Go and tell somebody we can ready to get
-
in this word tonight.
-
>> Yeah. Then we going to fall out. Just
-
study and fall out again. Amen.
-
>> Get your Bibles. This will be easy for
-
everybody to understand.
-
>> But we're called to praise.
-
>> I said we're called to praise.
-
>> My God.
-
I couldn't even get the Holy Spirit
-
wouldn't even let me start dealing with
-
some of the stuff in his ministry until
-
we did some reintroduction.
-
>> How many been with us in the mornings?
-
>> Amen.
-
>> And uh so you got to understand you are
-
saved through your faith in the finished
-
work of Jesus Christ and that alone.
-
That's why nobody deserves the praise
-
but him.
-
>> I thought I'd hear more on that.
-
>> I said nobody deserves the praise but
-
him.
-
[applause]
-
>> And so when I understand that and I nail
-
that down and I start really letting the
-
implications
-
of being saved sink in,
-
>> that means I'll never be alone.
-
Okay, one hand.
-
>> Okay, you you miss it. Say, let me let
-
me say it again cuz in case it didn't
-
come out clear, you'll never be alone.
-
[cheering]
-
>> You are never without help.
-
>> You are never without hope. I wish I had
-
me a few folk in here. You have God on
-
the inside of you strengthening you to
-
go through anything that comes your way.
-
AND IN ALL THESE THINGS, WE ARE MORE
-
THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH HIM THAT LOVED
-
US.
-
>> When you really let the truth of
-
salvation sink in,
-
>> he made me fit
-
>> to overcome.
-
>> But see, your peace and your praise will
-
tell you where your faith is.
-
>> Oh, I need somebody. Yeah. Yeah. You can
-
tell where you are in your reliance upon
-
God and in your faith walk, you can tell
-
by your peace and your praise.
-
[cheering]
-
>> Oh
-
yeah. Because when there is no peace,
-
it's an indication that there is some
-
area you have not trusted God in. If you
-
don't have peace, you have allowed stuff
-
to take your eyes off. Come here, Peter.
-
You've allowed yourself to start
-
focusing on the storm and not on the
-
savior.
-
>> [screaming]
-
>> Because as long as you know who you are
-
with,
-
>> y'all ain't having church with me.
-
Listen, IF YOU'RE WITH SOMEBODY THAT'S
-
GOT everything you need, you carry
-
yourself differently. If you Oh, Lord
-
have mercy. I don't, you know, I don't
-
have mass. Y'all feel free to give me
-
masses of money. I take bags of it. I'll
-
be glad to.
-
>> No, it's okay. Anyway, but I'm saying I
-
got a couple nickels.
-
So chances are if we go out to eat and
-
you realize you left your wallet, you
-
ain't going to be upset.
-
>> You just going to say, "Bitch, you
-
bitch." You know,
-
>> you know, you'll be like that,
-
You know, you now it's not going to be a
-
problem.
-
>> So then where where is this anxiousness
-
coming from?
-
>> Uh-uh. See, where is this anxiousness
-
coming from when we are with the one who
-
made heaven and earth? [cheering]
-
>> Yeah. Uh-uh. Emmanuel
-
>> with us be God. God manifest in the
-
flesh. So when you really let the
-
implications of salvation really become
-
come real to you and come you become
-
aware of them it changes you. There's a
-
peace that settles in.
-
>> You say I don't know what tomorrow's
-
going to hold
-
>> but I know who hold tomorrow
-
>> and that's the one that's with me and
-
for me that loves me. It's I know it's
-
hard to believe sometime, but loves me
-
so much he he tattooed me on his hand.
-
Read your Bible. Y'all up here tattooing
-
folks name on you and in three years you
-
ain't even going to know them. You ain't
-
going to see them no more.
-
You done put their name and tattooed
-
everything and then they quit you and go
-
with somebody you knew. Come on y'all
-
ain't [cheering] I don't hear nobody.
-
That's why try to tell folk don't start
-
that tattooing too early
-
cuz some of these people you think you
-
can't live without. You won't even
-
remember. Were you in my class or my
-
sister's class? You won't even remember
-
them. You see a McFamp classroom, you be
-
like, I know I've seen you somewhere.
-
>> Come on. In Acts chapter 16,
Acts 16 chapter mention
-
>> but your peace and your praise will tell
-
you where you are in your reliance upon
-
God.
-
And so what we have to do is we have to
-
understand that God has called us to
-
praise.
-
>> In Acts chapter 16, it was read uh we
Acts 16 chapter mention
-
are dealing with Paul and how he has
-
been preaching. He and Silas have been
-
preaching and taking the gospel and
-
they're going through persecution. And
-
let me just share with you, you want to
-
live out loud until it irritates the
-
devil.
-
Oh, you want to be so strong with this
-
thing until it just makes the devil
-
nervous. You ought to have him You ought
-
to have him mad when you wake up.
-
>> When you step in your job, you just let
-
it be known.
-
>> Now, devil, I know you're listening.
-
>> And I want you to know I'm taking
-
authority over this workplace
-
environment.
-
>> You don't run this. Somebody righteous
-
is here. Oh, God. [cheering]
-
Paul has been preaching and so they're
-
very upset. You know the story that
-
takes them and the Bible says in verse
-
23 of Acts 16 when they had laid many
-
stripes on them. Well, let me do 22. And
-
the multitude rose up together against
-
them and the magistrates ran off their
-
clothes and commanded told beat them.
-
That's okay. That's okay. Yeah, you you
-
can beat this body but you won't be able
-
to touch the next one.
-
>> Oh Lord have mercy.
-
Okay. Okay. When they had laid many
-
stripes on them, they cast them into
-
prison, charging the jailer to keep them
-
safely, who having received such a
-
charge, thrust them into the inner
-
prison and made their feet fast, cuz
-
they told him, "You better take you
-
better keep them." He says, "No problem.
-
I got it." Verse 25, "But at midnight,
-
>> Paul and Silas prayed and
-
>> sang praises unto God." Watch this. This
-
won't no silent thing.
-
>> This wasn't in their head. nudges. And
-
you know, I told you I don't like
-
touching people too much in church. You
-
know, people every three sentences is
-
touch your neighbor. That ain't going to
-
never be my testimony cuz after a while,
-
I don't want nobody touching me. Now,
-
stop. Okay. But just elbow somebody and
-
tell them somebody ought to hear your
-
praise.
-
>> Now, that's important because it's very
-
easy for us. And can we just can we just
-
talk real plain? Particularly in a
-
ministry that is more teachingbased, you
-
have to be that much more careful and
-
proactive that you don't stay in your
-
head all the time.
-
>> I'mma wait till we get all the claps in.
-
That's right. Because it's very easy for
-
us because admittedly we tend to be of
-
teaching ministry.
-
>> Okay. But you and I have to be willing
-
to open our mouths and make declarations
-
about the greatness of our God. And you
-
got to be able to do it and be bold and
-
do it. And plus, it's going to help you.
-
YOU NEED TO start getting bold about who
-
God is to you anyway.
-
>> I got three hands, five hands. No, he's
-
my keeper.
-
>> He's my friend.
-
>> He's the one that's holding me up.
-
>> He's keeping my mind. Now, y'all don't
-
REMEMBER THIS STUFF, BUT HE'S A HEART
-
fixer
-
>> and he's a mind regulator.
