  1. Lift up your Bible. Say, "This is my

  2. Bible. This is my It is God's word. It

  3. is God's word. It reveals to me reveals

  4. to me God's will. God's will. Therefore,

  5. it is the final authority. It is the

  6. final authority to which I submit to

  7. which I submit to settle all the issues

  8. all the issues of my life." of my life.

  9. It is the standard It is the standard of

  10. my conduct of my conduct and the basis

  11. the basis of all my expectations. of all

  12. my expectations. Shout it out. I am. I

  13. am what it says I am. what it says I am.

  14. I possess I possess what it says I

  15. possess. What it says I And I can do I

  16. can do absolutely everything. Absolutely

  17. everything it says I can do. It says I

  18. can. Turn and tell your neighbor, I know

  19. that's right. I know that's right. Amen.

  20. We thank God. Children's Sunday. Amen.

  21. We saw our young people in here giving

  22. God the glory.

  23. Oh, they were all up front laid out.

  24. I saw him in between tissue

  25. cuz I just, you know, it's funny how you

  26. sing the songs and then he reminds you

  27. in that moment. No. Yeah. What you've

  28. been going through, I'm using that to

  29. work something in you.

  30. And you know, it just wow. Um, we had a

  31. phenomenal chop it up on on uh Amen. Who

  32. was anybody get a chance to listen if

  33. you didn't see Chop It Up? because you

  34. know Wednesday y'all stared me down. It

  35. was okay, but I knew God was saying

  36. something too important to just let it

  37. drop. So, please go back and you uh to

  38. watch that. And of course, you know,

  39. we're super excited that um Father's Day

  40. is coming. Yeah, it was yesterday

  41. morning, Saturday morning. It was 8:00.

  42. So, those of y'all that were up 8:00 on

  43. Saturday,

  44. you were up.

  45. You made a See, that's when you know

  46. folk ain't usually up that early. They

  47. make sure they make a comment that day.

  48. They want folk I'm just missing. Well,

  49. turn in your Bibles with me as we have

  50. something very, very important to

  51. minister on today. And we are still

  52. focused on the fact that we have to be

  53. committed to kingdom, excuse me, to

  54. connection. We have to have a commitment

  55. to our covenant connections. Amen. Huh.

  56. Amen. And there are certain hindrances.

  57. Okay, we saw from Wednesday and Saturday

  58. sometimes seeing the success of others,

  59. right?

  60. Can really be a challenge, okay?

  61. Especially if you feel as if you have

  62. offered the same thing to God and it

  63. doesn't look like it has been accepted.

  64. Okay, I just leave that for you. So

  65. here's something else today uh that is

  66. very vital. We will all need

  67. this and it is this issue of

  68. unforgiveness.

  69. Yeah. Yeah. So the scripture in Luke 17

  70. talks about

  71. forgiveness. So I want to encourage us

  72. from this faith to forgive.

  73. faith to forgive. We're always blown

  74. away at stories where people have

  75. forgiven these huge debts. We're always

  76. blown away by it. And we read it. We

  77. look at Joseph and his brothers, how

  78. they did him wrong. He forgave them.

  79. Amazing story, right? We look at the

  80. prodal son. Dad, I know you ain't dead,

  81. but I'mma pretend. Can I have my stuff

  82. early?

  83. Then you go waste it. and the father

  84. forgives and we generally are always

  85. crying. We love it. We see Esau and

  86. Jacob where Jacob tricked Esau out of

  87. his stuff. Esau had a weak character as

  88. did as did Jacob. But uh Jacob was

  89. sneaky

  90. and he tricked him out and Esau forgave

  91. him because he realized you don't have

  92. to hurt the people that hurt you.

  93. Uhhuh. Yeah. Nelson Mandela was captured

  94. for 27 years and came out not asking

  95. people to be resentful

  96. because he understood. See, when you are

  97. resentful, it's like you drinking poison

  98. and waiting for them to die.

  99. Yeah. He said, "No, we need we need to

  100. release it and move forward." Tyler

  101. Perry, we all are very much aware of him

  102. and how he tells of how his father was

  103. so very abusive and the dark roads it

  104. led him down, but he forgave and we just

  105. Oh, that's amazing. When you look at

  106. those I never forget reading about those

  107. ladies that had been held for a decade.

  108. you going to kidnap and rape

  109. continually people for a

  110. decade. And the girl got out and forgave

  111. him because she recognized if I do not

  112. forgive, I am chaining myself to an

  113. incident that hurt me.

  114. So by the time we get to Luke 17, we

  115. ought to be motivated just hearing this,

  116. we ought to be motivated to forgive. And

  117. let us not forget one of the hallmark

  118. teachings that God has given us here uh

  119. from the story where Jesus is talking

  120. about the swer sewing the word and he

  121. sowed some in you know y'all remember

  122. stony ground and all that other but then

  123. it said he sowed the good word the good

  124. seed into good ground but it brought

  125. forth some 30 some okay y'all sleep you

  126. remember the story got to work with me

  127. and push your neighbor in in case they

  128. still up under the glory

  129. cloud. It brought forth some 30, some

  130. 60, and some 100fold. And we've talked

  131. about over the years, you can be a good

  132. soil kind of person and have left some

  133. rocks and weeds in you

  134. and you will not produce on the level

  135. that you should. And you say, "Well, 30

  136. is better than nothing." But what what

  137. of value is in the other 70? I can't

  138. hold something against somebody no

  139. matter how agitated, irritated, hurt, or

  140. mad I may be. Because that thing that

  141. they did to me is not nearly as

  142. destructive as what I do to myself if I

  143. hold it. Because now I'm not just

  144. dealing with the past. I'm shutting down

  145. the potential of my future.

  146. And I'll be dog, you might have got me

  147. then, but I'm not going to let you get

  148. me for the rest of my life.

  149. [Applause]

  150. But I also recognized that being willing

  151. to forgive is different from being

  152. postured in forgiveness.

  153. Read, read, read, read for us, Re

  154. Angela, read for us. Luke 17:1. Y'all

    Luke 17:1

  155. went down off that one. See, because let

  156. me go and tell you why. They mad. They

  157. don't they not they done shut down.

  158. Being willing, you know, it makes it

  159. seem like on a case-byase basis, you

  160. going to make a judgment.

  161. I'm willing to for No, no, no, no. Jesus

  162. wants us postured in forgiveness. I'm

  163. going to talk about it. Read the verse.

  164. I just wanted to go on, you know, while

  165. we fighting. Then said he unto the

  166. disciples. Uhuh. And don't do that. I

  167. saw that look. I saw y'all. Don't look

  168. up here like I don't know nothing about

  169. this.

  170. Like I haven't been portrayed

  171. and hung up in front of people with lies

  172. thrown on me to to be Don't do it. Don't

  173. Don't act like I don't know what it is

  174. to have been molested by somebody. Oh no

  175. no no. Don't get quiet and start trying

  176. to smile at me. No. Let's talk.

  177. Oh no. Let's talk. You You almost can't

  178. come up with a scenario. I've not been

  179. through.

  180. So, I'm both up here and in the pew,

  181. too.

  182. Okay. Now, let's read together as a

  183. family. I hear you, Dr. Alicia. Come on.

