Come on, say it with me. This is my
-
Bible. This is my word.
-
>> It is God's word. It is God's word.
-
>> It reveals to me.
-
>> It reveals to me
-
>> God's will.
-
>> Therefore, therefore,
-
>> it's the final authority
-
>> the final
-
>> to which I submit
-
>> to settle all the issues
-
>> all
-
>> of my life.
-
>> It's the standard
-
>> of my conduct of my conduct
-
>> and the basis
-
>> of all my expectation.
-
>> All my expectations.
-
>> Shout it out. I am.
-
>> I am
-
>> what it says I am.
-
>> It says I am. I possess I
-
>> what it says I possess.
-
>> It says I
-
>> and I can do
-
>> I can do
-
>> absolutely everything.
-
>> Absolutely.
-
>> It says I can do.
-
>> It says
-
>> I'm a believer.
-
>> Not a doubter.
-
>> I'm a doer.
-
>> Not just a hearer.
-
>> And my life
-
>> And my life,
-
>> my everyday life,
-
>> my everyday life
-
>> is the better.
-
>> After having heard
-
>> the word of faith.
-
>> The word of faith.
-
>> Faith comes by hearing.
-
>> Faith comes by hearing
-
>> and hearing. and hearing by the word of
-
God.
-
>> Let's ride.
-
>> You may be seated in the presence of the
-
Lord.
-
>> Amen.
-
Yeah.
-
Amen. Amen. Yeah. There we go.
-
chapter 2
-
vers 6. I want to read verse six and
-
seven. Luke chapter 2
Luke 2 chapter mention
-
>> verse 6 and 7. I'll read out the New
-
King James Version. Luke chapter 2 verse
-
6 and 7. And right before I get into
-
that, big shout out to everyone who
-
graduated uh this week from Pit
-
Community College from East Carolina
-
University. Big shout out. I don't want
-
to start calling names, but just big
-
shout out to you all. It was absolutely
-
amazing achievement what you've done and
-
uh we are super proud of you. Amen.
-
>> Amen. Amen. Luke chapter 2 verse six and
Luke 2 chapter mention
-
seven it says so it was that while they
-
were there the days were completed for
-
her to be delivered. and she brought
-
forth her firstborn son and wrapped him
-
in swaddling clothes and laid him in a
-
manger. All because there was no room
-
for them in the end. I want to talk to
-
us uh briefly from this thought. He came
-
down.
-
He He came down.
-
>> You know, there's something in the human
-
nature that's always striving to climb.
-
>> From the time we're children, we're
-
taught to aim high, reach further, and
-
extend, ascend to the top.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> We celebrate the climb. We applaud those
-
who rise to the top of their careers.
-
Those who climb the corporate ladder,
-
>> those who climb and achieve fame and
-
wealth and power. Think about it. We
-
climb mountains just to conquer them.
-
>> At least some of us.
-
>> We climb over obstacles to prove just
-
how strong we really are. Even in
-
religion, humanity has often tried to
-
climb its way to God
-
>> through good works,
-
>> through rituals,
-
>> through self-righteousness.
-
>> Climbing symbolizes achievement. It
-
symbolizes power. It symbolizes
-
self-sufficiency,
-
>> and it's celebrated because it feeds our
-
sense of pride,
-
>> our sense of control,
-
>> but here's the problem. No matter how
-
high we climb,
-
>> we'll never be able to bridge the gap
-
between us and God.
-
>> Our sins created a gulf.
-
Our disobedience created distance
-
>> that no matter how hard we try, we will
-
still fall short.
-
>> Understand something. The way that you
-
and I, the only way for us to get to God
-
is not for us to climb up to him.
-
>> But the fact is he came down.
-
[cheering]
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
>> Jesus came down. He climbed down into
-
bro. It would be one thing. See, I mo
-
when I'm at home and I'm getting ready
-
to go somewhere and I'm going to stay
-
for a period of time, I I try my very
-
best to make sure that the
-
accommodations of the place that I'm
-
going to
-
>> is at least equal to what I'm used to.