-
>> Oh, Y'ALL Y'ALL ARE HERE. HE'S A DOCTOR
-
IN THE SICK room [cheering]
-
>> and a lawyer in the courtroom. HE'S A
-
HE'S A HE'S A THERAPIST WHEN MY MIND IS
-
FLIPPING OUT. [cheering]
-
>> And you GOT TO BECOME VERBAL ABOUT THAT
-
BECAUSE FAITH comes by.
-
>> So God's been dealing with me. Y'all
-
ain't started that clock. Y'all are
-
brave.
-
God has been dealing with me about us
-
being called to praise.
-
>> Called to praise.
-
>> You have to understand that there are,
-
as I said, certain things that you and I
-
cannot get
-
>> just from
-
sitting back in our comfort zone. You
-
can be attentive mentally,
-
but there is a degree of intimacy you
-
want to have with God.
-
Oh,
-
>> or you won't bear fruit.
-
>> You can, okay, y'all don't remember this
-
from when you were little kids. You see
-
somebody, they were cute and they looked
-
at you twice
-
>> and blinked one time. Next thing you
-
know, you were writing y'all's names
-
down
-
>> and y'all don't remember the little the
-
little box, do you?
-
>> Where you write rich, poor, millionaire,
-
the three cities you want to live at.
-
Y'all ain't having a church with how
-
many kids and then you go around and
-
count the time we wasted. Lord Jesus,
-
>> but as long as you have all of those
-
emotions and thoughts in your head, how
-
many know you ain't going to get
-
pregnant from thinking about it?
-
>> Y'all not here.
-
>> In order for that to occur,
-
>> there has to be some action. There has.
-
Huh?
-
>> Ain't no more immaculate conceptions
-
taking place.
-
>> Oh, you didn't catch that. You You
-
missed that.
-
>> Did you catch it? There are no more
-
immaculate conceptions.
-
>> So, if you going to get pregnant with
-
something from God, that means you going
-
to have to have some interaction with
-
God. [cheering]
-
>> That means you're not going to be able
-
to sit in your chair and keep it cool
-
like this. And cuz see, praise is
-
designed for there. There's a stripping
-
that takes place
-
>> because now it's no longer about you and
-
what you got on.
-
>> NOW IT'S NO LONGER ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL
-
and what you look and whether people are
-
STARING AT YOU. IT SHOULD NOT MATTER.
-
YOU CAN'T. LET ME TELL YOU, YOU CAN'T
-
GET SO IMPORTANT.
-
>> Oh Lord, I I want every dollar the Lord
-
wants me to have, but not one more
-
>> than I have grace to have. Y'all not
-
talking to me? Cuz I don't need a two. I
-
don't need an extra dollar. And then I
-
start thinking I'm too important to hit
-
the floor and give God the glory. Let I
-
done told y'all I don't mean to be
-
commenting ON THIS THING, BUT I DON'T
-
WANT A PAIR OF SHOES THAT COST SO MUCH I
-
CAN'T dance in them.
-
>> And I know I'M NOT JUST TALKING TO
-
WOMEN. NOW YOU GOT TO TALK TO MEN about
-
that because I found out MEN DON'T LIKE
-
TO BEND up their shoes.
-
>> How crazy is that?
-
>> You The Lord done blessed YOU WITH SOME
-
$200 SHOES
-
>> and you don't want to bend them up and
-
get wrinkles in them. Let me tell YOU
-
SOMETHING. THERE WAS A TIME WHERE $200
-
WOULD NEAR ABOUT PAY ALL YOUR BILLS. AND
-
YOU GOT ENOUGH MONEY NOW THAT YOU CAN
-
PUT $200 ON YOUR FEET. YOU BETTER BEND
-
THEM UP AND WRINKLE THEM UP AND SCUFF
-
THEM UP IN THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD.
-
[applause]
-
[cheering]
-
>> You better check yourself.
-
>> It's not that serious, honey. Shoes are
-
not that ser [laughter]
-
We are called to praise. Praise is this
-
outward expression
-
>> that I know God
-
is greater than I am.
-
>> I I've given so many
-
definitions. Praise is the celebration
-
of certainty. when I know God is who he
-
said he is and I know God is gonna do
-
what he said he was gonna do and I know
-
God gonna open the door like he said he
-
would SO I CAN PRAISE HIM IN ADVANCE I'm
-
certain he's going to do it
-
>> but it is this outward thing it is can
-
you imagine not talking to somebody and
-
you have the ability to speak
-
>> that you love
-
>> that you would never reach out to hug or
-
or even pound or or what somebody that
-
you care about. We cannot allow
-
ourselves
-
to come into the house of God and then
-
become stoic
-
>> and overly reserved.
-
>> Now I understand the Bible when you come
-
to the house keep your foot people being
-
there acting white. I understand all
-
that
-
>> but this is not a church without order.
-
>> [applause]
-
>> Folks, we need to open ourselves up and
-
say, "You know what, God? I don't want
-
my relationship with you to be dry.
-
>> I want to be that person that responds
-
to your presence by offering you glory
-
both with my mouth, with my hands, with
-
my lifestyle choices. I want to praise
-
you in everything I say and everything I
-
do.
-
>> I got any people really want to praise
-
God? See, I don't have a problem coming
-
up standing with any hands lifted. I I'm
-
going to put myself Do I always feel
-
like it? Of course not.
-
>> But he his worth has not changed.
-
>> Just because you had a yucky day doesn't
-
mean God's worth has changed. HE IS
-
STILL WORTHY. Oh Lord have mercy. He's
-
worthy of our praise. And I'm going tell
-
you, even though we ought to bring it to
-
him, it still does more for us
-
>> than it does for him. I want to share a
-
few things with you about praise. And
-
I'm going to let you go home. First of
-
all, praise
-
is our acknowledgment of the greatness
-
of God.
-
It's our acknowledgement. See, and I
-
think that's important for us to to nail
-
down because if you think praise is
-
feminine, then guys, you'll be sitting
-
there, man, I ain't f to do all that.
-
>> Praise is not feminine
-
>> and it's not masculine either.
-
>> It's human.
-
>> When you Okay. Okay. Okay. Somebody you
-
esteem great. Now it's getting harder
-
and harder to think of somebody.
-
You used to be able to use public
-
official. You can't. You can't. Yeah.
-
Yeah. And almost now you almost better
-
go to sports and spit it. [laughter]
-
But if somebody has done something great
-
in our society and they come in, we
-
stand.
-
>> It doesn't matter how you feel about it.
-
That's your way of offering respect and
-
recognizing that somebody that has
-
distinguished themselves has entered
-
into the room.
-
>> Then how is it possible
-
>> that we could come in God's house?
-
>> I need somebody here.
-
>> Come in God's house
-
>> and then want to BE RESERVED. OH, NO,
-
NO, NO, NO. I'm coming in on the
-
strength you gave me.
-
>> I'm coming in BREATHING THE AIR YOU PUT
-
IN my lungs. I'M COMING IN IN MY RIGHT
-
MIND, WHICH I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE LOST
-
IF YOU HAD NOT WALKED WITH ME.
-
[cheering]
-
IN FACT, I LOST HALF OF IT AND YOU HAD
-
TO GIVE IT BACK TO ME.
-
>> BUMP WHO I'M SITTING BESIDE.