  184. Let's read. Luke 17. Then said he unto

  185. the disciples. Yeah. It is impossible,

  186. but that offenses will come. Yes. Junk

  187. don't happen. Come on. But woe unto him.

  188. You make sure you ain't the one doing

  189. it. I'm sorry. Read. Through whom they

  190. come. Yeah. It were better for him that

  191. a milestone were hanged about his neck.

  192. Yeah. And that he cast into the sea.

  193. Throw him in the sea. That then that he

  194. should offend one of the little ones.

  195. Yeah. So take heed to yourself. Now

  196. let's just stop there for a second.

  197. So the statement being willing to

  198. forgive is different from being postured

  199. in forgiveness.

  200. When I say forgiveness, this is some of

  201. the stuff I'm talking about. It mean uh

  202. Dr. Claire was talking with the teens

  203. and she asked me, she said, "Bishop, do

  204. you have a definition for

  205. forgiveness and I said, I don't have one

  206. that I have quote unquote made popular

  207. or tried to set out as like a Rosie

  208. O'Neal definition or whatever." I said,

  209. "But it for me means before time I give

  210. space for the shortcoming and flaws of

  211. others."

  212. To forgive is to give space before it's

  213. needed. That's right. Recognizing that

  214. people have shortcomings and they have

  215. flaws so that everything that occurs

  216. does not put the relationship in

  217. jeopardy.

  218. I'll say that again.

  219. It is to give forgive to what? Forgive.

  220. So be this just the way I you understand

  221. it to before the need. Yes. I've already

  222. given space

  223. that for the flaws and and and

  224. shortcomings of others so that every

  225. action does not now put the relationship

  226. in jeopardy.

  227. Some of us are like string when we ought

  228. to be like rubber bands.

  229. It's a good thing you preached on that

  230. offering cuz they get tighter and

  231. tighter as we sit here

  232. string. If if I just take a little thin

  233. piece and I imagine the thread or

  234. something and and you you put it in

  235. there, it's small. You just get you a

  236. little circle. You ain't getting but so

  237. much in there cuz it doesn't have give

  238. built into it. That's why we don't have

  239. long-term relationships many times cuz

  240. we don't have give built into us. People

  241. aren't. Oh, we're where We're I I know

  242. you don't know. Look at the person

  243. beside you. Say, it's hard for me to

  244. believe, but you're not perfect. I

  245. can't. It's shocking. I just Oh my god,

  246. it's shocking. I'm just Let me check to

  247. be sure. Darn. He even got a metal on

  248. his neck. You It's

  249. shocking. But

  250. mother, we're

  251. not. We're not. If you if you come into

  252. a relationship with no give. Wow.

  253. You come into it say, "Well, we going to

  254. go on and get married." But I'm telling

  255. you now, see, oh Lord,

  256. oh Lord, you you ain't even got into

  257. rel. I'm telling you now.

  258. You letting me know you thish.

  259. Ain't no flexibility in you. I'm need

  260. I'm needing I'm need you. You you can't

  261. you can't be married 40 and 50 years.

  262. 12 years now. That same thing is 12 now.

  263. 40 back in the day was 12. You can't not

  264. with not without some flexibility. You

  265. can't be friends for any period of time.

  266. That's why people change friendships

  267. like draws because they don't they're

  268. thread. Come on.

  269. They're threads. You don't have anybody

  270. in your life been there for over four

  271. years cuz that's generally where your

  272. thread gets spilled up. You need some

  273. flexibility. You need the ability to get

  274. upset and say, "But you know what? I

  275. decided a long time ago we going to hang

  276. on in there." Oh

  277. [Applause]

  278. god. I was thinking about the rubber

  279. band. I was going to sing this. No.

  280. Okay.

  281. Forgi being postured in forgiveness.

  282. means to give space for the hurt,

  283. even offenses, errors,

  284. weakness,

  285. and sometimes wickedness

  286. before it is needed. Here's here comes

  287. the slap on this one, Remy

  288. Cindy. Out of my faith and submission to

  289. God,

  290. let me say it again. Being postured in

  291. forgiveness is different from just you

  292. know just I'm willing to no that means

  293. you think you get the right to decide

  294. whether or not in this case

  295. but real forgiveness is what Jesus is

  296. talking about is posture to give space

  297. for these things before it is needed out

  298. of our faith or submission to God to be

  299. postured in the flexibility. This

  300. another I'm just working through it.

  301. Y'all know you going to be able to go

  302. back and watch it now. So, just pay

  303. attention. To be postured in the

  304. flexibility of love that offers space

  305. for the inevitable clashes and

  306. pain where you refuse to let

  307. everything be a make it or break it to

  308. the relationship.

  309. Go to Romans

  310. 5. Go to Romans 5.

  311. Yeah. Romans

    Romans 5:20

  312. 5 verse 20. And this is not foreign. If

  313. if you have a heart to hear what God is

  314. saying, there's a dance in this.

  315. Although it's a painful one. It's kind

  316. of like I when I dressed up to go to

  317. that gayla, I was dressed up. I look

  318. good, but it was painful to me. The

  319. shoes left me limping for the next day.

  320. Yeah. So there's there's a there's a joy

  321. in this

  322. that bites on the end.

  323. Romans 5. Because this is the way. Like

  324. it or not, folks. This is the way. You

  325. shout over it when it's between you and

  326. God. But we want to cuss over it when

  327. it's between us and folk.

  328. God with his holy self

  329. is yet flexible with us.

  330. And that is why he is

  331. unwilling. Now he will go thread like in

  332. a heartbeat when he sees that you

  333. disrespect his flexibility by refusing

  334. to have any.

  335. Let's read Bible. Let's just read Bible.

  336. Romans 5:20.

    Romans 5:20

  337. Moreover, the law entered. Yeah. That

  338. the offense might abound. So in other

  339. words, God let there be rules. Remember

  340. we talked about the law sets up to show

  341. the holiness of God and his general

  342. desire. But it also reveals our own

  343. weakness. So the law came in so that

  344. everybody could see how much foolishness

  345. they were doing. Come on. But where sin

  346. Amen. Because they may shout you down. I

  347. don't want you to get hit in the back of

  348. the head. Miss Phillips over there. And

  349. she might have her camera. She might

  350. accident jump up and hit you because

  351. this is a powerful verse. Read this line

  352. that you get ready to read. But where

  353. sin abounded, I feel a dance. Grace did

  354. much more abound.

  355. We don't even have to interpret that.

  356. All we did was read it. Where sin

  357. abounded.

  358. Grace. Hallelujah.

  359. Grace.

  360. Lord.

  361. This don't fit. It don't fit. But

  362. because grace has

  363. [Music]

  364. [Applause]

  365. So where sin abound, grace did much

  366. more. Huh? Not trick. Come on. Where

  367. grace abounded, sin, where sin abounded,

  368. grace did much more. What? It spread.

  369. [Music]

  370. He said, "But now I need you to have a

  371. right understanding about how I want us

  372. to flow with this." Read 61.

  373. Yeah, that's it. Pastor Trev said, "Talk

  374. Bible." Romans 6:1. What shall we say

    Romans 6:1

  375. then? Uh-huh. Shall we continue in sin

  376. that grace may abound? He said, "So then

  377. what should we be saying about this?

