Acts Chapter 1 2009

Of course, that's why we actually come together.

That's why we actually read.

Uh that's why we actually pray.

Uh that's why we actually abstain.

That is, we uh we fast, is that we actually might have a chance to climb up higher.

This is all about growing up and the things of God.

Uh the Bible says, and of course we're people.

Uh our vision is on coming to maturity, or the Bible uses the term perfection, it's the same thing as completion.

Uh, but of course we are a people, we keep that in sight, we keep perfection, or we keep growing up or mature maturity in sight.

And in Paul, uh, that is the church he birthed in Corinth, uh, he loved that people, he abide there for one year and six months before he actually ordained elders and commend those men into the grace of God.

Uh, but his desire for that people is that they might grow up.

When he actually heard some time later their affairs, it really grieved him at his heart.

Uh, that church that he actually birthed, he established it, he planted it, uh, he gave them the good word of God, but yet he made a declaration that grieved them to his heart.

He said, I fed you with milk and not with meat, because you were not able to bear it.

Hitherto are you still not able because you're carnal and you walk as men.

Whereas there's envy and strife, he says, Are now you not carnal?

When one says I'm a Paul, another say I'm a Cephas, and another say I'm a Peter, he says, Are you not carnal and not spiritual?

And so we know the vision is a result of carnality.

We know that envy and strife is a vision of uh a manifestation of carnality.

And of course, carnality is that we still have milk on our eyes.

We still can't see the things of God.

And so the Lord Himself in Revelation, uh, he gave us a desire, that is, a word that we should pray, that we would actually annoy in our eyes what I say.

That's understanding, that we can see the things that's been free to give us of God.

And that is that we may actually grow up in the things of God.

And yet, when we start off, we have to start off as newborn babes.

We don't start off as mature saints, uh, we don't start off as grown-up Christians no more than we start off as grown-up adults, um, grown-up uh people.

We start off as infants.

And so John said, I write unto you little children, I write unto you young men, and I write unto you fathers.

Those are three different developmental stages in every every saint's life.

A stage that we grow up in, or we come through.

And this New Testament church is altogether different because it was 100% a spiritual operation.

That church wasn't born as an infant.

That church was just like Adam, it was made perfect, and the day it was created until iniquity was found in it.

Adam is the only man, is the only man that graced his globe, uh, that never had to crawl.

He never had to learn to walk, he never had to learn to talk.

Adam is the only one who was made whole and complete from his conception.

From the day that God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, that man became, he was a living soul.

He was grown, he was mature, and he had a perfect understanding.

He never had to be taught his alphabets and how to count.

Uh, he didn't have to be taught uh that his syllables and how to pronounce words.

Uh no one taught him geography, it wasn't necessary.

That New Testament church, no one had to teach them the commandments of God, the laws, his precepts, no one had to teach them doctrine.

How do they get it?

Thank God when that church was born.

It was actually born, we use a term, it's a biblical term, Hebrew speech, it was born behind the veil.

It was born behind the veil.

That is, it was in the holy place from the day that it was conceived.

And yet Jesus Christ himself, and I'm glad for that, uh, when he came, uh, he did not come, and I'm glad he didn't.

He didn't come to those that was already whole.

He said, They that which are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

And so I'm glad that he actually came to a people, and I'm I'm sorry for them, but I'm glad for me because it gives me hope.

But he came to a people which had all types of problems.

Uh they was downcast, they were forsaken, uh, some was wearied, uh, some was faint-hearted, but thank God the Lord Jesus Christ, he came to seek and save that which was lost.

And so here he is when he actually graced this earth.

He came to a people, and even so, this hour in which we live, he gives religion a chance first.

He came to the religious people of that day.

They was called the Jews.

That was the people who had God's ordinances, they had his statutes, they had his commandments, uh, they had all the things that was necessary that they might, that they might have a chance for a resurrection.

But uh, you know what they actually did?

The Bible said they worship him.

This is what he says, they worship him with their mouth.

He said, but their heart was far from them.

And that's what religion would do to you.

It's a ritual, it doesn't have life in it.

You go through the motions, but your heart, that is the core of your being, can be all together somewhere else.

Uh but you go to church because as you were taught to go, I did that.

Uh I behaved myself the way I was taught to behave while I was in church.

And then I continue on with the same life that I was living.

I didn't know anything better.

And when Jesus Christ came, that's what he came to.

A people uh who was on the outside was full of formalities.

And it's a wonderful picture that he gives us of that.

And the uh it's the 11th chapter of the book of Mark.

Um, how Jesus actually came to a fig tree, and that tree was full of leaves.

It was full of leaves, which showed signs of life.

But the Bible said he ran happily to that tree that he might eat thereof.

But when he got there, there was no figs.

There was just leaves on that tree.

And leaves is formality.

That's what it pictures.

And so Jesus looked up and down that tree and couldn't find a fig.

And so he said, No man eat fruit hereof forever.

And the next day that tree was uprooted and dried up, laid on the side.

And that's what God actually did to Israel.

He came to them, that is, through Jesus Christ, God the Father didn't come, but he sent the Son.

And when he looked for the fruits of righteousness, all he saw was formality.

He cursed that tree.

He's starting with the Pharisees.

He said, Woe unto you, Pharisees, scribes, hypocrites.

He said, You may clean the outside of the cup and the platter.

That's forms and types, that's a form of religion, a form of righteousness.

He said, You may clean the outside of the cup and the platter.

He said, But the inside is full of extortion in dead men bones.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees.

He's reeling on them.

Uh he was cursing them.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees.

You for pretense, you make long prayers, but you devour widows' houses.

And so you can see the Lord himself, he looked at that people, and because it was not a fruit-bearing people, he actually cut them off.

Jesus Christ himself made a statement warning Israel.

He said, the kingdom of God, that is a place where his laws was being taught.

Uh that's a place where his statutes was being uh exhumed.

And of course it was through the prophets, and supposed to have been through the priests.

And so he said, the kingdom of God should be taken away from you, that's the nation of Israel, and should be given to a nation that's gonna bang fruits thereof.

And that nation was, it was actually born in a day.

It was actually birth in one moment.

That seemed to be a miraculous thing, doesn't it?

And yet the Bible prophesied, he said, Who have heard of such a thing?

