It has been my intention over these past

37 years

to preach the whole council of God and

to do so in a way that would inform you

and inspire you to live your life out

loud for God and to enjoy every day that

you're given.

It's been my desire to preach and teach

truth about Jesus Christ, our only

savior.

>> To make sure you understood that it's

faith in Christ

>> and his finished work on the cross,

because I want to follow him. But water

baptism don't save me. I want to be

filled with the Holy Ghost overflowing

because he's a gift. He's my helper.

in Jesus Christ and his finished work is

about tithing and giving

>> YEAH, YOU CAN SERVE GOD BROKE, but it

ain't as fun.

>> It's easy to get distracted

>> when you trying to figure out how you

going to pay that utility bill.

>> RELATIONSHIPS HAVE A TENDENCY to be

under strain

>> when you don't have enough resources.

>> So, I tried to show you from the word of

God God's plan to get you into overflow.

>> WE DON'T SPEND OUR MONEY TO TAKE

>> I didn't think I'd have to pull y'all

been to teach you to love God and to

love yourself and to love people.

And that's why some people couldn't

stay.

>> Because if you got a desire to cut folk

up and backbite and dog folk, this not

the church for you. There plenty of

them. Go somewhere else. But if you

going to come here, we going to love

everybody because the Bible said there's

nothing that gives you boldness in the

day of judgment, but perfect love.

>> So I have to teach you to hold fast to

your freedom.

that everything social is not sinful.

>> Taught to teach you that we are tripart

spirit, soul, and body. That you got to

get control of that mind if you going to

live out the perfect will of God. You

can't feed yourself a bunch of nastiness

and then think holiness is going to come

naturally. You got Oh Lord, y'all fell

off again. You can be saved brand new on

the inside, but if you don't change your

mind, you will not see a change in your

life.

>> I've tried to teach you holiness.

>> And holiness is not something you put on

>> cuz you can cut I don't care how long

the dress is. When you get when you

start feeling freaky, you'll just pull

it up.

Oo Lord,

do you hear me? Y'all better come on,

talk to me. you you can wipe all your

makeup off and still be hateful as a

mug. Come on, y'all. So, it's not and

I'm I'm not I'm not dogging anybody's

personal preferences or what God may

have said to them. But that is not what

makes an individual holy.

>> He has made me holy through the blood of

Jesus. And I submit to the ministry of

Holy Spirit and he sanctifies. He deals

with you. Have you Have you had him do

it? He'll start telling you, you need to

walk away from that. You need to leave

this alone. this don't work good for

you. You stop feeding yourself this

because have you noticed you starting to

do too much thinking about cussing.

Well, if you wasn't

>> see and it's about letting Holy Spirit

help you mortify or put to death the

deeds of the body. Tried to talk about

that with you and to remind you that we

have a responsibility. They call it

social justice. But to me that you and I

ought to be those that stand up for

people who can't stand up for

themselves.

And in this day where people are calling

themselves Christians and just as racist

and sexist and full of classism, these

people are nuts.

>> And as I was reflecting, so like I told

you yesterday, I was kind of teary. I

didn't know what was I was on my knees

praying, "Oh God, have your way. Have

your way." And I'm tearing. I'm he leads

me

>> to Judges 4

>> because what I realized was

here is a beautiful passage that shows

two examples of what God wants to make

sure we don't fall into

>> because in Judges chapter 4 the children

Judges 4 · chapter mention

of Israel have gone through a period of

peace and plenty and prosperity and as

the case often is when we go through a

lot out of ease and got us two nickels

to rub together. We start forgetting

about our walk of faith.

>> Honey, you ain't heard nobody pray till

the bill is due.

>> Y'all ain't having church with me today.

>> Let me just preach and go on home. Yeah.

No, no, no, no. You Oh God, I'm asking

you. Oh God, move in the name of Jesus.

God, I need you to do it, God. Oh God,

do it, God. Do it, God. You walk in the

floor when it's something you want bad

enough,

>> but when everything good, got all the

money you need, you say, "You getting up

for devotion." Oh, is it today?

>> Oh, man. I I'm I'm I'mma get back to it.

>> Because prosperity and peace and plenty,

if you're not careful, can can make you

lax.

Come on, y'all. That's why I tell you,

you have to be careful. It's the nature

of security to make you forgetful.