-
>> FORGET WHO ON MY ROW.
-
>> YOU BETTER GIVE ME SOME SPACE.
-
>> HALLELUJAH.
-
>> It's an acknowledgement. Go with me to
-
Psalm 100. Go with me to Psalm 100.
-
Let's just Y'all ready to study a little
-
bit? Just look through the scripture
-
some.
-
>> Everybody say, "Yes."
-
>> Okay. Psalm 100. Look at it. Lord, I I
-
need my Lord. And we keeping uh Re
-
Marsha in prayer. She's um been on a a
-
divine assignment with her family.
-
>> Amen. Cuz you know, other than that, you
-
know, she'd have been here on the floor
-
>> just to shout. Watch this. Make a joyful
-
noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
-
>> Serve the Lord with what?
-
>> Yeah. Come be Look here. Come before his
-
presence.
-
>> Me and a brother of mine, we sit on the
-
phone sometimes and uh you know, I tend
-
to be late, you know, uh a night hour,
-
so I will go to bed early, you know, you
-
know, go to bed and then I get back up
-
because I'm still awake. And uh so
-
sometimes we'll text back and forth and
-
uh we were talking about it a few months
-
ago. You know, we thank God for the
-
praise team,
-
>> but you didn't used to have praise
-
teams.
-
>> You used to have the folk on the floor,
-
the deacon. I know some of the folk
-
church got you had a deacon on the
-
deacon down here and then they started
-
start off a song.
-
Yes. [applause]
-
>> And everybody had to sing the song cuz
-
we nobody have a mic.
-
>> And I thank God still for the praise
-
team. But what it has done is opened a
-
door for us to at the time when we're
-
supposed to be offering our praise to
-
God, we're watching and listening other
-
folks sing.
-
>> You got to catch yourself. MAKE YOURSELF
-
LOOK UP there on them on those po what
-
do you call them thing screens. Read
-
them words. Think about them and sing
-
them out your mouth.
-
>> Because if it's my birthday, I don't
-
care how many other people say happy
-
birthday to me. If don't part his lips,
-
y'all ain't talking to me.
-
>> Just cuz he's at the at the house while
-
everybody's celebrating. Uh-uh.
-
I'm looking first. And blessedly, I
-
don't have to worry about it cuz he
-
going to make sure 4:00 in the morning
-
when he get up.
-
[laughter]
-
He lay out my little stuff. Thank you.
-
When I get up around 7:30,
-
5. Yeah. Right. Watch this. Come before
-
the Lord. Come before his presence with
-
what?
-
>> Folks, this is telling me what I need to
-
do.
-
>> So, it's not about whether I like THE
-
SONG. IT'S NOT ABOUT WHETHER I'M ON KEY.
-
IT'S NOT ABOUT THAT. I'm coming before
-
the Lord's presence. He told me to come
-
singing.
-
>> No. See, this is why it's about
-
acknowledgment.
-
>> Don't you know that he is God?
-
>> It is he that has made us.
-
>> I wish I had me somebody. And not we
-
ourselves. We are his people and the
-
sheep OF HIS PASTURE. HE SAID, "IF YOU
-
GOING TO ENTER INTO MY GATES AND YOU
-
GOING TO FIND YOUR WAY INTO MY COURTS,
-
YOU GOING TO HAVE TO COME IN WITH
-
PRAISE, BE THANKFUL, AND BLESS my name."
-
Y'all ain't talking to me.
-
So God is saying, "I have CALLED YOU TO
-
APPROACH ME A CERTAIN WAY WHEN YOU
-
ACKNOWLEDGE that I'm God." Yeah.
-
>> And see, we got to be careful because
-
though he is father and though he's a
-
friend that sticks closer than a
-
brother, IT DON'T FORGET THAT HE'S GOD.
-
>> Every now and then you raise, you know,
-
I had teenagers at one point, that point
-
long since gone. I think you know what I
-
think my my coming up on retirement has
-
taught everybody about time
-
>> because I told y'all 20 years of 21
-
years ago I'm retiring December 14th
-
2025 everybody like [laughter]
-
and about about 15 years later y'all
-
December 14th 2025 y child that's what
-
that child went over there it's next
-
week [laughter]
-
excuse me.
-
>> Are you understand? See how quick stuff
-
goes.
-
>> He says, "I WANT YOU TO ACKNOWLEDGE
-
>> THAT HE'S GOD." Watch this. I had teens
-
and every now and then I tried to, you
-
know, I tried to be somewhat modern, but
-
not really. You know, I wasn't, you
-
know, it's being a parent ain't easy.
-
>> Where my parents at? Come on, tell the
-
truth. It ain't easy, is it? You know,
-
you're trying to be cuz you want them to
-
be able to talk to you. Then they roll
-
up off their mouth wrong
-
>> and you were trying, you know, trying to
-
be hip with them. So, you know, hey
-
babe, I'm here for you. I'm in your
-
corner, dog. [laughter]
-
And then I said, clean your room. He
-
said, "Mom, why you crazy?"
-
>> And you got to be careful that you don't
-
just think of God. Oh, you're such a
-
great mother. You're so sweet. Yeah,
-
>> he is God.
-
>> No, y'all. UH-UH. UH-UH. HE'S GOD.
-
[cheering]
-
>> NO. HERE IT IS AGAIN. HE'S GOD.
-
>> He made this world. He is God. And if he
-
NEVER DID ANYTHING FOR US, WE MUST
-
ACKNOWLEDGE WHO HE IS AND BOW BEFORE
-
HIM. DON'T LET NOBODY FOOL YOU. I DON'T
-
CARE WHO ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE. ACT LIKE
-
THEY SO BIG AND BAD. IT IS HE THAT HAS
-
MADE US AND NOT WE OURSELVES. AND EVERY
-
KNEE IS GOING TO BOW. AMEN.
-
>> And every tongue is going to confess.
-
[cheering]
-
>> He says, "You acknowledge me."
-
>> He says, "Enter into his gates with
-
thanksgiving, into his courts with
-
praise." Be thankful unto him
-
>> and bless his name. I told you many
-
times if y'all security, you have to
-
double up in your personal life.
-
>> What did I say?
-
>> Double up.
-
>> They got to double up because they are
-
trained when they are in here to stay
-
somewhat out of it.
-
So they because they can't and then
-
somebody come in here and clown.
-
>> So they have to train themselves to hear
-
the worship, hear the music, but stay
-
focused.
-
>> But that same assignment.
-
>> If they don't double down privately,
-
>> they'll be in position to backslide.
-
>> So they have to double down. So in the
-
morning, you got to get UP AND SAY,
-
"GOD, I WANT TO THANK YOU.
-
I can't I don't get a chance to holler
-
at church. In church, I GOT TO WATCH CUZ
-
SOME OF THESE FOLK are
-
>> Let me show you something else. Sneak
-
over to Psalm 95. Come on. Just a few
-
pages back. Psalm 95. Just let's run a
-
little bit. Oh, come let us worship and
-
bow down.
-
>> I said he's God. We got to bow down.
-
Come on. Let us kneel before the Lord
-
our maker. For he is God and we are the
-
people of his pasture and the sheep of
-
his hand.
-
>> That's our job.
-
>> That's our job, y'all.
-
>> Let me show you what happens. Go to
-
Romans. When we don't want to do it,
-
>> go to Romans chapter one.
