  1. Thank you for taking the time to listen to the well church sabbatons podcast,

  2. we pray that you enjoy this message and that it creates a well of hope in your life today.

  3. So i saw a picture during worship of kind

  4. of like if we were all at like a campground and you know like when the food

  5. was prepared some campgrounds would have like that bell there and so i just

  6. saw the father ringing that bell as a sound of preparedness that he has prepared

  7. food for us and he is the food.

  8. And so I just think that there is a loving beckoning for his children to just

  9. come running because I don't know if you've ever been outside playing as a child

  10. and you hear your mom saying like, dinner's ready or lunch is ready.

  11. Like you just leave everything and you come running to the voice of your mom or your father.

  12. And so the verse that came to my mind was Isaiah 55 verse 6.

    Isaiah 55:6

  13. It says, seek the Lord Yahweh when he makes himself approachable.

  14. Call upon him when you sense he is near.

  15. And in my footnotes, it says, Sikh has the idea of visiting frequently more

  16. than trying to find something because he's not hiding from us.

  17. And then the Hebrew word for call, when it says the call upon him,

  18. when you sense he is near, is kara, which has two meanings.

  19. One is to call or shout, and the other is to fall into.

  20. So this could also be read, fall into him while he is near.

  21. And that changes everything, because it's not like going out and seeking and.

  22. Toiling and just falling into him because he is near.

  23. So I just bless you guys to fall into him today. Amen.

  24. Thank you. Yeah. So for me, I had a plan today.

  25. I had a really awesome sermon for you guys. It has seven points.

  26. All right. It is awesome. I

  27. worked hard on it all week. I felt like it was what the Lord wanted to do.

  28. And I knew it was going to be long. So I was going to shorten worship.

  29. And about the second space between the song, the Lord didn't like my plan.

  30. But it was funny because I'm sure he gave it to me. So I learned a lot about

  31. something this week without you. And maybe you'll get it another time,

  32. come to home group. Maybe I'll do it there.

  33. So I just feel like we're going to go a different direction.

  34. I'm not going to be as organized.

  35. I need grace from you guys, but I do want to stop and talk about today in our nation.

  36. Many of you know, maybe you're receiving emails as well on our national mall.

  37. They're having an all day service and the, the crescendo of the service is our

  38. president rededicating our nation to God.

  39. So, and you know, for me personally, I

  40. love this I feel like we were we are a godly nation made by godly people we've

  41. been distracted by sin by the lust of our flesh particularly our comfort we

  42. have great comforts in our nation and I love them as much as you but we're distracted

  43. and I love that it well as we're celebrating 250 years.

  44. That we're actually focused on God's role in our nation.

  45. So I'm going to try to put a live stream on after the service ends,

  46. which might be relatively quickly because I'm not using my notes.

  47. I'm going to try to put the live service on.

  48. But that said, you guys know you're high tech.

  49. Anytime someone streams a live service, you can watch it later.

  50. So they've been worshiping and praying together and learning about our nation's

  51. history and God while we've been worshiping here.

  52. But there's three pillars to this event. And the

  53. three pillars are The first section The

  54. miracles that made us as a nation The second

  55. section The miracles that are still happening in our nation And the third pillar

  56. A new birth of faith and freedom So I'm just going to pass this email I printed

  57. it out for you guys to look at You're going to recognize some names on here

  58. Like Jensen Franklin, Ben Carson.

  59. Speaker Mike Johnson is going to speak There's some Catholic bishops speaking,

  60. Lou Engel, the founder of The Call, is going to be speaking.

  61. It's going on all day. So as you're home, if you're sitting in your yard enjoying

  62. the heat as it heats up, streaming on your phone, with things like this,

  63. I just put it on my TV and we go about our day.

  64. We catch moments of it. So I'll pass that around.

  65. A lot of great things happening up till July 4th and then even into the next

  66. year because it's all the anniversary.

  67. There's some things that we're involved in. I'll let you know about those later.

  68. So if you could open your Bibles And,

  69. to Jeremiah chapter 32. Jeremiah 32.