Uh can a nation be born at once?

Well, absolutely, that nation was.

Uh, that nation was in an incubator.

It was in an incubator for ten days.

Ten days after Jesus Christ had actually resurrected, he tabernacled on this earth for 40 days, uh, that is confirming the things that he had taught those disciples.

And once those things was confirmed, at the end of 40 days, he actually ascended back, uh, that is to third heaven where he came from, and he waited ten days until a certain time would actually come into fruition, and that was called the day.

The day of Pentecost is not the day that the uh the Holy Ghost dwelled in men.

The day of Pentecost was a religious, a Jewish religious day that represented the first fruits.

Uh we're going to get back into this wonderful book of Acts.

I'm just trying to touch on some things and bring our minds back together.

And so uh all those hollow days, all those holy days of the old covenant represented something spiritual.

And so uh one of the great feasts they had, of course, there were three uh great feasts.

Um was the uh uh the feast of unleavened bread, and the second was the feast of Pentecost, Feast of Pentecost, and the other one was called the Feast of England.

Uh but here it is, Jesus Christ, he was the Passover, he was the unleavened bread that a man could eat thereof and not die.

So he had fulfilled that feast, and now 50 days from the day of uh of uh Passover, 50 days later, that's why the word Pentecost means 50th, that would be the day of in-gathering.

Here's the New Testament church was one to be launched 50 days after Jesus Christ's crucifixion, and that church would not be birthed one day sooner nor one hour later.

And so Jesus Christ Himself, he had a designated plan.

I love the fact that God is not just some type of hit and miss God, he's a God of order.

He actually has a plan.

And thank God it can't be altered, it can't be hindered, it cannot be resisted, and it cannot be stopped.

And we're a people, we're striving to work with God, aren't we?

Uh everybody works for him, regardless of what you're doing, whether it's good or evil, you're doing, you're working for God.

An ungodly man, if you watch that man, he's preaching a message saying if you live this type of life, here's going to be the results of living like that.

But a man or a woman that submit themselves to God without opening his mouth, he's also proclaiming a message.

If you walk upright before the Lord, if you're faithful in the things of God, here's your end.

And so, uh, here's Jesus Christ as he began, and I like to go back a little bit before we get into this good word of God.

Jesus Christ, when he came, he came and he gathered the fruits.

The few little figs that was on that vine.

Uh, I'm sorry, grapes that was on that vine, a few figs that was on the tree.

Uh, the third chapter, here's the fundamental scripture.

Why are we spending so much time studying the Bible?

There was a church that came out almost 2,000 years ago.

That was called, we use the term the first century church because that church was birthed uh right about 30 A.D.

That was in the first century, uh the year of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And we call it a first century church.

Another term that we call it is the early church.

The early church.

There's an early church that pleased God, and there's going to be a latter, a latter range church that pleased God.

But there's a great gulf between the two.

It was almost a 2,000 year span of time.

And the Bible prophesies about that.

But uh before that church was birthed, Jesus Christ Himself, thank God, he actually came to the earth.

And he came as Machazedek would, he came looking for those whose heart was right toward him.

And John the Baptist, this is one of our fundamental scriptures, you want to always remember this.

Here he is at the end of the Jewish age.

And uh I'm using terms here.

Um I'm subject to questions and clarification because it's important that we get these things and give it biblically clear, get it biblically clear for ourselves.

Uh the Bible says in uh what is that Deuteronomy 27, he said, Woe unto him, woe unto him uh that set it light by mother or set it light by father.

A curse is he that set it light by mother.

I appreciate the things my mother taught me by right and wrong and moralities, and my father taught me by right and wrong, but I can't set my light by mother and set my light by father.

That was good for that day, but I got to set my light by the light of this word of God.

And uh the Bible says that word is a lamp, it's the light unto my feet, it's a lamp unto my pathway.

And so here's the light that we use is the good word of God.

Uh these are the things because I've come into maturity, I'm a grown adult.

And uh we're people of choices, we're able to make choices.

And our light, our understanding, the things we believe, has to be based on more than what mama and daddy taught us.

It has to be based on a conscience or convictions, and that should be based on the good word of God.

That's what the Bible talks about a pure conscience.

Uh, that's a conscience that has been taught the word of God, and it's not defiled with religious concepts or what uh moral, uh, not moral, what's the word, the social uh morals is concerned, but based upon nothing but the word of God is uncontaminated.

And so here's Jesus.

He came to the end of that Jewish age.

And as he came, John the Baptist, who was born six months earlier, he actually warned the people.

He actually warned the people what was going to happen.

Jesus Christ is a wonderful, he is a wonderful light for those who had eyes to see.

But do you know what he was?

Brother, he was a day of gloomness for those who couldn't see.

Uh, because after him, after when she when she rejected uh Jesus Christ, you had no chance for eternal life.

You had no chance for life at all.

So John the Baptist put it this way, he said, now, now, and this is a long span of time, of 42 generations had actually occurred.

He said, now is the axe laid to the root of the tree.

And of course, those trees, what is trees?

He's talking about a peach or orange tree?

Absolutely not.

That's talking about people.

That's talking about people.

He said, now is the axe laid to the root of the tree.

The axe is the word of God.

And he said, every tree that doesn't bring forth what?

Fruit is hewn down.

He was talking to the nation of Israel, not every man, but the nation of Israel.

He said, and every tree that doesn't bring forth fruit is a fruit is hewn down.

That means cut down and cast into the fire.

The fire that is making reference to eternal judgment, which was 78 D for the nation of Israel.

And I thank God, brother, but he didn't stop there.

He said, look, his fan, again, that's the word of God, is in his hand.

That was that New Testament ministry.

He said he's gonna thoroughly purge his floor, and that was the nation of Israel.

And the wheat, that's all the good, all the fruits, he's gonna put them into the garner.

That garner again was erected on the day of Pentecost.

The wheat he's gonna put into the garner, but the shaft.

Uh, that's the one that won't bear fruit.

Uh that's the one that's gonna be burnt.

He said the shaft he's gonna burn it with the what?

Unquenchable fire.

And so here he is.

Here's John the Baptist.

He was giving them a prelude.

He was trying to warn them.

But brother, those who had ears to hear could hear.