-
>> See it. When you won't praise, it's an
-
indication you have an issue with him
-
being God.
-
>> Come on, let's think through it now.
-
Yeah.
-
When you won't open your mouth, he says,
-
"Come before me.
-
>> You come before me with singing,
-
>> you you you be thankful and bless my
-
name.
-
>> Lord, your name is great. God, I thank
-
you. God, I honor you. Thank you for
-
another day. God, I give you glory.
-
Hallelujah. Jesus, don't make no
-
difference how I'm feeling about it. I
-
Here's what I know. You're God and
-
you're worthy of this. You're holy. You
-
everything that you are, you are through
-
and through. You don't change. You ain't
-
sometime. I worship you. That's blessing
-
his name.
-
>> Thank you, Lord.
-
>> All right, y'all. In Romans 1,
-
>> watch this. Start reading the verse 20.
-
>> Give me verse uh 20 and 21. Y'all read.
-
>> Uh-uh. I asked you, were you there?
-
>> Romans 1 20 and 21. Come on.
-
>> Everybody
-
>> Uhhuh.
-
>> are clearly seen,
-
>> being understood. Come on.
-
>> Even his eternal power and godhead so
-
that they are without.
-
>> Now, just as a tidbit, what he's saying
-
is you can look around in nature, even
-
without a Bible, and tell this world
-
didn't just pop up the way it is. You
-
can tell just from looking at the beauty
-
of the trees and the depth of colors
-
that there is a God that created all of
-
this. And if you can do that, then you
-
ought to acknowledge him.
-
>> Watch this. In verse 21,
-
>> read it.
-
>> When they knew God, what?
-
>> Oh, you Oh. Oh, wait. Wait. Oh, oh. You
-
know there's God, but you ain't going to
-
say nothing.
-
>> YOU KNOW GOD, YOU KNOW YOU DIDN'T MAKE
-
YOU. And you know you AIN'T KEPT YOU.
-
MANY TIMES YOU AND I HAVE DONE dumb
-
stuff. We should have been cut off.
-
>> Oh, I got a few people. We should have
-
been taken out of here. We could have
-
easily driven the car while we were lit.
-
>> I know y'all sanctified. You don't
-
remember those days, do you? Lying
-
wonder. Do you understand what I'm
-
saying?
-
>> But he kept us.
-
>> So you mean to tell me you knew God, but
-
you were too too proud, too clean, too
-
intelligent to glorify him?
-
>> He said they knew him, but they wouldn't
-
glorify him, and they wasn't thankful.
-
God said, "I let you become vain in your
-
imagination. Your foolish heart is going
-
to be darkened."
-
>> You need to understand that worship,
-
praising God is an acknowledgment that
-
he's God.
-
>> To not open your mouth, to not be
-
willing to lift your hand.
-
>> Jesus,
-
>> let's I mean, come on.
-
You got a problem with authority
-
>> because he said, "Come before me this
-
way."
-
>> Let me just read this in Psalm 29:1 and
-
give unto the Lord, oh ye mighty. Give
-
unto the Lord glory and strength. Give
-
unto the Lord the glory that's due his
-
name.
-
>> Worship the Lord in the beauty of
-
holiness.
-
>> Watch this. Praise is an assignment.
-
Write it down. Praises are what?
-
>> Now, I need you to understand something.
-
I I really want you to get a hold of
-
this. Go to first Peter. I don't know if
-
you know it, but you and I don't have
-
the privilege of choosing our divine
-
assignment.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> There are general assignments. It's like
-
being in a family. Everybody got to make
-
their bed.
-
>> Now, some people will wash dishes,
-
others will vacuum. La. Everybody going
-
to make that bed.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> That's good.
-
Okay. But here's the thing. In the
-
kingdom of God, our first
-
>> assignment
-
is to replace the void that the fall of
-
Lucifer left
-
>> as the covering cherub. What we call
-
Satan. Satan, the opposer.
-
Y'all already know your Bible. at one
-
point was a was an angel.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> He ain't want to worship.
-
>> Look who you were acting like
-
>> when you won't open your mouth.
-
>> Jesus.
-
>> Now, I don't want to get musty when I
-
come to church either. But it's God that
-
gave me strength.
-
>> If something about this right here
-
blesses him,
-
>> then that's what I'mma do.
-
>> I can't let myself think I'm here on a
-
date somewhere.
-
>> I'mma just, you know,
-
>> y'all go ahead. That note ain't my
-
thing. [laughter]
-
What is that?
-
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. How you say
-
no?
-
>> Watch this. First Peter chapter 2. You
1 Peter 2 chapter mention
-
and I are responsible. When when Lucifer
-
decided he didn't want to he didn't want
-
to worship, he wasn't going to do that.
-
And Ezekiel, he said, "Oh, no, no. I'mma
-
be like the most high." God said, "No,
-
no, not up here you ain't." And the
-
Bible said we saw him fall like
-
lightning.
-
>> So the co the worshshiping covering
-
cherub
-
was now gone and took a third of the
-
angels with him
-
>> became demons.
-
>> I just don't believe God ought to be
-
lacking nothing
-
>> as good as he been to us.
-
[applause and cheering]
-
>> I don't feel like God ought to be
-
lacking a hallelujah.
-
>> Oh, I wish I had me somebody. I don't
-
think God ought to lack hearing he's
-
great and greatly to be praised. I don't
-
think he OUGHT TO LACK KNOWING THAT HE
-
IS LOVED AND HONORED AND ADORED. NOT
-
WHEN HE SAVED ME. NOT WHEN HE PICKED me
-
up, turn me around, PLACE MY FEET ON
-
SOLID GROUND. HE OUGHT NOT MISS
-
ANYTHING.
-
LONG AS I GOT BREATH IN MY BODY.
-
IT'S A DECISION THAT I MAKE
-
TO GLORIFY THE GOD that see you. Oh
-
Lord, I'm not even just I'm talking
-
about my salvation. Now don't get me
-
wrong, that's where I'm focusing. But
-
y'all don't know what it is to not have
-
enough money to pay bills.
-
>> No, you don't. I know y'all don't. No,
-
you don't. I don't even believe you. Mm-
-
mm- They don't know. They don't know.
-
>> No, you don't. Cuz if you did,
-
>> and you paid the ones you had last
-
month,
-
>> she got it. She got it. IF YOU'VE EVER
-
BEEN TO A PLACE WHERE THERE WAS NO MONEY
-
TO BE FOUND, IT WON'T LIKE YOU, WELL,
-
I'M GOING HAVE TO WAIT. I DON'T KNOW
-
WHEN I'MMA GET IT. AND GOD STILL BROUGHT
-
YOU THROUGH. AND NOW YOU CAN PAY YOUR
-
BILLS WHEN I COME INTO THE HOUSE. I
-
SAID, GOD, I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR
-
EVERYTHING YOU DONE, for everything
-
you've
-
Hey, [screaming]
-
>> hallelujah.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
>> And we only we only had to talk about
-
stuff.
-
>> LET'S TALK ABOUT PEACE. [cheering] LET'S
-
TALK ABOUT BEING SO MESSED UP IN YOUR
-
HEAD THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN SLEEP AT NIGHT
-
THAT OVER AND OVER ALL THIS MESS IS IN
-
YOUR MIND. THEN WHEN GOD BRINGS YOU
-
THROUGH IT AND YOU SAY, "GOD, I WANT TO
-
>> WHAT?"