    Jeremiah 32 chapter mention

  70. And I'm just going to pray. So Father, we thank you that you're leading us.

  71. We want to be a people that follow your spirit, but we ask that you would organize,

  72. what you're trying to say to us in a way that we can receive it and learn from it and grow.

  73. In Jesus' name, amen. So I did see a prophetic picture during worship,

  74. and I want to challenge you guys with it.

  75. I basically saw a passenger aircraft and it was on autopilot and it was flying

  76. at a really acceptable height.

  77. And I felt like the Lord said for many of us, our lives have been this.

  78. We've gotten to an altitude, a place with the Lord, and we've decided this place is great.

  79. Even though, you know, stuff still happens in our life, We're still dealing

  80. with life. This place is great.

  81. We hit autopilot and we're just cruising along at this level.

  82. And I felt like the Lord is saying that the autopilot's coming off and we're going to have to fly it.

  83. And I feel like in this season, even as a church, we've gotten to a place where

  84. we're not a liturgical church, but we've actually invented a liturgy where we

  85. do about the same thing every week about the same way.

  86. That's awesome. I love that. That's comfortable.

  87. There's nothing wrong with a pattern that brings you closer to God,

  88. but we have to be willing to can the pattern if the Lord wants to do something else.

  89. So for you in your life, I want you to think about if you've been on autopilot,

  90. where you've been flying.

  91. For some of us, as we're flying through our life, so to speak,

  92. we're flying through our life.

  93. We're just barely making it over the obstacles and we're content there.

  94. And some of us, we want to soar up above the clouds. We want to be in the weird

  95. glory, the prophetic picture.

  96. We want to call ourselves seers, not prophets.

  97. We want to do this stuff. And it's fun. And we love it.

  98. And the Lord's moving in it. And I feel like even for some of us,

  99. the Lord wants to bring us a little lower so we can pick up some passengers.

  100. You know, don't crash your plane. You don't have to do that to meet passengers,

  101. you know, but maybe you've got to come down from that super spiritual place

  102. that we love to be in and find some people and bring them up with you.

  103. So you guys are in Jeremiah 32.

  104. In Jeremiah 32, a couple of things are happening.

  105. I made a couple of notes on my phone during announcements.

  106. I'm not checking my text. So Jeremiah 32, Israel is under the judgment of God

  107. and Babylon is besieging Jerusalem.

  108. All right. We don't really have a concept of what a siege of an ancient city

  109. looks like, apart from like the Lord of the Rings, you know,

  110. but I want you to picture this God's city, Jerusalem,

  111. God's people, and a foreign army has surrounded them and there's no food going in or out.

  112. There's no water going in or out. It's a, it's a bad situation.

  113. And it's really only a matter of days because they're experiencing the judgment

  114. of God until Jerusalem is taken by Babylon.

  115. And so I kind of want to parallel this a little bit with what's happening in the earth today.

  116. I don't believe we're under the judgment of God. I have Jesus.

  117. The judgment of God could actually fall on the place where I live.

  118. And I still have Jesus to walk me through that, you know, because my sin is under the blood.

  119. I have a relationship with God, you know, and we've read before in the Old Testament

  120. about how they planted in a famine and they saw a harvest.

  121. So the whole world was experiencing something negative, but the people of God

  122. planted in a famine and saw a harvest, you know, a hundred times what they planted.

  123. So we are exempt from what God's doing in the world. And I'm not saying our

  124. nation is under judgment, but I am saying it's a unique time in our nation where

  125. I feel like the enemy is trying to divide us about everything.

  126. Trying to divide us about whether we like pineapple on pizza,

  127. should you eat pork, should you go to the gym and work out, what kind of car you should drive.

  128. People are so passionate about so many things that don't matter and so many

  129. things that do that they're trying to divide us.

  130. And I want to tell you, you guys know my interaction with social media is very low.

  131. If you send me a Facebook message, I will not see it.

  132. But when I am interacting with social media, What i'm

  133. seeing is what I believe is the

  134. it's sowing more division What started

  135. out is so I could see my high school friends Vacation that

  136. I don't talk to anymore has become A forum for opinions where no one's accountable

  137. for what they say except us And what they say is controversial in order to incite

  138. riots some of you guys know I even forget what I posted.