Those who heard John heard Jesus.

But those who rejected John were surely they rejected Jesus Christ.

And nevertheless, brother, that was a time that the Lord, now this is what I love about God.

There's a time, uh, there's a time and a season for judgment.

God doesn't judge anything before his time.

It doesn't make any difference what I did or what you did.

Thank God if I still have the blood running warm in my veins, Brother Michael, if I still have the uh the breath of life naturally in my nostrils, I still got a chance to get it right.

I still have a chance to repent and fall on the rock.

That's Jesus Christ, and be broken.

But if I don't, I'm gonna come into contact with the rock, but the rock will fall on me and grind me to powder.

And so I'm glad the Lord, I'm glad he doesn't judge anything before it's season.

We still have a chance, don't we?

And uh that's what we're all about, is that people were trying to get it right.

And so here he is, as Jesus Christ began uh to walk up and down the shores of Galilee, he's first trying to gather material to build this garner, to actually build a garner.

You know what a garner is?

Uh huh.

We use terms like a barn.

Uh it's a place where you put in the fruits.

And so uh there wasn't a safe place.

There was no place where the people of God that was in the nation of Israel or anywhere on this globe could really go in and be saved.

It was not a place because it had been defiled with the religious concepts of men.

Uh the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the Esoscenes, all those denominations of that day, all those denominations of that day, they all built their own homes, their own houses.

What do you mean houses?

Houses of worship.

Uh the Pharisees, uh, they said, okay, we're the way.

We're the way to the Father.

And so they built their sealed houses.

And uh, if you wasn't a Pharisee, then you wouldn't welcome in their churches.

And in the Sadducees, they had their houses.

And the Estherines, they had their houses.

Those all houses of worship.

But the Bible said, the house of the Lord, that's his people, it was lying waste.

And all those houses, the Bible calls them sealed houses.

You see what this uh this uh this material over your head?

Those are called sealant tiles.

This building has a ceiling on it, and that's something between us and the sky.

And uh all those homes, uh those houses of worship, the Bible called them sealed houses.

Uh, they had their own covering, and that's what separated the people from God.

If you were in the Pharisees' religion, you could only believe what the Pharisees say believe.

If you were in Esosene, you believe only what the Essexes say believe.

And so that was a sealed house.

Uh, the Lord couldn't get in there because you had a ceiling between you and the people.

And thank God, I'm glad, brother, we don't want a sealed house, do we?

And that's why we don't take on any name but the name of Christ, or we refuse to be take, we refuse to take on any title.

Uh, we're not, and I know we believe in the Holy Ghost, we're not a Pentecost people.

Uh, we believe in a Pentecostal experience.

If you're talking about the baptism of the Holy Ghost, uh, we're not Protestants, we're not protesting against anything, though we abstain from the teachings of Babylon.

Uh, we're not Baptists, though we baptize in water, we're not Methodists, though we do believe in being sanctified from the filthiness of the flesh.

We don't take on any titles but the body of Christ.

That's who we are.

We are his body, and he's our head, and we refuse any other title.

Amen?

And uh and so here it is, as Jesus Christ began to walk the shores of Galilee, began to gather materials.

And as he saw those men, uh there's a scripture.

Before we get to Acts, I just want to lay a little foundation here.

Uh I can quote this, but it's something that you'll want to read.

Uh it's in John chapter 2.

John 2 · chapter mention

It's a wonderful little verse.

A wonderful little verse.

A verse 24 and 25.

It's a verse we need to read.

And this is one you'd want to put under your fifth rib.

This is as Jesus was actually gracing this earth, uh, this globe that he created with his presence.

Verse 24.

Um give me someone to work the overhead projector will be real good tonight.

I don't know how many scriptures we're going to use, but I kind of feel a little flow.

Verse 24.

John 2 and 24.

But Jesus, are you there with me?

But Jesus did not commit himself unto them.

What's to them?

That's the people who was following him because they saw the miracles.

He didn't commit himself to them because he knew what?

He knew all men.

I don't mean knew the names.

He knew what they were persuaded, brother.

He knew more than that.

He knew all men, verse 25, and needed not that any should do what?

You didn't have to tell Jesus about the craftiness and the political nature of a man.

You didn't have to tell Jesus what's working in a man.

No one had to testify what was in man.

He needed not that any should testify of man, for he knew what was in man.

So when he said he knew man, he's talking about he knew what was in him.

And of course, that is consistent with the scriptures.

Hebrews 4 said the word of God is quick, powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword piercing through the divide and asunder.

He put up on the board, uh, 4 and 12 of the piercing through the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts.

Here's the part, and is a discerner of the thoughts and the what?

Intents of the heart.

And so God knows all men because he knows what's in our hearts.

And so as he began to gather materials, it's not materials that I would have chosen.

Uh it's not materials you would have thought much of, Brother Russell.

As he walked the shores of Galilee, he saw Peter and he spent time with Peter.

He had spent time with James.

He knew that Peter had a ferocious uh temper.

He absolutely did.

Do you know Peter walked around with a sword?

Did you know he was an armor bearer?

Do you know that man walked around with Jesus for three and a half years carrying a sword?

You think Jesus would have taken it from him?

How do you know he carried a sword, Brother Brown?

Because the night that Jesus Christ was, he took that sword out and cut off the serpent, the highest priest's ear, didn't he?

You think he was squeening that ear?

Do you think Peter said, Let me cut your ear off?

Brother, he was going for the juggler vein.

That servant just moved over a little bit and lost his ear.

And of course, that's what Peter's nature.

He had a ferocious temper.

And if you press him enough, he'll curse.

And Jesus Christ knew he would curse, and he knew that he beared a sword.

That didn't discourage him at all.

Absolutely not.

And he knew he had a filthy mouth, but that didn't discourage Jesus because man looks on the outer side, on the outer part, but God looks at the what?

He knew that in the course, in the very core, what was in Peter, this is what you and I can't do.

We can only judge according to appearance.

But John, what is that, 624?

Say, judge ye righteous judgment.

Jesus Christ was able to look at the heart of that man and knew that here is a man who's not a flake.

Here's a man that's not a shaft.

Here is a man that's not a pretender.

He is what he is.

And if he could just get his heart and turn his heart toward the things of God, that man will be a foundation.