  378. Should we continue in sin just because

  379. there's some flexibility?" No.

  380. Uh-uh. Wait a minute. Everybody didn't

  381. say that. No. Practice it. No. He said

  382. just because I'm flexible doesn't mean

  383. you ought to play me.

  384. [Applause]

  385. But your dance ought to be that much

  386. more enhanced because you do know that I

  387. is flexible that I am willing that I am

  388. working with you that I have chosen

  389. before the need to give you space. I

  390. know your frame that you are dust. Oh,

  391. I'm preaching.

  392. [Applause]

  393. So with that in mind, folks, we have a

  394. very serious call of God

  395. on how we're going to function.

  396. Luke 17 begins. You go back. It begins

  397. with this

  398. understanding that junk is going to

  399. happen to us all. Yes. Yes. Whether it's

  400. being raped, whether it's being lied and

  401. vilified, lied upon, whether it is

  402. whether it is people stealing and taking

  403. from you, whether it is being overlooked

  404. or there's I mean there's a million ways

  405. in which offenses can come. But hear me

  406. when I tell you they're going to come.

  407. Don't be shocked. Amen. They're going to

  408. come. That baby that you love more than

  409. life itself, you prayed for 108 years to

  410. get it. You were older than Sarah times

  411. two when it came. But when I tell you

  412. that is the happiest thing in your life.

  413. Keep living

  414. [Applause]

  415. and they're going to bring you to with

  416. an inch. That's not even an inch. That's

  417. a quarter of an inch.

  418. because offenses are going to come

  419. through people you love and through

  420. people you don't know.

  421. [Applause]

  422. But now Jesus is very clear. We're just

  423. going to go verse by verse. Is that all

  424. right? But Jesus is very clear in verse

  425. one. Don't you be the person though.

  426. See, I'm going to show you that what he

  427. is doing is a

  428. major mental paradigm shift for them.

  429. He He's trying to correct some stuff.

  430. He's going to talk to them about giving

  431. space before he's going to talk to them

  432. about being flexible. But he said, cuz

  433. you know some people like this. Oh,

  434. okay. Well, so you supposed to get See,

  435. some folk will go home and then when you

  436. say, "Wait a minute, babe. You're not

  437. going to holler." Wait a

  438. minute. Where the space at and you

  439. supposed to be giving me space now? What

  440. you Oh, Lord. Did you the country and

  441. the just what you ain't fitting to do

  442. come on is try to take truth and twist

  443. it and throw it back on me. We not f to

  444. do that. Come on. Now for those of you

  445. who are not from the country that means

  446. this is what we are not going to do.

  447. And what Jesus does is says, "No, no,

  448. no. Offenses are going to come, but your

  449. focus needs to be that you're not the

  450. one they come through."

  451. Okay, it's I'll come back to it. I

  452. understand. Keep going. He said,

  453. "Because it would be better for us take

  454. a millstone and you know that a concrete

  455. block that's just going to make it

  456. simple and throw you out into the sea

  457. that drags you to the bottom, you drown.

  458. He said, "That's how seriously I want

  459. you to take it before you get arrogant

  460. and think since they ought to forgive

  461. that you can offend them and try to hurt

  462. people.

  463. Let's let's just come on. Let's just

  464. work through that." He said, "I want you

  465. to understand I'm going to talk about

  466. the flexibility of of of love and

  467. relationship." He said, "But I don't

  468. want you to bring that up when it's you

  469. cutting a fool."

  470. Oh, y'all come on. You're making me work

  471. too hard. And this the easiest part of

  472. the lesson.

  473. Our focus must

  474. be not they got to forgive me, but you

  475. got to forgive. See, first of all, who

  476. would even what kind of

  477. person? But you got to forgive. Got that

  478. great big Bible big as a what you tell

  479. me as big as a cereal box.

  480. It's crazy. Watch this. Jesus says in

  481. verse

  482. two. This is how seriously I

  483. take hurting people,

  484. dogging people, being

  485. unkind, being mean. Yeah,

  486. this is he said this is the picture I

  487. want in your head that if you're going

  488. to be mean and hateful and unkind and

  489. lie and take and and whatever all what

  490. are what are some other things people

  491. do? Violate who? Gossipurse.

  492. Curse it folk and curse folk.

  493. act like they can't ever change or they

  494. this or they that. He said, "This is the

  495. picture I want in your mind." See, he's

  496. really When I tell you he bringing them

  497. in, us in them in

  498. He said, "It would be better for

  499. somebody to put concrete shoes on you

  500. and throw you in the water.

  501. Let's continue reading."

  502. So he says verse three, "Take heed to

  503. yourself."

  504. And that's what this thing like today

  505. hit me. I said, you know, there have

  506. been some things personally and I kind

  507. of, you know, I was kind of feeling that

  508. clap, that clap back kind of thing. And

  509. and and it's hitting this verse too. He

  510. said, look at this picture I'm giving

  511. you,

  512. Rosie. And so when we're singing set a

  513. fire, I'm saying God, I want more of

  514. you. I I I I said, God, and and and I

  515. want you to be the refiner's fire. And

  516. when the man of God said, "Run to that

  517. fire."

  518. He said, "Take heed to yourself."

  519. He says, "I know you're apostles. I got

  520. all of that. Take heed to yourself." I

  521. know you got a Bible big as a cereal

  522. box, but take heed to yourself. You got

  523. a cross on big enough Jesus could have

  524. died, but take heed to yourself.

  525. No. Come on, y'all. Because at the end

  526. of remember what the Bible says and

  527. don't ever forget this. The Bible says

  528. that there is nothing that will give us

  529. boldness in the day of judgment but that

  530. we have walked in perfect love.

  531. He said there's some folk cast out

  532. demons ain't he said I don't know you.

  533. He said take heed to yourself. And then

  534. he goes on and when I tell you he comes

  535. for us, he says, "If your

  536. brother trespasses against

  537. you, go let him know." See, I think a

  538. lot of us get into issue because we want

  539. to be more spiritual than Jesus.

  540. No, we do. We do. Who wants to know what

  541. I mean by that? I'm going to tell you

  542. how. We said, "Well, I ain't going to

  543. say nothing." Okay. But what he said,

  544. rebuke him. So who's right? You or him?

  545. Now you going to go through persecution,

  546. don't you, Lady Tra? Pastor Tracy. Cuz

  547. now Pastor Tracy read this verse many

  548. moons ago and she would come to me if

  549. the Bible say if you have something

  550. against somebody or if somebody did

  551. something, you need to say something to

  552. them. I need to speak with you after

  553. Bible

  554. study and we will forever be laughing.

  555. Me and Za Boy Trace had me hemmed up

  556. under that

  557. staircase. Now, now who is the joke on

  558. now since Jesus said?

  559. No, let's just put it out there. See,

  560. see how see how the laughter dropped off

  561. because see it seems funny. I don't want

  562. you know what I ain't saying nothing.

  563. That's what I see. That's why I ain't

  564. even said. Okay. So, who is more

  565. spiritual? Who is right? Jesus said, "I

  566. wish I had some saved people." Jesus

  567. said, "If your brother," And don't It

  568. was a girl. Shut up. You know what I'm

  569. The Bible talking about y'all be trying

  570. to play them games. If somebody,

  571. rebuke them. And that doesn't mean try

  572. to embarrass them. It says, "Make it

  573. clear this was not okay."