-
>> EVEN EVEN IF IT I I WANT IT TO BE
-
BETTER, VERONICA, BECAUSE I am going
-
somewhere to stay for a little while. I
-
wanted TO BE BETTER, BUT at the very
-
least,
-
I wanted to be somewhat, you know,
-
comparable to what I'm used to.
-
>> But Jesus, when he came down, where he
-
was GOING WAS NOT COMPARABLE TO WHAT he
-
was used to.
-
>> He came down from heaven
-
>> to earth.
-
>> He came down from light into darkness.
-
>> He came down from holiness into
-
brokenness.
-
He came down. He came down.
-
>> He came down into a crime scene.
-
>> He came down into a place where there
-
was hate
-
>> at an all-time high.
-
>> HE CAME DOWN INTO A PLACE WHERE WHERE
-
MASS SHOOTINGS was just was just the
-
norm of the day.
-
He came down where IMMIGRANTS WERE
-
SCARED. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THOSE WHO
-
ARE NOT HERE LEGALLY. I'M TALKING ABOUT
-
THOSE WHO ARE HERE LEGALLY.
-
>> HE CAME DOWN INTO A PLACE WHERE EVEN
-
THEY WERE SCARED TO GO TO THE grocery
-
store.
-
>> He came down.
-
>> Jesus came down and and it was not just
-
a geographical relocation.
-
>> It was a financial relocation.
-
God.
-
>> He came down from having all of his
-
needs met, never having to worry about
-
anything
-
>> into having to depend on humans to feed
-
him.
-
>> He came down and having to depend on
-
somebody else to change him.
-
>> He came down.
-
>> And can I tell you the reason? Oh, I'm
-
I'm I'm about there. The reason why he
-
came down,
-
>> he didn't come down for himself. Number
-
one, he came down to relate to us.
-
>> Let's ride.
-
>> He came down to relate to us.
-
>> HE CAME THAT THAT'S WHY HE DID ALL THAT
-
HE DID WAS SO THAT HE CAN RELATE.
-
>> He came to be BORN AS A HUMAN SO that he
-
could relate. Hebrews chapter 4.
Hebrews 4 chapter mention
-
>> Hebrews chapter 4. Oh, I love the word
Hebrews 4 chapter mention
-
of God. Hebrews chapter 4:1 15 says,
-
"For we do not have a high priest,
-
>> who cannot sympathize with our weakness,
-
>> but was in all points tempted as we are,
-
yet without sin."
-
>> Bump your neighbor. Say, "He can
-
relate."
-
>> He can relate.
-
>> Now, though, I know I I hear some of you
-
saying, "Now, how can God RELATE TO ME?
-
HE'S never been tempted with sex."
-
I know there's stories out there saying
-
Jesus slept with women, but the devil is
-
a lie.
-
>> Ah yeah. Uh-huh.
-
>> We're living in the day now where you
-
have to believe none of what you hear
-
and half of what you see.
-
>> I was looking at a AI picture. I said,
-
"Now, I ain't never been there before. I
-
don't know how I got there."
-
>> That's right.
-
>> But he can relate to THE TEMPT. THE
-
BIBLE says that he was tempted in all
-
points
-
>> as we are.
-
>> Can I SUBMIT TO YOU THAT THERE'S ONLY
-
THREE POINTS of sin?
-
>> Now go go WITH ME TO FIRST JOHN CHAPTER
-
2 verse 16. There's only THREE POINTS TO
-
SIN. I KNOW YOU CAN BRING UP A WHOLE LOT
-
OF STUFF, especially modern day. See,
-
because stuff changes. You go from re
-
reefer to cigarettes to now none of that
-
is hardly around now is vaping.
-
>> But there's only three points to sin.
-
SECOND F FIRST JOHN chapter 2.
1 John 2 chapter mention
-
>> VERSE 16 SAYS FOR ALL THAT IS IN THE
-
WORLD.
-
>> This is how Jesus can relate to us.
-
>> For all that is in the world is the lust
-
of the flesh. The lust of the eyes and
-
the pride of life is not of the father,
-
but this is of the world.
-
>> Jesus is able to relate to us because he
-
was tempted in all points.
-
>> No, he didn't have he didn't have
-
anybody offer him weed.