And that's why he gave him the name of Cephas.

He changed his name from Cephas to Peter.

Peter is Cephas.

That means a rock.

He was a man that had structure, a man with some substance in him.

And Jesus gave him that nickname Peter, meaning a rock, a Cephas, is what that nickname means, which means a stone.

That's what it means, a stone.

But I wouldn't have seen that.

All I would have seen was a cursed man who carried a sword with a bad attitude.

I wouldn't want to be around him.

But Jesus called that man, and not only him, but he called his brother Andrew.

He said, Leave your net and follow me.

I'm going to make you what?

And so he was gathered materials.

He was actually gathered materials.

Went down a little bit further.

He was partners in business.

There's two other brothers, James and John.

And the Bible doesn't tell you a lot so much about their nature, but it tells you a lot about their family.

Jesus gave those brothers a name.

He called those men, those men uh sons of thunder.

Sons of thunders.

You know what thunder is, it's something loud, isn't it?

Evidently, for to have that name, either they were vulture or their father was, he called them sons of thunder.

And uh so he called those men and made those men become part of that goner.

And of course, uh we go on down, he saw a man sitting at the seat of customs, uh collecting taxes for the Roman government.

His name was called, he was Levi, and uh his name was Matthew's.

We read his gospel.

Uh he wrote the Gospel of Matthews, and we wouldn't have chosen that man.

He was a thief.

He was a traitor to the nation of Israel by collecting taxes for the Roman government and cheating and skimming off the top.

We wouldn't have chosen that man.

But Jesus saw something in that man's heart.

He knew he could use that man.

And thank God he gathered the materials together.

He chose twelve, and I'm gonna use this term, he chose twelve sticks of dynamite.

Twelve men that was gonna actually be more than just disciples.

There was gonna be men, the word apostles means sent.

There was gonna be men that he was gonna actually send out.

And of course, one of those, he said, have I not chose you twelve, and one of you is the devil?

Well, the Bible had to be fulfilled.

Jesus didn't make a mistake.

He did not make a mistake.

Uh he did exactly what the scripture had ordained.

He chose 12 men, and one of those men, uh, brother was going to kick up their heels against him, as the scripture says.

One of those men, one of those men was going to betray him, as the scripture said.

Well, who was it gonna be?

But it could have been any one of those twelve.

They all had the same opportunities.

Uh, that is to hear, they all had the same opportunity to wash themselves with the water of the word, but but somebody's heart was not gonna be right.

Somebody's conscience was not gonna be cleansed.

And uh, when that happens, then the Lord would use that instrument as an instrument of unrighteousness.

He would use that vessel as a vessel of dishonor.

And uh do you know you and I, everyone in the sound of my voice, we all are judging ourselves worthy or unworthy of eternal life.

If I hear the word of God and I receive it, if I hear the word of God and I uh I accept it, I appreciate it, then I'm I'm cleansing myself, I'm washing myself, but if I hear it and I become indifferent to it, if I hear it and I just don't give any credence to it, then my conscience becomes what?

Seared with a hot iron.

Okay, so then the Lord, he's righteous and giving me a spirit like I already have.

He sent me an unclean spirit to manifest what's already in me, and he uses that for his glory.

But back to the subject here, as he chose those twelve men, Brother Michael, he took those men, and they was all they all had problems.

All those men was unrighteous, but he taught those men for twelve, I'm sorry, for three and a half years.

And he's saying, Now are you cleansed.

Now follow me through the what?

Words which I have spoken to you.

He washed those men, not so much the habits and their uh the exterior, but he washed those men conscience until those men's conscience was righteous.

All they needed was the Holy Ghost to bring back to remembrance the things that he had taught them.

And so as he began to work with those men, now he was crucified.

I'm gonna try to speak up the pace before I lose too much time.

Now here he is.

After three and a half years, he had gotten a goner.

He had had uh twelve apostles, which would be the ministry.

He had 70 disciples, which would be the helps, and he had 120 trumpet blowers, which would be the birth of the New Testament church.

Uh the word disciple means disciplined followers.

There was actually 70 disciples, but all disciples was not the ministry, but all disciples were helps.

They were all helps.

And uh and of course, it wasn't just the 70 disciples, but there was also a total of 120, counting the women as well.

And so now he had a garner.

And once he was crucified, put to death, he stayed in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

He could not come out one hour early, and he couldn't stay one hour longer.

He stayed exactly in the grave, exactly 72 hours.

Exactly 72 hours.

The Bible says, He destroyed this temple and in three days.

And meaning it can't go no longer, then I will raise it up.

Another place he says, destroy this body, and after three days I'll raise it up.

So that's exactly at the seventh, at the 72nd hour he actually resurrected.

Okay, why is that important?

Well, because after 72 hours is when your body decays.

The 72nd hour your body began to decay.

The Bible said God the Father wouldn't suffer his holy one, which is Jesus Christ, to do what?

So he couldn't decay.

But yet he stayed there as long as he could stay in the grave without the can to substantiate, brother, that he was absolutely dead.

Spirit, soul, and body had ceased to exist.

There was no life in him.

He was absolutely dead.

And I'm glad about that.

You know why?

Because he tasted death for every man.

So we don't have to die.

Thank God, brother, he wasn't comatose.

Uh-huh.

He didn't pass out.

He was dead.

Aren't you glad about that?

Brother, he was dead.

I mean, toenail cut off, dead.

And so you can see here he is, brother.

Those people, though they had been walking with him, their eyes, the Bible said, were still holing.

They thought, surely this is it.

He's over with, and the things that we had confidence in, it just didn't come to fruition.

And so Peter, he said, I'm going fishing.

The other disciples said, Well, we're going too.

But thank God, you know that Jesus Christ, brother, even though we're we pray this prayer, Lord, help our unbelief.

Do you know what Jesus did?

He manifested himself on the seashore while those men was yet fishing.

And so he proved to them by infallible proofs that he had risen from the grave.

How?

He took fish and he ate it.

A ghost don't eat, does it?

He ate it right before them.

And then he gave those men instructions.

That is, that they should actually tarry.

We read that last week in the city of Jerusalem until they be endued with power from on high.

And this book of Acts is the only history.

There is no more history in the Bible of this New Testament church.