-
HALLELUJAH.
-
>> The Bible says, sit down y'all. I'm
-
sorry.
-
>> The Bible says that he has made us to be
-
priests.
-
EVERYBODY MAY NOT BE A PREACHER, BUT
-
EVERYBODY IN HERE IS A PRIEST.
-
>> OH, you you missed that. May not be A
-
PREACHER, BUT YOU ARE A priest if you're
-
born again.
-
>> Are y'all in 1 Peter 2:9?
-
>> Where my reader, Pastor Chris? I thought
-
you were reading tonight.
-
>> Lord have mercy.
-
>> All right. 1 Peter 2:9. Hurry, y'all.
-
>> First Peter 2:9.
-
>> Yeah. Yeah. But ye are a chosen
-
generation.
-
>> Somebody thank him that he chose you.
-
>> Yeah, honey. Let me tell you something.
-
That that right there. See again. Oh,
-
we're doing too much. We're doing too.
-
Oh my god. I've been chosen.
-
>> Don't make any difference down here. If
-
folk act like they don't see my value.
-
You know what? Whatever. Oh lord. See, I
-
done got ugly now. I mean it though.
-
Whatever. You know what? Whatever.
-
Because he chose me.
-
>> Oh God. AFTER YOU ARE LONG GONE, he
-
chose me.
-
You you GO IN AND OUT OF FOLK LIKE YOU
-
DO DRAWS. BUT JESUS chose
-
>> every now and then you got to remind
-
yourself I've been chosen. [cheering]
-
>> A chosen generation.
-
>> Watch this. What's this next thing?
-
>> A royal priesthood.
-
>> A holy nation.
-
>> A peculiar people.
-
>> What you say?
-
>> That you should show forth the praises
-
of God. chose us
-
>> so we could shoe forth.
-
>> Okay.
-
>> It's the difference when you have a a
-
baby sometime they can throw up and it
-
just comes out
-
>> that you they that's when it shows up
-
that they don't feel good. But when it
-
shoots forth it
-
>> it's projectile. It is. Y'all y'all not
-
talking. Y'all not talking with me. I'm
-
not talking about I'm not talking about
-
praising on the down low. I'm not
-
talking about I'm talking about He said,
-
"I chose you so you could get loud for
-
me. I CHOSE YOU SO YOU COULD SHOW FOR
-
OH, LORD have mercy. [cheering] IS THERE
-
ANYBODY IN HERE THAT DOESN'T MIND SAYING
-
I DON'T CARE WHO'S LOOKING, but my
-
praise [screaming]
-
belongs to God.
-
Boy,
-
>> he picked me up.
-
[cheering]
-
>> I was a chronic underachiever.
-
>> And God,
-
>> see, oh, y'all said, see, let me tell
-
you something.
-
>> Y'all know my uncle, he didn't mean no
-
harm by it because I was I was a I was a
-
troubled, it looked like I was getting
-
ready to carry my mom and them through.
-
Ooh, it was one of them things where
-
they adopt you and then somebody say,
-
"You sure? You might want to check to
-
see how long is there return policy."
-
And I was thinking about it, you know,
-
the other Sunday, you know, y'all did so
-
much for me, had me tried to cry and
-
whatnot, and they presented the key to
-
the city, and I said, "Wonder what the
-
key goes to." So, I'm just making a joke
-
about it, you know, I'm just cutting up.
-
And I realized my mom and them was so
-
proud.
-
It was even be it, you know, it didn't
-
hit me the same,
-
>> but they had watched when it just looked
-
like I wasn't gonna ever round the
-
corner.
-
>> God said, "I chose you."
-
>> Watch this. And while you were acting a
-
clown, I kept my hand on you.
-
>> While it LOOKED LIKE YOU WASN'T GOING TO
-
EVER COME THROUGH IT, I NEVER LEFT YOU.
-
YOU WALKED OFF FROM ME, GOD SAID, BUT I
-
STAYED CLOSE TO YOU BECAUSE IT WAS
-
EVENTUALLY GOING TO BE MY PLAN FOR YOU
-
TO SHOW FORTH. [screaming]
-
Y'ALL DON'T FEEL LIKE TALKING.
-
>> God chose us.
-
>> To project out, to show forth
-
>> his praise.
-
>> We're called to this. This is what
-
priests do.
-
>> They offer sacrifices. They teach the
-
scripture. They guarded the sanctuary.
-
They blessed the people. But 1
-
Chronicles 23.
-
>> Hurry. Y'all getting anything?
-
>> I just I want us to just take this in.
-
It's not not trying to be deep. I just
-
want to want us to get hold of it.
-
>> It's what we've been called to do.
-
>> That's what Don't let people praise by
-
themsel.
-
>> They up here shouting. Shout with them.
-
You ain't You don't need nothing to hit
-
you.
-
>> You in your right mind. You got clothes
-
and you ate this week.
-
What
-
>> do you know how many folk are snapping
-
mentally?
-
>> Living in fantasy world just is crazy.
-
>> No shade on people with mental illness.
-
Just understand what I'm saying. Do you
-
realize how many people are just not
-
well at all
-
>> and you run around here in your right
-
mind?
-
Thank you.
-
>> Sometime you got to thank God when you
-
can tell you ain't thinking right.
-
>> You ever had some thoughts say, "I know
-
this ain't right. I shouldn't even be
-
thinking." THAT RIGHT THERE IS A
-
BLESSING. THAT YOU EVEN KNOW THAT THAT'S
-
JACKED UP IS A BLESSING.
-
>> Y'all in 1 Chronicles, come on here.
-
Y'all not f to hold us all night. 1
-
Chronicles 23. I guess I've been holding
-
y'all all morning, so y'all tried to get
-
me bad. Watch this. This is what he
-
called them to do. You can read it at
-
your leisure in 1 Chronicles 23. It
-
begins at verse 26. He's telling you
-
what the priest are going to do and they
-
don't have to carry all the furniture of
-
the tabernacle. La. And then he talks to
-
them from 20 years old and above and
-
offices to do this and that. But I want
-
you to look this thing in verse 30. This
-
is a part of their responsibility. Check
-
this. And this is us cuz we're the royal
-
priesthood. Who are we?
-
>> The royal priesthood.
-
>> Look at your neighbor and say, "Hey
-
priest."
-
>> Hey priest.
-
>> Yeah. That's right. So then what the
-
priest supposed to do according to verse
-
30
-
>> and to stand every morning
-
>> what?
-
>> To thank and praise the Lord.
-
>> What you say?
-
>> And likewise at evening.
-
>> There go your job description. There it
-
is right there. In the morning
-
>> EVERY MORNING.
-
>> GET UP AND PUT YOUR FEET ON THE FLOOR
-
AND SAY, "GOD, YOUR PRIEST IS READY TO
-
SERVE YOU. I want to thank YOU FOR YOUR
-
MERCY AND YOUR GRACE. I WANT TO THANK
-
YOU FOR BEING MY GOD. THANK YOU FOR
-
BEING MY SAVIOR. I praise YOU THAT I'M
-
IN MY RIGHT MIND. I PRAISE YOU FOR FOOD
-
ON MY TABLE. Y'ALL DON'T MAKE ME GO
-
BACK. I PRAISE YOU FOR CLOTHES ON MY
-
BACK, shoes on my feet.