-
>> But it ain't but three points. There's
-
lust of the flesh.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> That that's WHAT WE DID. NO, NO, THE THE
-
WOMEN DIDN'T RUN UP ON HIM. NOW, they
-
may have ran up on him, but he didn't he
-
didn't he didn't yield to temptation.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> The points of sin is the lust of the
-
flesh,
-
>> the lust of the eyes, the pride of life.
-
If you back up TO MATTHEW CHAPTER 4,
Matthew 4 chapter mention
-
JUST write it down. When he was tempted
-
of the enemy,
-
>> the enemy said, "If you are the son of
-
God, command these stones to become
-
bread."
-
>> That's right.
-
>> That's the lust of the flesh. That is
-
when the enemy tempts you for a trying
-
to get you to fulfill a natural desire
-
in a sinful way.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> Sex is a natural desire.
-
>> But he never intended FOR YOU TO USE
-
YOUR SISTER IN CHRIST TO FULFILL THAT
-
DESIRE. [cheering]
-
[applause]
-
>> YES, SEX IS A NATURAL DESIRE, BUT HE
-
NEVER INTENDED YOU TO JUST GO ON AN
-
ESCAPADE.
-
lust of the flesh.
-
>> Not just the lust of the flesh, but the
-
lust of the eyes.
-
>> The enemy told him, he said, "If you are
-
the son of God," he said, "Throw
-
yourself down.
-
>> Throw yourself that, excuse, that's the
-
pride of life."
-
>> That he said, "THROW YOURSELF DOWN THAT
-
YOU'RE SO YOU YOU know you're the son of
-
God.
-
You you don't you don't you don't have
-
to obey all the rules that everybody
-
else has to.
-
>> THAT THAT'S WHAT THAT'S WHAT PRIDE.
-
>> THAT'S WHAT PRIDE GOES AFTER.
-
>> PRIDE CAUSES US TO BE SELF-CENTERED AND
-
THINK THAT THE RULES DON'T APPLY to us.
-
>> Yeah. Yeah. THAT THAT THAT THAT THAT I
-
DON'T HAVE TO PRAISE GOD. I COULD JUST
-
STAND HERE and just, you know, just
-
thank them in my mind. I ain't got to
-
really lift my hand. That's for the
-
people that don't have, you know, they
-
really going after God. They need God IN
-
ANOTHER WAY THAN I DO.
-
>> The pride of life.
-
He said, "Cast yourself down.
-
You don't have to. The rules don't
-
apply." He can relate.
-
>> The rules don't apply to you.
-
>> You don't have to do it. LIKE I KNOW I
-
know they I know they said, you know,
-
that you you you need a tithe, but you
-
you don't have to, you know, bring it to
-
the storehouse. You can just go feed
-
some people.
-
preaching.
-
>> Yeah. Come on. Come with your own, you
-
know, how how you want to do it. You can
-
you can kind of finesse this thing.
-
>> The pride of life.
-
>> The lust of the eyes. The pride of life.
-
But then the lust of the flesh, but then
-
there's the lust of the eyes. Yes.
-
>> The Bible says that he took Jesus up to
-
a high place,
-
>> had him survey and be able to look at
-
everything.
-
>> And he said, he said, "I I'll give you
-
everything you can see
-
>> if you just bow down and worship me."
-
>> How often have we been pulled into
-
situations by what we see?
-
How
-
>> how h HOW HOW HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE
-
ENDED up in relationships that we
-
shouldn't have been in all because of
-
what we saw?
-
>> HOW OFTEN HAVE WE ENDED UP IN SEASONS OF
-
DROUGHT AND DISTANCE FROM GOD BECAUSE WE
-
FELL INTO what we saw?
-
>> Yeah. Jesus can relate. He can relate.
-
>> No, he he can he can relate to what it
-
IS THAT YOU'RE GOING. HE CAN RELATE
-
>> to the pull of the eyes. He can relate
-
to THE PRIDE OF LIFE. HE CAN RELATE TO
-
THE LUST OF THE FLESH.
-
>> He came down
-
>> to let you know that he can relate.
-
>> Can I submit to you all that not only
-
are that not only is that he came down,
-
but he caused us to come down.
-
Yes,
-
>> HE'S CALLING US TO COME DOWN so that we
-
can relate to those around us.