  574. What' I say? Make it clear. clear this.

  575. You don't have to be ugly and say, "Oh,

  576. no, no, no, no. We're not going to do

  577. that. That's not okay. You can't.

  578. I'm no. Okay, you can stop right there.

  579. We're good. I'm gone." No, no, no, no.

  580. Cuz um you're not going to stand here

  581. and cuss me out.

  582. No, let me go and get my keys, go drive

  583. down the street, get me a Dr. Pepper

  584. Zero, and pray in the Holy Ghost.

  585. not going to do that.

  586. Let's read the Bible. Come on.

  587. Says, "If your brother trespass against

  588. thee, rebuke him. And if he said, you

  589. know what, I'm sorry." Then the Bible

  590. says, "Forgive him."

  591. And then, but wait a minute. Then it got

  592. even worse. Verse four. Y'all upsetting

  593. that baby? And if he trusts, they said,

  594. "Now, you knew I was going to need some

  595. crackers." Why you ain't bring I'm just

  596. playing. I'm just messing with you. My

  597. boys used to do the same thing. Watch

  598. this. And if he what? And if he

  599. trespassed against thee seven times, cuz

  600. see, wait a minute. See? Okay. Wait.

  601. Wait.

  602. Yes, pastor. No. I done told I told you.

  603. Don't holl at me.

  604. Now we an hour later.

  605. And the decibb have gone back up. Come

  606. on

  607. [Music]

  608. now. What are we doing here? Because you

  609. doing the same best.

  610. But Jesus said, I don't think we can I

  611. don't think we that see I can tell that

  612. we don't understand the purpose of our

  613. faith. Y'all help me. that Jesus said,

  614. even if they do it seven times in a day,

  615. right? They got it.

  616. Forgive them. Forgive them.

  617. And then in Matthew 18, I'm not going to

  618. even have you turn because I know half

  619. of y'all probably would get up and walk

  620. out. In Matthew 18, Peter, you know,

  621. Peter heard all of this. He remembers

  622. this. And then he called himself going

  623. to try to just, you know, check this. So

  624. now Jesus, how many times you say we

  625. supposed to forgive? Up to seven times.

  626. And Jesus Jesus don't play. Jesus said,

  627. "Pe who you what is this? What are we

  628. doing?" He said, "Okay, then even if

  629. they do it seven times 70, that's why I

  630. know there's a difference between being

  631. willing to forgive and postured in

  632. forgiveness.

  633. I ain't even got time to review 490

  634. offenses. I have to already have

  635. flexibility built in.

  636. I know. I know. The relationship must

  637. have intentional gracebased space for

  638. imperfections and painful interactions.

  639. So he says you have to forgive. Now

  640. watch this verse five. This is where

  641. many of us are.

  642. We love this verse. Read it before we're

  643. done. And the apostle said unto the

  644. Lord, the deep people said what?

  645. Increase your faith. How many feel that

  646. way right there? The Lord increase our

  647. favor. I got to forgive them over and

  648. over again. You going to have to do

  649. something for me, Jesus. And we come in

  650. church like that, don't we? We'll get in

  651. praise. You I'm You better sing Demar,

  652. you your wife, your whole family, bring

  653. your children cuz somebody better do

  654. something cuz I'm telling you if I got

  655. to go back

  656. home because we have developed a love

  657. for anger. Our country is addicted to

  658. the showcasing of arrogance and anger.

  659. It fuels many of our political leaders.

  660. And the apostles, Lord, you're going to

  661. have to do something. And this is the

  662. thing. This is the thing. The apostles

  663. thought they needed more to be able to

  664. do it.

  665. We need more faith. And Jesus said, "You

  666. don't need nothing else.

  667. You can't be punkish and follow him."

  668. Cuz he is Jesus. This is what I always

  669. say in these streets. Jesus not playing

  670. in these streets, honey. Listen to what

  671. he says. They said, "Lord, increase our

  672. faith." They trying to be spiritual and

  673. trying to make it out on a very subtle

  674. way that if it's going to get done, you

  675. the invisible God got to do something.

  676. So that way if he don't do it, then I'm

  677. trying.

  678. Then I have an excuse if I act like I

  679. need to learn how to do

  680. it.

  681. Help us. Jesus said in verse six, "And

  682. the Lord said, uhhuh, if ye have faith

  683. as a grain of a mustard seed, ye might

  684. say unto this sycamine tree, come on. Be

  685. thou plucked into by be thou plucked up

  686. by the root." Yeah. And be thou planted

  687. into the sea, and it shall obey thee.

  688. Now watch, watch, y'all. Wait. He says,

  689. "If you have faith,

  690. even a just a touch of it." See, that

  691. says to me that our understanding of

  692. faith has been very, very narrow and

  693. maybe one-dimensional.

  694. Because to us, we think faith is the

  695. ability to get God to move. But at its

  696. core, faith is the belief that I have in

  697. Jesus as Lord and the control that his

  698. belief has on my decision making. So the

  699. greatest expression of faith is not that

  700. I can move God, but my faith moves me.

  701. Have a good day. May the Lord watch

  702. between me and thee. See, that's the

  703. faith we don't want to preach about

  704. because that faith ain't about getting a

  705. car. That faith ain't about getting a

  706. new house. It doesn't have anything to

  707. do with my gold or anything. It is about

  708. if I say I have faith, then my faith

  709. ought to be able to move me to obey God.

  710. And I ain't got to have a lot if it's

  711. real faith.

  712. And then he goes on in verse 7 through

  713. 10

  714. to give us another slap on it.

  715. He said, "Cuz which one of y'all got

  716. servants to plow, feeding cattle,

  717. whatever, and then you say to him

  718. eventually when he come in, go sit down

  719. to eat." He said, "No, you ain't f to do

  720. that." Y'all okay with the O'Neal

  721. paraphrase? I'm in verse eight. He said,

  722. "You're not f to do that. What you going

  723. to say to him is get my food together so

  724. I can eat and then, you know, take care

  725. of me. Then after I'm good, then you go

  726. ahead and enjoy. Then he says in verse

  727. n, he said, "You think he going to thank

  728. that servant because he did the things

  729. that were commanded?"

  730. Watch this. He said, "No, I don't think

  731. so." Verse 10. So likewise, when you

  732. have done all the things which were

  733. commanded, your posture is we're

  734. unprofitable cuz all we've done is our

  735. duty.

  736. See, faith has lost its core for us.

  737. Because if Jesus is Lord, then whatever

  738. I'm told to do is my duty.

  739. I don't need anything else to fulfill my

  740. duty. Come on. And I have been charged

  741. by my savior

  742. to forgive.

  743. I don't get a choice.

  744. See, they were trying to act like they

  745. needed something

  746. else. The reality is we have everything

  747. we need to forgive. Now, I know that's

  748. why I told him to take the clock off cuz

  749. I do want to explain. There are a few

  750. things that can help you with the

  751. process of it.

  752. But if your mind is not if if you have

  753. real faith that means he is Lord. It

  754. don't just mean I believe in a God.

