there and said, we're gonna go to work today.

We don't want to look at living. I mean, we

don't want to stay in this house, and these wires

seemed like they're closing in on us. We're gonna get

up and go to work. Thought we was gonna go

to work. I looked at him, he looked at me.

We cried and stayed right there. Couldn't get up, couldn't

because man, we lost our baby. But God, but God,

y'all again, hope, hope. So we got it, got on

by a little bit, a little bit. Four years later,

I lost my mama. Oh, come on, God, come on God.

But even that that was different from losing my baby.

And then all I had to do, y'all grab on

to hope, grab on to God's son, changing hands. So

I'm getting on through that, getting on through that. Bam,

My brother, my little big brother, come down. Sister brought

him down here to see me for the to be

here for the ordination. I was so happy, he was

so happy. I remember my husband telling him, telling me

about him and my uncle le John. Uh. They looking

at le John when it other Young Lady Fohn kept

ring get through the surface. And they were laughing about that,

and just the good memories that I have about c J.

Mama and my brother and y'all.

My brother name is pee Wee two, so it's pee

Wee and we called my brother pee Wee two. But anyway,

just the good memories. And of course if you knew

Peewee my brother, you was gonna have some laughs and

you was gonna have something to remember. But anyway, I

just know that hope anchors my soul. So Paule ends

with hope. Hope is the confidence that God will do

what he promised. Hope says, I don't see it yet,

but I believe it. Hope says, I don't understand it yet,

but I trust God. Hope says, my circumstances are constantly changing,

constantly changing, but my God's promise remain the same. Hope

is what allows us to keep holding on to God's

hand while waiting for a change. So Copastor James one

and four, keep hoping, y'all, keep.

Hoping have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect

and entire wanting nothing.

Hallelujah, hold on because God is perfecting you through the process.

James teaches us something many believers struggle with don't interrupt

God's process. Let patience do its work, that endurance do

its work, Let faith do its work. Let God finish

what he started. Amen comparing James wanting for it to

the thing, the thing says, hold on to God, some

change in hand, knowing a change is gonna come. You see,

James remind us that some changes take time. We often

want immediate results, we want instant miracles. Watching my brothers

lay up there, I wanted immediate results, and I definitely

wanted an instant miracle when they told me it was

about two three times, me and my sister would get

to the hospital, and the hospital is about take about

an hour or so from where she lived for us

to get up there. We get up there, and of

course I'm a little seasoned, a little you know, veteran,

So I have to go to the bathroom when I

get there because I done wrote that whole hour. So

we go to the bathroom. But at least two times,

me with my seasoned self, at least twice or maybe

three times, I'm in the bathroom and my phone he's ringing.

I pick up the phone. It's the nurses from the hospital.

Miss gambles, were just letting you know, you need to

get up here.

I'm up here, I'm on my way. What's going on?

He's colded. That wasn't my prayer. That wasn't answer for me.

That wouldn't answer for my prayer. He had coded. A

couple of times we walking down the hallway, they calling us.

We going to one room because he had got out

of I cu We going to the to the room

that they say they moved him to a floor. Were

going to that room. We get there, he wasn't there,

were asking them where he had.

Well, let me get the.

Nurse, they say, cause the nurse is taking somebody to

admitting somebody to I see you. It was my brother.

The nurse was admitting him, re admitting him to I

see you again. That wasn't my prayer. That wasn't my

prayer at all. So we get up there, me with

my bad self. Because you push the little dough the

button and the door come open.

So here I go. I'm going in there little bit.

I know I didn't want to go in there because

I don't went in there a couple of times while

I walked in, and it's about ten doctors around him.

They working on him, They trying to bring him back

to life. So one day I go in there. This

is that had happened. Me and my sister went in

there and I just stood there and so they working

on him, and I'm just like, oh, God, he gone,

he's gone. He's gone. So I started just crying. And

the doctor come out and was like, we really can't.

We trying.

We trying, but and he said but but, I said,

but God.

So I was crying.

But I turned that thing around, y'all, I started saying.

Oh. I was like, I said, oh, that's my baby.

I remember saying that's my baby. Y'all. Don't understand all

of a sudden, I don't know, but I know I

turned it around. And my sister looked at me, and

when if they came back out and say, okay, we

brought him back. We got him, and y'all give us

about thirty fifteen to thirty minutes and we'll let y'all

you know, come in or whatever. So we walking out

and I'm still praying. I'm crying out on cowl.

My husband he about to jump on the next Uh.

I didn't want him to drive, y'all because he would

have made it through real quick, as long as it

take to get there. But anyway, I said, Noah, don't

come yet. And I said, they a gonna come out

and tell her something. And my sister, she looked at

me and she was and she tried to be real hard, y'all.

This is my baby, sister, she the baby or the family.

But she looked at me and she say, sister, you

know what I said. What she said, you know why

they told us to get out of her. Because they

told us to leave out. I said why, Rhonda, She say,

his sister, you was preaching. You was waking up everybody.

And the babe, I was calling on God, Jesus help,

Jesus help, and he answered my prayers for it. He

gave him to me for a little bit, a little

while longer. I thank God for that. But again, you see,

hold on to God un change in hend. You see,

as I was saying, we want them instant breakthroughs, them

instant answers. But God oftens work through process. A seed

becomes a treat through process. A caterpillar becomes a butterfly

through process. A believer becomes spiritually mature through process. The

change is coming, y'all. The change is coming, but patience

must do its work first. You see, God is more

concerned about your development in your comfort. Many times we

pray for comfort, God responds with development. We pray for ease.