-
>> See, you and I have TO BE CAREFUL
-
BECAUSE WHAT HAPPENS IS WE TRY TO HELP
-
people without coming down first.
-
>> THAT THAT THAT'S HOW YOU CAN THAT'S HOW
-
YOU CAN arrogantly treat people like
-
they don't matter when you have
-
something they don't that they need.
-
>> What what what has HAPPENED IN THAT
-
SITUATION? YES, YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT
-
THEY NEED, BUT YOU DIDN'T STEP BACK AND
-
COME DOWN first
-
>> to relate to them.
-
>> No, you may not have the very same
-
situation that they have,
-
>> but you can relate.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Oh, no, no, no. You may not have the
-
very same situation, but but you can
-
relate.
-
>> Yeah, MAYBE THEY DID NOT. THEY THEY THEY
-
should have apologized to you. They said
-
something they shouldn't have said to
-
you. Come on.
-
>> And they they they have apologized.
-
Now, you can take this one of two ways.
-
You can either stand there and try to
-
wait for an apology that's that you
-
think is acceptable,
-
or you can step back and come down and
-
remember the times when you didn't you
-
didn't apologize to God and you didn't
-
repent like you should have. Amen.
-
>> Now you you you you and I have to take a
-
moment to step back and relate to
-
others.
-
>> Could it be
-
>> could it be
-
>> that the way out of your situation
-
>> is to come down into somebody else's
-
>> AND COME DOWN AND RELATE TO YOU'RE
-
TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THROUGH
-
THAT DEPRESSION. Come on.
-
>> Could it be that God is calling YOU TO
-
COME DOWN INTO SOMEBODY ELSE SITUATION
-
and write them an encouraging note?
-
>> Could could IT COULD IT BE THAT THAT YOU
-
ARE BELIEVING GOD TO TO GIVE YOU THIS
-
FINANCIAL INCREASE,
-
>> BUT GOD WANTS YOU TO COME DOWN OUT OF
-
YOUR SITUATION AND JUST HAND THAT little
-
$10 to somebody else.
-
>> Touch your neighbor. Say, "I can
-
relate."
-
>> I can relate.
-
That's what God is calling us to do.
-
>> If Christmas is anything,
-
>> it's the fact that you and I can come
-
down and relate to others.
-
>> And see, WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT DOESN'T
-
REQUIRE A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> What it will WHAT IT WILL REQUIRE IS FOR
-
YOU TO COME down
-
out of your busyness.
-
>> Yeah, I know. I know you're busy. We got
-
a lot to do, but there's an older person
-
in your life
-
>> that you need to come down and go relate
-
to.
-
>> There's somebody there there's A WIDOW
-
IN YOUR LIFE. NO, YOU MAY NOT HAVE MONEY
-
TO TAKE HER. NO, YOU MAY NOT. AND IF YOU
-
GOT A LITTLE MONEY, give it to her.
-
Bless her. Be a BLESSING TO HER. BUT IF
-
YOU DON'T HAVE THAT, YOU STILL CAN COME
-
DOWN AND RELATE.
-
>> AMEN.
-
>> This is what Christmas is all about.
-
Right.
-
>> I'm concerned because Christmas has been
-
so commercialized
-
>> that we think that if WE DON'T HAVE
-
MONEY, WE CAN'T BRING CHRISTMAS.
-
[applause]
-
>> CAN I TELL YOU THAT THE REAL CHRISTMAS,
-
THE FIRST CHRISTMAS WAS WHEN JESUS CAME
-
DOWN.
-
>> BEFORE ANYBODY PUT A CHRISTMAS TREE UP,
-
HE CAME DOWN.
-
He can relate.
-
>> He can relate.
-
You and I can relate. But it calls for
-
us to come down.
-
>> He came down to relate to us. Number
-
one. But number two, he came down, catch
-
this, to reveal God to us.
-
>> He came down to reveal God.
-
Is that what that is?
-
>> Do I need a change?
-
>> Is that better?
-
>> No.
-
>> Okay. He's coming to help me out.
-
>> I know I am.
-
>> You going to work on it? I'mma keep
-
going.
-
>> Is it bothering y'all?
-
>> Let's ride.