>> When you when everything is secure,

you're not worried about things. If you

know you got watch poke, you if you got

watch dogs and you got security on the

outside of your house, you go on in, you

ain't worried about whether door locked

or not, cuz they come in, they're going

to get shot. You ain't even thinking

y'all ain't here.

>> And sometimes when God allows us those

seasons to really bask in his goodness,

we we we get lazy. It is up to you when

you become aware of how good God is.

It's up to you to say, "God, I'm not

going to forget. I'm going to still rise

and pray. I'm still going to give you

the glory. I'm still going to bring my

t." SEE, OH YEAH, WE WOULD T LET ME TELL

YOU SOMETHING. IT IS EASIER to tithe

when you're struggling than it is when

you got plenty.

>> I know you don't believe it cuz in your

mind you say, "Uh-uh, pastor, that don't

sound right." But honey, WHEN YOU AIN'T

GOT but $109

>> and you got $140 worth of bills, it can

BE CHALLENGING TO WRITE OUT THAT $10.90.

>> But you going to do IT BECAUSE IN YOUR

MIND, YOU SAY, "Let me tell you

something. I'm already struggling. I

need God to help me. Oh no, I got to pay

my tithe." Now, you may not get paid,

Sears, but let me tell you what. God

fitting to get here. Well, y'all,

>> but what do you do when you're bringing

home $30,000 a month?

>> Now, you have to be MOTIVATED BY

SOMETHING OTHER than your need.

>> Well, they dropped off. They stopped

doing what they should have done. They

didn't they didn't GRAB IT. SO, EHOOD

COMES ON THE SCENE. E comes big E.

>> Big E comes in and reminds them that

don't YOU GET SO UPPIDITY JUST CUZ YOU

GOT A NICE CAR AND JUST CUZ YOUR LITTLE

BILLS are paid. DON'T GET SO UPPETY THAT

YOU GOT A LOUIS VUITTON that you won't

reach in it and give us Y'all ain't

here. Still ain't here. Don't Don't let

the red bottom sit there and you won't

even dance on them. SURELY IF YOU GOT

$1,000 TO PAY FOR A PAIR OF SHOES, YOU

OUGHT TO SHOUT IN THEM.

to START LOOKING FOR THE CREASES in

these shoes.

>> He who comes on the scene and reminds us

>> that you got to live a certain way

because you ought to be covenant

conscious.

And what that says is

there's something wrong. When you first

read it, it's like, okay, Ehood dies and

they go back into that sinfulness. It's

like, well, maybe they were grieving.

Wait a minute.

Let me say this. If somebody dies or

moves off the scene and you stop doing

the stuff you were doing,

>> you weren't doing it for the right

reason to start with.

now. You used TO ALWAYS GET UP AND PRAY.

YOU USED TO always do it. NOW YOU DON'T

we had a real talk last night. I was

saying now I hope I believe God to live

many years. You know, I asked them, I

think I asked, I said, "Now, 84 sound

like a good number."

I said, "But in a very honest way, I

have to prepare them because my mother

passed at 65. Whoever she had been with,

they were already gone. Bae's parents

did not have long life.

I don't know how long,

>> but if and I know they're going to cry,

and I want them to cry. Cry.

I want you to go just cry a little bit.

cry and get your money.

God,

I want them. [laughter] Here she go. God

knows I love that woman.

>> I want them to rejoice. But here's the

thing. If I pass on and they collapse,

>> that is not honor to me.

>> That says I failed in some way. IF I DID

NOT PREPARE THEM ENOUGH TO KEEP ON

living and KEEP ON ENJOYING, KEEP ON

SERVING GOD, KEEP ON PRIORITIZING THEIR

FAMILY, IF I DID NOT TEACH THEM THAT

THEY GO TO PIECES AND FALL INTO THE

BOTTLE AND DON'T WANT TO DO RIGHT, I

didn't do well.

>> See, because sometimes

stuff that looks like honor ain't honor.

>> I thought about this thing. I said, "Now

Ehood, Big E dies and they go to

pieces." So I started thinking about

y'all.

>> I taught y'all from the word of God,

>> that you got to be strong enough for

your season.