-
>> I'M JUST TRYING TO THAT'S WHAT IT SAID.
-
AND THEN AT NIGHT TIME,
-
>> y'all saw it.
-
>> You see that?
-
>> This what he called me to do.
-
>> Yes, sir.
-
>> It seems simple, don't it?
-
>> My God.
-
>> I told you the Christian life is not
-
intended to weigh you out like that. Are
-
there troubles? Oh, of course, cuz your
-
flesh going to fight you.
-
>> The enemy will attack.
-
>> But still, it's relatively simple. Stay
-
true to Jesus.
-
>> But it's right here.
-
>> We're called to praise. We got to hurry.
-
Okay. So, how many see it's an
-
assignment
-
>> every morning when you get up.
-
>> Don't you reach for that phone. I hope
-
your fingers start.
-
>> Don't you touch that. I'mma show up at
-
your house and just slap it off your
-
[laughter]
-
nightstand.
-
>> Put that thing down.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Ain't nobody you can call on that better
-
than who you can call when you open your
-
mouth and tell him thank you.
-
Hallelujah. Don't worry about who liked
-
your post. [cheering]
-
[applause]
-
>> I I have to confess to y'all. That's why
-
I don't hardly be up there. I I know I I
-
know I should do better,
-
>> but I can't I can't I can't keep up with
-
every all y'all and him.
-
>> Now, maybe you can. You got more
-
bandwidth than I do. I don't have that
-
much.
-
>> No. Y'all first wake up,
-
>> my feet hit the floor. This every
-
>> day.
-
every morning.
-
>> Said, "Thank you, Jesus.
-
>> God, I thank I thank you for who you are
-
to me.
-
>> I'm sorry y'all. I feel old. I thank you
-
for being my all and all. I thank you,
-
Lord, for being in my right mind that
-
you I MEAN, I JUST START THANKING HIM
-
FOR THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE. LET ME TELL YOU
-
SOMETHING. GET UP IN THE MORNING AND
-
SAY, "GOD, THANK YOU THAT YOU LET ME
-
LIVE ANOTHER DAY. THANK YOU, GOD, THAT I
-
GOT IN MY MIND AND WANT TO DO RIGHT. I
-
MAY HAVE MESSED UP YESTERDAY, BUT THANK
-
YOU THAT YOUR MERCY IS NEW EVERY
-
MORNING. Great
-
is your faithfulness.
-
>> Yes, sir.
-
>> Then we need an awareness. Come on.
-
Here. I'm got two more. I got to hurry
-
up and go. I just got We got to do. So,
-
first of all, we're called to praise
-
because it's an acknowledgement that
-
he's God.
-
>> You cannot sherk back on that.
-
Nobody's approval and opinion is as
-
important as the Lord
-
>> cuz he's our savior
-
>> and then it's our divine assignment.
-
You may you may be called to serve
-
children's room. You may be called to do
-
sound. You may be called security. You
-
may be a musical Levite. You may serve
-
in all variety of capacity. You may be
-
in the background working on the digital
-
stuff and all the tech stuff and
-
whatever. But your first assignment sir,
-
>> is to be a priest before God
-
>> and offer the sacrifice of praise.
-
>> Not that it ought to be hard for you to
-
do it. Now, sometimes it is. If you have
-
enoughness going on, you got to press
-
through yourself.
-
[cheering and applause]
-
>> But normally, it doesn't mean sacrifice
-
like it's so hard. It means it's
-
replacing all the bulocks and the goats.
-
>> I ain't have to I ain't have to drag no
-
goat in here.
-
I drug my hallelujah in here.
-
>> Okay, come on. Come on. The third thing,
-
and there's only four, is the awareness.
-
We're called to praise because of an
-
awareness of his goodness.
-
>> What's the first thing you start working
-
on the little child with? When you give
-
them something,
-
>> you say thank you.
-
>> And if they act like they don't, now I'm
-
talking about I'm talking about the
-
older parents now. I'm not talking about
-
this new the new breed. I don't know.
-
Some of these new breeds starting to get
-
old again.
-
>> Have you noticed that? I saw some Well,
-
let me let me talk about it. But suffice
-
it to say, old school exists in all kind
-
of cultures.
-
>> But here's my thing. The first thing you
-
tell them, you learn to say thank you.
-
>> The Bible teaches us. Look at Psalm 34.
-
God, hurry here. Y'all know it. Oh my
-
gosh. We got to go. I may not get to the
-
last one. Watch this. Psalm 34.
-
But this is what we're called to do. And
-
I just wanted you to have a biblical
-
perspective of it.
-
>> I just wanted to remind us because there
-
are things that God wants to do. Oh, I'm
-
getting ahead. There are things that God
-
wants to do in you and for you that you
-
will not access until you press far
-
enough in.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> In the Oh, how do I say it? In the same
-
way that um
-
oh I don't know how to say it because
-
back in the day it was bumping and
-
grinding. I don't know what they call it
-
now. It's probably something different.
-
Psalm 34.
-
You just had to drop that right there.
-
But if you come to church and and you
-
won't and you don't ever strip, as it
-
were,
-
>> and you stay closed,
-
>> you you you will not leave with anything
-
divine in you.
-
>> And no matter how they preach, no matter
-
how they sing, no matter what's going
-
on, you will miss it. Because there are
-
people that come into services and their
-
whole mental health is shifted. There
-
are people that come in and physical
-
bodies are healed. There are people that
-
come in and started out, I get
-
testimonies all the time. When I came, I
-
didn't have two nickels to rub together.
-
And now look at what God has done. We're
-
living debtree and we're this that and
-
and they sat on the same pew with
-
somebody who's in the same situation.
-
Never changed.
-
>> Psalm 34. Now you know it's time they
-
cutting the lights out on me. That's
-
that's old right there. They just shut
-
the lights down. Next thing would be the
-
mic. I will bless the Lord at all times.
-
His praise shall continually be in my
-
mouth.
-
>> How often should it be in there?
-
>> Continually.
-
>> I don't care who I'm with. See, that'll
-
help you too. Especially if you used to
-
cuss real bad.
-
>> Start praising
-
>> cuz you you you could you will mess
-
around. Listen to me now. Cuz things I
-
used to cuss very badly, like a lot, and
-
was good at doing it.
-
>> So, it was it was a challenge to step it
-
over to get rid of it.
-
>> But I knew the Bible didn't want me to
-
do it.
-
But what I found is the more I praised,
-
>> the less I was willing to let that junk
-
come out my mouth.
-
>> So when somebody would do something, I
-
said, you know, [laughter] you
-
glory.
-
Hallelujah.
-
>> Do it enough times and see.
-
>> Do it enough times, see what happened.
-
>> You'll get victory over it.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> My soul shall make her boast in the
-
Lord. The humble shall hear thereof and
-
be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me
-
and let us exalt his name together. Why?
-
I sought the Lord and he heard me and
-
deliver me from my fears. That's why
-
I'mma bless him at all times. Look on
-
down verse six. This poor man cried. The
-
Lord heard him and saved me out of my
-
trouble. That's why I'm going to bless
-
him over and over. Oh, taste and see
-
that the Lord is good. Over and over, HE
-
SAYS, "THE MORE AWARE YOU are of what
-
I've done, the more consistent you ought
-
to be in your praise."