  755. It means I have made Jesus my God. So

  756. then what he says I do it doesn't matter

  757. how I feel or think about it. Amen.

  758. See I couldn't be a coach on a team

  759. where they standing there fussing with

  760. me. Yeah. Amen. I'm the coach. What What

  761. are we doing here now? What?

  762. I said I said run the oneonone. That

  763. looked like a uh Well, but we felt like

  764. uh all I hear won

  765. bench. That's what I hear. Because if

  766. you had something to say, you discussed

  767. that with me. But once I make a

  768. statement of what we're doing, that's

  769. what we're doing. Right. Right. Right.

  770. Generals don't say, "Man, what you think

  771. I was going to? If you ain't got nothing

  772. else to do, could you?" Generals don't

  773. talk like that.

  774. Who is Jesus to you? Right? He said,

  775. "Cuz if you have

  776. faith, not just the way it can move

  777. stuff in the earth, but if you have

  778. faith, it moves you first."

  779. So when they have done when you somebody

  780. died in the family and then the two or

  781. three of them came behind your back,

  782. stole everything, they left you with the

  783. program.

  784. Don't act like this stuff don't happen.

  785. Y'all be writing me and stuff. Don't

  786. even do

  787. it. And you like, you know what? I ain't

  788. got nothing to say to

  789. them. Well, he got something to say to

  790. you.

  791. So now you knew y'all wrong for stealing

  792. like that, but I love you.

  793. Amen. Well, let us continue.

  794. They said, "Lord, we need more faith."

  795. He said, "You do not. You need to

  796. understand the relationship that we have

  797. and that there are some things I do not

  798. play about at all and forgiveness is one

  799. of them." Amen. See, if you think you

  800. need something else, let me tell you

  801. what you already have. You have God's

  802. expectation. Number one, you already

  803. have his expectation that you would do

  804. it. His command.

  805. Okay. Number two, you have your

  806. experience of having been forgiven.

  807. See, this is the reason he ain't he he

  808. ain't playing in these streets.

  809. He said because what's Colossians 3 say?

  810. Look down in Colossians. Forbearing one

  811. another. 3:13. It do what? forbearing

  812. one another and forgiving one another.

  813. Yeah. Cutting each other some general

  814. slack and putting space there before it.

  815. He said that's your posture. Come on. If

  816. any man have quarreled against any, you

  817. got to do what about this thing? Even as

  818. Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Amen.

  819. See, when Peter ran up on Jesus with

  820. that game in Matthew 18 and talking

  821. about how, you know, how many times? And

  822. Jesus went on to say, uh, not seven up

  823. to seven times, 70* 70. Peter was like,

  824. this is crazy right here. This crazy.

  825. And Jesus said, you know, let me tell

  826. you a story. And he goes up and he

  827. brings up the story about the man that

  828. owes somebody $50. Y'all, let me bring

  829. it up today. Somebody borrow 50, man. We

  830. get not even $50. We getting ready to

  831. eat. Me and Trace go. We're somewhere at

  832. the lounge. And Trace said, "Dog, going

  833. to I left my wallet." No, I said dog.

  834. Cuz I generally be the one to forget it.

  835. I left my money. Trace, you got me. Cuz

  836. I was just ask you got I'm hungry. $20

  837. you got for

  838. 20. And then Trace, no. Let me go. I

  839. supposed to go big, ain't I? I supposed

  840. to go big first. Trace says, "I'm ready

  841. to retire, Bishop. I'm ready to retire."

  842. And uh me and Rev need something and

  843. something something. Is there any way?

  844. Trace, don't ask me this. I don't have

  845. it. Is there any way? Cuz I was putting

  846. it seemed like I was getting almost into

  847. a flow. I don't want to be in that real

  848. flow. It's an

  849. example. Right. But she said, "Pastor,

  850. we getting ready to try trying to get if

  851. I just had another $100,000 that thing

  852. would just set me straight. I could just

  853. I could exhale. You understand?" And I

  854. said, "Trace, I got you. I got you." And

  855. I It's a what? Example, right? And so so

  856. she says that and then then her, Darlene

  857. and Shindy go out and they go to one of

  858. these prayer things. They go out, they

  859. be laid out on the floor for a couple

  860. days. They love that kind of rolling

  861. just for whoa God just going

  862. in. And and and and Shindy goes, I ain't

  863. bring my

  864. wallet. And she asked for $10 from

  865. Trace. Now I said, "Trace, I'm gonna let

  866. you hold on to that $100,000 I got and

  867. you can hold on to it for a little bit."

  868. I said, "I'm gonna need my money." She

  869. come back. She said, "Bishop, I thought

  870. I was going to be able to pay you, but

  871. like so many things begin to happen."

  872. And so I'm just, you know, really, it

  873. would be better if I could just, you

  874. know, how do you feel about that? And I

  875. said, "Okay, Trace, don't worry about

  876. hold on to the 100,000. We good. You

  877. don't owe it to me no more." And so she

  878. are you sure? After she done asked,

  879. right? I think, yeah, really, I mean, I

  880. don't want to be thinking about it

  881. later. So, Trace, we're good. And then

  882. she she sees she she she sees Reverend

  883. Shindy about four weeks

  884. later and Sha get ready to get up to

  885. presside

  886. and she say, "I I have a word. I have a

  887. problem with people, you know, who would

  888. stand up and act so spiritual, but they

  889. don't even

  890. and put a business down the road. M

  891. God said that's what it feels like.

  892. That's what it looks like to him

  893. when we won't forgive no matter what it

  894. is. Because no matter what has been done

  895. to us, it's just the same kind of stuff

  896. that we do. It is choosing

  897. against God and God's way. He said, "Now

  898. I have forgiven every single thing you

  899. ever did. I have forgiven stuff you did.

  900. I've forgiven stuff you were supposed to

  901. do that you didn't. I done had so much

  902. flexibility. He said, I've been

  903. stretched. In fact, he stretched so you

  904. you heard it, didn't you, preacher? You

  905. heard it, didn't you, preacher? He said,

  906. I've been stretched so Yes, sir. Until

  907. that's the way I had to die. One hand on

  908. your life. You know that's how he said I

  909. stretch that much and you mean to tell

  910. me

  911. that you won't forgive that you won't

  912. let it go that you still talking about

  913. it. You are literally keeping something

  914. alive and keeping it fresh in your mind

  915. and the mind of others after I told you

  916. that I have forgotten your sins and and

  917. buried them in the sea of forgetfulness.

  918. So you cannot be like me.

  919. I mean, I'm just we're reading

  920. and there's some there's some strange

  921. stuff that's been done. The tipping in

  922. the bedroom of a kid's room. That ain't

  923. no joke.

  924. But Jesus said,

  925. "Forgive." We have God's expectation,

  926. number one. We have our own experience

  927. of forgiveness. Number

  928. two, there's a quote that I I wanted to

  929. share with you. It was so It says,

  930. "Forgiveness

  931. is

  932. releasing someone from the

  933. offense, unlocking their their door, and

  934. realizing you were the one that was the

  935. prisoner.

  936. That's good.

  937. Understand this y'all. It's more than

  938. releasing just letting yourself go. It's

  939. getting bitterness out of you. It

  940. doesn't mean you excuse what's been

  941. done.