>> That if the test and trials and

temptations of a particular season cause

a deterioration of already established

truth, you weren't strong enough for

your season. I taught you that we're not

just hes of God, but we're joint hes

with Jesus Christ. Oh God, that you

ought to be blessed. It's only right

that you be blessed. That there's a

shouldness to your bless. I TAUGHT YOU

THAT image is everything. IT'S NOT JUST

THE WINDOW THAT IT'S NOT JUST THE MIRROR

YOU LOOK INTO, BUT IT'S THE window you

look through. THAT YOU DON'T NEED

SOMEBODY ELSE TO VALIDATE YOU. YOU'VE

ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR. YOUR PRICE HAS

ALREADY BEEN SET. AND NUDGE YOUR

NEIGHBOR AND SAY, "AND I DON'T GIVE

DISCOUNTS."

>> I'VE ALREADY TAUGHT YOU THAT worship

is this awareness that I'm in his

presence and I desire to pour out

adoration, but I want to drink in who he

is. It is the purposeful putting DOWN OF

ONESELF SO that I could exalt the other.

I'VE ALREADY TAUGHT YOU THAT GOD IS

EVERYWHERE, BUT HE'S NOT EVERYWHERE IN

MANIFESTATION. BUT IF you want him TO

SHOW HIMSELF, YOU GOT TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH

AND START PRAISING HIM. If you ain't too

CUTE TO SAY, "GOD, I love you. God, I

NEED YOU. JESUS, AIN'T NOBODY LIKE YOU."

GOD WILL STEP FROM BEHIND THE INVISIBLE

and get active in your right now.

You know, I noticed on that shirt that

they had made, um, there were two

mistakes on it in the definitions. The

little shirt with me in the corner like

that right there. That's right there.

must be eligible for.

Oh God, I don't know. WE TAUGHT YOU

FAITH IS THAT SEED OF ETERNAL law given

TO MAN BY GOD SO that man CAN KNOW GOD.

I'M GOING too far back, can't a receive

his provision, you know, function will

all. So I I I've TAUGHT ALL THESE

THINGS. BUT IF WHEN I GET MOVED OFF THE

SCENE, YOU STEP AWAY FROM THAT,

>> that is not honor.

Mm- And I recognize if honor gets out of

balance,

if you get out of balance with honor for

your leader, and you ought to honor your

leader,

>> but if you get out of balance with it,

>> then you lose a God-scent conduit for

the supernatural. If you don't have

enough honor,

>> well, that just tread that just that lay

them up. If you get if you don't have

enough honor, then you sacrifice a

God-scent conduit for the supernatural

grace of your life.

>> But if you go in the other direction,

>> it will create an unhealthy dependence

which is unholy idolatry.

>> I just need a few folk. I just I just Oh

Lord. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If you if IF IT

BECOMES TOO MUCH, IF IT'S OUT OF

BALANCE, IF IT'S TOO FIXED ON

PERSONALITY,

>> IT'S VERY POSSIBLE TO BE SO ALL ABOUT

THE GIFT AND FORGET THAT IT'S GOD THAT

SENT THE GIFT. AND IN IT, what's the

what's Paul say? IN ME THAT IS IN MY

FLESH DWELLS NO GOOD.

>> ARE Y'ALL HERE?

>> SO IF THAT'S THE CASE, THEN WHATEVER'S

GOOD IN me is God.

SO THAT MEANS WHENEVER WHOEVER you love

moves off the scene, whether heaven or

into another situation,

you ain't left without them cuz what was

really touching you was the God in them.

>> And nudge your neighbor and say, "He

ain't gone nowhere."

>> Oh, hallelujah.

What I realized is THERE WERE TWO

EXAMPLES IN THIS ONE TEXT WHERE THE

PEOPLE were relating to their leader

improperly.

>> They looked at Ehood and as LONG AS HE

WAS ON THE SCENE, THEY DID WHAT HE SAID.

>> But when he died, they fell away.

>> And Deborah was God's choice.

>> And then now I don't like Barack or

whatever his name is.

They begin to relate to their leader

like an angel

>> or a good luck charm.

>> See, we like that. That's pastor, you

said you my angel. I'm tell you like an

angel. God know. God knows.

Now I understand that in the Bible there

were times where pastors were related to

as the angel of the house. But let me

explain why

they were considered the angel of the

house because they were the mouthpiece

of the house.

>> They were the what?

>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. THEY WERE THE

MOUTHPIECE. AND THERE ARE TIMES WHEN OUR

voices thunder with truth in a way that

seems men oh it's like incredible.