God develops endurance. We pray for quick answers, but God

develops patience. We pray for immediate relief, but God develops maturity.

James says that patience produces completeness. God wants believers who

are mature, stable, and grounded. That's the kind of believer

I want to be. Hallelujah, hallelujah. You see people who

trust in Him in every season, people who hold his hand,

whether they're on the mountain or in the valley. See,

that's what God wants. That's what God wants. And I

thank God that I know him. Amen, I thank God

that I.

Know who to run too. So don't let go too soon.

One of the greatest dangers during suffering is quitting too soon.

Some people let go right before the breakthrough. Some people

stop praying right before the answer. Some people stop believing

right before that miracle. James says, keep holding on, stay faithful,

stay committed, stay prayerful, stay hopeful, because God is still

working Amen, hallelujah, Thank you Jesus. So I'm gonna give you,

excuse me, I'm gonna give you some biblical examples of

holding on until change comes. See through our scripture, people

held on through suffering and changed arrived. You see, it

started with Joseph. We'll talk about Joseph first. Joseph held

on in the pit, He held on in slavery, he

held on in prison. Years passed before his change came,

but because he held on to God hand, the prison

eventually became a palace. Hallelujah. That's the kind of God

I served. Hallelujah, hallylujah. And we all know the story

of Job. Hallelujah. She see, Job lost his possessions, he

lost his children, he lost his help. Come on, am

I Joe, No, I'm sure, I'm sure.

He lost his help.

Yet Job declared though he slaved me yet, will I

trust you? Job held on and eventually God restored everything

he had lost, everything he had lost. And then what

And then we got David. Y'all, David was annointy king

long before he became a king. There was a delay

between the promise and the fulfillment. But minister Tyler, but

David kept holding off, and God's promise came to pass.

And then the greatest example. Somebody say, greatest example Jesus.

The greatest example is Jesus. He endured betrayal, mocking, rejection, suffering,

and the cross.

Oh, but Sunday morning came.

Sunday morning came, y'all, Resurrection followed the suffering. Victory follow

the pain, hallelujah, hollylujah. Victory followed the pain, y'all, hallelujah.

Glory followed the sacrifice, hallelujah. If God brought Jesus through,

come on now he can bring us through, y'all. Hallelujah, hollandlujah.

You see, while we know a chain, he just gonna come.

How do we know a change is come? Not because

circumstances suggest it, not because people predict it, not because

we feel it.

But somebody say, but we know because God promises.

Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Who wouldn't serve a God like that?

Psalm thirty four says God is near, Romans five say

God is working, James one say God is perfecting. Hallelujah. Together,

these scriptures reveal a powerful truth. God is present, God

is productive. God is perfecting, and because God is doing

all three changes inevitable. The storm will not last forever.

I don't care what it looks like. I don't care

what it looks like. I'm gonna live in witness, y'all.

The story will not last forever. Hallelujah, hallelujah. I told you, See,

I told you they counted me out, but they couldn't count.

That's just like that storm. I told her that storm.

I am the storm. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Because I know a God.

I know a God. The God I served hallelujah won't fail.

Hallelujah can't fail. Hallelujah, hallelujah. You better get to know

that God if you don't. Hallelujah, hallelujah. I know the

night won't last forever. Weep been made the injury for

a night, but joy, but joy come within the morning, hallelujah.

I might not be in my morning yet, but I'm

on my way, Tyler.

Thank you Jesus. The suffering will not last forever, y'all, hallelujah,

I feel like shot right now because I know God

got me. Hallelujah. Hallelujah, holland luljah. Thank you Jesus, Thank

you Jesus. Hold on to his hands, hold on to

his hands, hallelujah, Thank you Jesus. You see today some

are carrying burdens that seem unbearable. Hallelujah. Some are fighting

battles nobody knows about. Some of you are wondering if

things will ever change. Hallelujah. The word of God gives

us three reasons to keep holding on. Okay again. Psalms

thirty four and eighteen tell me God is dear the

broken heart. Romans five through and five says tribulation is

producing my hope. Hallelujah. James one and four says patience

is completing me, y'all, It's completing God's work in me. Hallelujah.

Thank you Jesus. These scriptures perfectly perfectly connect to our things.

God hand is unchanging our circumstances. Are changing, and because

his hand is unchanging, we can trust him through every

changing season. Hallelujah. So hold on, hold on when you're hurting,

hold on when you're waiting, hold on when you're confused,

hold on when you're weary. Hallelujah. He told me, don't

get weary in my well doing. Hallelujah. Hold on when

you can't see the outcome. See when you don't know

that outcome. Just hold on. Grab a hold to God's

unchanging hands. Because let me tell you, the God who

was faithful yesterday what he's faithful today. He is faithful today.

The God who carried you before, the God who carried

us before, husband God got us. The God who carried

us before, he will carry us again. Hallelujah. I believe it.

I believe it. The God who started the work, we'll

finish the work. Hallelujah. And why you're holding onto his

unchanging hand, remember this. Remember this, God is nearing your pain.

God is working through your pain, and God is perfecting

you through your pain. Therefore, don't give up, don't quit,

came pastor, don't let go. Keep trusting, keep believing, Mother Johnson,

keep praying, Minister Tanika, keep holding on. Because God's hand

has not changed. And because his hand has not changed,

you can be assured of this one truth. What's that?

Is that what y'all say? What's that?