-
He came. My god.
-
>> He came down.
-
[applause]
-
>> Can I tell you that there's somebody
-
who's having a problem with ringing in
-
their life?
-
There's somebody being irritated by a
-
ringing in their life
-
>> and the sol and they're praying for a
-
solution
-
>> and you are the solution.
-
>> No, no, no. You are you are the sol you
-
God is waiting for you to come down.
-
>> See, Marcus couldn't help me from where
-
he was.
-
He didn't just get in the room. He was
-
sitting up in the booth. But it wasn't
-
until he came down.
-
>> I'm good. I want to do you just just
-
leave it. Yeah. Just leave. Just leave
-
it. Yeah.
-
Jesus came down to relate to us,
-
>> but he came down to reveal God's heart
-
to us.
-
>> Jesus came all the way. He look how he
-
came down.
-
>> He didn't come down in some plush
-
nursery
-
where he had everything he needed. The
-
Bible says that they laid him in a
-
manger.
-
>> A manger was a feeding trough.
-
>> And feeding troughs were only housed in
-
stables.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> Where animals laid.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> He was in a stinking situation.
-
>> HE CAME DOWN. WHY DID HE COME DOWN THIS
-
WAY? SO THAT HE COULD REVEAL GOD'S HEART
-
TO US TO LET US KNOW THAT THERE'S NO
-
SITUATION THAT YOU COULD GET IN THAT I
-
WILL NOT COME TO. [cheering]
-
>> I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. Can I
-
tell you the real MEANING OF CHRISTMAS?
-
I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. JESUS
-
WILL COME DOWN INTO YOUR SITUATION.
-
He'll come down and relate to you.
-
He'll come down and reveal God's heart
-
to you.
-
>> That God wants you to that no matter
-
what you have done,
-
>> no matter how low you have gone,
-
>> NO MATTER WHAT you have sunk into, no
-
matter how long YOU HAVE BEEN THERE,
-
GOD'S HEART TOWARD you is good.
-
>> This is Christmas.
-
If you don't have a present,
-
>> if you don't have A GIFT, IF YOU'RE NOT
-
A SEE, BECAUSE I NEED TO take a moment
-
to speak to this because there are some
-
people
-
>> WHO ARE FEELING LIKE THEY'RE NOT GOING
-
TO experience Christmas because you
-
don't have all the money you need, you
-
want yet. Somebody shout
-
>> yes.
-
>> But can I tell YOU THAT YOU'VE ALREADY
-
BEEN EQUIPPED to bring Christmas into
-
the life of somebody around you? IF YOU
-
WILL TAKE A MOMENT TO JUST STEP BACK AND
-
COME DOWN AND RELATE AND REVEAL GOD'S
-
HEART TO OTHER PEOPLE, IT will be the
-
biggest gift that you've EVER GIVEN INTO
-
YOUR LIFE.
-
>> I've helped somebody.
-
But it calls for us to come down.
-
Some of you need to come down and share
-
your testimony.
-
Someone I'm not I'm not talking about
-
the one that you post.
-
>> I'm talking about the one that you've
-
been holding on to.
-
>> I'm talking about the ONE THAT HADN'T
-
MADE IT TO SOCIAL MEDIA. I'm talking
-
about the ONE THAT YOU HADN'T TOLD
-
ANYBODY ABOUT THAT WHEN GOD BRINGS THE
-
SITUATION IN FRONT OF YOU AND YOU SEE A
-
PERSON THAT HAS WALKED THROUGH WHAT
-
YOU'VE WALKED THROUGH, GOD IS CALLING US
-
TO COME down
-
>> to relate and reveal his heart to them.
-
>> That's why he brought you through.
-
>> That's why he brought YOU OUT. NOT SO
-
that you CAN WALK AROUND WITH A BADGE OF
-
HONOR, BUT SO THAT YOU CAN WHEN YOU FIND
-
SOMEBODY WHO IS JUST LIKE YOU,
-
>> that you'll remember,
-
>> what it was like to feel alone,
-
>> that you will remember what it was like
-
to feel like, I don't know IF I'M EVER
-
GOING TO GET THROUGH THIS SIN.