But folks, I ain't no angel,

but I'm surely a saint.

Oh, you you you're going to catch on in

a minute. Deborah was an amazing leader.

Eh who was gone. They had gone back into

foolishness. And God raised up Deborah.

They began to crowd because those

people, Jabin's armies were afflicting

them so badly. He had 900 chariots. all

that. They were living in days like we

living in now where they're trying to

erase color out of our country,

>> getting throwing books away and trying

to rewrite history.

>> And while while folk, [sighs]

>> they in here banning the banning the

ability to teach slavery,

>> teach the history.

Can you believe that?

And so when people get under bondage,

they start crying out to God. God, we

need somebody. AND GOD RAISED UP

DEBORAH.

>> They say, Dborah, I don't want this.

That's hard to say for me. Work with me.

She ain't here. She don't mind.

He raises her up and SHE'S A WOMAN OF

GOD. SHE'S A PROPHETIST. NA. SHE CAN

HEAR FROM GOD. SHE KNOWS WHAT GOD WANTS

IN A SEASON. SHE'S AWARE OF WHAT THE

PEOPLE OUGHT TO BE DOING. SHE IS FILLED

WITH THE POWER OF GOD AND SHE JUDGES

THEM FROM UNDER A PALM TREE. I LOVE THAT

BECAUSE WHAT THAT SAYS IS NOT ONLY IS

SHE DEEP, but she's easy to get to.

>> SHE'S SHE'S PERSONABLE. YOU UNDERSTAND

WHAT I'M SAYING? YOU CAN WALK UP AND

GIVE HER A HUG. SHE HAS THE WISDOM OF I

DON'T LIKE UPPETITY PEOPLE. CAN I JUST

SAY THAT ON MY WAY OUT? I KNOW GOD IS

GOING TO TAKE THIS MINISTRY TO HEIGHTS

UNKNOWN, BUT PLEASE DON'T EVER GET

UPPETY. YOU AIN'T LISTEN AIN'T NONE OF

US ALL THAT. THE ONLY GOOD THING IN US

IS JESUS. ANYBODY OUGHT TO BE ABLE TO

APPROACH YOU.

>> DEBORAH WAS WAS JUDGING THE PEOPLE.

>> And she was amazing.

>> cuz I I feel like I got a degree of the

wisdom of God.

>> I'm married to a lapidoth.

Come on,

teach the heart of God. But she wasn't

an angel and neither am I. See, let me

share something. If you make see

improper perspective on honor regarding

a leader, again, if you don't have honor

for a leader, then you are disconnected

from the security, the direction, the

perspective, and the grace that should

be on your life. Yeah.

>> But if you start idolizing your leader

>> and making them out like they some angel

with wings or something, there are a

couple things that you do. WATCH THIS.

IF YOU MAKE THEM AN ANGEL, I put it like

this. I may be an anomaly, but I ain't

an angel.

>> Okay, y'all. Y'all, it's okay. An

anomaly is unusual. And I'm going to be

honest, I don't even think I'm that

unusual.

That's just my opinion. BUT WHATEVER YOU

DO, DON'T TRY TO MAKE ME into an angel.

>> I don't have wings.

>> Angels are they are spiritual. They're

not physical.

>> AND WATCH THIS. ANGELS ARE pure without

practice.

>> See, if you start and then people say,

"Lord, that was my angel. They gone.

They gone." And and sometime we even put

things on the car. They got a little

picture of the person wings. I'm not mad

at you. Do what you got to do. But I'm

just saying if you try to categorize

them as an angel,

>> you you you're missing this thing. They

may be unusual in their sweetness, but

they are no angel because angels are

spiritual. They're not physical. Let me

tell you something. It ain't been easy

these 37 years. First of all, I'm not

even a morning person. So, think of how

many mornings I've gotten up and we've

done early morning devotion and I can't

hardly see. I'm trying to put on makeup

and Jerel ain't at the house that early

in the morning. I'm coming on and just

all kind of a way, but you get up and do

it. But it was not EASY TO DO IT. I

DON'T FLOAT from the bed.

I had TO GET UP CRYING AND BLINKING AND

MAD CUZ IT'S EARLY TALKING ABOUT I DON'T

KNOW WHY THEY WANT TO GET UP THIS EARLY.