  139. I posted something really nice about the Lord moving in people's lives after they sin.

  140. And it turned into this huge argument that I would let pedophiles work with

  141. the kids at my church, which is not true.

  142. But I do believe that someone could do something horrible and Jesus could change

  143. them and they could be a part of this church.

  144. So, you know, that's the way it is. But so what, this is almost like a warning.

  145. There's an algorithm and I don't know who or what's controlling it.

  146. I'm not trying to be this way.

  147. I'm not a sound the alarm kind of guy, but that algorithm is trying to create

  148. conflict in your peace and it's trying to create conflict among your friends and neighbors.

  149. So here we have in Jeremiah 32, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah.

  150. Babylon is besieging Jerusalem. Israel is under the judgment of God.

  151. So I'm going to read a little bit and then I'll comment. And I want to kind

  152. of parallel it with what's going on here.

  153. So the word, the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the 10th year of Zedekiah,

  154. king of Judah, which was the 18th year of Nebuchadnezzar,

  155. verse two, for then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem and Jeremiah,

  156. the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.

  157. So where is Jeremiah during the siege?

  158. Yeah, he is under house arrest in the king's house. And I feel like some of us,

  159. due to the situations of our lives, the things that we are believing God to

  160. change, some of us are existing in this state where we feel like things are

  161. out of control and we might even feel like we're under house arrest.

  162. Now you're all here this morning.

  163. If you did get parole and an anklet, I can get them to let you come here.

  164. I'll do that for you, one of my pastoral privileges, but I'll be responsible for you.

  165. So if you're going to come here and do something naughty on the way home, don't come.

  166. Anyway, believe that about you guys.

  167. So anyway, so Jeremiah is under house arrest. So we're in this season.

  168. God's on the move. But many of us, we feel trapped by our, I'll say this,

  169. my life decisions have led me to this place.

  170. They have. I'm grateful for this place. But the place that I,

  171. the areas I feel trapped are really all a result of decisions that I made.

  172. Jeremiah is in prison in the king's house. And then verse three,

  173. it says, for Zedekiah, king of Judah, shut him up saying, why do you prophesy and say,

  174. thus says the Lord, behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king

  175. of Babylon and he shall take it.

  176. So he got locked up for telling the people that the Babylonians were going to

  177. win, releasing his prophetic word.

  178. And verse 4 And Zedekiah king of Judah Shall not escape from the hand of the

  179. Chaldeans But you shall surely be delivered Into the hand of the king of Babylon

  180. And shall speak with him face to face And see him eye to eye Just want to,

  181. you know, we're a prophetic people You know, we Monica not this morning She

  182. didn't have fear about giving the prophetic word Maybe someone else did I mean,

  183. we're afraid that our prophetic word,

  184. Won't be awesome So we don't give it Jeremiah gave it and he got arrested.

  185. I mean, I'm not going to arrest you. I'm not going to tell you not to try again.

  186. I'm probably not even going to tell you you're wrong. I'm going to ask the Lord to work it out.

  187. Verse five, then he shall lead Zedekiah into Babylon where he shall be until

  188. I visit him, says the Lord.

  189. I mean, there's a little bit of hope in there that even though he'll be captured,

  190. he's going to Babylon where the Lord's going to visit him.

  191. And then though you will fight the Chaldeans, you will not succeed.

  192. Verse six, and Jeremiah said, The word of the Lord came to me saying Now this

  193. is really interesting It says.

  194. Behold Hanamel the son of Shalom Okay first

  195. of all Nobody knows how to pronounce these names And if

  196. these guys were here They'd be like yo you did that wrong It's this okay So

  197. don't get caught up on it Behold Hanamel the son of Shalom Your uncle will come

  198. to you saying Buy the field which is at Anathoth For the right to redemption Is yours to buy it.

  199. So basically, his cousin is going to come and say, hey, you have to buy this

  200. field because it's yours to redeem.

  201. And this is sort of what we see in the book of Esther.

  202. We had a great sermon on Esther this year. You can listen to it on our podcast,

  203. which had 400 downloads in the last two weeks. There's a right to redemption.

  204. God in the old covenant in the law, he made every single situation that the

  205. enemy could rob from the people of God to be redeemed by the people of God. And we saw it in Esther.