-
I KNOW YOU'VE BEEN OUT OF IT FOR 5
-
YEARS, BUT WHEN YOU SEE SOMEBODY
-
STRUGGLING, GOD WANTS YOU TO REMEMBER.
-
>> He wants you to come down
-
>> and relate.
-
And can I just make one, let me clear up
-
one point. Relating doesn't mean that
-
you get in sin with them.
-
>> That's right.
-
[laughter]
-
>> Yeah. I'm going just go relate to the
-
boy. Oh, we going to go up and just
-
smoke a little something so I can
-
relate. That's not relating.
-
That's reverting.
-
>> Oh,
-
no, NO, NO. I'M TALKING about
-
righteously relating.
-
>> That I remember what it's like to be
-
without a savior
-
>> and act like I didn't need anything.
-
I know what it's like for people to come
-
and invite me to church and I lie to
-
them and tell them I'm coming knowing
-
good and well I had no intentions on
-
coming.
-
>> So now when I invite somebody and they
-
lie to me and they don't come, I'm not
-
upset with them.
-
>> I just spiritually get more fortified
-
>> and said IF YOU DUCK THAT ONE, you won't
-
be able to duck this one. Hey, how you
-
doing?
-
I was looking for you last Sunday.
-
[laughter]
-
>> Why? Because I can relate.
-
>> I know what it's like to run from a God
-
who's calling me.
-
>> I know what it's like to run from a God
-
who is calling me out of my mess and
-
calling me out OF SOME THINGS THAT I
-
DON'T WANT TO LET GO OF YET.
-
>> He's calling us to come down.
-
>> Somebody say, "Merry Christmas."
-
>> Merry Christmas.
-
>> He's calling us to come down. Yes.
-
>> To relate to those around us,
-
>> to reveal the heart of God,
-
>> to remind people that you have not done
-
so much.
-
>> You have not gone so far,
-
that God cannot forgive you.
-
>> That God cannot restore you. [applause]
-
>> And I know you have done I KNOW YOU HAVE
-
PRAYED AND ASKED GOD SAY, "GOD, if you
-
get me out of this, I won't do it no
-
more." I know this is the fourth time.
-
See, this is where we got to be honest
-
>> and say, "I I didn't get my second
-
chance right.
-
I blew my second chance a long time ago.
-
>> But I want you to know that he's the
-
kind of God that will give you another
-
chance.
-
>> And I don't care how what you've done
-
and how long you've done it or who
-
you've done it with.
-
>> His heart is good toward you.
-
God is calling us to bring Christmas to
-
somebody.
-
>> Give your gifts.
-
If you give your gifts, can I ask? Can I
-
say something? Give your gifts with the
-
heart of God in mind.
-
>> Don't let it be a competition.
-
>> [applause]
-
>> Maybe your gift is not the biggest,
-
maybe it's not the grandest,
-
but what it should do is relate to
-
people.

-
Father in Jesus name, we thank you for
-
this opportunity around your word
-
and father we take a moment to step back
-
father because we thank you
-
because you have given us a real
-
Christmas
-
God. You came down
-
not for the greatest among us. You came
-
down for them too. But Lord, you came
-
low enough to let all of us know
-
that there is no there is no depth that
-
you will not go to reach us.
-
Thank you for coming down.
-
Thank you for for stepping aside of all
-
of the splendor of heaven and coming
-
down to earth. [music]
-
Thank you for coming to relate to us.
-
Father, thank you for being the kind of
-
[clears throat] savior
-
who was tempted in all points as we
-
were, but yet without sin.
-
So Lord, help us to to embrace you and
-
not to run from you, but realize you can
-
relate to us. that Lord, no matter what
-
it is that we're dealing with, no matter
-
what it is that we're facing, no matter
-
what kind of challenges that are in our
-
lives right now, Father, help us
-
to realize that you can relate to us and
-
that we can bring all that we have to
-
you.
-
Thank you for coming down to reveal
-
yourself to us
-
that your heart towards us is good.
-
Father, it is our prayer that as we have
-
freely received, may we freely give. May
-
we come down in our lives to help
-
somebody else to prayerfully [music] to
-
relate to them and to reveal your heart
-
to them. We thank you for it now in
-
Jesus name.