I DON'T EVEN BELIEVE JESUS want to talk

to nobody at 6:00 in the morning.

THEY'RE SPIRITUAL. I'M PHYSICAL. I GET

TIRED. I GET AGITATED. I CAN COME OUT MY

MOUTH TOO FAST.

Y'ALL CAN'T

>> NOT AN ANGEL. AND SEE, WHEN WE IDOLIZE

PEOPLE AND THEN WHEN WE SEE THAT THEY'RE

REAL, THEN WE GET MAD.

[applause]

>> May be an anomaly, but I'm not an angel.

Because angels are spiritual. They're

not physical. Pastor Trevor, he's he's

he's a man.

>> Lady M. They she's female. They they

they got family. They got bills. They

got clothes to put up.

They got to put gas in the truck just

like everybody else.

>> People tickle me. They see me in the

grocery store. Now I don't go a lot.

>> But it ain't like I don't know how to go

when I go. I never thought I'd see you

You think I got THIS SIZE WITHOUT

EATING? I don't even understand what you

talking about.

THINGS LIKE THAT. ANGELS ARE SPIRITUAL.

>> But the other thing is angels are pure

without practice.

>> See, if you try to make your leader out

to be some angel,

>> watch this. You discount the work that

me and Holy Spirit have done on my

nature.

>> Oh, see you. Oh, pastor, I'm not like

you. Oh, you just Oh, you so sweet. I

ain't like that. What you mean you ain't

like that? I wasn't like this either.

Come on.

>> If you'd HAVE CAUGHT ME 40 YEARS AGO AND

run up on me, I'D HAVE CUSSED YOUR TAIL

OUT.

>> Y'ALL DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA. THEY DONE

THAT STORY. THEY WOULDN'T EVEN LET me

listen. I did the last broadcast and I

was recording. I was going to blast

them. I had already planned it. They

wouldn't let me do it.

Oh no. I was coming for them. See, it's

still in me. Pray. Stretch your hands

this way. Pray for me. I was getting

ready to say all the money I spent here

at Fox and everybody saying, "Now y'all

going to try to put me on black?" Oh, I

was getting ready to go slam off.

This smile did not come automatically.

IT WAS SCRAPED OUT OF SORROW JUST LIKE

YOURS.

IT. THIS THING CAME OUT OF BATTLING

LONELINESS. THIS WON'T THAT WAS LIFTED

FROM THOSE LONELY DAYS.

>> IF YOU TRY TO MAKE THIS OUT TO BE SOME

ANGEL. OH, PASTOR CHRIS. OH, PASTOR.

LIKE SHE JUST FLOAT THROUGH THE SKY.

>> DR. SHANDELLE LIKE HE DON'T EVER GET

TEMPTED WITH ANYTHING.

>> THEN YOU DISCOUNT THE WORK OF TIME WE

WENT AT THE ALTAR WHERE WE WOULD STAY

AND SIT AT THE ALTAR AND CRY WHERE WE

HAD TO FIGHT THROUGH OUR STUFF. I'M NOT

AN ANGEL BUT I AM A SAINT. I HAVE BEEN

WASHED IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS. BUT DON'T

IDOLIZE A LEADER TO THE POINT WHERE YOU

DISCOUNT THE WORK THEY HAD TO DO TO GET

WHERE THEY ARE. [cheering]

And see too, if you make if you make a

leader get your honor out of balance,

you make this leader. So

then that's your way, not y'all. But you

eliminate the need to have to work on

yourself to be like that.

>> Mhm. Yes, sir. Cuz this what we do,

pastor. All these people out here lying

like this. I ain't like you though. You

different. You just see you want to say

life. It was Jesus that lived, suffered,

and died TO SET YOUR SOUL FREE. AND THAT

HE IS NOW LIVING ON THE INSIDE OF YOU BY

THE PERSON OF THE HOLY GHOST. I WISH

SOMEBODY WOULD SHOUT EMMANUEL,

EMMANUEL, WITH US BE GOD. SO IF NOBODY

ELSE IS THERE, I STILL HAVE EVERYTHING I

NEED TO GO FORTH. I MAY BE CRYING ABOUT

IT, BUT I'M STILL GOING TO GO FORTH.

DEBRIS MAY NOT BE THERE, BUT AS LONG AS

JESUS IS THERE,

majority is already in on your side.