If you don't know where you came from, then surely you don't know where you're going.

And you have to understand your history.

My history doesn't go back, and I appreciate my mother for the time I was in the Bee Church, but my history and what I'm ascribing to doesn't go back to the Bee Church.

I thank God for the charismatic world where I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, but I'm not going back to that.

And thank God for men like Roger Williams, and I thank God for men like Martin Luther, but that's not what we're going back to.

Our foundation goes all the way back to this church that you see in the book of Acts.

There's not another church on the globe on the face of this earth, regardless of what you may see and hear, there's not a church on this earth that pleased God like this first century church did.

It pleased them in all of its doings.

It had problems, and I'm glad it did, because that's the record that you and I have of how we handle problems in the kingdom of God.

What made that church so special was not because it had problems, it was because of how they dealt with it.

It had government, it had order, it had standards, it had convictions, and thank God it had a righteous ministry, which the Bible used to term a white throne judgment.

There was no Adam in that judgment seat.

And so here they are.

Let's get into this good book of Acts now.

We'll pick up where we left off.

And I need to stop, and I will stop and clarify anything I say.

We're going to move a little bit expeditiously as we can pick up the time because we want to read this book.

We're going to take the time and actually go through this book and squeeze out.

I mean, every verse is so impregnated.

We can actually go a little bit deep in each one.

We won't do that, but we'll give you enough oil of understanding that when you read it, you'll understand what you're reading.

Some things are going to cross your concepts and your belief and things you've been told and things you heard.

Well, let's let God be true in what?

Every man alive.

That's all we ask.

And you're free to you're free to express your difference and we'll uh substantiate whatever we believe by the good word of God.

Whoever is right, it doesn't make any difference.

If I'm wrong, I want to be corrected.

We read uh that is in chapter one.

Where do we stop at?

I forgot, I'm sorry.

Who knows where we stopped at?

Verse 8.

Okay.

And uh if you haven't read, I'm sure you have, uh, these first eight verses, and there's no doubt I'm sure you have, it is a verse, verse seven and eight, verse eight especially, is a verse you hear quoted, and all of the uh, when I use the word Pentecost, I'm not talking about a denomination.

I'm making reference to Holy Ghost filled people.

All of the Pentecostal world, you'll hear verse 8.

But this Bible, Acts, is what much so much more than Acts 1 and 8.

And Acts uh 238 is so much more than that.

Uh so much more than that.

But it is a wonderful thing to understand.

Verse 8, here's a people that didn't have the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

That's talking about those apostles, and we'll start from verse 8.

He makes a statement to them.

Well, in verse 7, he said unto them that them there is making reference to the apostles.

The apostles.

And of course you see that in verse 2.

Okay, so verse 7, he's talking to the apostles only, not the disciples and the apostles, but the apostles.

Verse 7.

He said unto them, it is not for you to know the times of the season which the Father has put in his own power.

That's because of the state they was in.

They were still walking as men.

Verse 8.

But you shall receive what?

Power.

In other words, you're going to receive the qualifications.

The Lord will let you know times and seasons.

He'll let you know the things that are coming upon this earth.

He'll take the things that's his.

That's one of the things that Jesus Christ said the Holy Ghost would do.

He will take the things of his father and he will show them unto them.

And so you shall receive power when?

After that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and let's remember that term.

It's come upon you.

And that's important because it's a difference between having the Holy Ghost in you and upon you.

But that's it.

Remember that term.

It's come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaritans, and the ultimate parts of the earth.

Now that concludes his message to them.

Those are the last words that Jesus gave to his apostles before he ascended back to third heaven.

That was the end of his message.

No more talking to them until they received this power.

Verse 8 and verse 9 now.

And when he has spoken these things, this is the conclusion of it, while they beheld, that word means looking at him, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Verse 10, it must have been an amazing thing to actually see with your eyes.

To watch Jesus Christ, whom you have just handled, your ears have heard his words, your eyes is laid upon a bodily form, to watch this man ascend up into heaven, and then a cloud received him.

And no doubt they was a dazed by that.

Verse 10 said, And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven, as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in what?

Well, that's one of the marvel marvelous things about the Bible.

It's full of golden nuggets.

And uh it's the job of the ministry to shine those stones so you cannot kick them.

And see, this is a golden nugget.

Uh, those two men aren't just men.

And how do we know that?

Well, that's one of your golden nuggets in that same verse.

He said, Two men stole uh stood by them in what?

There's a key.

That's a golden nugget.

He didn't call those men angels, but what he did describe was those men in white apparel.

Now, that just seemed you would think a man put on a white robe.

That's not what it's talking about.

Whenever you see that term in this Bible, uh white apparel, or uh I think one place he described in Brother Michael, he said they was in white apparel so white that no fuller, which is a bleach on the earth, could make it any whiter.

Well, that's uh that's the word white apparel has to do with a celesteral covering, a celestial heavenly.

Uh white apparel is these are celesteral beings.

Uh that's what you and I are striving for.

We're striving to have a white apparel.

Uh let's look at some scriptures along those lines.

This is the key.

This is how we know this is angels.

Uh, Revelation, let's go to Revelation 3, and it's throughout your Bible, but let's let's go to Revelation 3 real quick.

And oftentimes the Bible uses the term men and it's talking about angels.

But the context will let you know what he's talking about.

Let's go to three and um let me see here.

Brother Michael, help me out if you will.

And pick it up in the what verse do I want?

Three and five.

And three and eighteen, read those two verses.

I'll I'll read it in, Brother Mike, when you get your mic.

He that are you there with me?

Let's read it again.

Let's read it together.

Revelation three and five.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in what?

There you go.

Say it again.

Same shall be clothed in what?

White raiment is the same thing as white garment or white apparel.

That's your covering.

It's gonna be a celestial body, and I would not blot out his name out of the book of life, but will confess his name before my and before his angels.

Look at verse 18 also.

Are you there with me?

He said, uh, let's read it together.

I counsel thee to buy of me what?

Gold tried in the what?

That thou mayest be rich as in the things of God and what?

White raiment, and that thou may be clothed in what?

And white ramen.

White ramen.

And uh that terminology, white apparel, that's never used, that is never used to a celestial or terrestrial person.

No one on this earth has a white stone.