  942. Whoever that them first two claps you

  943. were trying to start it off. It was a

  944. good clap.

  945. It was a good clap because me forgiving

  946. does not mean what you did was okay.

  947. That's right.

  948. That's right. It's not okay. And if you

  949. bring it up, I'm going to tell you

  950. again. It wasn't okay.

  951. And I will reset boundaries if I am at

  952. risk of you trying to do it again.

  953. But what I'm not going to do is give you

  954. the side eye for the rest of my life.

  955. I'm not going to be talking about it. I

  956. am not holding it in my heart. I have to

  957. chalk it up to the sin nature in you

  958. because I share the same nature.

  959. So I have number one, God's expectation.

  960. Number two, my own experience. Number

  961. three, I have the

  962. realization that it's not excusing the

  963. deed.

  964. That's right. And let me make this

  965. statement. I know we're we're late.

  966. There is a difference between weakness

  967. and wickedness.

  968. Come on, talk to me. There is a

  969. difference between weakness and

  970. wickedness.

  971. I remember her she we were in school.

  972. Her name is Tracy Easter. Love Trace.

  973. And funny girl. Good gracious. Played

  974. basketball. Just really funny. And uh

  975. she was going with this guy. I can't

  976. think of his name. Anyway, he was a cute

  977. fella.

  978. And you know, how real can we go today?

  979. When Oh, boy. I don't know if I want to

  980. go that real. It's been a minute since I

  981. really felt that.

  982. That's wrong. He talking about tell it

  983. all. Tell yours.

  984. Don't

  985. just Okay. when you and some of y'all

  986. won't be able to identify with this.

  987. When you maybe have been bigger or

  988. something all your life

  989. and not really considered I mean I think

  990. I'm cute but that's now I look a lot

  991. better now than I did then growing up.

  992. I took the long road,

  993. Doc. And to have somebody put a lot of

  994. attention on

  995. me, even today, I get

  996. nervous. I don't like, "Oh, Ber, it just

  997. makes me so

  998. nervous." Okay, can I put pause? Men,

  999. where you at?

  1000. [Applause]

1001. Guys are born hunters. Right? You follow

1002. it. Guys know how to become what that

1003. lady wants. If he's trying, if he's

1004. trying to win her and he finds out that

1005. she likes, you know, this kind of

1006. attention, that will morph like the

1007. Terminator came up from that silver

1008. listen. But if you want to see him in a

1009. mess, let the hunt change. Uhhuh.

1010. He don't know what to do, right?

  1011. What?

1012. No. No. They don't know what to do. I've

1013. been talking with folk. I told my my

1014. pastor sons coming up. I said, "Let me

1015. tell you something. Y'all are committed

1016. to your spouses. I know that." I said,

1017. "But when I'm trying to tell you to be

1018. careful of certain things, it's because

1019. you don't know how to handle some stuff

1020. because you ain't been through it." How

1021. real do I tell you? You you did you say

1022. tell you didn't say you weren't trying

1023. to get me to put all my that was him so

1024. you don't want me to throw you out.

1025. Okay. Well, you know, so PT grew up

1026. narrow. The chocolate's always pretty,

1027. but I'm saying it may not have been

  1028. where you came from.

1029. So what do you do if you weren't

  1030. considered a

1031. fine find and then somebody walks up to

1032. you look like a darn contestant in

1033. something and say you know what I would

  1034. love to wear you

1035. out you don't know how you don't know

  1036. how to handle

  1037. that y'all ain't see I don't even know

1038. why y'all come here go to another church

1039. another Sunday I'm tired of y'all you

1040. know what I'm Man, Shandelle all now

  1041. you're a good-looking man. What was the

1042. guy? Dwayne Wayne. Everybody thought

1043. that that's who they thought you were.

1044. You always you smart as a whip every

1045. nerd. I'm sure that's what they thought.

1046. Now you buscular and business all that

1047. kind of stuff. I don't know if you were

1048. that way growing up. But what I know is

1049. what happens when you get to a certain

  1050. stature in life

1051. and then somebody that you ain't never

1052. thought would look in your direction.

  1053. That's right. That's right. They become

1054. KFC right in front of you.

1055. Now, either you know what that means or

1056. you don't. I'm not going into it.

1057. Huh? Oh, this is a Tuesday night.

1058. So, here here I am. Back to me.

1059. I was never really considered. I was

  1060. already friendly and sweet. I wasn't

  1061. considered pretty like that.

1062. And when my friend Tracy's friend came

  1063. at

  1064. me, before I knew

  1065. it, and what I

1066. did was weakness. It wasn't wickedness,

  1067. right? I didn't I would never have meant

  1068. to hurt Tracy.

1069. It still hurt her though.

1070. But I didn't mean to. Right. It caught

1071. me. I didn't think nobody thought that

1072. of me. And when they went to blinking

1073. and grinning at me like that

1074. and in your mind you go, you think I'm

1075. cute? Really? Yeah. Right. Right. You

  1076. know, I got a low voice. I got I'm

1077. hairy. And of course, thank God he had

1078. more hair on his face than me. But I was

  1079. like, uh-uh. See, that's why

1080. I'm You know, it take a lot to get up

1081. here and put your stuff

  1082. out. Y'all don't appreciate nothing. Uh

1083. uh y'all. But I mean what I'm trying to

1084. get you to see is wickedness and

1085. weakness are different, but they both

  1086. still hurt.

  1087. So I have to

1088. remember the weakness and wickedness in

  1089. us all. Yes.

1090. And when I recognize that, I posture

  1091. more easily in forgiveness.

1092. So, here is the story. I've told y'all

1093. for 35 years. Here it is again. I'm

1094. going to have to let you go cuz I can't

1095. finish. I told you the story. Actually

  1096. learned it from Max

1097. Lukeo, but I lived it later on. Max Lo

1098. was telling the story about he had this

1099. one member and wherever he would go if

1100. that member was there they would be they

1101. would turn it out. It was always a

1102. scene. Oh, they just were loud and if

1103. you said anything to him they went to

1104. crying and it would people be staring at

  1105. him and you know he's a preacher. He's a

  1106. well-known he's a writer. Everybody's

1107. looking and one day it just got so bad.

1108. The person got so upset they had fallen

1109. all out and done all this other kind of

1110. stuff and threw up on it.

1111. And he said, "But in spite of it all, it

1112. was his favorite member cuz it was his

  1113. nine-month old baby." Okay. Uh-uh.

  1114. Uh-uh. That R, that R, that R is point

1115. number four. M that awe is

  1116. understanding.

1117. Now, I had the same thing. Here's my

1118. here was my part of it. When I was in

1119. college, right over there in between

  1120. Green and White

1121. Hall, somebody spit in my face.

  1122. I'm I was a preacher already

1123. and I listen sh listen. And I started

1124. crying. I was so mad cuz y'all know I

  1125. had that murderous

1126. tendency and see that wasn't even a joke

1127. and they laughed. I don't know what

1128. y'all are some funny folk. So in my

1129. mind and I'm and I'm sad about it

1130. because that's so not the nature of

1131. Jesus. And yet here I am with great big

1132. Bibles and all that kind of stuff. And I

1133. was so angry I wanted to snap their

  1134. neck.