  206. Esther marries her husband. Her husband dies, and she seeks out the kinsman

  207. redeemer to redeem that situation.

  208. And the kingdom's redeemer's name was Boaz, right, Boaz.

  209. And remember, he says, there's someone closer than me. I have to go talk to him first.

  210. So here, whatever situation is happening in Jeremiah's cousin's life,

  211. he's going to lose the field.

  212. He's going to have to sell that field, but the Lord wants to preserve that field in that family.

  213. So he goes to Jeremiah and says, hey, you're supposed to buy this field.

  214. And let's look at what happens here.

  215. It says, verse 8, then Hannah and I, my uncle's son, came to me in the court

  216. of the prison, according to the word of the Lord, and said to me,

  217. please buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin,

  218. for the right of inheritance is yours and the redemption is yours.

  219. Buy it for yourself. Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.

  220. So the Lord told him ahead of time. Now, remember what's happening.

  221. The army of Babylon is invading Israel.

  222. We've not been invaded, praise the Lord. We've not been invaded.

  223. I can tell you not a lot of real estate transactions are going to be happening during an invasion.

  224. Good chance you buy the field and nobody cares about your deed because you just got invaded.

  225. So here's a real estate transaction happening in the middle of a season it doesn't belong in.

  226. And verse 9, what's it say? It says, so I bought the field from Hananel,

  227. the son of my uncle, who was it?

  228. Anathoth. And I weighed out for him the money, 17 shekels of silver.

  229. So here you have a transaction taking place in a situation it makes no sense in.

  230. And it does cost Jeremiah something. Jeremiah is in prison, in a war,

  231. buying a field from his cousin.

  232. Here he's doing this and it's the word of the Lord. It's what God wants.

  233. And then verse 10, and I signed the deed and sealed it and took witnesses and

  234. weighed out the money on the scales.

  235. Verse 11, so I took the purchase deed, both what which was sealed according

  236. to the law and the custom and that which was open.

  237. I gave the purchase deed to Barak, the son of some guys, I mean,

  238. a guy, and then the son of another guy, in the presence of Hannah,

  239. my uncle's son, in the presence of the witnesses who signed the purchase deed

  240. before the Jews who sat at the court of the prison.

  241. Okay. So the whole reason I'm reading this is we're in a weird situation on the earth.

  242. And I feel like the Lord, as we're coming off of autopilot, is going to ask

  243. us to do things that don't entirely make sense, that might cost us something.

  244. And there's a reality here. I don't know if you saw this, but there was part

  245. of it in the presence of witnesses. They signed a deed and there was part of

  246. it that was a sealed deed that was a secret.

  247. And I'm telling you, we're your people. You're here.

  248. We're your people. We're going to know some of what the Lord is doing in your

  249. life is costing you, but there's going to be a place that no one's ever going to know.

  250. And I want to encourage you in that in this season. The Lord is opening doors for you.

  251. He is bringing provision for you, but you're going to have an opportunity and

  252. do some things that make no sense, that actually cost you something.

  253. And the only one that's ever going to know is Jesus. And so I guess maybe we'll

  254. just spend a little time responding, you know, and I want you guys to consider the cost.

  255. We don't want to be the people that build the tower before we figure out if

  256. we're willing to pay for it.

  257. But I mean, I'm seeing what's happening around me. I'm working with people that are going to hell.

  258. I'm seeing people that, you know, they're in the kingdom, but they're seeing no kingdom victory.

  259. And honestly, I'm at this place where I'll just do whatever it takes.

  260. I don't care if it's 17 shekels of silver or if it costs me something no one

  261. ever sees. Does that make sense?

  262. All right. You guys don't feel beat up. All right. So we're going to avoid conflict on social media.

  263. All right. We're going to ask the Lord what he's inviting us into,

  264. and we're going to not be afraid to step into it, even if we see it makes us uncomfortable.

  265. Just go ahead and stand up. I'm going to pray. So, Father, we thank you.

  266. We thank you for your invitation, for your...

  267. Thank you, Father, in Jesus' name. Amen.

  268. Thanks for taking the time to listen. We're glad that what the Lord is doing

  269. among us encourages you.