No one on this earth has a white apparel.

Absolutely night.

That's a celesteral body.

That's a new body.

There's no Adam in it.

There is it's not contaminated.

Adam got his body out of the earth.

God formed man out of the what?

Dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the and he became a living soul.

And so you're earthly.

We're cornal, that is his body.

But a white stone or a white apparel, that's heavenly.

That's made out of heavenless substance.

Here's the difference.

Doesn't matter how I desire to, I cannot go into that kitchen unless I open that door.

I can't go through the wall.

That wall is the natural boundary.

That's because I'm terrestrial and that wall is terrestrial.

It limits me.

But if I'm made out of heavenly substance, like Jesus was when he got out of the grave, like the angelic hosts are, that wall is not a barrier.

Absolutely not.

The Bible said while the door was yet shut, Jesus appeared to them.

He had a white apparel.

Angels appear and they disappear.

That's white apparel.

It's not restricted by the laws of gravity, the laws of physics.

That's for the terrestrial, that's for the earthly.

But thank God the heavenly, brother, as a spiritual substance.

Am I making any sense to you?

And so here these two men, brother, they're dressed in white apparel.

Brother, these are not natural men.

At this time, no man had white apparel.

It was only the third heaven angels.

Are you with me?

Since that day there's men who have gotten white apparel.

Remember when he opened the fifth seal?

He said, How long, O Lord, true and holy, thou not avenged the blood of our blood on them that dwell in the earth?

And it was told of them to wait a little season till their feathered brethren should be slain like unto they were.

And that was given unto them what?

White robes white robes.

They were given new or celestial bodies.

Let's read a little bit of that.

Put it up for me, please.

That's Revelation what 5?

6.

Revelation 6, I'm sorry.

6 and 9.

And so it's words.

The Bible will interpret itself.

It absolutely will.

We need to open the fifth seal.

I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.

And they cried, How long?

O Lord, holy and true, that I'll now judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth.

These are the souls that are under the altar.

And what?

Say it again.

And what?

White robes was given unto what?

Every one of them.

That's the overcomers who had already made it.

But up to this time, no one who had dwelt on the earth had white robes or white apparels.

There's another scripture in Revelation chapter 7, Brother Michael.

He used the term, they made their robes white.

But that just simply means, brother, they overcame in this body, and that body became heavenly, a heavenly substance.

That's Revelation chapter 7.

I'm sorry?

7 and 9, that's another good one.

Let's read there.

I don't want to belabor that too much.

Revelation 7 and 9.

He said, After this I beheld and lo, a great multitude which no man could number, of all nations and kindreds, and people and tongues stood before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes.

Clothed with what?

White robes.

So we know here's people, here is people that have obtained to eternal life.

Immortality.

Let me use that terminology.

That's a biblical expression.

They had obtained to immortality.

So that's a white robe.

That's white apparel.

That's heavenless substance.

And that's enough on that.

Let's go back to Acts.

And so here's these two men.

And the Bible often called angels men.

Do you remember over in Genesis?

Remember Genesis 19?

When the Lord appeared unto Abraham?

He appeared as a man.

It was Abraham and it was two other angels.

And it was the Lord, I'm sorry, and two other angels.

Well the Lord stayed and talked to Abraham, but those other two angels kept going in the next in chapter 20, it called them two men.

But then it let on, keep reading, let you know those two men was angels.

So it called men angel.

Why did he call men angels?

I call angels men.

I'll tell you why, because they appeared as men.

If I seen an angel he didn't have no body like a man, I'm gonna say I seen a ghost and take off running.

But they appeared as men.

They looked like a man in every natural form.

But brother, there was something celestial about it, and their garments showed what they were.

Let's keep reading.

Okay.

And two men stood by them, verse 11 now, which also said, Here's these two men.

They had a message.

That's what an angel is, it's just a messenger.

That's what they is, which said, Ye men of Galilee.

He's talking to those 11.

Because Judas Iscariot had betrayed the Lord and actually hung himself.

He said, You men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?

Why are you still looking?

Why are you gazing?

This same Jesus, this is not the end.

This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in what?

That's another key.

Shall so come in like manner as you've seen him go into heaven.

How do you see him go into heaven?

In a cloud.

He's seen him go in a cloud.

Well, a cloud in the Bible, uh, that's a metaphor.

A cloud is a cloud of witnesses.

That's what that is.

And uh, if you've seen him go into heaven and that wonderful manifold of a cloud, he's gonna come in a cloud.

Not a physical cloud, the way religions tell you, he's gonna come down on a cloud.

What would he do on a cloud?

That cloud is a cloud of witnesses.

Uh Paul uses that term.

Uh, what is that?

Hebrews chapter 11.

Is that 12 and 1?

Wherefore, seeing we are also compassed about, there it is on the board.

With the what?

So great a what?

Cloud of witnesses.

What was that cloud of witnesses?

Well, he called those men named, if you read up a little bit earlier.

He called men like Enoch, men like Abram, men like Abraham, I'm sorry, Isaac and Jacob.

He called them clouds of witnesses.

And then in Revelation 1 and 7, let's go over that real quick.

And here he is.

This is Jesus.

1 and 7.

Do we have a war?

Behold, he cometh with what?

Well, what are those clouds?

Those are clouds of witnesses.

That's talking about a restored church.

Jesus Christ is not going to come back on a physical cloud, but he's going to come back in the hearts of people who's walking in shoe leather that's manifesting all of its attributes.

Thank God, brother, they'll see eye to eye, there will be no strife, no division.

There will be no difference between them.

That's a cloud of witness that's going to actually be a judgment seat.

It's going to be, let me correct that, a white throne judgment seat to this Gentile world.

What judged that Jewish age was a white throne judgment.

That was the early reign church.

What's going to judge this Gentile world is a white throne judgment.

That's the latter reign church.

And uh that's not the subject, but I'm putting this out, and I'm always subject to question.

We can clarify it and show it by a preponderance of scriptures.

But uh let's keep reading.

Back to Acts.

Am I going too too deep for you?

Are you with me?

Yes, that's a fabric.

Give her a mic for the benefit of the C D.

That's okay.

Um with Jesus after he uh shows himself to the apostle.