-
And you have to make up your mind to
-
start looking at the way God has blessed
-
you and not the challenges in front of
-
you.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> At the same point that Peter was
-
standing there realizing, dog, I'm in a
-
storm, when he first noticed it, he was
-
literally standing on top of water.
-
>> And he had company with Jesus.
-
>> What are you looking at? You can There's
-
always a reason to praise.
-
>> Watch this. and generally always a
-
reason to complain.
-
>> I'm not saying that you don't go through
-
tough things. Of course you do. Of
-
course I do. But I'm saying we have an
-
opportunity to choose what we going to
-
focus on.
-
>> And I'mma focus on the goodness of God.
-
>> Said, man, they said, uh, somebody sent
-
me this picture, that poor Christmas
-
tree. I'm tell you, that tree had been
-
through something. They said, this is
-
the kind of Christmas that's going to
-
be. That tree was like this right here.
-
And I said, "Well, at least you'll have
-
the day off.
-
I mean, if you I mean, if you can't put
-
nothing under, thank God, sit there. At
-
least you ain't work. Sit there and look
-
at it.
-
Go back to the old school. You can't
-
don't you can't honey. These ornaments
-
so expensive. Shut up complaining and
-
string some popcorn if you really want
-
to." Oh, I done gone old now. Then who
-
Anybody remember that?
-
>> Y'all bougie jokers.
-
Watch this. Psalm 145. Hurry, hurry,
-
y'all.
-
You have to be aware of the blessings of
-
God. I guarantee you, there are 30
-
things that you could praise God for
-
right now.
-
>> I got shoes on my feet.
-
>> Come on.
-
>> I can feel my feet.
-
>> Got some socks.
-
>> I got some circulation in my legs. Thank
-
God I had some pants I could wear. You
-
know, you gain a little weight. You
-
just, oh God, am I? That's okay. I had
-
them that size, got them in this. Hey to
-
God, who in the world I must be truly
-
rich. I got pants in multiple sizes.
-
[laughter]
-
I mean, it just depends on what YOU WANT
-
TO LOOK AT. SEE, WHAT THE ENEMY IS
-
HOPING IS THAT YOU WILL FOCUS ON THE
-
NEGATIVE AND DRY YOUR PRAISE UP. NOW,
-
NOW ALL WE GOT IS PORK AND BEANS. DO YOU
-
NOT KNOW SOMEBODY WOULD GET THOSE PORK
-
AND BEANS AND GO INTO A PRAISE LIKE YOU
-
AIN'T NEVER SEEN?
-
>> Psalm 145. Hurry.
-
Just write it down for your for your
-
your your personal use. All of it's
-
good. I'll extol thee, my God, O king,
-
and I'll bless your name forever and
-
ever. Every day will I bless you, and
-
I'll praise your name forever and ever.
-
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be
-
praised. His greatness and is
-
unsearchable. And he said, "One
-
generation ought to praise your works to
-
another." That's why I tell you, don't
-
let folks shout alone.
-
>> And watch this. Watch this, older
-
saints. Don't let the children just
-
stand up there. You go grab them.
-
>> You said, "Well, honey, they so young.
-
They don't know what they doing." Well,
-
then show them then.
-
>> Oh, y'all ain't talking to me. If you've
-
been through so much, show them. Show
-
them how to praise him.
-
>> Come on. That don't even look holy.
-
Well, show them a holy one.
-
>> Well, shut up. Let them find their way.
-
>> Come on. Have church with me now. Have
-
church with me.
-
>> Same thing. Y'all see mother them young
-
people? Y'all see mother them in the
-
corner? Go over there beside mother and
-
praise him.
-
>> Amen. Amen.
-
>> Watch this. Let me get on through here.
-
Verse six. Men shall speak of the mighty
-
uh of thy terrible of thy might, excuse
-
me. All and men shall speak of the might
-
of thy terrible acts, and I will declare
-
your greatness. This is the verse I
-
love. They shall abundantly utter the
-
memory of thy great goodness
-
>> and sing of your right. Every night, you
-
ought to just go back in your mind and
-
think and bring it up and praise over it
-
again.
-
>> Ain't that what that Philippians said?
-
Rejoice in the Lord always and again I
-
say rejoice. That mean rejoice over it.
-
>> So I already shouted over that. Well
-
shout over it again.
-
>> The fact that you can remember it. Shout
-
over that.
-
>> Oh my God. Last thing I want to share in
-
this access.
-
>> You're called to praise because praise
-
brings access. Listen to me carefully as
-
I have ex, you know, gone beyond. Here's
-
our thing.
-
There there are miraculous things that
-
God has in his presence that he has
-
scheduled for every encounter.
-
>> In other words, the scripture says where
-
two or three are gathered,
-
>> I'm in the midst.
-
>> God does nothing and is nowhere without
-
a purpose. My God.
-
>> So, whatever there is a gathering,
-
>> he's not only going to receive the
-
praise and worship we offer, but God has
-
an intention.
-
>> Yes.
-
>> For that encounter.
-
>> And what he showed me was it flows like
-
a current
-
>> Jesus.
-
>> God has a current that will flow through
-
every service. Doesn't mean every one of
-
them ends up with us running.
-
>> Sometimes we'll be on our knees crying.
-
whatever his intention, maybe it's to
-
see his holiness, maybe it's to see our
-
sinfulness and and and cry out for
-
mercy.
-
>> But there is an intention in every
-
encounter.
-
And without your getting into praise,
-
you'll miss it.
-
>> There are people that die of thirst
-
beside rivers
-
>> every Sunday. Yeah,
-
>> they die of thirst right there beside it
-
>> because they won't they won't open their
-
mouth.
-
>> They won't ask for anything. When you
-
come to church, you say, "Hey, make hug
-
everybody. Come in. Excuse me. Come in."
-
Grinning and blink. Hey man, you
-
[laughter]
-
let me have the music start.
-
I'm in a zone.
-
>> I'm in a zone. You have to let her I'm
-
in a zone. Talk to me later. I'm in a
-
zone. Don't come in here and ask me
-
nothing. Y'all know Right?
-
>> Why? Because there's something God want
-
to do in this service.
-
>> Let me I can't tell you when I got freed
-
from the feeling of shame over
-
molesting,
-
but it was in a worship service.
-
>> I can't tell you the exact moment I
-
stopped cursing,
-
>> but I know that I got free in his
-
presence.
-
I'm trying to get you to understand that
-
there's a miraculous power, a
-
supernatural release that brings
-
deliverance that you access through your
-
praise. I can stand here and watch the
-
praise team praise and I will have a
-
great church service, but it won't do
-
nothing for me.
-
>> I mean, it'll encourage me a little bit.
-
You understand? You know, it was good. I
-
enjoyed the songs. That ain't enough.
-
>> How many know that's not enough for the
-
world you got to live in? the stuff you
-
got to f I can't come in here and just
-
be clapping for y'all.
-
>> There too much going on in this world.
-
>> The Bible says he inhabits the praise
-
>> of his people. Psalm 22 and3. And in our
-
text tonight, and I just want you to
-
make note of 2 Chronicles 5, it says
-
that they came in and they began to
-
worship and praise God until smoke
-
>> filled.
-
And I started to say, "Bring the smoke."
-
>> Yes, sir.