1135. And I stood there and I cried because I

  1136. knew I couldn't do anything.

  1137. And I literally lit it's on one I didn't

  1138. have a stroke. I turned completely I

1139. was the second time I was spit on in my

  1140. face.

  1141. I didn't get mad at all.

1142. Now it was some years in between.

  1143. Not a lot, a couple, but I didn't even

1144. get mad cuz this time, Scotty, I was

1145. visiting the hospital where my

1146. grandfather who had had a stroke was. He

1147. had a TRA and was sick. So, it was him

1148. coughing that hit me. One situation I

1149. was ready to kill. The other one didn't

1150. anger me at all because I understood the

1151. state he was in. And when you and I

1152. remember that people, no matter how

1153. sweet some of us are, we are all made of

1154. dust. We are all hanging on by a grace

1155. thread. We all have a sinful nature in

1156. us. Y'all ain't talking to me. When you

1157. remember, it doesn't have to be that.

  1158. When you remember that,

  1159. you all say a

1160. because you understand they can't do any

1161. better. That's right. Say, well, he

1162. could do better. They disappointed

1163. me. If I brought If I brought somebody

1164. with severe special needs up here, my to

1165. shoot a basketball and it barely got out

1166. of their hand. Where am I?

1167. If I got I told him I said try to throw

1168. it. I'm trying to throw at the wheel and

1169. if I have special needs and I

1170. go and that's as far as it goes. You

  1171. say, "Oh, that's okay, baby. That's

1172. okay. That was a good try. Yeah. Then I

1173. get up, it ain't no problem.

1174. Why do we why do we cut that slack?

1175. Because we understand there limitations

  1176. there.

1177. Now, can I tell you, God, y'all get

1178. wonder? Can I get up here? Let me see.

1179. Hold my hand. I want to get up. Three,

1180. two, believe God for the chairs to hold.

  1181. Okay.

1182. Every last one of us is special needs in

  1183. here.

  1184. You just can't see everybody's.

1185. Some of us like right now I don't see

1186. that well because I have I have contacts

1187. though. Some other people they they have

1188. issues. They got issues just as big as

1189. if as as if I mean they maybe they were

  1190. raped.

1191. And it created a real issue in them and

1192. you can't look at them and tell but if

1193. you put them in certain situations then

1194. all of a sudden it shows up. So my thing

1195. is the way Jesus is explaining this, why

1196. don't we all be aware that outside of

1197. God in my flesh dwells no good thing

1198. that I am just all of us everybody from

1199. the pope to the pimp everybody in

1200. between. All of us need grace. All of us

1201. need forgiveness. All of us need help.

1202. All of us are messed up to a degree. So

1203. what we need to do is try not to hurt

1204. people. And when we get hurt, Jesus

1205. said, "It's your duty to forgive."

  1206. That's the end of

1207. it. And that's the end of it.

  1208. No choice.

  1209. That's it.

1210. You forgive. Period. If them women could

1211. forgive them that people that went in

1212. there and killed all them little Amish

  1213. kids in that school,

1214. that's right. Now, how you going to let

1215. them out forgive? You know why they

1216. forgave? Cuz that Jesus told them to.

1217. We don't have that option. We must

  1218. forgive.

  1219. So today

1220. the guy that molested me under a church

  1221. pew,

1222. I had to forgive him.

1223. Jesus didn't give me any options on

  1224. that.

1225. I said Jesus didn't give me any options

  1226. on that.

1227. But if I understand his command,

1228. his expectations here, I got to. Yeah.

1229. If I remember my experience, yeah, I dog

  1230. on ought to.

1231. But if I understand that we all have

1232. weakness and wickedness, that we are all

  1233. flawed,

1234. how can I do anything but

  1235. forgive?

  1236. So

  1237. today it's time

  1238. let it go.

  1239. Let it

1240. go. You but why? It ain't going to ne

1241. you can't make sense of crazy.

1242. Ain't no sense of going back over it.

1243. But see my thing, it ain't about you.

  1244. Forgive. It was

1245. wrong. I ain't going to let it happen

1246. again. But I'm not going to hold you in

1247. a posture like you can't change. Cuz if

1248. God could save me, he can save anybody.

  1249. [Applause]

1250. So now let me ask this. I know cuz we

1251. you know we usually out of church

1252. now but we had planned to have

  1253. communion. I told pastor I said I ain't

1254. sure if we'll be ready.

  1255. Remember I said I I don't know doc this

1256. may be but I also understand forgiveness

1257. ain't something I get time to work

1258. through. I can work through the feelings

1259. after I've done it. Yeah, that's right.

  1260. Yeah.

1261. A divorce. Now, we're not trying to get

1262. you a divorce, but a divor once you sign

1263. that paper, that's done. But that don't

1264. mean the feelings are done. So, now you

1265. got to work through the feelings. But

1266. now, I need to go ahead and be done if I

1267. need to be done. You understand what I'm

1268. saying? So, if I sign the paper for the

1269. house, it's bought. I still got to deal.

1270. Oh, Lord, I got to start making them

1271. payments. But that's done. We forgive.

1272. I'm not holding this. I'm not repeating

1273. this. I'm not going to sit up every day

1274. and go back over. I'm not doing that

1275. anymore. So the next time this thought

1276. comes, I am putting my mouth. God, thank

1277. you how you forgave me for those times I

1278. used to do so. Thank you. Oh my God,

1279. Lord, your blood is amazing. Thank you

1280. for how you kept me. And the devil said,

1281. but they didn't have to do. And then

1282. they they lied. And you know what, Lord?

1283. I thank you. You know what? You have

1284. forgiven so many of my lie. Oh my God.

1285. Thank you that you've washed me now that

1286. I don't lie. Now that I can speak truth

  1287. in Uhhuh.

  1288. it's time to forgive

1289. cuz we can't. We faith to forgive, power

1290. to forgive, whatever you want to call

  1291. it.

  1292. But it's our

1293. duty my and it's our worship.

  1294. God, it's our worship.

1295. You got a lot of people that have done

1296. you wrong. Let them go. Yeah. Just let

1297. them go. Just say, "You know what? Cuz

1298. watch this. I still made it."

1299. They say, "But they walked out and left

1300. me. Must not have had to have them cuz

  1301. you still here.

1302. The only time you really need to go to

1303. pieces if the Lord ain't there." My God.

  1304. You think they ready? I don't know. I

1305. can't be sure. I let this be your call.

1306. You don't even make it my call till

1307. December, ain't you? You so trifle. Come

  1308. on,

  1309. Deacons. But I forgive

  1310. you. Thank you,

1311. Lord. Forgiveness has caused more

1312. sickness than probably most things.

  1313. Unforgiveness, rather, unforgiveness has

  1314. caused more sickness and

  1315. illness, mental illness, stress,

1316. arthritis, all kinds of things.

1317. Now you forgive in Jesus name. Y'all

  1318. here you forgive what?

1319. You let it go out of worship to Jesus.

1320. Now you may need to go to a counselor to

  1321. work through the emotions

1322. to help you see that forgiving it didn't

  1323. excuse it.

1324. It's not straight. You got to keep going

1325. a little bit. Stop. Okay.