Um it says in uh in Luke 24, it says that um when uh he broke the bread and their eyes were open and he uh they knew him and he vanished out of their sight.

But a little later on it talks about how he showed the echo and what form is showing himself.

Is he showing himself in a celestial being or is he showing himself in a physical?

I'm I'm so glad you asked that.

First of all, this is a wonderful thing about a celestial body.

Um that body, that body can manifest all of the attributes of any physical, a terrestrial body.

It can walk on the earth and yet it can ascend.

Uh I'll give you a picture.

Uh I didn't, but Paul uses this.

And 1 Corinthians chapter 15.

1 Corinthians 15 · chapter mention

He says there's body terrestrials and there's body celesterals.

The glory of the terrestrial is one and the glory of the celestial is the other.

Uh that's a picture of heavenly things.

You ever watch uh a dog or a cat?

It walks on the earth.

That's a picture of a dog, a cat, a rat, a man, women, we're all terrestrial.

We're earthbound.

This is just a picture now.

It's earthbound.

But you ever watch a you ever watch a bird?

You ever watch a geese?

It walks on the earth, but it also can take wings and fly.

It's not bound to just the earth.

It can do everything that an animal that's terrestrial to do.

It walks on the earth.

It submits itself to the laws of gravitation, it walks on the earth.

But then all of a sudden, it becomes heavenly.

It can fly, it can ascend.

Are you following me?

And so the celesteral can do what the terrestrial do, but the terrestrial can't do what the celesteral do.

That duck and geese and all those files of the air, they can walk on the earth.

But they also can be heavenly.

That is, they can get in the air.

But you, I don't care how I run behind you.

I don't care how you wish you could, you're not getting off the earth.

You're absolutely not, you can't do it.

Let's read that a little bit.

1 Corinthians chapter 15.

1 Corinthians 15 · chapter mention

And the point I'm making, Sister Fabby, is that Jesus Christ could eat.

He could drink.

He could let you hammer him.

He didn't have any blood.

He said, Hammer me, uh spirit have not flesh and bones as you see me with.

He didn't have flesh and blood.

The life of the creatures in the blood.

He wasn't living.

The reason you have blood right now, that's how you sustain your life.

It's in your blood.

With a celestial body, once you have immortality, your life is not from your blood any longer.

You'll live entirely by the Holy Ghost, the spirit of life.

I don't know how we got on that, but we own it.

Give me 1 Corinthians 15.

Yeah, that's good.

All flesh is what?

Not the same flesh.

This is just a metaphor.

We're showing you a picture here.

He says, all flesh is not the same flesh.

Well, what do you mean by that, Paul?

Well, he's going to explain it.

There is one kind of flesh of men and another beast and another fish and another bird.

Now, just like you see all those different kinds of bodies, beast, bird, fishes, those different types of bodies.

Read the next verse.

There are also what?

Celestial is heavenly.

There's also celestial bodies.

A celesteral just as a heavenly.

That's just like a bird.

It can get in the air.

That's the metaphor of an overcomer, of someone who has immortality or an angelic being.

Okay?

He says there are also celestial bodies and there are what?

Terrestrial is earthbound bodies.

That's those that are limited to the earth.

Just a natural body.

No matter how you try, you can't have the attribute of a celesteral.

Then he goes on.

He said the glory of the celestial is what?

Is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

Well, Jesus Christ, when he went into the heart of the earth, he was just all man.

But when he resurrected, that was a glorified body.

That was a celestial body.

When they rolled the stone away, it was not so Jesus could get out of it.

They rolled the stone away so you could see he wasn't in there.

He didn't need you to roll the stone away for him.

That was that that would be a witness that he was not here, he was risen.

And so he appeared and disappeared as it pleased him.

What form did he appear in?

Whichever form it pleased him.

He walked with his disciples and they didn't know who he was.

Next time he showed himself.

But he had a body.

It wasn't a ghost, it was a body.

But it was celesteros, made out of heavenly substance.

Let's go back to John just a little bit.

I think I quoted this, a reference this.

I didn't quote it, but uh maybe we'll just read a little bit of it.

I think it's pretty good.

Um go to John chapter chapter 20, please.

Verse 26.

And after eight days, this is after Jesus Christ's crucifixion.

And after eight days again, his disciples was with him, and Thomas was with him.

Then came who?

Are you there with me?

I can wait for you.

Verse 26.

Then uh read the board because I'm I know I flip a lot of scriptures, and I'm trying to make it easy.

He said, then came who?

Now listen to this.

Here's another key.

The what?

He didn't open the door.

The door being shut, it says.

So he didn't use the door.

It's kind of interesting, isn't it?

Keep reading.

And he stood in the midst and said, Peace be unto you.

Then said he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger.

He heard Thomas.

Why?

Thomas made a statement.

Verse uh 25.

Verse 24.

Then said Thomas, one of the twelve called Didymus, which was not with them when Jesus came, and the others therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord.

But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails.

I knew he was crucified.

I'm not gonna believe you've seen them unless I see the prints of the nails.

And put my fingers in the prints of the nail, I want to do it myself.

And thrust my hand in his side, I'm not gonna believe it.

Well, he didn't want to lose Thomas.

And so Thomas had to, he told what was in his heart.

He had to put his hands in the nail print and thrust his hands in his side.

He said, I'm not gonna believe it.

And so that's what the Lord made happen.

Now, let's keep reading.

Verse 27.

This time when he came, uh Thomas was there.

Then said he to Thomas, and so you know he heard Thomas, though he wasn't in the room.

Then said he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger and behold my what?

And uh reach hither thy hand and thrust into my what?

In my side, and be not what?

My God.

But believing.

So he manifested a physical body, but it still was celestial.

Because the door says, the Bible says, while the door was what?

Yet shut.

Let me see you go through that shut door.

You can't do it.

And he wasn't Houdini, he appeared often.

He can do that.

Every celesteral being, a third heaven being, a white robe, you will all have that same, we will all have that same attribute.

Everyone who gets a white robe will have no limitations by the laws of nature and laws of physics.

That's the natural.

I guess to some people it's sound like a fairy tale, doesn't it?

But it's not a fairy tale.

It happens too many times in this Bible.

When angels appear and disappear, that's the Lord sending a messenger, and those men do whatever's necessary.