-
>> Can I tell you something? You say,
-
"Well, I don't feel like it today."
-
Well, can I just throw this out to you?
-
Your lack of participation is hindering
-
the amount of glory that God releases.
-
And somebody on your row needs a miracle
-
and you may be holding stuff up.
-
[applause]
-
>> That's why I'mma shout with anybody to
-
shout. I don't know what they're going
-
through. I ain't got to know. I don't
-
even feel like it sometime.
-
>> It don't matter. Put my little hand up.
-
>> I ain't going to let you do by yourself.
-
Why? Whatever my praise adds to the
-
environment
-
>> because I know that when they begin to
-
praise and worship. You saw it in
-
Jericho when they praised and worshiped
-
God and shouted. All of them shouted
-
with a great shout, the walls fell flat.
-
Somebody needs some limits to fall off
-
your life right now. That takes us all
-
shouting. [cheering]
-
>> [applause]
-
>> Man, we got to be willing to COME IN AND
-
GIVE GOD THE GLORY UNTIL SMOKE fills
-
>> because somebody needs more than maybe
-
you do today.
-
>> You may just think, "I'm good.
-
Everything all right?" Okay. Well, maybe
-
three three folk down
-
>> got a cancer diagnosis.
-
>> And if you could just stop
-
>> being so comfortable,
-
>> you even sit like you comfortable,
-
right? You know, we in church, we trying
-
to get into it like, you know, you want
-
people to be like, y'all be
-
>> Oh, but we're not going to do that. In
-
Acts chapter 16, let me just close the
Acts 16 chapter mention
-
Bible because that's what's happening.
-
Paul and Silas had every reason.
-
>> Yes.
-
>> Get this. They doing what's right and
-
then they get beat
-
and they get put in jail
-
>> and they get put in the inner in the
-
inner part of the prison
-
>> and they're hurting back is beaten
-
kicked stoned whole nine terrible stuff
-
bleeding
-
and at midnight
-
>> my god
-
>> cuz priests do it every day and in the
-
evening. though they at at midnight
-
>> they began to pray
-
>> and sing praises
-
>> and the other prisoners
-
>> heard them. They said, "Uh-uh, we are
-
hurting. We've been through a lot. We've
-
been mistreated. Our backs hurt. We got
-
headaches. All kind of stuff going
-
wrong." BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? THAT DOESN'T
-
change that God is still God. And that
-
doesn't change that God is still in the
-
midst. God is in the midst OF OUR PRISON
-
JUST LIKE HE WAS IN THE SANCTUARY. SEE,
-
THAT'S WHY YOU LORD HAVE MERCY. YOU'D
-
COME OUT A WHOLE LOT FASTER IF YOU
-
PRAISE GOD IN THE PRISON. THEN GOD COULD
-
GET YOU OUT OF THE PRISON. BUT AS LONG
-
AS YOU HOLDING ON TO YOUR PRAISE UNTIL
-
THINGS GET BETTER, YOU ARE DRAGGING THE
-
TIME OUT.
-
The Bible said they begin to pray and
-
sing praises
-
>> and THEY SUNG AND PRAISE SO LOUD I COULD
-
just hear, "Father, I stretch." Is that
-
what you said? my hands to thee. NO
-
OTHER HELP I KNOW. IF THOU WITHDRAW,
-
Y'ALL DON'T KNOW THE HYMN. THYSELF FROM
-
ME, WHEITHER SHALL I GO? THEY START
-
SINGING AND PRAYING AND THE PRAISES
-
START FILLING THE TEMPLE. SHOOT THE
-
PRISON. THEY TURNED IT into
-
>> I dare YOU TO TURN YOUR PRISON INTO A
-
TEMPLE. I DARE YOU TO TURN IT INTO A
-
SANCTUARY. THEY START SINGING and
-
praying. AND THE BIBLE SAID GOD ALLOWED
-
AN EARTHQUAKE. SEE, THERE'S SOMETHING
-
SUPERNATURAL
-
THAT'S RUMBLING RIGHT NOW. ALL YOU GOT
-
TO DO IS OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND SAY, "GOD,
-
[screaming] I THANK you even at
-
midnight. I THANK YOU EVEN AFTER I'VE
-
BEEN BEATEN. I THANK YOU EVEN THOUGH IT
-
DIDN'T GO MY WAY."
-
AND THE Bible said it shook
-
>> until watch this. I'm done. She heard
-
it. Ding Florence. All of them got
-
loosed.
-
>> Okay, you you you Okay, y'all missed it.
-
>> Here go the power of the praise that's
-
in your mouth.
-
>> They sang and praised, BUT EVERYBODY GOT
-
LOOSE. YOU [screaming] GOT DELIVERANCE
-
IN YOUR MOUTH. YOU GOT SUPERNATURAL
-
POWER IN your mouth. Church, [screaming]
-
say it.
-
>> Digina, our praise
-
>> could set the front row free.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
Y'all's praise COULD SET THAT SECTION
-
FREE. YOUR PRAISE
-
CAN SET YOUR FAMILY FREE.
-
YOUR PRAISE CAN CHANGE YOUR COMMUNITY.
-
SAY IT.
-
Say it.
-
>> So hear me. I want us to make a
-
commitment
-
>> to realizing what's in our mouth.
-
>> My thank you.
-
Not only does it bless him,
-
>> but it opens prison doors.
-
My hallelujah
-
>> blesses him, but can bring healing to
-
somebody.
-
>> God told me, "I'm done."
-
>> He said, "The way you come in to worship
-
>> is like setting the thermostat."
-
>> They use the flip side of it when you at
-
the doctor.
-
You go in there for surgery,
-
>> it is butt cold.
-
>> So, what is going on?
-
>> Y'all know I'm fit to be naked. What is
-
wrong?
-
But they need the temperature at a
-
certain place. They don't need it hot
-
and sticky.
-
>> We'll flip it.
-
We need it so hot
-
>> that demons don't want to stay.
-
>> WE NEED IT SO HOT IN HERE THAT THE
-
PASTOR CAN PREACH WHEN HE GETS UP. WE
-
NEED IT SO HOT IN HERE THAT SOMEBODY CAN
-
GO HOME WITH JOY.
-
>> SO, let's just make a commitment to
-
considering that we are called to
-
praise.
-
Right? And so now we're going to have a
-
little bit more engagement and
-
enthusiasm
-
>> in offering that to God
-
>> because you going to access your next
-
level of victory.
-
>> That thing coming through your praise.
-
[cheering and applause]
-
I shouted my way out of debt. Let's be
-
clear about that, folks. I dance my way
-
out of debt. Oh Lord have mercy.
-
I cried my way through
-
>> and got out of some junk
-
>> cuz praise
-
>> gives you access to the oil.
-
>> Lord, we thank you tonight
-
>> for your word. Just
-
>> Lord, help us to be mindful.
-
>> We come to praise you
-
>> and we should live every day to praise
-
you. It's our assignment. But Lord, help
-
us to remember the power
-
>> that's in our praise.
-
>> Praise is our weapon, too.
-
>> And it's what we do.
-
>> So Lord, receive our praise
-
>> and set captives free.
-
>> Let your heart be warmed [music]
-
>> and our hearts be healed
-
>> as we walk in our divine calling
-
>> as praisers
-
>> in Jesus name.
-
Amen.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Amen. [applause]