  1326. Father, we consecrate these

1327. elements because Lord, whenever there

1328. was a time for a covenant to be cut,

1329. there was blood and then you showed us

1330. in the New Testament where they ate and

  1331. drank.

1332. Father, we're cutting covenant with you

1333. today to remember your expectation, to

1334. remember our experience of forgiveness,

1335. to remember that we have a shared sinful

1336. nature, but also God, that we're not

1337. excusing it away, but we're refusing to

1338. chain oursel to it. We are not going to

1339. be rethinking. We're putting our mind

1340. back into fertile things to think

1341. about. and we let them go, Lord, the

1342. same way you let us go. Thank you that

1343. you still let us breathe with as many

1344. times as we failed you. You still let us

1345. enjoy sunshine with as many times as we

1346. have done sinful things. May we stop

1347. trying to wish away the sun for those

1348. we've considered an enemy. Father, give

1349. us a heart like yours to pray for their

  1350. sunshine as well.

1351. Father, we thank you that as these

1352. deacons come and serve this precious

1353. bread and juice, Father, let it be a

1354. symbol of your body and your blood. And

1355. Lord, we don't take lightly the

1356. covenant. We don't take lightly our

1357. covenant to forgive and to release

  1358. people. Father, for every

1359. misunderstanding that we let tear up a

1360. relationship, we ask your forgiveness.

1361. Father, for every time we've looked back

1362. on a deed done years in the past and

1363. then changed our posture towards

1364. somebody, we ask your forgiveness. We

1365. release them. And Father, we're going to

1366. step into a fresh joy in Jesus' name.

1367. Amen. Deacons, please come quickly and

  1368. serve our people.

  1369. Quickly, quickly,

1370. quickly. How many needed to hear this

  1371. word

  1372. [Music]

1373. today? Even though forgiveness will make

1374. your heart more fertile, it'll cause

1375. blessings to abound in your life. All

1376. you got to do is read the Bible.

1377. Forgiveness will make your witness so

1378. much stronger. Forgiveness is going to

1379. open the door to people to be saved that

1380. you thought never would be saved, but

1381. you holding them kept them in a dark

1382. spot. You're going to see all kind of

1383. miraculous things. But let your

1384. forgiveness be your worship and

  1385. obedience to

1386. Christ. Let it be because of that,

1387. because he forgave you. Thank you, Lord.

1388. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord.

1389. Yes. I want him to purify me. How many

1390. know now? Can you see why we had to sing

1391. those songs today? We need the fire of

1392. God to purify us. Thank you, Lord. Thank

  1393. you, Lord.

  1394. [Music]

1395. Give me grace to obey.

  1396. in a

1397. clean heart. I want a clean heart.

  1398. Yes, Lord.

1399. You ought to be praising or saying,

1400. "Help me, Jesus." or something. Thank

  1401. you, Lord.

  1402. Oh, Lord.

  1403. [Music]

  1404. Yes, sir.

  1405. Thank you, Father.

  1406. [Music]

1407. People don't like you, let them have

1408. their opinion and love them from a

1409. distance. It's okay. Don't get let it

1410. get in your heart. I want a clean heart.

  1411. I said, I want a clean heart.

1412. I don't want him to find wicked ways in

  1413. me.

  1414. Let it go. Py.

  1415. Yeah. Purifying.

1416. Somebody need to just say, I release

  1417. them

1418. in the name of Jesus.

1419. I'm not rethinking it. I'm not holding

1420. on. I let it go.

  1421. [Music]

  1422. Yeah. As they're serving, if there's

1423. someone here today and you've never

1424. asked Jesus to be the Lord of your life,

1425. maybe you didn't know you could be

1426. forgiven. Or maybe you've been holding

1427. people and you've been angry for so

1428. long. In fact, you're even shocked

  1429. you're going to church now. You're

1430. shocked because you were so sick of

  1431. everything and

1432. everybody. But you were block the enemy

1433. was using it to block out the love and

  1434. the warmth of

  1435. God. Jesus

  1436. died to forgive

1437. you. So if you're here today and you've

1438. never made him the Lord of your life,

1439. and as you can see, it's not an easy

1440. thing because he requires us walking in

1441. a love that is otherworldly.

1442. But if you know he's calling you today

1443. to himself, if that's you, will you

1444. raise one hand? Pastor, I'm not saved,

1445. but I need to give Jesus my life. I need

1446. to be forgiven. I need to be

  1447. forgiven.

1448. Okay? And church, do understand that we

1449. forgive because he commanded it. But he

1450. also reminded us if you do not forgive

1451. others, it put it like this. With the

1452. same measure you eat meat, it'll be

1453. measured to you. He said, if you do not

1454. forgive others, I will not forgive you.

1455. After I done brought you into this

1456. knowledge and forgiven everything and

1457. given you all this grace and then you

1458. decide you're not going to do that with

  1459. anybody else, he said, I can't I can't

1460. keep what what what are we doing? Help

1461. me to always have a forgiving

  1462. heart.

1463. Amen. All right. Would you

  1464. stand? A clean

  1465. heart that I

  1466. may worship

1467. you. If you take that top

  1468. off, it'll reveal a little wafer. It's a

  1469. symbol. Come on,

1470. deacons. It's a symbol of the body of

1471. the Lord. That wafer and that juice,

  1472. it's just juice, but it's a symbol of

1473. the blood of Jesus. You say, "Why do we

1474. do that?" Because our sins cost

  1475. him his

1476. life. His body was broken. His blood was

1477. shed. And it became the payment for

  1478. sin. So, as you

1479. do, we're going to serve the deacons.

  1480. And y'all have Okay.

  1481. [Music]

1482. This is some heavy spiritual lifting

  1483. this

  1484. morning. Creating

  1485. me. Yeah.

1486. Yeah. Body and blood of our Lord. Body

1487. and blood of our Lord. Thank you,

1488. Lord. The body and blood of our Lord.

  1489. Yes. Purify me.

  1490. Thank you, Jesus.

1491. Somebody getting set free this morning.

1492. Yes, Lord. Cuz it's not going to hold

  1493. you anymore.

1494. You unlock the door to let them out and

1495. realize the lock was on you. He's

  1496. freeing you in Jesus

  1497. [Music]

  1498. name. Lord, thank

  1499. you Lord today.

  1500. No

1501. excuses. No, we need something else to

1502. do it. Out of obedience to

1503. you and in awareness of what we've

  1504. already

  1505. received, our

1506. faith, our submission to you, we release

1507. those that have hurt us, violated us in

1508. any way. We will not hold it. We're not

1509. going to keep it active in our minds.

1510. We are letting it go and choosing to

1511. walk in love and focus on a future with

1512. you in our view. We do so now as we

1513. receive this holy communion. We take and

1514. eat of the body that was broken for us

1515. and we drink of the cup the new

  1516. testament in his blood.

  1517. [Music]

  1518. We're free. Hallelujah.

  1519. Hallelujah.

  1520. We're free.

  1521. Where sin abounded,

1522. grace did much more abound.

1523. So Lord, today thank you for this time,

  1524. this extended

1525. service. But Lord, sometimes our issues

  1526. don't fit neatly into 90minute molds.

1527. But Lord, we thank you that love is our

  1528. posture

1529. and we choose to give space before the

1530. time of need in Jesus play.