When Gabriel appeared unto uh Zachariah in that temple, how'd he get in there, brother Elton?

If they saw a man walking on their stone, that man for walking behind that veil, he appeared and he never walked out and he went out.

He talked, he had a body.

Well, praise the Lord.

That gets me excited.

My God.

Verse 19, someone said, Yeah, verse 19.

Um the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors was what?

Where the disciples was assembled for fear of the Jews, came what?

And stood in the midst.

Why does he keep telling you that?

There's something supernatural transpiring here.

And so uh when you saw Jesus ascend, you know man can just float into the air, ascending back to heaven.

That was a glorified body.

He wasn't he wasn't uh a little Latin, he didn't need a carpet to fly, he didn't need a clown to ascend on.

That's a metaphor.

Back to Acts.

Is that enough on that?

Continue your mic on.

Just a little bit about that white throne judgment.

You kind of touched on it a little bit.

I mean I think uh kind of you know uh guy just for just clarification to my mind.

We all talk about you know, we all talk about eating and being at that white throne judgment and who actually is gonna be there and stuff like that.

But what you telling us now that that's that's that's a people that has perfected themselves to the state where they to that level that's gonna judge this world.

Is that is that what you're saying?

A white in the Bible denotes, you know, purity, undefiled, cleanse.

A judgment seat, a judgment seat, the Bible says we shall all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.

Well, the judgment seat of Christ is his ministry.

Okay.

But we're not on white throne judgment because we're not seeing eye to eye in the earth.

Uh you may go to another assembly and you may see certain things that we know is contrary to our convictions in this Bible.

And they, by the same token, may see things where we're concerned that may be shortcoming.

And so uh, if I judge, say for instance, Brother Elton, Brother X over here, is noted, marked, disfellowshipped.

And uh maybe could never come to this assembly again for things that he's done.

Maybe he worked against the people, worked iniquity.

But maybe he can go to uh to Greensboro, or maybe he can go to Macomb somewhere and be eternally saved.

We can't eternally judge anybody.

We cannot.

The ministry is not a white throne judgment.

But that first century church, when those men pronounced judgment on you, you was gone.

Now, if you just fellowship you, uh maybe for some things that's against the body as a whole, you have to give that a right, you can go no assemblist.

But maybe you just worked against this church.

And uh you didn't cause any great harm, but the things that you said uh would bring a reproach if we let you come back here.

Uh maybe, for instance, you've done some things against God's people to let you come back in this assembly will cause the people to stumble.

You will, we can we can reconcile you, but you can't restore, you're not here.

You have to go somewhere else.

Uh that first century church, you didn't have that chance.

When Ananias of fire was judged, that was the end of them.

That was eternal judgment.

That was a white throne judgment.

And uh, when the church is restored, it'll be the same thing.

I may I try not to be biased at all by the grace of God.

I try not to have any diver weights in my bags, the diver measurements.

But I could possibly have it and not know it.

But that first century church didn't have any.

There was none.

And the latter reigned church won't have any.

There will be none.

And so, whatever, look what Jesus told Peter, whatsoever you bind on the earth is bound in heaven.

That's the end of it.

Whatever you loose on earth will be loose in heaven.

That's the end of that.

Whatever those men said, the Lord said, Amen.

Everything.

Well, we don't have that type of authority.

There's a judgment seat, there is a judgment seat, but that judgment seat only extends as far as disassembly.

We can't judge anybody eternally.

But that first century church as well as the latter rain church would do that.

When the Latter rain ministry is reaped, Brother Elton, that's going to be a Jewish ministry.

1,000 years they're going to perfect judgment through those seven trumps and seven vows.

And so that's going to be a white throne judgment.

That final resurrection, when they get up, they're not going to go before God the Father.

A Jewish ministry is going to be on the earth.

And when you reject them, you would, you, that's their white throne judgment.

You rejected the Lord.

God is the one sitting on that by sitting on the heart of those men.

And that's why when Peter told uh was Ananias.

And Sapphira.

So you hadn't lied on me.

You lied unto the Holy Ghost, unto God, because the Holy Ghost is a God.

No Adam.

There was no malice in Peter's judgment.

None.

And he simply just lied at the wrong time.

Well, he did.

Well put.

Well put, brother Elton.

But that listen, when you when you're judged by a ministry with absolutely no Adam in it, that's your white throne judgment.

There is no other provisions made for you.

You're eternally judged.

That is the end of you.

Paul damned people.

I mean, he pulled the shades down, he actually damned people.

And you couldn't get back.

Peter damned people.

People say we're a savior of life to them that live and a savor of death to them that die.

A matter of fact, let's go to Acts chapter 8.

Acts 8 · chapter mention

I'm going to show you something.

Those men could pronounce eternal judgment.

Not judgment.

I say eternal judgment on you.

The latter reign church, we look forward to it.

It's going to be perfect order, Brother Elton, but it's going to be perfect judgment.

You're talking about eternal judgment.

I don't mean being noted and being marked and being reproved and being dis.

I'm talking about eternal judgment.

When Paul said, I delivered them over to Satan, they made, brother, that was it.

Look at chapter 8.

My God.

Look at verse 18, 8 and 18.

When Simon saw the land on the apostles' hand, the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money.

Verse 20.

But Peter said unto them, Your money do what?

Because thou hast thought the gift of God may be purchased with money.

He said, For thou hast neither part nor lot in this what?

For your heart is not what?

Man, that's judging this man.

You're judging that man.

I can say, brother, your action is not right.

I can say your behavior is wrong.

But brother, when I make statements like that, I'm judging you.

And Jesus Christ said, Don't judge that you what?

Be not judged.

But this man is judging a perfect judgment.

He's looking right into this man's heart and pronouncing a judgment on him.

He gave him a chance, though, brother Elton, by his mercy.

He gave him a chance.

Look what he says.

He said, Do what?

Repent therefore of this thy and you pray God that prevents you, the thoughts of your hearts may be forgiven you.

Brother, the Bible says a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God.

And that's where this man felt he was in the hands of a living God.

That ministry.

Those men was not, uh, you look at them natural, but they weren't somebody you found that piggy wiggles and TG and Y.

That was the judgment seat and the authority of God on the earth.

That's what they were.

Look how much authority Jesus gave them.
